Introdução: O canal inguinal é região propensa a hérnias que podem ter indicação cirúrgica. Embora a videocirurgia possa ser menos agressiva, a identificação dos ramos nervosos é necessária para diminuir a incidência de inguinodinia que pode ocorrer mesmo com essa via minimamente invasiva. Objetivo: Revisar a incidência e os motivos da inguinodinia nos procedimentos cirúrgicos laparoscópicos na correção das hérnias inguinais. Método: Revisão sistemática, realizada nas bases de dados PubMed, BVS e Google Scholar no período de 2018 a 2024, incluindo artigos em português e inglês. De 1.758 artigos, 10 foram selecionados. Resultado: Os principais achados da pesquisa comprovaram que o reconhecimento e a devida identificação anatômica dos principais nervos da região inguinal durante a operação – ílio-hipogástrico, ilioinguinal e ramo genital do genitofemoral - são capazes de diminuir as chances de os pacientes desenvolverem dor crônica na região inguinal após hernioplastia. A perícia e experiência do cirurgião ao evitar trauma nos nervos locais garante qualidade de vida aos pacientes e reduz a exposição deles a eventuais novas intervenções subsequentes para tratamento de inguinodinia. Conclusão: A prevenção é a medida mais importante tratando-se de erradicar a inguinodinia. Dessa maneira, o profissional deve ter conhecimento suficiente da topografia mais frequente da passagem dos principais nervos e seus ramos para evitar lesões iatrogênicas.

Introduction: The inguinal canal is a region prone to hernias that may require surgery. Although videosurgery may be less aggressive, the identification of nerve branches is necessary to reduce the incidence of inguinodynia that can occur even with this minimally invasive route. Objective: To review the incidence and reasons for inguinodynia in laparoscopic surgical procedures for the correction of inguinal hernias. Method: Systematic review, carried out in the PubMed, BVS and Google Scholar databases from 2018 to 2024, including articles in Portuguese and English. From initial number of 1,758 articles 10 were selected. Result: The main findings of the research proved that the recognition and proper anatomical identification of the main nerves of the inguinal region during the operation - iliohypogastric, ilioinguinal and genital branch of the genitofemoral - are able to reduce the chances of patients developing chronic pain in the inguinal region after hernioplasty. The surgeon's expertise and experience in avoiding trauma to local nerves guarantees quality of life for patients and reduces their exposure to possible new subsequent interventions to treat inguinodynia. Conclusion: Prevention is the most important measure when it comes to eradicating inguinodynia. Therefore, the professional must have sufficient knowledge of the most frequent topography of the passage of the main nerves and their branches to avoid iatrogenic injuries

Resumo A escoliose idiopática do adolescente (EIA) é considerada a deformidade vertebral de maior gravidade e ocorrência, que acomete crianças e adolescentes ainda na fase de desenvolvimento neuropsicomotor, antes de atingirem a maturidade esquelética. Este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar a abordagem cirúrgica da EIA, considerando resultados associados à redução de curvatura patológica, função pulmonar e repercussões na qualidade de vida dos adolescentes submetidos a tal tratamento. Revisão Sistemática de literatura, com abordagem quanti-qualitativa dos dados coletados, cuja estruturação se deu conforme as orientações de Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) realizada nas bases de dados vinculadas à Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE) e Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS). A amostra total dos estudos foi de 638 adolescentes com EIA, com uma idade média de 14,93 anos ± 1,24. A correção média da curvatura patológica principal nos estudos foi de 55,06% ± 12,24. Em todos os estudos selecionados com fusão espinhal posterior para correção da EIA verificou-se redução significativa das curvaturas patológicas (> 49%), sendo que a reincidência de curvatura em nenhum dos estudos superou um ganho patológico superior a 5%. Abstract Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis is considered the most severe and common spinal deformity, affecting children and adolescents still in the neuropsychomotor development phase before they reach skeletal maturity. This study aimed to evaluate the surgical approach to adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS), considering the results associated with the reduction of pathological curvature, pulmonary function, and repercussions on the quality of life of adolescents undergoing such treatment. Systematic literature review, with a quantitative and qualitative approach to the data collected, structured according to the guidelines of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA), carried out in the databases linked to the Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE) and Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature (LILACS). The total sample of the studies was 638 adolescents with AIS, with a mean age of 14.93 years ± 1.24. The mean correction of the main pathological curvature in the studies was 55.06% ± 12.24. RESUMO Objetivo: Investigar a associação entre a anemia por deficiência de ferro e a duração do sono no primeiro ano de vida. Métodos: Foram avaliadas 123 crianças, sendo o sono investigado aos três, seis e 12 meses de idade e a anemia ao nascimento e aos seis meses. Utilizaram-se como pontos de corte para anemia e curta duração de sono, respectivamente, hemoglobina<11 g/dL (nascimento e/ou seis meses) e tempo total <10 h (3, 6 e/ou 12 meses). A comparação do tempo médio de sono entre as crianças com e sem anemia foi realizada pelo teste t de Student e modelos de regressão logística foram usados para verificar diferenças na duração do sono (curta/não curta) entre os grupos. Análises de regressão linear foram conduzidas para determinar a associação entre a duração do sono e valores de hemoglobina. As análises foram ajustadas para potenciais confundidores. Resultados: As crianças com anemia tiveram maior chance de apresentar curta duração do sono [odds ratio — OR (intervalo de confiança — IC95%): 4,02 (1,02–15,76); p≤0,05]. Abstract Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the association between iron deficiency anemia and sleep duration in the first year of life. Methods: A total of 123 infants were investigated, with sleep being evaluated at 3, 6, and 12 months of age and anemia at birth and 6 months. The cutoff points for anemia and short sleep duration were hemoglobin <11 g/dL (at birth and/or 6 months) and <10 h (at 3, 6, and 12 months), respectively. The comparison of the average sleep time between infants with and without anemia was performed using the Student’s t-test, and logistic regression models were also used to verify differences in the sleep duration (short/not short) between the groups. Linear regression analyses were conducted to determine the association between sleep duration and hemoglobin values. The analyses were adjusted for potential confounders. Results: Children with anemia were more likely to be short sleepers [odds ratio (95% confidence interval (CI)): 4.02 (1.02–15.76); p≤0.05], and for each unit increase in hemoglobin values, the sleep duration increased by 16.2 min [β (95%CI): 0.27 (0.00–0.55); p≤0.05), regardless of family income, maternal schooling, gender, and body mass index at birth. Conclusions: Our results suggest that iron deficiency anemia is associated with short sleep duration in the first year of life and indicate the need for longitudinal investigations, with longer follow-up, to verify the impact of anemia on sleep duration at subsequent ages. RESUMO Objetivo: Identificar a relevância das internações por deformidades congênitas do quadril na Bahia. Métodos: Este é um estudo epidemiológico retrospectivo, feito em bases de dados públicas. Descritores em ciências da saúde: “displasia congênita de quadril”, “Hip Dislocation Congenital” AND “Luxação congênita de quadril”. ABSTRACT Objective: This study aimed to identify the relevance of hospitalizations for congenital hip deformities in Bahia. Methods: This is a retrospective epidemiological study in public databases. Descriptors in health sciences: “congenital hip dysplasia”, “congenital hip dislocation”, and “congenital dislocation hip”. Resumen Objetivo: Describir las tendencias temporales en las tasas de detección de sífilis gestacional y congénita, por grupo de edad materna y macrorregión de salud de Paraná, 2007-2021. Métodos: Estudio de series temporales utilizando datos de vigilancia; se realizó análisis de tendencia mediante regresión segmentada, estimando cambios porcentuales anuales promedio (CPAP) e intervalos de confianza del 95% (IC95%). Resultados: Se identificaron aumentos en la detección estatal de sífilis gestacional (CPAP = 21,7; IC95% 17,7;32,8) y congénita (CPAP = 14,8; IC95% 13,0;19,7); las macrorregiones mostraron incrementos, destacándose la Noroeste (gestacional, CPAP = 26,1; IC95% 23,4;31,6) y la Norte (congénita, CPAP = 23,8; IC95% 18,8;48,9); las tendencias estatales fueron crecientes para mujeres jóvenes [gestacional, CPAP = 26,2 (IC95% 22,4;40,6); congénita, CPAP = 19,4 (IC95% 17,6;21,8)] y adultas [gestacional, CPAP = 21,3 (IC95% 16,9;31,9); congénita, CPAP = 13,7 (IC95% 11,9;19,3)]. Abstract Objective: To describe temporal trends in the detection rates of gestational and congenital syphilis, by maternal age and health macro-region of the state of Paraná, Brazil, 2007-2021. Methods: This was a time-series study using surveillance data; the trend analysis was performed by means of joinpoint regression, and average annual percent change (AAPC) and 95% confidence intervals (95%CI) were estimated. Results: An increase in statewide detection of gestational syphilis (AAPC = 21.7; 95%CI 17.7; 32.8) and congenital syphilis (AAPC = 14.8; 95%CI 13.0; 19.7) was found; an increase was also found in the health macro-regions, with the Northwest (gestational, AAPC = 26.1; 95%CI 23.4; 31.6) and North (congenital, AAPC = 23.8; 95%CI 18.8; 48.9) macro-regions standing out; statewide rising trends were observed for young women [gestational, AAPC = 26.2 (95%CI 22.4; 40.6); congenital, AAPC = 19.4 (95%CI 17.6; 21.8)] and adult women [gestational, AAPC = 21.3 (95%CI 16.9; 31.9); congenital, AAPC = 13.7 (95%CI 11.9; 19.3)]. Conclusion: Maternal and child syphilis detection rates increased in the state, regardless of maternal age and health macro-region.

Resumo As artroplastias de quadril são procedimentos cirúrgicos largamente realizados em todo o mundo buscando retorno da funcionalidade, alívio da dor e melhora da qualidade de vida dos pacientes acometidos por quadros de osteoartrite, fraturas de colo de fêmur e osteonecrose da cabeça femoral, dentre outras etiologias. As infecções articulares periprotéticas são uma das complicações mais temidas pela elevada morbimortalidade associada, com elevado número de patógenos que podem estar associados à sua etiologia. O objetivo do presente estudo foi analisar aspectos correlacionados à ocorrência da infecção, diagnóstico e prevenção de infecções articulares periprotéticas no quadril associadas a Staphylococcus aureus após cirurgia corretiva de fraturas de quadril. Trata-se de uma revisão sistemática de literatura realizada nas bases de dados indexadas na Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE, na sigla em inglês) realizada de acordo com os preceitos estabelecidos pela metodologia Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA, na sigla em inglês). Abstract Hip arthroplasties are surgical procedures widely performed all over the world, seeking to return functionality, relieve pain, and improve the quality of life of patients affected by osteoarthritis, femoral neck fractures, osteonecrosis of the femoral head, among other etiologies. Periprosthetic joint infections are one of the most feared complications due to the high associated morbidity and mortality, with a high number of pathogens that may be associated with its etiology. The aim of the present study was to analyze aspects correlated with the occurrence of infection, diagnosis and prevention of periprosthetic joint infections in the hip associated with Staphylococcus aureus after corrective surgery for hip fractures. This is a systematic review of the literature carried out in the databases indexed in the Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE) carried out in accordance with the precepts established by the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) methodology. Twenty studies that addressed the diagnosis and prevention of periprosthetic joint infections after hip fractures were selected for analysis. Abstract Although control of Covid-19 has improved, the virus continues to cause infections, such as tuberculosis, that is still endemic in many countries, representing a scenario of coinfection. To compare Covid-19 clinical manifestations and outcomes between patients with active tuberculosis infection and matched controls. This is a matched case-control study based on data from the Brazilian Covid-19 Registry, in hospitalized patients aged 18 or over with laboratory confirmed Covid-19 from March 1, 2020, to March 31, 2022. Cases were patients with tuberculosis and controls were Covid-19 patients without tuberculosis. From 13,636 Covid-19, 36 also had active tuberculosis (0.0026%). Pulmonary fibrosis (5.6% vs 0.0%), illicit drug abuse (30.6% vs 3.0%), alcoholism (33.3% vs 11.9%) and smoking (50.0% vs 9.7%) were more common among patients with tuberculosis. They also had a higher frequency of nausea and vomiting (25.0% vs 10.4%). There were no significant differences in in-hospital mortality, mechanical ventilation, need for dialysis and ICU stay. Patients with TB infection presented a higher frequency of pulmonary fibrosis, abuse of illicit drugs, alcoholism, current smoking, symptoms of nausea and vomiting. Abstract Objective: To describe temporal trends in the detection rates of gestational and congenital syphilis, by maternal age and health macro-region of the state of Paraná, Brazil, 2007-2021. Methods: This was a time-series study using surveillance data; the trend analysis was performed by means of joinpoint regression, and average annual percent change (AAPC) and 95% confidence intervals (95%CI) were estimated. Results: An increase in statewide detection of gestational syphilis (AAPC = 21.7; 95%CI 17.7; 32.8) and congenital syphilis (AAPC = 14.8; 95%CI 13.0; 19.7) was found; an increase was also found in the health macro-regions, with the Northwest (gestational, AAPC = 26.1; 95%CI 23.4; 31.6) and North (congenital, AAPC = 23.8; 95%CI 18.8; 48.9) macro-regions standing out; statewide rising trends were observed for young women [gestational, AAPC = 26.2 (95%CI 22.4; 40.6); congenital, AAPC = 19.4 (95%CI 17.6; 21.8)] and adult women [gestational, AAPC = 21.3 (95%CI 16.9; 31.9); congenital, AAPC = 13.7 (95%CI 11.9; 19.3)]. Resumen Objetivo: Describir las tendencias temporales en las tasas de detección de sífilis gestacional y congénita, por grupo de edad materna y macrorregión de salud de Paraná, 2007-2021. RESUMO Introdução: A incapacidade funcional causada por alterações físicas leva a limitações significativas nas atividades diárias e gera um grande impacto no retorno das pessoas com deficiência ao espaço social e ao local de trabalho, demandando a avaliação da influência em longo prazo do uso de um dispositivo especialmente desenvolvido para a postura ortostática nos parâmetros fisiológicos, biomecânicos e funcionais de pacientes amputados e com medula espinhal. Objetivo: O objetivo foi avaliar o efeito do uso do dispositivo de suporte postural na função, dor e parâmetros biomecânicos e cardiológicos em pacientes com lesão medular e amputados em comparação com um grupo controle. Métodos: O aparelho ortostático foi utilizado pelos participantes por um período de dez dias consecutivos, em três ciclos de 50 minutos diários, com acompanhamento de 15 dias. Os participantes foram posicionados e estabilizados por meio de alças ajustáveis nos ombros, tronco e quadris. O desfecho primário foi o questionário Breve Inventário de Dor. Quinze participantes foram incluídos no grupo controle, 15 no grupo amputado e 15 no grupo medular. Resultados: Nossos resultados demonstram que o uso do dispositivo permite a posição ortostática de amputados e pacientes com lesão medular avaliados por dez dias, levando a melhora da funcionalidade e dor nos grupos de amputados e medula espinhal em relação ao grupo controle. Além disso, não foram observadas alterações nos resultados secundários, indicando que o uso do dispositivo não causou interferência prejudicial aos pacientes. Conclusão: O uso prolongado do dispositivo ortostático é benéfico para melhorar a funcionalidade, reduzir a dor em amputados e pacientes com lesão medular. ABSTRACT Introduction: Functional incapacity caused by physical alterations leads to significant limitations in daily activities and has a major impact on the return of people with disabilities to the social space and the workplace. This calls for an evaluation of the long-term influence of the use of a device specially developed for orthostatic posture on the physiological, biomechanical and functional parameters of amputees and spinal cord patients. Objective: The objective was evaluate the effect of postural support device use on function, pain, and biomechanical and cardiologic parameters in spinal cord injury and amputees patients compared to a control group. Methods: The orthostatic device was used by the participants for a period of ten consecutive days, for three cycles of 50 minutes each day, and a 15-day follow-up. Participants were positioned and stabilized using adjustable straps on the shoulders, trunk, and hips. The primary outcome was brief pain inventory. Fifteen participants were included the control group, 15 in the amputee group, and 15 in the spinal cord group. Results: Our results demonstrate that the use of the device allows the orthostatic position of amputees and spinal cord patients evaluated for ten days, leading to improved functionality and pain in the spinal cord and amputee groups compared to the control group. In addition, no changes were observed for secondary outcomes, indicating that the use of the device did not cause harm interference to patients. Conclusion: The long-term use of the orthostatic device is beneficial for improving functionality, reduce pain in amputees and spinal cord injury patients. Abstract Background: Sagittaria montevidensis Cham. & Schltdl. is a weed that forms dense infestations in wet-seeded rice. The herbicide florpyrauxifen-benzyl is widely used in rice cultivation; however, there have been reports of failed S. montevidensis control, and these cases are increasing. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate S. montevidensis for resistance the florpyrauxifen-benzyl and assess the sensitivity of this biotype to auxin-mimicking herbicides from other chemical groups. Methods: The experiments were conducted in greenhouse using a completely randomized design with four replicates. Dose-response tests were performed using two biotypes of S. montevidensis, resistant and sensitive. The experiments were performed over two generations, using increasing doses of the florpyrauxifen-benzyl. The experiment with other auxin mimics was conducted with the second-generation populations, using increasing doses of the herbicides 2,4-D, dicamba, and triclopyr. In both experiments, weed control was assessed at 7, 14, and 28 days after application (DAA), and the dry mass of the aerial part was determined at 28 DAA. Results: Resistance of S. montevidensis to florpyrauxifen-benzyl was confirmed, with a resistance factor >700 in the two evaluated generations. The biotype was sensitive to 2,4-D, dicamba, and triclopyr achieving greater than 80% control in all treatments, and cross-resistance to synthetic auxins was ruled out. ABSTRACT Background: The use of X-rays non-destructive technique in color scale in 2D and 3D needs further studies to understand variations in the apparent density of wood stored under natural conditions. The objective of this study was to evaluate, by digital X-ray images and to test the rainbow scale in digital X-ray images in 2D and 3D, the apparent density of eucalyptus wood after storage in the field during 365 days. Trees of two diametric classes were randomly distributed at three heights in a pile in direct contact with the soil. The apparent density of the wood and its diametric profiles in the radial direction were determined using digital X-ray images in gray scale, and converted to a rainbow scale and the density variations plotted on a 3D surface. Results: The wood density decreased as the storage period increased. The density of the samples at 0 days of storage evaluated with the 3D images was homogeneous, while an intense attack by xylophagous organisms due to the exposure to the environmental conditions was observed in those collected at 365 days of storage. Resumo Objetivo O presente estudo investigou vieses atencionais na ansiedade utilizando expressões faciais e medidas de rastreamento ocular. Método Participaram 76 participantes, com idades entre 18 e 36 anos, divididos em função dos níveis de ansiedade traço: Baixa, Moderada e Alta. Os estímulos foram expressões faciais e as medidas de interesse foram a Probabilidade de Primeira Fixação e a Proporção do Tempo de Fixação. Resultados Os resultados evidenciaram vieses de vigilância para expressões de nojo, independentemente do nível de ansiedade, e vieses de manutenção para expressões de alegria, independentemente do tempo de apresentação dos estímulos, no grupo Baixa Ansiedade Traço, quando comparado com o grupo Alta Ansiedade Traço. Abstract Objective The present study investigated attentional biases in anxiety using facial expressions and eye-tracking measures. Method Seventy-six participants, between 18 and 36 years, took part in the study and were divided based on trait anxiety levels: Low, Moderate, and High. The stimuli were facial expressions, and the measures of interest were Probability of First Fixation and Proportion of Fixation Time. Results The results revealed vigilance biases towards expressions of disgust, regardless of anxiety level, and maintenance biases towards expressions of happiness, regardless of stimulus presentation time, in the Low Trait Anxiety group compared to the High Trait Anxiety group. RESUMO (As briófitas da Reserva Particular do Patrimônio Natural Parque das Neblinas, Estado de São Paulo, Brasil: IV Workshop de Briófitas do Brasil). Em novembro de 2022, ocorreu o IV Workshop de Briófitas Brasileiras, celebrando 200 anos de estudos de briófitas no Brasil. A data comemora a publicação de Raddi em 1822 e o mês de nascimento de Aloysio Sehnem, o primeiro brasileiro a estudar briófitas. Dezessete entusiastas de briófitas participaram das atividades práticas utilizando amostras do herbário SP e coleta no Parque das Neblinas, situado entre Mogi das Cruzes e Bertioga - SP. O parque abrange uma área com Floresta Ombrófila e plantações de Eucalyptus. Foram encontradas 381 espécies de briófitas, sendo Lejeuneaceae a família mais diversa, com 83 espécies, e Pilotrichaceae com 20 espécies. Vinte e quatro espécies são novos registros para o Estado de São Paulo. 38% são exclusivas da Mata Atlântica, 12% são endêmicas do Brasil. ABSTRACT (The bryophytes of the Reserva Particular do Patrimônio Natural Parque das Neblinas, State of São Paulo, Brazil: IV Bryophyte Workshop of Brazil). In November 2022, the IV Workshop of Brazilian Bryophytes took place, celebrating 200 years of bryophyte studies in Brazil. The date commemorates Raddi’s publication in 1822 and the birth month of Aloysio Sehnem, the first Brazilian to study bryophytes. Seventeen bryophyte enthusiasts participated in practical activities using samples from the SP herbarium and collecting in the Parque das Neblinas, located between Mogi das Cruzes and Bertioga, São Paulo State, Brazil. The park covers an area with Ombrophilous Forest and Eucalyptus plantations. 381 species of bryophytes were found, with Lejeuneaceae being the most diverse family, with 83 species, and Pilotrichaceae with 20 species. Twenty-four species are new records for the State of São Paulo. 38% are exclusive to the Atlantic Forest, and 12% are endemic to Brazil. ABSTRACT Introduction: Dengue is the most fatal virus disease spread by mosquito bites and Aedes aegypti is the main transmitting agent. It is an endemic disease in the tropical and subtropical regions, currently affecting more than 100 countries. Although most patients present mild forms of the disease, a considerable proportion of individuals has severe alterations in the blood count. The aim of this study was to evaluate the consumption pattern of blood components in epidemic and non-epidemic periods and to verify if there was an impact on dengue cases and the death rate. Method: This is a retrospective cross-sectional study conducted through the collection and analysis of data from the Brazilian Ministry of Health from 2008 to 2019 on new cases and deaths from dengue, as well as the consumption of blood components in the period mentioned by hemovigilance bulletins of the Brazilian authority. Results: Regarding the results, no significant difference was found between the absolute amount of blood components used in years with an epidemic peak. Regarding the relative values, an important variation was shown among the distributive consumption patterns of blood components in the outbreak years. In the univariate linear regression analysis, there was statistical significance between the increase in the number of dengue cases and deaths from dengue with the increase in the consumption of red blood cell concentrates (RBP), platelet concentrates (PP), fresh frozen plasma (FFP) and cryoprecipitate (Cryo) (p-value < 0.05). The increase in dengue cases was related to the increase in Cryo consumption with clinical significance (R² > 0.5), but dengue deaths were not correlated to the same. In multivariate analysis, all regression models had clinical and statistical significance. Conclusion: The data obtained in the present study demonstrate that there is a relevant relationship between the increase in cases and deaths from dengue with the blood components usage, especially PP, FFP and cryoprecipitate. Objetivo: evaluar la capacidad de los Centros de Atención Psicosocial de Alcohol y Otras Drogas 24 horas para manejar situaciones de crisis de las personas que consumen AOD en la atención integral. Método: estudio cuantitativo, evaluativo y longitudinal, realizado de febrero a noviembre de 2019. La muestra inicial estuvo compuesta por 121 personas que consumen AOD, que recibieron atención integral en situaciones de crisis en dos Centros de Atención Psicosocial para Alcohol y Otras Drogas 24 horas en el centro de São Paulo. Los mismos fueron reevaluados después de 14 días de atención. La capacidad para manejar la crisis se evaluó mediante un indicador validado. Los datos se analizaron utilizando estadísticas descriptivas y modelos de regresión de efectos mixtos. Resultados: sesenta y siete personas que consumen AOD completaron el follow-up (54,9%). Durante la atención de las situaciones de crisis, nueve personas que consumen AOD (13,4%; p=0,470) fueron derivadas a otros servicios de la red de salud: siete por complicaciones clínicas, una por intento de suicidio y una por hospitalización psiquiátrica. La capacidad de los servicios para manejar situaciones de crisis fue del 86,6%, fue considerada positiva. Objective: to assess the ability of 24-hour Psychosocial Care Centers specialized in Alcohol and Other Drugs to handle the users’ crises in comprehensive care. Method: a quantitative, evaluative, and longitudinal study was conducted from February to November 2019. The initial sample consisted of 121 users, who were part of the comprehensibly care in crises by two 24-hour Psychosocial Care Centers specialized in Alcohol and other Drugs in downtown São Paulo. These users were re-evaluated 14 days after admission. The ability to handle the crisis was assessed using a validated indicator. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and regression of mixed-effects models. Results: 67 users (54.9%) finished the follow-up period. During crises, nine users (13.4%; p=0.470) were referred to other services from the health network: seven due to clinical complications, one due to a suicide attempt, and another for psychiatric hospitalization. The ability to handle the crisis in the services was 86.6%, which was evaluated as positive. Objetivo: avaliar a capacidade dos Centros de Atenção Psicossocial Álcool e outras Drogas 24 horas em manejar situações de crise dos usuários no acolhimento integral. Método: estudo quantitativo, avaliativo e longitudinal, realizado de fevereiro a novembro de 2019. A amostra inicial foi composta por 121 usuários, acolhidos integralmente em situações de crise por dois Centros de Atenção Psicossocial Álcool e outras Drogas 24 horas do centro de São Paulo. Estes foram reavaliados após 14 dias de acolhimento. A capacidade de manejar a crise foi avaliada por um indicador validado. Os dados foram analisados por estatística descritiva e por regressão de modelos de efeitos mistos. Resultados: sessenta e sete usuários concluíram o follow-up (54,9%). Durante o acolhimento às situações de crise, nove usuários (13,4%; p=0,470) foram encaminhados para outros serviços da rede de saúde: sete por complicações clínicas, um por tentativa de suicídio e um para internação psiquiátrica. A capacidade de manejo das situações de crise pelos serviços foi de 86,6%, avaliada como positiva. Conclusão: os dois serviços avaliados foram capazes de manejar situações de crise no próprio território, evitando internações e tendo apoio da rede quando necessário, atingindo assim, os objetivos da desinstitucionalização.
