How do we become “us”? How do we become “them”? How do some become “us” and others “them”? The objective of this text is to reflect on moralities and differences, based on a specific case of abuse on social media, closely followed by the authors, in which the notion of “identitarianism” gained particular relevance in the accusation and disqualification of a solidly produced work. Our perception is that accusations of this nature have been frequent in environments that are sometimes more and sometimes less public and are often directed against academic productions that mobilize notions such as intersectionality and social markers of difference and, more than that, embody these references and align themselves with a intellectual and political agenda for the production of justice and equity. We argue that these references themselves are good guides for understanding this scenario, in which the unnamed assumption of hegemonic identities causes the othering of those of us who have always been “Other”.

Como nos tornamos “nós”? Como nos tornamos “eles”? Como alguns se tornam “nós” e outros “eles”? O objetivo deste texto é refletir sobre moralidades e diferença, a partir de um caso específico de escracho nas redes sociais, acompanhado intensamente pelas autoras e autor, no qual a noção de “identitarismo” ganhou particular relevância na acusação e desqualificação de um trabalho solidamente produzido. Nossa percepção é que acusações desse feitio têm sido frequentes em ambientes ora mais, ora menos públicos e não raro se voltam contra produções acadêmicas que mobilizam noções como interseccionalidade e marcadores sociais da diferença e, mais que isso, corporificam esses referenciais e se alinham a uma agenda intelectual e política de produção de justiça e equidade. Argumentamos que esses próprios referenciais são boas balizas para o entendimento desse cenário, no qual a assunção não nomeada de identidades hegemônicas agencia a alterização daquelas de nós que sempre foram “Outro”.

Resumo O objetivo dessa reflexão é chamar atenção para o efeito que as transformações políticas recentes têm produzido na subjetividade das pessoas: trata-se de observar pistas sobre como esses acontecimentos se inscrevem nas relações cotidianas. Procuraremos uma aproximação tanto daqueles que vêm se sentido atingidas ou vulneráveis diante da escalada dos discursos e das práticas de violência sexista, racista, homofóbica e de classe como dos que de algum modo aderiram ao discurso conservador e excludente. São os sujeitos, muitos dos quais devastados, que em seus esforços, espantos e negociações nos interessam e não os eventos aos quais nos referimos diretamente. Como será possível notar, a categoria “sofrimento” se mostra central nesse debate.

Abstract The purpose of this reflection is to draw attention to the effects that recent political transformations have produced on people's subjectivity by observing clues to how these events are inscribed in daily relations. We approach both those who feel affected by or vulnerable to escalating discourses and practices of sexist, racist, homophobic and class violence, and others who have in some way adhered to conservative and exclusionary discourse. We are directly interested in the subjects, many of whom are devastated, who in their efforts, amazement, and negotiations interest us, not specifically the events to which we refer. As will be noted, the category “suffering” is central to this debate.

Resumo: Em 09 de março de 2015 centenas de estudantes iniciaram um movimento na prestigiosa University of Cape Town (UCT) para a retirada da estátua de Cecil Rhodes, representante do colonialismo inglês no século XIX, do campus. Nesse mesmo ano, em novembro, estudantes da Princeton University ocuparam a reitoria exigindo que fosse removido de um dos prédios do campus o nome de Woodrow Wilson, defensor da segregação dos negros no sul dos Estados Unidos. Em maio desse ano, a Universidade Federal de Goiás (UFG) foi a primeira universidade do país a implementar reserva de vagas para indígenas, afrodescendentes e deficientes em cursos de pós-graduação. O objetivo deste artigo é compreender e analisar a força desses fenômenos, que são entendidos nessa reflexão como demandas decoloniais com dimensões global e local.

Abstract: On March 9, 2015 hundreds of students began a movement at the prestigious University of Cape Town (UCT) for the campus retreat of the statue of Cecil Rhodes, representative of English colonialism in the nineteenth century. That same year, in November, Princeton University students occupied the rectory demanding that the name of Woodrow Wilson, a defender of black segregation in the southern US, was removed from one of the campus buildings. In May of that year, the Federal University of Goiás (UFG) was the first university to implement vacancies reserved for indigenous, afro-descendants and disabled people in postgraduate courses. The objective of this article is to understand and analyze the strength of these phenomena, which are understood in this reflection as decolonial demands with global and local dimensions.

Resumo: Neste artigo são alinhavados olhares das mulheres do eixo Sul-Sul, suas aproximações e distanciamentos, a partir de categorias de análise que têm como marco a soberania e a Segurança Alimentar e Nutricional (SAN). Argumenta-se nessa reflexão acerca da importância da análise de gênero em perspectiva interseccional em dois cenários diversos. O primeiro cenário é a partir do ponto de vista das mukheristas, nome pelo qual são chamadas as mulheres moçambicanas que fazem o comércio entre Maputo (Moçambique) e Johannesburg (África do Sul). O segundo cenário é constituído pelas mulheres da aldeia Cinta Vermelha-Jundiba, que vivem na região do semiárido, no Vale do Jequitinhonha, no Brasil. Observar-se-á como, a partir de panos moçambicanos e sementes brasileiras, essas mulheres trançam suas sobrevivências.

Abstract: In this article, we look at the South-South axis women, their approaches and distances, based on categories of analysis that have as a sovereignty and food and nutritional security. We defend the importance of an intersectional analysis both from the point of view of the Mukheristas, the way women who trade between Maputo, (Mozambique) and Johannesburg (South Africa) are called and from the perspective of women from the Cinta Vermelha-Jundiba village, living in the semiarid region of the Jequitinhonha Valley in Brazil. It will be observed how by trading clothesin the case of the Mozambican women andseeds for the Brazilians, these women braid their survival.

Abstract Purpose: To evaluate clinically dogs that underwent tibial tuberosity advancement (TTA) six months previously. Methods: Dogs of various breeds, gender, weight, and age that had CCL rupture and underwent TTA for treatment were included in this study. Parapatellar arthrotomy was performed in all patients to assess the joint for a ruptured ligament and meniscal injury before the TTA. The appropriate cage for the TTA was chosen with planning surgery. The surgical procedure was performed according to the literature, using a modified Maquet technique. Six months after surgery, lameness during walking; muscular atrophy; crepitation, cranial drawer and tibial compression tests and quality of life based on owner’s evaluation were assessed. Results: Postoperative complications were observed in only one knee (4.76%), with a surgical site seroma. The mean lameness score at walking was 0.29 (± 0.64). The mean score regarding muscular atrophy was 0.95 (± 1.56). The mean score of the cranial drawer test, in a range from 0 to 5, was 1.52 (± 1.54). The owners rated the dog’s quality of life as excellent in 44%, good in 30%, and moderate in 17%. Conclusion: This clinical study supports the affirmation that patients who undergo TTA for treatment of CCL rupture have an acceptable response.

Muitas das recentes reflexões acerca da produção da diferença e da análise da desigualdade social vêm investindo na articulação entre os chamados "marcadores sociais da diferença". Nesse amplo cenário que envolve os debates acerca dos direitos diferenciados e das políticas de reconhecimento, da produção de novas sensibilidades e da concomitante ressemantização de antigas formas de exclusão, a intersecção entre raça, nação, sexualidade e gênero ganha destaque. O objetivo deste artigo é refletir sobre a forma como um certo conjunto de marcadores da diferença vem sendo agenciado em reflexões acadêmicas e políticas recentes. Mais especificamente, este artigo irá focar três eixos: 1) o da (re)construção dos Estados nacionais e de certas representações de nação; 2) o campo dos direitos humanos: da regulação à construção de sujeitos de direitos; e 3) o das identidades subjetivas, do espaço de agência, do cuidado de si e da inserção em novas ou renovadas redes de sociabilidade.

Many of the recent reflections on the production of difference and analysis of social inequality have been putting forth the articulation between the so called "social markers of difference". In this broad field - that involves debates on differential rights, acknowledgement policies, the production of new sensibilities, and at the same time the reformulation of past forms of exclusion - the intersection between race, nation, sexuality and gender is high lightened. The aim of this article is to reflect on the ways a set of markers of difference have been used in academic debates and recent policies. More specifically, the article will focus on three axes: 1) the rebuilding of the national States and of certain national representations; 2) the field of human rights: from the regulation to the construction of the subject of rights; 3) the subjective identities, the room for agency, the care of the self and the new or renewed networks of sociability.

O objetivo deste artigo é refletir sobre um conjunto de questões relativas ao racismo, à sexualidade e ao contato intercultural na África do Sul, mais especificamente em Cape Town. Esta cidade, que já foi reconhecida como democrática, com expressiva população coloured e gay friendly se apresenta atualmente como uma das mais desiguais da África do Sul pós- apartheid. Percorremos trajetórias de homens e mulheres homo e heterossexuais, de diferentes raças e regiões, no sentido de abrir a escuta para suas experiências, dar inteligibilidade a seus campos de negociação e qualificar formas ressemantizadas de exclusão. Objetiva-se analisar uma nova e relativamente recente sensibilidade social advinda com a "rainbow"nation" - a experiência de mistura em sua articulação com marcadores sociais da diferença.

The goal of this article is to reflect upon a series of questions concerning racism, sexuality and intercultural contact in South Africa and, specifically, Cape Town. The city, once acclaimed as democratic, with an expressive colored and gay-friendly population, has recently been (re)presented as one of the most unequal cities of post-apartheid South Africa. Here, we follow the life trajectories of some men and women, both homo- and heterosexual, of different races and regions, listening to their experiences in order to reveal their fields of negotiation and to thus qualify some re-signified forms of exclusion. Specifically, our objective is to analyze a new and relatively recent social sensibility arising within the "rainbow nation" (the experience of admixture in intersectionality with distinct social difference markers) that does not necessarily imply sexual-affective inter-racial dating.
