RESUMO A batata-doce é uma raiz alimentar vital, rica em vitaminas, minerais e compostos bioativos. Genótipos que atendam a essas demandas nutricionais são essenciais para combater deficiências de nutrientes e promover a saúde humana. Assim, pressupõe-se a hipótese de que os genótipos de batata-doce diferem na qualidade físico-química e nos compostos bioativos quando avaliados sob as mesmas condições ambientais. Deste modo, este estudo tem como objetivo avaliar a qualidade físico-química e os compostos bioativos em genótipos de batata-doce de polpa alaranjada. O experimento foi conduzido de abril de 2022 a agosto de 2022, na área experimental de Engenharia Agronômica, localizada na Unidade Acadêmica Especializada em Ciências Agrárias (UAECA) - UFRN, em Macaíba, RN, Brasil. Os tratamentos foram compostos por oito genótipos, sendo duas cultivares (BRS Amélia e Beauregard) e seis acessos (Macaíba I, Macaíba II, Macaíba III, Macaíba IV, Ceará-Mirim e Natal I) de batata-doce de polpa alaranjada da coleção didática da UAECA. Após a colheita, foram avaliadas as seguintes características: firmeza, elasticidade, potencial hidrogeniônico (pH), acidez titulável (AT), sólidos solúveis (SS), razão (SS/AT), vitamina C e os compostos bioativos: antocianinas, flavonoides e carotenoides totais. Os genótipos de batata-doce de polpa alaranjada apresentaram características distintas para as variáveis físico-químicas e os compostos bioativos. Devido ao aumento do pH da polpa, as antocianinas foram reduzidas nos genótipos Ceará-Mirim, Macaíba III e Macaíba IV. Os genótipos Macaíba II e Natal I se destacaram quanto à relação SS/AT, flavonoides e antocianinas. ABSTRACT Sweet potato is a vital food root, rich in vitamins, minerals, and bioactive compounds. Genotypes that meet these nutritional demands are essential to combat nutrient deficiencies and promote human health. Thus, it presupposes the hypothesis that sweet potato genotypes differ in physicochemical quality and bioactive compounds when evaluated under the same environmental conditions. Thus, this study aims to evaluate the physicochemical quality and bioactive compounds in genotypes of orange-fleshed sweet potato. The experiment was conducted from April 2022 to August 2022 in the experimental area of Agronomic Engineering, located at the Academic Unit Specialized in Agricultural Sciences (UAECA) - UFRN, in Macaíba, RN, Brazil. The treatments were composed of eight genotypes, being two cultivars (BRS Amélia and Beauregard) and six accessions (Macaíba I, Macaíba II, Macaíba III, Macaíba IV, Ceará-Mirim, and Natal I) of orange-fleshed sweet potato from the UAECA teaching collection. After harvest, the following characteristics were evaluated: firmness, elasticity, hydrogen potential (pH), titratable acidity (TA), soluble solids (SS), ratio (SS/TA), Vitamin C, and the bioactive compounds: anthocyanins, flavonoids, and total carotenoids. The orange-fleshed sweet potato genotypes showed distinct characteristics for the physicochemical variables and the bioactive compounds. Due to increased pulp pH, anthocyanins were reduced in the Ceará-Mirim, Macaíba III, and Macaíba IV genotypes. The Macaíba II and Natal I genotypes stood out regarding the SS/TA ratio, flavonoids, and anthocyanins. RESUMO: O objetivo foi avaliar parâmetros hematológicos e bioquímicos após teste em novo ambiente, e o desempenho zootécnico de Oreochromis niloticus classificado como proativo ou reativo. No experimento 1, machos de tilápia do Nilo com peso médio de 128,33 ± 34,17 g foram mantidos em sistema de recirculação de água (RAS). Imediatamente após a classificação, foram coletadas amostras de sangue de 20 animais reativos e 20 proativos. No experimento 2 foram classificados 60 machos proativos e 60 reativos, com peso médio de 88,23 ± 21,59 g, os quais foram divididos nos seguintes tratamentos: PT (40 animais proativos), RT (40 reativos) MT (20 proativos + 20 reativos). Os animais foram alimentados duas vezes ao dia durante 90 dias. No experimento 1, os animais reativos apresentaram maior hemoglobina e cortisol e menor quantidade de leucócitos. No experimento 2, o ganho em peso foi maior nos animais proativos (PT) e nos animais reativos (RT); porém, a melhor conversão alimentar foi obtida nos animais reativos. A taxa de sobrevivência foi menor no grupo de animais do tratamento MT. Já a hemoglobina e a glicose tiveram valores inferiores para os animais proativos e para aqueles que estavam misturados, no grupo MT. O colesterol foi superior nos animais PT. Conclui-se que variáveis como hemoglobina, cortisol, leucócitos e colesterol têm maior probabilidade de sofrer alterações entre traços de personalidade. Ainda, pode-se concluir que O. niloticus reativos e proativos, cultivados em ambientes separados, apresentam o mesmo potencial de ganho em peso, porém, a conversão alimentar dos reativos é melhor. ABSTRACT: To evaluate hematological and biochemical parameters after testing in a new environment, and the zootechnical performance of Oreochromis niloticus classified as proactive or reactive. RESUMO O potássio é um dos nutrientes mais importantes para o algodoeiro, sendo um elemento que participa de muitas funções fisiológicas na planta. Além disso, sua adequada disponibilidade favorece melhor desempenho produtivo à cultura. Logo, objetivou-se avaliar nesta pesquisa os componentes agronômicos em cultivares de algodão naturalmente colorido adubadas com doses de potássio no Semiárido brasileiro. Para isto, dois experimentos foram conduzidos na Fazenda Experimental Rafael Fernandes, localizada no município de Mossoró, RN, nos períodos de julho a novembro de 2019 e julho a novembro de 2021. O delineamento experimental foi o de blocos casualizados, arranjados em parcelas subdivididas, com quatro repetições. Nas parcelas, foram alocadas as doses de potássio (0, 60, 120, 180 e 240 kg ha-1 de K2O); e, nas subparcelas, as quatro cultivares de algodão naturalmente colorido (BRS Rubi, BRS Safira, BRS Verde e BRS Topázio). As cultivares de algodão colorido respondem à adubação potássica em função das condições edafoclimáticas as quais estão expostas. A cultivar BRS Topázio obteve maior produtividade e porcentagem de fibra nas duas safras de cultivo, destacando o seu potencial para a região. A dose de 240 kg ha-1 de K2O aumentou a produtividade do algodão colorido, em cultivo de segunda safra. ABSTRACT Potassium is one of the most important nutrients for the cotton plant, being an element that participates in many physiological functions. In addition, its adequate availability favors better production performance of the crop. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate the agronomic components in naturally colored cotton cultivars fertilized with potassium doses in the Brazilian semiarid region. For this, two experiments were conducted at Rafael Fernandes Experimental Farm, located in the municipality of Mossoró, RN, from July to November 2019 and July to November 2021. The experimental design was randomized blocks, arranged in split plots, with four repetitions. Potassium doses (0, 60, 120, 180, and 240 kg ha-1 of K2O) were allocated in the plants; and four naturally colored cotton cultivars (BRS Rubi, BRS Safira, BRS Verde, and BRS Topázio) were allocated in the subplots. Colored cotton cultivars respond to potassium fertilization depending on the edaphoclimatic conditions to which they are exposed. BRS Topázio cultivar had higher lint cotton yield and fiber percentage in both growing seasons, highlighting its potential for the region. The dose of 240 kg ha-1 of K2O increased the yield of colored cotton, in second crop cultivation. RESUMO A alta concentração de sais no solo provoca impacto na disponibilidade de água e nutrientes essenciais para o crescimento e fisiologia das plantas. Assim, são necessárias estratégias de manejo que possam mitigar os efeitos negativos do estresse salino, como por exemplo o uso de hormônios vegetais. Assim, este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar o efeito do estresse salino e aplicação de melatonina sobre crescimento e aspectos produtivos de plantas de rabanete. O experimento foi realizado em delineamento em blocos casualizados, em esquema fatorial 3 × 3, com quatro repetições, sendo considerada uma planta por parcela experimental. Os tratamentos foram compostos por três condutividades elétricas da água de irrigação - CEa (0,5; 2,75 e 5,0 dS m-1) e três concentrações de melatonina (0; 0,5 e 1,0 mM). Foram avaliadas a altura de plantas, diâmetro do caule, número de folhas, área foliar, massa seca de folhas, pecíolos e raízes, área foliar específica, razão de área foliar e razão de peso foliar. Além disso, foram analisados aspectos produtivios, como comprimento, diâmetro e peso fresco do bulbo. A aplicação exógena de melatonina reduz os efeitos deletérios do estresse salino no crescimento e aspectos produtivos em plantas de rabanete. A aplicação de melatonina na dose de 0,5 mM é a mais indicada para mitigar os efeitos do estresse salino até o nível de 2,5 dS m-1. O uso da melatonina abre novas perspectivas para o desenvolvimento de estratégias de manejo destinadas a otimizar o crescimento e proteger a cultura do rabanete em condições de salinidade. ABSTRACT High concentration of salts in the soil impacts the availability of water and nutrients essential for plant growth and physiology. Therefore, management strategies that can mitigate the negative effects of salt stress are necessary, such as the use of plant hormones. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the effect of salt stress and the application of melatonin on the growth and production aspects of radish plants. The experiment was carried out in a randomized block design, in a 3 × 3 factorial scheme, with four replications, considering one plant per experimental plot. The treatments consisted of three electrical conductivities of irrigation water - ECw (0.5, 2.75, and 5.0 dS m-1) and three concentrations of melatonin (0, 0.5, and 1.0 mM). Growth variables were evaluated, namely plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, leaf area, dry mass of leaves, petioles and roots, specific leaf area, leaf area ratio, and leaf weight ratio. In addition, production aspects were analyzed, namely bulb length, bulb diameter, and bulb fresh weight. Exogenous application of melatonin reduces the deleterious effects of salt stress on the growth and production aspects of radish plants. Introduction The hemogram and hemogram-derivative ratios (HDRs) are becoming markers of the severity and mortality of COVID-19. We evaluated the hemograms and serial weekly HDRs [neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), monocyte-lymphocyte ratio (MLR), platelet-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), neutrophil-platelet ratio (NPR) and systemic immune-inflammatory index (SII)] in the survivors and non-survivors of COVID-19. Methods We retrospectively reviewed the medical notes and serial hemograms of real-time reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR)-confirmed COVID-19 adults hospitalized from April 2020 to March 2021 from the time of diagnosis to the 3rd week of diagnosis. Results Of the 320 adults, 257 (80.3%) were survivors and had a lower mean age than the non-survivors (57.73 vs. 64.65 years, p < 0.001). At diagnosis, the non-survivors had lower hematocrit (p = 0.021), and lymphocyte (p = 0.002) and basophil (p = 0.049) counts and the hematocrit showed a p-value (Is this what you meant???) of 0.021); higher NLR (p < 0.001), PLR (p = 0.047), NPR (p = 0.022) and SII (p = 0.022). Using general linear models, the survivors and non-survivors showed significant variations with weekly lymphocyte count (p < 0.001), neutrophil count (p = 0.005), NLR (p = 0.009), MLR (p = 0.010) and PLR (p = 0.035). All HDRs remained higher in the non-survivors in the 2nd week and 3rd week of diagnosis and the HDRs were higher in the intubated patients than in the non-intubated patients. The NLR and SII were more efficient predictors of mortality in COVID-19 patients. Conclusions This study shows that serial lymphocyte and neutrophil counts, NLR, PLR, MLR, NPR and SII could serve as good and easily accessible markers of severity and predictors of outcomes in COVID-19 patients and should be used for the monitoring of treatment response. hemogramderivative derivative (HDRs COVID19. RESUMO A batata-doce está entre as culturas alimentícias mais importantes do mundo. Por apresentar alta diversidade genética, essa espécie possui cultivares que podem responder de maneiras diferentes em função da adubação mineral. Dentre os nutrientes, o fósforo está relacionado com processos fisiológicos e bioquímicos que podem influenciar na qualidade final do produto. Este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar a influência de doses de P na qualidade e compostos bioativos de cultivares de batata-doce - Paraná, BRS Amélia e BRS Cuia. Foram avaliados o pH, sólidos solúveis (SS), acidez titulável (AT), relação SS/AT, açúcares solúveis e os compostos bioativos - flavonoides, antocianinas e carotenoides. As doses de P influenciaram as cultivares de batata-doce. A dose de 120 kg ha-1 promoveu incrementos nos parâmetros pH, SS, AT e relação SS/AT para a cultivar BRS Cuia. A mesma dose promoveu incrementos nos açúcares solúveis totais para a cultivar BRS Amélia. RESUMO OBJETIVO Apresentar os resultados da análise de custos para a modalidade de consulta remota (teleconsulta) em comparação à consulta presencial, em pacientes com diabetes do tipo 2, no Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS) brasileiro, na cidade Joinville, Santa Catarina. Para além dos custos, sob a perspectiva do gestor local, o artigo também apresenta estimativas sob perspectiva do paciente, a partir dos custos de transporte associados a cada modalidade de consulta. MÉTODO Foram coletados dados de 246 consultas, remotas e presenciais, entre 2021 e 2023, no contexto de um ensaio clínico randomizado sobre o impacto da teleconsulta realizado na cidade de Joinville, SC. As teleconsultas foram realizadas em Unidades Básicas de Saúde (UBS) e as consultas presenciais no Centro de Saúde Especializada. Para o cálculo dos custos, foi utilizado o método de custos baseado em tempo e atividade (TDABC) e, para o cálculo dos custos relativos aos transportes dos pacientes, foram coletados dados diretamente com os participantes da pesquisa. Foram analisados e comparados descritivamente os custos médios e o tempo de realização de cada modalidade de consulta em diferentes cenários e perspectivas. RESULTADOS Considerando apenas a perspectiva do gestor local do SUS, os custos para a realização da teleconsulta se mostraram 4,5% maiores do que para uma consulta presencial. Contudo, quando considerados os custos de transporte associados a cada paciente, o valor estimado da consulta presencial passa a ser 7,7% maior e, no caso de consultas em outros municípios, 15% maior do que a teleconsulta. CONCLUSÃO Os resultados demonstram que a incorporação da teleconsulta dentro do SUS pode trazer vantagens econômicas, a depender da perspectiva e do cenário considerado, além de ser uma estratégia com potencial para aumentar o acesso à atenção especializada na rede pública.

ABSTRACT OBJECTIVE To present the results of a cost analysis of remote consultations (teleconsultations) compared to in-person consultations for patients with type 2 diabetes, in the Brazilian public healthcare system (SUS) in the city of Joinville, Santa Catarina (SC). In addition to the costs from the local manager’s perspective, the article also presents estimates from the patient’s perspective, based on the transportation costs associated with each type of consultation. METHOD Data were collected from 246 consultations, both remote and in-person, between 2021 and 2023, in the context of a randomized clinical trial on the impact of teleconsultation carried out in the city of Joinville, SC. Teleconsultations were carried out at Primary Health Units (PHU) and in-person consultations at the Specialized Health Center. The consultation costs were calculate by the method time and activity-based costing (TDABC), and for the estimate of transportation costs data was collected directly from the research participants . The mean costs and time required to carry out each type of consultation in different scenarios and perspectives were analyzed and compared descriptively. RESULTS Considering only the local SUS manager’s perspective, the costs for carrying out a teleconsultation were 4.5% higher than for an in-person consultation. However, when considering the transportation costs associated with each patient, the estimated value of the in-person consultation becomes 7.7% higher and, in the case of consultations in other municipalities, 15% higher than the teleconsultation. CONCLUSION The results demonstrate that the incorporation of teleconsultation within the SUS can bring economic advantages depending on the perspective and scenario considered, in addition to being a strategy with the potential to increase access to specialized care in the public network.

Abstract Despite the significant progress of the Psychiatric Reform process in Brazil, assistance to people in crisis represents a node in the care of people with mental disorders, as it demands from the mental health care network a different response from the classic psychiatric hospitalization. This work, based on the analysis of documents and conducting interviews with managers at central and local levels, sought to investigate how the reception of the crisis takes place in the Psychosocial Care Centers III in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Data analysis was based on Giddens' Theory of Structuring, relating the attitudes of managers with available resources. The work identified advances in CAPS III implementation processes, however insufficient and poorly distributed in the territory. In addition, territorial violence emerged as an important variable in the impact of the population's mental health and in the development of health actions. It is concluded that it is important to implement more CAPS III, especially in regions totally devastated by services that host the crisis.

Resumo Apesar do avanço significativo do processo de Reforma Psiquiátrica no Brasil, a assistência à pessoa em crise representa um nó ao cuidado dos portadores de transtorno mental, à medida que demanda da rede de atenção à saúde mental uma resposta distinta da clássica internação psiquiátrica. Este trabalho, a partir da análise de documentos e realização de entrevistas com gestores de nível central e local, procurou investigar como se dá o acolhimento à crise nos Centros de Atenção Psicossocial III do município do Rio de Janeiro. A análise dos dados tomou como referencial a Teoria da Estruturação de Giddens, relacionando as atitudes dos gestores com os recursos disponíveis. O trabalho identificou avanço em processos de implantação de CAPS III, contudo insuficiente e mal distribuído no território. Além disso, a violência territorial emergiu como variável importante no impacto da saúde mental da população e no desenvolvimento de ações de saúde. Conclui-se que é importante a implantação de mais CAPS III, sobretudo em regiões totalmente devastadas de serviços que acolham a crise.

Abstract The concept of crisis in mental health involves a complex multidimensional formulation, forged in the context of the Brazilian Psychiatric Reform, which is not always taken unequivocally by those involved. However, it is necessary to consider a network capable of providing adequate answers on how to provide care in this situation; thus, networking is an essential condition of this approach. This article discusses the management of the mental health crisis in Psychosocial Care Centers III (CAPS III) in the municipality of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from the perspective of central and local health care managers, via semi-structured interviews and analysis based on Giddens’ Theory of Structuring. This study found that the municipality of Rio de Janeiro adopts a crisis care model structured into a centralized care network and integrated network, with an emergency network highly integrated with the Psychosocial Attention Network (RAPS), especially with the CAPS III, and the crisis situations are cared for preferably in specific services. Still, from Giddens’ perspective, CAPS III have the legitimacy to provide care toward mental health crisis.

Resumo O conceito de crise em saúde metal envolve uma complexa formulação multidimensional, forjada no contexto da Reforma Psiquiátrica Brasileira, que nem sempre é tomado de maneira unívoca pelos envolvidos. Contudo, há de se considerar uma rede capaz de dar respostas adequadas sobre como acolher essa situação, de maneira que o trabalho em rede é uma condição essencial dessa abordagem. Este artigo traz a discussão do manejo da crise em saúde mental nos Centros de Atenção Psicossocial III (CAPS III) do município do Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, a partir da perspectiva dos gestores de saúde de nível central e local, realizada por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas e analisadas com base na Teoria da Estruturação de Giddens. Este trabalho identificou que o Rio de Janeiro apresenta um modelo de atenção à crise estruturado em rede de atenção centralizada e rede integrada, uma vez que apresenta grande integração da rede de urgência com a Rede de Atenção Psicossocial (RAPS), sobretudo com os CAPS III, e as situações de crises são atendidas preferencialmente em serviços específicos para seu atendimento. Ainda assim, pela perspectiva de Giddens, os CAPS III têm legitimidade para cumprir o papel de atenção à crise em saúde mental.

RESUMO O uso de reguladores de crescimento do grupo das citocininas e auxinas tem demonstrado aumentar a produtividade de algumas culturas, pois podem estar envolvidos na expressão do sexo da planta, embora pouco se saiba sobre a ação da auxina IBA e da citocinina CPPU na frutificação da abóbora, bem como a interação entre ambas, o que torna este campo de estudo promissor. Assim, o objetivo deste estudo foi induzir a frutificação em abóbora Atlas, por meio de diferentes formas de aplicação e proporções de citocinina e auxina e avaliar seus efeitos nas características físico-químicas dos frutos. Os tratamentos foram compostos por seis proporções associadas a reguladores de crescimento e duas formas de aplicação. O delineamento experimental foi em blocos casualizados com quatro repetições. Aos 72 dias após o transplante, foram realizadas análises de crescimento e qualidade dos frutos. O comportamento dos hormônios é modulado por sua concentração e local de aplicação, podendo o efeito ser benéfico ou não. As proporções 50/50% via folha e 75/25% via ovário foram as que aumentaram o crescimento e os parâmetros de qualidade dos frutos. ABSTRACT The use growth regulators from the cytokinins and auxins group has been shown to increase the productivity of certain crops, as they may be involved in the expression of plant sex, although little is known about the action of auxin IBA and cytokinin CPPU on the fruiting of squash, as well as the interaction between both, which makes this field of study promising. Thus, the objective of this study was to induce the fruiting in Atlas squash, by means of different forms of application and proportions of cytokinin and auxin and to evaluate their effects on the physical-chemical characteristics of the fruits. The treatments were composed of six proportions associated with growth regulators and of two forms of application. The experimental design was a randomized block design with four replicates. At 72 days after transplanting, growth and fruit quality analyses were performed. The behavior of the hormones is modulated by their concentration and place of application, and the effect may be beneficial or not. RESUMO O fósforo (P) é um nutriente mineral primordial para as plantas, pois está diretamente ligado a processos fisiológicos e bioquímicos essenciais para a manutenção das plantas, podendo influenciar na produção e na qualidade final do produto. Além disso, o P favorece o bom desenvolvimento radicular, o que pode beneficiar a cultura da batata-doce. Assim, o objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar a influência de doses crescentes de P na produção e qualidade física da batata-doce em duas épocas de cultivo em ambiente semiárido. Os experimentos foram realizados de abril a agosto de 2021 (época 1) e de dezembro de 2021 a abril de 2022 (época 2) na Fazenda Experimental Rafael Fernandes - UFERSA, Mossoró, RN, BR. O delineamento utilizado foi em blocos casualizados, com quatro repetições. Os tratamentos consistiram de cinco doses de P (0; 60; 120; 180 e 240 kg ha-1 de P2O5) via fertirrigação e testados em batata -doce cultivar Paraná. Após a colheita das raízes, foram avaliados o número e a produtividade de raízes (comerciais, não comerciais e totais), a massa média e a porcentagem de raízes comerciais. Raízes comerciais foram avaliadas quanto à firmeza, elasticidade e tempo de cozimento. As doses de P influenciaram as características de produção, principalmente na dose de 60 kg ha-1 de P2O5, o que promoveu aumentos na produtividade de raízes comerciais. As doses de P promoveram a redução da firmeza nas duas épocas de cultivo. A dose de 180 kg ha-1 de P2O5 proporcionou menor tempo de cozimento para a segunda época de cultivo. ABSTRACT Phosphorus (P) is a primordial mineral nutrient for plants, as it is directly linked to physiological and biochemical processes essential for plant maintenance, and can influence the production and final quality of the product. Furthermore, P favors good root development, which can benefit sweet potato crop. Thus, the objective of the work is to assess the influence of increasing doses of P on the production and physical quality of sweet potatoes in two growing seasons in a semi-arid environment. The experiments were carried out from April to August 2021 (season 1) and from December 2021 to April 2022 (season 2) at the Rafael Fernandes Experimental Farm - UFERSA, Mossoró, RN, BR. The design was randomized blocks, with four replications. Urea is the most widely used nitrogen fertilizer worldwide. However, ammonia volatilization, resulting from applying urea to the soil surface, causes economic and environmental losses; thus, urease inhibitors have been developed to mitigate these losses. In this work, the anti-ureolytic activity of Schiff’s base 4-(3-hydroxybenzylideneamino) phenol (3B4) and its amine-derived (3B4a) was evaluated. The most promising urease inhibitor in soil was 3B4 (55.0 ± 3.9% inhibition), with comparable results to N-(butyl) thiophosphoric triamide (p = 0.659). In the in vitro analysis (Canavalia ensiformis), the results of anti-ureolytic activity were similar, 22.6 ± 6.9% for 3B4 and 24.2 ± 9.6% for 3B4a. Biophysical interaction studies were also carried out through molecular docking studies and molecular fluorescence spectroscopy. These studies showed that both substances are preferentially competitive inhibitors, with the interaction between 3B4a and urease forming a more stable complex. In the analysis by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, no interaction was observed when 3B4 or 3B4a was mixed with urea (1:1) for 48 h, providing evidence of compatibility. Resumo Introdução As doenças cardiovasculares (DCV) repre-sentam a principal causa de morte global, destacando-se em internações e gastos. Diante disso, é essencial compreender as principais DCV em pacientes admitidos em serviços de emergência hospitalar e a atuação do fisioterapeuta para planejamento e direcionamento dos serviços de saúde e para denotar a participação e incentivar formações fisioterapêuticas específicas no contexto da atenção terciária. Objetivo Traçar o perfil de emergências cardiovasculares e avaliar a atuação fisioterapêutica em pacientes adultos de serviço de emergência de um hospital no interior do estado de São Paulo. Métodos Trata-se de um estudo observacional, em que foram analisadas 1.256 fichas de passagem de plantão, no período de oito meses. Os dados coletados foram idade, sexo, hipótese diagnóstica cardiovascular e tratamento fisioterapêutico realizado. Resultados Foram incluídos 75 pacientes que apresentavam o perfil de emergências cardiovasculares, sendo as mais prevalentes: insuficiência cardíaca (n = 21), síndrome corona-riana aguda (n = 14), infarto agudo do miocárdio (n = 13), bradarritmia (n = 6) e crise hipertensiva (n = 5). Em relação à atuação fisioterapêutica e suas aplicações, as mais frequentes foram manejo da ventilação mecânica invasiva (n = 34), manobras de reexpansão pulmonar (n = 17), auxílio a intubação orotraqueal (n = 17), ventila-ção mecânica não invasiva (n = 14), manobras de higiene brônquica (n = 12), cinesioterapia (n = 10) e sedestação (n = 10). Conclusão A insuficiência cardíaca e a síndrome coronária aguda foram as doenças cardiovasculares que mais ocasionaram internação no serviço de emergência hospitalar e as condutas com ênfase no aparelho respiratório foram as mais aplicadas. Abstract Introduction Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the lead-ing cause of death globally, with a high proportion of hospitalizations and costs. In view of this, it is essential to understand the main CVDs in patients admitted to hospital emergency services and the role of physiotherapists, in order to plan and direct health services, and to denote participation and encourage specific physiotherapy training in the context of tertiary care. Objective To outline the profile of cardiovascular emergencies and to evaluate physiotherapy in adult patients in the emergency department of a hospital in the interior of the state of São Paulo. Methods This was an observational study which analyzed 1,256 on-call records over a period of eight months. The data collected included age, gender, cardiovascular diagnostic hypothesis and physiotherapy treatment carried out. Results A total of 75 patients with cardiovascular emergencies were included, the most prevalent of which were: heart failure (n = 21), acute coronary syndrome (n = 14), acute myocardial infarction (n = 13), bradyarrhythmia (n = 6) and hypertensive crisis (n = 5). Regarding physiotherapeutic actions and their applications, the most frequent were invasive mechanical ventilation management (n = 34), lung re-expansion maneuvers (n = 17), orotracheal intubation assistance (n = 17), non-invasive mechanical ventilation (n = 14), bronchial hygiene maneuvers (n = 12), kinesiotherapy (n = 10) and sedation (n = 10). Conclusion Heart failure and acute coronary syndrome were the cardiovascular diseases that caused the most admissions to the hospital emergency department and that the procedures with an emphasis on the respiratory system were the most applied. ABSTRACT Objective To characterize the use of private services in infant vaccination and assess vaccination coverage according to the service used. Methods : This was a national vaccination survey conducted in 2020 that estimated the use of private vaccination services and vaccination coverage among infants residing in state capitals and 12 inland municipalities. Results : Of the 37,801 participants, 25.1% (95%CI 23.2;27.2) used private services at least once, with higher proportions in capitals, larger cities and in the South and Southeast regions. Socioeconomic and demographic differences were identified among families, based on the service used. The coverage for the set of vaccines administered up to 24 months was 60.3% (95%CI 58.6;62.0) in the public service and 59.5% (95%CI 55.9;63.0) in private services, and up-to-date vaccines, 10.3% (95%CI 9.1;11.6) and 9.4% (95%CI 7.4;11.8), respectively. Conclusion The use of private services was frequent, with low coverage for the set of vaccines, regardless of the type of service used, especially for up-to-date vaccines.

RESUMO Objetivo Caracterizar a utilização dos serviços privados na vacinação de lactentes e avaliar as coberturas vacinais segundo serviço utilizado. Métodos Inquérito nacional de vacinação realizado em 2020 que estimou a utilização de serviços privados de vacinação e as coberturas vacinais de lactentes residentes nas capitais dos estados, no Distrito Federal e em 12 municípios do interior. Resultados Dos 37.801 participantes, 25,1% (IC95% 23,2;27,2) utilizaram alguma vez serviços privados, com maiores proporções em capitais, cidades de maior porte e regiões Sul e Sudeste. Identificaram-se diferenças socioeconômicas e demográficas nas famílias, segundo o serviço utilizado. A cobertura para o conjunto de vacinas aplicadas até 24 meses foi de 60,3% (IC95% 58,6;62,0) no serviço público e de 59,5% (IC95% 55,9;63,0) no privado, e das vacinas em dia, de 10,3% (IC95% 9,1;11,6) e 9,4% (IC95% 7,4;11,8), respectivamente. Conclusão A utilização dos serviços privados foi frequente, com baixas coberturas para o conjunto de vacinas, independentemente do tipo de serviço utilizado, especialmente para vacinas em dia.

BACKGROUND Leishmania tarentolae is a non-pathogenic species found in lizards representing an important model for Leishmania biology. However, several aspects of this Sauroleishmania remain unknown to explain its low level of virulence. OBJECTIVES We reported several aspects of L. tarentolae biology including glycoconjugates, proteolytic activities and metabolome composition in comparison to pathogenic species (Leishmania amazonensis, Leishmania braziliensis, Leishmania infantum and Leishmania major). METHODS Parasites were cultured for extraction and purification of lipophosphoglycan (LPG), immunofluorescence probing with anti-gp63 and resistance against complement. Parasite extracts were also tested for proteases activity and metabolome composition. FINDINGS Leishmania tarentolae does not express LPG on its surface. It expresses gp63 at lower levels compared to pathogenic species and, is highly sensitive to complement-mediated lysis. This species also lacks intracellular/extracellular activities of proteolytic enzymes. It has metabolic differences with pathogenic species, exhibiting a lower abundance of metabolites including ABC transporters, biosynthesis of unsaturated fatty acids and steroids, TCA cycle, glycine/serine/threonine metabolism, glyoxylate/dicarboxylate metabolism and pentose-phosphate pathways. MAIN CONCLUSIONS The non-pathogenic phenotype of L. tarentolae is associated with alterations in several biochemical and molecular features.
