ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: The Hip Sports Activity Scale (HSAS) is a hip-specific instrument for assessing the present levels of physical activity among patients with femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) syndrome. When evaluating treatment outcomes in patients with FAI syndrome, it is necessary to use joint-specific instruments and ones that can evaluate the levels of physical activity in these patients, such as the HSAS-Brazil. OBJECTIVE: To validate the HSAS-Brazil among a group of physically active patients after arthroscopic treatment of FAI syndrome. DESIGN AND SETTING: Cross-sectional research of quantitative and qualitative types using data obtained from July 2018 to October 2019. METHODS: A total of 58 patients of both genders diagnosed with FAI syndrome and who had undergone hip arthroscopy participated in this research. To establish reliability and validity, patients first answered the Brazilian versions of the 12-Item Short-Form Health Survey (SF-12), Nonarthritic Hip Score (NAHS), and HSAS; after a 48-hour interval, they answered the HSAS-Brazil again. RESULTS: For test-retest reliability, the interclass correlation was 0.908 (P < 0.001). The HSAS-Brazil correlated to the NAHS-Brazil (r = 0.63, P < 0.001), as well as the SF-12 (Physical Health) (r = 0.42, P = 0.001). CONCLUSION: The HSAS-Brazil was validated and proved to be a reliable and valid scale to assess sports activity levels in physically active patients with FAI syndrome after arthroscopic treatment. Resumo O objetivo deste artigo é avaliar a qualidade do sono em indivíduos durante a pandemia de COVID-19 pelo Índice de Qualidade do Sono de Pittsburgh (IQSP). Buscas foram realizadas nas bases de dados PubMed, Embase, Web of Science e PEDro, em 22 de maio de 2020. Nas publicações, foram encontrados 208 artigos e, considerando os critérios de elegibilidade, foram incluídos ao final 10 artigos, mostrando os efeitos na qualidade do sono durante a pandemia, em populações hospitalizadas, em quarentena e em profissionais de saúde. O IQSP mediu os distúrbios do sono e uma pontuação mais alta indicava uma má qualidade do sono. Foram classificados nove artigos com nível de evidência IV e um como nível III-2. Oito estudos apresentaram um risco de viés “crítico” e dois em “moderado”. Os estudos investigaram diferentes populações e descreveram os resultados como uma má qualidade do sono, considerando o IQSP, sendo os titulares de quarentena e profissionais de saúde como os mais comprometidos. Foi encontrado uma má qualidade do sono nas populações avaliadas nas publicações selecionadas, provavelmente, devido ao COVID-19 contribuir como um fator de risco para saúde mental. O objetivo do estudo foi verificar a prevalência da síndrome de fragilidade e sua relação com a capacidade e o desempenho funcional em idosos frequentadores de grupos de convivência. O perfil de fragilidade foi determinado por meio dos critérios perda de peso não intencional; exaustão; baixa velocidade de marcha; baixa força de preensão manual e baixo consumo calórico. A capacidade funcional foi avaliada pelo Timed Up and Go (TUG) e o desempenho funcional, pelo índice de Lawton. O perfil de fragilidade foi apresentado em frequências e a associação foi analisada pelo teste de correlação de Spearman (α = 5%). Participaram 117 idosos (70,1 ± 7,3 anos). A maioria foi classificada como pré-frágil (51,3%). A média do TUG para os não-frágeis (NF) foi 11,3 s (± 1,9), pré-frágeis (PF) 12,7 s (± 3,4) e frágeis (FF) 16,7 s (± 3,3). O escore médio do Lawton em NF foi 29,8 (± 0,6), PF 28,4 (± 3,3) e FF 27,4 (± 2,8). Houve associação das classes de fragilidade com a capacidade e o desempenho funcional (p= 0,001). Houve maior prevalência de idosos pré-frágeis na amostra pesquisada, e idosos frágeis e pré-frágeis apresentaram piores desempenhos nos testes funcionais. Esses resultados reforçam o pressuposto de que a fragilidade compromete a funcionalidade em idosos.

The aim was to evaluate the correlation between the frailty phenotype and capacity and functional performance in elders attending conviviality groups. The frailty phenotype was identified with the weight loss; decrease of gait speed; decrease of physical activity; decrease of manual force and exhaustion. The functional capacity was measured by Timed Up and Go (TUG) and functional performance by the Lawton index. The frailty profile was presented in frequencies and the association was assessed by Spearman correlation test (α = 5%). A hundred and seventeen elders participated of this study (70±7.3 yrs). Most participants were classified as pre-frail (51.3%). The mean of the TUG of not frail (NF) was 11.3 s (± 1.9), pre-frail (PF) was 12.7 s (± 3.4) and frail (FF) was 16.7 s (± 3.3). The mean score of Lawton index of NF was 29.8 (± 0.6), PF 28.4 (± 3.3) and FF 27.4 (± 2.8). The frailty phenotype was correlated with functional capacity and performance (TUG, p=0.001). Most participants of the activity groups were pre-frail, and the frail and pre-frail elders had the worst functional performance. This result confirms that the frailty syndrome compromises the functional capacity in the elderly.
