RESUMO: A seleção de plantas conduzida em pomares comerciais é baseada principalmente nas características da planta. Este trabalho teve como objetivo caracterizar e selecionar genótipos de aceroleira com características promissoras para cultivo na região do Vale do Gurguéia, Piauí. Foram utilizados 25 genótipos, sendo 15 clones (CL 03, CL 08, CL 09, CL 12, CL 13, CL 14, CL 20, CL 23, CL 26, CL 27, CL 30, CL 31, CL 33, CL 36 e CL 38) e 10 cultivares (BRS 235, BRS 236, BRS 237, BRS 238, BRS 366, Sertaneja, Costa Rita, Morena, Tropicana e Junko). O experimento foi instalado no delineamento de blocos casualizados com três blocos e três plantas por unidade experimental no espaçamento de 4 m x 3 m. Um total de 40% dos genótipos avaliados apresentou formato guarda-chuva, 36% formato semiaberto e 24% formato aberto. Os clones 09, 14 e 12 apresentaram o maior potencial de cultivo da região, com produção mensal de 5,01, 4,30 e 3,70 kg planta-¹ por ano e produtividade de 4,16, 3,59 e 3,08 ton ha-¹, respectivamente. O clone 27, as cultivares BRS 236 e BRS 235 e o clone 14 foram os genótipos mais precoces, requerendo 1.503,3, 1.535,6, 1.686,6 e 1.686,6 DD, respectivamente, para completar seu ciclo. Os clones 09 e 14 se destacaram em relação aos demais e são potencialmente promissores para cultivo na região do Vale do Gurgueia. ABSTRACT: Plant selection conducted in commercial orchards is mainly based on plant features. This study characterizes and selects acerola tree genotypes with promising features for cultivation in the Gurguéia Valley region, Piauí. Abstract The objective of this study was to reduce the effects of cryoinjury caused in bovine semen by cryopreservation. Ejaculates were collected from Nellore bulls and subjected to freezing in C (control), ozone (15, 30, and 60 µg mL-1 of ozone), quercetin (25, 50, and 100 µg mL-1 of quercetin), and carnosine groups (100, 200, and 300 ng mL-1 of carnosine). Samples were evaluated post-thaw (M0) and post-rapid thermoresistance test (M30) for sperm kinetics (total motility, progressive motility, curvilinear speed, linearity and amplitude of lateral head displacement) and cell structure viability (plasma membrane integrity, acrosomal integrity, mitochondrial potential, membrane fluidity, and lipid peroxidation). There were no differences (P > 0.05) between the control, quercetin, and carnosine-treated groups for the parameters evaluated at M0 and M30. In turn, supplementation with ozone resulted in lower values for sperm kinetics (P < 0.05) and lower mitochondrial potential at M30 (P < 0.05). Quercetin and carnosine at the concentrations used did not promote significant gains in frozen semen, nor did they demonstrate cytotoxicity. We expected to obtain positive results with the use of ozone. Nonetheless, the addition was harmful to the parameters of sperm kinetics, and its effect was not observed as a possible pro-antioxidant. RESUMO Acidentes que ocorrem no processo de transporte do petróleo e de seus derivados têm sido um dos principais motivos de poluição ambiental nas últimas décadas. Pesquisas sobre alterações ocasionadas por estes poluentes na fisiologia de plantas ainda são escassos, sendo pouco conhecidos os efeitos ocasionados no metabolismo vegetal. Diante do exposto, o objetivo do presente estudo foi analisar o efeito do solo contaminado com óleo diesel na fisiologia de plantas jovens de Hymenaea courbaril L. e Jatropha curcas L. As variáveis analisadas foram: trocas gasosas, pigmentos fotossintéticos, índice de clorofila (SPAD) e danos protoplasmáticos. Os tratamentos utilizados foram: T0 - controle (100% da capacidade máxima de retenção de água no solo - solo sem contaminação), T1 e T2 (50% da capacidade máxima de retenção de água no solo + adição de 23 mL e 46 mL de óleo diesel, respectivamente) e 2 épocas de avaliação (3h e 192h após contaminação). Diferenças significativas foram evidenciadas após 3h de aplicação do óleo diesel para as trocas gasosas para ambas as espécies. Para os pigmentos fotossintéticos e o índice de clorofila, foram verificados incrementos após 3h e 192h de imposição do estresse, para as duas espécies. Verificou-se elevados acréscimos para o percentual de vazamento de eletrólitos, sendo mais pronunciando nas plantas de J. curcas, após 192h, para os tratamentos T1 e T2 em relação ao tratamento T0. Estas observações evidenciam o potencial de aclimatação das espécies às condições adversas, devendo ser consideradas em programas de recuperação de ambientes degradados por contaminação com derivados de petróleo.

ABSTRACT Accidents that occur during the transport of oil and its derivatives have been one of the primary causes of environmental pollution in recent decades. Studies on changes in plant physiology caused by these pollutants are scarce, and the effects on plant metabolism are little known. As such, the aim of the present study was to analyze the effect of soil contaminated with diesel fuel on the physiology of young Hymenaea courbaril L. and Jatropha curcas L. plants. The following variables were analyzed: gas exchanges, photosynthetic pigments, chlorophyll index (SPAD) and protoplasmic damage. The treatments used were: T0 - control (100% of maximum soil water holding capacity - contamination-free soil), T1 and T2 (50% of maximum soil water holding capacity + addition of 23 mL and 46 mL of diesel fuel, respectively) and two assessment times (3h and 192h after contamination). Significant differences in gas exchanges were observed for both species 3h after diesel fuel application. For photosynthetic pigments and the chlorophyll index, increases were found 3h and 192 h after imposed stress, for both species. A significant rise in electrolyte leakage was observed, more pronounced in J. curcas plants after 192h, for treatments T1 and T2 compared to T0. These findings show the potential of species to acclimate themselves to adverse conditions, and should be considered in recovery programs for environments degraded by oil derivatives.

RESUMOEm ambientes naturais, a salinidade representa grande empecilho ao desenvolvimento dos vegetais. Visando à melhor compreensão dos efeitos que ela provoca na fisiologia de espécies arbóreas nativas, este trabalho objetivou avaliar o comportamento fisiológico de mudas de jatobá (Hymenaea courbaril L.) submetidas à salinidade em meio hidropônico. Portanto, um experimento foi realizado em casa de vegetação do Laboratório de Fisiologia Vegetal da Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco, adotando-se um delineamento experimental inteiramente casualizado em arranjo fatorial 3 x 2, composto por três tratamentos salinos: Controle (solução nutritiva sem adição de NaCl), Estresse moderado (adição de 50 mM de NaCl) e Estresse severo (adição de 100 mM de NaCl) e duas épocas de avaliação (1ª época: constatação do fechamento estomático; e 2ª época: após a verificação da abertura estomática das plantas submetidas à salinidade), com 20 repetições em cada tratamento. Durante o estudo, foram verificadas as trocas gasosas, as relações hídricas, os teores de pigmentos fotossintéticos e o acúmulo de solutos orgânicos e inorgânicos. Ao final do experimento, observou-se que as mudas de jatobá se ajustaram osmoticamente após a indução do estresse severo, uma vez que acumularam solutos orgânicos que promoveram a elevação da turgescência foliar, resultando na estabilização das trocas gasosas, mesmo após a submissão ao estresse severo.

ABSTRACTIn natural environments, salinity is a major impediment to the development of plants. Aiming at a better understanding of the effects it causes in the physiology of native tree species, the present study aimed to evaluate the physiological behavior of jatobá (Hymenaea courbaril L.) seedlings subjected to salinity in hydroponics. Therefore, an experiment was conducted in a greenhouse of the Laboratory of Plant Physiology of the Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco, adopting an experimental design completely randomized in a 3 x 2 factorial arrangement consisting of three saline treatments: Control (nutrient solution without addition of NaCl), moderate stress (addition of 50 mM NaCl) and severe stress (addition of 100 mM NaCl) and two evaluation periods (1st time evaluation: Finding the stomatal closure; 2nd time evaluation: After verification of stomatal opening of plants subjected to salinity.), with 20 repetitions for each treatment. During the study gas exchange, water relations, photosynthetic pigments content and accumulation of organic and inorganics solutes were checked. At the end of the experiment it was observed that the seedlings of jatobá adjusted osmotically after induction of severe stress, since they accumulated organic solutes that promoted the elevation of leaf turgor, resulting in stabilization of gas exchange, even after submission to severe stress.

A manutenção da viabilidade das sementes por meio do armazenamento, em condições de ambiente controlado, representa uma das linhas de pesquisa mais importantes para espécies florestais com sementes pouco longevas como as das espécies do gênero Handroanthus. Nesse trabalho procurou-se identificar o comportamento das sementes quanto à longevidade e à condição mais adequada para o armazenamento de sementes de Handroanthus umbellatus. As sementes foram secas até 6,3% de teor de água e submetidas aos seguintes tratamentos de armazenamento: acondicionamento em sacos de papel unifoliado (permeável) em condições não controladas de temperatura e umidade relativa de laboratório (testemunha) e multifoliados (semipermeável) nas temperaturas de -18ºC, 1ºC e 25oC. As sementes armazenadas foram avaliadas trimestralmente até 24 meses quanto ao teor de água, à porcentagem de germinação e ao vigor por meio do teste da primeira contagem. As sementes de Handroanthus umbellatussão ortodoxas, mas de baixa longevidade em condições naturais, pois se mantêm viáveis no ambiente por menos que 5 meses. A melhor condição para a conservação de sementes dessa espécie foi obtida com o armazenamento a -18ºC em sacos multifoliados, que manteve praticamente inalterada a qualidade fisiológica das sementes por 24 meses.

Seed storage under controlled environmental conditions represents one of the most important lines of research to be applied on short-lived forest species as Handroanthus. The present research aimed to identify the most suitable seed storage conditions and longevity behavior of Handroanthus umbellatusseeds subject to the following storage treatments: packaging permeable paper bags under a no-controlled laboratory temperature and humidity (control) and multiwall semipermeable bag at temperatures of -18 ºC, 1 ºC and 25 ºC. Seeds were dried to 6.3% of water content. Stored seeds were evaluated every three months until 24 months for water content, germination percentage and vigor utilizing first counting test. Seeds of T. umbellata are orthodox, with low longevity under natural conditions, once they remain viable for less than 5 months. The best conditions of seed preservation of these species were obtained by storage at -18° C in multiwall bags. Under these conditions physiological seed quality remains unchanged for a 24-month period.

O estudo foi realizado com o objetivo de avaliar o efeito da inclusão de produtos homeopáticos sobre o desempenho e perfil bioquímico sérico de frangos de corte. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi inteiramente casualizado com quatro tratamentos e oito repetições de 20 aves cada, totalizando 640 pintos de corte, machos. Os tratamentos avaliados foram: Controle (dieta sem inclusão de produtos homeopáticos), Fator Pró aves® (FP) (fornecido do 1º aos 42o dias de idade), Fator Estresse aves® (FE) (fornecido até os 14 dias de vida das aves), Fator Estresse aves® + Fator Pró aves® (FE+FP) (FE fornecido até os 14 dias de idade, associado ao fornecimento do FP do 15º aos 42o dias de idade). Os resultados foram submetidos à análise de variância e as médias comparadas pelo teste de Tukey a 5%. A inclusão dos fatores homeopáticos aumentou o peso médio e ganho de peso das aves aos 21dias de idade. Aos 42 dias, foram determinados maior índice de eficiência produtiva e viabilidade (%) para aves consumindo ração com a adição do FP e FE, respectivamente. Não houve diferenças estatísticas entre os parâmetros séricos bioquímicos: proteína total, colesterol, fosfatase alcalina e as transaminases GOT e GPT, entretanto, ocorreu uma diminuição dos níveis de colesterol para as aves alimentadas com a ração contendo o FP. Conclui-se que os produtos homeopáticos não afetam o desempenho das aves aos 42 dias de idade, porém, melhoram o rendimento de carcaça, o índice de eficiência produtiva, a viabilidade e reduzem os níveis de colesterol sérico.

The study was conducted to evaluate the effect of adding homeopathic products on performance and serum biochemical profile of broilers. The experimental design was completely randomized design with four treatments and eight repetitions of 20 birds each, a total of 640 broiler, males. The trataments avalied was: Control (diet without incluision of homeopathic factors), Factor Pro birds® (FP) (supplied from the 1st to 42 days old), Factor Stress birds® (FE) (provided until 14 days of life for birds), Factor Stress birds® + Factor Pro birds® (FS + FP) (FE supplied until 14 days of age, with the supply of the FP 15 to 42 days of age). The results were subjected to analysis of variance and means were compared by Tukey test at 5%. The inclusion of homeopathics products increased the mean weight and weight gain of birds to 21 days of age. At 42 days, were determined greater productive efficiency and viability (%) for broilers consuming diets with the addition of PF and EF, respectively. There were no statistical differences between the serum biochemical parameters total protein, cholesterol, alkaline phosphatase, and transaminases GOT and GPT, however, there was a decrease in cholesterol levels for broilers fed diet containing FP. It is concluded that homeopathic factors do not affect the performance of broilers at 42 days of age, however, improve the carcass yield, productive efficiency, viability and reduce serum cholesterol levels.

OBJETIVO: Analisar a organização da Rede Estadual de Atenção à Saúde Auditiva em Minas Gerais, no ano de 2009, tendo como referência os indicadores de fluxo/atenção ao usuário, de gestão do sistema (metas) e configuração de procedimentos e equipes de referência. MÉTODOS: Estudo de abordagem quantitativa, analítico transversal, que considerou cinco variáveis centrais e nove variáveis complementares, para compreender a organização da Rede nas macrorregiões de saúde. Os dados foram obtidos no Sistema de Informação Ambulatorial e por meio de relatórios da Secretaria de Estado de Saúde de Minas Gerais. Foi realizada análise descritiva das variáveis e, para verificar a correlação entre elas, utilizou-se o Coeficiente de Correlação de Pearson e o teste t de Student. RESULTADOS: Observou-se, entre as macrorregiões, variação no comportamento dos indicadores analisados, sendo que alguns Serviços de Atenção à Saúde Auditiva (SASA) parecem assumir serviços de outras regiões. Em todo o Estado, o valor médio de sessões de terapia fonoaudiológica por paciente, com Aparelho de Amplificação Sonora Individual (AASI), nas macrorregiões, foi de 10. No entanto, a média de produção de terapia foi inferior à média de adaptação de AASI, na maioria das macrorregiões. A grande demanda de adaptação parece estar orientando a organização dos serviços, que tem privilegiado a adaptação e não o acompanhamento, por meio das sessões de terapia individual. CONCLUSÃO: Acredita-se que o maior desafio da Rede seja fortalecer a dimensão da longitudinalidade do cuidado, descentralizadamente, por meio, principalmente, do serviço de fonoaudiologia descentralizada, propiciando maior efetividade aos serviços.

PURPOSE: Analysis of the organization of the Hearing Health Care Network of the State of Minas Gerais in 2009 using as reference the user flow/care indicators, system management (targets), procedure configuration and reference teams. METHODS: Study of quantitative and cross-sectional analytical approach, considering five core variables and nine supplementary variables to understand the organization of the Network in the health macro-regions. The data were obtained from the Outpatient Information System and through reports of the Secretary of Health of the State of Minas Gerais. A descriptive analysis of the variables was made and the Pearson correlation coefficient and Student t test were used to verify the correlation between them. RESULTS: It was observed that among the macro-regions there was a variation in the behavior of the analyzed indicators, whereby some Hearing Health Care Units (HHCU) seem to assume the services of other regions. Statewide, the average value of sessions of speech therapy per patient with Hearing aid (HA) in the macro-regions was 10. However, the average therapy production was lower than the average HA adaptation in most of the macro-regions. The great demand for adaptation seems to guide the organization of the services, which has favored the adaptation and not the follow-up, through personal therapy sessions. CONCLUSION: It is believed that the greatest challenge of the Hearing Health Care Network of the State of Minas Gerais is to strengthen the longitudinal dimension of care, mainly through a decentralized speech therapy service, in order to improve the efficiency of the services.

O objetivo da pesquisa foi buscar técnicas promotoras ou aceleradoras da germinação de sementes da palmeira inajá (Maximiliana regia Mart.), espécie produtora de palmito. Para tanto, frutos verdes e maduros (com e sem polpa) foram submetidos a tratamentos de vernalização, KNO3, H2SO4, H2O-80°C, retirada do opérculo e armazenamento. Foi concluído que, entre os procedimentos pré-germinativos, o despolpamento dos frutos pode ser indicado para acelerar e elevar a germinação. Paralelamente, foi observado que sementes de frutos maduros despolpados são mais negativamente afetadas no armazenamento do que as dos frutos maduros não despolpados.

Studies were carried out to evaluate inaja (Maximiliana regia Mart.) seed germination promoters. Several treatments, including vernalization, KNO3, H2SO4, hot water (H(2)0-80°C), were applied to mature and imature fruits. The results showed that pre-germinative treatments, that promoted seed water uptake, contributed to enhance speed and germination rates. Among the treatments, unshelled of the fruits could be indicated. It was observed that inaja seeds were aparently recalcitrants and severely damaged by storage conditions which do not prevent dehydration.
