RESUMO Os brejos de altitude nordestinos são áreas que apresentam microclimas dissociantes do contexto onde estão inseridos, suas formações florestais são disjunções de floresta atlântica, ilhadas pela vegetação da Caatinga, condição que torna essas áreas remanescentes de elevada biodiversidade. Pesquisas botânicas nos remanescentes florestais da Paraíba, particularmente no que se refere ao resgate de germoplasma são relevantes. Objetivou-se estudar a ecofisiologia das sementes de espécies (Anadenanthera colubrina, Pterogyne nitens, Enterolobium contortisiliquum e Senegalia tenuifolia) nativas da família Fabaceae selecionadas no fragmento florestal do CCHSA submetidas a estresse térmico e monitorar as fenofases reprodutivas das espécies estudadas. O experimento foi instalado no Laboratório de Sementes do CCHSA/UFPB e conduzido em germinadores tipo B.O.D. com fotoperíodo de 8 horas em delineamento inteiramente casualizado nas temperaturas (20, 25, 30 e 40°C constantes). As sementes foram distribuídas sobre papel-toalha umedecido com água destilada equivalente a três vezes o peso do papel seco. Foram utilizadas quatro repetições de 25 sementes por tratamento. Os dados de germinação e Índice de Velocidade de Germinação (IVG) foram submetidos à análise de variância e regressão polinomial. A germinação de sementes de Pterogyne nitens Tul. foi afetada pelas temperaturas a que foram submetidas, a faixa de temperatura com maiores porcentuais de germinação foi entre 25 e 40ºC. A temperatura elevada (40ºC) aumentou acentuadamente a germinação e o vigor das sementes de Senegalia tenuifolia L. Britton e Rose. O maior IVG da espécie Enterolobium contortisiliquum (Vell.) foi obtido na temperatura de 40ºC. Os resultados indicam a temperatura ótima e a amplitude térmica para a germinação e desenvolvimento inicial das plântulas dos táxons estudados no seu habitat.

ABSTRACT The altitude swamps in northeast Brazil are areas with divergent microclimates from the context that theyare located, their forest formations are disjunctions of the Atlantic Forest, marooned by the ‘Caatinga’vegetation, a condition that makes these remaining areas with high biodiversity. Botanical research in remnants forests of Paraíba state, particularly with regard to the redemption of germplasm, are relevant. The aim of this study was to evaluate the ecophysiology of seeds from native species of the Fabaceae family selected in the CCHSA forest fragment, submitted to thermal stress and monitor their reproductive phenophases. The experiment was conducted at the Seed Laboratory of the CCHSA/UFPB and with the aid of B.O.D germinators, with 8 hours of photoperiod in a randomized experiment design with constant temperatures of 20, 25, 30 and 40°C. The seeds were distributed on a paper towel moistened with distilled water equivalent to three times the weight of the dry paper. Four replicates of 25 seeds were used per treatment. Data of germination and Germination Speed Index (GSI) were submitted to analysis of variance and polynomial regression. The germination of Pterogyne nitens Tul. was affected by the studied temperatures and the temperature range that promoted higher germination percentage between 25 and 40°C. The higher temperature (40°C) markedly increased the germination and vigor of Senegalia tenuifolia L. Britton and Rose. The higher GSI was observed for Enterolobium contortisiliquum (Vell.) with the use of 40°C of temperature. The results can indicate the optimum temperature and range temperature for germination and early seedling development of the species studied in its habitat.

RESUMO As cactáceas nativas ainda constituem um grupo de plantas que necessita de estudos sobre sua ocorrência, distribuição e dinâmica para subsidiar ações de manejo e conservação da família na região de inserção. O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar a estrutura e distribuição espacial de Cereus jamacaru DC. em uma mata de cipó (município de Campina Grande) e em uma caatinga arbórea (município de Monteiro) no semiárido da Paraíba, Brasil. Foram plotadas 100 parcelas com dimensões de 10 m x 10 m em cada área. Dentro das parcelas, todos os indivíduos foram etiquetados e mensurados na circunferência da base do caule com auxílio de uma fita métrica e a altura total com auxílio de tubos de PVC graduados. A estrutura espacial das populações foi obtida pela coleta da coordenada geográfica de cada indivíduo em cada área e expressa por meio de mapas de distribuição espacial. Foram amostrados 39 espécimes em Campina Grande, apresentando área basal (AB) de 0,69 m2, densidade absoluta (DA) de 39 ind. ha-1, frequência absoluta (FA) de 32% e tendência ao agrupamento (IGA=1,01). Em Monteiro, foram amostrados 38 indivíduos, AB = 0,47 m2, DA = 38 ind. ha-1, FA = 29% e tendência ao agrupamento (IGA=1,11). Os indivíduos de C. jamacaru apresentam padrão de distribuição agrupado em ambas as caatingas secundárias, sendo que a população de Monteiro enfrenta problemas de recrutamento, o que poderá implicar no insucesso reprodutivo da população futura. A espécie apresenta padrão de distribuição similar a outras cactáceas colunares.

ABSTRACT The native cacti still constitute a group of plants that require data in relation to its occurrence, distribution and dynamics with vegetation to subsidize management and conservation of families in the region. The aim of the study was to analyze the structure and the spatial distribution of Cereus jamacaru in a hypoxerophytic caatinga (In Campina Grande) and in a hyperxerophilic caatinga (In Monteiro) areas of semiarid of Paraíba state, Brazil. It had been plotted 200 parcels with 10mx10m in the municipalities of Campina Grande and Monteiro, PB state. In each parcel, all the individuals were sampled and labeled by measuring with the aid of tape measuring the base circumference of each specimen and height was earned with graduates PVC pipes. For evaluation of spatial structure, we obtained coordinates of each individuals, then, the maps of spatial distribution was produced. Thirty-nine 39 specimens were sampled in Campina Grande, showing basal area (BA) of 0.69 m2, absolute density (AD) of 39 ind. ha-1, the absolute frequency (AF) of 32% and a tendency to cluster (IGA = 1,01). In Monteiro, 38 individuals were sampled, AB = 0.47 m2, AD = 38 ind. ha-1, AF = 29% and a tendency to cluster (IGA = 1,11). The specimens of Cereus jamacaru showed clustering distribution pattern in the areas of secondary Caatinga, being that Monteiro's population faces recruitment problems. Thus, it could imply in reproductive unsuccessful population future. The species shows similar distribution pattern in relation to other columnar cacti.
