Nutritional plans and ambient temperature on the growth curves of Japanese quails

RESUMO: Objetivou-se estimar o crescimento corporal, carcaça, cortes nobres, vísceras comestíveis e penas de codornas japonesas criadas em dois ambientes térmicos e alimentadas com três planos nutricionais de um a 39 dias. Foram utilizadas 576 pintainhas (Coturnix japônica), fêmeas, com um dia de idade, com peso médio inicial 7,51 ± 0,75g/ave, distribuídas em delineamento inteiramente casualizado em esquema fatorial 3 × 2 (três planos nutricionais x duas temperaturas), alojadas em duas câmaras climáticas de 25º e 35 ºC, com 12 repetições e oito aves por unidade experimental. Os planos nutricionais foram: plano nutricional um (PN1) - uma dieta de 1-21 dias e uma dieta de 22-39 dias; plano nutricional dois (PN2) - uma dieta de 1-14 dias e uma dieta de 15-39 dias; e plano nutricional três (PN3) - dieta única de 1-39 dias. Foram avaliadas as curvas e taxas de crescimento corporal, carcaça, cortes nobres, penas e vísceras comestíveis, através do modelo matemático de Gompertz. Codornas alimentadas com PN3 apresentaram maiores curvas e taxas de crescimento corporal, de carcaça, coxa + sobrecoxa e penas. Houve efeito para taxa de maturidade, sendo inferior para codornas alojadas em 35 ºC. Nas aves mantidas em 25 ºC, observou-se maior taxa de crescimento e peso de peito nas codornas alimentadas com PN3. O plano nutricional composto por uma única dieta ofertada durante o período de um a 39 dias, formulado com base nas recomendações das tabelas para codornas japonesas e europeias, é o mais indicado para estimar curvas de crescimento no modelo de Gompertz de codornas japonesas alojadas em 25 ºC ou 35 ºC. ABSTRACT: This study estimated the growth of body, carcass, primal cuts, edible offal, and feathers of Japanese quail reared in two thermal environments, receiving three nutritional plans, from one to 39 days of age. A total of 576 one-day-old female chicks (Coturnix japonica) with an average initial weight of 7.51±0.75g/bird were evaluated in a completely randomized design with a 3 × 2 factorial arrangement (three nutritional plans × two temperatures). The animals were housed in two climatic chambers, at 25 ºC and 35 ºC, using 12 replications with eight birds per experimental unit. Nutritional plans (NP) were as follows: NP1: one diet from 1-21days and another from 22-39 days; NP2: one diet from 1-14 days and another from 15-39 days; and NP3: a single diet from 1-39 days. The growth curves and growth rates of body, carcass, primal cuts, feathers, and edible offal were evaluated using the Gompertz mathematical model. Quail fed NP3 showed higher growth curves and rates for body, carcass, drumstick +thigh, and feather. There was an effect on maturity rate, which was lowest in quail housed at 35 ºC. Among the animals kept at 25 ºC, the group fed NP3 exhibited the highest growth rate and breast weight. The nutritional plan consisting of a single diet offered from 1 to 39 days, formulated based on the tables for Japanese and European quail, is the most suitable for estimating the growth curves (Gompertz model) of Japanese quail housed at 25 ºC or 35 ºC. ABSTRACT In 2000, Cleide Costa published a paper presenting the state of knowledge of the Neotropical Coleopte ra, with a focus on the Brazilian fauna. Twenty-four years later, thanks to the development of the Coleoptera section of the Taxonomic Catalog of the Brazilian Fauna (CTFB - Catálogo Taxonômico da Fauna do Brasil) through the collaboration of 100 coleopterists from all over the globe, we can build on Costa’s work and present an updated overview of the state of knowledge of the beetles from Brazil. There are currently 35,699 species in 4,958 genera and 116 families known to occur in the country, including representatives of all extant suborders and superfamilies. Our data show that the Brazilian beetle fauna is the richest on the planet, concentrating 9% of the world species diversity, with some estimates accounting to up to 15% of the global total. The most diverse family in numbers of genera is Cerambycidae (1,056 genera), while in number of species it is Chrysomelidae (6,079 species). Conotrachelus Dejean, 1835 (Curculionidae) is the most species-rich genus, with 570 species. The French entomologist Maurice Pic is the author who has contributed the most to the naming of species recorded from Brazil, with 1,794 valid names in 36 families, whereas the Brazilians Ubirajara R. Martins and Maria Helena M. Galileo are the only ones among the top-ten authors to have named species in the 21st century. ABSTRACT The limited temporal completeness and taxonomic accuracy of species lists, made available in a traditional manner in scientific publications, has always represented a problem. These lists are invariably limited to a few taxonomic groups and do not represent up-to-date knowledge of all species and classifications. In this context, the Brazilian megadiverse fauna is no exception, and the Catálogo Taxonômico da Fauna do Brasil (CTFB) (http://fauna.jbrj.gov.br/), made public in 2015, represents a database on biodiversity anchored on a list of valid and expertly recognized scientific names of animals in Brazil. The CTFB is updated in near real time by a team of more than 800 specialists. By January 1, 2024, the CTFB compiled 133,691 nominal species, with 125,138 that were considered valid. Most of the valid species were arthropods (82.3%, with more than 102,000 species) and chordates (7.69%, with over 11,000 species). These taxa were followed by a cluster composed of Mollusca (3,567 species), Platyhelminthes (2,292 species), Annelida (1,833 species), and Nematoda (1,447 species). All remaining groups had less than 1,000 species reported in Brazil, with Cnidaria (831 species), Porifera (628 species), Rotifera (606 species), and Bryozoa (520 species) representing those with more than 500 species. Analysis of the CTFB database can facilitate and direct efforts towards the discovery of new species in Brazil, but it is also fundamental in providing the best available list of valid nominal species to users, including those in science, health, conservation efforts, and any initiative involving animals. Resumo Antecedentes Migrânea afeta um bilhão de pessoas em todo o mundo e mais de 30 milhões de brasileiros; além disso, é um distúrbio subdiagnosticado e subtratado. Objetivo Sabe-se sobre a necessidade de difundir o conhecimento sobre o tratamento profilático da migrânea; por isso, a Sociedade Brasileira de Cefaleias (SBCe) nomeou um comitê de autores com o objetivo de estabelecer um consenso com recomendações sobre o tratamento profilático da migrânea episódica com base em artigos da literatura mundial, assim como da experiência pessoal. Métodos As reuniões foram realizadas inteiramente online, com a participação de 12 grupos que revisaram e escreveram sobre as categorias farmacológicas dos medicamentos e, ao final, reuniram-se para a leitura e conclusão do documento. As classes de medicamentos estudadas na parte II deste Consenso foram: anti-hipertensivos, inibidores seletivos de recaptação de serotonina, inibidores de recaptação de serotonina e noradrenalina, bloqueadores dos canais de cálcio, outros medicamentos e politerapia racional. Resultados Desta lista de medicamentos, apenas o candesartan foi estabelecido como eficaz no controle da migrânea episódica. Flunarizina, venlafaxina, duloxetina e pizotifeno foram definidos como provavelmente eficazes, enquanto lisinopril, enalapril, escitalopram, fluvoxamina, quetiapina, atorvastatina, sinvastatina, ciproheptadina e melatonina foram possivelmente eficazes na profilaxia da doença. Abstract Background Migraine affects 1 billion people worldwide and > 30 million Brazilians; besides, it is an underdiagnosed and undertreated disorder. Objective The need to disseminate knowledge about the prophylactic treatment of migraine is known, so the Brazilian Headache Society (SBCe, in the Portuguese acronym) appointed a committee of authors with the objective of establishing a consensus with recommendations on the prophylactic treatment of episodic migraine based on articles from the world literature as well as from personal experience. Methods Meetings were held entirely online, with the participation of 12 groups that reviewed and wrote about the pharmacological categories of drugs and, at the end, met to read and finish the document. The drug classes studied in part II of this Consensus were: antihypertensives, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors, calcium channel blockers, other drugs, and rational polytherapy. Results From this list of drugs, only candesartan has been established as effective in controlling episodic migraine. Flunarizine, venlafaxine, duloxetine, and pizotifen were defined as likely to be effective, while lisinopril, enalapril, escitalopram, fluvoxamine, quetiapine, atorvastatin, simvastatin, cyproheptadine, and melatonin were possibly effective in prophylaxis of the disease. Resumo A Sociedade Brasileira de Cefaleia (SBCe) nomeou um Comitê de Autores com o objetivo de estabelecer um consenso com recomendações sobre o tratamento profilático da enxaqueca episódica com base em artigos da literatura mundial e da experiência pessoal. A enxaqueca é um distúrbio subdiagnosticado e subtratado que acomete um bilhão de pessoas no mundo e mais de 30 milhões de brasileiros. É conhecido na comunidade médica de neurologistas e, sobretudo, dos especialistas em cefaleia, a necessidade de se divulgar o conhecimento sobre o tratamento profilático da enxaqueca. Com esta finalidade, aliada às necessidades de atualizações de drogas e de se aumentar o conhecimento sobre a doença em si (frequência, intensidade, duração, impacto e talvez a progressão da enxaqueca), foi elaborado este Consenso, com metodologia totalmente on-line, por 12 grupos que revisaram e escreveram sobre as categorias farmacológicas das drogas e, ao final, reuniram-se para a leitura e conclusão do documento. As classes de drogas estudadas para este Consenso foram: anticonvulsivantes, antidepressivos tricíclicos, anticorpos monoclonais do antipeptídeo relacionado ao gene da calcitonina (peptídeo relacionado ao gene da calcitonina — anti-CGRP), betabloqueadores, anti-hipertensivos, inibidores dos canais de cálcio, outros antidepressivos (inibidores seletivos de recaptação de serotonina, ISRSs, e antidepressivos de ação dual), outras drogas, e politerapia. Migraine affects 1 billion people around the world and more than 30 million Brazilians. In addition, it is an underdiagnosed and undertreated disorder. It is well known within the medical community of neurologists, and especially among headache specialists, that there is a need to disseminate knowledge about prophylactic treatment for migraine. For this purpose, together with the need for drug updates and to expand knowledge of the disease itself (frequency, intensity, duration, impact and perhaps the progression of migraine), this Consensus was developed, following a full online methodology, by 12 groups who reviewed and wrote about the pharmacological categories of the drugs used and, at the end of the process, met to read and establish conclusions for this document. The drug classes studied were: anticonvulsants, tricyclic antidepressants, monoclonal anti-calcitonin gene-related peptide (anti-CGRP) antibodies, beta-blockers, antihypertensives, calcium channel inhibitors, other antidepressants (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, SSRIs, and dual-action antidepressants), other drugs, and polytherapy. Abstract In this study we demonstrated the inactivation of E. coli, C. difficile, meshophilic bacteria and Salmonella spp. through Pulsed Electric Field (PEF) technology. First, a simulation using Finite Element Method Magnetics Mathematical Modeling was used to obtain the electric field values to be used in the electro-pasteurization tunnel. Then, practical tests were carried out by using an industrial scale apparatus set with the following parameters: pulse 20 s – 40 s, 40, 80 and 450 kV, radio frequency of 350 kHz and treadmill speed at 10 m/min. The results from practical tests shows a complete elimination of all microrganisms, thus proving that PEF technology significantly contributes to food safety and can be used on an industrial scale.

RESUMO Considera-se que a vegetação ripária desempenha papel importante na retenção de sedimentos e, portanto, na diminuição da produção de sedimentos em bacias hidrográficas. A Lei Florestal (Lei 12.651/2012) determina a manutenção da vegetação ripária em faixas de largura fixa, mas permite a continuidade das atividades agrossilvipastoris em parte das Áreas de Preservação Permanente (APPs). Buscou-se, por meio deste estudo, avaliar a redução da produção de sedimentos pela recuperação da vegetação das APPs em 5, 8, 15 e 30 m, larguras admitidas pela Lei Florestal, considerando três cenários de uso do solo, que apresentam diferentes taxas de erosão: predomínio de áreas de floresta, pastagem e agricultura. O modelo SWAT (Soil and Water Assessment Tool) foi utilizado para simular a produção de sedimentos nesses cenários na bacia hidrográfica do rio Jundiaí-Mirim, localizada no estado de São Paulo, Brasil. O SWAT foi calibrado e validado para a vazão em escala mensal, obtendo-se os seguintes índices estatísticos: NS = 0,77 e 0,70, PBIAS = -10,2 e -12,5, RSR = 0,48 e 0,55 nos processos de calibração e validação, respectivamente. O maior valor de redução da produção sedimentos gerados (30%) foi observado com a recuperação total das APPs (30 m) no uso atual da bacia. Recuperando-se as APPs em 5, 8 e 15 m, a redução da produção de sedimentos ficou abaixo de 10%, nos cenários alternativos. As faixas reduzidas de APPs recuperadas mantêm alta a produção de sedimentos. E, ainda, mesmo com a recuperação total das APPs é necessário adotar práticas de conservação do solo em toda a área agrícola da bacia, a fim de minimizar os impactos nos cursos hídricos.
ABSTRACT Riparian vegetation plays an important role in sediment retention, thus reduces sediment yield in watersheds. This paper aimed to evaluate sediment reduction by recovering the APPs with vegetation strips of permitted widths (5, 8, 15, and 30 m), as per the Forest Law. We considered three land use scenarios that present distinct erosion rates - predominance of areas with forest cover, pasture, and agriculture. The Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model was used to simulate sediment yield in these scenarios at the Jundiaí-Mirim Watershed in São Paulo, Brazil. The SWAT was calibrated and validated for monthly streamflow. We obtained statistical indices for the processes of calibration and validation, respectively, as: NS = 0.77 and 0.70, PBIAS = -10.2 and -12.5, and RSR = 0.48 and 0.55. The highest reduction in sediment yield (30%) was observed with the total recovery of the APPs (vegetation strips of 30 m) in the current land use scenario. The recovery of the APPs with vegetation strips of 5, 8, and 15 m yielded sediment reduction below 10% in the alternative land use scenarios. The APP strips with reduced recovery maintained high rates of sediment yield. Additionally, even with a total recovery of the APP it is necessary to adopt soil conservation practices throughout the basin’s agricultural area to minimize the impacts on water resources.

Phenology, thermal requirements and maturation of the SR 0.501-17 white wine grape hybrid cultivated in contrasting climatic conditions

ABSTRACT The SR 0.501-17 grape hybrid developed for wine making purposes, is characterized for producing white grapes and small berries with seeds. The purpose of this study was to characterize the phenology, thermal requirements and must physicochemical characteristics of the hybrid, in contrasting climatic conditions due to altitude at Jundiaí (715m) and Votuporanga (483m) respectively located at east and northwest of the São Paulo State-Brazil. Evaluations were performed from 2012 to 2016 and observations during the vine growth period and data of phenology and must soluble solids content and acidity measurements at harvest were taken. Average duration of the pruning-harvest period was 146 and 131 days and grape maturation period was 29 and 27 days, respectively for Jundiaí and Votuporanga. Thermal requirement expressed in degree days for the hybrid growth cycle was 1663 and 1923, respectively for Jundiaí and Votuporanga. Rainfall during the maturation period showed negative correlation with total soluble solids and maturation index and positive correlation with titratable acidity. The effect of temperature on vine growth cycle were more pronounced in Jundiaí in comparison to Votuporanga while the effect of rainfall on the maturation characteristics were more effective in Votuporanga when compared to Jundiaí.

RESUMO Introdução: A pandemia causada pelo novo coronavírus da síndrome respiratória aguda grave 2 (SARS-CoV-2, COVID-19) apresenta novos e importantes desafios à gestão de saúde no Brasil. Além da difícil missão de prestar atendimento aos milhares de pacientes infectados pelo COVID-19, os sistemas de saúde têm que manter a assistência às emergências médicas comuns em períodos sem pandemia, tais como o acidente vascular cerebral (AVC), que continuam ocorrendo e requerem tratamento com presteza e eficiência. A alocação de recursos materiais e humanos para o enfrentamento à pandemia não pode comprometer o atendimento ao AVC agudo, uma emergência cujo tratamento é tempo-dependente e se não realizado implica em importante impacto na mortalidade e incapacitação a longo prazo. Objetivo: Este trabalho resume as recomendações do Departamento Científico de Doenças Cerebrovasculares da Academia Brasileira de Neurologia, da Sociedade Brasileira de Doenças Cerebrovasculares e da Sociedade Brasileira de Neurorradiologia para o tratamento do AVC agudo e para a realização de procedimentos de neurointervenção urgentes durante a pandemia de COVID-19, incluindo o uso adequado de ferramentas de triagem e equipamentos de proteção pessoal (para pacientes e profissionais de saúde), além da alocação apropriada de pacientes.
ABSTRACT Introduction: Although the 2019 severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infection (SARS-CoV-2, COVID-19) pandemic poses new challenges to the healthcare system to provide support for thousands of patients, there is special concern about common medical emergencies, such as stroke, that will continue to occur and will require adequate treatment. The allocation of both material and human resources to fight the pandemic cannot overshadow the care for acute stroke, a time-sensitive emergency that with an inefficient treatment will further increase mortality and long-term disability. Objective: This paper summarizes the recommendations from the Scientific Department on Cerebrovascular Diseases of the Brazilian Academy of Neurology, the Brazilian Society of Cerebrovascular Diseases and the Brazilian Society of Neuroradiology for management of acute stroke and urgent neuro-interventional procedures during the COVID-19 pandemic, including proper use of screening tools, personal protective equipment (for patients and health professionals), and patient allocation.

Doenças fúngicas em videiras cultivadas a céu aberto e sob cobertura impermeável

RESUMO A utilização de cultivo protegido em videiras tem aumentado visando diminuir a ocorrência de doenças fúngicas. Assim, realizou-se um experimento com as cultivares Isabel, Isabel Precoce, Bordô e Concord produzidas em safra sequenciais de verão e de inverno, manejadas a céu aberto e sob cobertura de plástico impermeável sem aplicação de fungicidas. Objetivou-se avaliar a severidade das principais doenças fúngicas (míldio, antracnose, mancha-das-folhas e ferrugem) e na desfolha nestas condições. O uso de cobertura plástica, tanto na safra de verão quanto na de inverno, diminui a severidade das principais doenças fúngicas nas cultivares avaliadas e desfolha das videiras. A cultivar Bordô mostrou maior tolerância às doenças fúngicas em relação às outras cultivares. Valores obtidos de produtividade das videiras manejadas sob cultivo protegido foram mais elevados quando comparados ao céu aberto.
ABSTRACT The use of protected cultivation in grapevines has increased with the aim of reducing the occurrence of fungal diseases. Therefore, an experiment was carried out with the cultivars ‘Isabel’, ‘Isabel Precoce’, ‘Bordô’ and ‘Concord’ produced in sequential summer and winter crop seasons and managed in open field and under waterproof plastic cover, without fungicide application. The aim of this study was to verify the severity of the major fungal diseases (downy mildew, anthracnose, leaf spot and grape vine rust) and defoliation under those conditions. The use of plastic cover, during both the summer and the winter crop seasons, reduces the severity of the main fungal diseases and defoliation for the evaluated grapevine cultivars. ‘Bordô’ showed higher tolerance to fungal diseases when compared to the other cultivars. Yield values for vines managed under protected cultivation were higher than those found for vines grown in open field.

Abstract Purpose To evaluate the use of demineralized bone matrix of caprine origin in experimental bone defects of the tibia in New Zealand rabbits. Methods Fragments of the tibia diaphysis were collected aseptically from clinically healthy goats. The bones were sectioned into 1 cm fragments and stored at -20°C for subsequent hydrochloric acid (HCL) demineralization. A 70 mg portion of DBMc was used to fill the experimental bone defects. Twenty-four female adult New Zealand rabbits were divided into 2 groups: the MG (matrix group, left tibia) and CG (control group, right tibia). Additionally, they were separated into 4 groups with 6 animals, according to the period of analysis (15, 30, 60 and 90 days postoperatively). Using microCT, volumetric parameters were evaluated: bone volume, relationship between bone volume and total volume, bone surface area, relationship between bone surface area and total volume, number of trabeculae, trabecular thickness and trabecular separation. Results There was a statistically significant difference (P<0.05) between groups considering bone volume (BV) and bone:total volume (BV/TV), on 15, 30 and 90 days postoperatively. Control group showed a statistically significant superiority (P < 0.05) considering the mean of the variables bone surface (BS), number of trabeculae (Tb.N) and between bone surface and total volume (BS/TV) at 15 and 90 days. Conclusions Caprine demineralized bone matrix was safe and tolerable. No signs of material rejection were seen macroscopically. It is an alternative for the treatment of bone defects when autologous graft is not available or in insufficient quantities.

ASBTRACT Peach as commercial crop in Brazil is usually grown in open vase training system. However, in the 1970s large orchards changed to the Y-shaped system and higher density of plants. This system is the most used in São Paulo state because it allows orchard densification. However, the longevity of the trees is reduced from 15 to 8 years being the excessive exposure of internal branches to solar radiation the main reason for the reduction. Aiming to offer new alternatives of training system for peach, an experiment was carried out to evaluate the fruiting wall in comparison to Y-shaped, using the cultivar Tropic Beauty budded onto cultivar Okinawa. Ten plants by treatment were used as repetition and microclimatic equipment was installed inside the plant to measure temperature and solar radiation. Values of soluble solids (°Brix) were 9.64 to fruiting wall and 9.59 to Y-shaped, not statistically different. However most of fruit physicochemical characteristics were favorable to the fruiting wall system: fruit weight (g) – 97.56 and 90.44; pulp yield (g) – 92.42 and 85.70; pulp firmness (Kg∙cm–2) – 4.27 and 3.50; titratable acidity (g citric ac.∙100 ml–1) – 0.76 and 0.71; and ratio – 12.79 and 13.58, respectively to fruiting wall and Y-shaped. Solar radiation transmission and maximum daily temperature values for the Y-shaped were higher when compared to fruiting wall at harvest. The obtained data show that the fruiting wall training system could be an alternative to Brazilian’s growers for producing superior fruit quality without yield reduction.

RESUMO O cultivar de uva IAC 138-22 ‘Máximo’, enxertado sobre IAC 766 ‘Campinas’ e IAC 572 ‘Jales’, sustentado em espaldeira, foi avaliado durante safras consecutivas de verão e de inverno, para se comparar diferentes manejos de dossel: desbrota (comparação entre um e dois ramos por esporão) e desponte (comparação de espaldeiras baixa e alta). Os resultados obtidos das características fitotécnicas e físico-químicas do mosto permitiram verificar que não houve diferença significativa entre os porta-enxertos utilizados, em relação à intensidade de desbrota e à altura da espaldeira. O maior efeito observado pelo manejo de dossel foi nos valores de produção, graças à desbrota, não tendo sido observado efeito nas características físico-químicas do mosto, na comparação dos diferentes tratamentos dentro da mesma safra. Em relação à altura da espaldeira, foram obtidos valores de teor de sólidos solúveis, na espaldeira alta, maiores do que com espaldeira baixa. Foram observados, durante a safra de inverno, valores inferiores de produção e superiores de teor de sólidos solúveis e de acidez titulável total, em relação aos da safra de verão.
ABSTRACT Grape cultivar IAC 138-22 'Máximo' grafted on IAC 766 ‘Campinas’ and IAC 572 ‘Jales’ rootstocks and trained in upright trellis was evaluated during consecutive summer and winter growing seasons for comparison different canopy management: a) branch thinning: comparison between one branch and two branches per spur and b) branch tipping: comparison between low and high upright trellis. The results obtained of the phytotechnical and physicochemical grape must characteristics allowed to confirm that there was no significant difference between rootstocks regarding branch thinning intensity and upright trellis height. The largest effect observed in canopy management was for yield values promoted by branch thinning. No effect was observed in the grape must physicochemical characteristics when the different treatments were compared in the same growing season. Regarding to the upright trellis height, larger values of soluble solids were obtained for the high trellis than in the low trellis. Winter growing season resulted in lower values of yield and greater values of total soluble solids and titratable acidity than in the summer growing season.

Resumo O crescimento das atividades do turismo rural tem levado os viticultores a utilizarem diferentes cultivares de uva para elaboração de vinho e/ou suco. Nesse sentido, objetivou-se avaliar as características fitotécnicas das videiras e físico-químicas do mosto das cultivares Bordô, Isabel Precoce, BRS Violeta, Isabel e Concord, em diferentes sistemas de sustentação: espaldeira; manjedoura na forma de Y e manjedoura na forma de V com cordão esporonado duplo. O delineamento experimental foi em blocos ao acaso para a comparação das cultivares, dentro de cada sistema de sustentação, e foi realizada análise dos componentes principais para as variáveis da produção. A cultivar BRS Violeta apresentou maior massa de cacho, independentemente do sistema de sustentação das videiras. A cultivar Bordô foi a menos produtiva e com menor teor de sólidos solúveis, em comparação com as outras cultivares. As cultivares Isabel e Isabel Precoce, nos sistemas de sustentação avaliados, apresentaram maior teor de sólidos solúveis. A análise de componentes principais permitiu verificar que os sistemas manjedoura na forma de Y e V com cordão esporonado duplo foram associados a maiores produtividades.
Abstract The increase of rural tourism activities has led growers to use different grape cultivars for the production of wine and/or juice. Thus, the aim of this study was to evaluate the phytotechnical characteristics of grapevines and physicochemical characteristics of grape must obtained for Bordô, Isabel Precoce, BRS Violeta, Isabel and Concord cultivars in different training systems: vertical shoot position; Y-shaped trellis and V-shaped trellis with double spur cordon. The experimental design was randomized blocks for comparison of cultivars within each training system and analysis of the main components for productivity variables was carried out. BRS Violeta cultivar showed higher bunch weight values regardless of training system. Bordô cultivar showed lower yield values and soluble solids content in comparison to other cultivars. Isabel and Isabel Precoce cultivars in the evaluated training systems showed higher soluble solids content. Principal component analysis allowed verifying that in Y-shaped trellis and V-shaped trellis with double spur cordon training systems, cultivars were related to higher yield.
