Resumo Fundamento Análises em grandes registros apontam desfechos desfavoráveis para mulheres submetidas à cirurgia de revascularização do miocárdio (CRM), enquanto estudos randomizados sofrem com a falta de representatividade. Objetivo Comparar os resultados hospitalares ajustados entre homens e mulheres submetidos à CRM. Métodos Entre julho de 2017 e junho de 2019, 3991 pacientes foram submetidos à CRM primária isolada, tanto de forma eletiva como de urgência, em 5 hospitais de estado de São Paulo, Brasil. Para equilibrar as diferenças entre homens e mulheres, as populações foram ajustadas utilizando o Propensity Score Matching. Os desfechos considerados para análise foram os utilizados pelo STS Adult Database. As análises foram conduzidas no software R, considerando significância valores de p < 0,05. Resultados Após o Propensity Score Matching (1:1), cada grupo incluiu 1089 pacientes. Em relação às variáveis intraoperatórias os homens apresentaram maior tempo de CEC (p<0,001), tempo cirúrgico (p<0,001), número de anastomoses distais (p<0,001) e uso de enxertos arteriais. Em relação aos desfechos as mulheres apresentaram maior incidência de infecção de ferida profunda (p=0,006), tempo prolongado na Unidade de Terapia Intensiva (p=0,002), maior necessidade do uso de balão intraórtico (p=0,04), maior taxa de transfusão sanguínea (p<0,001), maior readmissão hospitalar em até 30 dias após a cirurgia (p=0,002) e maior taxa de óbitos (p=0,03). Conclusões Apesar dos homens terem apresentado um maior tempo de CEC, maior número de enxertos arteriais e maior número de anastomoses distais, os resultados imediatos após CRM foram piores em mulheres. Abstract Background Analyses of extensive registries indicate adverse outcomes for women undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery, while randomized studies often lack representativeness. Objective To compare adjusted hospital outcomes between men and women undergoing CABG. Methods From July 2017 to June 2019, 3991 patients underwent primary isolated CABG, both electively and urgently, in 5 hospitals in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. To mitigate demographic differences between men and women, populations were adjusted using propensity score matching (PSM). The outcomes considered for analysis were those used by the STS Adult Database. The analyses were performed using R software, with a significance set at p<0.05. Results After PSM (1:1), each group included 1089 patients. Regarding intraoperative variables, men exhibited longer cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) time (p<0.001), surgical time (p<0.001), a higher number of distal anastomoses (p<0.001), and increased use of arterial grafts. Abstract Background In view of the high prevalence of hypertension and the importance of adequate drug therapy in the prevention of complications, it is necessary to know the adherence to drug treatment in this population. Objective To verify adherence to antihypertensive drug treatment in Brazilian patients with hypertension using the Morisky-Green Test (MGT), relating it with demographic data. Methods Prospective, observational, multicenter, national registry study, with 2,578 hypertensive patients participating in study I, the Brazilian Cardiovascular Registry of Arterial Hypertension (I-RBH), recruited in the five regions of Brazil. The analyses carried out on the data were descriptive statistics, qui-square tests, ANOVA, and logistic regression, adopting 5% as the significance level for the tests. Results The research shows that 56.13% of patients in the sample were female; 56.71% were elderly (≥ 65 years); 55.86% were White; 52.37% were from the Southeast Region; and 59.74% were non-adherent. Logistic regression showed an independent relationship between patients’ age, ethnicity, and region with medication adherence. Conclusion Adherence to treatment is the key to reducing high rates of cardiovascular complications. The study brings a successful outcome in the relationship between the factors ethnicity, age, and region of patients with hypertension and medication adherence. To this end, it is necessary to understand these factors, considering systematic evaluation in the care of patients with hypertension and other chronic non-communicable diseases. Abstract This study explored the effects of L-PRF on pain, soft tissue healing, periodontal condition, and post-extraction bone repair of mandibular third molars (3Ms). A randomized, prospective, triple-blind, split-mouth clinical trial was conducted with 34 volunteers. Eligible patients were randomly allocated into two treatments: G1 (without L-PRF), G2 (alveoli filled with L-PRF), in which the removal of bilateral 3Ms was performed at the same surgical time. Outcomes were assessed according to a visual analogue scale (pain), soft tissue scoring system (wound healing), periodontal probing of mandibular second molar. Bone repair was determined by volumetric analysis (ITK-SNAP software) and fractal analysis (ImageJ software). An intention-to-treat approach to Statistical analysis was used. L-PRF reduced pain in the 7-day postoperative follow-up (p = 0.019) and not only improved soft tissue healing after 1 month of follow-up (p = 0.021), but also probing depth (distal face) in 3 months postoperatively (p = 0.011). Significant alveolar reduction occurred in 3 months after surgery in both treatments (p < 0.05), however, this was more significant in G1 (p = 0.016). The fractal dimension showed no statistical differences. L-PRF improved postoperative clinical parameters of pain, soft tissue healing, and periodontal condition, suggesting that it has a beneficial effect on preserving the alveolar ridge and accelerating the initial repair process. Abstract Socioemotional skills are essential for students’ development at school. However, school support has barely generated debates. We aimed to analyze the evidence of the internal structure and convergent-discriminant validity of the scores of the forced-choice version of the Inventory of Supporting for Socio-Emotional Skills (ISSE). In total, 443 middle and high school students (54% of whom were girls) participated in this study. Results indicated that the revised instrument was consistent with its two-dimension theoretical model (support and demand); the forced-choice version showed an appropriate internal structure and no bias by acquiescence. Moreover, based on a multitrait-multimethod matrix, the scores of the Likert forced-choice version showed convergent and discriminant validity. Resumo Fundamento: A identificação de fatores de riscos na cirurgia cardiovascular auxilia na previsibilidade resultando na otimização de desfechos e redução de custos. Objetivo: Identificação dos preditores de risco pré e intraoperatórios para internação prolongada após cirurgia de revascularização do miocárdio (CRM) no Estado de São Paulo. Métodos: Análise transversal no banco de dados REPLICCAR II, registro prospectivo, consecutivo, multicêntrico que incluiu cirurgias de revascularização miocárdica realizadas entre agosto de 2017 e julho de 2019. O desfecho principal foi o tempo de internação prolongado, definida como período de pós-operatório superior a 14 (quatorze) dias. Para a identificação dos preditores foram realizadas análises de regressão logística uni- e multivariada. Os valores de p menores de 0,05 foram considerados significativos. Dos 3703 pacientes analisados, 228 (6,16%) apresentaram longa permanência hospitalar (LPH) após a CRM e a mediana da internação foi de 17 (16-20) dias. Foram preditores da LPH após a CRM: idade >60 anos (OR 2,05; IC95% 1,43 - 2,87; p<0,001); insuficiência renal (OR 1,73; IC95% 1,29 - 2,32; p<0,001) e transfusão de hemácias no intraoperatório (OR 1,32; IC 1,07 - 2,06; p=0,01). Conclusão: Nesta análise, a idade > 60 anos, insuficiência renal e a transfusão de hemácias no intraoperatório foram preditores independentes de LPH após a CRM. Abstract Background: Identifying risk factors in cardiovascular surgery assists in predictability, resulting in optimization of outcomes and cost reduction. Objective: This study aimed to identify preoperative and intraoperative risk predictors for prolonged hospitalization after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. Methods: A cross-sectional analysis using data from the REPLICCAR II database, a prospective, consecutive, multicenter registry that included CABG surgeries performed between August 2017 and July 2019. The primary outcome was a prolonged hospital stay (PHS), defined as a postoperative period exceeding 14 days. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were performed to identify the predictors with significance set at p <0.05. Results: The median age was 63 (57-70) years and 26.55% of patients were female. Among the 3703 patients analyzed, 228 (6.16%) had a PHS after CABG, with a median hospital stay of 17 (16-20) days. Predictors of PHS after CABG included age >60 years (OR 2.05; 95% CI 1.43-2.87; p<0.001); renal failure (OR 1.73; 95% CI 1.29-2.32; p <0.001) and intraoperative red blood cell transfusion (OR 1.32; 95% CI 1.07-2.06; p=0.01). Conclusion: Age >60 years, renal failure, and intraoperative red blood cell transfusion were independent predictors of PHS after CABG. The identification of these variables can help in multiprofessional strategic planning aimed to enhance results and resource utilization in the state of São Paulo. RESUMO Fundamento: Há carência de informações nacionais em relação a terapias utilizadas e evolução nos pacientes com síndrome coronária aguda com elevação de ST (SCACEST). Objetivos: Avaliar as terapias baseadas em evidência, a ocorrência de desfechos, uso de reperfusão e preditores para não receber reperfusão nos pacientes com SCACEST em um registro nacional multicêntrico. Métodos: Pacientes com SCACEST do Registro ACCEPT com até 12 horas de sintomas foram seguidos por 1 ano para ocorrência de eventos cardiovasculares maiores. Um p < 0,05 foi aplicado para todas análises. Resultados: Na análise de 1.553 pacientes, a taxa de reperfusão foi de 76,8%, variando de 47,5% na região Norte a até 80,5% na região Sudeste. A taxa de eventos cardiovasculares maiores foi de 12,5% em 1 ano. A prescrição de terapias baseadas em evidência na admissão hospitalar foi de 65,6%. A presença de hipertensão (odds ratio [OR] 1,47; intervalo de confiança [IC] 95% 1,11 a 1,96; p < 0,01), infarto agudo do miocárdio prévio (OR 1,81; IC 95% 1,32 a 2,48; p < 0,001) e as regiões Norte (OR 4,65; IC 95% 2,87 a 7,52; p < 0,001), Centro-Oeste (OR 4,02 IC 95% 1,26 a 12,7; p < 0,05) e Nordeste (OR 1,70; IC 95% 1,17 a 2,46; p < 0,01) foram preditores independentes de não utilização de terapia de reperfusão. ABSTRACT Background: There is a lack of information from Brazil regarding therapies used and outcomes in patients with acute coronary syndrome with ST elevation (STEMI). Objectives: To evaluate evidence-based therapies, occurrence of outcomes, reperfusion use, and predictors of not receiving reperfusion in patients with STEMI in a national multicenter registry. Methods: Patients with STEMI from the ACCEPT registry, with up to 12 hours of symptoms, were followed for 1 year for the occurrence of major adverse cardiovascular events. A significance level of p < 0.05 was applied for all analyses. Results: In the analysis of 1553 patients, the reperfusion rate was 76.8%, ranging from 47.5% in the North Region to 80.5% in the Southeast Region. The rate of major adverse cardiovascular events was 12.5% at 1 year. The prescription of evidence-based therapies at hospital admission was 65.6%. The presence of hypertension (odds ratio [OR] 1.47; 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.11 to 1.96; p < 0.01); prior acute myocardial infarction (OR 1.81; 95% CI 1.32 to 2.48; p < 0.001); and the North (OR 4.65; 95% CI 2.87 to 7.52; p < 0.001), Central-West (OR 4.02; 95% CI 1.26 to 12.7; p < 0.05), and Northeast Regions (OR 1.70; 95% CI 1.17 to 2.46; p < 0.01) were independent predictors of not receiving reperfusion therapy. Conclusion: In the 1-year follow-up of the ACCEPT Registry, we were able to verify a wide variation within Brazilian geographical regions regarding adherence to best care practices. Abstract This study evaluated the construct validity of the instrument Oral Health Literacy among diabetics. A probabilistic random sample of 239 diabetics from an infinite population answered the 10 items of the questionnaire. The structural validity was assessed by confirmatory factor analysis and goodness of fit, chi-square per degrees of freedom ratio (X2/df), comparative fit index (CFI), goodness-of-fit index (GFI), and root-mean-square error of approximation (RMSEA). Internal consistency was estimated by the average variance extracted (AVE) and composite reliability (CR). The scores were dichotomized with the upper limit of the 95% confidence interval as the cutoff point. The three-dimensional model presented good quality parameters (X2 /df = 2.459; CFI = 0.988; TLI = 0.981) and poor RMSEA (0.078). Internal consistency was adequate; AVE for the Access, Understand/appraise, and Apply subscales were 0.831, 0.981, and 0.954 and the CR for these subscales were 0.893, 0.962, and 0.822, respectively. Inadequate literacy ranged from 41.8 to 48.1%. ABSTRACT Stachytarpheta is one of the largest genera of Verbenaceae, found mainly in the campos rupestres of Brazil. We describe a new species, Stachytarpheta lajedicola, and report for the first time the occurrence of the genus in limestone outcrops. The new species is endemic to the Caatinga domain, northern Minas Gerais state, growing in an open karst formation of the municipality of Matias Cardoso, locally known as Lajedão. Its main diagnostic characteristics are the branches with well-developed longitudinal edges, leaves with attenuate to caudate apex, and inflorescences with linear bracts, exceeding the calyx in length. We provide a detailed description, illustrations, photographs, a geographic occurrence map, and comparisons with the morphologically similar species. Resumo Em 2013, no Brasil, emergem na cena política diversos agrupamentos políticos identificados com a direita política e unidos contra a esquerda e a permanência do Partido dos Trabalhadores no governo brasileiro. Este estudo investiga esse fenômeno no contexto da região Nordeste do Brasil. Seu objetivo é compreender como a militância de direita, em uma cidade média nordestina, organiza discursivamente uma identidade para si e para os grupos que elegem como antagonistas. Com o uso do método de análise de discurso, o estudo investiga transcrições de entrevistas realizadas com nove membros dessa militância. As categorias conservador, libertário e liberal foram usadas como posições de autoidentificação por esses militantes. O modo como descrevem essas categorias revela a pluralidade da direita, evidenciando as complexas relações e as contradições presentes no seu interior.

Abstract In 2013, Brazil saw the emergence of several political groups identified with right-wing politics and united against the left and the Worker’s Party consecutive administration. This paper investigates the characteristics of this phenomenon in northeastern Brazil to understand how right-wing militancy discursively organizes its identity and that of groups it chooses as antagonists. Based on discourse analysis, the study analyzes transcripts of interviews conducted with nine members of this militancy. Categories such as conservative, liberal and libertarian were used by the interviewees as self-identifying positions. How they describe these categories reveals the plurality of the political right, highlighting its complexity and contradictions.

Resumen En 2013, varios grupos políticos surgieron en la escena política de Brasil identificados con la derecha política y unidos contra la izquierda y la permanencia del Partido de los Trabajadores en el gobierno brasileño. Este estudio investiga este fenómeno en el contexto de la región Nordeste de Brasil con el objetivo de comprender cómo la militancia de derecha, en una ciudad del Nordeste de tamaño mediano, organiza discursivamente una identidad para sí misma y para los grupos que eligen como antagonistas. Utilizando el método de análisis del discurso, este estudio analiza las transcripciones de entrevistas realizadas con nueve miembros de esta militancia. Las categorías conservador, liberal y libertario fueron utilizadas por los militantes como categorías de autoidentificación. La forma en que los militantes describen estas categorías revela la pluralidad de la derecha, destacando las complejas relaciones y contradicciones presentes dentro de ella.

Résumé En 2013, le Brésil a vu l’émergence de plusieurs groupes politiques identifiée à la politique de droite et unis contre la gauche et l’administration du Parti des Travailleurs. Cet article étudie ce phénomène dans le nord-est du Brésil pour comprendre comment le militantisme de droite organise discursivement son identité et celles des groupes qu’ils choisit comme antagonistes. Basée sur l’analyse du discours, l’étude analyse les transcriptions d’entretiens menés avec neuf membres de ce militantisme. Les catégories telles que conservateur, libertaire et libéral ont été utilisées comme des positions d’autoidentification. La façon dont ils décrivent ces catégories révèle la pluralité de la droite, soulignant sa complexité et ses contradictions.

RESUMO Diversas ações humanas têm causado degradação de solos e a revegetação dessas áreas é uma alternativa de recuperação. Contudo, em solos afetados por sais, é fundamental escolher espécies adequadas para a extração de sais do solo. Neste estudo o objetivo foi avaliar o desenvolvimento e a resposta de espécies arbóreo-arbustivas cultivadas em solo degradado por sais, estabelecidas isoladamente ou associadas à espécie fitoextratora de sais, por meio da produção de biomassa e extração de elementos pelas plantas. Um experimento de campo foi instalado em Serra Talhada-PE com oito tratamentos: 1) Atriplex nummularia Lindl., 2) Mimosa caesalpiniifolia Benth, 3) Leucaena leucocephala (Lam.) de Wit, 4) Azadirachta indica A. Juss, 5) A. nummularia + M. caesalpiniifolia, 6) A. nummularia + L. leucocephala e 7) A. nummularia + A. indica; em blocos casualizados com quatro repetições. Após 30 meses de cultivo, as plantas foram coletadas e pesadas, analisando-se teores de Na, K, Ca, Mg, Cl, P e N. Plantas de A. indica produziram mais biomassa total (10,75 kg planta-1), cerca de 15 vezes mais que M. caesalpiniifolia, ambas em cultivo associado com A. nummularia. Plantas de A. nummularia extraíram mais Na e Cl na matéria seca, com máximo de 124,70 e 166,79 g planta-1, respectivamente. A mais alta produção de biomassa vegetal (23,55 t ha-1) e extração total de elementos (1438,51 kg ha-1) foi no cultivo associado de A. nummularia e A. indica. O cultivo associado não diminuiu o potencial fitoextrator de A. nummularia, e pode ser utilizado em áreas sob recuperação.

ABSTRACT Anthropogenic actions have caused soil degradation and revegetation is a way to recover degraded soils. However, salt-affected soils require the use of suitable species to extract salts from the soil. This study investigated the growth of shrub and tree species in a soil degraded by salts, alone or associated with a phytoextraction salt species, evaluating plant biomass yield and extraction of elements by plants. A field experiment was assembled with eight treatments: 1) Atriplex nummularia Lindl., 2) Mimosa caesalpiniifolia Benth, 3) Leucaena leucocephala (Lam.) Wit, 4) Azadirachta indica A. Juss, 5) A. nummularia + M. caesalpiniifolia, 6) A. nummularia + L. leucocephala and 7) A. nummularia + A. indica; in randomized blocks with four replications. After 30 months of cultivation, plants were collected to measure biomass and concentrations of Na, K, Ca, Mg, Cl, P, and N. A. indica plants had the highest total biomass (10.75 kg plant-1), about 15 times more than M. caesalpiniifolia, both in associated cultivation with A. nummularia. A. nummularia plants extracted more Na and Cl in the dry matter, maximum of 124.70 and 166.79 g plant-1, respectively. The highest production of plant biomass (23.55 t ha-1) and total extraction of elements (1438.51 kg ha-1) were obtained by associated cultivation of A. nummularia and A. indica. Associated cultivation did not decrease the phytoextractor potential of Na and Cl by A. nummularia plants and it can be used to regenerate degraded areas.

Abstract Aim: This study aimed to describe how specific training for goalkeepers of youth handball teams is planned and executed in Brazil. Methods: This cross-sectional descriptive and quantitative study was based on information from 134 coaches responsible for specific training of handball goalkeepers for youth (under 12 - U12; U14; U16; and U18) teams. The selection of participants was non-randomly for convenience, using the virtual snowball method. The information was obtained through an online self-completion questionnaire carried out by the Google Forms platform. The questionnaire data were tabulated and assessed using the SPSS statistical program, and the information was presented using descriptive statistics. Results: The results show that specific training of goalkeepers occurs in 71.1% of youth handball teams. About the structure of the specific training session, most of it is performed 1 or 2 times a week (70.9%), lasting from 25 to 60 min (73.9%) and given by the team's leading coaches (77.6%). More than half of the participants stated that the training session occurs with the goalkeepers and the person in charge (55.2%). Most participants (69.4%) stated that the teams analyze and assess the goalkeepers' performance, and the training planning takes place weekly (39.6%). Conclusion: This data provides essential information that partially fills gaps in the literature and allows researchers and coaches to reflect on their practices, considering the importance of planning specific training for goalkeepers.
