Resumen Objetivo: Describir las tendencias temporales en las tasas de detección de sífilis gestacional y congénita, por grupo de edad materna y macrorregión de salud de Paraná, 2007-2021. Métodos: Estudio de series temporales utilizando datos de vigilancia; se realizó análisis de tendencia mediante regresión segmentada, estimando cambios porcentuales anuales promedio (CPAP) e intervalos de confianza del 95% (IC95%). Resultados: Se identificaron aumentos en la detección estatal de sífilis gestacional (CPAP = 21,7; IC95% 17,7;32,8) y congénita (CPAP = 14,8; IC95% 13,0;19,7); las macrorregiones mostraron incrementos, destacándose la Noroeste (gestacional, CPAP = 26,1; IC95% 23,4;31,6) y la Norte (congénita, CPAP = 23,8; IC95% 18,8;48,9); las tendencias estatales fueron crecientes para mujeres jóvenes [gestacional, CPAP = 26,2 (IC95% 22,4;40,6); congénita, CPAP = 19,4 (IC95% 17,6;21,8)] y adultas [gestacional, CPAP = 21,3 (IC95% 16,9;31,9); congénita, CPAP = 13,7 (IC95% 11,9;19,3)]. Conclusión: Las tasas de detección de sífilis materno-infantil estuvieron en aumento en el estado, independientemente de la edad materna y la macrorregión de salud.

RESUMO: Objetivo: Mapear a produção científica acerca das repercussões psicossociais do transtorno mental em adolescentes nas relações familiares. Método: Revisão de escopo baseada no referencial do instituto Joanna Briggs, realizada nas bases de dados: Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS), PubMed, Cumulative Index to Nursing & Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), Scopus, Web of Science e PsycInfo. Os artigos publicados entre janeiro de 2015 a julho de 2023, foram selecionados de forma independente por dois revisores. Resultados: Foram incluídos 19 estudos que revelaram três categorias temáticas, constituídas por repercussões emocionais no bem-estar subjetivo das relações familiares, repercussões emocionais desfavoráveis nas relações familiares e repercussões sociais. ABSTRACT Objective: Map the scientific production about the psychosocial repercussions of mental disorder in adolescents in family relationships. Method: Scope review based on the Joanna Briggs Institute framework, conducted in the databases: Virtual Health Library (VHL), PubMed, Cumulative Index to Nursing & Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), Scopus, Web of Science, and PsycInfo. Two reviewers independently selected the articles published between January 2015 and July 2023. Results: Nineteen studies were included, revealing three thematic categories, consisting of emotional repercussions on the subjective well-being of family relationships, unfavorable emotional repercussions in family relationships, and social repercussions. Conclusion: One should seek improvement in the triadic interactions between the family, the adolescent, and health professionals to support them in solving dilemmas and unfavorable psychosocial repercussions, as well as prioritize the protection and strengthening of well-being and quality in relationships. RESUMO Objetivo: Conhecer as estratégias utilizadas acerca das subnotificações por uso de agrotóxicos no meio rural. Método: Estudo qualitativo realizado em oito unidades básicas de regiões rurais e duas unidades de pronto atendimento de um município do sul do Brasil. A coleta de dados deu-se em 2023, por entrevistas. Participaram 20 profissionais enfermeiros. Os dados foram submetidos à análise de conteúdo. Resultados: Apontaram como estratégias a realização da educação permanente e continuada dos profissionais que realizam a notificação, a busca ativa e a capacitação dos trabalhadores que lidam diretamente com esse tipo de substância, a informatização da notificação por meio do preenchimento das fichas online e a realização de pesquisas acerca da temática. ABSTRACT Objective: To learn the strategies used regarding underreporting of pesticide use in rural areas. Methods: A qualitative study was carried out in eight primary healthcare units in rural areas and two emergency care units in a municipality in southern Brazil. Data collection took place in 2023 through interviews. Twenty professional nurses participated. The data was submitted to content analysis. Results: The strategies identified were lifelong and continuing education for the professionals who carry out the notification, active search and training of workers who deal directly with this type of substance, computerizing the notification by filling in the forms online, and carrying out research on the subject. RESUMEN Objetivo: Conocer las estrategias utilizadas para el subregistro del uso de plaguicidas en áreas rurales. Métodos: Estudio cualitativo realizado en ocho unidades de atención primaria en áreas rurales y dos unidades de atención de emergencia en un municipio del sur de Brasil. La recopilación de datos se realizó en 2023 mediante entrevistas. Participaron 20 profesionales de enfermería. Los datos fueron sometidos a análisis de contenido. Abstract The chromosomes of two freshwater stingrays, Potamotrygon motoro and Potamotrygon sp., from the Amazon River basin in Brazil were investigated using integrated molecular (cytochrome c oxidase subunit 1) and cytogenetic analyses. Potamotrygon motoro presented intraspecific variation in the diploid number, with 2n=66 in the females and 2n=65 in the males, while Potamotrygon sp. had a karyotype with 66 chromosomes, in both sexes. The C-banding revealed the presence of heterochromatic blocks accumulated in the centromeric region of all the chromosomes in both species. The FISH assays with 18S DNA probes highlighted the terminal region of three or four chromosome pairs in P. motoro and seven chromosomes in Potamotrygon sp. The rDNA 5S sequences were found in only one chromosomal pair in both species. The interspecific genetic distance based on the COI sequences, between P. motoro and Potamotrygon sp. from Amazon River was 10.8%, while that between the Amazonian P. motoro and Potamotrygon amandae from the Paraná River was 2.2%, and the genetic distance between Potamotrygon sp. and P. amandae was 11.8%. In addition to the new insights on the cytogenetics of the study species, the results of the present study confirmed the existence of heteromorphic sex-linked chromosomes in P. motoro.

Resumo Objetivo: Descrever a prevalência do déficit estatural entre crianças da povo karapotó. Métodos: Estudo transversal, de base populacional, incluiu crianças entre seis e 59 meses da aldeia Plak-Ô e do povoado Terra Nova, São Sebastião (AL), feito entre 2008 e 2009. O déficit estatural foi avaliado pelo índice estatura/idade, adotou-se como ponto de corte escore z≤−2. A prevalência de déficit estatural foi determinada pela comparação das frequências simples e relativas. As curvas de crescimento da população foram comparadas com as curvas de referência da OMS. A análise dos dados contemplou a variável de desfecho estatura/idade e as variáveis preditoras local de moradia, sexo, idade, anemia, peso ao nascer, renda familiar, alfabetização materna. Para comparação das variáveis categóricas dos grupos foi usado o teste do qui-quadrado e o teste do qui-quadrado com correção de Yates para as variáveis dicotômicas, consideraram-se como significância estatística p-valores≤0,05. Resultados: A prevalência de déficit estatural foi de 15,6% para as crianças do povoado Terra-Nova e 9,1% para as da aldeia Plak-Ô. A prevalência de déficit estatural da povo karapotó foi de 13,4%. As variáveis: alfabetização materna, renda familiar e baixo peso ao nascer se relacionaram estatisticamente com o déficit estatural. Conclusões: As prevalências de déficit estatural verificadas são expressivas, são caracterizadas como problema de saúde pública. Destacam-se, entre os fatores associados, condições desfavoráveis de alfabetização materna, renda familiar e baixo peso ao nascer. O planejamento de estratégias para mudar a situação precisa levar tais fatores em consideração.

Abstract Objective: To describe the prevalence of short stature among children of Karapotó ethnic background. Methods: Cross-sectional, population-based study that included children between 6 and 59 months of age from the Plak-Ô native village and the Terra Nova settlement, São Sebastião, Alagoas, carried out between 2008 and 2009. Short stature was evaluated by the Height/Ageindex, using as cutoff z score≤−2. The prevalence of short stature was determined by compa-ring simple and relative frequencies. The population growth curves were compared to the WHO reference curves. Data analysis included the outcome variable: Height/Age and the predictor variables: place of residence, gender, age, anemia, birth weight, family income, maternal literacy. The chi-square test was used to compare the categorical variables, where as the chi-square test with Yates correction was used for dichotomous variables, considering as statistically significant p-values≤0.05. Results: The prevalence of short stature was 15.6% for children from the Terra Nova settlement and 9.1% for those from Plak-Ô native village. The prevalence of short stature among the Karapotó ethnicity was 13.4%. The variables: maternal literacy, family income and low birth weight were statistically associated with short stature. Conclusions: The observed short stature prevalence rates are significant, being characterized as a public health problem. Among the associated factors, the following are noteworthy: unfavorable conditions of maternal literacy, family income and low birth weight. The planning of strategies to reverse the situation must take such factors into consideration.

O tecido ósseo possui grande potencial regenerativo com capacidade para restaurar completamente sua estrutura e função originais. Há situações em que os defeitos ósseos não conseguem por si só obter o reparo, casos em que se fazem necessários o uso de enxertos, para um correto tratamento e bom prognóstico. Este experimento teve o propósito de analisar microscopicamente o efeito do tamanho das partículas de matriz de osso medular bovino desmineralizado, nas formas micro e macrogranular, na reparação de defeito ósseo em fêmures de coelhos, tendo como controle o coágulo sanguíneo. Após 1,3 e 6 meses da implantação dos materiais, os animais foram mortos e as peças anatômicas removidas. Estes resultados sugerem falhas na desmineralização e/ou na retirada de potenciais antigênicos durante a produção do biomaterial. Podemos concluir que o tamanho das partículas não influenciou na evolução do processo reparativo dos defeitos ósseos, atuando apenas como substâncias osteopreenchedoras e que o material implantado deverá sofrer um aprimoramento no controle de qualidade na linha de produção, uma vez que poderá representar uma boa alternativa para enxertos ósseos.

The bone tissue has a great regenerative potential, with ability to completely restore its structure and original functions. In some situations, though, bone defects cannot be self-repaired, thus requiring the use of grafts for a correct treatment and good prognosis. This work aimed at microscopically analyzing the effect of the particle size of demineralized bovine cancellous bone matrix in micro and macrogranular forms on the repair of bone defects in femurs of rabbits, with blood clot used as control. At 1, 3 and 6 months after implantation of the materials, the animals were killed and the anatomic specimens were removed. A foreign body-type granulomatous reaction containing macrophages and multinucleated giant cells in contact with the implanted particles was observed. These results suggest a failure in demineralization and/or interruption of the antigenic potential during production of the biomaterial. It is concluded that the size of the particles did not influence the evolution of the repair process of bone defects, acting only as bone-filler substances, and that the material implanted should be improved by quality control during production, since it may represent a good alternative for bone graft.

Considerando estudos anteriores sobre a similaridade entre a composição química do agregado de trióxido mineral e o cimento Portland, o objetivo deste estudo foi investigar a resposta pulpar de dentes de cães após pulpotomia e proteção pulpar direta com MTA Angelus e cimento Portland branco. Trinta e oito remanescentes pulpares foram recobertos com esses materiais. Cento e vinte dias após o tratamento, os animais foram sacrificados e os espécimes removidos e preparados para análise histológica. Ambos os materiais demonstraram os mesmos resultados quando utilizados como materiais de capeamento pulpar, induzindo a formação de ponte de tecido mineralizado e mantendo a vitalidade pulpar em todos os espécimes. Ambos matérias se mostraram efetivos como protetores pulpares após pulpotomia em dentes de cães.

Considering previous studies on the similarity between the chemical composition of the mineral trioxide aggregate and the Portland cement, the purpose of this study was to investigate the pulp response of dog's teeth after pulpotomy and direct pulp protection with MTA Angelus and white Portland cement. Thirty eight pulp remnants were protected with these materials. One hundred and twenty days after treatment, the animals were sacrificed and the specimens removed and prepared for histological analysis. Both materials demonstrated the same results when used as pulp capping materials, inducing hard tissue bridge formation and maintaining pulp vitality in all specimens. The MTA Angelus and the white Portland cement showed to be effective as pulp protection materials following pulpotomy.
