Resumo Este estudo investigou o efeito de treino discriminativo de pseudopalavras com e sem a exigência de resposta de seleção sobre o controle por elementos e recombinações de elementos e sobre a observação dos estímulos. Oito universitários realizaram duas condições com treino discriminativo e teste de controle de estímulos. Na condição SEL, requeria-se uma resposta de seleção do S+; na condição OBS, apenas a observação. A resposta de seleção não foi determinante no controle pelos elementos e pela recombinação de elementos. Quatro participantes apresentaram controle restrito. Esse controle foi ampliado na condição adicional DOR, que requeria a observação diferencial dos elementos, e foi acompanhado por aumento da observação do S+. A ampliação do controle de estímulos, ocasionada pelo DOR, ainda requer avaliação independente de condições de ensino anteriores.

Abstract This study investigated the effects of pseudoword discrimination training that either required or didn’t require selection responses upon control by stimulus elements and recombination of elements, and upon stimulus observation. Eight undergraduate students were exposed to two conditions with discriminative training and stimulus control test. Condition SEL required selecting the S+, and condition OBS only required observation. Test results suggest that selection responses did not affect control by the elements or the recombination of elements in the pseudowords. Four participants presented restricted stimulus control. This control was extended in the additional DOR condition, which required differential observation of the elements, and was accompanied by increases in S+ observation. Increased stimulus control, promoted by the DOR, should still be evaluated independently of previous teaching conditions.

RESUMO Avaliou-se o efeito da ordem dos testes na formação de classes de equivalência e no controle de estímulos após ensino de discriminação simples simultânea com um elemento redundante (mancha preta). Dezenove universitários realizaram treino de relações condicionais, além de testes de equivalência e de controle de estímulos com máscara. A ordem dos testes foi alterada em duas fases experimentais: (1) testes intercalados com treinos e (2) testes após os treinos. A mancha aparecia em um dos estímulos de treino. Desempenhos mais precisos ocorreram em testes conduzidos no final dos treinos. Escores altos foram relacionados com controle pelo S+ e pelo S- e os mais baixos com múltiplos controles, principalmente pela mancha. Sugere-se que a ordem dos testes interage com efeitos do elemento redundante.

ABSTRACT It was investigated the effect of the order of testing on equivalence class formation and stimulus control after teaching simple discriminations that included a redundant element (black spot). Nineteen college students were exposed to conditional relations training, as also testing of equivalence classes and stimulus control with mask. The order of testing varied in two experimental phases: (1) tests alternated with training, and (2) tests after training. A black spot was included in one of the compound stimuli. More accurate performances occurred when tests were conducted after training. Higher scores were related to control by S + and the S- and lower scores to multiple controls that included the black spot. These results suggest that the order of testing interact with the effects of the redundant element.

O presente trabalho investigou os efeitos de quantias de dinheiro descritas como a alternativa de risco e da instrução sobre o valor subjetivo do reforço. Oito estudantes realizaram escolhas hipotéticas entre quantias de dinheiro certas ou imediatas que eram ajustadas de acordo com o comportamento dos sujeitos, e cinco quantias de magnitudes maiores (V = R$10,00 a R$100.000,00) atrasadas (uma semana a 50 anos) ou probabilísticas (0,05 a 0,95). A instrução positiva descrevia as chances ou o atraso para receber cada quantia, enquanto a instrução negativa descrevia as chances de perder ou o tempo de espera para não perder as quantias. O valor subjetivo diminuiu com o aumento de V provável, e aumentou com o aumento de V atrasado. Os resultados individuais foram melhor descritos por uma função potência do que pela hiperbólica. A variação da instrução não produziu diferenças sistemáticas. Os resultados são evidências para uma interpretação diferente do efeito da magnitude do reforço sobre o desconto de quantias prováveis ou atrasadas.

The present study investigated the effects of reinforcement magnitude of the risk alternative and different instructions on the subjective reinforcement value. Eight undergraduate students made hypothetical choices between certain immediate amounts of money that were adjusted according to the subjects' behavior, and larger amounts (V = R$10,00 to R$100.000,00) with several delays (one week to 50 years) or probabilities (0,05 to 0,95) associated to V. The positive instruction described the odds or waiting time to gain each amount of money, while the negative instruction described the odds against or the waiting time for not loosing the money. The relative subjective value decreased with increase in the probable V, and increased with increase in the delayed V. Individual results were better described by a power function than by an hyperbola. There was no systematic effect related to different instructions. The present results are evidences for a different interpretation about the effects of the reinforcement magnitude on the discount of probable or delayed amounts.
