RESUMO: Botulismo é causado pela ingestão de toxinas pré-fromadas produzidas por Clostridium botulinum. Este estudo descrevre um surto de botulismo tipo D em um rebanho bovino, com alta taxa de mortalidade (67%), devido ao consumo de silagem mal acondicionada. Os bovinos afetados apresentaram curso clínico hiperagudo e agudo de paralisia flácida progressiva. Cinco animais foram necropsiados e não foram visualizadas alterações macroscópicas e microscópicas. Embora a toxina não tenha sido detectada no alimento, a fonte mais provável de contaminação foi considerada a silagem armazenada inadequadamente. O diagnóstico de botulismo foi baseado nos achados clínicos, epidemiológicos e pela detecção da toxina botulínica no conteúdo intestinal de dois bovinos. O presente estudo enfatiza a morte de muitos bovinos por uma fonte incomum de toxina botulínica e a importância do manejo adequado no fornecimento de ração aos animais. ABSTRACT: Botulism is a condition caused by the ingestion of pre-formed toxins produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. This study described an outbreak of type D botulism with a high mortality rate (67%) in a cattle herd, caused by the consumption of fermented silage. The affected cattle presented with a hyperacute to acute clinical course with progressive flaccid paralysis. Five animals underwent necropsy with no significant macroscopic and microscopic alterations. A most probable source of contamination was deemed to be an inadequately stored silage; although, the toxin was not detected in the feed. The diagnosis of botulism was based on both clinical and epidemiological findings and the detection of botulinum toxin in the intestinal contents of two of the affected cattle. The present study emphasized the high number of fatally affected cattle, an unusual source of botulinum toxin and the importance of proper management of animal feed supply. Resumo Introdução As tecnologias de Inteligência Artificial (IA) têm sido capazes de analisar bases de dados de grandes dimensões e posteriormente aplicar esse conhecimento na resolução de problemas clínicos práticos. Objetivos Comparar a perceção da aplicação de AI na otorrinolaringologia, em Portugal, entre a população geral e os profissionais de saúde. Material e Métodos Foi realizado um estudo transversal com recurso a um questionário on-line anónimo e de auto-preenchimento. O questionário analisou aspetos relacionados com as áreas de aplicação da IA, nomeadamente diagnóstico, tomada de decisão clínica, procedimentos cirúrgicos e monitorização de doenças crónicas. Dos 770 participantes adultos (idade igual ou superior a 18 anos), foram excluídos 249 por apresentarem questionários com informações incompletas, sendo selecionados um total de 521. Resultados Dos participantes, 60.8% eram do sexo feminino (60,8%), 66.8% tinham entre 26 e 57 anos e 46.4% eram profissionais de saúde. As mulheres preferiram mais frequentemente um ser humano a realizar a monitorização de doenças crónicas (p = 0.024) e cirurgia com baixo risco de vida (p = 0.003). Os elementos de grupos etários mais jovens (18-25 anos) e mais velhos (>67 anos) preferiram humanos a realizarem a avaliação clínica de sinais e sintomas (p = 0.000), a tomada de decisão terapêutica (p = 0.011) e a criação de planos de reabilitação (p = 0.009). Os profissionais de saúde preferiram mais frequentemente humanos a realizar o seguimento de um tratamento (p = 0.000) ou cirurgias com risco de vida (p = 0.004), em comparação com a população geral. Conclusões Este estudo sugere que existem diferenças significativas na percepção da aplicação de IA, dependendo do sexo, da idade e da população em geral versus profissionais de saúde.

Abstract Introduction Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies have made it possible to analyze large databases and subsequently apply this knowledge to solve practical clinical problems. Objectives Compare the perception of the application of AI in otorhinolaryngology, in Portugal, between the general population and healthcare professionals. Material and Methods A cross-sectional study was carried out using an anonymous, self-completed online questionnaire. The questionnaire analyzed aspects related to the areas of application of AI, namely diagnosis, clinical decision-making, surgical procedures and monitoring of chronic diseases. Of the 770 adult participants (aged 18 years or over), 249 were excluded for submitting questionnaires with incomplete information, with a total of 521 selected. Results Of the participants, 60.8% were female (60.8%), 66.8% were between 26 and 57 years old and 46.4% were healthcare professionals. Women more often preferred a human being to monitor chronic diseases (p = 0.024) and to perform low-life-threatening surgery (p = 0.003). Participants from younger (18-25 years) and older (>67 years) age groups preferred humans to perform clinical assessment of signs and symptoms (p = 0.000), treatment decision-making (p = 0.011) and creation of rehabilitation plans (p = 0.009). Conclusions This study suggests that there are significant differences in the perception of AI application depending on gender, age, and the general population versus healthcare professionals.

RESUMO Introdução: Doenças pulmonares são comuns em pacientes com doença renal em estágio terminal (DRET), dificultando o diagnóstico diferencial com COVID-19. Este estudo descreve achados de tomografia computadorizada de tórax (TC) em pacientes com DRET em terapia renal substitutiva (TRS) hospitalizados com suspeita de COVID-19. Métodos: Indivíduos maiores de 18 anos com DRET, encaminhados ao pronto-socorro com suspeita de COVID-19 foram incluídos. Dados clínicos e epidemiológicos foram extraídos de registros eletrônicos de saúde. A TC foi classificada como típica, indeterminada, atípica, negativa. Comparamos achados tomográficos de pacientes com COVID-19 positivos e negativos. Resultados: Recrutamos 109 pacientes (62,3% COVID-19-positivos) entre março e dezembro de 2020, idade média de 60 ± 12,5 anos, 43% mulheres. A etiologia mais comum da DRET foi diabetes. Tempo médio em diálise foi 36 meses, intervalo interquartil = 12–84. A lesão pulmonar mais comum foi opacidades em vidro fosco. O padrão típico de TC foi mais comum em pacientes com COVID-19 (40 (61%) vs. 0 (0%) em pacientes sem COVID-19, p < 0,001). Sensibilidade 60,61% (40/66), especificidade 100% (40/40). Valores preditivos positivos e negativos foram 100% e 62,3%, respectivamente. ABSTRACT Introduction: Lung diseases are common in patients with end stage kidney disease (ESKD), making differential diagnosis with COVID-19 a challenge. This study describes pulmonary chest tomography (CT) findings in hospitalized ESKD patients on renal replacement therapy (RRT) with clinical suspicion of COVID-19. Methods: ESKD individuals referred to emergency department older than 18 years with clinical suspicion of COVID-19 were recruited. Epidemiological baseline clinical information was extracted from electronic health records. Pulmonary CT was classified as typical, indeterminate, atypical or negative. We then compared the CT findings of positive and negative COVID-19 patients. Results: We recruited 109 patients (62.3% COVID-19-positive) between March and December 2020, mean age 60 ± 12.5 years, 43% female. The most common etiology of ESKD was diabetes. Median time on dialysis was 36 months, interquartile range = 12–84. The most common pulmonary lesion on CT was ground glass opacities. Typical CT pattern was more common in COVID-19 patients (40 (61%) vs 0 (0%) in non-COVID-19 patients, p < 0.001). Sensitivity was 60.61% (40/66) and specificity was 100% (40/40). Positive predictive value and negative predictive value were 100% and 62.3%, respectively. Resumo Fundamento A Doença de Chagas (DC) representa um grave problema de saúde pública na América Latina. O Benznidazol (BNZ) é utilizado para o tratamento DC e, apesar do seu amplo uso, poucas informações estão disponíveis sobre sua toxicidade e mecanismos das Reações Adversas ao Medicamento (RAM). Objetivos Identificar e classificar as reações adversas clínicas e laboratoriais ocasionadas pelo uso do BNZ quanto à sua causalidade e gravidade. Métodos Estudo de coorte prospectivo realizado no período de janeiro de 2018 a dezembro de 2021. O acompanhamento do tratamento incluiu consultas e análises laboratoriais antes, 30 e 60 dias após o início do tratamento. As RAM foram classificadas quanto à causalidade e gravidade. Na análise estatística o nível de significância adotado foi p<0,05. Resultados Participaram do estudo 40 pacientes com DC crônica, observou-se alta prevalência de RAM com um total de 161 em 30 (90%) pacientes. Destas, 104 (64,6%) foram classificadas como possíveis e 57 (35,4%) como prováveis. As reações foram classificadas em moderadas e leves. Dos 40 pacientes, nove (22,5%) suspenderam o tratamento. As RAM associadas à interrupção e intervenções foram as que afetaram o sistema dermatológico, sistema nervoso central e periférico ou que culminaram em ageusia. Após 30 dias de tratamento, alterações hematológicas e bioquímicas leves foram observadas como linfopenia. Abstract Background Chagas disease (CD) is a serious public health problem in Latin America. Benznidazole (BNZ) is used for the treatment of CD and, despite its wide use, little information is available about its toxicity and mechanisms of adverse drug reactions (ADR). Objectives To identify and classify clinical and laboratory adverse reactions caused by BNZ in terms of causality and severity. Methods Prospective cohort study from January 2018 to December 2021. Treatment follow-up included visits and biochemical tests (complete blood count, liver and kidney function tests) before, during and after treatment. ADR were classified according to causality and severity. In the statistical analysis, the significance level was set at p<0.05. Results Forty patients with chronic CD were included. A high prevalence of ADR was observed 161 ADR in 30 patients [90%]; of these, 104 (64.6%) were classified as possible and 57 (35.4%) as probable. The ADR were classified as moderate and mild. Of the 40 patients, nine (22.5%) discontinued treatment. ADR associated with treatment discontinuation and interventions were those that affected the dermatological system, central and peripheral nervous system and sense organs such as ageusia. Mild hematological and biochemical changes such as lymphopenia were observed after 30 days of treatment. Conclusion Many patients were able to complete the treatment even with ADR, which can be attributed to the successful follow-up strategy with symptomatic treatment and counseling, leading to patient’s awareness of symptoms and treatment adherence. ABSTRACT Introduction: Urethral stricture is a common, albeit complex, condition that predominantly affects men. The aim of this study was to translate, culturally adapt, and validate the Patient-Reported Outcome Measure questionnaire for patients undergoing urethroplasty (USS-PROM) into Brazilian Portuguese using validated psychometric criteria. Materials and Methods: The process involved translating and culturally adapting the original USS-PROM into Brazilian Portuguese (USS-PROMbr), synthesizing, back-translating, cross-culturally adapting, and analyzing the pre-final version with experts from our committee. This pre-version was administered to 10 patients who had undergone urethroplasty by the Reconstructive Urology team at the Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre for face validation, linguistic, and semantic adjustments, resulting in the final USS-PROMbr version. Subsequently, well-established psychometric criteria, including content validity, internal consistency, and test-retest reproducibility, were assessed after administering the questionnaire to a total of 56 patients, with 50 of them responding to the test and retest. Results: Evaluation of the pre-final version identified 15 questions as clear, and only one question was considered somewhat unclear necessitating modifications based on patient suggestions and subsequent reassessment by the research team. Psychometric criteria demonstrated good content validity, with a content validity index exceeding 0.80 for all questions; good internal consistency, Cronbach's alpha of 0.77, ranging from 0.70 to 0.78 with the exclusion of any item, and item-total correlations ranging from 0.33 to 0.67. The test-retest intraclass correlation coefficient was 0.74 for the lower urinary tract symptoms construct (Q1-Q6). Resumen Varias publicaciones han reportado la presencia de triatominos en áreas urbanas de las Américas. Cuatro especies de triatominos se reportan en el municipio de Araraquara, São Paulo, Brasil: Panstrongylus megistus, Rhodnius neglectus, Triatoma infestans y T. sordida. Aunque ya se notificado a la municipalidad, presentamos el registro de invasión domiciliaria por parte de R. neglectus en el área urbana de Araraquara. Este hecho refuerza la preocupación por la urbanización de R. neglectus en el estado de São Paulo, con relatos de colonización e invasión de viviendas en diversos municipios.

Abstract Several publications have reported the occurrence of triatomines in urban areas of the Americas. Four species of triatomines are reported in the municipality of Araraquara, São Paulo, Brazil: Panstrongylus megistus, Rhodnius neglectus, Triatoma infestans, and T. sordida. Although already notified to the municipality, we present the record of household invasion by R. neglectus in urban area in the Araraquara. This occurrence reinforces the concern over urbanization by R. neglectus in the state of São Paulo, with reports of colonization and home invasion in various municipalities.

Resumo Apresentamos o caso clínico de um homem de 71 anos, com antecedentes de adenocarcinoma do reto cT3N1M0, previamente tratado com quimioterapia/radioterapia neoadjuvante e resseção anterior do reto. No seguimento imagiológico, identificou-se um novo nódulo pulmonar em crescimento no lobo superior esquerdo. Após duas biópsias deste nódulo com material insuficiente, o paciente recusa a terceira tentativa. Este nódulo é intensamente hipermetabólico na PET-TC, sugestivo de metástase. A decisão em equipa multidisciplinar foi de tratamento com termoablação por micro-ondas do nódulo pulmonar. A termoablação guiada por imagem é uma técnica no campo da Radiologia de Intervenção, que tem surgido como opção minimamente invasiva para tratamento de tumores em múltiplos órgãos, com diversas indicações e ótimos resultados. Uma boa compreensão das características imagiológicas (in)esperadas após termoablação, também apresentadas neste artigo, é crucial para uma vigilância eficaz destes doentes.

Abstract We present a clinical case of a 71-year-old man with history of rectal adenocarcinoma cT3N1M0, previously treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy/radiotherapy and anterior resection of the rectum. During imaging follow-up, a new growing pulmonary nodule was identified in the left upper lobe. After two biopsies of this nodule yielded insufficient material, the patient refused a third attempt. This nodule is intensely hypermetabolic on PET-CT, suggestive of metastasis. The decision by a multidisciplinary team was to treat the pulmonary nodule with microwave ablation. Image-guided thermal ablation is a technique in the field of Interventional Radiology that has emerged as a minimally invasive option for treating tumors in multiple organs, with various indications and excellent results. A good understanding of the (un)expected imaging characteristics after thermal ablation, also presented in this article, is crucial for effective patient surveillance and management.

Abstract Background and objective: Vestibular symptoms are among the most common medical complaints in the emergency room. Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) is one of the most frequently observed diagnoses in these patients and has a considerable personal and health care burden. Our aim is to evaluate the weekly and seasonal incidence of BPPV and study the possible relationship between the incidence of BPPV and the climate variations that occurred throughout the year 2021, in the metropolitan area of Lisbon. Material and Methods: Retrospective study of adult patients (18 years or older), diagnosed with BPPV at Centro Hospitalar Universitário Lisboa Central, between January and December 2021. Meteorological factors for the same period were collected from official data for the metropolitan area of Lisbon, namely atmospheric temperature, atmospheric pressure, humidity, cloud amount, daylight time and solar radiation. Results: A total of 178 patients were diagnosed with BPPV; 62 were male (34.8%) and 116 were female (65.2%). A seasonality pattern was found in the incidence of BPPV, with a lower number of patients diagnosed with BPPV in the summer months (p = 0.0002). There was a negative and statistically significant association between atmospheric temperature (r = -0.5215, p = 0.000063), daylight time (r = -0.4024, p = 0. 002847) and solar radiation (r = -0.4463, p = 0.000817) with the number of BPPV patients diagnosed per week. A positive and significant association was found between cloud amount and the incidence of BPPV (r = 0.537, p = 0.000034). No statistically significant association was found between atmospheric pressure (r = -0.0366, p = 0.798015) or humidity (r = 0.2525, p = 0.068707) with the incidence of BPPV. Conclusions: The incidence of BPPV decreases in the summer months, when atmospheric temperature, solar radiation and daylight time are higher and cloud amount is lower.

Resumo Introdução e Objetivos: Os sintomas vestibulares estão entre os motivos de observação mais comuns no serviço de urgência. A Vertigem Posicional Paroxística Benigna (VPPB) é um dos diagnósticos mais frequentemente observados nestes doentes e acarreta um considerável impacto nos cuidados de saúde. O nosso objetivo é avaliar a incidência semanal e sazonal da VPPB e estudar a possível relação entre a incidência da VPPB e as variações climáticas ocorridas ao longo do ano de 2021, na área metropolitana de Lisboa. Material e Métodos: Estudo retrospetivo de doentes adultos (18 anos ou mais), com diagnóstico de VPPB no Centro Hospitalar Universitário Lisboa Central, entre janeiro e dezembro de 2021. As variáveis meteorológicas para o mesmo período foram recolhidas dos dados oficiais da área metropolitana de Lisboa, nomeadamente temperatura atmosférica, pressão atmosférica, humidade, nebulosidade, número de horas diárias de sol e radiação solar. Resultados: Um total de 178 doentes foram diagnosticados com VPPB; 62 eram homens (34,8%) e 116 mulheres (65,2%). Foi encontrado um padrão sazonal na incidência de VPPB, com menor número de doentes diagnosticados com VPPB nos meses de verão (p = 0,0002). Regressão logística stepwise foi realizada para analisar a probabilidade de prenhez e fatores associados (atividade, intensidade do estro, paridade, saúde no periparto, placenta retida, descarga vaginal pós-parto e estação do ano). As maiores taxas de prenhez foram obtidas em multíparas, inseminadas 10 horas após o alarme do AAM, no outono ou inverno, com pico de atividade elevado e intensidade de estro (P < 0,05). Doenças no periparto, placenta retida e descarga vaginal pós-parto influenciaram negativamente a taxa de prenhez, independentemente da paridade. Assim, a otimização dos modelos de AAM, incluindo medidas rotineiras da fazenda como paridade, histórico de saúde no periparto e condições ambientais, podem favorecer a identificação correta do estro e melhorar o alarme do AAM em relação ao momento ideal para a IA, aumentando o desempenho reprodutivo nas vacas leiteiras. ABSTRACT: This study evaluated the probability of pregnancy and associated factors for two times artificial inseminations (AI), 8 or 10 hours after automated activity monitoring (AAM) alarm on the first postpartum AI of 1,054 Holstein dairy cows. The estrus was synchronized by prostaglandin or estradiol-progesterone program. Stepwise logistic regression was performed to analyze the probability of pregnancy, and associated factors (activity, estrus intensity, parity, peripartum health, retained placenta, postpartum vaginal discharge, and season). The highest pregnancy rates were obtained with multiparous animals, inseminated ten hours after the AAM alarm, in the fall or winter season, with a high activity peak and estrus intensity (P < 0.05). RESUMO: O abacaxi é uma fruta tropical com alta demanda pelo mercado de frutas no Brasil. Os frutos da cultivar ´Turiaçu`se destacam nos mercados consumidores locais pela excelente qualidade. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar as respostas ecofisiológicas de plantas de abacaxizeiro ´Turiaçu`nos estádios vegetativo e reprodutivo à adubação do solo e ao local de cultivo, e seus efeitos na produção de frutos. O estudo foi realizado nas cidades de São Luís e Turiaçu, MA, Brasil. Plantas sob adubação mineral e orgânica foram avaliadas durante as estações seca e chuvosa. Foram avaliados teores de clorofila, eficiência fotoquímica, trocas gasosas e produção de frutos. As plantas de abacaxi apresentaram diminuição da atividade fotossintética, em ambas as fases de desenvolvimento e em ambas as estações, quando cultivadas em São Luís. A assimilação fotossintética de CO2 diminuiu. A atividade de PSI e PSII foi mais sensível na fase reprodutiva do que na fase vegetativa. ABSTRACT: Pineapple is a tropical fruit with high demand by the fruit market in Brazil. Fruits of the cultivar ´Turiaçu` stans out in local consumer markets due to its excellent quality. The objective of this work was to evaluate ecophysiological responses of ´Turiaçu` pineapple plants at the vegetative and reproductive stages to soil fertilization and crop location, and their effects in fruit yield. The study was conducted in the cities of São Luís and Turiaçu, MA, Brazil. Plants under mineral and organic fertilization in two locations, São Luís and Turiaçu, and in two seasons, dry and rainy season, were evaluated during dry and rainy seasons. Chlorophyll index, photochemical efficiency, gas exchange, and fruit yield were evaluated. The pineapple plants presented decrease in the photosynthetic activity, at both developmental stages and in both seasons, when grown in São Luís. The CO2 photosynthetic assimilation decreased. The PSI and PSII activity, according with photosynthetic index, was more sensitive at the reproductive than at the vegetative stage. The organic fertilization was not appropriate for the ´Turiaçu` pineapple crops, regardless of the crop location. The fruit yields were 54.4% and 57.9% lower in São Luís, under mineral and organic fertilization, respectively. Thus, the ecophysiology of ´Turiaçu` pineapple was more affected by water availability than by soil fertility in the municipality of Turiaçu. RESUMO Objetivos: Descrever as características demográficas e clínicas das vítimas de trauma ocular por fogos de artifício atendidas nas emergências oftalmológicas de dois centros de referência em Pernambuco e identificar fatores relacionados a mau prognóstico visual. Métodos: Avaliação retrospectiva dos prontuários de pacientes admitidos na emergência oftalmológica com história de trauma por fogos de artifício entre janeiro de 2012 e dezembro de 2018. A coleta de dados incluiu idade, gênero, procedência, mês e ano do acidente, estruturas oculares acometidas e características das lesões, além do tipo de tratamento a que os pacientes foram submetidos. Naqueles pacientes acompanhados por mais de 30 dias, analisou-se a acuidade visual final e a associação com sua procedência. Resultados: Foram incluídos 370 olhos de 314 pacientes. Destes, 248 (79,0%) vítimas eram do sexo masculino e 160 (51,0%) da região metropolitana do Recife, com uma média de idade de 25.6 ± 18.8 anos. Em 56 (17,8%) dos casos o trauma foi bilateral. No mês de junho ocorreu um total de 152 (48,4%) casos. Os sítios mais acometidos foram pálpebras em 91 (24,6%) olhos e superfície ocular em 252 (68,1%). O tratamento cirúrgico foi necessário em 87 (23,5%) olhos. Após manejo clínico-cirúrgico, 37 (10.0%) olhos desenvolveram visão pior do que 20/400. Destes, 34 (91,9%) olhos eram de pacientes do interior do estado de Pernambuco ou de outro estado. Os pacientes provenientes do interior do estado apresentaram maior chance de desenvolver cegueira quando comparados aos que eram provenientes da região metropolitana (Odds Ratio de 5,46). ABSTRACT Purpose: This study aimed to describe the demographic and clinical characteristics of victims of fireworkrelated ocular trauma treated at the ophthalmologic emergency de partments of two reference centers in Pernambuco, Brazil, and to identify risk factors related to poor visual prognosis. Methods: We retrospectively evaluated the medical records of patients admitted in emergency departments with a report of firework-related trauma between January 2012 and December 2018. Data collected included patient’s age, sex, place of origin, month and year of the accident, ocular structures affected, characteristics of the injuries, and type of treatment that patients received. For patients who were followed for >30 days, the final visual acuity and patient’s origin were analyzed. Results: Three hundred and seventy eyes from 314 patients were included, of which 248 (79.0%) were male and 160 (51.0%) were from the metropolitan region of Recife. The mean patient age was 25.6 ± 18.8 years. In 56 (17.8%) patients, the ocular trauma was bilateral. A total of 152 (48.4%) cases occurred in June. The most affected sites were the eyelids in 91 (24.6%) eyes and ocular surface in 252 (68.1%). Surgical treatment was required in 87 (23.5%) eyes. After clinical and surgical management, 37 (10.0%) eyes presented final visual acuity of <20/400. Of these, 34 (91.9%) eyes were from patients from the countryside or from another state. Patients from the countryside presented higher risk of developing blindness after a firework trauma than those from the metropolitan area (odds ratio of 5.46). An experience report that aims to present the systematization of care for the management of psychic crises developed by the SAMU-DF Mental Health Center. The methodology, based on the steps of the Maguerez’s Arch, allowed both the identification of professionals’ difficulties regarding psychic crises management and the construction of the system called “Psychosocial Care Circuit’’ to guide the assistance of the mobile pre-hospital care. The Circuit has as mnemonic AEIOU, and each letter corresponds to an element evaluated as necessary for the psychic crisis intervention. Therefore, it is possible to affirm that the permanent education in health enables the transformative action of professionals, in addition to transforming the reality in which they are inserted, and that the systematization has accelerated the consolidation of the necessary skills for psychic crises care.

Um relato de experiência que visa apresentar a sistematização de atendimento para o manejo de crises psíquicas desenvolvida pelo Núcleo de Saúde Mental do Samu-DF. A metodologia, fundamentada nos passos do arco de Maguerez, permitiu desde a identificação das dificuldades dos profissionais no manejo das crises psíquicas até a construção da sistematização denominada “Circuito de Cuidados Psicossociais” para orientar a assistência no serviço pré-hospitalar móvel. O circuito tem como mnemônico “AEIOU”, e cada letra corresponde a um elemento avaliado como necessário na intervenção de crise psíquica. Assim, é possível afirmar que a Educação Permanente em Saúde possibilita uma ação transformadora dos profissionais e da realidade na qual estão inseridos, e a sistematização tem acelerado a consolidação das habilidades necessárias ao atendimento das crises psíquicas.

La metodología, fundamentada en los pasos del arco de Maguerez, permitió desde la identificación de las dificultades de los profesionales en el manejo de las crisis psíquicas hasta la construcción de la sistematización denominada “Circuito de Cuidados Psicosociales” para orientar la asistencia en el servicio pre-hospitalario móvil. El circuito tiene como iniciales mnemónicas “AEIOU” y cada letra corresponde a un elemento evaluado como necesario en la intervención de crisis psíquica. De tal forma, es posible afirmar que la educación permanente en salud posibilita una acción transformadora de los profesionales y de la realidad en la cual están inseridos y que la sistematización ha acelerado la consolidación de las habilidades necesarias para la atención de las crisis psíquicas.

ABSTRACT The COVID-19 pandemic required the reorganization of PHC Units (UBS) to ensure greater laboratory diagnostic capacity timely, which demanded trained health professionals, availability of inputs/materials, and adequate sample management strategies at the Central Laboratory (LACEN). In 2020-2021, an analytical cross-sectional census study evaluated the UBS structure in the Federal District (DF). Data were collected remotely through structured telephone interviews and a self-completed questionnaire. Statistical analysis was carried out in Software R, comparing UBS-Sentinel with UBS-Traditional units. Nurse training in rapid testing or swab sample collection was almost universal (> 99%) and high among nursing technicians (70%). On the other hand, only 9% of doctors received any training. A defined flow was registered to forward samples to LACEN in 89% of UBS to diagnose SARS-CoV-2. The deadlines for returning laboratory results were met in 70% of cases. Inputs, materials, and equipment were available in sufficient amounts, especially at UBS-Sentinel units. In these UBS, 63% of the teams knew the MA-LACEN-0007 collection manual, compared to 35% at UBS-Traditional units (p < 0.001). Despite the challenges, the DF showed a satisfactory response capacity regarding the COVID-19 laboratory diagnosis.

RESUMO A pandemia de covid-19 exigiu reorganização das Unidades Básicas de Saúde (UBS) para garantir maior capacidade diagnóstica laboratorial em tempo oportuno, o que requereu profissionais de saúde capacitados, disponibilidade de insumos/materiais e estratégias adequadas de manejo das amostras no Laboratório Central (Lacen). Em 2020-2021, a estrutura das UBS do Distrito Federal (DF) foi avaliada por meio de estudo transversal analítico, censitário. A coleta de dados, remota, ocorreu por entrevista telefônica estruturada e questionário de autopreenchimento. Fez-se análise estatística no software R, comparando UBS-Sentinela com UBS-Tradicional. A capacitação no teste rápido e/ou na coleta da amostra por swab entre enfermeiros foi quase universal (> 99%), e entre técnicos de enfermagem, foi alta (70%); por outro lado somente 9% dos médicos receberam alguma capacitação. Registrou-se fluxo definido para encaminhar amostras para o Lacen em 89% das UBS, visando diagnosticar o Sars-CoV-2; os prazos de retorno dos resultados laboratoriais foram cumpridos em 70% dos casos. Insumos, materiais e equipamentos estavam disponíveis em quantidades suficientes, sobretudo nas UBS-Sentinela. Nestas, 63% das equipes conheciam o manual de coleta MA-LACEN-0007, comparado com 35% das equipes na UBS-Tradicional (p < 0,001). Apesar dos desafios, o DF apresentou capacidade de resposta satisfatória quanto ao diagnóstico laboratorial de covid-19.

Abstract The present study aimed to investigate the association between racial iniquities and oral health status. This is a systematic review with a protocol registered on the Prospero Platform (CRD42021228417), with searches carried out in electronic databases and in gray literature. Our study identified 3,028 publications. After applying the eligibility criteria and risk of bias analysis, 18 studies were selected. The results indicate that individuals of black/brown race/skin color have unfavorable oral health conditions, mainly represented by self-rated oral health, tooth loss, caries, and periodontitis. The results showed racial iniquities in oral health in different countries, for all analyzed indicators, with a greater vulnerability of the black population.

Resumo O objetivo deste estudo é investigar a associação entre iniquidades raciais e condição de saúde bucal. Trata-se de revisão sistemática com protocolo cadastrado na plataforma prospero (CRD42021228417), com buscas realizadas em bases de dados eletrônicas e na literatura cinzenta. Identificou-se 3.028 publicações e após aplicação dos critérios de elegibilidade e análise do risco de vieses, 18 estudos foram selecionados. Os resultados indicam que indivíduos de raça/cor da pele preta/parda apresentam condições de saúde bucal desfavorável, representada principalmente pela autoavaliação de saúde bucal, perda dentária, cárie e periodontite. Os resultados evidenciaram iniquidades raciais em saúde bucal em diferentes países, para todos os indicadores analisados, com maior vulnerabilidade da população negra.

This paper presents the development of a laboratory with a low-energy, mobile current waveform impulse generator. It allows for conducting aging tests by applying discharges to low-voltage zinc oxide surge arresters used in the energy distribution sector.
