RESUMO: O objetivo foi avaliar parâmetros hematológicos e bioquímicos após teste em novo ambiente, e o desempenho zootécnico de Oreochromis niloticus classificado como proativo ou reativo. No experimento 1, machos de tilápia do Nilo com peso médio de 128,33 ± 34,17 g foram mantidos em sistema de recirculação de água (RAS). Imediatamente após a classificação, foram coletadas amostras de sangue de 20 animais reativos e 20 proativos. No experimento 2 foram classificados 60 machos proativos e 60 reativos, com peso médio de 88,23 ± 21,59 g, os quais foram divididos nos seguintes tratamentos: PT (40 animais proativos), RT (40 reativos) MT (20 proativos + 20 reativos). Os animais foram alimentados duas vezes ao dia durante 90 dias. No experimento 1, os animais reativos apresentaram maior hemoglobina e cortisol e menor quantidade de leucócitos. No experimento 2, o ganho em peso foi maior nos animais proativos (PT) e nos animais reativos (RT); porém, a melhor conversão alimentar foi obtida nos animais reativos. A taxa de sobrevivência foi menor no grupo de animais do tratamento MT. Já a hemoglobina e a glicose tiveram valores inferiores para os animais proativos e para aqueles que estavam misturados, no grupo MT. O colesterol foi superior nos animais PT. Conclui-se que variáveis como hemoglobina, cortisol, leucócitos e colesterol têm maior probabilidade de sofrer alterações entre traços de personalidade. Ainda, pode-se concluir que O. niloticus reativos e proativos, cultivados em ambientes separados, apresentam o mesmo potencial de ganho em peso, porém, a conversão alimentar dos reativos é melhor. Abstract Objective: To analyze the morbidity trend and space-time distribution clusters of confirmed COVID-19 cases in children and adolescents. Method: An ecological study of COVID-19 cases confirmed in the Information System from 2020 to 2022 in the age group from 0 to 19 years old, residents in Mato Grosso municipalities, Brazilian Midwest region. A trend analysis of the monthly morbidity rate of cases/100,000 inhabitants was used, following Prais-Winsten’s regression. A space-time distribution of the Bayesian incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants was performed, in addition to a space-time scan to identify high-risk clusters. Results: Of all 79,592 COVID-19 cases studied, 51.6% were in females and 44.21% in people aged 15-19 years old. The mean monthly rate was 265.87 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, with a stationary trend in the period analyzed (Monthly Percentage Variation [MPV]) = 12.15; CI95%[MPV]: -0.73;26.70). The morbidity rate due to COVID-19 was higher in the female gender (283.14/ 100,000 inhabitants) and in the age group from 15 to 19 years old (485.90/100,000 inhabitants). An increasing trend was observed with a greater monthly time variation of 14.42% (CI95%[MPV]: 1.28;29.28)] among those aged from 10 to 14 years old. The primary cluster, which was also the one with the highest Relative Risk (RR = 5,16, p-value = 0.001), included 19 municipalities located in the North health macro-region. Conclusion: The findings indicated a monthly stationary trend in the study population, an increase in the age group from 10 to 14 years old, and areas at a higher risk for the disease in the North health macro-region of the state. RESUMO: No Brasil, a ureia é o fertilizante nitrogenado mais utilizado para melhorar a produção de forragem. No entanto, seu uso excessivo pode causar impactos ambientais por meio de perdas de nitrogênio (N), como a volatilização da amônia (NH3). Portanto, o objetivo do presente estudo foi ajustar a volatilização de NH3 da ureia aplicada em pastos tropicais em três condições de chuva utilizando modelos matemáticos. Dados foram coletados de pastos de capim-marandu (Brachiaria brizantha) adubado com 50 kg N ha-1 em condições úmidas, intermediárias e secas. A volatilização da NH3 foi medida em cinco câmaras semiabertas durante 21 dias. Os modelos, linear, quadrático, exponencial, Gompertz, Groot e Richards foram testados para ajuste e estimativa da volatilização do NH3. Os modelos de Gompertz, Groot e Richards geraram predições semelhantes aos dados observados, com alto coeficiente de determinação, indicando um melhor ajuste dessas equações aos dados, com acurácia e precisão. No entanto, o modelo Groot foi selecionado devido ao menor erro quadrático médio das predições (0,29% de N total perdido como NH3). A maior volatilização de NH3 ocorreu em condições climáticas úmida, seguido por intermediária e seca (20,2; 17,0 e 11,3% de N total perdido como NH3, respectivamente). Portanto, as perdas de N como volatilização de NH3 após a aplicação de 50 kg N ha-1, como fonte de ureia, são alteradas de acordo com as condições climáticas, atingindo a 20% do N adicionado nas condições úmidas. ABSTRACT: In Brazil, urea is the most used nitrogen (N) fertilizer to improve forage production. However, their excessive use can cause environmental impacts through N losses, such as ammonia (NH3) volatilization. Therefore, the current study adjusted and estimated the NH3 volatilization from urea applied on tropical pastures in three rainfall conditions using mathematical models. Data were collected from Marandu grass (Brachiaria brizantha) fertilized with 50 kg N ha-1 during wet, intermediate, and dry conditions. Ammonia volatilization was measured in five semi-open chambers for 21 days. The linear, quadratic, exponential, Gompertz, Groot, and Richards models were tested for fitting and estimating the NH3 volatilization. The Gompertz, Groot, and Richards models generated predictions similar to the observed data, with a high determination coefficient, indicating a better fit of these equations to data, with precision and accuracy. However, the Groot model was selected due to the lowest root mean square error of prediction (0.29 % total N lost as NH3). The greatest N loss as NH3 volatilization occurred in the wet, followed by intermediate and dry conditions (20.2, 17.0, and 11.3 % total N lost as NH3, respectively). Therefore, nitrogen losses as NH3 volatilization after application of 50 kg N ha-1, as urea source, are altered according to the weather conditions, reaching 20% of N added in the wet rainfall period. Resumo: Introdução: Diante das particularidades e desafios no manejo e tratamento de feridas em recém-nascidos torna-se importante para o enfermeiro conhecer, indicar e avaliar a eficácia e segurança das coberturas e produtos, inclusive na análise dos produtos para o público neonatal. Objetivo: Identificar na literatura as principais coberturas e produtos utilizados no tratamento de feridas em recém-nascidos. Metodologia: Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa de literatura, com artigos publicados entre os anos de 2018 a 2022, que abordaram os temas de coberturas e produtos utilizados no tratamento de feridas em recém-nascidos. A coleta de dados foi realizada por meio de consulta na Biblioteca Virtual de Saúde e Scientific Eletronic Library Online. Foram utilizados os descritores “newborn”, “wounds” e “bandage”. A análise foi realizada conforme a estratégia PICO e estruturados pelo PRISMA. Resultados: Diante dos achados foi possível identificar 13 artigos que abordavam produtos e coberturas destinados ao tratamento de feridas em neonatos. Foram encontrados 14 tipos de coberturas/produtos e dispositivos que utilizam a terapia por pressão negativa. Abstract: Introduction: Given the particularities and challenges in the management and treatment of wounds in newborns, it becomes important for nurses to know, indicate and evaluate the efficacy and safety of dressings and products, even in the analysis of products for the neonatal population. Objective: To identify in the literature the main dressings and products used to treat wounds in newborns. Methodology: This is an integrative literature review, with articles published between 2018 and 2022, which addressed the topics of dressings and products used in the treatment of wounds in newborns. Data collection was carried out through consultation in Biblioteca Virtual de Saúde and in the Scientific Electronic Library Online. The “newborn”, “wounds” and “bandage” descriptors were used. The analysis was carried out according to the PICO strategy and structured following PRISMA. Results: Given the findings, it was possible to identify 13 articles that addressed products and dressings intended for treating wounds in newborns. Fourteen types of dressings/products and devices that use negative pressure therapy were found. Final considerations: The literature indicates the use of products and dressings with passive, active and biological principles for the treatment of wounds in newborns, including premature neonates, and it is worth highlighting the importance of considering the safe use of dressings that are suitable for this population.

Abstract Vegetative propagation methods of acerola cherry are important in standardizing orchards and fruit quality, and the cutting process has been investigated as a promising alternative. The present work aimed to propose the best combination of substrate and cutting type (herbaceous and semi-woody) to provide a greater root rate and seedling development. The trial was conducted in a greenhouse at the State University of Maranhão, in São Luís - MA under intermittent nebulization conditions. The cuttings with dimensions of 10 cm were treated with indole butyric acid (IBA) at a concentration of 2,000 mg L-1, and as substrate were used vermiculite (MV), Plantmax ® (PL) (commercial substrate based on decomposed pine bark), agricultural soil + tanned and sieved bovine manure (S + M) (50% + 50%, v / v); and vegetable soil (VS) composed of fresh soil with the remains of decomposed plants (leaves, stems, bark, and tree fern). The experiment was laid out in a randomized complete design in a 2 x 4 factorial arrangement (2 types of cuttings x 4 substrates) with eight replications with five cuttings per plot. At 60 days after the establishment of the trial, it was concluded that the best combination for rooting cuttings was vermiculite with herbaceous cuttings because they favor a higher rooting rate (95.0%). ABSTRACT The use of tank mixtures has long been a practice in the phytosanitary management of agricultural crops. However, when different molecules are mixed in a tank, interactions may occur that reduce the efficiency of the products and cause a loss of selectivity in the crops. The aim of this study was to evaluate selectivity in maize, with a tank mixture of different phytosanitary products recommended for use with the crop. The following products were used: herbicides - Sanson®, Soberan®, Callisto®, Zapp Pro®; fungicides - Priori Xtra®, Nativo®, Tebufort®, Aproach Prima®; insecticides - Connect®, Lorsban® 480 BR, Karate Zeon®; and nutrition - Kellus Manganese®, Kellus Blindex®. The experimental units consisted of 5-litre pots, containing two plants per pot, with the products applied at phenological stage V6. Assessments were made of phytotoxicity, transient chlorophyll a fluorescence, chlorophyll content and shoot dry weight. The data obtained in the experiment were submitted to ANOVA (p ≤ 0.05), and when significant, to the Scott-Knott test (p ≤ 0.05). The maize crop suffered phytotoxicity of up to 30%, with the plants recovering from 28 DAA. The phytotoxicity was caused by mixing the different products in the spraying solution, mainly due to the synergism caused by the mixture of the herbicides nicosulfuron and tembotrione with the insecticide chlorpyrifos and the fertiliser Kellus Manganese®, which aggravated the incompatibility of some treatments. Abstract The study aimed to investigate oral potentially malignant disorders (OPMDs) diagnosed in an Oral Pathology service in southern Brazil over a span of 56 years and to assess the factors influencing their severity and outcomes. A retrospective analysis of histopathological records from 1965 to 2021 was performed. Lesions diagnosed as leukoplakia, erythroplakia, leukoerythroplakia, or actinic cheilitis were included. Data on age, sex, race, tobacco smoking, alcohol drinking, clinical characteristics, biopsy type, and histopathological diagnosis were collected. Among 32.698 histopathological reports, 2.10% were classified as OPMD. The study included 689 specimens from 602 patients, with a predominance of cases affecting men aged over 51 years, particularly in anatomical sites considered of low risk. White lesions, with leukoplakia as the most common clinical diagnosis were observed. Over time, there was an increase in the incidence of OPMDs among females and in high-risk anatomical sites. The mean follow-up period was 30.28 ± 29.86 months, during which 9.6% of cases exhibited malignant transformation. Lesions diagnosed as leukoerythroplakia and those presenting epithelial dysplasia exhibited a higher risk of malignant transformation, particularly when located in high-risk sites. This underscores the importance of identifying clinical and microscopic features, as well as lesion’s anatomical location, as crucial factors in determining the risk of malignant transformation. These findings provide valuable insights for clinicians managing OPMDs and contribute to the improvement of oral cancer prevention. ABSTRACT Background: This study investigated the self-rated general health, mental health, and work absenteeism among patients with laboratory-confirmed chikungunya. Methods: Telephone interviews were conducted with 63 patients ≥22 months after infection. BACKGROUND In response to the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic, Brazil authorised the Astra Zeneca/Fiocruz vaccine in January 2021. As the Delta variant emerged in May 2021, interval between vaccine doses was adjusted. By September 2021, the Brazilian National Immunisation Program recommended a booster dose for individuals over 70, and later expanded the recommendation to all adults. OBJECTIVES Assess the equivalence of IgG antibody response against the Covid-19 S protein before and approximately 28 days after the third dose of a Covid-19 recombinant vaccine. Two groups received initial two doses with intervals of eight and 12 weeks. METHODS This is a phase IV clinical study, uncontrolled, non-randomised. The study proposes calculating the ratio of geometric means titres (GMT) 28 days after the third dose, with a target ratio of confidence interval (CI) between 0.77 and 1.3. FINDINGS In the primary endpoint, there was no equivalence between the eight- and 12-week intervals with a slight variation favouring the eight-week group. Post-third dose, both groups showed increases titres at 28 days, three months, six months and 12 months. Both groups responded similarly to Delta and Omicron BA.1, with a more significant increase for Delta. MAIN CONCLUSIONS The study showed strong and consistent immune response in all age groups receiving the Covid-19 recombinant vaccine. Abstract Paper aims This study aims to investigate the traceability and its technologies in the agri-food supply chain under the light of the Circular Economy (CE). Originality The originality of this study relies on conducting an integrative research of traceability in the context of agri-food supply chain under the light of CE. Research method A systematic and structured process was adopted to conduct the SLR. The literature search was conducted in the Scopus and Web of Science databases and operationalized using the PRISMA tool. The initial portfolio was analyzed and a content analysis was conducted using Rayyan, leading to the inclusion of 79 articles. A bibliometric and content analysis was performed using a deductive approach. Resumo Este estudo teve como objetivo identificar a influência da substituição do agregado graúdo natural por agregado graúdo reciclado de concreto na espessura e no volume da pasta cimentícia sob a variação da relação água/cimento nas propriedades frescas e endurecidas do concreto permeável. A espessura teórica da pasta determinada foi ineficiente para dosagem de concreto permeável. Porém, constatou-se que o volume da pasta foi o parâmetro que melhor se relacionou com as propriedades mecânicas e de permeabilidade do material estudado. O concreto permeável com agregados naturais apresentou maior resistência à compressão que o concreto com agregados reciclados, mas ambos atenderam às normas vigentes. Abstract This study aimed to identify the influence of replacing coarse natural aggregate with coarse recycled concrete aggregate on the thickness and volume of the cementitious paste under the variation of the water/cement ratio in the fresh and hardened properties of pervious concrete. The determined theoretical paste thickness was inefficient for pervious concrete dosage. However, it was found that the paste volume was the parameter that was best related to the mechanical and permeability properties of the studied material. Pervious concrete with natural aggregates showed higher compressive strength than concrete with recycled aggregates, although both met the regulations. All the concretes produced, except one with recycled aggregate of w/c ratio 0.25, reached the tensile strength in the minimum design bending. Abstract Global second order effects in reinforced concrete buildings can be estimated using numerical or simplified methods, such as the γz coefficient, presented in the Brazilian standard. This paper proposes a new simplified parameter, which is deduced by the Galerkin’s Method by Weighted Residuals. In order to evaluate the accuracy of the proposed methodology, 42 planar frames (21 framed system structures and 21 dual system structures) were analysed in terms of internal forces and displacements. RESUMO Objetivo: Avaliar a efetividade de um manual educativo no apoio prestado por acompanhantes durante o processo parturitivo em um centro obstétrico. Método: Ensaio Clínico Randomizado realizado com 248 participantes, sendo 124 acompanhantes e 124 puérperas. O estudo foi realizado em centro obstétrico em Fortaleza, Ceará, Brasil, entre os meses de novembro de 2018 a outubro de 2019. Utilizou-se o Formulário de caracterização do acompanhante; Formulário de avaliação do apoio prestado; e Formulário de avaliação da experiência e satisfação da puérpera com o trabalho de parto. ABSTRACT Objective: to evaluate the effectiveness of an educational manual on the support provided by companions during the labor process in an obstetric center. Method: a Randomized Clinical Trial conducted with 248 participants, comprising 124 companions and 124 puerperal women. The study took place between November 2018 and October 2019 at an obstetric center in Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil. The Companion Characterization Form, the Support Evaluation Form, and the Postpartum Woman's Labor Experience and Satisfaction Evaluation Form were used. The data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences statistical program. Chi-square and Fisher tests were employed, as well as the Mann-Whitney test. The Relative Risk (RR) and the 95% Confidence Interval (CI) were calculated for the main dependent variables. Results: it was evident that the companions from the Intervention Group were more likely to engage in physical, emotional, informational and advocacy/intermediation support actions, with a statistically significant difference observed in all support dimensions when comparing both groups. The companions from the Intervention Group performed more support actions (20 vs 6; p:0.001) and rated the experience of accompanying the birth more favorably (100.0 vs 74.2; p:0.001). It was identified that the puerperal women accompanied by participants from the Intervention Group were more likely to express satisfaction with how the labor process took place. SUMMARY OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of long-term oxygen therapy as a strategy to reduce hospitalization time in patients affected by COVID-19. METHODS: Between April and December 2021, COVID-19 patients with stable clinical conditions needing supplementary oxygen therapy during hospitalization were oriented to have hospital discharge with long-term oxygen therapy and reassessment after 15 days. RESULTS: A total of 62 patients were evaluated and, 15 days after discharge, 69% of patients had suspended long-term oxygen therapy, with no difference between the groups admitted to the intensive care unit or the ward (p=0.319). Among the individuals who needed to maintain long-term oxygen therapy, in addition to worse P/F ratio (265±57 vs. 345±51; p<0.001) and lower partial pressure of oxygen (55±12 vs. 72±11 mmHg; p<0.001), were those more obese (37±8 vs. 30±6 kg/m2; p=0.032), needed more time for invasive mechanical ventilation (46±27 vs. 20±16 days; p=0.029), had greater persistence of symptoms (p<0.001), and shorter time between the onset of symptoms and the need for hospitalization (7 [2–9] vs. 10 [6–12] days; p=0.039). CONCLUSION: Long-term oxygen therapy is an effective strategy for reducing hospitalization time in COVID-19 patients, regardless of gravity. Additionally, more obese patients with persistence of respiratory symptoms, faster disease evolution, and more days of invasive mechanical ventilation needed to maintain the long-term oxygen therapy longer. Participaram 20 mulheres, cadastradas em Unidade Básica de Saúde da ilha do Combu, estado do Pará, Brasil, no segundo semestre de 2022. ABSTRACT Objectives: to contribute to the change in understandings and knowledge of the popular system among riverine women about female intimate self-care before and after the application of an educational dynamic. Methods: a qualitative-participative study based on the Sunrise Model. Twenty women registered at a Basic Health Unit on the Combu island, state of Pará, Brazil, participated in the second half of 2022. Semi-structured interviews were conducted before and after the educational dynamic; followed by reflective inductive analysis. Results: these are pointed out: a female mechanism of generational education; the cultural act of bathing as synonymous with intimate self care and disease prevention; intimate care with medicinal herbs; lack of professional system approach to the topic; fear of using “muddy water”; and lack of financial resources to purchase specific products for genitourinary care.
