High-density polyethylene (HDPE) geomembranes are commonly used as an environmental protection liner due to their good chemical and mechanical resistances and low cost. Ultraviolet (UV) radiation is an essential issue in durability studies for pond applications. This study evaluated a 1.5-mm thick HDPE geomembrane exposed to ultraviolet fluorescent radiation for 8760 h in a laboratory and thermoanalytical and physical analyses were conducted towards the understanding of its performance after exposure. According to the results, although the geomembrane maintained the ductile behavior, it showed a 52.48% final decrease in stress crack resistance (SCR) compared to virgin SCR. Moreover, a considerable antioxidant depletion occurred after 8760 h exposure shown by the Std. OIT (standard oxidative-induction time) results, demonstrating a Std. OIT value decrease of 89.19% compared to the virgin Std. OIT. RESUMO Os estresses abióticos, como as altas temperaturas, são potencializados pelas mudanças climáticas. O feijão-fava apresenta maior tolerância às altas temperaturas em comparação ao feijãocomum. O conhecimento dessa tolerância as altas temperaturas de germoplasma landraces de feijão-fava é importante para o desenvolvimento de programas de melhoramento. Assim, objetivouse com este trabalho verificar a resposta de variedades crioulas de feijão-fava do Banco de germoplasma de Phaseolus da Universidade Federal do Piauí (BGP-UFPI, Brasil) às altas temperaturas, em dois ambientes. Foram avaliadas as cinco variedades crioulas com maior desempenho emissão de flores e vagens formadas (UFPI-945, UFPI1037, UFPI-876, UFPI-1036 e UFPI-1064) e dois ambientes de cultivo natural (29ºC) e controlado (37ºC), utilizando-se o delineamento inteiramente ao acaso, com quatro repetições, sendo uma planta por parcela. ABSTRACT Effects of abiotic stresses, such as high temperature, on plants are exacerbated by climate change. Lima beans exhibit higher tolerance to high temperatures than the common beans. Understanding the tolerance of lima bean landrace germplasm to high temperatures is important to improve their breeding. Therefore, in this study, we aimed to examine the high temperature responses of lima bean landrace varieties obtained from the Phaseolus Germplasm Bank at Universidade Federal do Piauí (BGP-UFPI, Brazil) in two environments. Five landraces showing the best performance in emission of flowers and number of pods formed (UFPI-945, UFPI1037, UFPI-876, UFPI-1036, and UFPI-1064) were evaluated in two cultivation environments, natural (29 ºC) and controlled (37 ºC), using a completely randomized design with four replications, with each plot consisting of a single plant. Analysis of variance and Tukey’s test (P < 0.05) were performed for 12 quantitative traits, followed by Pearson’s correlation analysis. Lima beans exhibited genetic variability in high temperature tolerance in both natural and controlled environments. Specifically, UFPI-1064 exhibited superior performance with higher pod thickness and width and number of flowers and lower flower and pod abortion than the other varieties in both natural and controlled environments. Resumo O estudo buscou interpretar as dinâmicas de aprendizagem em condições regionais específicas do centro-oeste do Paraná, em torno da educação étnico-racial na formação de pedagogos. Por meio do diálogo entre a Antropologia da Educação e a Psicologia Social, a metodologia das constelações de aprendizagem foi utilizada para investigar a formação inicial (2005-2015), a prática pedagógica (2015-2017) e o curso de formação continuada sobre a educação para as relações étnico-raciais (2015-2017). Os professores foram selecionados por meio desses recortes educacionais, a partir dessa formação continuada. A região do centro-oeste do Paraná concentra o maior número de grupos étnico-raciais do estado por comunidades indígenas (Kaingang e Guarani) e quilombolas, o que oportuniza, a priori, uma aproximação com essas comunidades tradicionais e a dinâmica de seus saberes. No entanto, diante de situações de conflito de terras, os saberes etnocêntricos prevaleceram na centralidade da formação de pedagogos, o que gerou práticas refratárias contra os saberes étnico-raciais. Abstract The study aimed to highlight the learning dynamics within specific local conditions of Mid-West of Paraná State, focusing on ethnic-racial issues in Pedagogy formation. Drawing on Anthropology of Education and Social Psychology, the research employed the methodology of learning constellations to investigate the graduation in Pedagogy (2005-2015), their pedagogical practices (2015-2017) and ongoing formation related to education to racial-ethnic relationships. Teachers were selected based on these educational experiences, specifically those who participated in the ongoing formation. The Mid-West of Parana State, Brazil, concentrated most of indigenous (Kaingang and Guarani) and quilombolas communities, contributing to, a priori, an encounter with those traditional communities and their knowledge dynamics. Resumen La investigación buscó interpretar la dinámica del aprendizaje en condiciones regionales específicas del Medio Oeste de Paraná, en torno a la educación étnico-racial en la formación de educadores. Se eligió la metodología de las constelaciones de aprendizajes a través de la antropología de la educación y de la Psicología Social para investigar la formación inicial (2005-2015), la práctica pedagógica (2015-2017) y el curso de educación permanente sobre la educación para las relaciones étnicas-raciales (2015-2017). Los profesores fueron seleccionados por medio de estos recortes educativos a partir del curso de educación permanente. La región del Medio Oeste de Paraná agrega el mayor número de grupos estatales étnicos-raciales por comunidades indígenas (Kaingang y Guarani) y Quilombolas. Esta concentración inicialmente ofrecía una aproximación con estas comunidades tradicionales y la dinámica de su conocimiento. Resumen Objetivo: comprobar si el seguimiento telefónico agrega efecto a la aplicación de Intervenciones Breves para el uso de alcohol entre las mujeres embarazadas. Metodología: se trata de un ensayo clínico controlado y aleatorizado, abierto, paralelo, de dos brazos. Los datos fueron recolectados en la atención primaria de salud en São Carlos y el Centro de Referencia para la Salud de la Mujer en Ibaté (São Paulo, Brasil). Se realizó un seguimiento de las mujeres embarazadas que consumieron cualquier cantidad de alcohol durante el embarazo. Posteriormente, fueron distribuidos aleatoriamente en dos grupos. El grupo de control recibió solo una breve intervención; el grupo experimental recibió una intervención breve y fue monitoreado semanalmente por teléfono durante dos semanas después de la intervención. Se utilizó un programa estadístico para realizar estadísticas descriptivas e inferenciales (Test de Wilcoxon). Resultados: Hubo una reducción en el consumo en ambos grupos. Sin embargo, solo en el grupo experimental en el que se implementó la intervención con seguimiento, hubo abstinencia en todo el grupo (AUDIT-C: p-valor=0,011; T-ACE: p-valor=0,010). Conclusiones: Las intervenciones breves asociadas al seguimiento telefónico durante el embarazo demostraron ser efectivas para detener el consumo de alcohol. Abstract Objective: to test whether telephone monitoring adds effect to the application of Brief Interventions for alcohol use among pregnant women. Methodology: this is a controlled and randomized clinical trial, open, parallel, with two arms. Data were collected in primary health care in São Carlos and Reference Center for Women's Health in Ibaté (São Paulo, Brazil). Pregnant women who consumed any amount of alcohol during pregnancy were tracked. Afterwards, they were randomly allocated into two groups. The control group received only a brief intervention; the experimental group received a brief intervention and were monitored weekly by telephone for two weeks after the intervention. A statistical program was used to perform descriptive and inferential statistics (Wilcoxon Test). Results: There was a reduction in consumption in both groups. However, only in the experimental group in which the intervention with monitoring was implemented, there was abstinence in the entire group (AUDIT-C: p-value=0.011; T-ACE: p-value=0.010). Conclusions: Brief interventions associated with telephone monitoring during pregnancy proved to be effective in stopping alcohol consumption. Os dados foram coletados na atenção primária à saúde de São Carlos e Centro de Referência de Saúde da Mulher em Ibaté (São Paulo, Brasil). Foram rastreadas gestantes que consumiram qualquer quantidade de álcool na gestação. Após, foram alocadas aleatoriamente em dois grupos. O grupo controle recebeu apenas uma intervenção breve; o grupo experimental recebeu uma intervenção breve e foi monitorado semanalmente por telefone nas duas semanas posteriores à intervenção. Utilizou-se programa estatístico para realização de estatísticas descritivas e inferencial (Teste de Wilcoxon). Resultados: Houve redução do consumo nos dois grupos. Porém, apenas no grupo experimental em que foi implementado intervenção com monitoramento, houve abstinência de todo o grupo (AUDIT-C: p-valor=0,011; T-ACE: p-valor=0,010). Conclusões: Intervenções breves associadas a monitoramento telefônico durante a gestação se mostraram efetivas para a cessação do consumo de álcool. Resumo Introdução: O médico de família desenvolve uma abordagem centrada na pessoa, orientada para o indivíduo, a família e a comunidade em que se insere, sendo a empatia a chave-mestra desta relação. Objetivos: Compreender a relação médico-doente no contexto dos cuidados de saúde primários (CSP) do Nordeste Transmontano. Métodos: Foi realizado um estudo descritivo com uma amostra de utentes de CSP. Os dados demográficos (sexo biológico - classificação binária, idade, concelho de residência e escolaridade), perguntas acerca da perceção dos CSP e a aplicação da Escala de Empatia de Jefferson (JSPPPE-VP) foram recolhidos através de uma plataforma online, recorrendo à divulgação pelas redes sociais, e em formato físico nos CSP da Unidade Local de Saúde do Nordeste. A análise estatística descritiva foi realizada com recurso ao software IBM SPSS® Statistics. Resultados: A amostra incluiu 584 indivíduos (idade mediana: 45 anos), maioritariamente mulheres (67,47%), com um nível de escolaridade não graduado (57,71%). A maioria dos inquiridos (75,51%) revela que o seu médico de família é a primeira pessoa a quem recorrem quando têm um problema de saúde, considerando que este tem as capacidades necessárias para a melhor orientação dos seus problemas de saúde (69,52%). Relativamente à acessibilidade, 61,30% e 60,96% considera, respetivamente, que o acesso à marcação de consulta e esclarecimento de dúvidas pontuais é fácil. Dos inquiridos, 22,95% discorda do tempo médio de consulta praticado (20 minutos), defendendo uma duração de 30 minutos. Quando aplicada a JSPPPE-VP, cerca de 50,00% dos indivíduos responderam que estão bastante ou totalmente de acordo com as afirmações que se encontram ao longo de toda a escala. Conclusões: A amostra obtida revela uma satisfação global relativamente à prestação, acessibilidade e qualidade dos serviços, bem como à duração da consulta. Além disso, pode-se concluir que existe uma elevada satisfação com a empatia do médico de família.

Abstract Introduction: The family doctor develops a person-centered approach, oriented toward the individual, the family, and the community in which he is inserted, with empathy being the major key to this relationship. Objectives: Understand the doctor-patient relationship in the context of primary health care (PHC) in the Northeast of Portugal. Methods: A descriptive study was carried out with a sample of PHC. Demographic data (biological sex-binary classification, age, county of residence, and education), questions about the perception of PHC, and the application of the Jefferson Empathy Scale (JSPPPE-VP) were collected through an online platform with the dissemination of information through social media and physical format in PHC of the Unidade Local de Saúde do Nordeste. Descriptive statistical analysis was performed using the IBM SPSS® Statistics software. Results: The sample consisted of 584 individuals (median age: 45 years old), mostly women (67.47%), with an undergraduate level of education (57.71%). Most people (75.51%) say that their family doctor is the first person that they turn to when they have a health problem because they believe he has the necessary skills to better manage their health problems (69.52%). In terms of accessibility, 61.30% and 60.96% respectively consider that it is easy to get an appointment and to clarify specific doubts. Of the respondents, 22.95% did not agree with the average duration of consultations (20 minutes), preferring 30 minutes. When the JSPPE-VP was applied, approximately 50.00% of the respondents indicated that they strongly or completely agreed with all the items evaluated. Conclusions: The sample obtained showed overall satisfaction with the provision, accessibility, and quality of services, as well as the duration of the consultation. It can also be concluded that there is a high level of satisfaction with the empathy of the family doctor.

RESUMO OBJETIVO Avaliar a associação entre a idade gestacional e as áreas verdes, áreas construídas urbanas e a concentração de material particulado 2,5 (MP2,5) em São Paulo, analisando a distribuição irregular dessas áreas e os níveis de poluição acima do recomendado. MÉTODOS A população utilizada no estudo foi a dos nascidos vivos no ano de 2012, com os dados do Sistema de Informações sobre Nascidos Vivo (Sinasc) na cidade de São Paulo. Por meio de imagens de satélites e realizando a classificação supervisionada, obtivemos a distribuição e quantidade de áreas verdes e de áreas construídas, na cidade de São Paulo, assim como as concentrações de MP2,5. Regressões logísticas foram utilizadas para obter possíveis associações. RESULTADOS Os resultados do estudo mostram que menor percentual de áreas verdes está associado significativamente com maior chance de prematuridade. Maior densidade de construção foi associada positivamente com a razão de chance de nascimento prematuro. Não encontramos resultados significativos entre a poluição do ar (MP2,5) e prematuridade. CONCLUSÕES Os resultados deste estudo demostraram que áreas mais verdes em relação às áreas menos verdes são menos associadas a nascimentos prematuros.

ABSTRACT OBJECTIVE To evaluate the association between gestational age and green areas, urban built areas, and the concentration of particulate matter 2.5 (PM2.5) in the city of São Paulo, analyzing the irregular distribution of these areas and pollution levels above the recommended level. METHODS The study population consisted of a cohort of live births from 2012, and data from the Live Birth Information System (Sinasc) of the city of São Paulo were used. Using satellite images and supervised classification, the distribution and quantity of green areas and built areas in the city of São Paulo was obtained, as well as the concentrations of PM2.5. Logistic regressions were used to obtain possible associations. RESULTS The results of the study show that a lower percentage of green areas is significantly associated with a higher chance of preterm births. A higher building density was positively associated with the odds ratio for preterm birth. We did not find any significant associations between air pollution (PM2.5) and preterm births. CONCLUSIONS The results of this study show that greener areas are less associated with preterm births when compared with less green areas.

Abstract Objective To measure the average time for the diagnosis and for the therapeutic prescription of Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) at a hospital in Botucatu Medical School - State University São Paulo, UNESP. Method A retrospective observational study was carried out by collecting data from the electronic medical records of patients over 18-years of age, who had a diagnostic polysomnography testing scheduled between January and December 2017. Result Of the 347 patients eligible for the study, 94 (27.1%) missed follow-up and 103 (29.7%) had a referral for CPAP use. Until February 2021, only 37 (35.9%) of these patients had already acquired and were using the device, the remaining 66 (64.1%) were waiting or gave up the therapy. The mean value of the waiting time interval between the referral of the diagnostic test and its performance was equivalent to 197 days (6.5 months). The mean time between diagnostic polysomnography and CPAP prescription was 440-days (14.5-months), with a total mean time of 624 days (21-months). Conclusion As in other services, the diagnostic-therapeutic flow proved to be highly inefficient, with a long waiting period, difficult access to treatment and a high dropout rate. These findings highlight the need to establish new patient-centered strategies with measures that speed up the flow and facilitate access to CPAP, in order to reduce the morbidity and mortality associated with this condition. RESUMO O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a inclusão de níveis crescentes de torta de crambe, sobre a digestibilidade in vitro da matéria seca (DIVMS), matéria orgânica (DIVMO) e proteína bruta, cinética da produção cumulativa de gás e parâmetros de fermentação. Foram avaliadas as inclusões de 0; 50; 100; 150 g / kg de MS em dietas. Houve efeito quadrático das proporções de torta de crambe nos suplementos concentrados para DIVMS e DIVMO (ponto máximo em 0,25 e 0,91 g Kg-1 DM, respectivamente). A produção total de gás (A + D) foi influenciada por a presença de torta de crambe com efeito quadrático tendo como ponto mínimo em 0,02 g kg-1 DM. Houve um efeito quadrático do pH e NH3-N nos tempos de coleta em todas as dietas, os menores valores de pH foram observados entre 4,8 a 8,7 e os picos de produção de NH3-N entre 4,8 e 6,3 horas após o início da incubação. Conclui-se que a substituição do farelo de soja por crambe triturado até 150 g kg-1 em suplementos concentrados para ruminantes não prejudica a cinética de degradação ruminal. ABSTRACT Aimed with this study was evaluate the increasing levels of crambe crushed, on in vitro digestibility of dry matter (IVDDM), organic matter (IVDOM) and crude protein (IVDCP), parameters of fermentation and kinetics of the cumulative gas production. The crushed crambe were included in the diets at 0; 50; 100; 150 g/kg of DM. There was a quadratic effect of the proportions of crambe crushed in the concentrated supplements on IVDDM and IVDOM (maximum point at 0.25 and 0.91 g Kg-1 DM, respectively). Total gas production (A + D) was influenced by the presence of crambe crushed with quadratic effect on minimal point on 0.02 g Kg-1 DM. There was a quadratic effect for pH in the collection times in all diets, the lowest pH values were observed between 4.8 to 8.7 hours. There was a quadratic effect for ammoniacal nitrogen in the collection times in all diets with peaks of NH3-N production occurred between 4.8 and 6.3 hours after the beginning of the incubation. ABSTRACT Seven strawberry genotypes were analyzed in order to differentiate fruit production and quality. The discarded leaves (by-product) were also used to characterize their phytochemical profile with a view to potential use in the pharmaceutical and agricultural industries. The multivariate analysis gave rise to heterogeneous groups among the seven genotypes. ‘Fronteras’ and ‘Monterey’ were the most productive. ‘Camino Real’ produced fruits with the highest polyphenols concentrations. ‘Fronteras’ produced leaves with the best phytochemical profile and, together with ‘Camino Real’, the highest antioxidant activity. Resumo Introdução Fraturas de colo do fêmur e osteoartrose no quadril afetam a independência funcional de idosos. A artroplastia de quadril (AQ) é uma cirurgia para tratar essas condições e a fisioterapia pode reduzir o nível de dependência funcional. Objetivo Comparar o nível de dependência funcional pré e pós-operatório de idosos submetidos à AQ, avaliar a associação entre dependência funcional e independência funcional e verificar se a idade está associada à pior dependência funcional destes pacientes. Métodos Estudo transversal, descritivo, quantitativo e de associação, onde voluntários idosos submetidos à AQ foram avaliados no pré e pós-operatório usando o índice de Katz e a Medida de Independência Funcional (MIF). A análise comparativa foi realizada com os testes estatísticos Wilcoxon pareado e correlação de Spearman. Uma regressão linear examinou a influência da dependência funcional na independência pós-operatória (p < 0,05). Resultados Quarenta e oito pacientes foram avaliados tanto no pré quanto no pós-operatório por meio do índice Katz, observando-se uma redução da dependência funcional após o procedimento de AQ. A avaliação da MIF demonstrou que houve aumento da independência funcional no pós-operatório, demonstrando que o procedimento cirúrgico associado à fisioterapia precoce, enquanto o paciente ainda está hospitalizado, promoveu a independência funcional. Além disto, houve uma relação diretamente proporcional entre nível de dependência e idade. Conclusão A dependência funcional reduziu após a cirurgia de AQ e aumentou a independência em idosos. Abstract Introduction Femur fractures and hip osteoarthritis affect the functional independence of older adults. Hip arthroplasty (HA) is a surgery to treat these conditions and physiotherapy can reduce functional dependence levels. Objective Compare pre- and postoperative functional dependence in older adults submitted to HA, assess the association between functional dependence and independence, and whether age is associated with greater functional dependence in these patients. Methods A quantitative cross-sectional descriptive comparative study with older adult volunteers submitted to HA evaluated before and after surgery using the Katz index and Functional Independence Measure (FIM). Comparative analysis was performed via Wilcoxon’s matched pairs test and Spearman’s correlation. Linear regression was applied to assess the influence of functional dependence on postoperative independence (p < 0.05). Results Forty-eight patients were evaluated in the pre- and postoperative stages using the Katz index, which demonstrated reduced functional dependence after HA. The FIM assessment indicated greater post-operative functional dependence, demonstrating the surgical procedure combined with early physiotherapy while patients were hospitalized promoted functional independence in older adults. Scaffolds are devices with interconnected pores that favor cell interaction and proliferation. They play a significant role in tissue engineering, as they mimic the conditions of tissue production in vivo. The aim of this study was to synthesize scaffolds of chitosan, collagen, and Jatropha mollissima by lyophilization and characterize their chemical/biodegradability and morphological properties. For that, techniques of optical microscopy, infrared spectrometry, biodegradation test, and degree of swelling were performed. A 2% (m/v) chitosan/collagen (1:9) in lactic acid solution was produced. Then, Jatropha mollissima crude extract was added to this solution in different proportions of mass (5, 10, and 15%). Optical microscope images indicated the three-dimensional network formation with interconnected pores and predominantly lamellar shape. Through infrared spectrometry, characteristic bands indicated a physical mixture. Also, the swelling degree of all samples was proportional to the amount of Jatropha mollissima extract with the highest percentage of 1852%. Biodegradation test also revealed a proportional ratio between the amount of sap used and the degraded percentage with the lowest value of around 35% in 28 days. ABSTRACT Sugarcane irrigation is one of the main technologies to increase productivity and profitability in the sugar-energy sector. However, to improve the management of water resources in Brazil, growers need to obtain a water rights permitfrom regulatory agencies. The calculation of water rights is determined from data based on estimates of rainfall and reference evapotranspiration (ETo) provided by the Agência Nacional de Águas e Saneamento Básico (ANA). The primary hypothesis of this study was that the method proposed by ANA to calculate water rights did not provide operational security since it lacked an adequate probabilistic character. As a corollary, we included a secondary hypothesis stating that determining flows through the simplified FAO method proposed in the CROPWAT 8.0 manual displayed vulnerability due to the criteria to choose the representative years. This research aimed to compare such methodologies with a more detailed case study (standard method), taking into account the temporal variability of these estimates, the irrigation criteria, and the probability of occurrence of ETo and rainfall to determine water rights for sugarcane irrigation. MÉTODOS A população utilizada no estudo foi a dos nascidos vivos no ano de 2012, com os dados do Sistema de Informações sobre Nascidos Vivo (Sinasc) na cidade de São Paulo. Por meio de imagens de satélites e realizando a classificação supervisionada, obtivemos a distribuição e quantidade de áreas verdes e de áreas construídas, na cidade de São Paulo, assim como as concentrações de MP2,5. Regressões logísticas foram utilizadas para obter possíveis associações. RESULTADOS Os resultados do estudo mostram que menor percentual de áreas verdes está associado significativamente com maior chance de prematuridade. ABSTRACT OBJECTIVE To evaluate the association between gestational age and green areas, urban built areas, and the concentration of particulate matter 2.5 (PM2.5) in the city of São Paulo, analyzing the irregular distribution of these areas and pollution levels above the recommended level. METHODS The study population consisted of a cohort of live births from 2012, and data from the Live Birth Information System (Sinasc) of the city of São Paulo were used. Using satellite images and supervised classification, the distribution and quantity of green areas and built areas in the city of São Paulo was obtained, as well as the concentrations of PM2.5. Logistic regressions were used to obtain possible associations. RESULTS The results of the study show that a lower percentage of green areas is significantly associated with a higher chance of preterm births. A higher building density was positively associated with the odds ratio for preterm birth. We did not find any significant associations between air pollution (PM2.5) and preterm births.
