Resumo Este trabalho explora o testemunho inédito de uma conspiração indígena ocorrida no sertão da Bahia em 1797. Metodologicamente, o artigo está baseado na análise da única fonte disponível sobre o episódio: a devassa realizada pelo juiz ordinário da vila do Itapicuru de Cima por ordem do governador da Bahia. A região sertaneja baiana foi marcada pela disputa de terras entre habitantes indígenas e europeus ao longo de todo o período colonial. Os Kiriris – que integravam a maior população indígena do sertão baiano – foram derrotados pelos colonizadores no final do século XVII, sendo aldeados e administrados pelos jesuítas até 1758, quando suas aldeias foram transformadas em vilas. A revolta de 1797 ocorreu quando um líder indígena chamado José Félix Cabral tentou assumir o comando da tropa de ordenanças a fim de expulsar os portugueses das terras da vila de Pombal, antiga aldeia de Canabrava. Cabral foi preso, mas seu sobrinho Victoriano Francisco continuou o protesto, tentando reunir indígenas de outras povoações da região. Abstract This paper explores unique testimony about an indigenous conspiracy that took place in the hinterland of Bahia, Brazil in 1797, analyzing the only source available on this episode: an investigation conducted by the judge of Itapicuru de Cima at the order of the governor of Bahia. The region, known as the Sertão, was marked by violent land conflicts between native inhabitants and the Europeans throughout the colonial period. The Kiriri, which were the largest population in this region, were defeated by the Portuguese army in the late seventeenth century and ruled by the Jesuits up to 1758, when the aldeias (missionary villages) became vilas (civil villages). The 1797 uprising took place when an indigenous leader named José Félix Cabral tried to assume command of the civilian militia to expel the Portuguese from land pertaining to the vila of Pombal, which had been the Canabrava village. Cabral was arrested, but his nephew Victoriano Francisco continued the protest, trying to gather indigenous people from other villages in the region. We do not know what happened next, but analysis of the documentation reveals indigenous agency at a fundamental time in Brazilian history. ABSTRACT Objective: To investigate the association between body mass index (BMI), obesity, clinical outcomes, and mortality following coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) in Brazil using a large sample with one year of follow-up from the Brazilian Registry of Cardiovascular Surgeries in Adults (or BYPASS) Registry database. Methods: A multicenter cohort-study enrolled 2,589 patients submitted to isolated CABG and divided them into normal weight (BMI 20.0-24.9 kg/m2), overweight (BMI 25.0-29.9 kg/m2), and obesity (BMI > 30.0 kg/m2) groups. Inpatient postoperative outcomes included the most frequently described complications and events. Collected post-discharge outcomes included rehospitalization and mortality rates within 30 days, six months, and one year of follow-up. Results: Sternal wound infections (SWI) rate was higher in obese compared to normal-weight patients (relative risk [RR]=5.89, 95% confidence interval [CI]=2.37-17.82; P=0.001). Rehospitalization rates in six months after discharge were higher in obesity and overweight groups than in normal weight group (χ2=6.03, P=0.049); obese patients presented a 2.2-fold increase in the risk for rehospitalization within six months compared to normal-weight patients (RR=2.16, 95% CI=1.17-4.09; P=0.045). Postoperative complications and mortality rates did not differ among groups during time periods. Conclusion: Obesity increased the risk for SWI, leading to higher rehospitalization rates and need for surgical interventions within six months following CABG. Age, female sex, and diabetes were associated with a higher risk of mortality. RESUMO Objetivo: compreender a percepção dos idosos quanto à violência física, à psicológica e ao abandono. Método: estudo transversal, descritivo, de abordagem qualitativa, fundamentado na Teoria das Representações Sociais. Desenvolvido com idosos cadastrados em uma Unidade Básica de Saúde do município de Campina Grande-PB, Brasil, entre os meses de abril e maio de 2022 através da coleta de dados a partir de uma entrevista semiestruturada. ABSTRACT Objective: To understand the perception of the elderly regarding physical violence, psychological violence, and abandonment. Method: A cross-sectional, descriptive study with a qualitative approach based on the Theory of Social Representations. Developed with elderly people registered at a Basic Health Unit in Campina Grande-PB, Brazil, between April and May 2022 through data collection based on a semi-structured interview. RESUMO O Arranjo Produtivo Local (APL) de apicultura do Vale do Rio Bois em Goiás está em estágio inicial de desenvolvimento e necessita de iniciativas que contribuam para seu desenvolvimento. O estado de Goiás possui condições favoráveis para a apicultura e, portanto, o presente estudo teve como objetivo avaliar a qualidade do mel produzido a partir de diferentes floradas no APL Apícola do Vale do Rio Bois. Portanto, foram realizadas análises físico-químicas para determinação dos atributos umidade, sólidos insolúveis em água, açúcares redutores, sacarose aparente, sólidos solúveis totais, acidez, pH, atividade diastática, hidroximetilfurfural e cor do mel. Os valores desses atributos foram comparados aos valores recomendados pelo Regulamento Técnico de Identidade e Qualidade do Mel (RTIQM). Os resultados revelaram correlações significativas, principalmente entre umidade e sólidos solúveis totais (r = -1,00), acidez e absorbância (r = 0,91), minerais e pH (r = 0,79) e açúcares redutores e absorbância (r = -0,72). De modo geral, as amostras de mel apresentaram qualidade satisfatória, com valores de apenas algumas amostras estando fora dos limites estabelecidos pela legislação. ABSTRACT The Local Production Arrangement (LPA) of beekeeping in the Bois River Valley in Goiás is at an initial stage of development and requires initiatives that would contribute to its development. The Goiás state has favorable conditions for beekeeping, and, therefore, the present study aimed to evaluate the quality of honey produced from different floral sources in the Bois River Valley Beekeeping LPA. Physicochemical analyses were, therefore, conducted to determine the moisture, water-insoluble solids, reducing sugars, apparent sucrose, total soluble solids, acidity, pH, diastatic activity, hydroxymethylfurfural, and color attributes of this honey. The determined values of these attributes were compared to the values recommended by the Technical Regulation of Identity and Quality of Honey (TRIQH). The results revealed significant correlations, especially between moisture and total soluble solids (r = -1.00), acidity and absorbance (r = 0.91), minerals and pH (r = 0.79), and reducing sugars and absorbance (r = -0.72). In general, the honey samples exhibited satisfactory quality, with the values of just a few samples being different from the limits established by the legislation. These results highlighted the importance of using Good Beekeeping Practices by those involved in the beekeeping production chain and honey commercialization. ABSTRACT Objective: To assess the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic and sociodemographic factors on stress, anxiety, and depression levels among dental students. Material and Methods: This observational study employed a census approach featuring a quantitative, descriptive, and analytical cross-sectional analysis. The research was conducted within a university center in northeastern Brazil from March to May 2021. Two questionnaires were administered: the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale (DASS-21) and another survey focusing on sociodemographic factors. Pearson's chi-square test was employed to examine potential associations between the variables, and multiple logistic regression models were fitted, with a significance level set at 5%. Results: The study included 128 dentistry students, predominantly female, with a high monthly family income. The data revealed normal levels across the three DASS subscales. A significant association was observed between anxiety and sex (X2 = 10.37; p = 0.03). The depression subscale exhibited associations with ethnic group (X2 = 47.46; p<0.01), area of residence (X2 = 12.44; p = 0.03), and appropriate study space (X2 = 11.48; p = 0.04). Urban residents were 4.29 times more likely to experience depression than their rural counterparts (OR = 4.29; 95%CI 1.28-14.42). Conclusion: While psychological profiles were as expected, targeted interventions for vulnerable groups are crucial. Future research should use longitudinal designs and assess tailored interventions' effectiveness to enhance mental health outcomes among students. Abstract Concentrated supplementation of ewes is a strategy to increase productivity. The objective was to evaluate the effects of supplementation in the diet of ewes before, during and in the final third of pregnancy and lactation on, the performance and production and composition of colostrum and milk. Resumo Objetivo Avaliar a completude dos registros de enfermeiros sobre as orientações dadas a usuários com tuberculose (TB) acompanhados na Atenção Primária à Saúde (APS). Métodos Estudo documental e retrospectivo, cuja população foi constituída por todos prontuários dos casos novos de TB notificados em Unidades de Saúde da Família de um município da Paraíba entre 2015 e 2019. O estudo foi desenvolvido entre julho e setembro de 2020, com uma amostra de 190 prontuários selecionados por amostragem proporcional e probabilística sistemática. Utilizou-se o software R para análise estatística, com nível de significância de 5%, empregando estatística descritiva, Diagrama de Pareto e análise de tendência. Resultados Do total, 60% dos indicadores foram classificados como muito ruins (orientações sobre alimentação, tratamento e consultas) na avaliação da completude do registro sobre as orientações de enfermeiros a respeito das orientações à TB. Abstract Objective To evaluate the completeness of nurses’ records on guidance given to users with tuberculosis (TB) followed in Primary Health Care (PHC). Methods This was a documentary and retrospective study whose population consisted of all records of new TB cases reported in Family Health Units in a municipality (State of Paraíba) in the period 2015-2019. The study was conducted from July to September 2020 with a sample of 190 medical records selected by systematic proportional and probabilistic sampling. The R software for statistical analysis was used with a 5% significance level, employing descriptive statistics, Pareto Chart, and trend analysis. Results In assessing the completeness of the guidance record about nutrition, treatment, and consultations given by nurses for patients with TB, 60% of the indicators were classified as very poor. The Pareto Chart highlighted guidance on food and treatment as the main problems in the record, representing more than 50% of the total incompleteness. The trend models showed increasing statistical evidence for the incompleteness of the guidance on consultations indicator (p=0.016) and a growing statistical trend for the incompleteness of the guidance on exams and consultations indicators. In contrast, guidance on nutrition and exams showed a decreasing trend in incompleteness. Resumen Objetivo Evaluar la completitud de los registros de enfermeros sobre las instrucciones dadas a usuarios con tuberculosis (TB) que se atienden en la Atención Primaria de Salud (APS). Métodos Estudio documental y retrospectivo, cuya población estuvo compuesta por todas las historias clínicas de los casos nuevos de TB notificados en Unidades de Salud de la Familia de un municipio del estado de Paraíba entre 2015 y 2019. El estudio se llevó a cabo entre julio y septiembre de 2020, con una muestra de 190 historias clínicas seleccionadas por muestreo proporcional y probabilística sistemática. Para el análisis estadístico se utilizó el software R, con un nivel de significación de 5 %, y se empleó estadística descriptiva, diagrama de Pareto y análisis de tendencia. RESUMO Objetivo: Avaliar o efeito antimicrobiano da solução aquosa de clorexidina 0,12% na microbiota oral de pacientes em ventilação mecânica em Unidades de Terapia Intensiva (UTI) 6, 8 e 12 horas após a higiene bucal. Métodos: Trata-se de um ensaio clínico randomizado no qual 30 pacientes internados nas UTIs de um hospital filantrópico de Aracaju-SE, selecionados por demanda espontânea durante um período de 2 meses conforme critérios de inclusão, foram randomizados e distribuídos igualmente em três grupos. A higiene bucal seguiu o protocolo de desinfecção adotado pelo hospital, o mesmo recomendado pela Associação Brasileira de Medicina Intensiva (AMIB). Amostras de saliva foram coletadas antes da aplicação de clorexidina 0,12%, logo após a aplicação da solução e após 6 horas (Grupo TESTE 1), 8 horas (Grupo TESTE 2) e 12 horas (Grupo CONTROLE), de acordo com cada grupo. ABSTRACT Objective: To evaluate the antimicrobial effect of 0.12% aqueous chlorhexidine solution on the oral microbiota of patients on mechanical ventilation in Intensive Care Units (ICUs) at 6, 8 and 12 hours after oral hygiene. Methods: This is a randomized clinical trial in which 30 patients admitted to the ICUs of a philanthropic hospital based in Aracaju-SE, selected by spontaneous demand over a period of 2 months according to inclusion criteria, were randomized and equally distributed into three groups. Oral hygiene followed the disinfection protocol adopted by the hospital, the same recommended by the Brazilian Association of Intensive Medical Care (AMIB). Saliva samples were collected before the application of 0.12% chlorhexidine, shortly after application of the solution, and then after 6 hours (TEST 1 Group), 8 hours (TEST 2 Group) and 12 hours (CONTROL Group), according to each group. Método: estudo qualitativo e exploratório, realizado nas unidades da Estratégia Saúde da Família, na cidade de João Pessoa, Paraíba, Brasil. A coleta de dados foi realizada de setembro a novembro de 2021 com 26 enfermeiros selecionados por meio da snowball technique, utilizando-se de roteiro de entrevista semiestruturado. Abstract Objective: to analyze nurses’ discourse about the potentialities in using information technologies as organizational support for the COVID-19 coping actions in Primary Health Care. Method: a qualitative and exploratory study conducted in the Family Health Strategy units from the city of João Pessoa, Paraíba, Brazil. Data collection was carried out from September to November 2021 with 26 nurses selected through the snowball technique, resorting to a semi-structured interview script. The empirical material was organized in the Atlas.ti 9 software and grounded on the theoretical-methodological contribution of Discourse Analysis, French Line. Results: three discursive blocks were evidenced: innovation based on social media; health education actions; resoluteness in organizational actions, presenting the relevance of the WhatsApp®, Instagram® and Facebook® apps as strategic resources, in order to collaborate in the Primary Health Care are with the organization of health actions against COVID-19 by nurses. RESUMO No Brasil, todo transporte e armazenamento de produtos e subprodutos florestais nativos deve ser registrado no sistema DOF (Documento de Origem Florestal). Essa plataforma informatizada existe para apoiar agências de controle na redução da venda de produtos florestais obtidos ilegalmente. No entanto, essa ferramenta ainda apresenta resultados modestos no cumprimento de seus objetivos, uma vez que lacunas no sistema permitem que madeira ilegal adquira caráter legal. O objetivo desse estudo foi testar se o coeficiente de rendimento volumétrico (CRV) de uma serraria em escala empresarial corresponde aos 35% estabelecidos pela legislação brasileira. O foco foi direcionado para uma brecha que permite o acúmulo de créditos virtuais no sistema DOF, por meio da transformação de toras em material serrado. Para tanto, estimamos o CRV da serraria e os rendimentos percentuais médios de 19 espécies comercializadas por uma empresa de base florestal na Amazônia brasileira, com um esforço amostral de 90 toras. O CRV estimado foi de 24,6 ± 2,4, mostrando incerteza de 9,9%. O CRV médio diferiu altamente significativamente (p < 0,001) do proposto pelo DOF, com uma diferença de 10,35%. Com base nesses resultados, a diferença entre o rendimento observado e o proposto pela legislação pode gerar um acúmulo de créditos em toras virtuais. ABSTRACT In Brazil, all transport and storage of native forest products and by-products must be registered within the DOF (Document of Forestry Origin) system. This computerized platform exists to support control agencies in reducing the sale of forest products obtained illegally. However, this tool still shows only modest results in fulfilling its objectives, since gaps in the system allow illegal wood to be acquired and enter the system as legal wood. The objective of this study was to test whether the volumetric yield coefficient (CRV) of a sawmill on an industrial scale corresponds to the 35% established by Brazilian legislation. The focus was directed at a loophole that allows the accumulation of virtual credits in the DOF system by turning logs into lumber. For this purpose, we estimated the sawmill’s CRV and mean percentage yield of 19 commercial species used by a timber company in the Brazilian Amazon with a sample size of 90 logs. The estimated CRV was 24.6 ± 2.4, showing 9.9% uncertainty. The mean CRV differed highly significantly (p < 0.001) from that proposed by the DOF, with a 10.35% difference. Based on these results, the difference between the observed yield and that proposed by the legislation can generate the accumulation of virtual log credits. With this accumulation, managers encounter difficulties in acquiring new logging permits and, consequently, do not meet the actual demand for logs to the sawmill’s capacity. Foi realizado um estudo com abordagem qualitativa, descritiva, exploratória; por meio da pesquisa-ação. Os atores sociais da pesquisa foram a comunidade escolar, a família e profissionais de saúde. Os dados foram coletados pela observação sistemática, rodas de conversas e seminário, utilizados para diagnóstico situacional e desenvolvimento das intervenções. A interpretação dos dados foi realizada pela análise de conteúdo. As atividades desvelaram a relevância do trabalho desenvolvido em rede intersetorial e multiprofissional qualificada, resultando em: mudanças comportamentais de adolescentes na escola e família, protagonismo destes nas oficinas educativas para cultura da paz, implantação de espaço de mediação de conflitos na escola, criação de projeto de atividade física, aproximação de pais à escola e sensibilização quanto a melhores possibilidades de educação doméstica não violentas. A qualitative, descriptive, exploratory study was conducted through action research. The social stakeholders of the research were the school community, the family, and health professionals. Data were collected by systematic observation, conversation circles, and seminars adopted for situational diagnosis and the development of interventions. Data was interpreted through content analysis. The activities revealed the relevance of the work developed in intersectoral and multidisciplinary qualified network, resulting in behavioral changes of adolescents at school and in the family, their leadership in educational workshops for a peace culture, the implementation of a conflict mediation space at school, the establishment of a physical activity project, drawing parents closer to the school, and raising the awareness toward better possibilities of non-violent domestic education. Abstract Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of Kangaroo Position (KP) in microcirculation (MC) of the flexor muscles of preterm newborns. Method: A controlled clinical trial was conducted in the city of Recife, Brazil, with 26 preterm children randomized in the Kangaroo Group (13) and in the Control Group (13). Assessments of blood flow, temperature, and tissue oxygen saturation (SO2) were made at two different times and in the biceps brachii muscle and hamstrings muscle group: before the KP and after 24 h of KP. In the Control Group, the registrations were performed at the times corresponding to those of the Kangaroo Group. The mean values among the times were analyzed by paired t-test for repeated measures. The clinical trial was recorded in Clinical Trials (NCT03611088). Results: In the Kangaroo Group there was an increase in tissue temperature and blood flow at the time evaluation periods (p < 0.05). In the control group, there was no statistical difference between the recording moments hamstring muscles group, but in the biceps brachii, there was a reduction in mean blood flow (p = 0.023). Conclusion: In conclusion, the KP has effects on the microcirculation of the flexor muscles of preterm newborns.

ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: Congenital vascular anomalies and hemangiomas (CVAH) such as infantile hemangiomas, port-wine stains and brain arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) impair patients’ lives and may require treatment if complications occur. However, a great variety of treatments for those conditions exist and the best interventions remain under discussion. OBJECTIVE: To summarize Cochrane systematic review (SR) evidence on treatments for CVAH. DESIGN AND SETTING: Review of SRs conducted in the Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery of Universidade Federal de São Paulo, Brazil. METHODS: A broad search was conducted on March 9, 2021, in the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews to retrieve any Cochrane SRs that assessed treatments for CVAH. The key characteristics and results of all SRs included were summarized and discussed. RESULTS: A total of three SRs fulfilled the inclusion criteria and were presented as a qualitative synthesis. One SR reported a significant clinical reduction of skin redness by at least 20%, with more pain, among 103 participants with port-wine stains. One SR reported that propranolol improved the likelihood of clearance 13 to 16-fold among 312 children with hemangiomas. One SR reported that the relative risk of death or dependence was 2.53 times greater in the intervention arm than with conservative management, among 218 participants with brain AVMs. CONCLUSION: Cochrane reviews suggest that treatment of port-wine stains with pulsed-dye laser improves redness; propranolol remains the best option for infantile hemangiomas; and conservative management seems to be superior to surgical intervention for treating brain AVMs.

Assim, objetivou-se neste estudo compreender a operacionalização do ensino em saúde coletiva, na graduação e pós-graduação stricto sensu, no Brasil. ABSTRACT The teaching of public health in Brazil contributes to the technical-scientific development of the field, transcending the mere approach of health programs in a fragmented way. Thus, the objective of this study was to understand the operationalization of teaching in public health, in the stricto sensu undergraduate and graduate programs, in Brazil. This is an integrative literature review based on a search in PubMed, SCOPUS, PsycINFO, Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences (LILACS), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) databases, and the Latin American and Caribbean Center on Health Sciences Information (BIREME). Twenty-one articles were analyzed by title, author, year, characterization and/or objective, methodology, and main results. It is concluded that the institutionalization of graduate courses in the field of public health followed the educational movement of the university and the Brazilian Health Reform, while undergraduate courses only took place in the last decade.
