RESUMO: A mangueira apresenta elevado índice de abscisão de frutos, que é potencializado em regiões semiáridas devido ao estresse ambiental. A utilização de bioestimulantes e fitorreguladores tem demonstrado ser uma estratégia promissora para melhorar a fixação de frutos. Assim, o presente estudo foi realizado com objetivo de definir a melhor estratégia para a fixação e desenvolvimento dos frutos, com a aplicação de fitorreguladores e bioestimulante na mangueira ‘Keitt’, cultivada no Vale do São Francisco. Foram realizados dois experimentos. No experimento 1, foi utilizado o delineamento de blocos casualizados, com quatro tratamentos T1: controle, T2: ácido giberélico AG3 + ácido 2,4-diclorofenoxiacético (2,4-D), T3: AG3+2,4-D+Benziladenina, T4: Bioestimulante + CoMo® (fontes de cobalto e molibdênio). No experimento 2, o esquema fatorial (2 ×3 + 1), correspondendo a duas formas de fertilização de potássio (recomendada e ajustada), três concentrações de giberelina (0, 10 e 20 mg L-1) e um tratamento adicional (controle - fertilização de potássio recomendada e sem estratégia de fixação). As variáveis analisadas incluem o número relativo de frutos, o número de frutos para os mercados doméstico e estrangeiro, o potencial produtivo, a produção, a produtividade, o volume de frutos, a massa dos frutos e o rendimento da casca, polpa e semente. A aplicação de 10 mg L-1 AG3 + 10 mg L-1 2,4-D + 10 mg L-1 de Benziladenina em floração plena da mangueira ‘Keitt’, aumentou a fixação e a produção de frutos. Independentemente da fertilização, as aplicações sequenciais de 10 ou 20 mg L-1 de AG3, mostraram ser uma estratégia eficaz para a produção da mangueira ‘Keitt’. A fertilização potássica ajustada e a aplicação de 10 mg L-1 de AG3 favorece a produção de frutos de maior a massa e o volume. ABSTRACT: The mango tree presents a high level of fruit abscission, which is increased in semiarid regions due to environmental stress. The use of biostimulants and phytoregulators has shown to be a promising strategy to improve fruit setting. Thus, the present study defined the best strategy for setting and development of the fruit, with the application of phytoregulators and biostimulants on the ‘Keitt’ mango tree, cultivated in the São Francisco Valley. Two experiments were performed. In experiment 1, a randomized block design was used, with four treatments T1: control, T2: gibberellic acid (AG3) + 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D), T3: AG3 + 2,4-D+Benzyladenine, T4: Biostimulant + CoMo® (sources of cobalt and molybdenum). In experiment 2, the factorial scheme (2 ×3 + 1) distributed in randomized blocks was established, corresponding to two forms of potassium fertilization (recommended and adjusted), three gibberellin concentrations (0, 10 and 20 mg L-1) and additional treatment (control - recommended potassium fertilization and no setting strategy). The variables analyzed include the relative number of fruits, the number of fruits for domestic and foreign markets, productive potential, production, productivity, fruit volume, fruit mass, and the yield of peel, pulp and stone. The application of 10 mg L-1 AG3 + 10 mg L-1 2,4-D + 10 mg L-1 Benzyladenine in full flowering of the ‘Keitt’ mango tree, increased the setting and the production of the fruit. Regardless of fertilization, sequential applications at 10 or 20 mg L-1 of AG3 proved to be an effective strategy to produce ‘Keitt’ mango tree. RESUMO Devido às importantes funções do cálcio na fisiologia vegetal, a suplementação deste nutriente pode ser uma estratégia viável para aumentar a tolerância das plantas à salinidade. Assim, o objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar as trocas gasosas e o crescimento de cultivares de rúcula de folhas largas cultivadas em fibra de coco submetidas ao estresse salino. Quatro soluções nutritivas [(S1-solução nutritiva padrão (condutividade elétrica da água - CEa de 0,5 dS m-1; S2- solução nutritiva utilizando água salina com NaCl a 3,5 dS m-1; S3-S2 enriquecida com Ca(NO3)2 a 50%; S4-S2 enriquecido com Ca(NO3)2 a 100%, obtendo valores de 2,3, 5,1, 5,5 e 5,9 dS m-1, para S1, S2, S3 e S4, respectivamente], e duas cultivares de rúcula. (Donatella e Gigante Folha Larga), dispostas em esquema fatorial 2 × 4, com três repetições, foram estudadas. As plantas foram colhidas 40 dias após a semeadura e avaliadas quanto às seguintes variáveis: altura de planta, número de folhas, área foliar, massa fresca total, massa seca total, área foliar específica, suculência foliar, índice relativo de clorofila, condutância estomática, taxa de assimilação de CO2, taxa de transpiração, concentração interna de CO2 e eficiência instantânea do uso da água e eficiência intrínseca de carboxilação. A cultivar Gigante Folha Larga foi mais tolerante à salinidade da solução nutritiva. ABSTRACT Due to the important functions of calcium in plant physiology, supplementation of this nutrient may be a viable strategy to increase the tolerance of plants to salinity. Thus, the objective in this study was to evaluate the gas exchange and growth of broad-leaf arugula cultivars cultivated in coconut fiber subjected to salt stress. RESUMO O potássio é um nutriente com potencial para aumentar a tolerância das plantas ao estresse salino. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a produção e a qualidade da couve submetida ao estresse salino e às concentrações de potássio em ambiente protegido. O delineamento experimental adotado foi em parcela subdivididas, sendo as parcelas compostas por cinco soluções nutritivas (tratamento controle, S1 - solução nutritiva padrão usando água de baixa salinidade, 0,5 dS m-1 (500 mg L-1 de KNO3), e quatro soluções nutritivas preparadas em águas salobras (3,5 dS m-1) contendo quatro concentrações de KNO3 (S2 - 500 mg L-1, S3 - 625 mg L-1, S4 - 750 mg L-1, S5 - 1.000 mg L-1). As subparcelas foram representadas por duas cultivares de couve folha (Manteiga e Manteiga da Geórgia). Foram avaliadas as variáveis de produção de folhas e qualidades físicas e químicas pós-colheita. A solução nutritiva salinizada com adição de NaCl (S2) reduziu a produção, mas não reduziu a qualidade pós-colheita da couve folha. A adição extra de KNO3 em 25% (S3) foi eficiente para reduzir o efeito deletério do estresse salino sobre as variáveis comprimento de folha, área foliar, produção e número de maços. A cv. ABSTRACT Potassium is a nutrient with the potential to increase plant tolerance to salt stress. The aim of this study was to evaluate the production and quality of kale subjected to salt stress and potassium concentrations in a protected environment. The experimental design was in split plots, with plots composed of five nutrient solutions (control treatment, S1 - standard nutrient solution prepared in low-salinity water, 0.5 dS m-1 (500 mg L-1 of KNO3), and four nutrient solutions prepared in brackish waters (3.5 dS m-1) containing four concentrations of KNO3 (S2 - 500 mg L-1, S3 - 625 mg L-1, S4 - 750 mg L-1, S5 - 1,000 mg L-1), and subplots represented by two leaf kale cultivars (Manteiga and Manteiga da Geórgia). Leaf production variables and post-harvest physical and chemical qualities were evaluated. The saline nutrient solution with the addition of NaCl (S2) reduced production but did not reduce the post-harvest quality of kale. Abstract The objective of this study was to examine the impact of a high-fat finishing diet on the in vivo performance, anatomical and carcass characteristics, and meat quality of adult culled goats. Over a period of 28 days leading up to slaughter, eighteen adult culled goats were subjected to a finishing diet provided in quantities sufficient to meet 3.0 times the nutritional requirements of adult non-dairy maintenance goats. The female goats were divided into two groups: one fed with the baseline diet without fat supplementation (n = 9) and the other fed a diet concentrated supplemented with whole full-fat linseed (n = 9). The diets varied in fat content (2.8% vs. 8.4% DM). The high-fat group exhibited a higher dry matter intake compared to the control group (+37%), along with elevated plasma cholesterol and triglyceride levels. The control group experienced a significant decrease in daily weight gain between the second and final week of the finishing period (-70%), in contrast to the increase observed in the high-fat group (+59%). At slaughter, no differences were noted between the groups in anatomical and carcass characteristics. Additionally, no differences were found between the diets regarding proximate composition, pH, yellow color component, and lightness of loin. The high-fat group exhibited a higher redness of loin. The inclusion of high-fat levels in finishing diets for culled adult goats allows for increased feed intake and performance but does not appear to affect carcass or meat quality.

RESUMO Técnicas alternativas de cultivo sem solo são difundidas; no entanto, estudos comparando os sistemas hidropônicos ainda precisam ser estudados, principalmente em regiões semiáridas. O presente estudo teve como objetivo avaliar a efeito de sistemas hidropônicos na produtividade e qualidade de cultivares de alface submetidas a diferentes condutividades elétricas da solução nutritiva. A pesquisa foi conduzida em casa de vegetação, adotando delineamento inteiramente casualizado. em esquema fatorial 2 × 2 × 3, sendo duas cultivares de alface (Cinderela e Rubinela), duas condutividades elétricas (2,90 e 1,6 dS m-1), e três sistemas hidropônicos (NFT, semi-hidropônico e floating), com três repetições. ABSTRACT Alternative techniques for cultivation without soil are widespread; however, studies comparing hydroponic systems still need to be studied, mainly in semi-arid regions. The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of hydroponic systems on the yield and quality of lettuce cultivars subjected to different electrical conductivities of the nutrient solution. The research was conducted in a greenhouse, adopting a completely randomized design in a 2 × 2 × 3 factorial scheme, being two lettuce cultivars (Cinderela and Rubinela), two electrical conductivities (2.90 and 1.6 dS m-1), and three hydroponics systems (NFT, semi-hydroponic, and floating), with three replications. The number of leaves, leaf succulence, specific leaf area, leaf fresh mass, total dry mass, leaf area, titratable acidity, vitamin C, and soluble solids were evaluated. Cinderela cultivar showed the highest average leaf fresh mass, total dry mass, leaf area, and vitamin C values. The NFT and floating systems provided the highest leaf yield and quality, especially in the solution of 1.60 dS m-1. RESUMO A pinheira (Annona squamosa L.) é uma frutífera sensível à salinidade. Uma das alternativas para minimizar os efeitos deletérios do estresse salino é a adoção de práticas de manejo da fertilização mineral, promovendo o aumento da tolerância da cultura aos sais. Portanto, o objetivo foi avaliar as doses de NPK para mitigar o estresse salino em mudas de pinheira irrigadas com água residual salina. O experimento foi realizado em casa de vegetação, em delineamento de blocos casualizados, em esquema fatorial 3 × 5, correspondendo a três águas de irrigação (água de abastecimento local de 0,53 dS m-1 de condutividade elétrica (controle); rejeito salino da dessalinização de 3,50 dS m-1; efluente de piscicultura de 3,50 dS m-1) e cinco proporções da recomendação de NPK (25, 50, 75, 100 e 125% da recomendação de fertilização), com quatro repetições. O crescimento, acúmulo de biomassa e nutrientes foram avaliados. A irrigação com rejeito salino e efluente de piscicultura restringe o crescimento das mudas de pinha, independentemente da dose de NPK utilizada. A homeostase iônica das mudas irrigadas com rejeito salino e efluente de piscicultura é otimizada pela fertilização com 50% da recomendação de NPK correspondente a 50, 150 e 75 mg de N, P2O5 e K2O dm-3, respectivamente. RESUMO O amendoim (Arachis hypogaea) é uma importante cultura agrícola no Brasil, considerada uma das mais importantes oleaginosas cultivadas. O uso de bactérias solubilizadoras de fertilizantes pode mitigar o estresse salino. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar as trocas gasosas, o crescimento e a eficiência do uso da água da cultura do amendoim irrigado com água salobra sob adubação fosfatada e inoculada com bactérias do gênero Bacillus sp. O delineamento experimental utilizado neste estudo foi inteiramente casualizado, em esquema fatorial 4 × 2 × 2, com 5 repetições, referente às formas de adubação (F1 - 0% fósforo, F2 - 50% fósforo, F3 - 100% fósforo e F4 - bovino biofertilizante), presença e ausência do inoculante e dois níveis de condutividade elétrica da água de irrigação (CEa - 0.3 e 4.0 dS m-1). As adubações com fertilizante orgânico (100% de biofertilizante) e mineral (50 e 100% de fósforo) associada a Bacillus sp. mitigou os danos causados pelo estresse salino e proporcionou maior eficiência no uso da água, índice de clorofila, concentração interna de CO2 e diâmetro do caule. O tratamento controle (sem adubação fosfatada e sem estresse salino) e a aplicação de Bacillus sp., promoveu maior desempenho na fotossíntese líquida, taxa de transpiração, condutância estomática e altura das plantas em plantas de amendoim. ABSTRACT Peanut (Arachis hypogaea) is an important agricultural crop in Brazil, considered one of the most important oilseed crops cultivated. The use of fertilizer-solubilizing bacteria can mitigate salt stress. The objective of this study was to evaluate the gas exchange, growth, and water use efficiency of the peanut crop irrigated with brackish water under phosphate fertilization and inoculated with bacteria of the genus Bacillus sp. The experimental design used in this study was completely randomized, in a 4 × 2 × 2 factorial scheme, with 5 replicates, referring to the forms of fertilization (F1 - 0% phosphorus, F2 - 50% phosphorus, F3 - 100% phosphorus, and F4 - bovine biofertilizer), presence and absence of the inoculant and two levels of electrical conductivity of the irrigation water (ECw - 0.3 and 4.0 dS m-1). Fertilization with organic fertilizer (100% biofertilizer) and mineral fertilizer (50 and 100% phosphorus) associated with Bacillus sp. mitigated the damage caused by salt stress and promoted greater water use efficiency, chlorophyll index, internal CO2 concentration and stem diameter. Abstract Traditional post-fire forest management can influence future vegetation composition and recovery of a burned area. The present study, integrated in SUDOE-REMAS project (SOE3/P4/E0954) and Curricular Unit Silviculture II (Instituto Superior de Agronomia, Universidade de Lisboa), evaluated the effect of forest management on the diversity of post-fire vegetation in the cork oak forest from Serra do Caldeirão (Algarve, Portugal). Climate is classified as Csa and most of soils are Leptosols. We selected three types of cork oak plots: unburned (A), burned with post-fire management (B) and burned with post-fire abandonment (C). Floristic inventories were carried out through transects (15 transects per group and each one with 10 m of length ) to determine species abundance and diversity. Hill series diversity indices were estimated for the individuals inventoried. The results indicated that plots C present greater diversity in all Hill Series indices. Plots A presented greater diversity when compared to B. The species Lavandula stoechas ssp. luisieri Rozeira was the dominant in the 3 groups (19% in plots A, 17% in B and 19% in C). In the burned plots (B+C), Cistus ladanifer L. represented 14% of the total individuals, with or without management. In the unburned plots (A), Ulex argenteus Welw. ex Webb representes 17% of the individuals present. There’s a greater presence of pyrophytic species (genera Cistus and Ulex) in burned plots, with or without management. Fire is favourable to species diversity but not to their resistance to new fires. Nevertheless, management of herbaceous flora in burned plots seems to positively influence vegetation composition and diversity.

Resumo A gestão florestal tradicional pós-fogo pode influenciar a vegetação futura do local e a recuperação da área ardida. O presente estudo, integrado no projeto SUDOE-REMAS (SOE3/P4/E0954) e na Unidade Curricular de Silvicultura II ministrada no Instituto Superior de Agronomia da Universidade de Lisboa, avaliou o efeito da gestão florestal na diversidade da vegetação pós-fogo no sobreiral da Serra do Caldeirão (Algarve, S de Portugal). A maioria dos solos são classificados como Leptossolos e o clima é do tipo Cs. Selecionaram-se parcelas de 3 tipos: não ardidas com gestão pós-fogo (A), ardidas com gestão pós-fogo (B) e ardidas sem gestão pós-fogo (C). Efetuaram-se inventários florísticos através de transeptos (15 transeptos por tipologia), com 10 m de comprimento cada, para avaliação da abundância e diversidade de espécies. Estimaram-se os índices de diversidade da série de Hill para os indivíduos inventariados. Os resultados indicaram que as parcelas do tipo C apresentam maior diversidade em todos os índices da Série de Hill. As parcelas A apresentaram maior diversidade quando comparadas com as parcelas B. A espécie Lavandula stoechas ssp. luisieri Rozeira é a espécie dominante nos 3 grupos (19% in plots A, 17% in B and 19% in C). Nas parcelas ardidas (B+C), Cistus ladanifer L. representa 14% dos indivíduos presentes, com ou sem gestão. Verificou-se maior presença de espécies pirófitas (géneros Cistus e Ulex) nas parcelas ardidas, com ou sem gestão. Este estudo aponta que o fogo pode favorecer a diversidade de espécies mas não a resistência das mesmas a novos fogos. Ainda assim, a gestão da flora herbácea nas parcelas ardidas parece influenciar positivamente a composição e diversidade.

Stemodin (1) is a diterpene produced by Stemodia maritima L. (Scrophulariaceae) and shows antiviral and tumor cell proliferation inhibitory activities. Chemical modifications of 1 were performed to produce the known stemodinone (2), two new stemodinone oximes, Z (3) and E (4), and seven new oxime esters derivatives (5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11). All derivatives were evaluated for their cytotoxic activity in HL60 (promyelocytic leukemia), SNB-19 (astrocytoma), HCT-116 (colon carcinoma), and PC3 (prostate) human cancer cell lines, and L929 (healthy murine cells). Oximes 3 and 4 showed lower cytotoxic values than 1 against all cancer cell lines tested. However, esters 9 and 10 exhibited cell growth inhibition percentages higher than 1 against PC3, SNB-19, and HCT-116 cancer cell lines, ranging from 62.96 to 94.27%. Many of these values exceed that presented by doxorubicin (66.05-86.87%). All compounds showed no cytotoxic effect on healthy cells at the tested concentration of 25 µg mL-1. RESUMO O uso de reguladores de crescimento do grupo das citocininas e auxinas tem demonstrado aumentar a produtividade de algumas culturas, pois podem estar envolvidos na expressão do sexo da planta, embora pouco se saiba sobre a ação da auxina IBA e da citocinina CPPU na frutificação da abóbora, bem como a interação entre ambas, o que torna este campo de estudo promissor. Assim, o objetivo deste estudo foi induzir a frutificação em abóbora Atlas, por meio de diferentes formas de aplicação e proporções de citocinina e auxina e avaliar seus efeitos nas características físico-químicas dos frutos. Os tratamentos foram compostos por seis proporções associadas a reguladores de crescimento e duas formas de aplicação. O delineamento experimental foi em blocos casualizados com quatro repetições. Aos 72 dias após o transplante, foram realizadas análises de crescimento e qualidade dos frutos. O comportamento dos hormônios é modulado por sua concentração e local de aplicação, podendo o efeito ser benéfico ou não. As proporções 50/50% via folha e 75/25% via ovário foram as que aumentaram o crescimento e os parâmetros de qualidade dos frutos. ABSTRACT The use growth regulators from the cytokinins and auxins group has been shown to increase the productivity of certain crops, as they may be involved in the expression of plant sex, although little is known about the action of auxin IBA and cytokinin CPPU on the fruiting of squash, as well as the interaction between both, which makes this field of study promising. Thus, the objective of this study was to induce the fruiting in Atlas squash, by means of different forms of application and proportions of cytokinin and auxin and to evaluate their effects on the physical-chemical characteristics of the fruits. The treatments were composed of six proportions associated with growth regulators and of two forms of application. The experimental design was a randomized block design with four replicates. At 72 days after transplanting, growth and fruit quality analyses were performed. The behavior of the hormones is modulated by their concentration and place of application, and the effect may be beneficial or not. The proportions 50/50% via leaf and 75/25% via ovary were the ones that increased the growth and parameters of fruit quality. Resumo O objetivo deste trabalho foi estudar a fenologia de diversas cultivares de laranjeiras-doces e sua relação com os graus-dia acumulados (GDA), nas condições da Depressão Central do RS. Para isso, 25 genótipos foram avaliados por três safras consecutivas, entre 2015 e 2018, conforme a escala fenológica BBCH. O experimento foi conduzido em Coleção de Citros localizada no município de Eldorado doSul-RS, Brasil. Calcularam-se, os GDAs para cada intervalo entre os estádios fenológicos, bem como para todo o ciclo. O primeiro deles, inchamento das gemas, aconteceu concentradoentre meados de julho e início de agosto. A brotação, ainda no inverno, aumentou riscos dedanos por geadas. O pleno florescimento ocorreu entre 28 de agosto e 22 de setembro,onde as laranjeiras ‘Cabula’, ‘Rubi’, ‘Lima Verde’ e ‘Folha Murcha’ foram asprimeiras; e ‘Sanguinea’, ‘Salustiana’, ‘Midknight’ e ‘Jaffa’, as últimas. O último estádio avaliado, mudança da cor da casca dos frutos, ocorreu entre o início de abril até fins de maio, com2.306,4 a 2.619,4 GDAs, desde o início da brotação. Abstract The aim of this work was to study the phenology of several sweet orange cultivars and their relationship with the accumulated degree-day (ADD), under the conditions of the Depressão Central of Rio Grande do Sul, in Southern Brazil. For this, 25 genotypes were evaluated for three consecutive growing seasons between 2015 and 2018. The experiment was carried out in a Citrus Collection located in municipality of Eldorado do Sul, RS, Brazil. The ADD was calculated for each interval between the phenological stages, as well as for the entire cycle. The first one, swelling of the buds, was concentrated between mid-July and early August. Sprouting in winter increased the risk of frost damage. Full bloom occurred between August 28 and September 22, when the orange trees ‘Cabula’, ‘Rubi’, ‘Lima Verde’ and ‘Folha Murcha’ were the first to bloom and ‘Sanguinea’, ‘Salustiana’, ‘Midknight’ and ‘Jaffa’ the last. The last stage evaluated, the skin color change of the fruits, occurred between the beginning of April and the end of May, with 2,306.4 to 2,619.4 ADD, since the beginning of sprouting. Resumo Uma lista de peixes recentes e fósseis da Ordem Characiformes é apresentada e acredita-se que a lista esteja completa até 2022. Ao todo, 47 colaboradores verificaram e forneceram informações sobre táxons de sua especialidade. A lista está organizada em ordem alfabética por família e em seguida gênero e inclui todos os sinônimos disponíveis. De um total de 3.087 nomes de grupos de espécies e 527 nomes de grupos de gêneros, 2.334 espécies são atualmente tratadas como válidas e atribuídas a 301 gêneros e 24 famílias. Este total inclui 25 espécies fósseis, das quais 21 são incluídas em oito famílias recentes e quatro são Incertae sedis em Characiformes, mas não inclui cinco espécies baseadas em fósseis que foram incorretamente consideradas como Characiformes. O status de 79 espécies nominais permanece não resolvido. Quando há duas hipóteses concorrentes sobre a validade de um nome, uma delas é escolhida e a interpretação alternativa é fornecida na seção de comentários do nome em questão. Dados sobre distribuição geográfica são apresentados através de números que correspondem a regiões para as quais há registro de ocorrência da espécie. Abstract A checklist of recent and fossil fishes of the Order Characiformes is presented herein and believed to be complete through 2022. A total of 47 collaborators checked and provided information about their taxa of expertise. The list is arranged in alphabetical order by family and then genus and includes all available synonyms. From a total of 3,087 species group names and 527 genus group names, 2,334 species are currently treated as valid, and assigned to 301 genera and 24 families. This total includes 25 species known only from the fossil record, of which 21 are assigned to eight extant families and four are Incertae sedis in Characiformes, but does not include five species based on fossil which were wrongly treated in Characiformes. The status of 79 nominal species remains unresolved. When there are two competing hypotheses about the validity of a name, one of them is chosen and the alternate interpretation is provided in the remark section of that name. Distributional summaries are presented as numbers that correspond to areas for which there is a record of occurrence of the species. RESUMO: Efeitos fitotóxicos induzidos em plântulas de soja devido à exposição a diferentes pesticidas podem resultar em encurtamento e engrossamento de hipocótilo, atrofia na raiz principal e redução do desenvolvimento ou ausência de raízes secundárias. Este trabalho buscou validar o sistema de análise de imagens Vigor-S para caracterizar os efeitos fitotóxicos em plântulas de soja, provenientes do tratamento de sementes com diferentes produtos. Sementes de soja da cultivar BRS 284 foram submetidas a três tratamentos: fungicida ciproconazol, que resulta em encurtamento do hipocótilo; herbicida glifosato, que resulta em redução no desenvolvimento do sistema radicular; e controle (sem tratamento). O delineamento experimental consistiu em blocos ao acaso com seis repetições. A qualidade fisiológica das sementes foi avaliada por meio de testes de germinação, e o comprimento das plântulas foi medido tanto pelo método tradicional quanto pelo sistema de análise de imagens Vigor-S. Observou-se uma correlação positiva significativa ao comparar os parâmetros de comprimento das plântulas entre os métodos tradicional e Vigor-S. Concluiu-se que plântulas que apresentam sintomas de fitotoxicidade causados pela exposição ao herbicida glifosato e ao fungicida ciproconazol apresentam comprimento de plântulas reduzido. ABSTRACT: Phytotoxic effects induced in soybean seedlings by exposure to various pesticides can lead to shortened and thickened hypocotyls, taproot atrophy, and reduced development or absence of secondary roots. This study aimed to validate the Vigor-S image analysis system for characterizing phytotoxic effects on soybean seedlings resulting from seed treatment using different products. Soybean seeds of cultivar BRS 284 received three seed treatments: cyproconazole fungicide, which causes hypocotyl shortening; glyphosate herbicide, which results in reduced root system; and control (without treatment). The experiment used a randomized complete block design with six replications. Seed physiological quality was assessed by the germination test, seedling length by the traditional method and also determined by the Vigor-S system method. There was a significant positive correlation when comparing seedling length parameters between the conventional and Vigor-S methods. It was concluded that seedlings exhibiting phytotoxicity symptoms from exposure to glyphosate herbicide and cyproconazole fungicide had reduced seedling length. Resumo Objetivo i) existe diferença no grau de contaminação nas diferentes partes da bacia nos compartimentos água, sedimento e macrófitas aquáticas? e ii) os três compartimentos respondem de forma semelhante à contaminação por metais? Metódos Amostras de água, sedimento e macrófitas aquáticas (Salvinia auriculata Aubl., Pistia stratiotes L., Ludwigia helminthorrhiza (Mart.) H. Hara e Eichhornia crassipes (Mart.) Solms) foram coletadas em 10 locais de amostragem em diferentes trechos de uma bacia hidrográfica tropical. Foram determinadas as concentrações de Fe, Pb, Ni, Zn, Mn, Cr, Cu e Cd e aos resultados nós aplicamos uma Análise de Componentes Principais (ACP), separadamente para cada compartimento, para ordenar os locais de coleta. Resultados Fe e Mn mostraram maiores concentrações do que os outros metais nas plantas e no sedimento. Com exceção do Mn, a ordem dos metais foi similar na água e no sedimento. No entanto, a ACP ordenou os locais de coleta de forma diferente. Nossos resultados demonstraram que a ordenação dos locais de amostragem por concentração de metais difere entre água, sedimento e macrófitas. Abstract Aim i) is there a difference in the level of contamination in the different parts of the basin in the water, sediment and aquatic macrophytes compartments? and ii) do the three compartments respond similarly to metal contamination? Methods Samples of water, sediment and aquatic macrophytes (Salvinia auriculata Aubl., Pistia stratiotes L., Ludwigia helminthorrhiza (Mart.) H. Hara and Eichhornia crassipes (Mart.) Solms) were collected at 10 sampling sites in different stretches of a tropical hydrographic basin. We determined the metal concentrations of Fe, Pb, Ni, Zn, Mn, Cr, Cu and Cd, and to the results we applied Principal Component Analysis (PCA), separately for each compartment, to order the sampling sites. Results Fe and Mn had higher concentrations than other metals in plants and sediment. With the exception of Mn, the order of metals was similar between water and sediment. However, the PCAs ordered the sampling sites differently. Our results demonstrated that the ordering of sampling sites by metal concentrations differs among water, sediment and macrophytes. ABSTRACT The seedless table grape ‘BRS Melodia’ stands out for its pink color and the special flavor of red berries, which make for commercial classification as gourmet type grapes. Cultivation of this new table grape cultivar is expanding in the São Francisco Valley, in the Brazilian Northeast region. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of the rootstock on vigor, on yield components, and on physicochemical characteristics of ‘BRS Melodia’ grapes grown under the semi-arid tropical conditions of the São Francisco Valley. The experiment was carried out under irrigated cultivation in a commercial area in the municipality of Casa Nova, Bahia, Brazil, from 2021 to 2023. Treatments consisted of the rootstocks 101-14 MgT, IAC 313, IAC 572, IAC 766, Paulsen 1103, Ramsey, SO4, and Teleki 5C in a randomized block experimental design with four replications. There was no effect of the rootstock on the following variables: branch and leaf fresh matter, sprouting percentage, total soluble solids content (SS), titratable acidity (TA), and SS/TA ratio. ‘BRS Melodia’ grapevines had high vigor regardless of the rootstock used. The Ramsey rootstock led to reduced bud fertility compared to IAC 572 and IAC 766. As the vines advanced in age, the rootstocks IAC 572 and IAC 766 provided the highest yields and number of clusters per vine. The physicochemical characteristics of the ‘BRS Melodia’ grapes meet the standards required for commercialization on all the rootstocks used.
