The recycle and utilization of expired drugs is a challenge for many countries at present. The employment of expired drugs as green corrosion inhibitors is expected to address both drug recycling and corrosion prevention issues, with significant economic and environmental value. Herein, the individually and combination corrosion inhibition performance of expired amoxicillin (AMC) and penicillin V potassium tablets (PVP) for lowcarbon steel in 20% acetic acid solution containing 600 mg L-1 chloride ion are evaluated by electrochemistry and weight loss method. Both the AMC and PVP present the mixed-type corrosion inhibitors mainly affect the cathode process when used individually. The optimum inhibition efficiency is 61.22% (AMC) and 79.21% (PVP), which all appear in 5.0 × 10-3 mol L-1. The AMC and PVP are adsorbed on the steel surface by mixed physisorption and chemisorption, which are consistent with the Langmuir adsorption isotherm. The corrosion inhibition rate drops sharply when AMC and PVP are combined use with a close mole ratio. But a small amount of PVP significantly enhance the corrosion inhibition effect of AMC, the corrosion inhibition rate from 61.22 to 79.72%. ABSTRACT Introduction: We aim to compare the safety and effectiveness of the KangDuo (KD)-Surgical Robot-01 (KD-SR-01) system and the da Vinci (DV) system for robot-assisted radical nephroureterectomy (RARNU). Materials and Methods: This multicenter prospective randomized controlled trial was conducted between March 2022 and September 2023. Group 1 included 29 patients undergoing KD-RARNU. Group 2 included 29 patients undergoing DV-RARNU. Patient demographic and clinical characteristics, perioperative data, and follow-up outcomes were collected prospectively and compared between the two groups. Results: There were no significant differences in patient baseline demographic and preoperative characteristics between the two groups. The success rates in both groups were 100% without conversion to open or laparoscopic surgery or positive surgical margins. Abstract Background The treatment for atopic dermatitis (AD) has been the focus of clinical research, and behavioral intervention is considered an indispensable treatment method. To our knowledge, no relevant meta-analysis has evaluated the effects of behavioral interventions on atopic dermatitis. Objectives To evaluate the effects of behavioral interventions on atopic dermatitis. Methods The authors searched PubMed, EMBASE, and Cochrane CENTRAL to retrieve relevant RCTs (up to Feb 2022). The search strategy involved a combination of related keywords. The Cochrane Q and I2 statistics were used to assess heterogeneity. Results Six RCTs involving seven reports with 246 patients were included. The results suggested that behavioral interventions could relieve eczema severity (correlation coefficient [r = −0.39]; p < 0.001) and scratching severity significantly (r = −0.19; p = 0.017), while not affect itching intensity (r = −0.02; p = 0.840). A sensitivity analysis confirmed the robustness of the results. Study limitations An important limitation of this study was the insufficient number of RCTs and the limited sample size. In addition, the study lacked a control group receiving a type of intervention other than the experimental protocol. Another limitation was the short duration of follow-up. Conclusions This study suggests that behavioral interventions could be effective in treating atopic dermatitis by reducing eczema and scratching severity. This study aimed to analyze the safety and applicability of a 90-min duration of infusion (SDI) of obinutuzumab in patients with B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) in a tertiary hospital in China. This exploratory clinical trial was performed at Jiangsu Province Hospital. All patients were treated with the standard infusion regimen for the first infusion. If no grade ≥3 infusion-related reactions (IRRs) occurred, the subsequent infusions were given as SDI. The primary endpoint was the incidence of IRR during the standard infusion (3-4 h) and 90-min SDI regimens. This study enrolled 208 patients and all completed cycle 1. Forty-one patients (19.71%) had IRRs: five (2.40%) with grade 1, twenty-eight (13.46%) with grade 2, and eight (3.85%) with grade 3. The 41 patients had 71 IRRs, mainly fever (40.85%), chest pain/tightness (12.68%), and dyspnea (9.86%). The occurrence of IRRs in the first infusion was significantly lower in patients who received oral acetaminophen prophylaxis than those who did not (10.72% vs 30.21%, P<0.001). Abstract NCED1 (9-cis-epoxy carotenoid dioxygenase) plays important roles in controlling ABA levels and drought stress tolerance. The relationships between sequence polymorphisms of the TaNCED1 gene and drought resistance in wheat were analysed. Four allelic variations of the TaNCED1-5B generated to drought resistance were identified. Four groups of KASP (kompetitive allele-specific PCR) markers were developed based on the four alleles and were verified in a natural population of 311 wheat cultivars. The distribution of the four alleles of TaNCED1-5B in the natural population was clarified. Among the allelic variations, 84.62% of the wheat varieties with TT/-/C/-,TT/C/C/-,TT/-/C/G or TT/C/C/G haplotypes were dryland cultivars. The common feature of the above four haplotypes is that they all contain the TT (98) and C (343) alleles at the TaNCED1-5B-TT/CG (98) and TaNCED1-5B-C/T (343) loci, which indicated that these two locis had highly positive correlation with drought resistance in wheat. Abstract In urban combat, sub-millimeter inert metal powder is used to replace fragments in explosive bombs, which can effectively reduce collateral damage. In order to investigate the damage effect of high-speed metal particles on the human body, a particle ring filled with a charge was designed to create an explosion-driven particle cloud for the penetration ballistic gelatin. The particle ring was made of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and sub-millimeter tungsten powder. The dispersion properties of the particle cloud driven by the explosion were studied with high-speed photography and ballistic gelatin. Furthermore, the numerical simulation models of particle-penetrating gelatin based on the experimental results were established with the finite element method. The influences of the particle size and velocity on the penetration depth and cavity diameter was obtained. ABSTRACT Objectives: The aims of the present study were to compare the long-term outcomes for ascending aortic dilatation and adverse aortic events after isolated aortic valve replacement between patients with bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) and tricuspid aortic valve ( TAV). Methods: This retrospective study included 310 patients who had undergone isolated aortic valve replacement with an ascending aorta diameter ≤ 45 mm between January 2010 and September 2021. The patients were divided into BAV group (n=90) and TAV group (n=220). The differences in the dilation rate of the ascending aorta and long-term outcomes were analyzed. Results: Overall survival was 89 ± 4% in the BAV group vs. 75 ± 6% in the TAV group at 10 years postoperatively (P=0.007), yet this difference disappeared after adjusting exclusively for age (P=0.343). The mean annual growth rate of the ascending aorta was similar between the two groups during follow-up (0.5 ± 0.6 mm/year vs. 0.4 ± 0.5 mm/year; P=0.498). Ten-year freedom from adverse aortic events was 98.1% in the BAV group vs. 95.0% in the TAV group (P=0.636). Multivariable analysis revealed preoperative ascending aorta diameter to be a significant predictor of adverse aortic events (hazard ratio: 1.76; 95% confidence interval: 1.33 to 2.38; P<0.001). Conclusion: Our study revealed that the long-term survival and the risks of adverse aortic events between BAV and TAV patients were similar after isolated aortic valve replacement. ABSTRACT Banana stalk production for fiber is an important crop activity in southern China. The fiber extraction technology used has a great impact on the effectiveness and quality of the fiber from banana stalks. A mechanical model of the process for banana stalk fiber extraction was developed through theoretical analysis. The existing problems of machines for banana stalk fiber extraction include high rates of fiber impurity and damaged fibers. A 3-factor 3-horizon orthogonal rotation combination test was established. The rates of fiber impurity and damaged fibers were the evaluation indices. The significant order of the factors determining the rate of fiber impurity, from largest to smallest, was the gap between the scraper and the holding plate, the number of scrapers, and the rotational speed of the scraping knives roller. ABSTRACT: Bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) can cause acute and persistent infections in cattle, resulting in significant economic losses to the livestock industry each year. Targeted antiviral therapy is an effective strategy. This study was based on network pharmacology, molecular docking techniques and in vitro studies to investigate quercetin’s mechanism in treating bovine viral diarrhea/mucosal disease (BVD-MD). The network topology analysis was carried out using Cytoscape 3.9.0 software to construct the network of “Chinese medicine ingredients-target-diseases”. Protein interactions were explored and analyzed using the String system (PPI). GO and KEGG pathway analysis of the intersected targets was performed using Bioconductor software. The molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulation methods were used to reveal the degree of binding of quercetin to key target genes. Western blot and indirect immunofluorescence were used to characterize the antiviral effects of quercetin. This study utilized network pharmacological analysis, identifying 22 targets associated with BVD-MD. The results of the KEGG pathway showed that quercetin was closely related to Ras and MAPK signaling pathways of BVD-MD. Molecular docking results showed that SRC, NS5B, NOX4 and XDH were the key targets of quercetin in the treatment of BVD-MD. Through network pharmacology, molecular docking and in vitro experiments, quercetin was demonstrated to combat bovine viral diarrhea mucosal disease through key targets of SRC, MAPK1, GSK3B, NS5B and E2. Molecular dynamics analysis showed that quercetin exhibited complex stability with NS5B. Abstract Background: Patients with Hematological Malignancies (HM) are at a high risk of mortality from Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The available antivirals were different between China and other countries. In China, azvu-dine was obtained for emergency use to treat adult COVID-19 patients with moderate symptoms in July 2022. While nirmatrelvir-ritonavir was well-known and used in many countries. The purpose of the present study was to assess whether there was any difference in the efficacy and safety of the two drugs. Methods: This study was a prospective observational study of patients with HM who developed COVID-19. Patients were divided into three treatment groups: nirmatrelvir-ritonavir, azvudine, and observation. Treatment outcomes, first nucleic acid test negative time, hospitalization time, and the conversion rate of mild or moderate disease to severe disease were recorded. Results: First nucleic acid test negative time (23.5 days vs. 34 days, p = 0.015), hospitalization time (p = 0.015), and conversion rate (31.8 % vs. 8 %, p = 0.046) were statistically different between the nirmatrelvir-ritonavir and observation groups. Resumo Fundamento A hipertrofia cardíaca patológica (HC) sustentada é um fator de risco independente para aumento da incidência e mortalidade de eventos cardiovasculares. Objetivos Esta pesquisa foi projetada para desvendar o papel do RNA não codificante longo (LncRNA) CCAT2 na progressão da HC. Métodos Procedimentos de constrição aórtica transversal (TAC) foram conduzidos para construir um modelo de HC in vivo induzido por sobrecarga de pressão. O tratamento com angiotensina II (Ang II) foi utilizado para induzir células hipertróficas de cardiomiócitos de rato H9c2. Resultados Os resultados in vivo mostraram que o silenciamento de CCAT2 reduziu a área de superfície dos cardiomiócitos, aliviou a fibrose cardíaca e diminuiu os níveis de β-MHC, ANP e BNP em modelos de camundongos HC. Abstract Background Sustained pathological cardiac hypertrophy (CH) is an independent risk factor for increased incidence and mortality of cardiovascular events. Objectives This research was designed to unravel the role of long non-coding RNA (LncRNA) CCAT2 in CH progression. Methods Transverse aortic constriction (TAC) procedures were conducted to construct a pressure overload-induced in vivo CH model. Angiotensin II (Ang II) treatment was utilized to induce hypertrophic rat cardiomyocyte H9c2 cells. Results In vivo results showed that silencing of CCAT2 reduced cardiomyocyte surface area, alleviated cardiac fibrosis, and decreased β-MHC, ANP, and BNP levels in CH mouse models. In vitro results revealed that CCAT2 knockdown reduced cell surface area and attenuated β-MHC, ANP, and BNP levels in hypertrophic H9c2 cells. Besides, CCAT2 silencing decreased the levels of active β-catenin, phosphorylated-GSK-3β, and Wnt target genes (c-Myc, cyclinD1, and c-Jun) in CH mice and hypertrophic H9c2 cells. Importantly, treatment with the Wnt/β-catenin pathway activator LiCl reversed the suppression of CCAT2 knockdown on H9c2 cell surface area and MHC, ANP, and BNP levels. RESUMO A peneira de separação de duas ordens original tem uma boa capacidade de separação batata-solo, mas causa danos significativos às batatas ao mesmo tempo em que garante uma alta taxa de evidência de batatas, o que, por sua vez, afeta a eficácia do trabalho da escavadeira de batatas. ABSTRACT The original two-order separating sieve has a good potato-soil separating ability, but it causes significant damage to potatoes while ensuring a high potato detection rate, which in turn affects the working effectiveness of the potato digger. Thus, it is necessary to improve the design of the original swing separation sieve with a two-order sieve surface to one with a three-order sieve surface to solve the contradiction between the potato detection and potato damage. Abstract Introduction: Propofol is a widely used anesthetic and its dose is closely related to aging. Telomere length (TL) is a unique heritable trait, and emerging as a biomarker of aging, health and disease. Telomerase RNA component (TERC) plays an important role in maintaining TL. We proposed a hypothesis that propofol dose in general anesthesia can be predicted by measuring TL before operation, which greatly reduced the risk of anesthesia, especially the elderly. Methods: The association between the propofol dose in anesthesia induction and: TL in the DNA of peripheral blood leukocytes; body weight; sex; difference of the Bispectral Index (BIS) before and after anesthesia induction in patients was evaluated by multivariable linear regression analyses. The mutation at the 5’end or 3’end of TERC was detected. We recruited 100 patients of elective surgery. Results: We found that propofol dose in anesthesia induction was clearly correlated significantly with TL (r = 0.78, p < 0.001), body weight (r = 0.84, p = 0.004), sex (r = 0.83, p= 0.84, p = 0.004), sex (r = 0.83, p = 0.004), and difference of BIS before and after anesthesia induction (r = 0.85, p = 0.029). By comparing the absolute values of standardized regression coefficients (0.58, 0.21, 0.19, and 0.12) of the four variables, it can be seen that TL contributes the most to the propofol dose in anesthesia induction. However, the mutation at the 5’ end or 3’ end of TERC was not found. Conclusions: These findings provide preliminary evidence that the propofol dose in anesthesia induction was clearly correlated with genetically determined TL. TL may be a promising predictor of the propofol dose, which is beneficial to improve the safety of anesthesia and reduce perioperative complications. RESUMO Objetivo: Não está claro qual é a meta ideal de concentração de glicose no sangue em pacientes em estado grave. Realizaremos uma revisão sistemática e uma metanálise com dados agregados e de pacientes individuais de estudos controlados e randomizados, comparando o controle intensivo da glicose com o controle liberal da glicose em adultos em estado grave. ABSTRACT Objective: The optimal target for blood glucose concentration in critically ill patients is unclear. We will perform a systematic review and meta-analysis with aggregated and individual patient data from randomized controlled trials, comparing intensive glucose control with liberal glucose control in critically ill adults. Data sources: MEDLINE®, Embase, the Cochrane Central Register of Clinical Trials, and clinical trials registries (World Health Organization, clinical trials.gov). The authors of eligible trials will be invited to provide individual patient data. Published trial-level data from eligible trials that are not at high risk of bias will be included in an aggregated data meta-analysis if individual patient data are not available. Methods: Inclusion criteria: randomized controlled trials that recruited adult patients, targeting a blood glucose of ≤ 120mg/dL (≤ 6.6mmol/L) compared to a higher blood glucose concentration target using intravenous insulin in both groups. Abstract: The privacy problem of facial recognition technology is that commercial companies obtain people’s facial information without the consent of individuals and use facial information to infringe on the privacy of individuals. The importance of human privacy in facial recognition technology is reflected through facial ethics, which requires others to perform corresponding obligations to individuals, such as oral care. Through the analysis of the privacy issues of facial recognition technology, it is found that the two elements of “without personal informed” and “without personal consent” together form the basis for commercial companies to violate personal privacy. The principle of informed consent includes the principle of informed and the principle of consent, which is derived from the principle of informed consent in medical ethics. This paper improves the principles of informed consent in medicine and ethics to better address facial recognition privacy issues.

Através da análise de aspectos de privacidade na tecnologia de reconhecimento facial, encontrou-se que os dois elementos “sem informação pessoal” e “sem consentimento pessoal” juntos, formam a base para companhias comerciais violarem a privacidade pessoal. O princípio do consentimento informado inclui o princípio de informação e o princípio de consentimento, os quais derivam do princípio do consentimento informado em ética médica. Esse artigo melhora os princípios do consentimento informado em medicina e ética para melhor incluir aspectos de privacidade no reconhecimento facial.
