RESUMO Objetivo compreender a relação entre a deglutição e a cognição nos indivíduos com a doença de Parkinson. Estratégia de pesquisa revisão integrativa guiada pela pergunta condutora: “Qual a relação entre a deglutição e cognição na doença de Parkinson?”. Foram utilizados os seguintes descritores em saúde: Doença de Parkinson, Cognição, Disfunção Cognitiva, Mastigação, Deglutição e Transtornos de Deglutição. As bases de dados pesquisadas foram LILACS, MEDLINE/PubMed, SciELO, Web of Science, Embase e Scopus. Critérios de seleção a seleção se deu de forma independente, por meio da leitura por pares, sendo inclusas publicações disponibilizadas na íntegra em português, inglês ou espanhol, sem restrição de ano. Estudos que descreviam o comprometimento cognitivo e oral associado a outras síndromes parkinsonianas ou diferentes doenças neurodegenerativas foram excluídos. Resultados dos 1701 estudos, foram excluídos 306 duplicados. A partir da leitura dos resumos, aplicando-se os critérios de seleção, foram selecionados 24 estudos para leitura na íntegra, dos quais, 14 foram incluídos nesta revisão. Observou-se associação entre o declínio cognitivo e a fase oral da deglutição. Conclusão os achados sugerem que a cognição pode influenciar o desempenho da deglutição, estando o declínio cognitivo associado à disfagia e à sialorreia. ABSTRACT Purpose to understand the relationship between swallowing and cognition in individuals with Parkinson’s disease. Research strategy this integrative review was based on the research question, “What is the relationship between swallowing and cognition in Parkinson’s disease?”. It used the following health descriptors: Parkinson’s disease, Cognition, Cognitive Dysfunction, Mastication, Swallowing, and Swallowing Disorders, to search the LILACS, MEDLINE/PubMed, SciELO, Web of Science, EMBASE, and Scopus databases. Selection criteria the selection was based on independent reading by peers, including publications available in full text in Portuguese, English, or Spanish, with no restriction on the year. The review excluded studies that described cognitive and oral impairment associated with other parkinsonian syndromes or different neurodegenerative diseases. Results altogether, 1701 studies were found, of which 306 duplicates were excluded. Based on abstract reading and the selection criteria, 24 studies were selected to be read in full text, and 14 of them were included in this review. Association was observed between cognitive decline and the oral phase of swallowing. Conclusion the findings suggest that cognition can influence swallowing performance, with cognitive decline associated with dysphagia and sialorrhea. This relationship proved to be more evident in the oral phase of swallowing, but still controversial in the pharyngeal phase. Abstract Introduction Minor structural alterations of the vocal fold cover are important causes of dysphonia. The variability in the type of alteration and the grade of vocal deviation affects the definition of the conduit and the results of treatment. Objective To characterize the occurrence, the selected treatments adopted and vocal quality before and after treatment in patients with minor structural alterations of the vocal folds cover. Methods This was a cross-sectional study based on the records of patients treated by an interdisciplinary team at the laryngology outpatient clinic of a public university hospital from 2010 to 2018. Data collection consisted of access to a database of information on otorhinolaryngological diagnostic hypotheses, intervention and perceptual-auditory vocal assessments before and after the treatment. Data from 102 subjects were analyzed. Association tests were applied between the perceptualauditory vocal results and the different alterations found and between these and the adopted treatments. The results of the degrees of vocal deviation before and after treatment were also compared. Results The degree of roughness was associated with the sulcus vocalis, and in this alteration the highest occurrence was mild degree of roughness. There was an improvement in the breathiness and general grade of vocal deviation after treatment. Conclusion Cysts were the most frequent structural alteration in the population studied. There was an association between the degree of general deviation and that of roughness in sulcus vocalis cases. The breathiness and the general grade of vocal deviation improved after treatment regardless of the type of treatment and alteration.

RESUMO O objetivo deste estudo foi relatar as principais alterações fonoaudiológicas encontradas em um caso de uma paciente com diagnóstico de CADASIL, atendida na clínica-escola de Fonoaudiologia de uma Instituição de Ensino Superior, no período de 2008 a 2013. Foi realizada a avaliação clínica verificando alterações quanto aos órgãos fonoarticulatórios, mobilidade e tônus de lábios, língua e bochechas reduzidos, com maiores repercussões na deglutição nos dois últimos anos de atendimento. Na avaliação evidenciaram-se deglutições múltiplas na consistência pastosa e presença de tosse na consistência líquida, com qualidade vocal “molhada” e ausculta cervical sem alterações, após várias deglutições. Já a voz, apresentou qualidade vocal rouco-soprosa, astenia, loudness fraca, ressonância hipernasal e articulação imprecisa. A conduta fonoaudiológica objetivou manter a alimentação e a comunicação oral, contribuindo para melhor qualidade de vida.

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to report the main speech-language disorders in a patient with CADASIL diagnosis, attending the Speech Therapy School Clinic of a Higher Education Institution from 2008 to 2013. Clinical evaluation of the speech organs was carried out, verifying reduced mobility and tonus of lips, tongue and cheeks, with major repercussions on deglutition in the last two years of care. Multiple swallowing were observed for pasty consistency, and coughing, for the liquid one, with "wet" vocal quality and cervical auscultation without alterations, after multiple swallowing. A hoarse vocal quality with asthenia, weak loudness, hypernasal resonance and imprecise articulation were observed regarding the patient’s voice. The speech therapy aimed at maintaining food intake and communication, improving the patient’s quality of life.

RESUMO Objetivo: compreender a atuação em rede da equipe de saúde da família diante da perda auditiva infantil. Métodos: trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa a partir do estudo de caso. A coleta de dados consistiu na realização de três grupos focais com as equipes de saúde da família do distrito sanitário IV, no município de Recife. Os dados foram analisados pela condensação de significados. Resultados: a maioria dos profissionais desempenham suas funções de modo individualizado, o que pode fragilizar a assistência integral à saúde. Associados a isso, a falta de articulação com os demais níveis de complexidade para atender as diversas ações requeridas pela equipe impossibilita o cuidado contínuo da criança. Conclusão: a organização das equipes e suas relações com outros serviços assistenciais são envoltas por fragilidades que tornam a assistência pouco efetiva no que diz respeito à saúde auditiva.

ABSTRACT Purpose: to understand the network performance of family health staff on child hearing loss. Methods: a qualitative case-study research. Data collection consisted in three focus groups of family health staff from district IV in the city of Recife. Data were analyzed by meaning condensation. Results: most professionals perform their functions individually, which might weaken the comprehensive health care. Additionally, the lack of interaction with other complexity levels to meet the various actions and the absence of counter-reference required by the staff prevents the child's ongoing care. Conclusion: the teams’ organization and their relationships with other health care services are surrounded by weaknesses that make assistance ineffective regarding hearing health.

RESUMO Objetivo Analisar a atuação das equipes de saúde da família diante da suspeita e identificação da perda auditiva infantil. Método Trata-se de um estudo de caso. Realizaram-se grupos focais com três equipes de saúde da família de um distrito sanitário, na região metropolitana de Recife. Os dados coletados foram transcritos e analisados, tomando por base o modelo de análise de entrevistas do tipo condensação de significados. Resultados Os profissionais fazem uso de alguns recursos para avaliar a reação da criança aos estímulos sonoros, mas, em sua maioria, desconhecem os indicadores de risco para a perda auditiva, bem como possuem dúvidas quanto à realização de encaminhamentos. Quanto ao acompanhamento das crianças, foi relatado que a falta de uma contrarreferência por parte dos outros profissionais impossibilita um acompanhamento efetivo da criança na unidade. Conclusão Apesar das potencialidades na assistência à saúde da criança, a atuação da equipe de saúde da família ainda é permeada por fragilidades que dificultam seu desempenho no que diz respeito à saúde auditiva.

ABSTRACT Purpose To analyze the performance of family health teams toward the suspicion and identification of child hearing loss. Methods This is a case study. Data were collected in three focus groups with three family health teams of a health district in the metropolitan area of Recife, Brazil. All data were transcribed and analyzed based on the interview analysis model of condensation of meanings. Results The family health professionals investigated made use of some resources to assess child reaction to sound stimuli, but they were mostly unaware of risk indicators for hearing loss and presented doubts about conducting referrals. Regarding child monitoring, the family health professionals reported that the lack of counter-reference by other professionals precludes the effective monitoring of children in the family health units. Conclusion Despite their potential in assisting child health, the role of family health teams is still permeated by weaknesses that hinder their performance with respect to hearing health.
