Resumen Antecedentes: Los mapas de bosques perturbados son útiles para identificar afectaciones sobre la biodiversidad y los servicios ecosistémicos. Los métodos que emplean únicamente datos espectrales para detectar las perturbaciones a nivel regional tienen limitaciones. El conocimiento de expertos y el análisis de fragmentación puede mejorar la estimación. Preguntas: ¿Cuál es la distribución de los bosques perturbados en una región de alta biodiversidad? ¿Qué tipos de vegetación y regiones son las más afectadas? Descripción de los datos: imágenes satelitales SPOT 2015, Sentinel-2 de 2019. Se colectó información de la vegetación en 653 sitios. Además, se usaron datos de herbario, censos agrícolas y del Inventario Nacional Forestal. Lugar y fecha del estudio: Estado de Chiapas, durante 2018-2022. Métodos: Se elaboró un mapa híbrido de los tipos de vegetación enfatizando la identificación de bosques secundarios, también se realizó un análisis de fragmentación y se calculó la biomasa leñosa por tipo de bosque. Resultados: El 40 % de la superficie del Estado mantiene una cobertura arbórea; pero solo en el 18 % no se aprecia perturbación; la mayor parte de los bosques no perturbados se encuentran en tres regiones: Selva Lacandona, Sierra Madre y Planicie del Golfo. En general la biomasa de los bosques perturbados es significativamente menor que la de su contraparte madura. Conclusiones: En Chiapas la distribución de los bosques en buen estado de conservación está restringida; casi la mitad de ellos se encuentran fuera de las ANP, por lo que es imperativo promover estrategias adicionales para su manejo y conservación.

Abstract Background: Maps of disturbed forests help to identify impacts on biodiversity and ecosystem services. Methods using only spectral data to detect disturbance at the regional level have limitations, but expert knowledge and fragmentation analysis can improve estimation. Questions: What is the distribution of disturbed forests in a region of high biodiversity, and which vegetation types and regions are most affected? Data description: SPOT 2015, Sentinel-2 satellite imagery from 2019. Vegetation data were collected at 653 sites. In addition, herbarium, agricultural census, and National Forest Inventory data were used. Study site and dates: Chiapas State, during 2018-2022. Methods: We elaborated a hybrid map of vegetation types, emphasizing identifying secondary forests. Also, we carried out a fragmentation analysis and calculated the woody biomass per forest type. Results: 40 % of the State still maintains tree cover, but only 18 % is undisturbed; most undisturbed forests are in three regions: Selva Lacandona, Sierra Madre, and Gulf Plain. Overall, the biomass of disturbed forests is significantly lower than that of their mature counterparts. Conclusions: In Chiapas, the distribution of forests with good conservation status is restricted; almost half of them are outside NPAs, so it is imperative to promote additional strategies for their conservation and management.

ABSTRACT The study is aimed at understanding to meet the inclusion needs of students with visual disability during the practice of futsal in Physical Education classes, to reduce their fear of sport, improve their self-esteem and raise awareness among the family and teaching staff in their radius of action and that they are accepted in each of their training sessions. The objective focuses on developing a methodology for teaching-learning of adapted futsal, for students with visual disability who, from an education inclusive guarantees a better quality of life; in this way, their performance is improved and their physical and mental well-being is promoted. During the research, documentary review, scientific observation and interviews were used as empirical methods, which allowed to gain in-depth knowledge of the background, current and prospective state of the problem, as well as to design the possible solution. The results obtained are oriented towards a transformation from the curricular adjustments of the psychological, social, communicative and physical needs of the students; thus, the methodology makes it clear how to work from the different contexts, the methodological recommendations and the requirements to take into account, based on the visual disability presented and the way of evaluating. Such efforts favor equality of opportunities and cooperation as social beings in the educational environment where he/she is developed.

RESUMEN El estudio está dirigido a la comprensión para atender las necesidades de inclusión de estudiantes con discapacidad visual durante la práctica del futsal en las clases de Educación Física, poder disminuir su miedo hacia el deporte, mejorar su autoestima y sensibilizar a la familia y al personal docente en su radio de acción y que sean aceptados en cada uno de sus entrenamientos. El objetivo se centra en elaborar una metodología para la enseñanza-aprendizaje del futsal adaptado, para estudiantes con discapacidad visual que desde una educación inclusiva garantice una mejor calidad de vida; de esta forma se mejora su rendimiento y se promueve su bienestar físico y mental. Durante la investigación se utilizaron como métodos empíricos la revisión documental, la observación científica y la entrevista que permitieron conocer a profundidad los antecedentes, el estado actual y prospectivo del problema, así como diseñar la posible solución. Los resultados obtenidos están orientados hacia una transformación desde los ajustes curriculares de las necesidades psicológicas, sociales, comunicativas y físicas de los estudiantes; así, la metodología deja claro cómo trabajar desde los diferentes contextos, las recomendaciones metodológicas y los requisitos a tener en cuenta, a partir de la discapacidad visual presentada y la manera de evaluar. Tal empeño favorece la igualdad de oportunidades y cooperación como seres sociales en el contorno educacional donde se desenvuelven.

RESUMEN Antecedentes: los manantiales son una buena opción como suministro de agua, ante esto, su explotación lleva a una disminución de las aguas subterráneas, afectando la cantidad y calidad del recurso. Objetivo: evaluar la calidad del agua de manantiales y determinar el índice de integridad biótica asociado a macroinvertebrados acuáticos, para evaluar el grado de conservación de los manantiales. Método: se evaluaron ocho manantiales en épocas de estiaje (mayo) y post lluvias (diciembre) a partir de un muestreo selectivo. De acuerdo a diversas Normas Mexicanas se determinaron algunos parámetros físico-químicos y bacteriológicos; simultáneamente se realizó la colecta de macroinvertebrados acuáticos. Posterior a esto, se determinó el índice de calidad del agua mediante tres métodos. Se realizaron análisis de correspondencia sin tendencia y, por último, se determinó el índice de integridad biótica asociado a macroinvertebrados acuáticos (IIBAMA). Resultados: los valores de los parámetros físico-químicos y bacteriológicos analizados indican contaminación mostrando valores más altos en la época de post lluvias. De acuerdo al IIBAMA, siete de ocho sitios (87.5 %) se valoran como impactados, al clasificarse en las categorías de “pobre y regular”, sólo el sitio Arroyo Guajolote está en la categoría de bueno (12.5 %). Conclusiones: Los manantiales de estudio se encuentran en cierta medida impactados debido a actividades antropogénicas relacionadas con el abastecimiento de agua para la población y actividades recreativas, esto compromete el buen funcionamiento del ecosistema y por consecuencia la calidad de los servicios ecosistémicos brindados.

ABSTRACT Background: springs are a good option for water supply, but their exploitation leads to a decrease in groundwater, affecting the quantity and quality of the resource. Aim: to evaluate the quality of spring water and determine the index of biotic integrity associated with aquatic macroinvertebrates to determine the degree of conservation of the springs. Methods: eight springs were evaluated during low water (May) and post rainfall (December) periods based on selective sampling. In accordance with various Mexican Standards, some physicochemical and bacteriological parameters were determined; simultaneously, aquatic macroinvertebrates were collected. Subsequently, the water quality index was determined using three methods. Correspondence analyses were performed without trend and finally, the index of biotic integrity associated with aquatic macroinvertebrates (IIBAMA) was determined. Results: the values of the physical-chemical and bacteriological parameters analyzed indicate contamination, showing higher values in the post-rainy season. According to IIBAMA, seven of eight sites (87.5 %) are rated as impacted, being classified in the “poor and fair” categories; only the Arroyo Guajolote site is in the “good” category (12.5 %). Conclusions: the springs studied are impacted due to anthropogenic activities related to water supply for the population and recreational activities, this compromises the proper functioning of the ecosystem and consequently the quality of ecosystem services provided.

Abstract Dairy production in Ecuador is a source of economic income for many small and medium producers, however the lack of technical advice leads to problems in the quality of milk, and affects their production volume. The purpose of this investigation was to conduct a pilot plan to improve the quality of milk produced by 57 small producers from different parishes of the cantons of Quito, Rumiñahui and San Miguel de los Bancos in the province of Pichincha, through a training plan in good milking practices and feeding strategies. Two initial samplings were carried out (between October and November 2021) prior to the training, and two final samplings (in June 2022) to measure the impact of the training. A total of 1.273 samples were collected, of these only 4.02 % (52/1273) (of the samples) complied with the reference values of the national regulations, while 95.98 % (1243/1273) did not comply with any of the evaluated parameters; however, the vast majority of the milk is suitable for human consumption, yet its nutritional quality needs to be improved. We were able to reduce considerably (although not statistically) the somatic cell count (SC, from an initial average of 623530 CS ml-1 to 365660 CS ml-1 after training, being correlated with the significant increase in the percentage of lactose between the initial and final sampling; there were also significant differences in the percentage of fat and total solids, although in these two cases their values decreased after training (fat from 2.58 % in the initial sampling to 2.10 % in the final sampling and total solids of 11, 44 % to 11.00 %);showed no significant differences between samples. It is concluded that the training was beneficial since the considerable decrease in the somatic cell count increased the volume of milk production of the small producers, and therefore their economic income. For the rest of the parameters, it is recommended to reinforce training in nutrition, feeding, pasture management, etc., in order to increase their values, as well as to maintain constant training programs for producers, supported by academia, private and public entities.

Resumen La producción láctea en Ecuador es una fuente de ingresos económicos para muchos pequeños y medianos productores; sin embargo, la falta de asesoría técnica conlleva a que tengan problemas en la calidad de la leche y se vea afectado su volumen de producción, por lo que la presente investigación tuvo como finalidad realizar un plan piloto para el mejoramiento de la calidad de leche producida por 57 pequeños productores de diferentes parroquias de los cantones Quito, Rumiñahui y San Miguel de los Bancos de la provincia de Pichincha, mediante un plan de capacitación en buenas prácticas de ordeño y estrategias de alimentación. Se realizaron 2 muestreos iniciales (entre octubre y noviembre de 2021), previo a la capacitación, y 2 muestreos finales (en junio de 2022) para medir el impacto de estas. Se recolectaron 1.273 muestras, donde solamente el 4,02 % (52/1.273) de las mismas, cumplen con los valores referenciales de la normativa nacional, mientras que el 95,98 % (1.243/1.273) no cumple con alguno de los parámetros evaluados; sin embargo, la gran mayoría de dicha leche sí es apta para el consumo humano, pero requiere ser mejorada en su calidad nutricional. Se logró disminuir considerablemente (aunque no estadísticamente) el conteo de células somáticas, de un promedio inicial de 623.530 CS ml-1 a 365.660 CS ml-1 luego de la capacitación, siendo correlacionado con el aumento significativo del porcentaje de lactosa entre el muestreo inicial y el final; también existió diferencias significativas en el porcentaje de grasa y sólidos totales, aunque en estos dos casos disminuyeron sus valores luego de la capacitación (grasa de 2,58 % en el muestreo inicial a 2,10 % en el final y sólidos totales de 11,44 % a 11,00 %). El resto de los parámetros no mostraron diferencias significativas entre los muestreos. Se concluye que la capacitación fue beneficiosa, pues la disminución considerable del conteo de células somáticas aumentó el volumen de producción de leche de los pequeños productores y, por ende, sus ingresos económicos. Para el resto de los parámetros se recomienda reforzar las capacitaciones de nutrición, alimentación, manejo de pasturas, etc., para incrementar sus valores, así como mantener constantes programas de capacitación a los productores, apoyados desde la academia, la empresa privada y entidades públicas.

The interviews were audio-recorded, subjected to thematic categorical analysis within the theoretical framework from the praxiographic perspective. They are all adapted to the use of daily oral and event-based PrEP. In relation to the new PrEP modalities (monthly pill; intramuscular injection every two months; subcutaneous injection every six months), they are all very receptive to these possibilities, but they lack information on the specificities of each and specific assessment of their needs. Comments about the use of oral PrEP are positive, and expectations regarding the new PrEP modalities are visibly high. However, the most important thing for the interviewees is the guarantee that they will have follow-up appointments to continue taking care of their affective-sexual health, which is not dependent on the type of PrEP modalities.

Resumen Este artículo tiene como objetivo discutir las concepciones de los Hombres Gay, Hombres Bisexuales y una Mujer Transgénero que usan o quieren usar profilaxis previa a la exposición por el virus de la inmunodeficiencia humana oral (PrEP) sobre nuevas vías de administración. Fueron entrevistados 17 usuarios del BCN Checkpoint. Las entrevistas fueron grabadas en audio, sometidas a análisis categorial temático teniendo en cuenta la perspectiva praxeográfica. Todos están adaptados al uso de la PrEP diaria y a demanda. En relación con las nuevas vías de administración (PrEP inyección intramuscular cada dos meses; pastilla mensual; inyección subcutánea cada seis meses) todos son muy receptivos a esas posibilidades, pero les falta información sobre las especificidades de cada una de ellas y una evaluación específica de sus necesidades. Tanto la satisfacción con el uso de PrEP oral, como las expectativas sobre las nuevas vías de administración son positivas. Sin embargo, lo más importante para los/a entrevistados/a es la garantía de que tendrán seguimiento para continuar cuidando de la salud afectivo-sexual, lo que no depende del tipo de vía de administración.

ABSTRACT "In Cuba, agriculture is responsible for 20% of Greenhouse Gas emissions, making it the second largest emitting sector. This research aims to estimate the Greenhouse Gas emissions in the Agriculture sector in the province of Cienfuegos in the period 2010-2020. The methodologies used were the Guidelines of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change of 2006. In 2020, the GHG emissions from the Agriculture sector in the province of Cienfuegos were 309.4 Gg CO2eq (representing a 28.9% decrease compared to 2010). Of these emissions, 60.3% corresponded to methane (CH4), 39.5% to nitrous oxide (N2O), and the remaining 0.1% to carbon dioxide (CO2). CH4 emissions amounted to 186.9 Gg CO2eq and mainly came from enteric fermentation of livestock, which contributed 169.0 Gg CO2eq (90.5% of the total). N2O emissions from the sector amounted to 116.9 Gg CO2eq and mainly came from activities related to agricultural soils, with direct livestock excreta in pastures being the subcategory that contributed the most N2O in the province with 81.3 Gg CO2eq, representing 69.6% of the total. Finally, CO2 emissions solely came from the application of urea. The emissions inventory of the Agriculture sector in the province of Cienfuegos is a valuable tool for making local-level decisions, prioritizing mitigation actions and measures in line with national goals, supporting development, as well as implementing and monitoring the impact of such actions."

RESUMEN En Cuba la agricultura es responsable del 20% de las emisiones de Gases de Efecto Invernadero, siendo el segundo sector más emisor. Esta investigación tiene como objetivo estimar las emisiones de Gases de Efecto Invernadero en el sector Agricultura en la provincia de Cienfuegos en el período 2010-2020. Se utilizaron como metodologías las Directrices del Panel Intergubernamental sobre Cambio Climático del 2006. En 2020, las emisiones de GEI del sector Agricultura en la provincia de Cienfuegos, fueron de 309.4 Gg CO2eq (representa un 28.9% menor que el año 2010). Del total de estas emisiones, el 60.3% correspondió al metano (CH4), el 39.5% al óxido nitroso (N2O) y el restante 0.1% al dióxido de carbono (CO2). Las emisiones de CH4 ascienden a 186.9 Gg CO2eq y provienen principalmente de la fermentación entérica del ganado, actividad que aporta 169.0 Gg CO2eq, (90.5% de las mismas). Las emisiones de N2O del sector ascienden a 116.9 Gg CO2eq y provienen principalmente de las actividades vinculadas a los suelos agrícolas, siendo las excretas directas del ganado en pasturas la subcategoría que más aporta N2O en la provincia con 81.3 Gg CO2eq y representa el 69.6% de ellas. Por último, las emisiones de CO2 provienen en su totalidad de la aplicación de urea. El inventario de emisiones del Sector Agricultura en la provincia de Cienfuegos constituye una herramienta valiosa para tomar decisiones a nivel local, priorizar acciones y medidas de mitigación acorde a las metas nacionales, apoyar el desarrollo, así como implementar y monitorear el impacto de dichas acciones.

Abstract Introduction: Thyroid surgery carries significant risks and complications such as recurrent laryngeal nerve paralysis and postoperative suffocating hematoma. The most recent advancement providing safety is intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) of the recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN) and the advances in hemostasis systems. Objective: The main objective of the study was to explore our experience regarding safety measures and the reduction of complications in thyroid surgery. Materials and Methods: We present a review of 400 neck surgeries performed by the same surgeon, from September 2011 to February 2020. The main variables studied were intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) of the recurrent laryngeal nerve and vascular sealing hemostasis systems. Results: Out of the total 400 patients, a total of 625 RLNs were studied, using IONM. Thirteen unilateral vocal cord paralyses were recorded, 8 of which were temporary and only 5 definitive. The predominant hemostasis system utilized was the vascular sealing system and bipolar clamp 87%, and in 13%, ligation of a thyroid artery. Only 1 patient experienced postoperative hemorrhage, which was resolved without incidents. Conclusions: Intermittent intraoperative neuromonitoring of the RLN and advances in hemostasis systems have proven to be valuable in thyroid surgery, improving safety and saving surgical time.

ABSTRACT Housing informality has reemerged in Chile’s major cities, with a dramatic increase on the number of families living in peripheral “campamentos” (informal settlements) over the last years. Using archival materials and interviews, in this article we analyze one of the main aspects of housing informality: self-construction. Unlike dominant literature on self-construction which put an emphasis on the objects that are produced through it, we aim to offer a perspective that seeks to understand the types of subjectivity and intersubjectivity that emerge through self-construction. We conclude that self-construction is not only a means to solve poor people’s housing needs, but also a mode of urban agency that fosters the emergence of two converging phenomena: on one hand, the appearance of political subjectivities among the working classes; and, on the other, the constitution of situated forms of intersubjective recognition among self-constructors.

RESUMEN En los últimos años, la informalidad habitacional ha resurgido en las principales ciudades de Chile, en cuyas periferias se ha incrementado considerablemente el número de familias residentes en campamentos (asentamientos irregulares). A partir del análisis de fuentes documentales y de entrevistas, en este artículo estudiamos uno de los aspectos más sobresalientes de la informalidad habitacional: la autoconstrucción. Frente al énfasis predominante de la literatura en los objetos producidos por la autoconstrucción, proponemos potenciar un enfoque que busca comprender las formas de subjetividad e intersubjetividad que emergen en el autoconstruir. Concluimos que la autoconstrucción no es solo un medio para resolver las necesidades habitacionales de los pobres, sino también un modo de agencia urbana que propicia la emergencia de dos fenómenos concurrentes: por un lado, la aparición de subjetividades políticas entre las clases populares; y, por otro, la constitución de formas situadas de reconocimiento intersubjetivo entre autoconstructores.

Abstract Undernutrition occurs when there is poor intake or assimilation of energy and nutrients. If undernutrition is established within the first years of life, the health consequences are devastating. Early treatment of undernutrition is critical to reduce these consequences and milk plays an important role in this treatment. Cow's milk is an excellent food due to the content and quality of its macro- and micronutrients. This has led to a steady increase in research and the use of milk in treating undernutrition since the beginning of the 20th century. In Chile, child undernutrition was practically eradicated between the decades of 1960 and 1980 due to the successful application of maternal and child public policies, within which the product Leche Purita was fundamental. However, the history of milk as part of nutritional policies in Chile began much earlier. Commemorating fifty years since the introduction of Leche Purita, we aim to summarize the historical importance of milk in Chile's nutritional policies. We emphasize Leche Purita's role in eradicating child undernutrition and reducing anemia among children.

Resumen La desnutrición ocurre cuando hay una ingesta o asimilación deficiente de la energía y los nutrientes. Si esta se produce dentro de los primeros años de vida, las consecuencias para la salud son devastadoras. El tratamiento temprano de la desnutrición es clave para reducir estas consecuencias y en este proceso la leche tiene una participación destacada. La leche es un excelente alimento debido al contenido y calidad de sus macro- y micronutrientes, lo que ha llevado a que la investigación y el uso de la leche en el tratamiento de la desnutrición hayan aumentado sostenidamente desde comienzos del siglo XX. En Chile, la desnutrición infantil fue prácticamente erradicada entre los años 1960 y 1980 debido a la aplicación exitosa de una serie de políticas públicas materno-infantiles, dentro de las cuales la Leche Purita fue fundamental. Sin embargo, la historia de la leche como parte de las políticas nutricionales en Chile comenzó mucho antes. Conmemorando los cincuenta años desde el nacimiento de Leche Purita, el objetivo de este trabajo es realizar un breve repaso acerca de la importancia histórica de la leche en las políticas nutricionales en Chile, enfatizando la contribución realizada por la Leche Purita a la erradicación de la desnutrición infantil y a la disminución de la anemia en niños.

The transplant rate in Chile is low compared to other countries. Although significant advances have been made to increase this number, there is little clarity regarding safety protocols for organ procurement teams. Internationally, various tragedies have marked this work, the most famous being the one that occurred in Michigan, where a medical team lost their lives when they crashed into a lake during transport for a lung transplant. Years after the tragedy, repeated complaints by medical personnel came to light concerning the lack of safety during transfers. Although organ procurement inherently carries associated risks, these should be kept to a minimum. In 2020, a safety guide was created to make progress with participation from the most crucial transplant organizations in the United States. Recommendations were issued regulating air and ground transportation, insurance, and the future of transplant activity. In Chile, technical guidelines that regulate procurement need to specify crucial safety metrics, and there is no publicly available information or recommendations, leaving safety to the discretion of local institutions. While it is essential to recognize the national effort to improve the number of transplants year after year, it is necessary to advance in improving the safety of procurement teams and not wait for a tragedy to occur to generate the required changes, particularly in a country with challenging geography like Chile.

Resumen Las tasa de trasplantes en Chile es baja en comparación con otros países. Si bien se han hecho importantes avances para aumentar este número, existe poca claridad en cuanto a protocolos de seguridad de los equipos de procuramiento de órganos. A nivel internacional existen diferentes tragedias que han marcado este trabajo, la más conocida es la ocurrida en Michigan, donde un equipo médico perdió la vida al caer sobre el lago en un transporte por un trasplante de pulmón. Años después de la tragedia se conocieron los reiterados reclamos por parte del personal médico en relación a la falta de seguridad durante los traslados. Si bien el procuramiento de órganos tiene un riesgo asociado inherente, este se debe mantener al mínimo. Para avanzar en esto se confeccionó una guía de seguridad donde participaron las organizaciones de trasplante más importantes de Estados Unidos. Se emitieron recomendaciones, donde se regula el transporte aéreo, terrestre, seguros y el futuro de esta actividad. En Chile la orientación técnica que regula el procuramiento, no especifica ninguno de estos puntos y no existe información pública disponible, dejando la seguridad a disposición de las instituciones locales. Si bien es importante reconocer el esfuerzo nacional por mejorar el número de trasplantes año a año, es necesario avanzar en mejorar la seguridad de los equipos de procuramiento, y no esperar que ocurra una tragedia, para generar cambios necesarios, particularmente en un país con una geografía desafiante como Chile.

ABSTRACT Objective: To determine the standard surgical times of the four most common general surgery procedures (unilateral inguinal hernioplasty, bilateral inguinal hernioplasty, umbilical hernioplasty and cholecystectomy) in a second-level hospital and to estimate the probability of extending the time of each of the procedures. Efficiency is a widely studied subject in economics. It involves the need for fewer elements in the production of a certain level of goods and services. Therefore, it is extremely important to consider it in the field of surgery. Materials and methods: An observational, descriptive and retrospective study. It used the operating room records from 2017 to 2019 of the General Surgery service in a second-level hospital. Based on this information, the time required for each procedure was standardized using the mean for each one (umbilical hernioplasty, unilateral or bilateral inguinal hernioplasty and cholecystectomy). The probability of extending surgical times was estimated based on the obtained data and confidence interval. Results: The mean for unilateral inguinal hernioplasty was 76 min (95.00 % CI: 72-80 min, SD 23), for bilateral inguinal hernioplasty 104.38 min (95.00 % CI: 91-116 min, SD 41.7), for umbilical hernioplasty 59.31 min (95.00 % CI: 54-63 min, SD 29.99) and for cholecystectomy 85.735 min (95.00 % CI: 83-88 min). The probability of scheduling three surgical interventions and completing all of them on time (upper limit of the CI) is 92.69 %, and the probability of scheduling three surgical interventions and extending the time of all of them is 0.0016 % (lower limit of the CI). Conclusions: Planning scheduled operations using standardized surgical times is feasible. Updated statistics on surgical procedures (average time for each procedure) are required since it is possible to more accurately detect and supervise operating room dynamics by identifying opportunity areas. This will make operating room time more efficient for the benefit of health care systems and patients.

RESUMEN Objetivo: Determinar los tiempos quirúrgicos estándar de los cuatro procedimientos más comunes en cirugía general (hernioplastia inguinal unilateral, hernioplastia inguinal bilateral, hernioplastia umbilical y colecistectomía) de un hospital de segundo nivel y calcular la probabilidad de extensión de cada uno de los procedimientos. La eficiencia es un fenómeno ampliamente estudiado en el ámbito económico, pues hace referencia a la necesidad de menor cantidad de factores para la producción de un determinado nivel de bienes y servicios, por ello, es de vital importancia incluirlo en el ámbito quirúrgico. Materiales y métodos: Estudio observacional, descriptivo y retrospectivo. Se utilizaron los registros de quirófano de un hospital de segundo nivel del año 2017 al 2019 del servicio de Cirugía General. A partir de esta información, se estandarizó el tiempo necesario para cada procedimiento mediante la media de cada uno (hernioplastia umbilical, hernioplastia inguinal unilateral o bilateral y colecistectomía). Se calculó la probabilidad de extensión de las cirugías tomando en consideración los datos obtenidos y el intervalo de confianza. Resultados: Para el procedimiento de hernioplastia inguinal unilateral se obtuvo una media de 76 min (IC 95,00 %: 72-80 min, DE 23); en hernioplastia inguinal bilateral, una media de 104,38 min (IC 95,00 %: 91-116 min, DE 41,7); en hernioplastia umbilical, una media de 59,31 min (IC 95,00 %: 54-63 min, DE 29,9), y en colecistectomía, una media de 85,735 min (IC 95,00 %: 83-88 min). La probabilidad de que se programen tres cirugías y todas estén a tiempo (límite superior del IC) es de 92,69 %, la probabilidad de que se programen tres cirugías y todas se prolonguen es de 0,0016 % (límite inferior del IC). Conclusiones: Es posible realizar la planeación de las cirugías programadas mediante el uso de tiempos quirúrgicos estandarizados. Se requiere contar con estadística actualizada de los procedimientos quirúrgicos (promedios del tiempo de realización de cada procedimiento), ya que es posible detectar y supervisar de manera más precisa la dinámica de quirófano mediante la detección de las áreas de oportunidad, de esta manera, se eficientizará el tiempo de quirófano para beneficio de los sistemas de salud y los pacientes.

Abstract X The main purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between anxiety and the coping strategies employed by persons deprived of liberty (PPL) in the EPMSC Establecimiento de Reclusión Especial Barranquilla-Cárcel del Bosque. For this purpose, a quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional and correlational research route was followed. The sample consisted of 98 PPL, aged between 19 and 73 years, who were administered the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale and the Modified Coping Strategies Scale of Coping Modified. The results indicate moderate levels of anxiety, with younger PPL (19-27 years old) showing higher levels of psychological anxiety; people over 50 years old tend more to seek solutions to problems. It is concluded that the higher the level of anxiety, the greater the relationship with the coping strategy aggressive reaction.

Resumo O principal objetivo deste estudo foi determinar a relação entre ansiedade e estratégias de enfrentamento usadas por pessoas privadas de liberdade (PPL) no EPMSC Establecimiento de Reclusión Especial Barranquilla-Cárcel del Bosque. Para isso, foi seguido um roteiro de pesquisa quantitativo, não experimental, transversal e correlacional. A amostra consistiu em 98 PPL, com idades entre 19 e 73 anos, que receberam a Escala de Avaliação de Ansiedade de Hamilton e a Escala de Estratégias de Enfrentamento Modificada de Enfrentamento Modificada. Os resultados indicam níveis moderados de ansiedade, sendo que as PPL mais jovens (19 a 27 anos) apresentam níveis mais altos de ansiedade psicológica; as pessoas com mais de 50 anos tendem a buscar mais soluções para os problemas. Conclui-se que quanto maior o nível de ansiedade, maior a relação com a estratégia de enfrentamento reação agressiva.

Resumen El presente estudio tuvo como propósito principal determinar la relación entre la ansiedad y las estrategias de afrontamiento empleadas por personas privadas de la libertad (PPL) en el EPMSC Establecimiento de Reclusión Especial Barranquilla-Cárcel del Bosque. Para ello se siguió una ruta de investigación cuantitativa, de diseño no experimental, transversal y de alcance correlacional. La muestra estuvo conformada por 98 PPL, en edades entre 19 y 73 años, a quienes se aplicaron los instrumentos Escala de Valoración de la Ansiedad de Hamilton y Escala de Estrategias de Afrontamiento de Coping Modificada. Los resultados señalan niveles moderados de ansiedad, siendo los PPL más jóvenes (19-27 años) los que presentan mayor ansiedad psíquica; las personas mayores de 50 años tienden más a buscar solución a los problemas. Se concluye que a mayores niveles de ansiedad mayor relación con la estrategia de afrontamiento reacción agresiva.

ABSTRACT Objective. To identify the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in wastewater from hospitals in Peru. Materials and methods. Water samples were collected from the effluents of nine hospitals in Peru during March and September 2022. SARS-CoV-2 was identified by using Illumina sequencing. Variant, lineage and clade assignments were carried out using the Illumina and Nextclado tools. We verified whether the SARS-CoV-2 variants obtained from wastewater were similar to those reported by the National Institute of Health of Peru from patients during the same period and region. Results. Eighteen of the 20 hospital wastewater samples (90%) provided sequences of sufficient quality to be classified as the Omicron variant according to the WHO classification. Among them, six (30%) were assigned by Nextclade to clades 21K lineage BA.1.1 (n=1), 21L lineage BA.2 (n=2), and 22B lineages BA.5.1 (n=2) and BA .5.5 (n=1). Conclusions. SARS-CoV-2 variants were found in hospital wastewater samples and were similar to those reported by the surveillance system in patients during the same weeks and geographic areas. Wastewater monitoring could provide information on the environmental and temporal variation of viruses such as SARS-CoV-2.

RESUMEN Objetivo. Identificar la presencia del virus SARS-CoV-2 en aguas residuales de hospitales en Perú. Materiales y métodos. Se recolectaron muestras de agua en los efluentes de nueve hospitales del Perú durante marzo y septiembre de 2022 y se realizó la identificación de SARS-CoV-2 mediante secuenciación Illumina. Las asignaciones de variantes, linajes y clados se llevaron a cabo con las herramientas Illumina y Nextclado. Verificamos si las variantes de SARS-CoV-2 obtenida de las aguas residuales fueron similares a las reportadas por el Instituto Nacional de Salud del Perú procedentes de pacientes durante el mismo período y región. Resultados. Dieciocho de las 20 muestras de aguas residuales hospitalarias (90%) proporcionaron secuencias con la calidad suficiente para ser clasificadas como variante Ómicron según la clasificación de la OMS. Entre ellos, seis (30%) fueron asignados por Nextclade a los clados 21K linaje BA.1.1 (n=1), 21 L linaje BA.2 (n=2) y 22B linajes BA.5.1 (n=2) y BA.5.5 (n=1). Conclusiones. Se encontraron variantes del SARS-CoV-2 en muestras de aguas residuales hospitalarias y que fueron similares a las reportadas por el sistema de vigilancia en pacientes durante las mismas semanas y áreas geográficas. El monitoreo de aguas residuales podría proporcionar información sobre la variación ambiental y temporal de virus como el SARS-CoV-2.
