Seeking a viable alternative to fossil fuels as the primary energy source, bioethanol has emerged as a promising second-generation fuel derived from lignocellulosic biomass. With Brazil ranking pineapple as the third most produced fruit in temporary crops, this study aims to assess the impact of chemical pretreatment techniques, specifically organosolv and diluted acid, on the residual biomass of Pérola pineapple peel to enhance bioethanol production. Employing an experimental design that incorporates temperature, reaction time, and varying concentrations of organic solvent, the study examines their effects on the susceptibility of the substrate to saccharification for future bioethanol generation. Factors such as alphacellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin were evaluated in triplicate and subjected to statistical analysis using the Tukey test with a confidence level of 95%. Upon application of the pretreatment methods, it was observed that the organosolv solvent approach (utilizing water and ethanol) with sulfuric acid exhibited superior sugar conversion, yielding the highest concentration of xylose at 9.13 g L-1. Additionally, the pretreated biomass contained 1.38 g L 1 of cellobiose, 3.11 g L-1 of arabinose, and 3.76 g L-1 of glucose. Caffeine (CAF) and nicotine (NIC) are emerging contaminants and are among the most consumed substances in the world, making it crucial to monitor these contaminants. In this work, an alternative electrolyte, 2-hydroxyethylammonium acetate (2HEAA) was used for the development of an electroanalytical method for determination and quantification of CAF and NIC, simultaneously, using differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). The system with the 2HEAA electrolyte was characterized by cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and the DPV parameters were optimized for the best conditions. The method was validated from a calibration curve obtained which showed limit of detection (LOD) of 0.82 and 6.26 μmol L 1 and limit of quantification (LOQ) of 2.73 and 20.8 μmol L-1 for CAF and NIC, respectively. In the precision analyses, values lower than 10% of relative standard deviation were obtained. In the presence of concomitant inorganic and organic species, the system proved to be selective in the determination of analytes. The method was used to determine the analytes in fortified samples (river water, synthetic urine and commercial milk), obtaining recoveries between 87.25 and 111.40%. Fruits of Schinus terebinthifolia Raddi were investigated. A fast and efficient method for the simultaneous determination of 11 polyphenolic substances by high performance liquid chromatography-diode array detector (HPLC-DAD) was applied. RESUMO: O objetivo deste trabalho foi desenvolver uma estratégia de seleção e obter progênies de aveia branca precoces, homogêneas para o florescimento e com acréscimos a massa de grãos da panícula, conciliados aos estímulos ambientais controlados pela temperatura do ar. O experimento foi conduzido no município de Augusto Pestana, no estado do Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. O delineamento experimental de blocos aumentados com testemunha intercalar, os tratamentos regulares correspondem a 238 progênies de aveia branca e o tratamento comum foi representado pela testemunha comercial (URS Taura) disposta em três repetições. A seleção para peso de grãos por panícula, porcentagem de plantas floridas, dias para maturidade fisiológica e acúmulo de graus-dia devem-se a uma alta contribuição genética, o que indica uma seleção promissora para esses caracteres já nas gerações iniciais de melhoramento. ABSTRACT: The development of a selection strategy and to obtain a precocious white oat progenies, homogeneous for flowering and with additions to panicle grain mass, reconciled to environmental stimuli controlled by air temperature. The experiment was conducted in the municipality of Augusto Pestana, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The experimental design was in augmented blocks with intermediate control, the regular treatments corresponded to 238 white oat progenies and the common treatment was represented by the commercial control (URS Taura) arranged in three replications. The selection for grains weight per panicle, percentage of flowered plants, days to physiological maturity and accumulation of degrees day are due to a high genetic contribution, which indicated promising selection for these characters already in initial breeding generations. The accumulation of degrees days for physiological maturity defines that 41.94% of the progenies are selected as precocious. The genotype ideotype distance index (MGIDI) selected 20% of the white oat progenies with greater flowering uniformity, less accumulation of degrees days and high potential for grain mass per panicle. RESUMO: O objetivo deste estudo foi obter informações sobre a morfologia externa e interna do canal alimentar da principal praga das brássicas, Plutella xylostella L. (Lepidoptera: Plutellidae), quando exposta a uma formulação microencapsulada do extrato da semente de Annona muricata L. (Annonaceae). A toxicidade da formulação microencapsulada das lagartas alimentadas por 12, 24 e 48 horas mais o controle foi avaliada para verificar alterações morfológicas externas e internas causadas pelo extrato que possam ter causado a morte das lagartas. Após os ensaios, o canal alimentar das lagartas foi dissecado, fixado, desidratado, bloqueado, cortado e colorido. Em seguida, lâminas histológicas foram produzidas e estudadas em microscopia óptica e microscopia de varredura (MEV). A formulação microencapsulada de A. muricata, causou danos irreversíveis ao canal alimentar de P. xylostella, com desorganização, estratificação celular e modificações na morfologia das células consideradas essenciais para a sobrevivência. ABSTRACT: This study obtained information about the external and internal morphology of the alimentary canal of the main pest of brassica, Plutella xylostella L. (Lepidoptera: Plutellidae), when it is exposed to a microencapsulated formulation of the seed extract of Annona muricata L. (Annonaceae). The toxicity of the microencapsulated formulation of the caterpillars fed for 12, 24, and 48 hours plus the control was evaluated to verify and evaluate external and internal morphological changes caused by the extract that may have killed the caterpillars. After the assays, the alimentary canal of the caterpillars was dissected, fixed, dehydrated, blocked, cut, and colored. RESUMO: No estado do Amazonas cultiva-se, tradicionalmente, a laranjeira ‘Pêra’ sobre o limoeiro ‘Cravo’. O uso restrito de uma única combinação de copa-porta-enxerto tem deixado os pomares locais vulneráveis à condições adversas e a incidência de pragas e doenças, podendo interferir negativamente tanto na produtividade como na qualidade dos frutos e sustentabilidade citrícola do Estado. A ampliação do número de combinações-copas-porta-enxertos torna-se uma alternativa viável para superar tais problemas. Para atender a esta demanda dos produtores de citros foram avaliadas 30 combinações com 10 copas e três porta-enxertos no sexto e sétimo ano após o plantio das mudas no campo, no município de Rio Preto da Eva, AM. Nesse experimento foram avaliadas: a produtividade, o rendimento de suco, os sólidos solúveis, o pH, a acidez titulável, o ratio e o índice tecnológico. A copa ‘Pineapple’ com os porta-enxertos tangerineira ‘Sunki Tropical’ e ‘BRS Bravo’ podem ser alternativas produtivas em relação a tradicional combinação laranja ‘Pêra’ sob limoeiro ‘Cravo’ no Amazonas. ABSTRACT: In the state of Amazonas, the ‘Pêra’ orange scion is traditionally cultivated on ‘Rangpur’ lime tree. The restricted use of a single scion-rootstock combination has left local orchards vulnerable to adverse conditions and incidence of pests and diseases, which may negatively interfere with both productivity and fruit quality and the citrus activity sustainability in the state. The expansion of the number of scion-rootstock combinations becomes a viable alternative to overcome such problems. To meet this demand from citrus growers, 30 combinations with 10 scions and 3 rootstocks were evaluated in the sixth and seventh year after planting seedlings in the field in the municipality of Rio Preto da Eva, AM. In this experiment, productivity, juice yield, soluble solids, pH, titratable acidity, ratio and technological index were evaluated. ‘Pineapple’ scion with ‘Sunki Tropical’ and ‘BRS Bravo’ rootstocks can be productive alternatives in relation to traditional ‘Pêra’ orange scion under ‘Rangpur’ lime combination in the state of Amazonas. ‘Lima’ orange with ‘Sunki Tropical’ mandarin, ‘Rangpur lime SC’ and ‘BRS Bravo’ lime rootstocks can be alternatives for the fresh market in the state. RESUMO Este estudo analisou um biomaterial substituto ósseo recentemente desenvolvido feito de óxido de quitosana- xantana-hidroxiapatita-grafeno (CXHAG). As partículas CXHAG observaram caracterização estrutural e morfológica in vitro. Foi testado in vivo, com ou sem meio condicionado osteogênico de células-tronco mesenquimais. Objetivo O objetivo deste estudo foi determinar se o novo biomaterial CXHAG, suplementado com meio condicionado de células-tronco mesenquimais, poderia ser útil para a regeneração óssea. Materiais e Método Para o estudo in vitro, as células foram incubadas com 20mg de grânulos de CXHAG por 24 horas e foi realizado ensaio de MTT para verificar a citotoxicidade. Para o estudo in vivo, foram criados defeitos ósseos de tamanho crítico na calvária em vinte e cinco ratos. Um animal teve o defeito não preenchido (Grupo Controle – GC) e foi eutanasiado após 42 dias. Doze ratos receberam as partículas CXHAG (Grupo 1 – G1) e os outros doze receberam as partículas CXHAG suplementadas com o meio condicionado (Grupo 2 – G2). Todos os enxertos G1/G2 foram cobertos com membrana CXHAG. Os animais do G1/G2 foram eutanasiados após 14 dias (T1) ou 42 dias (T2). Os espécimes foram processados e avaliados histologicamente. Resultados A análise SEM das partículas CXHAG mostrou grânulos de 300-400μm, com superfície áspera e irregular. Eles não foram citotóxicos para células-tronco da polpa dentária in vitro. As amostras CG mostraram tecido conjuntivo imaturo frouxo e nenhuma formação óssea no centro do defeito. G1 e G2 apresentaram partículas remanescentes de biomateriais em ambos os momentos, mas apenas G2 apresentou formação óssea no centro do defeito. Conclusões O meio condicionado teve repercussões positivas na regeneração óssea em defeitos críticos de calvária de ratos quando associado ao novo biomaterial substituto ósseo.

ABSTRACT This study analyzed a recently developed bone substitute biomaterial made of chitosan-xanthanhydroxyapatite- graphene oxide (CXHAG). The CXHAG particles underwent in vitro structural and morphological characterization, and in vivo testing with or without osteogenic conditioned medium from mesenchymal stem cells. Aim The aim of this study was to determine whether the CXHAG novel biomaterial, supplemented with conditioned medium from mesenchymal stem cells, could be useful for bone regeneration. Materials and Method For the in vitro study, cells were incubated with 20mg of CXHAG granules for 24 hours and a MTT assay was performed to tests for cytotoxicity. For the in vivo study, critical size calvarial bone defects were created in twenty-five rats. One animal had the defect unfilled (Control Group–CG) and was euthanized after 42 days. Twelve rats received the CXHAG particles (Group 1–G1) and the other twelve received the CXHAG particles supplemented with the conditioned medium (Group 2–G2). All G1/G2 grafts were covered with a CXHAG membrane. G1/G2 animals were euthanized after 14 days (T1) or 42 days (T2). The specimens were processed and histologically evaluated. Results SEM analysis of the CXHAG particles showed granules of 300-400μm, with a rough irregular surface. They were not cytotoxic to dental pulp stem cells in vitro. The CG specimen showed loose immature connective tissue and no bone formation at the center of the defect. G1 and G2 presented remnant biomaterial particles at both time points, but only G2 had bone formation at the center of the defect. Conclusions The conditioned medium had a positive effect on bone regeneration in rat calvarial critical size defects when associated with the novel bone substitute biomaterial.

Résumé L’objectif du travail est de documenter l’existence d’un modèle de punition-récompense dans les pratiques éducatives envers les mineurs, à Querétaro, région centre-bas du pays, au cours des années 1950; considéré comme une étape de transition vers la Modernité, dans un environnement socioculturel dominé par les institutions conservatrices. Les recherches précédentes ont montré l’existence de châtiments physiques et psychologiques dans les salles de classe, acceptés par la société, où les mineurs ne le considéraient pas comme de la violence, mais comme une activité d’enseignement. Les travaux universitaires se sont concentrés sur la cruauté des châtiments corporels et le rôle de l’enseignement dans l’exercice du pouvoir et de la domination, mais sans prêter attention aux enfances et aux dynamiques dans lesquelles, le correctif fait partie d’un quotidien où abondent aussi les stimuli basés sur la récompense. Pour montrer cela, une recherche a été menée dans le cadre de l’Histoire Sociale et Culturelle, en utilisant des sources officielles et des références telles que: photographies, publicités, bandes dessinées ou romans, à travers lesquelles sont mis en évidence certains des stimuli et des satisfactions que les familles, souvent par un lourd sacrifice économique, donnaient à leurs enfants pour pouvoir aller à l’école. Il ressort des conclusions que ce que l’on considérait auparavant comme des pratiques communes ne le sont plus au fil du temps, et ce qui était impensable, avec le progressisme, c’est maintenant la norme. Le rejet actuel de la violence physique et psychologique entre et vers la population scolaire ne fait pas exception.

Badania wcześniejsze pokazują istnienie kar fizycznych i psychicznych w salach lekcyjnych, akceptowanych przez społeczeństwo, gdzie nieletni nie traktowali tego jako przemocy, a jako działalność pedagogiczną. Prace akademickie skupiały się na ujawnianiu okrucieństwa kar fizycznych i roli nauczycieli w wywieraniu relacji władzy i dominacji, ale bez zwracania uwagi na dzieciństwo ani dynamikę, w której kara jest częścią codzienności, obok obfitujących w bodźce opartych na nagrodzie. Resumen El objetivo del trabajo es documentar la existencia de un modelo de castigo-recompensa en las prácticas educativas hacia menores, en Querétaro, región centro-bajío del país, durante la década de 1950; considerada una etapa de transición a la Modernidad, en un entorno sociocultural dominado por las instituciones conservadoras. Las investigaciones previas muestran la existencia de castigos físicos y psicológicos en las aulas, aceptados por la sociedad, donde las y los menores no lo consideraban como violencia, sino quehacer docente. Los trabajos académicos se centraron en exhibir la crueldad de los castigos físicos y el papel de la docencia al ejercer relaciones de poder y dominación, pero sin prestar atención a las infancias ni a las dinámicas en las que, el correctivo es parte de una cotidianeidad en la que también abundan estímulos basados en la recompensa. Para dar muestra de ello, se desarrolló una investigación bajo el enfoque de la Historia Social y Cultural, usando fuentes oficiales y referencias como: fotografías, anuncios publicitarios, historietas o novelas, a través de las cuales se evidencian algunos de los estímulos y satisfactores que las familias, muchas veces mediante un fuerte sacrificio económico, daban a sus hijas e hijos para poder ir a la escuela. Entre las conclusiones destaca que, lo que antes se consideraban prácticas comunes, al paso del tiempo ya no lo son; y lo que era impensable, con el progresismo, ahora es la norma. El rechazo actual de la violencia física y psicológica entre y hacia la población escolar, no es la excepción.

Abstract This paper aims to document the existence of a punishment-reward model in educational practices towards minors in Querétaro, a central-bajío region in Mexico, during the 1950s. This decade was considered a transitional stage to Modernity, in a sociocultural environment dominated by conservative institutions. Previous research shows the existence of physical and psychological punishment in classrooms, accepted by society, where minors did not perceive them as violence, but as a regular part of teaching. Academic research focused on exposing the cruelty of physical punishment and on the role of teaching in exercising relations of power and domination, but without focusing on the children or the dynamics in which correction was part of everyday life where reward-based stimuli were also abundant. To demonstrate this, research was conducted under the approach of Social and Cultural History, using official sources and references such as photographs, advertisements, comic books, or novels, through which are evidenced some of the stimuli and satisfiers that families, often through a strong economic sacrifice, provided to their children so that they were able to go to school. Among the conclusions, it is noteworthy that what was once considered common practices, over time, is no longer so, and that what was unthinkable, with progressivism, is now the norm. The current rejection of physical and psychological violence among and towards the school population is no exception.

Resumen Siete años después de su publicación en Francia, en 1987 se publicó en Brasil la versión en portugués del libro de Christophe Dejours, intitulado “A loucura do trabalho: estudo de psicopatologia do trabalho” (“El desgaste mental en el trabajo: ensayo de psicopatología del trabajo”). Brasil atravesaba entonces un momento de regreso a la democratización, con la valorización de los derechos sociales, incluidos los valores sociales del trabajo. Este escenario hizo con que el libro encontrara un terreno fértil para su acogida. Abstract In 1987, seven years after its publication in France, the inaugural book by Christophe Dejours, “A loucura do trabalho, estudo de psicopatologia do trabalho” (“Travail, usure mentale: de la psychopathologie à la psychodynamique du travail”), was published in Brazil. At the time, Brazil was undergoing a period of redemocratization, with an emphasis on social rights, including the social values of work. This context provided fertile ground for the book's reception. RESUMO O potássio é um dos nutrientes mais importantes para o algodoeiro, sendo um elemento que participa de muitas funções fisiológicas na planta. Além disso, sua adequada disponibilidade favorece melhor desempenho produtivo à cultura. Logo, objetivou-se avaliar nesta pesquisa os componentes agronômicos em cultivares de algodão naturalmente colorido adubadas com doses de potássio no Semiárido brasileiro. Para isto, dois experimentos foram conduzidos na Fazenda Experimental Rafael Fernandes, localizada no município de Mossoró, RN, nos períodos de julho a novembro de 2019 e julho a novembro de 2021. O delineamento experimental foi o de blocos casualizados, arranjados em parcelas subdivididas, com quatro repetições. Nas parcelas, foram alocadas as doses de potássio (0, 60, 120, 180 e 240 kg ha-1 de K2O); e, nas subparcelas, as quatro cultivares de algodão naturalmente colorido (BRS Rubi, BRS Safira, BRS Verde e BRS Topázio). As cultivares de algodão colorido respondem à adubação potássica em função das condições edafoclimáticas as quais estão expostas. A cultivar BRS Topázio obteve maior produtividade e porcentagem de fibra nas duas safras de cultivo, destacando o seu potencial para a região. ABSTRACT Potassium is one of the most important nutrients for the cotton plant, being an element that participates in many physiological functions. In addition, its adequate availability favors better production performance of the crop. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate the agronomic components in naturally colored cotton cultivars fertilized with potassium doses in the Brazilian semiarid region. For this, two experiments were conducted at Rafael Fernandes Experimental Farm, located in the municipality of Mossoró, RN, from July to November 2019 and July to November 2021. The experimental design was randomized blocks, arranged in split plots, with four repetitions. Potassium doses (0, 60, 120, 180, and 240 kg ha-1 of K2O) were allocated in the plants; and four naturally colored cotton cultivars (BRS Rubi, BRS Safira, BRS Verde, and BRS Topázio) were allocated in the subplots. Colored cotton cultivars respond to potassium fertilization depending on the edaphoclimatic conditions to which they are exposed. BRS Topázio cultivar had higher lint cotton yield and fiber percentage in both growing seasons, highlighting its potential for the region. RESUMO A correlação canônica é usada para correlacionar grupos de variáveis distintas. O objetivo deste estudo foi utilizar análise de correlação canônica para avaliar a interação entre atributos de qualidade da água causadores de entupimento e o desempenho hidráulico de gotejadores não autocompensantes operando com diluições de efluente de aquicultura em água de poço. ABSTRACT The canonical correlation is used to correlate groups of distinct variables. The objective of this study was to use canonical correlation analysis to evaluate the interaction between water quality attributes clogging-causing and the hydraulic performance of non-pressure compensating drippers operating with dilutions of aquaculture effluent in well water. Abstract The research was performed in the cycle 2020, with the objective of determining the chemical characteristics of the soil and water quality in the municipalities of Miahuatlán de Porfirio Díaz and Ejutla de Crespo, Oaxaca, Mexico. The soil and water were sampled, the content of cations, anions and water quality variables were determined. High concentrations of Ca and Mg were recorded in the soil with average values of up to 19.20 and 19.42 mEq L-1 respectively. High concentrations of Ca2+, Mg2+ and HCO3 - were recorded in the water with average values of up to 4.79, 4.32 and 7.97 mEq L-1 respectively. According to the variables SP, RAS, IS and CSR, the water is classified as suitable for irrigation. It is concluded that the use of acids is necessary to lower the pH of the water and neutralize the carbonates.

Resumen La investigación se realizó en el ciclo 2020, con el objetivo de determinar las características químicas del suelo y calidad del agua en los municipios de Miahuatlán de Porfirio Díaz y Ejutla de Crespo, Oaxaca, México. Se muestreo el suelo y agua, se determinó contenido de cationes, aniones y variables de calidad del agua. En el suelo se registró alta concentración de Ca2+ y Mg2+ con valores promedio de hasta 19.20 y 19.42 mEq L-1 respectivamente. En el agua se registró alta concentración de Ca2+, Mg2+ y HCO3 - con valores promedio de hasta 4.79, 4.32 y 7.97 mEq L-1 respectivamente. Según las variables SP, RAS, IS y CSR el agua se clasifica como adecuada para riego. Se concluye que el uso de ácidos es necesario para bajar el pH del agua y neutralizar los carbonatos.

ABSTRACT Tamarind (Tamarindus indica L.) is a species with promising potential for commercial production; therefore, studies involving practices of conducting culture in the initial stage are essential. The present study aimed to evaluate different shading levels and substrate compositions in the seedling production of tamarind. The experimental design was completely randomized in a 4×4 factorial scheme, four levels of shading (0%, 18%, 30%, and 50%) and four substrates (pine bark-based substrate pure and mixed with 50% vermiculite, and sphagnum peat-based substrate pure and mixed with 50% vermiculite), with four replicates of four seedlings. Growth and biometric relationships were evaluated at 40 and 98 d after transplantation (DAT). The results reported that seedlings formed on the sphagnum peat-based substrate on pure or associated with vermiculite at 98 DAT had a height greater than 35 cm and a total 8.5 g DM. In contrast, seedlings produced in pine bark-based substrate did not reach 20 cm in height and had less than 3 g total DM. The condition of 30% and 50% shading promoted greater growth in height, reaching an average height greater than 40 cm, while in the full sun environment, seedlings showed an average of less than 35 cm; however, for the other variables, full sun environment did not differ from 30% shading, producing good quality seedlings. Thus, the cultivation of seedlings in an environment with 0% or 30% shading, associated with the sphagnum peat-based substrate pure or mixed with 50% vermiculite promoted the production of tamarind seedlings with vigorous growth. In the best environments, the best substrates increased, on average, 41.3% number of leaves, 80.5% shoot dry mass, 56.8% root dry mass, and 71.0% total dry mass. In the best substrates, the best environments increased, on average, 18.0% number of leaves, 20.7% shoot dry mass, 8.7% root dry mass, and 14.3% total dry mass.

Por apresentar alta diversidade genética, essa espécie possui cultivares que podem responder de maneiras diferentes em função da adubação mineral. Dentre os nutrientes, o fósforo está relacionado com processos fisiológicos e bioquímicos que podem influenciar na qualidade final do produto. Este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar a influência de doses de P na qualidade e compostos bioativos de cultivares de batata-doce - Paraná, BRS Amélia e BRS Cuia. Due to its high genetic diversity, this species has cultivars that can respond in different ways depending on mineral fertilization. Among the nutrients, phosphorus is related to physiological and biochemical processes that can influence the final quality of the product. RESUMO: Uma das principais questões relacionadas ao manejo de leguminosas forrageiras é o fato de que essas plantas podem ser encontradas em uma ampla diversidade de morfológica, estruturais e de hábitos de crescimento. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar características morfológicas, estruturais e produtivas de leguminosas forrageiras com diferentes hábitos de crescimento [Clitoria ternatea L.; Desmanthus pernambucanus (L.) Thellung; e Stylosanthes spp. cv. Campo Grande], em resposta a duas frequências de colheita (60 e 90 dias). O delineamento experimental foi inteiramente casualizado em blocos, com esquema de parcelas subdivididas e quatro repetições (n=4). O tipo de leguminosa forrageira influenciou no número de ramos secundários, número de folhas por ramo, índice de área foliar (IAF), interceptação luminosa (IL), porcentagem de folhas e colmos (%), razão folha/colmo e produção de vagens (P<0,05). D. pernambucanus apresentou os menores IL e IAF (P<0,05). Stylosanthes spp. cv. Campo Grande e C. ternatea apresentaram maior porcentagem de folhas e relação folha/colmo (P<0,05). Houve efeito da frequência de colheita na porcentagem de produção de hastes, folhas e vagens e na produção total (P<0,05). Frequências de colheita mais longas afetaram de forma diferente as leguminosas forrageiras avaliadas, principalmente o acúmulo de caules em D. pernambucanus, que apresentou aumento intenso após 60 dias de crescimento. A escolha da melhor frequência de colheita para essas leguminosas avaliadas deve levar em consideração a sua forma de uso. ABSTRACT: One of the main issues related to the management of forage legumes is the fact that these plants can be found in a broad diversity of morphology, structures and growth habits. This study evaluated the structural and productive characteristics of forage legumes with different growth habits [Clitoria ternatea L.; Desmanthus pernambucanus (L.) Thellung; and Stylosanthes spp. cv. Campo Grande], in response to two harvesting frequencies (60 and 90 days). The experimental design was completely randomized in blocks, with a split-plot scheme and four replications (n=4). The type of forage legume influenced the number of secondary branches, the number of leaves per branch, leaf area index (LAI), light interception (LI), percentage of leaves and stems (%), leaf/stem ratio, and pod production (P<0.05). D. pernambucanus had the lowest LI and LAI (P < 0.05). Stylosanthes spp. cv. Campo Grande and C. ternatea showed a greater leaf percentage and leaf/stem ratio (P < 0.05). There was an effect of the harvesting frequency on the percentage of stems, leaves, pod production, and total production (P < 0.05). Longer harvesting frequencies affected differently these legumes, especially the accumulation of stems in D. pernambucanus, which displayed an intense increase after 60 days of growth. The choice of the best harvesting frequency for these legumes evaluated should consider the proposal of the usage.
