ABSTRACT In a world where attacks on the information security of organizations have increased, computer auditing emerges as a solution to prevent these unwanted incidents. However, to ensure the effectiveness of these audits, the use of an appropriate security framework is essential. This review article offers a comprehensive analysis of how different security frameworks can influence the effectiveness of computer audits in organizations. A systematic review has been conducted, which includes original articles published in English and Spanish between 2018 and 2023, and available in recognized databases such as Sciencedirect, Springerlink, JSTOR, Dialnet, Scielo, Scopus, and Latinindex.The main purpose of the study is to understand how the implementation of a specific security framework, such as COBIT, LCCI, NIST, CSF, ISG, D4I, and ISO/IEC 27001, can affect computer audits and their corresponding impact on organizations. In addition, it has been discovered that the choice of the security framework can have a significant repercussion on an organization's ability to identify and mitigate security risks, as well as to maintain regulatory compliance and ensure the integrity and confidentiality of data.

RESUMEN En un mundo donde los ataques a la seguridad de la información en las organizaciones se han incrementado, surge la auditoría informática como una solución para prevenir estos sucesos no deseados. No obstante, para asegurar la efectividad de estas auditorías, es imprescindible el uso de un marco de seguridad adecuado. Este artículo de revisión proporciona un estudio completo sobre cómo distintos marcos de seguridad pueden impactar en la efectividad de las auditorías de sistemas en las organizaciones. Se llevó a cabo una revisión sistemática que comprende artículos originales, publicados en inglés y español desde 2018 hasta 2023, y accesibles en bases de datos reconocidas como Sciencedirect, Springerlink, JSTOR, Dialnet, Scielo, Scopus y Latinindex. El propósito principal del estudio es comprender cómo la implementación de un marco de seguridad específico, como COBIT, LCCI, NIST, CSF, ISG, D4I y ISO/IEC 27001, puede afectar las auditorías informáticas y su correspondiente impacto en las organizaciones. Adicionalmente, se ha encontrado que la selección del marco de seguridad puede impactar de manera importante en la habilidad de una organización para detectar y minimizar los riesgos de seguridad, mantener la conformidad con las regulaciones y asegurar la integridad y confidencialidad de los datos.

Abstract The ‘Blue Book’: a Future for Family Medicine in Portugal, edited in 1990 by the Portuguese Association of General Practice and Family Medicine, influenced the subsequent years and built the foundation for the Primary Healthcare Reform, initiated in 2005, but not fully implemented. In the current moment of low professional satisfaction, reviewing the principles that should guide family medicine in the future is important. The family doctor is the individual’s physician, who accompanies people's health throughout their life. Family doctors are specialists in primary healthcare and act according to the core values of family medicine as defined by the WONCA. Their actions form the basis of the health system and are associated with better health outcomes. Therefore, their actions must be centred on the person and the provision of differentiated care, reducing bureaucratic tasks and those with low health value. Physical spaces, equipment, and human resources should be adequately ensured, including the adjustment of the size of patients’ lists to ensure quality and dignified work by the Family Doctor, in every working setting. The Portuguese Association of General Practice and Family Medicine advocates for a performance-based remuneration model appropriate to the family doctor’s activity that compensates and prioritizes value-based healthcare, focusing their actions on the individual and reducing inefficiencies and duplications. This model is based on a new, simplified, and modern quality system grounded in the classic Structure - Process - Results framework but considering the dimensions of patient and professional satisfaction and adequately rewarding clinical work, teamwork, and citizen-centeredness. The present document is an adaptation and translation into English of the book 'A New Future for General and Family Medicine', edited by the Portuguese Association of General Practice and Family Medicine, in 2023.

Resumo O Livro Azul: um futuro para a Medicina de Família em Portugal, editado em 1990 pela Associação Portuguesa de Médicos de Clínica Geral, marcou os anos seguintes e conceptualizou a Reforma dos Cuidados de Saúde Primários, iniciada em 2005, mas não implementada na totalidade. No momento atual de insatisfação profissional é importante rever os princípios que nortearão a medicina geral e familiar no futuro. O médico de família é Médico da Pessoa. É nessa condição que faz o acompanhamento médico ao longo da sua vida. É especialista em cuidados de saúde primários e atua de acordo com os valores da medicina de família definidos pela WONCA. A sua ação é a base do sistema de saúde em que atua e está associada a melhores resultados de saúde. É, por isso, fundamental que a sua ação seja centralizada na pessoa e na prestação de cuidados diferenciados a esta, reduzindo as tarefas burocráticas e de baixo valor em saúde. Devem ser dadas condições materiais, de espaços físicos e de recursos humanos, incluindo adequação do tamanho das listas para garantir um trabalho digno e de qualidade ao médico de família. A APMGF defende um modelo de remuneração pelo desempenho adequado à atividade do médico de família que compense e priorize o valor em saúde, que centre a sua ação na pessoa e que reduza as ineficiências e duplicações. Este modelo assenta num novo sistema da qualidade simplificado e moderno assente no clássico Estrutura - Processo - Resultados, mas que considere as dimensões de satisfação de utentes e profissionais e que compense adequadamente o trabalho clínico, em equipa e centralidade do cidadão. Abstract Sideroxylon capiri (Tempisque) is a tropical tree of the Sapotaceae family, considered of great importance from its biological role, traditional use and high content of secondary metabolites of interest. However, both natural and anthropogenic factors have led to its classification as a threatened species in Mexico according to the NOM-059-SEMARNAT-2010 regulation. Therefore, the development of an in vitro propagation protocol for the conservation of this species is crucial. Within this context, the effect of the growth regulators 6-Benzylaminopurine (BAP) and Picloram on the formation, proliferation and development of embryogenic callus and/or pro-embryogenic structures, as well as the effect of L-Cysteine on the reduction of oxidation in callus which were exposed to UV-B irradiation, was evaluated. Results show a positive response to the application of the combination of BAP and Picloram at concentrations of 4 and 2 mg L-1 respectively, on growth callus. Additionally, the generation of pro-embryogenic callus was observed at concentrations of 0.5 and 1 mg L-1 of BAP and 1.5 and 2 mg L-1 of Picloram. Furthermore, a culture medium was standardized that reduced callus oxidation and browning by using 100 to 200 mg L-1 of L-Cysteine.

Resumen Sideroxylon capiri (tempisque) es un árbol tropical de la familia Sapotaceae, considerado de suma importancia debido a su papel biológico, uso tradicional y alto contenido de metabolitos secundarios de interés. No obstante, debido a factores tanto naturales como antropogénicos, en México se ha catalogado como una especie amenazada de acuerdo con la NOM-059-SEMARNAT-2010. Por lo anterior, es crucial el desarrollo de un protocolo de propagación in vitro para su conservación. En este contexto, se evaluó el efecto de los reguladores de crecimiento 6-Bencilaminopurina (BAP) y Picloram en la formación, proliferación y desarrollo de callo embriogénico y estructuras proembriogénicas, así como el efecto de la L-Cisteína en la reducción de la oxidación en callos, los cuales fueron expuestos a irradiación UV-B. Los resultados mostraron una respuesta positiva ante la aplicación de la combinación de BAP y Picloram en concentraciones de 4 y 2 mg L-1, respectivamente sobre el crecimiento de los callos. Además, se observó la generación de callos proembriogénicos en concentraciones de 0.5 y 1 mg L-1 de BAP y 1.5 y 2 mg L-1 de Picloram. Adicionalmente, se logró estandarizar un medio de cultivo que disminuyó los procesos de oxidación y pardeamiento en los callos mediante el uso de L-Cisteína en concentraciones de 100 a 200 mg L-1.

Contribuyen a través de intervenciones conjuntas y autónomas a lo largo del ciclo vital, promoviendo la salud mental, interpretando el sufrimiento mental y brindando apoyo en enfermedades mentales, tanto en entornos comunitarios como hospitalarios.

Abstract The transformation of mental healthcare in Portugal in recent years has been instrumental in promoting greater humanisation, improved organisation, and proximity to patients. With a predominantly community-focused approach, mental health nurses play a crucial role in its implementation through their knowledge and practice within interdisciplinary teams. They contribute through joint and autonomous interventions across the lifespan, promoting mental health, interpreting mental distress, and providing support for mental illness in community and hospital settings.

Resumo A transformação dos cuidados de saúde mental em Portugal, nos anos recentes tem sido determinante para uma maior humanização, melhor organização e proximidade. Com um foco predominantemente comunitário, os enfermeiros especialistas em Enfermagem de Saúde Mental e Psiquiátrica têm um importante papel na sua implementação, pelo seu conhecimento e prática, incluídos em equipas interdisciplinares, dando contributos através de intervenções conjuntas e autónomas, ao longo do ciclo vital, através da promoção da saúde mental, interpretação do sofrimento mental e acompanhamento na doença mental, em contextos comunitários e hospitalares.

ABSTRACT The relationship between performance in physical tests and the match intensity from the heart rate (HR) response has not been studied in soccer. Thus, this study aimed to verify the correlation between the performance in physical tests and the intensity of the soccer match. Eleven Under-20 soccer players from the first division were evaluated in 2 official matches. The Yo-Yo intermittent aerobic test level 1 (YYIR1), 10-m and 30-m speed, repeated sprints ability (RSA, 6 x 20-20 m), the squat (SJ) and countermovement (CMJ) jump tests were performed. The heart rate (HR) was used to calculate the impulse training (M-TRIMP) by Edwards's methods, and the time spent above 90% of HRmax (HR> 90%) was considered a high-intensity parameter. Pearson's correlation was applied, considering the significance level of p< 0.05. Significant correlations occurred between YYIR1 and M-TRIMP (r= 0.72) and the time in HR> 90% (r= 0.51) and between the best time in RSA (RSAbest) and HR> 90% (r= −0.50). YYIR1 was the best test related to the match intensity measured by the HR. RSAbest was also a good high-intensity indicator of the match, while jump and speed tests were not.

Resumo A estomatite química é um tipo de lesão traumática causada pelo contato de substâncias químicas e medicamentos com os tecidos bucais, resultando em danos clinicamente significativos. Nesse contexto, é relatado o caso de um paciente do sexo masculino com 14 anos, portador de doença renal crónica, em terapia renal substitutiva (diálise peritoneal) e uso de carbonato de cálcio via cápsulas orais para tratamento. Devido a complicações da diálise peritoneal, o paciente apresentou um quadro de peritonite bacteriana, necessitando de internamento em unidade de terapia intensiva e alteração do modo de terapia dialítica para hemodiálise. Durante o período de internamento, foi observado o desenvolvimento de lesões orais significativas devido à administração inadequada de carbonato de cálcio, interferindo na evolução do estado geral de saúde do paciente e exigindo a assistência de uma equipa odontológica para diagnóstico e tratamento. O paciente foi diagnosticado com estomatite química. Durante o exame clínico foi possível observar a presença de lesões ulceradas e hemorrágicas localizadas no lábio, mucosas jugais, palato duro e palato mole. A fotobiomodulação a laser foi utilizada como tratamento associada ao corticosteróide. Cada região recebeu dez pontos de 1 J, de forma que foram fornecidos 60 J de energia por dia/sessão. No total, foram fornecidos 480 J de energia com um tempo total de irradiação de 4800 s. O paciente relatou melhora considerável dos sintomas álgicos após a primeira sessão de fotobiomodulação a laser. Abstract Chemical stomatitis is a type of traumatic injury caused by contact of chemical substances and drugs with oral tissues, resulting in clinically significant damage. This case reports a 14-year-old male patient with chronic kidney disease on renal replacement therapy (peritoneal dialysis) and using calcium carbonate via oral capsules for treatment. Due to peritoneal dialysis complications, the patient developed bacterial peritonitis, requiring intensive care unit admission and alteration of his dialysis therapy mode to hemodialysis. During the hospitalization period, significant oral lesions developed due to inadequate calcium carbonate administration, interfering with the evolution of the patient’s general health and requiring the assistance of a dental team for diagnosis and treatment. The patient was diagnosed with chemical stomatitis. During the clinical examination, ulcerated, bleeding lesions were observed on the lip, jugal mucous membranes, hard palate, and soft palate. Laser photobiomodulation was used as a treatment associated with a topical corticosteroid. Each region received ten 1 J/point, and 60 J of energy were delivered per day/session. In total, 480 J of energy were delivered with a total irradiation time of 4800 s. The patient reported considerable improvement in pain symptoms after the first laser-photobiomodulation session. After 8 sessions, the patient had improved, and laser photobiomodulation proved effective for treating oral lesions.

Abstract Objectives: To investigate whether computed tomography (CT) findings in patients with otosclerosis influence the audiometric prognosis after stapedial surgery. Study design: Retrospective. Material and methods: Patients undergoing stapes surgery, who had undergone prior ear CT and pre- and postoperative pure-tone audiometry (PTA), were included. The degree of otosclerosis on CT was classified according to the Symons and Fanning scale. Therapeutic success was defined as an air-bone gap ≤10 dB HL. Results: The surgical success rate was 91%, with an average improvement of 6.9 dB HL in bone conduction after stapes surgery. Similar results were found in patients with cochlear foci, grades 2-3, on CT (6.5 dB HL). Conclusion: The presence of cochlear otosclerosis foci on CT does not seem to influence postoperative audiometric outcomes.

Resumo Objetivos: Verificar se os achados na tomografia computadorizada (TC) em doentes com otosclerose influenciam o prognóstico audiométrico após cirurgia estapédica. Desenho do estudo: Retrospetivo. Material e métodos: Foram incluídos, doentes submetidos a cirurgia estapédica que realizaram TC de ouvido prévia e audiograma tonal simples (ATS) pré e pós-operatório. O grau de otosclerose na TC foi classificado de acordo a escala de Symons e Fanning. Foi determinado como sucesso terapêutico um hiato aero-ósseo no audiograma tonal simples ≤10 dB HL. Resultados: Verificou-se uma taxa de sucesso cirúrgico global de 91%, com uma melhoria da via óssea em média 6,9 dB HL após cirurgia estapédica, existindo um resultado semelhante nos doentes que apresentaram focos cocleares (graus 2-3) na TC (6,5 dB HL). Conclusão: A presença de focos de otosclerose coclear na TC não pareceu influenciar os resultados audiométricos pós-operatórios.

Resumo Fundamento: As diretrizes da Sociedade Europeia de Cardiologia recomendam um nível de colesterol LDL (LDL-C) < 55 mg/dL para pacientes com doença cardiovascular estabelecida. Embora a fórmula de Friedewald ainda seja amplamente utilizada para estimar o LDL-C, a fórmula mais recente de Martin-Hopkins mostrou maior precisão. Objetivos: Nosso objetivo foi avaliar: A) a proporção de pacientes que atingiram a meta de LDL-C e as terapias utilizadas em um centro terciário; B) o impacto da utilização do método de Martin-Hopkins em vez do método de Friedewald na proporção de pacientes controlados. Métodos: Estudo transversal monocêntrico, incluindo pacientes consecutivos pós-infarto do miocárdio, acompanhados por 20 cardiologistas, em um hospital terciário. Os dados foram coletados retrospectivamente de consultas clínicas realizadas após abril de 2022. Para cada paciente, os níveis de LDL-C e o atingimento das metas foram estimados a partir de um perfil lipídico ambulatorial, utilizando as fórmulas de Friedewald e Martin-Hopkins. Um valor-p bicaudal < 0,05 foi considerado estatisticamente significativo para todos os testes. Resultados: Foram incluídos 400 pacientes (com 67 ± 13 anos, 77% do sexo masculino). Utilizando a fórmula de Friedewald, a mediana de LDL-C sob terapia foi de 64 (50-81) mg/dL, e 31% tinham LDL-C dentro da meta. Estatinas de alta intensidade foram usadas em 64% dos pacientes, 37% estavam em uso de ezetimiba e 0,5% estavam em uso de inibidores de PCSK9. A terapia combinada de estatina de alta intensidade + ezetimiba foi utilizada em 102 pacientes (26%). A aplicação do método de Martin-Hopkins reclassificaria um total de 31 pacientes (7,8%). Entre aqueles considerados controlados pela fórmula de Friedewald, 27 (21,6%) teriam LDL-C estimado por Martin-Hopkins acima da meta. Abstract Background: The European Society of Cardiology guidelines recommend an LDL-cholesterol (LDL-C) < 55 mg/dL for patients with established cardiovascular disease. While the Friedewald equation to estimate LDL-C is still widely used, the newer Martin-Hopkins equation has shown greater accuracy. Objectives: We aimed to assess: A) the proportion of patients reaching LDL-C goal and the therapies used in a tertiary center; B) the impact of using the Martin-Hopkins method instead of Friedewald’s on the proportion of controlled patients. Methods: A single-center cross-sectional study including consecutive post-myocardial infarction patients followed by 20 cardiologists in a tertiary hospital. Data was collected retrospectively from clinical appointments that took place after April 2022. For each patient, the LDL-C levels and attainment of goals were estimated from an ambulatory lipid profile using both Friedewald and Martin-Hopkins equations. A two-tailed p-value of < 0.05 was considered statistically significant for all tests. Results: Overall, 400 patients were included (aged 67 ± 13 years, 77% male). Using Friedewald’s equation, the median LDL-C under therapy was 64 (50-81) mg/dL, and 31% had LDL-C within goals. High-intensity statins were used in 64% of patients, 37% were on ezetimibe, and 0.5% were under PCSK9 inhibitors. Combination therapy of high-intensity statin + ezetimibe was used in 102 patients (26%). Applying the Martin-Hopkins method would reclassify a total of 31 patients (7.8%). Among those deemed controlled by Friedewald’s equation, 27 (21.6%) would have a Martin-Hopkins’ LDL-C above goals. Conclusions: Less than one-third of post-myocardial infarction patients had LDL-C within the goal. Applying the Martin-Hopkins equation would reclassify one-fifth of presumably controlled patients into the non-controlled group. RESUMO: No Brasil, a ureia é o fertilizante nitrogenado mais utilizado para melhorar a produção de forragem. No entanto, seu uso excessivo pode causar impactos ambientais por meio de perdas de nitrogênio (N), como a volatilização da amônia (NH3). Portanto, o objetivo do presente estudo foi ajustar a volatilização de NH3 da ureia aplicada em pastos tropicais em três condições de chuva utilizando modelos matemáticos. Dados foram coletados de pastos de capim-marandu (Brachiaria brizantha) adubado com 50 kg N ha-1 em condições úmidas, intermediárias e secas. A volatilização da NH3 foi medida em cinco câmaras semiabertas durante 21 dias. Os modelos, linear, quadrático, exponencial, Gompertz, Groot e Richards foram testados para ajuste e estimativa da volatilização do NH3. Os modelos de Gompertz, Groot e Richards geraram predições semelhantes aos dados observados, com alto coeficiente de determinação, indicando um melhor ajuste dessas equações aos dados, com acurácia e precisão. No entanto, o modelo Groot foi selecionado devido ao menor erro quadrático médio das predições (0,29% de N total perdido como NH3). ABSTRACT: In Brazil, urea is the most used nitrogen (N) fertilizer to improve forage production. However, their excessive use can cause environmental impacts through N losses, such as ammonia (NH3) volatilization. Therefore, the current study adjusted and estimated the NH3 volatilization from urea applied on tropical pastures in three rainfall conditions using mathematical models. Data were collected from Marandu grass (Brachiaria brizantha) fertilized with 50 kg N ha-1 during wet, intermediate, and dry conditions. Ammonia volatilization was measured in five semi-open chambers for 21 days. The linear, quadratic, exponential, Gompertz, Groot, and Richards models were tested for fitting and estimating the NH3 volatilization. The Gompertz, Groot, and Richards models generated predictions similar to the observed data, with a high determination coefficient, indicating a better fit of these equations to data, with precision and accuracy. However, the Groot model was selected due to the lowest root mean square error of prediction (0.29 % total N lost as NH3). The greatest N loss as NH3 volatilization occurred in the wet, followed by intermediate and dry conditions (20.2, 17.0, and 11.3 % total N lost as NH3, respectively). Therefore, nitrogen losses as NH3 volatilization after application of 50 kg N ha-1, as urea source, are altered according to the weather conditions, reaching 20% of N added in the wet rainfall period. The observational experiment was carried out in 2017/18 and 2018/19 on the ‘Tropic Beauty’ and ‘BRS Kampai’ cultivars by an evaluation of the number and duration of flushes of vegetative growth during the year over two cycles. The number of fruit-bearing shoots, total number of leaves and shoot length were also assessed. At harvest, fruit load and diameter were determined and grouped into diameter ranges. The number of hours recorded at different temperature ranges, < 10.0 °C; 10.1-15.0 °C; 15.1-20.0 °C; 20.1-25.0 °C; > 25.1 °C, were summed separately and divided into daily and nightly periods. The peach tree has an unusual vegetative growth pattern when cultivated in a tropical area, which occurs in two flushes, with the first flush occurring from budbreak to fruit harvest between June and Sept, forming short shoots (less than 10 cm), with early shoot growth cessation, with a limited leaf number that can potentially diminish the supply of carbohydrates to the fruit, leading to smaller growth. Resumen Objetivo: Analizar la prescripción de Profilaxis Post Exposición (PPE) al Virus de la Inmunodeficiencia Humana (VIH) y la concurrencia a las consultas de control y seguimiento. Método: Estudio de datos descriptivo transversal de personas que solicitaron la PPE en Unidades de Atención de Emergencia (UPA) y servicios médicos especializados en Salvador, BA, Brasil, durante los meses de enero a diciembre de 2018. Resultados: De las 1.525 personas que consultaron por PEP en las unidades hospitalarias de emergencia, 1.273 (83,5%) cumplieron criterios de elegibilidad para profilaxis y 252 (16,5%) no los cumplieron; entre los elegibles, a 1.166 (91,6%) personas se les recetaron antirretrovirales (ARVs), pero 107 (8,4%) no los recibieron. Del total de personas que recibieron prescripción de PPE, solamente 226 (19,4%) regresaron a la primera consulta; 115 (9,9%) a la segunda consulta y 33 (2,8%) a la tercera consulta para completar el protocolo. Conclusión: Hubo una proporción significativa de usuarios elegibles que no recibieron prescripción de PEP en las Unidades de Atención de Emergencia y una pérdida significativa en las consultas de control al servicio especializado.

Methods: This was a descriptive cross-sectional study using data on people who sought PEP in emergency care units (UPAs) and specialized medical services in Salvador, BA, Brazil, between January-December/2018. Results: Of the 1,525 people who sought PEP at UPAs, 1,273 (83.5%) met PEP eligibility criteria, while 252 (16.5%) did not; of the eligible group, 1,166 (91.6%) had antiretrovirals prescribed, while 107 (8.4%) eligible people did not; of the total number of people with PEP prescriptions, only 226 (19.4%) returned for the first follow-up appointment, 115 (9.9%) for the second, and 33 (2.8%) for the third in order to complete the protocol. Conclusion: We found a significant proportion of eligible users who did not have PEP prescribed at UPAs and a significant loss of return for specialized service follow-up appointments.

ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: The prevalence of chronic kidney disease (CKD) has increased in the recent decades, along with the number of patients in the terminal stages of this disease, requiring transplantation. Some skin disorders are more frequent in patients with CKD and in renal transplant recipients (RTR). OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the frequency of skin diseases in RTR and patients with CKD receiving conservative treatment. DESIGN AND SETTING: This observational cross-sectional study recruited consecutive patients with CKD and RTR from a nephrology clinic at a teaching hospital in Brazil between 2015 and 2020. METHODS: Quantitative, descriptive, and analytical approaches were used. The sample was selected based on convenience sampling. Data were collected from dermatological visits and participants’ medical records. RESULTS: Overall, 308 participants were included: 206 RTR (66.9%, median age: 48 years, interquartile range [IQR] 38.0–56.0, 63.6% men) and 102 patients with CKD (33.1%, median age: 61.0 years, IQR 50.0–71.2, 48% men). The frequency of infectious skin diseases (39.3% vs. 21.6% P = 0.002) were higher in RTR than in patients with CKD. Neoplastic skin lesions were present in nine (4.4%) RTR and in only one (1.0%) patient with CKD. Among the RTR, the ratio of basal cell carcinoma to squamous cell carcinoma was 2:1. CONCLUSIONS: This study revealed that an increased frequency of infectious skin diseases may be expected in patients who have undergone kidney transplantation. ABSTRACT The varied clinical presentations of SARS-CoV-2 infection have raised concerns about long-term consequences, especially “long-COVID” or “post-COVID-19 syndrome.” In this context, the cardiorespiratory optimal point (COP) within the Cardiopulmonary Exercise Test (CPET) emerges as a crucial metric for evaluating functional capacities and detecting cardiovascular and pulmonary anomalies post-COVID-19. This study aimed to assess COP values among post-COVID-19 patients and categorized them based on the initial severity of their disease. In this cross-sectional study conducted in the Northeast Brazil, 80 patients (26 females and 54 males) previously infected with SARS-CoV-2 underwent CPET. We clinically stratified patients into mild, moderate, or severe COVID-19 categories and assessed COP values and other cardiorespiratory metrics. We found differences in the predicted COP between patients with mild and severe COVID-19 (p=0.042). Additionally, patients with moderate and severe COVID-19 record had an average COP value exceeding 22. Other parameters, including respiratory exchange ratio, heart rate, and oxygen uptake efficiency slope, did not differ across the groups. Patients with a history of severe COVID-19 showed altered COP values, suggesting potential discrepancies in cardiovascular and respiratory system integration. The outcomes emphasize the importance of continuous monitoring and assessment of the cardiorespiratory domain for post-COVID-19 patients. Further research is needed to understand the relationship between elevated COP in post-severe COVID-19 and its long-term prognostic implications. Resumo No presente estudo analisou-se a relação entre a qualidade da educação – estrutura escolar física, estrutura escolar pedagógica, docentes, discentes e políticas educacionais - de escolas públicas de municípios mineiros e os seus desempenhos, de premiados, na OBMEP. Tal investigação tem como diferencial a utilização de uma abordagem quantitativa, demonstrando que a OBMEP é relacional, baseada na qualidade social da educação e na ótica não equânime do sucesso das escolas públicas em políticas relacionadas à educação. Na literatura existente, a OBMEP foi discutida preponderantemente pelas abordagens pedagógicas ou de conteúdos das provas, e não como ação a ser influenciada nas escolas. Com uma amostra de 420 escolas públicas pertencentes à regional MG06 da OBMEP, aplicou-se um modelo de regressão de Poisson, associando-se variáveis representativas da qualidade social da educação - fatores intra e extra escolares - com o desempenho na OBMEP, quantidade de medalhas obtidas pelas escolas. Abstract This study aims to analyze the relationship between the quality of education - physical school infrastructure, pedagogical school structure, teachers, students, and educational policies - in public schools in the state of Minas Gerais as well as their performance in the OBMEP (Brazilian Mathematics Olympiad for Public Schools). This investigation stands out for its use of a quantitative approach by demonstrating that OBMEP is relational, based on the social quality of education, and adopts the perspective of uneven success of public schools in education-related policies. In existing literature, OBMEP has predominantly been discussed from a pedagogical viewpoint or taking the content of tests in consideration rather than as an action to be influenced within schools. With a sample of 420 public schools in the MG06 region of OBMEP, a Poisson regression model was applied to associate variables representing the social quality of education – including both in-school and extracurricular factors - with a performance in OBMEP, specifically the number of medals obtained by the schools. It was observed that to achieve satisfactory performance, to succeed in OBMEP and obtain awards, public schools need to have appropriate infrastructure, teaching conditions, students in favorable access and retention situations in regular education, as well as ongoing official intervention by developing public education policies. RESUMO Este relato apresenta o caso de um paciente adulto com limitações mentais e intelectuais, cuja queixa principal era a estética dental. O tratamento odontológico foi realizado na Faculdade de Odontologia de Piracicaba e aprovado pelo Comitê de Ética (CAAE: 65752322.2.0000.5418). Clinicamente, o paciente apresentava inadequações no arranjo dentário, com comprometimento periodontal, que colocava em risco os elementos dentais. Nos aspectos clínicos intrabucais, a deficiência foi identificada como atresia maxilar. A inclinação vestíbulo-lingual dos dentes anteriores inferiores destacou o apinhamento severo e o cruzamento anterior desses dentes. O tratamento odontológico foi realizado visando à remissão dos problemas periodontais e ortodônticos de forma integrada e com abordagens que permitissem maior interação, participação e adesão do paciente durante o tratamento. Foram realizadas raspagens supra e subgengivais e extração do incisivo lateral superior esquerdo. Após três meses de tratamento periodontal, iniciou-se o tratamento ortodôntico com aparelhos ortodônticos fixos. O objetivo principal foi nivelar e alinhar os dentes em ambas as arcadas para alcançar melhores condições estéticas e funcionais. Devido à pandemia de COVID-19, o tratamento foi interrompido. Isso resultou na regressão dos resultados obtidos, inclusive quanto ao autocuidado. As pessoas com deficiência requerem atendimento odontológico com estratégias específicas para suas necessidades, que devem ser realizadas por uma equipe multidisciplinar. ABSTRACT This report presents the case of an adult patient with mental and intellectual limitations, whose main complaint was dental aesthetics. Dental treatment was performed at the Piracicaba Dental School and approved by the Ethics Committee (CAAE: 65752322.2.0000.5418). Clinically, the patient had inadequacies in the dental arrangement, with periodontal involvement that put the dental elements at risk. In intraoral clinical aspects, the deficiency was identified as maxillary atresia. The buccolingual inclination of the mandibular anterior teeth highlighted the severe crowding and anterior crossing of these teeth. Dental treatment was carried out aiming at the remission of periodontal and orthodontic problems in an integrated manner and with approaches that allowed greater interaction, participation, and patient compliance during treatment. Supra and subgingival scrapings and extraction of the upper left lateral incisor were performed. After three months of periodontal treatment, orthodontic treatment was started with fixed orthodontic appliances. The main objective was to level and align the teeth in both arches to achieve better aesthetic and functional conditions. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, treatment has been discontinued. This resulted in the regression of the results obtained, including regarding self-care. People with disabilities require dental care with specific strategies for their needs, which must be carried out by a multidisciplinary team.
