ABSTRACT Purpose: This study aimed to compare the safety and effectiveness of intraocular pressure reduction between micropulse transscleral cyclophotocoagulation and “slow cook” transscleral cyclophotocoagulation in patients with refractory primary open-angle glaucoma. Methods: We included patients with primary open angle glaucoma with at least 12 months of follow-up. We collected and analyzed data on the preoperative characteristics and postoperative outcomes. The primary outcomes were a reduction of ≥20% of the baseline value (criterion A) and/or intraocular pressure between 6 and 21 mmHg (criterion B). Results: We included 128 eyes with primary open-angle glaucoma. The preoperative mean intraocular pressure was 25.53 ± 6.40 and 35.02 ± 12.57 mmHg in the micropulse- and “slow cook” transscleral cyclophotocoagulation groups, respectively (p<0.001). The mean intraocular pressure was reduced significantly to 14.33 ± 3.40 and 15.37 ± 5.85 mmHg in the micropulse- and “slow cook” transscleral cyclophotocoagulation groups at the last follow-up, respectively (p=0.110). The mean intraocular pressure reduction at 12 months was 11.20 ± 11.46 and 19.65 ± 13.22 mmHg in the micropulse- and “slow cook” transscleral cyclophotocoagulation groups, respectively (p<0.001). The median preoperative logMAR visual acuity was 0.52 ± 0.69 and 1.75 ± 1.04 in the micropulse- and “slow cook” transscleral cyclophotocoagulation groups, respectively (p<0.001). The mean visual acuity variation was −0.10 ± 0.35 and −0.074 ± 0.16 in the micropulse- and “slow cook” transscleral cyclophotocoagulation, respectively (p=0.510). Preoperatively, the mean eye drops were 3.44 ± 1.38 and 2.89 ± 0.68 drugs in the micropulse- and “slow cook” transscleral cyclophotocoagulation groups, respectively (p=0.017), but those were 2.06 ± 1.42 and 1.02 ± 1.46 at the end of the study in the “slow cook” and micropulse transscleral cyclophotocoagulation groups, respectively (p<0.001). The success of criterion A was not significant between both groups. Compared with 11 eyes (17.74%) in the “slow cook” transscleral cyclophotocoagulation group, 19 eyes (28.78%) in the micropulse transscleral cyclophotocoagulation group showed complete success (p=0.171). For criterion B, 28 (42.42%) and 2 eyes (3.22%) showed complete success after micropulse- and “slow cook” transscleral cyclophotocoagulation, respectively (p<0.001). ABSTRACT Due to the importance of grain production, and the need to work the soil under limited moisture, the aim of this study was to develop computer software to predict the tractive capacity of wheeled tractors for two types of tyre, the effect of different inflation pressures and levels of soil moisture. A mathematical model was developed to predict the tractive capacity of a 4 x 2 AFT tractor. Software was developed and tested by comparing the computational data with those from tests of a working tractor in the field. The parameters under evaluation were drawbar force and front and rear drive wheel slip. At both moisture levels, the bias tyres had the lowest front to rear slip ratio at the lower pressure; the ratios were similar when equipped with radial tyres. The bias tyres show maximum force at a slip ratio of 1.09 at the higher pressure and 1.03 at the lower, while for the radial tyres the ratio was 1.05 at the higher pressure and 1.07 at the lower. Software was developed to process data from the model, with the results used for estimating the tractive force of the tractor. RESUMO: Visando a qualidade nutricional e funcional dos resíduos agroindustriais, o estudo teve como objetivo estabelecer a mistura ternária de farinhas elaboradas com resíduos de abacaxi, acerola e maracujá utilizando o delineamento simplex-centroide, assim como avaliar seus efeitos nas características físico-químicas e sensoriais em gelados comestíveis. Com o planejamento de misturas, nove componentes ternários das farinhas foram aplicados em formulações de gelados comestíveis para avaliação dos escores de aceitação para os atributos sabor, textura e impressão global, bem como os parâmetros físico-químicos (pH, acidez, sólidos solúveis e parâmetros de cor) e microbiológicos (coliformes termotolerantes a 45 ºC, Enterobacteriaceae e Salmonella). O delineamento simplex-centroide demonstrou que o modelo cúbico melhor prediz os resultados para os atributos sensoriais analisados. Os gráficos de superfície de resposta indicaram a área de maior aceitação nas formulações com o máximo percentual estabelecido para a farinha com os resíduos de acerola. O maior índice de aceitabilidade foi atribuído a mistura ternária constituída com 60%, 30% e 10% para as farinhas de abacaxi, maracujá e acerola, respectivamente. ABSTRACT: To improve the nutritional and functional quality of agro-industrial waste, his study established a ternary mixture of flours made from pineapple, acerola, and passion fruit waste using the simplex-centroid design, as well as to evaluate their effects on the physicochemical and sensory characteristics of edible ice cream. Using mixture planning, nine ternary flour components were applied to edible ice cream formulations to evaluate acceptance scores for taste, texture, and overall impression attributes, as well as physicochemical parameters (pH, acidity, soluble solids, and color parameters) and microbiological parameters (thermotolerant coliforms at 45 ºC, Enterobacteriaceae and Salmonella). The simplex-centroid design demonstrated that the cubic model best predicts the results for the analyzed sensory attributes. The response surface graphs indicated the area of greatest acceptance in the formulations with the maximum percentage established for the flour with acerola waste. The highest level of acceptability was given to the ternary mixture of 60%, 30%, and 10% pineapple, passion fruit, and acerola flours, respectively. The results indicated that sorbet enriched with flour composed of the ternary mixture is a product with the potential for exploitation, as well as contributing to the reduction of environmental impacts generated by the large and improper disposal of agro-industrial fruit processing residues in the ecosystem. Abstract Introduction: COVID-19 manifests with acute symptoms. After coronavirus infection, they may persist or new ones may emerge, compromising functional capacity and self-care. This condition has been named “acute post-COVID-19 syndrome”. Objective: To evaluate functional capacity and self-care in post-COVID-19 patients. Materials and methods: This is a descriptive and exploratory study, which evaluated 53 medical records of patients receiving care in a Functional Recovery Program for acute post-COVID-19 syndrome, conducted at a public university, from August 2022 to August 2023. A descriptive and association analysis was performed using Pearson’s Chi-squared or Fisher’s exact nonparametric tests, with a significance level of 5 % (p < 0.05). Results: Most participants were female, aged over 50 and receiving home care during the infection. Associations were found between the length of hospitalization (p = 0.03), having a history of surgery (p = 0.01), and a medium self-care capacity (p = 0.04) with the functional capacity to perform instrumental activities of daily living (IADL). Conclusion: Post-COVID-19 syndrome is associated with medium self-care capacity and partial dependence in terms of IADLs. The finding contributes to the development of health education and care strategies aimed at providing recovery.

Essa condição foi chamada "síndrome pós-covid-19 aguda". Objetivo: Avaliar a capacidade funcional e o autocuidado em pacientes pós-covid-19. Materiais e método: Trata-se de um estudo descritivo e exploratório, que avaliou 53 prontuários de pacientes atendidos em um Programa de Reabilitação Funcional da síndrome pós--covid-19 aguda, desenvolvido em uma universidade pública, de agosto de 2022 a agosto de 2023. Procedeu-se à análise descritiva e de associação com testes não paramétricos Qui-quadrado de Pearson ou exato de Fisher, com nível de significancia de 5 % (p < 0,05). Resultado: A maioria era do sexo feminino, maiores de 50 anos com tratamento domiciliar durante a infecção. Foram encontradas associações entre tempo de internamento (p = 0,03), história de cirurgias (p = 0,01) e média capacidade para o autocuidado (p = 0,04) com a capacidade funcional para realizar as atividades instrumentais de vida diária (AIVD). Conclusões: A síndrome pós-covid-19 está associada à média capacidade de autocuidado e dependência parcial para AIVD. O achado contribui para a elaboração de estratégias de educação em saúde e cuidado voltado à reabilitação.

Esta condición se ha denominado "síndrome Post COVID-19 agudo". Objetivo: Evaluar la capacidad funcional y el autocuidado en pacientes post COVID-19. Materiales y método: Se trata de un estudio descriptivo y exploratorio, en el que se evaluaron 53 historias clínicas de pacientes atendidos en un Programa de Rehabilitación Funcional para el Síndrome Post COVID-19 Agudo, desarrollado en una universidad pública, desde agosto de 2022 hasta agosto de 2023. Se realizó análisis descriptivo y de asociación mediante las pruebas no paramétricas chi-cuadrado de Pearson o exacto de Fisher, con un nivel de significación del 5 % (p < 0,05). Resultados: La mayoría eran mujeres, mayores de 50 años y tratadas en su domicilio durante la infección. Se encontraron asociaciones entre el tiempo de hospitalización (p = 0,03), el antecedente de cirugía (p = 0,01) y la capacidad mediana de autocuidado (p = 0,04) con la capacidad funcional para realizar actividades instrumentales de la vida diaria (AIVD). Conclusiones: El síndrome post-covid-19 agudo se asocia con capacidad mediana de autocuidado y dependencia parcial para las AIVD. El hallazgo aporta al desarrollo de estrategias de educación para la salud y cuidados orientados a la rehabilitación.

ABSTRACT Indigenous peoples’ access to Brazilian universities has had an exclusionary history. With the aim of analyzing implications and consequences of their presence in these spaces, a federal university was the object of this intervention study due to its pioneering spirit. Indigenous students, teachers, and managers exposed, in focus groups and interviews, ‘unsaid’ aspects of indigenous higher education. Resumo Este artigo aborda a questão da habitação e dos aglomerados subnormais no contexto de municípios selecionados da Região Metropolitana do Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, e verifica a viabilidade de cumprimento da meta 11.1 dos objetivos de desenvolvimento sustentável (ODS) em escala regional. São utilizados como fontes de dados, estudos recentes encomendados e divulgados pelo Governo Federal Brasileiro e dados do Censo. Na realidade estudada, o município de Belford Roxo, com índices alarmantes de comunidades e domicílios em contexto de aglomerados subnormais, apresenta tendência de deterioração da situação da habitação. Japeri e Queimados, pelas taxas de crescimento demográfico das últimas décadas, também merecem ser monitorados. Enquanto Nova Iguaçu, Mesquita e Nilópolis, com percentuais menores de suas populações vivendo em aglomerados subnormais, apresentam condições propícias para o alcançar a meta 11.1 dos ODS até 2030.

Abstract This article addresses the issue of housing and subnormal agglomerations in selected municipalities within the Metropolitan Region of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and verifies the feasibility of achieving target 11.1 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on a regional scale. Recent studies commissioned and released by the Brazilian Federal Government and Census data are used as data sources. In the reality studied, the municipality of Belford Roxo, with alarming rates of communities and households in the context of subnormal agglomerations, shows a tendency to deteriorate the housing situation. Japeri and Queimados, due to the demographic growth rates of recent decades. Conversely, Nova Iguaçu, Mesquita, and Nilópolis, with smaller proportions of their populations living in subnormal agglomerations, present a favorable condition for achieving target 11.1 of the SDGs by 2030.

Resumen Este artículo aborda el tema de la vivienda y de las aglomeraciones subnormales en el contexto de municipios seleccionados de la Región Metropolitana de Río de Janeiro - Brasil, y verifica la viabilidad de alcanzar la meta 11.1 de los objetivos de desarrollo sostenible (ODS) a escala regional. Los estudios recientes encargados y publicados por el gobierno federal brasileño y los datos del censo se utilizan como fuentes de datos. En la realidad estudiada, el municipio de Belford Roxo, con índices alarmantes de comunidades y viviendas en el contexto de aglomeraciones subnormales, muestra una tendencia al deterioro de la situación habitacional. Japeri y Queimados, debido a las tasas de crecimiento demográfico de las últimas décadas, también merecen ser monitoreadas, mientras que Nova Iguaçu, Mesquita y Nilópolis, con porciones más pequeñas de sus poblaciones viviendo en aglomeraciones subnormales, presentan una condición favorable para alcanzar la meta 11.1 de los ODS para 2030.

This study, a Doctorate Research excerpt, aimed to map the effects of an on-line pedagogical intervention guided on physical activity (PA) self-regulatory strategies during the pandemic at a public school. This is qualitative Research, of the pedagogical intervention type using an educational tool. 35 high school students (14 to 17 years old) were interviewed in 8 on-line focus groups. The software IRaMuTeQ was employed to interpret data. The results were organized in six classes: “Diary as in incentive to PA”, “Strategies to increase motivation”, “Choices and PA sociostructural factors”, “How preferences and social support influences PA”, “Goals and self-assessment reflections”, “PA monitoring”. Previously inactive, insufficiently active students (who identified themselves with the educational tool´s character) felt more confident to engage in PA (positive effect) using strategies taught in the intervention (PA diary). Previously physically active students rated the intervention effects as neutral, but praised critical debates on social inequalities and PA. During the intervention, some students employed simple self-regulatory strategies (graded goals), while others did not employ any due to not being something intuitive, lack of motivation, forgetting. This pedagogical intervention seems to be effective to teach the conceptual interfaces between PA, psychology, and society.

En este estudio, que forma parte de una investigación de Doctorado, nos propusimos mapear los efectos de una intervención pedagógica en línea anclada en estrategias autorreguladoras de actividad física (AF) durante la pandemia en un instituto público. Se trata de una investigación cualitativa, del tipo intervención pedagógica con ayuda de recurso didáctico. Se realizaron 8 entrevistas semiestructuradas en grupo en línea con 35 alumnos (14 a 17 años) de la enseñanza secundaria. Se utilizó el software IRaMuTeQ para interpretar los datos. Los resultados se organizaron en seis clases: "Diario como estímulo para AF", "Estrategias para aumentar la motivación", "Elecciones y factores socioestructurales para AF", "Influencia del gusto y del incentivo para AF", "Reflexiones sobre metas y autoevaluación", "Monitoreo de la AF". Alumnos anteriormente inactivos o poco activos (identificados con el personaje del recurso didáctico) se sintieron más seguros para practicar AF (efecto positivo) con estrategias enseñadas en la intervención (diario de AF). Los estudiantes físicamente activos atribuyeron un efecto neutro a la intervención, pero valoraron las reflexiones críticas sobre las desigualdades sociales y la AF. Algunos estudiantes emplearon estrategias sencillas de autorregulación (metas graduales) de forma más consistente durante la intervención, mientras que otros no las emplearon porque: no eran intuitivas; les faltó motivación; se olvidaron de hacerlo. La intervención pedagógica parece ser eficaz para la enseñanza conceptual de las interfaces entre AF, psicología y sociedad.

Estudantes previamente inativos ou pouco ativos (identificados com o personagem do recurso didático) sentiram-se mais confiantes para praticar AF (efeito positivo) com estratégias ensinadas na intervenção (diário de AF). Estudantes ativos fisicamente atribuíram efeito neutro à intervenção, mas valorizaram as reflexões críticas sobre as desigualdades sociais e a AF. Alguns estudantes empregaram estratégias autorregulatórias simples (metas graduais) mais consistentemente durante a intervenção, enquanto outros não as empregaram por: não ser algo intuitivo; falta de motivação; esquecimento. A intervenção pedagógica parece ser eficaz para o ensino conceitual das interfaces entre AF, psicologia e sociedade.

ABSTRACT Integrated management is considered the best strategy to mitigate the damage caused by plant-parasitic nematodes. However, there is still limited information regarding some integrated techniques. Thus, this study aimed to assess the effects of genetic management associated with chemical control of Meloidogyne javanica in soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) The experiment was installed in a greenhouse according to an 8×4 factorial design with eight replicates. The first factor was soybean cultivar (HO Juruena IPRO, resistant; Foco IPRO, HO Maracaí IPRO, and CZ 58B28 IPRO, moderately resistant; HO Mamoré IPRO, moderately susceptible; and Extrema IPRO, CZ 48B32 IPRO, and HO Aporé IPRO, susceptible). The second factor consisted of an untreated control and commercial nematicides based on abamectin, thiodicarb+imidacloprid, and fluopyram. Plants were inoculated with 2000 nematode eggs, and nematode and vegetative variables were evaluated at 65 d after inoculation. There was an interaction effect on nematode variables. Furthermore, there was an additive effect of genetic management and chemical control, mainly in resistant cultivars treated with thiodicarb+imidacloprid or fluopyram with controls of up to 69.90% and 96.86%, respectively. The application of fluopyram and the use of ‘HO Juruena IPRO’, ‘Foco IPRO’, or ‘HO Maracaí IPRO’ also contributed to the control of M. javanica. Vegetative variables were studied by analyzing product effects separately, but results were inconclusive.

La muerte es un fenómeno complejo, referente al término de un ciclo. Cuando se habla del contexto neonatal, se observa la dificultad de aceptación de ese evento que está presente desde la más tierna edad. De tal forma, la investigación-acción se adentra como una metodología pertinente a la problemática, puesto que une el problema de investigación y el proceso educativo, con el objetivo de construir un aprendizaje colectivo. De tal forma, se buscó reflejar la experiencia de la utilización de la investigación-acción en un estudio matricial, con vistas a desarrollar e implementar una intervención educativa para la muerte, con profesionales de enfermería de una Unidad de Terapia Intensiva Neonatal. La utilización de la investigación-acción auxilió en la implementación de acciones educativas enfocadas en los profesionales de enfermería sobre la temática de muerte en un contexto neonatal.

Action research is an appropriate research method for investigating this issue as it brings together the research problem and the educational process with the aim of promoting collective learning. This study presents the experience of using action research in a matrix study with the aim of developing and implementing a death education intervention for nurses working in a neonatal intensive care unit. The use of action research contributed to the implementation of educational actions addressing the theme of neonatal death aimed at nurses.

A morte é um fenômeno complexo que se refere ao término de um ciclo. Quando se fala do contexto neonatal, observa-se a dificuldade de aceitação desse evento, que está presente desde a mais tenra idade. Dessa forma, buscou-se refletir a experiência da utilização da pesquisa-ação em um estudo matricial, visando desenvolver e implementar uma intervenção educativa para a morte com profissionais de enfermagem de uma Unidade de Terapia Intensiva Neonatal. A utilização da pesquisa-ação auxiliou na implementação de ações educativas voltadas aos profissionais de enfermagem acerca da temática de morte em um contexto neonatal.

ABSTRACT Objective To estimate vaccination coverage, identify barriers and hesitancy to vaccinating children up to 24 months, born between 2017-2018, living in the urban area of Rio Branco, Acre, Brazil. Methods Population survey carried out from 2020 to 2021, which assessed sociodemographic characteristics and vaccination status among children. Results Among 451 included children, vaccination coverage was below 80%. Meningococcal C vaccine had the lowest coverage for administered doses (76.3%; 95%CI 70.5;81.3) and doses on time (27.4%; 95%CI 23.1;32.1). The statements “vaccines cause serious adverse reactions” (26.4%; 95%CI 18.1;36.8) and “you don’t need vaccination for diseases that no longer exist” (22%; 95%CI 15.7;29.8) were the most frequent regarding vaccination hesitancy. Lack of vaccines was the main barrier to care (86.6%; 95%CI 71.8;94.3). Conclusion Vaccination coverage in children born in 2017-2018 was below the target recommended for the full schedule of administered doses, both valid and timely administered.

RESUMO Objetivo Estimar a cobertura vacinal, identificar barreiras e hesitação à vacinação em crianças com até 24 meses, nascidas em 2017 e 2018, residentes na área urbana de Rio Branco-AC. Métodos Inquérito populacional realizado de 2020 a 2021, que avaliou as características sociodemográficas e a situação vacinal em crianças nascidas entre 2017 e 2018. Resultados Entre as 451 crianças estudadas, as coberturas vacinais foram inferiores a 80%. A menor cobertura para doses aplicadas (76,3%; IC95% 70,5;81,3) e oportunas (27,4%; IC95% 23,1;32,1) foi para o reforço da meningocócica C. As afirmações “vacinas causam reações adversas graves” (26,4%; IC95% 18,1;36,8) e “não precisa da vacina para doenças que não existem mais” (22%; IC95% 15,7;29,8) foram as mais frequentes quanto à hesitação vacinal. A falta da vacina foi a principal barreira assistencial (86,6%; IC95% 71,8;94,3). Conclusão As coberturas vacinais em crianças nascidas em 2017 e 2018 ficaram abaixo da meta preconizada nos esquemas completos de doses aplicadas, válidas e oportunas.

RESUMO O acesso dos povos indígenas às universidades brasileiras teve um histórico excludente. Com o objetivo de analisar implicações e desdobramentos de suas presenças nesses espaços, uma universidade federal foi objeto deste estudo de intervenção por seu pioneirismo. Estudantes indígenas, docentes e gestores expuseram, em grupos focais e entrevistas, ‘não ditos’ do ensino superior indígena. Verificouse como seus movimentos contemporâneos saem dos territórios e chegam ao setor, dialogando com as propostas da promoção da saúde, sustentabilidade e Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável. Avanços, dificuldades, contradições e contribuições culturais revelam a importância destes e favorecem questões mais amplas, oferecendo novos olhares a processos desenvolvidos.

ABSTRACT Indigenous peoples’ access to Brazilian universities has had an exclusionary history. With the aim of analyzing implications and consequences of their presence in these spaces, a federal university was the object of this intervention study due to its pioneering spirit. Indigenous students, teachers, and managers exposed, in focus groups and interviews, ‘unsaid’ aspects of indigenous higher education. It was verified how their contemporary movements leave the territories and reach the sector, dialoguing with the proposals for health promotion, sustainability, and Sustainable Development Goals. Advances, difficulties, contradictions, and cultural contributions reveal their importance and favor broader issues, offering new perspectives on the processes developed.

Resumo Analisou-se o acesso aos serviços de saúde bucal oferecidos aos indígenas Xukuru do Ororubá (Pesqueira-PE) aldeados, entre 2017 e 2018. Estudo ecológico com dados secundários extraídos do Sistema de Informação da Atenção à Saúde Indígena (SIASI). As unidades de análise foram as aldeias. Foram analisados os procedimentos realizados pelas equipes de saúde bucal que atuam no contexto, verificando indicadores de acesso e desempenho dos serviços e seus parâmetros. Foram caracterizadas as condições socioeconômicas e demográficas, a provisão de serviços e os componentes espaciais do território. Foram estimados coeficientes de correlação entre indicadores. Os resultados revelaram crescimento da cobertura de primeira consulta odontológica, da média de procedimentos per capita, da proporção de exodontias e da cobertura da escovação dental supervisionada e queda da taxa de tratamentos concluídos. Verificaram-se melhores oportunidades de acesso para os indígenas Xukuru do Ororubá no período analisado, com a necessidade persistente de fortalecimento da continuidade das ações, de maneira a possibilitar a conclusão dos tratamentos. Aponta-se para a necessidade de indicadores adequados ao contexto da saúde indígena e às potencialidades do SIASI para vigilância em saúde bucal.

Abstract This ecological study conducted with secondary data extracted from the Indigenous Health Care Information System (SIASI) analyzed the access to oral health services provided to Xukuru do Ororubá Indigenous peoples from 2017 to 2018. The units of analysis were the Indigenous villages. The services delivered by the oral health teams working in the context were analyzed, verifying access and performance indicators and their parameters. The socioeconomic and demographic conditions, the provision of services, and the spatial components of the territory were characterized. The correlation coefficients between indicators were estimated. The results showed a growing coverage of first dental appointments, the mean number of procedures per capita, the percentage of tooth extractions, the coverage of supervised tooth brushing, and a decrease in the rate of completed treatments. There were better access opportunities for the Xukuru do Ororubá Indigenous people in the period analyzed. However, there is a persistent need to strengthen the continuity of services to complete treatments. The study points to the need for indicators suitable for the context of Indigenous health and the potential of the SIASI for oral health surveillance.

Resumen Se analizó el acceso a los servicios de salud bucal ofrecidos a los pueblos indígenas Xukuru do Ororubá (Pesqueira-PE) entre 2017 y 2018. Estudio ecológico con datos secundarios extraídos del Sistema de Información de Atención a la Salud Indígena (SIASI). Las unidades de análisis fueron las aldeas. Se analizaron los procedimientos realizados por los equipos de salud bucal que trabajan en el contexto, comprobando indicadores de acceso y desempeño de los servicios y sus parámetros. Se caracterizaron las condiciones socioeconómicas y demográficas, la prestación de servicios y los componentes espaciales del territorio. Se estimaron coeficientes de correlación entre indicadores. Los resultados revelaron crecimiento en la cobertura de la primera consulta odontológica, el promedio de procedimientos per cápita, la proporción de extracciones y la cobertura del cepillado dental supervisado; y una caída en la tasa de tratamientos completados. Hubo mejores oportunidades de acceso para el pueblo indígena Xukuru do Ororubá en el período analizado, persistiendo la necesidad de fortalecer la continuidad de las acciones, para posibilitar la culminación de los tratamientos. Se destaca la necesidad de indicadores apropiados al contexto de la salud indígena y el potencial del SIASI para la vigilancia de la salud bucal.

The discussions on human rights, gender and race are global and urgent. Using elements of participatory research, this study aimed to analyze, understand and characterize the formative process of postgraduate student’s knowledge and reflections mobilized on the gender and sexuality in the teaching of Science/Chemistry. The results show that the students started from a counter-hegemonic intentionality regarding the way in which the issue of hormones is traditionally treated in Science/Chemistry teaching. Furthermore, they recognized scientific knowledge as active in the production and reproduction of systems of oppression teacher on diversity education transgressive way of teaching the subject, beyond the binary conception of gender. ABSTRACT Maize landraces diversity is important for many smallholder and indigenous populations. Gene flow constitutes a threat to the genetic conservation of several locally adapted maize landraces and, risk management depends on monitoring transgenic occurrence in non-GM maize. This study evaluated the occurrence of exogenous proteins from GM-maize in maize landraces and teosinte cultivated in the Alto Jequitinhonha region, State of Minas Gerais. Gene flow from GM maize to non-transgenic varieties was evaluated in eight maize groups and one teosinte variety. A transgenic maize variety was used as a positive control. Proteins Cry1F and Cry2Ab2 were monitored using the Protein Detection Assay kit (Envirologix QuickStix® kit protocols for detecting Cry1F and Cry2Ab2 proteins).
