ABSTRACT Safflower is a crop with seeds containing high amounts of oleic and linoleic acids, which have applications in cosmetics, food, feed, and pharmaceutical industries. Safflower seeds are generally reported to undergo after-ripening and to have physiological dormancy. This study comprehensively analyzed the physical changes and the induction of dormancy and germinability in developing seeds to determine whether the safflower population is adequately developed during seed dispersal. From the 80th day after flowering (DAF), seeds were collected separately from plants on a weekly basis until 131 DAF, resulting in seven sampling dates. The changes in length, diameter, thickness, water content, and fresh and dry weight during seed development were measured. Simultaneously, the effects of dark and light, temperature, and gibberellic acid (GA3) (0, 50, and 100 µM) on seed germination, dormancy and germination characteristics of safflower seeds were investigated. The seeds ceased to increase in length, width and thickness, reaching a mature appearance at 131 DAF, with a dry mass per seed of 0.0443 g. The water content decreased between 117 and 124 DAF, indicating an obvious process of desiccation during the final stage of seed maturation. Germination capacity is acquired at 117 DAF, as evidenced by an increase in germination and a reduction in dormant seeds, particularly at low temperatures (10°C) and with GA3 supplementation. RESUMO O desastre-crime do petróleo em 2019 é tido como o maior desastre ocorrido no litoral do Brasil. Considerada a primeira linha de enfrentamento de desastres no território, a gestão municipal de saúde é fundamental no processo de gestão de risco de desastre. Objetivou-se analisar a atuação de uma secretaria municipal de saúde da região metropolitana do Recife, Pernambuco, em relação ao derramamento do petróleo ocorrido em 2019. Foi realizado um estudo de caso do tipo descritivo com abordagem qualitativa. Foi realizada Análise de Conteúdo, com utilização do software IRaMuTeQ, das entrevistas com gestores da saúde, cujos resultados revelaram quatro categorias: gestão municipal na atenção com o mar; governança de risco de desastre e suas ausências; sindemia da covid-19 e impactos na reabilitação e recuperação das comunidades afetadas pelo desastre do petróleo; o que fazer se um desastre voltar a acontecer. ABSTRACT The 2019 oil disaster-crime is considered the largest disaster on the Brazilian coast. Given the frontline in disaster response, the municipal health secretariat is crucial in the disaster risk management process. This study aimed to analyze the performance of a municipal health secretariat in the metropolitan region of Recife, Pernambuco, regarding the 2019 oil spill, adopting a descriptive, qualitative case study. We performed content Analysis with the IRaMuTeQ software on interviews with health managers, and the results revealed four categories: municipal management in marine care; disaster risk governance and its absence; the COVID-19 syndemic and its impacts on the rehabilitation and recovery of oil disaster-affected communities; what to do if a disaster strikes again. Introduction: Elderly patients have higher rates of morbidity and mortality during hospitalizations, diagnostic and surgical procedures. In order to improve the quality of care for the elderly, the APOIO (Preoperative Assessment of Elderly and Care Guidance) protocol was created, a tool to measure the risks of surgical complications. Objective: To evaluate the impact of APOIO on several outcomes, in order to validate it as a useful vehicle in the prevention of perioperative complications in elderly patients with fractures. Method: Retrospective cross-sectional study through review of 218 medical records of elderly patients hospitalized for fractures, and with surgical indication, having collected data on sex, age, reason for hospitalization, type of fracture, indication or not of surgical treatment, evaluation or not by APOIO, indication or not of ICU in the postoperative period, length of ICU stay, total length of hospitalization, immediate outcome and outcome within 30 days after the operation. Result: It was found that the application of APOIO was associated with a 70% reduction in the chances of death during hospitalization (p=0.040), length of stay in the ICU (p<0.001) and total length of hospital stay (p = 0.010). There was also a trend towards a reduction in the death rate within 30 days of the postoperative period (p = 0.117). Conclusion: The application of the APOIO tool reduces the length of hospitalization, optimizes indication and length of stay in the ICU and, also, reduces the risk of death in elderly people undergoing surgical treatment for fractures.

Introdução: Pacientes idosos apresentam maior morbidade e mortalidade em internamentos hospitalares, procedimentos diagnósticos e cirúrgicos. Buscando melhorar a qualidade assistencial aos idosos foi criado o protocolo APOIO (Avaliação Pré-Operatória de Idosos e Orientação de cuidados), ferramenta para mensurar os riscos de complicações cirúrgicas. Objetivo: Avaliar o impacto do APOIO sobre vários desfechos, a fim de validá-lo como veículo útil na prevenção de complicações perioperatórias em idosos com fraturas. Método: Pesquisa retrospectiva transversal por meio de revisão de 218 prontuários de pacientes idosos internados por fraturas, e com indicação cirúrgica, tendo sido coletados dados sobre sexo, idade, motivo do internamento, tipo de fratura, indicação ou não de tratamento cirúrgico, avaliação ou não pela APOIO, indicação ou não de UTI no pós-operatório, duração do internamento em UTI, duração total do internamento, desfecho imediato e desfecho em 30 dias após a operação. Resultado: Foi constatado que a aplicação do APOIO foi associada à redução de 70% nas chances de óbito durante o internamento (p = 0,040), ao tempo de permanência em UTI (p <0,001) e ao tempo total de internamento hospitalar (p =  0,010). Observou-se ainda tendência à redução na taxa de óbitos em 30 dias do pós-operatório (p = 0,117). Conclusão: A aplicação da ferramenta APOIO reduz tempo de internamento, otimiza indicação e tempo de permanência em UTI e ainda diminui o risco de óbito de idosos submetidos a tratamentos cirúrgicos de fraturas.

Resumen El objetivo del presente estudio fue caracterizar los cambios estacionales en la composición y abundancia del microfitoplancton en la plataforma continental de Bahía, una región con presencia de eventos de surgencia. Se realizaron muestreos semestrales durante los veranos e inviernos de 2017 a 2021 en nueve puntos. El microfitoplancton se muestreó utilizando una red cónica de plancton en arrastres horizontales debajo de la superficie, utilizando un medidor de corriente acoplado a la red, para medir el volumen total de agua filtrada. La temperatura y la salinidad fueron medidas in situ, presentando valores típicos de aguas tropicales. Además, las concentraciones de nutrientes inorgánicos disueltos corroboraron el patrón oligotrófico marino tropical. Se identificaron un total de 144 taxones en la región, siendo los phyla Heterokontophyta y Dinoflagellata los más representativos, como se registra típicamente en las regiones costeras tropicales. La densidad varió de 6,08 × 104 a 3,38 × 108 células L-1, con valores promedio más altos en verano. Aunque las cianobacterias representaron solo el 3,2% de la riqueza de especies en la región, debido a las floraciones de verano de Trichodesmium erythraeum (2018, 2019 y 2021), fue el grupo más abundante a lo largo del estudio. Se observó que los eventos de surgencia no parecen establecer condiciones favorables para cambios estacionales marcados en la composición y abundancia del microfitoplancton. Las floraciones de Trichodesmium erythraeum están estrechamente relacionadas con la fisiología y la capacidad ecológica de esta especie. Con excepción de los períodos de floración, el área de estudio presentó patrones de alta riqueza y diversidad de especies a lo largo de la serie temporal analizada.

Abstract This study aimed to characterize seasonal changes in microphytoplankton composition and abundance on Bahia continental shelf, a region with upwelling events. Semi-annual sampling was conducted during summer and winter from 2017 to 2021 at nine points. Microphytoplankton was sampled using a conical plankton net through horizontal subsurface drags, using a flowmeter coupled to the net, to measure the total volume of filtered water. Temperature and salinity were measured in situ, presenting typical values of tropical waters. In addition, dissolved inorganic nutrient concentration corroborated a tropical marine oligotrophic pattern. A total of 144 taxa were identified in the region, with the phyla Heterokontophyta and Dinoflagellata being the most representative, as is typically recorded in tropical coastal regions. The density ranged from 6.08 × 104 to 3.38 × 108 cells L-1, with higher average values in summer. Although cyanobacteria accounted for only 3.2% of species richness in the region, due to summer blooms of Trichodesmium erythraeum (2018, 2019, and 2021), it was the most abundant group throughout the study. It was observed that upwelling events do not seem to establish favorable conditions for marked seasonal changes in microphytoplankton composition and abundance. Trichodesmium erythraeum blooms are closely related to physiology and ecological capacity of this species. Except for bloom periods, the study area presented a high species richness and diversity throughout the analyzed time series.

Introduction The hemogram and hemogram-derivative ratios (HDRs) are becoming markers of the severity and mortality of COVID-19. We evaluated the hemograms and serial weekly HDRs [neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), monocyte-lymphocyte ratio (MLR), platelet-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), neutrophil-platelet ratio (NPR) and systemic immune-inflammatory index (SII)] in the survivors and non-survivors of COVID-19. Methods We retrospectively reviewed the medical notes and serial hemograms of real-time reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR)-confirmed COVID-19 adults hospitalized from April 2020 to March 2021 from the time of diagnosis to the 3rd week of diagnosis. Results Of the 320 adults, 257 (80.3%) were survivors and had a lower mean age than the non-survivors (57.73 vs. 64.65 years, p < 0.001). At diagnosis, the non-survivors had lower hematocrit (p = 0.021), and lymphocyte (p = 0.002) and basophil (p = 0.049) counts and the hematocrit showed a p-value (Is this what you meant???) of 0.021); higher NLR (p < 0.001), PLR (p = 0.047), NPR (p = 0.022) and SII (p = 0.022). Using general linear models, the survivors and non-survivors showed significant variations with weekly lymphocyte count (p < 0.001), neutrophil count (p = 0.005), NLR (p = 0.009), MLR (p = 0.010) and PLR (p = 0.035). All HDRs remained higher in the non-survivors in the 2nd week and 3rd week of diagnosis and the HDRs were higher in the intubated patients than in the non-intubated patients. The NLR and SII were more efficient predictors of mortality in COVID-19 patients. Conclusions This study shows that serial lymphocyte and neutrophil counts, NLR, PLR, MLR, NPR and SII could serve as good and easily accessible markers of severity and predictors of outcomes in COVID-19 patients and should be used for the monitoring of treatment response. hemogramderivative derivative (HDRs COVID19. Studying indigenous languages is, in a way, supporting the current social and political causes of native peoples. The article aims to discuss the concept of usage according to the linguistic thought of José de Anchieta (1534-1597), based on the text Arte de gramática da língua mais usado na costa do Brasil (Anchieta, 1990 [1595]). The term usage (uso) is documented at va-rious points in his grammar, which describes the Tupinambá language used in the intercultural catechesis activities of the 16th-century Portuguese America. The theoretical and methodolo-gical foundation employed in the research is Historiography of Linguistics, following the mo-del of Konrad Koerner (2014) and Pierre Swiggers (2019; Batista, 2019), aiming to investigate Anchieta's linguistic thought. The investigation's outcome reveals the relationship between the missionary's use of the term usage and theological-philosophical and grammatical conceptions that influenced his thinking. This demonstrates the prevalent linguistic thought in the missionary policy of 16th-century Portuguese America, within which his grammatical work is situated.

Estudar as línguas indígenas é, de certa forma, apoiar as causas sociais e políticas atuais dos povos originários. O artigo tem como objetivo debater o conceito de uso segundo o pensamento linguístico de José de Anchieta (1534-1597), a partir do texto Arte de gramática da língua mais usado na costa do Brasil (Anchieta, 1990 [1595]). O termo uso é registrado em diversos momentos em sua gramática que descreve a língua tupinambá empregada nas atividades de catequese intercultural da América portuguesa quinhentista. A fundamentação teórico-metodológica a ser empregada na pesquisa é a Historiografia da Linguística, conforme o modelo de Konrad Koerner (2014) e Pierre Swiggers (2019; Batista, 2019), em que temos como escopo a investigação do pensamento linguístico (linguistic thought) de Anchieta. Como resultado da investigação, encontramos a relação do emprego do termo uso na obra do missionário com concepções teológico-filosóficas e gramaticais que influíram em seu pensamento, o que denota o pensamento linguístico vigente na política missionária da América portuguesa do século XVI, em que a sua obra gramatical se situa.

RESUMEN Objetivo: Analizar los efectos del entrenamiento interválico de alta intensidad (HIIT) sobre los parámetros cardiometabólicos, fitness cardiorrespiratorio y recopilar los tipos de HIIT más utilizados en el entrenamiento en adultos con lesión medular (LME). Métodos: Se trata de una revisión sistemática, para lo cual se realizaron búsquedas en bases de datos electrónicas PubMed/Medline, Science Direct y Google Scholar. Se incluyeron estudios que I) necesitaban aplicar entrenamiento HIIT en II) adultos con SCI y analizar III) aspectos cardiometabólicos y aptitud cardiorrespiratoria. Dos revisores independientes seleccionaron los artículos para su inclusión, extrajeron sus datos y evaluaron su calidad metodológica. Resultados: De los 654 estudios encontrados, se analizaron 12 estudios, 11 pre y post intervención y 1 grupo control (GC) con un total de 106 participantes. Los resultados previos y posteriores a la intervención HIIT revelaron una mejora significativa en la aptitud cardiorrespiratoria y los aspectos cardiometabólicos (VO2pico, LDH, HDL, resistencia a la insulina). Los resultados de GC revelaron una mejora significativa en la aptitud cardiorrespiratoria observada del grupo de intervención (HIIT) en comparación con el grupo de intensidad moderada-baja (GC). Siete estudios utilizaron el ergómetro de brazo como la modalidad principal de ejercicio. ABSTRACT Objective: Analyze the effects of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) on cardiometabolic parameters, and cardiorespiratory fitness to compile the most used HIIT training types in adults with spinal cord injury (SCI). Methods: This is a systematic review of searches performed in the electronic databases PubMed / Medline, Science Direct, and Google Scholar. RESUMO Objetivo: Analisar os efeitos do treinamento intervalado de alta intensidade (HIIT) nos parâmetros cardiometabólicos, aptidão cardiorrespiratória e compilar os tipos de HIIT mais utilizados no treinamento em adultos com lesão da medula espinhal (LME). Métodos: Trata-se de revisão sistemática, para a qual foram realizadas pesquisas nas bases de dados eletrônicas PubMed / Medline, Science Direct e Google Scholar. Foram incluídos estudos em que I) o treinamento HIIT era aplicado em II) adultos com LME e analisaram III) os aspectos cardiometabólicos e aptidão cardiorrespiratória. Dois revisores independentes selecionaram os artigos para a inclusão, extraindo seus dados e avaliarando a sua qualidade metodológica. Resultados: 654 estudos foram encontrados. Desses, 12 estudos, 11 pré e pós intervenção e 1 grupo controle (GC) com um total de 106 participantes foram analisados. Resultados pré e pós intervenção de HIIT revelaram significante melhora na aptidão cardiorrespiratória e aspectos cardiometabólicos (VO2pico, LDH, HDL, resistência à insulina). Resultados do GC revelaram uma significativa melhoria na aptidão cardiorrespiratória observada no grupo de intervenção (HIIT) em relação ao grupo de intensidade moderada-baixa (GC). Sete estudos usaram o ergômetro de braço como modalidade de exercício primária. Dois estudos descreveram a estimulação elétrica funcional (EEF) realizada com o ergômetro de braço adicionando estimulação elétrica nos membros inferiores. Nenhum relatou a dinâmica da frequência cardíaca durante o período do estudo. RESUMO: Uma das principais questões relacionadas ao manejo de leguminosas forrageiras é o fato de que essas plantas podem ser encontradas em uma ampla diversidade de morfológica, estruturais e de hábitos de crescimento. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar características morfológicas, estruturais e produtivas de leguminosas forrageiras com diferentes hábitos de crescimento [Clitoria ternatea L.; Desmanthus pernambucanus (L.) Thellung; e Stylosanthes spp. cv. Campo Grande], em resposta a duas frequências de colheita (60 e 90 dias). O delineamento experimental foi inteiramente casualizado em blocos, com esquema de parcelas subdivididas e quatro repetições (n=4). O tipo de leguminosa forrageira influenciou no número de ramos secundários, número de folhas por ramo, índice de área foliar (IAF), interceptação luminosa (IL), porcentagem de folhas e colmos (%), razão folha/colmo e produção de vagens (P<0,05). D. pernambucanus apresentou os menores IL e IAF (P<0,05). Stylosanthes spp. cv. Campo Grande e C. ternatea apresentaram maior porcentagem de folhas e relação folha/colmo (P<0,05). Houve efeito da frequência de colheita na porcentagem de produção de hastes, folhas e vagens e na produção total (P<0,05). Frequências de colheita mais longas afetaram de forma diferente as leguminosas forrageiras avaliadas, principalmente o acúmulo de caules em D. pernambucanus, que apresentou aumento intenso após 60 dias de crescimento. A escolha da melhor frequência de colheita para essas leguminosas avaliadas deve levar em consideração a sua forma de uso. ABSTRACT: One of the main issues related to the management of forage legumes is the fact that these plants can be found in a broad diversity of morphology, structures and growth habits. This study evaluated the structural and productive characteristics of forage legumes with different growth habits [Clitoria ternatea L.; Desmanthus pernambucanus (L.) Thellung; and Stylosanthes spp. cv. Campo Grande], in response to two harvesting frequencies (60 and 90 days). The experimental design was completely randomized in blocks, with a split-plot scheme and four replications (n=4). The type of forage legume influenced the number of secondary branches, the number of leaves per branch, leaf area index (LAI), light interception (LI), percentage of leaves and stems (%), leaf/stem ratio, and pod production (P<0.05). D. pernambucanus had the lowest LI and LAI (P < 0.05). Stylosanthes spp. cv. Campo Grande and C. ternatea showed a greater leaf percentage and leaf/stem ratio (P < 0.05). There was an effect of the harvesting frequency on the percentage of stems, leaves, pod production, and total production (P < 0.05). Longer harvesting frequencies affected differently these legumes, especially the accumulation of stems in D. pernambucanus, which displayed an intense increase after 60 days of growth. The choice of the best harvesting frequency for these legumes evaluated should consider the proposal of the usage. Abstract The text discusses the boundaries, vulnerabilities and instituting modes of the concept of Health Promotion in conjunction with the concept of Popular Education as a basis for operationalizing actions in the field of Collective Health. Health Promotion, in its historical-conceptual evolution and support for health practices, is analyzed based on Latin American thought anchored in the perspective of the “social production of health”. Considerations are presented about the concrete forms that Health Promotion has acquired as a tool for certain institutional arrangements in the Unified Health System, focusing on the educational dimension of practices, starting from the perspective of Popular Education as an approach committed to producing inclusive processes in health and overcoming inequalities and inequities that affect the life and the construction of democracy, which, in the Brazilian context, was configured through “Popular Health Education”.

Resumo O texto discute limites, fragilidades e modos instituintes do conceito de Promoção da Saúde em cruzamento com o conceito de Educação Popular como base para operacionalizar ações no campo da Saúde Coletiva. A Promoção da Saúde, em sua evolução histórico-conceitual e sustentação das práticas sanitárias é analisada, toma como base o pensamento latino-americano, na perspectiva da “produção social da saúde”. São apresentadas considerações acerca das formas concretas que a Promoção da Saúde adquiriu como ferramenta de intervenção em determinados arranjos institucionais do Sistema Único de Saúde, com foco na dimensão educativa das práticas. ABSTRACT This study aimed to analyze the actions taken by health management to deal with the criminal disaster of an oil spill off the coast of Pernambuco in 2019. It is a case study investigating the health sector’s actions in four municipalities in Pernambuco. Data was collected through interviews with 16 health department managers (municipal and state), using a semi-structured script with questions about performance, impacts, actions taken, difficulties, challenges, and lessons learned. The Collective Subject Discourse analysis revealed four thematic axes: a) managers’ perception of the impacts of the crime disaster; b) actions taken in the process of risk management of the disaster crime by the health sector; c) difficulties faced in the process of mitigating the disaster; d) evaluation of management actions during the disaster crime and future preparation. Weaknesses in health management were identified in disaster mitigation actions due to the need for more preparation of health services and professionals. The lack of instruments and coordination between the federated entities intensified the difficulties, generating calamity in the territory. This points to the need to build instruments and protocols to guide such actions in these situations so that activities can be carried out more efficiently and effectively.

RESUMO Este estudo objetivou analisar as ações desenvolvidas pela gestão de saúde no enfrentamento do desastre-crime de derramamento de petróleo na costa pernambucana em 2019. Trata-se de estudo de caso que investigou a atuação do setor saúde em quatro municípios de Pernambuco. A coleta de dados foi mediante entrevistas com 16 gestores de secretarias de saúde (municipal e estadual), utilizando roteiro semiestruturado com perguntas sobre atuação, impactos, ações desenvolvidas, dificuldades, desafios e lições aprendidas. A análise do Discurso do Sujeito Coletivo evidenciou quatro eixos temáticos: a) percepção dos gestores sobre os impactos do desastre-crime; b) ações desenvolvidas no processo de gestão de risco do desastre-crime pelo setor saúde; c) dificuldades enfrentadas no processo de mitigação do desastre; d) avaliação das ações da gestão durante o desastre-crime e preparação futura. Identificaram-se fragilidades da gestão em saúde nas ações de mitigação do desastre, resultado da falta de preparo dos serviços e dos profissionais de saúde. A falta de instrumentos e a desarticulação entre os entes federados intensificaram as dificuldades, gerando situações de calamidade no território. Isso aponta para a necessidade de construção de instrumentos e protocolos que guiem tais ações nessas situações, para que as atividades sejam desenvolvidas com mais eficiência e eficácia.

Abstract Plasticulture improves crop quality and yield through polymeric films, but their improper disposal harms the environment due to humidity and contamination. This study aimed to develop biodegradable mulch films using soybean and peanut hulls and poly (butylene-adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT). The residues were characterized by thermogravimetric analysis and mulch films were evaluated by water absorption, contact angle and mechanical properties. The thermal behavior of the residues indicated stability below 200ºC. The agro-waste improved hydrophobicity but increased the water absorption values of the films by up to 18.5x (PBAT/SH5 after 14 days). Micrographs obtained by scanning electron microscopy indicated an important distribution of residue particles and formation of agglomerates, leading to lower mechanical performance. The study found that agro-industrial residues in powder form can be added to the polymeric matrix to produce biodegradable mulch films through traditional processing techniques. ABSTRACT Objective To estimate vaccination coverage, identify barriers and hesitancy to vaccinating children up to 24 months, born between 2017-2018, living in the urban area of Rio Branco, Acre, Brazil. Methods Population survey carried out from 2020 to 2021, which assessed sociodemographic characteristics and vaccination status among children. Results Among 451 included children, vaccination coverage was below 80%. Meningococcal C vaccine had the lowest coverage for administered doses (76.3%; 95%CI 70.5;81.3) and doses on time (27.4%; 95%CI 23.1;32.1). The statements “vaccines cause serious adverse reactions” (26.4%; 95%CI 18.1;36.8) and “you don’t need vaccination for diseases that no longer exist” (22%; 95%CI 15.7;29.8) were the most frequent regarding vaccination hesitancy. Lack of vaccines was the main barrier to care (86.6%; 95%CI 71.8;94.3). Conclusion Vaccination coverage in children born in 2017-2018 was below the target recommended for the full schedule of administered doses, both valid and timely administered.

RESUMO Objetivo Estimar a cobertura vacinal, identificar barreiras e hesitação à vacinação em crianças com até 24 meses, nascidas em 2017 e 2018, residentes na área urbana de Rio Branco-AC. Métodos Inquérito populacional realizado de 2020 a 2021, que avaliou as características sociodemográficas e a situação vacinal em crianças nascidas entre 2017 e 2018. Resultados Entre as 451 crianças estudadas, as coberturas vacinais foram inferiores a 80%. A menor cobertura para doses aplicadas (76,3%; IC95% 70,5;81,3) e oportunas (27,4%; IC95% 23,1;32,1) foi para o reforço da meningocócica C. As afirmações “vacinas causam reações adversas graves” (26,4%; IC95% 18,1;36,8) e “não precisa da vacina para doenças que não existem mais” (22%; IC95% 15,7;29,8) foram as mais frequentes quanto à hesitação vacinal. A falta da vacina foi a principal barreira assistencial (86,6%; IC95% 71,8;94,3). Conclusão As coberturas vacinais em crianças nascidas em 2017 e 2018 ficaram abaixo da meta preconizada nos esquemas completos de doses aplicadas, válidas e oportunas.

RESUMO O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar os efeitos do uso do filme de partículas associado a dois regimes hídricos sobre os parâmetros ecofisiológicos de plantas jovens de duas espécies nativas do semiárido brasileiro (Tabebuia aurea e Ziziphus joazeiro). Os experimentos foram conduzidos em blocos casualizados em esquema fatorial 2 × 2, com nove repetições. Os tratamentos utilizados foram aplicação de filme de partículas (Surround® WP) na concentração de 5% e sem filme ou 0%, e dois regimes hídricos de irrigação baseados na evapotranspiração de referência (ETo), irrigado com 100% da ETo e não irrigado ou 0% da ETo. As determinações das trocas gasosas foram realizadas aos 0, 15, 30 e 45 dias após a aplicação dos tratamentos, enquanto as análises dos pigmentos fotossintéticos foram realizadas apenas ao final do experimento. As espécies Tabebuia aurea e Ziziphus joazeiro apresentaram tolerância ao estresse hídrico, demonstrada pela elevada eficiência no uso da água. Por outro lado, a aplicação de filme de partícula causou aumento na condutância estomática, transpiração e na eficiência intrínseca do uso da água e reduções na temperatura foliar e na eficiência instantânea do uso da água pelas plantas de ambas as espécies estudas. O filme de partículas foi eficiente em conferir propriedades fotoprotetoras verificadas pelo aumento no teor de pigmentos fotossintéticos. ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of using particle film associated with two water regimes on the ecophysiological parameters of young plants of two species native to the Brazilian semiarid region (Tabebuia aurea and Ziziphus joazeiro). The experiments were conducted in randomized blocks in a 2 × 2 factorial design, with nine replications. The treatments used were the application of particle film (Surround® WP) at a concentration of 5% and without film or 0%, and two irrigation water regimes based on reference evapotranspiration (ETo), irrigated with 100% of ETo and not irrigated or 0% of ETo. Gas exchange determinations were performed at 0, 15, 30, and 45 days after treatments imposition, while the analyses of photosynthetic pigments were carried out only at the end of the experiment. The species Tabebuia aurea and Ziziphus joazeiro showed tolerance to water stress, demonstrated by their high water use efficiency. This study aimed to evaluate the nutrient intake, milk production, and production costs of dairy goats fed diets containing the rations with cactus cladodes (Opuntia stricta or Nopalea cochenillifera) associated with silage (Sorghum bicolor) or Tifton hay (Cynodon spp). Twelve pluriparous Saanen and Anglo Nubiana goats (42.25 ± 5.48 kg) at eight weeks of lactation were used. Treatments lasted 60 days, consisting of four periods of 15 days, distributed in three Latin square (4×4) with four diets. The treatments represented by diets with different associated feed: SSOP (Sorghum Silage + Opuntia); THOP (Tifton hay + Opuntia); SSNO (Sorghum Silage + Nopalea); and THNO (Tifton hay + Nopalea), in addition to concentrate in all diets. There were differences (p < 0.05) for the intakes of DM, OM, with higher values observed for goats fed the diets THNO, THOP, and SSNO, and for CP, NDF and ADF were higher for THNO and SSNO diets. Similar behavior occurred for voluntary and total water intake. The milk production and feed efficiency did not differ (p > 0.05). Costs with food, milk revenue, and gross revenue were not influenced by diets (p > 0.05). The Opuntia or Nopalea cactus cladodes genotypes associated with sorghum silage or tifton hay can be used to feed dairy goats in the semiarid region.
