ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to evaluate development in the following tree species: Acacia mangium Willd, Anadenanthera colubrina var. cebil (Griseb.) Altschu, Casuarina equisetifolia L. ex J. R. Forst. & G. Forst, Handroanthus impetiginosus (Mart. Ex DC.) Mattos, and Colubrina glandulosa subsp. reitzii (M.C.Johnst.) Borhidi under two water regimes in the Irrigated Perimeter of Baixo Acaraú, in the state of Ceará. The experiment was conducted over seven years, with the factors represented by water regimes, species and periods in an arrangement of split-split plots in a completely randomised design repeated over time with four replications of two plants each. The response variables were total height, diameter at breast height, volume, absolute growth rate in height and diameter, and current and average annual increase in volume. After seven years, the species Acacia mangium, Casuarina equisetifolia, Handroanthus impetiginosus, Anadenanthera colubrina and Colubrina glandulosa presented the following respective mean volumes: 0.62, 0.47, 0.45, 0.31 and 0.29 m3 irrespective of the water regime. Despite a reduction in the growth rates of the species during each period, they remained positive, and growth did not stop. The mean values for volume confirm that the species showed similar growth for the water regimes under study. An irrigated regime of up to one year is therefore suggested for cultivating these species in the Irrigated Perimeter of Baixo Acaraú, Ceará. Willd var Griseb. Griseb (Griseb. RESUMO Objetivo: Avaliar a sazonalidade da bronquiolite aguda no Brasil durante a temporada 2020–2022 e compará-la com a das temporadas anteriores. Métodos: Os dados de incidência de internações por bronquiolite aguda em lactentes <1 ano de idade foram obtidos do Departamento de Informática da base de dados da Saúde Pública Brasileira para o período entre 2016 e 2022. Esses dados também foram analisados por macrorregiões do Brasil (Norte, Nordeste, Sudeste, Sul e Centro-Oeste). Para descrever características sazonais e de tendência ao longo do tempo, utilizamos o Modelo de Médias Móveis Integradas Autorregressivas Sazonais. Resultados: Em comparação com o período pré-COVID-19, a incidência de hospitalizações relacionadas com bronquiolite aguda diminuiu 97% durante as intervenções não farmacológicas (março de 2020 – agosto de 2021), mas aumentou 95% após a flexibilização das intervenções não farmacológicas (setembro de 2021 – dezembro de 2022), resultando no aumento geral de 16%. Durante o período pré-COVID-19, as hospitalizações por bronquiolite aguda seguiram um padrão sazonal, que foi interrompido em 2020–2021, mas recuperaram-se em 2022, com um pico ocorrido em maio, aproximadamente 4% superior ao pico pré-COVID-19. ABSTRACT Objective: To evaluate the seasonality of acute bronchiolitis in Brazil during the 2020–2022 season and compare it with the previous seasons. Methods: Data from the incidence of hospitalizations due to acute bronchiolitis in infants <1 year of age were obtained from the Department of Informatics of the Brazilian Public Health database for the period between 2016 and 2022. These data were also analyzed by macro-regions of Brazil (North, Northeast, Southeast, South, and Midwest). To describe seasonal and trend characteristics over time, we used the Seasonal Autoregressive Integrated Moving Averages Model. Results: Compared to the pre-COVID-19 period, the incidence of hospitalizations related to acute bronchiolitis decreased by 97% during non-pharmacological interventions (March 2020 – August 2021) but increased by 95% after non-pharmacological interventions relaxation (September 2021 – December 2022), resulting in a 16% overall increase. During the pre-COVID-19 period, hospitalizations for acute bronchiolitis followed a seasonal pattern, which was disrupted in 2020–2021 but recovered in 2022, with a peak occurring in May, approximately 4% higher than the pre-COVID-19 peak. Conclusions: This study underscores the significant influence of COVID-19 interventions on acute bronchiolitis hospitalizations in Brazil. ABSTRACT Purpose: This study aimed to compare the safety and effectiveness of intraocular pressure reduction between micropulse transscleral cyclophotocoagulation and “slow cook” transscleral cyclophotocoagulation in patients with refractory primary open-angle glaucoma. Methods: We included patients with primary open angle glaucoma with at least 12 months of follow-up. We collected and analyzed data on the preoperative characteristics and postoperative outcomes. The primary outcomes were a reduction of ≥20% of the baseline value (criterion A) and/or intraocular pressure between 6 and 21 mmHg (criterion B). Results: We included 128 eyes with primary open-angle glaucoma. The preoperative mean intraocular pressure was 25.53 ± 6.40 and 35.02 ± 12.57 mmHg in the micropulse- and “slow cook” transscleral cyclophotocoagulation groups, respectively (p<0.001). The mean intraocular pressure was reduced significantly to 14.33 ± 3.40 and 15.37 ± 5.85 mmHg in the micropulse- and “slow cook” transscleral cyclophotocoagulation groups at the last follow-up, respectively (p=0.110). The mean intraocular pressure reduction at 12 months was 11.20 ± 11.46 and 19.65 ± 13.22 mmHg in the micropulse- and “slow cook” transscleral cyclophotocoagulation groups, respectively (p<0.001). The median preoperative logMAR visual acuity was 0.52 ± 0.69 and 1.75 ± 1.04 in the micropulse- and “slow cook” transscleral cyclophotocoagulation groups, respectively (p<0.001). The mean visual acuity variation was −0.10 ± 0.35 and −0.074 ± 0.16 in the micropulse- and “slow cook” transscleral cyclophotocoagulation, respectively (p=0.510). Preoperatively, the mean eye drops were 3.44 ± 1.38 and 2.89 ± 0.68 drugs in the micropulse- and “slow cook” transscleral cyclophotocoagulation groups, respectively (p=0.017), but those were 2.06 ± 1.42 and 1.02 ± 1.46 at the end of the study in the “slow cook” and micropulse transscleral cyclophotocoagulation groups, respectively (p<0.001). The success of criterion A was not significant between both groups. Compared with 11 eyes (17.74%) in the “slow cook” transscleral cyclophotocoagulation group, 19 eyes (28.78%) in the micropulse transscleral cyclophotocoagulation group showed complete success (p=0.171). ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to characterise the lignocellulosic fractions of pruning waste from tree species showing potential for furniture production in Acaraú, Ceará. The experiment was conducted in a completely randomised, split-plot design, with the plots corresponding to two water regimes (irrigated for one year and irrigated for three years) and the sub-plots to eight tree species, with three replications. The chemical attributes were determined after seven years. Except for the insoluble lignin content, there was a significant effect from the different species in terms of the chemical properties of the wood. The results for the lignocellulosic fractions show the possibility of developing technological ways of adding value to these waste products, especially considering their lignin content. The different species also showed potential for use in producing cellulose pulp, with the exception of Handroanthus impetiginosus due to its high ash content. The results of this study offer new perspectives for future research into the use of forestry waste. Resumo O presente artigo avalia o potencial de aplicação do conceito de material com gradação funcional (MGF) ao desenvolvimento de concretos mais duráveis frente à carbonatação, um dos principais mecanismos de degradação das estruturas de concreto armado. Ensaios acelerados de carbonatação com temperatura (27 ( 2 °C), concentração de CO 2 (3 ( 0,5%) e umidade (65 ( 5%) controladas foram realizados em concretos homogêneos e com gradação funcional em que a porosidade do material foi variada ao longo dos corpos de prova. Para a confecção dos corpos de prova de concreto com gradação funcional foram utilizados concretos com relações água/cimento iguais a 0,35, 0,45 e 0,55 de forma que tivéssemos uma redução de porosidade à medida que nos aproximássemos da superfície da peça. O avanço da frente de carbonatação foi avaliado após 8, 9, 10, 14 e 24 semanas de exposição acelerada, empregando-se o indicador químico fenolftaleína. A partir dos resultados obtidos observou-se que os concretos com gradação funcional apresentaram coeficiente de carbonatação (K) ligeiramente superior ao do concreto com relação a/c igual a 0,35 (1,71 e 1,54 mm.semana -0,5 , respectivamente) e bastante inferior aos concretos com relação água cimento iguais a 0,45 (2,31 mm.semana -0,5 ) e 0,55 (3,78 mm.semana -0,5 ), evidenciando que a gradação funcional pode ser um método eficiente para proporcionar o aumento da durabilidade de elementos de concreto sujeitos à carbonatação. Abstract The present paper evaluated the potential application of the functionally graded material (FGM) concept to develop more durable concrete to carbonation, one of the main degradation mechanisms of reinforced concrete structures. Accelerated carbonation tests with controlled temperature (27 ( 2°C), CO2 concentration (3 ( 0.5%) and humidity (65 ( 5%) were carried out in homogeneous concretes and with functional gradation in which the porosity of the material was varied across the slices. For the manufacture of graded concrete specimens, concretes with water/cement ratios equal to 0.35, 0.45, and 0.55 were produced, with lower porosity (w/c = 0.35) close to the surface of the specimen. The advance of the carbonation front was evaluated after 8, 9, 10, 14, and 24 weeks of accelerated exposure, using the chemical indicator phenolphthalein. The results show that the functionally graded concrete had a carbonation coefficient (K) slightly higher than that of the concrete with a w/c ratio equal to 0.35 (1.71 and 1.54 mm.week-0.5, respectively) and much lower than concrete with water-cement ratio equal to 0.45 (2.31 mm.week-0.5) and 0.55 (3.78 mm.week-0.5). RESUMO O aporte de resíduos vegetais ao longo dos ciclos da cana-de-açúcar favorece o incremento de matéria orgânica e atividade de microrganismos no solo, especialmente nas camadas superficiais. A textura do solo também tem um efeito importante nos processos ecológicos e na qualidade do solo. Nesse sentido, o objetivo desta pesquisa foi avaliar atributos biológicos do solo em diferentes ciclos de cultivo de cana-de-açúcar sob colheita mecanizada, em um Latossolo da região de cerrado do Brasil Central. O estudo foi realizado em áreas comerciais de cultivo de cana-de-açúcar na safra 2018/2019, consideradas homogêneas em termos de condições edafoclimáticas, tendo como fonte de variação entre as áreas os ciclos de cultivo (C1: um ciclo de cultivo; C3: três ciclos de cultivo; C7: sete ciclos de cultivo) e uma área de vegetação de cerrado selecionada como referência. Foram determinadas variáveis microbiológicas nas camadas de 0-0,10 e 0,10-0,20 m. As variáveis relacionados à biomassa microbiana e textura foram submetidos à análise de componentes principais. ABSTRACT The contribution of plant residues throughout the sugarcane cycles favors the increase of organic matter and the activity of microorganisms in the soil, especially in the surface layers. Soil texture also has an important effect on ecological processes and soil quality. In this context, the objective of this study was to evaluate soil biological attributes in different sugarcane cultivation cycles under mechanized harvesting in an Oxisol in the Savanna region of Central Brazil. The study was conducted in commercial areas under sugarcane cultivation during the 2018/2019 season, which were considered homogeneous in terms of soil and climatic conditions, with the source of variation among the areas being the cultivation cycles (C1: one cultivation cycle; C3: three cultivation cycles; C7: seven cultivation cycles) and a savanna vegetation area selected as a reference. Microbiological variables were determined in two layers, 0-0.1 and 0.1-0.2 m. The variables related to microbial biomass and texture were subjected to principal component analysis. Areas with longer sugarcane cultivation cycles show higher proportion of microbial biomass carbon in the total organic carbon in subsurface layers (microbial quotient). The Portuguese Language (LP) is identified as one of the areas in which nursing students in Secondary Technical Professional Education (EPTNM) present difficulties, mainly in grammatical and spelling aspects. Therefore, the present study aims to analyze the knowledge of LP among EPTNM nursing students. This is a cross-sectional, descriptive and observational study, with a quantitative approach, carried out between March and September 2022 with 184 participants from two private educational institutions, located in the Northeast and Southeast Regions of Brazil. Furthermore, grammatical knowledge of the LP standard norm was assessed using the categories phonology, morphology, semantics and syntax, using an online questionnaire. The results showed that, regarding their approach to LP, 65.22% (n= 120) considered themselves to have an aptitude for the discipline. Less than half (42.39%; n= 78) attested that learning in PL was completely effective/sufficient in Basic Education and less than ¼ believed they had fully mastered basic knowledge (17.93%; n= 33). The average correct answers in the assessment of grammatical knowledge of the standard norm were 48.37% for phonology, 50.44% for morphology, 58.91% for syntax and 59.45% for semantics. The main weaknesses identified were: use of plural; accentuation; verbal tense identification; adequacy of whys; connotation/denotation recognition; use of crasis and verbal agreement. It is concluded, therefore, that although the participants claim to have a certain affinity for LP, the existence of gaps in knowledge of the discipline is noticeable, thus highlighting weaknesses in the training process of this professional category of nursing.

La Lengua Portuguesa (LP) es identificada como una de las áreas en las que los estudiantes de enfermería de la Educación Secundaria Técnico Profesional (EPTNM) presentan dificultades, principalmente en aspectos gramaticales y ortográficos. Por lo tanto, el presente estudio tiene como objetivo analizar el conocimiento sobre PL entre estudiantes de enfermería de la EPTNM. Se trata de un estudio transversal, descriptivo y observacional, con enfoque cuantitativo, realizado entre marzo y septiembre de 2022 con 184 participantes de dos instituciones educativas privadas, ubicadas en las regiones Nordeste y Sudeste de Brasil. Además, se evaluó el conocimiento gramatical de la norma estándar LP mediante las categorías fonología, morfología, semántica y sintaxis, mediante un cuestionario virtual. Los resultados mostraron que, en cuanto a su abordaje de la LP, el 65,22% (n= 120) consideraron tener aptitud para la disciplina. Menos de la mitad (42,39%; n= 78) afirmó que el aprendizaje en PL fue completamente efectivo/suficiente en Educación Básica y menos de ¼ creía que había dominado completamente los conocimientos básicos (17,93%; n= 33). El promedio de aciertos en la evaluación del conocimiento gramatical de la norma estándar fue del 48,37% en fonología, del 50,44% en morfología, del 58,91% en sintaxis y del 59,45% en semántica. Las principales debilidades identificadas fueron: uso del plural; acentuación; identificación del tiempo verbal; adecuación de los porqués; reconocimiento de connotación/denotación; Uso de crasis y acuerdo verbal. A Língua Portuguesa (LP) é identificada como uma das áreas em que estudantes de enfermagem da Educação Profissional Técnica de Nível Médio (EPTNM) apresentam dificuldades, principalmente, em aspectos gramaticais e ortográficos. Por conseguinte, o presente estudo tem como objetivo analisar o conhecimento de LP entre estudantes da EPTNM em enfermagem. Trata-se de um estudo transversal, descritivo e observacional, com abordagem quantitativa, realizado entre março e setembro de 2022 com 184 participantes de duas instituições de ensino privadas, localizadas nas Regiões Nordeste e Sudeste do Brasil. Ademais, os conhecimentos gramaticais da norma-padrão da LP foram avaliados com base nas categorias fonologia, morfologia, semântica e sintaxe, por meio de questionário on-line. Os resultados evidenciaram que, quanto à aproximação com a LP, 65,22% (n= 120) consideraram possuir aptidão com a disciplina. Menos da metade (42,39%; n= 78) atestou que a aprendizagem em LP foi totalmente eficaz/suficiente na Educação Básica e menos de ¼ acreditou dominar totalmente os conhecimentos básicos (17,93%; n= 33). As médias de respostas corretas na avaliação dos conhecimentos gramaticais da norma-padrão foram de 48,37% para fonologia, 50,44% para morfologia, 58,91% para sintaxe e 59,45% para semântica. As principais fragilidades identificadas foram: uso de plural; acentuação; identificação de tempo verbal; adequação dos porquês; reconhecimento de conotação/denotação; uso da crase e a concordância verbal. Conclui-se, portanto, que embora os participantes afirmem ter certa afinidade pela LP, é perceptível a existência de lacunas nos conhecimentos da disciplina, evidenciando, assim, fragilidades no processo formativo desta categoria profissional da enfermagem.

Como resultado, identificou-se que o TJSE priorizou a autonomia contratual, a liberdade para pautar critérios objetivos de segurança, o desalinhamento dos motoristas com o Termo e as Condições para uso em detrimento dos princípios da presunção de inocência e da função social do contrato. Abstract This investigation uses the method of decision analysis to analyze the positioning of the Sergipe Court of Justice, between 2020 and 2022, about the refusal of companies that offer transportation service via app to effect or cancel to remain in their registry with drivers who respond to criminal proceedings without final and unappealable decisions. The analysis of the decisions is based on some strategic theoretical frameworks, as based on the concepts of sacrificial citizenship and the economization of law, neoliberalism as a rationality and a deep process, and capitalism as surveillance. As a result, it was identified that the TJSE prioritized the contractual autonomy, the freedom to guide objective safety criteria, the misalignment of drivers with the Term and Conditions for use over the principles of the presumption of innocence and the social function of the contract. To problematize this scenario, the article also questions about the (un)protection of workers' personal data by app, the lack of transparency in the use of new technologies to collect data regarding ongoing criminal cases as a way to reiterate old social or labor exclusions. ABSTRACT In a world where attacks on the information security of organizations have increased, computer auditing emerges as a solution to prevent these unwanted incidents. However, to ensure the effectiveness of these audits, the use of an appropriate security framework is essential. This review article offers a comprehensive analysis of how different security frameworks can influence the effectiveness of computer audits in organizations. A systematic review has been conducted, which includes original articles published in English and Spanish between 2018 and 2023, and available in recognized databases such as Sciencedirect, Springerlink, JSTOR, Dialnet, Scielo, Scopus, and Latinindex.The main purpose of the study is to understand how the implementation of a specific security framework, such as COBIT, LCCI, NIST, CSF, ISG, D4I, and ISO/IEC 27001, can affect computer audits and their corresponding impact on organizations. In addition, it has been discovered that the choice of the security framework can have a significant repercussion on an organization's ability to identify and mitigate security risks, as well as to maintain regulatory compliance and ensure the integrity and confidentiality of data.

No obstante, para asegurar la efectividad de estas auditorías, es imprescindible el uso de un marco de seguridad adecuado. Este artículo de revisión proporciona un estudio completo sobre cómo distintos marcos de seguridad pueden impactar en la efectividad de las auditorías de sistemas en las organizaciones. Se llevó a cabo una revisión sistemática que comprende artículos originales, publicados en inglés y español desde 2018 hasta 2023, y accesibles en bases de datos reconocidas como Sciencedirect, Springerlink, JSTOR, Dialnet, Scielo, Scopus y Latinindex. El propósito principal del estudio es comprender cómo la implementación de un marco de seguridad específico, como COBIT, LCCI, NIST, CSF, ISG, D4I y ISO/IEC 27001, puede afectar las auditorías informáticas y su correspondiente impacto en las organizaciones. Adicionalmente, se ha encontrado que la selección del marco de seguridad puede impactar de manera importante en la habilidad de una organización para detectar y minimizar los riesgos de seguridad, mantener la conformidad con las regulaciones y asegurar la integridad y confidencialidad de los datos.

Introdução: O canal inguinal é região propensa a hérnias que podem ter indicação cirúrgica. Embora a videocirurgia possa ser menos agressiva, a identificação dos ramos nervosos é necessária para diminuir a incidência de inguinodinia que pode ocorrer mesmo com essa via minimamente invasiva. Objetivo: Revisar a incidência e os motivos da inguinodinia nos procedimentos cirúrgicos laparoscópicos na correção das hérnias inguinais. Método: Revisão sistemática, realizada nas bases de dados PubMed, BVS e Google Scholar no período de 2018 a 2024, incluindo artigos em português e inglês. De 1.758 artigos, 10 foram selecionados. Resultado: Os principais achados da pesquisa comprovaram que o reconhecimento e a devida identificação anatômica dos principais nervos da região inguinal durante a operação – ílio-hipogástrico, ilioinguinal e ramo genital do genitofemoral - são capazes de diminuir as chances de os pacientes desenvolverem dor crônica na região inguinal após hernioplastia. A perícia e experiência do cirurgião ao evitar trauma nos nervos locais garante qualidade de vida aos pacientes e reduz a exposição deles a eventuais novas intervenções subsequentes para tratamento de inguinodinia. Conclusão: A prevenção é a medida mais importante tratando-se de erradicar a inguinodinia. Dessa maneira, o profissional deve ter conhecimento suficiente da topografia mais frequente da passagem dos principais nervos e seus ramos para evitar lesões iatrogênicas.

Introduction: The inguinal canal is a region prone to hernias that may require surgery. Although videosurgery may be less aggressive, the identification of nerve branches is necessary to reduce the incidence of inguinodynia that can occur even with this minimally invasive route. Objective: To review the incidence and reasons for inguinodynia in laparoscopic surgical procedures for the correction of inguinal hernias. Method: Systematic review, carried out in the PubMed, BVS and Google Scholar databases from 2018 to 2024, including articles in Portuguese and English. From initial number of 1,758 articles 10 were selected. Result: The main findings of the research proved that the recognition and proper anatomical identification of the main nerves of the inguinal region during the operation - iliohypogastric, ilioinguinal and genital branch of the genitofemoral - are able to reduce the chances of patients developing chronic pain in the inguinal region after hernioplasty. The surgeon's expertise and experience in avoiding trauma to local nerves guarantees quality of life for patients and reduces their exposure to possible new subsequent interventions to treat inguinodynia. Conclusion: Prevention is the most important measure when it comes to eradicating inguinodynia. Therefore, the professional must have sufficient knowledge of the most frequent topography of the passage of the main nerves and their branches to avoid iatrogenic injuries

Abstract A recent case in Argentina, where a child was generated through in Medically Assisted Procreation and was not the couple's biological daughter, reopened discussions about possible errors involving reproductive techniques. In this article, based on a bibliographical and documentary review, in addition to the responsibility of the centers that perform the procedure and the professionals involved, we deal with something more delicate: the rights of those who are born by “carelessness”, whose paternity is unknown or questioned or even rejected, after life has been generated in an unconventional way. Technological advances in human reproduction are undeniable and, in general, include couples prevented from having biological children without the use of such techniques, as is the case in Portugal and Brazil. However, life and ethics must be linked so that everyone's rights are respected. And, more specifically, so that the person does not have their life violated at birth, growing up amid legal disputes and rejection of parents who are faced with DNA test results that confirm the absence of the expected genetic bond. In such cases, paternity can be disputed, even by the “owners” of eggs, sperm or embryos frozen and used by mistake, to generate, by reflex, the existence of orphan newborn children, without parents.

Resumo Caso recente na Argentina, onde uma criança foi gerada por meio de Procriação Medicamente Assistida e não era filha biológica do casal, reabriu as discussões sobre possíveis erros envolvendo técnicas reprodutivas. Neste artigo, feito a partir de revisão bibliográfica e documental, para além da responsabilidade dos centros que realizam o procedimento e dos profissionais envolvidos, tratamos de algo mais delicado: os direitos de quem nasce por “descuido”, tendo a paternidade desconhecida ou questionada ou até mesmo rejeitada, após a vida ter sido gerada de modo não convencional. Os avanços tecnológicos na área da reprodução humana são inegáveis e, de modo geral, contemplam casais impedidos de ter filhos biológicos sem o uso de tais técnicas, como se verifica em Portugal e no Brasil. Entretanto, vida e ética devem estar atreladas para que os direitos de todos sejam respeitados. E, mais especificamente, para que a pessoa não tenha sua vida violada ao nascer, crescendo em meio a disputas judiciais e rejeição de pais que se depararam com resultados de testes de DNA que confirmam a inexistência de esperado vínculo genético. Em tais casos, a paternidade pode ser contestada, inclusive pelos “donos” de óvulos, esperma ou embriões congelados e utilizados por engano, a gerar, por reflexo, a existência de nascituros órfãos, sem pais.

Resumen El objetivo del presente estudio fue caracterizar los cambios estacionales en la composición y abundancia del microfitoplancton en la plataforma continental de Bahía, una región con presencia de eventos de surgencia. Se realizaron muestreos semestrales durante los veranos e inviernos de 2017 a 2021 en nueve puntos. El microfitoplancton se muestreó utilizando una red cónica de plancton en arrastres horizontales debajo de la superficie, utilizando un medidor de corriente acoplado a la red, para medir el volumen total de agua filtrada. La temperatura y la salinidad fueron medidas in situ, presentando valores típicos de aguas tropicales. Además, las concentraciones de nutrientes inorgánicos disueltos corroboraron el patrón oligotrófico marino tropical. Se identificaron un total de 144 taxones en la región, siendo los phyla Heterokontophyta y Dinoflagellata los más representativos, como se registra típicamente en las regiones costeras tropicales. La densidad varió de 6,08 × 104 a 3,38 × 108 células L-1, con valores promedio más altos en verano. Aunque las cianobacterias representaron solo el 3,2% de la riqueza de especies en la región, debido a las floraciones de verano de Trichodesmium erythraeum (2018, 2019 y 2021), fue el grupo más abundante a lo largo del estudio. Se observó que los eventos de surgencia no parecen establecer condiciones favorables para cambios estacionales marcados en la composición y abundancia del microfitoplancton. Las floraciones de Trichodesmium erythraeum están estrechamente relacionadas con la fisiología y la capacidad ecológica de esta especie. Con excepción de los períodos de floración, el área de estudio presentó patrones de alta riqueza y diversidad de especies a lo largo de la serie temporal analizada.

Abstract This study aimed to characterize seasonal changes in microphytoplankton composition and abundance on Bahia continental shelf, a region with upwelling events. Semi-annual sampling was conducted during summer and winter from 2017 to 2021 at nine points. Microphytoplankton was sampled using a conical plankton net through horizontal subsurface drags, using a flowmeter coupled to the net, to measure the total volume of filtered water. Temperature and salinity were measured in situ, presenting typical values of tropical waters. In addition, dissolved inorganic nutrient concentration corroborated a tropical marine oligotrophic pattern. A total of 144 taxa were identified in the region, with the phyla Heterokontophyta and Dinoflagellata being the most representative, as is typically recorded in tropical coastal regions. The density ranged from 6.08 × 104 to 3.38 × 108 cells L-1, with higher average values in summer. Although cyanobacteria accounted for only 3.2% of species richness in the region, due to summer blooms of Trichodesmium erythraeum (2018, 2019, and 2021), it was the most abundant group throughout the study. It was observed that upwelling events do not seem to establish favorable conditions for marked seasonal changes in microphytoplankton composition and abundance. Trichodesmium erythraeum blooms are closely related to physiology and ecological capacity of this species. Except for bloom periods, the study area presented a high species richness and diversity throughout the analyzed time series.

The short story The Alienist was written by Machado de Assis and published between 1881 and 1882. The story has as its protagonist Simão Bacamarte, an alienist, who may be the precursor of the psychiatrist. Bacamarte occupies a prominent place in the village of Itaguaí, in Rio de Janeiro, after returning from his studies in Europe. He installed the Casa de Orates or Casa Verde, an asylum to treat the mental health of those considered alienated. With the support of councilors and the local population, he was successful, but he became obsessed and ended up interning almost all of the residents. The bibliographic review methodology was used, which aims to survey materials related to the study topic. Thus, this article aims to analyze Machado's work in its critique of sanity and madness, reflecting on the role and authority of the psychiatrist, in addition to thinking about the model of hospitalization in asylums and hospices.

RESUMO Objetivo: Revisar sistematicamente a literatura em busca das intervenções e indicações nutricionais mais adequadas e eficazes para o tratamento nutricional de crianças e adolescentes com paralisia cerebral (PC). Fontes de dados: Esta revisão foi conduzida de acordo com as diretrizes Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses — PRISMA. Os artigos foram selecionados em sete bases de dados (Cochrane, Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde — Lilacs, Embase, United States National Library of Medicine — PubMed, Scientific Electronic Library Online — SciELO, Scopus, and Web of Science). Foram incluídos estudos de um grupo pediátrico (zero a 18 anos) com diagnóstico de PC e a estratégia de busca incluiu os descritores: “children” OR “childhood” AND “nutritional therapy” OR “nutritional intervention” OR “nutrition” OR “nutritional support” OR “diet” AND “cerebral palsy” OR “cerebral injury”. A qualidade metodológica foi avaliada utilizando a lista de verificação para estudos transversais analíticos, escala Newcastle-Ottawa ou ferramenta da Cochrane Collaboration, para ensaios clínicos. Síntese dos dados: Quinze estudos (n=658) publicados de 1990 a 2020 preencheram os critérios de inclusão. Todos tiveram baixo risco de viés. Os dados mostraram que crianças e adolescentes com PC apresentam pior estado nutricional do que os normalmente desenvolvidos. Aqueles que receberam suplementação nutricional hipercalórica e hiperproteica beneficiaram-se de seu uso. Estudos demonstram que a nutrição enteral deve ser considerada quando as necessidades nutricionais não são supridas pela dieta oral, principalmente nos casos em que as funções oromotoras estão prejudicadas. Além disso, houve relação direta entre a consistência dos alimentos, o nível de função motora e o estado nutricional. Conclusões: Crianças e adolescentes com PC têm maior risco de desnutrição. O uso de suplementação nutricional pode auxiliar no ganho de peso desses pacientes. ABSTRACT Objective: To systematically review the literature in search of the most suitable and effective nutritional interventions and indications for the nutritional treatment of children and adolescents with cerebral palsy (CP). Data source: This review was conducted in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. The articles were selected from seven databases (Cochrane, Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde — Lilacs, Embase, United States National Library of Medicine — PubMed, Scientific Electronic Library Online — SciELO, Scopus, and Web of Science). Studies from a pediatric group (0 to 18 years old) diagnosed with CP were included and the search strategy included the descriptors: “children” OR “childhood” AND “nutritional therapy” OR “nutritional intervention” OR “nutrition” OR “nutritional support” OR “diet” AND “cerebral palsy” OR “cerebral injury”. Methodological quality was assessed using the checklist for cross-sectional analytical studies, the Newcastle-Ottawa scale or the Cochrane Collaboration tool for clinical trials. Data synthesis: Fifteen studies (n=658) published from 1990 to 2020 met the inclusion criteria. All of them had a low risk of bias. The data showed that children and adolescents with CP have worse nutritional status than those normally developed. Those who received hypercaloric and hyperprotein nutritional supplementation benefited from its use. Studies indicate that enteral nutrition should be considered when nutritional needs are not met by the oral diet, especially in cases where oral motor functions are impaired. In addition, there was a direct relationship between the consistency of food, the level of motor function and nutritional status.
