Resumen En la actualidad, las investigaciones sobre proyecto de vida recaen, sobre todo, en las etapas de la adolescencia y la adultez mayor, dejando un vacío en la adultez joven. La presente investigación tiene un enfoque cualitativo, se trabajó con 13 personas que se dedican a la docencia e impartición de la asignatura de educación física en programas públicos de la Ciudad de México y en diferentes niveles educativos. La técnica fue una entrevista semiestructurada y el instrumento que se aplicó fue una guía de entrevista con base en las categorías: proyecto de vida, relaciones y desarrollo socioafectivo, metas y éxito. En los hallazgos, se identificó que las orientaciones de los proyectos de vida de las personas entrevistadas han sido instauradas y configuradas por las circunstancias vivenciales y por su contexto social, el cual ha permeado su estructura psicológica, pensamientos e ideales, sin embargo, no tienen estructurado ni escrito un proyecto de vida con objetivos concretos. El proyecto de vida no es un fin o medio para llegar a una meta, sino constituye una parte vital del ser humano.

Abstract Currently, research on life projects mainly focuses on the stages of adolescence and older adulthood, leaving a void in young adulthood. The present study has a qualitative approach, we worked with 13 people dedicated to teaching Physical Education in public programs in Mexico City and at different educational levels. The technique was a semi-structured interview and the instrument applied was an interview guide based on the categories: life project, relationships, and socio-affective development, goals, and success. In the findings, it was identified that the orientations of the life projects of the people interviewed have been established and configured by their life circumstances and by their social context, which has permeated their psychological structure, thoughts, and ideals; however, they do not have a structured and written life project with concrete objectives. The life project is not an end or a means to reach a goal but constitutes a vital part of the human being.

Abstract Objective: To describe the acute care of patients with bilateral thalamic infarctions in primary and advanced stroke centers in different regions of Colombia. Methods: Multicenter retrospective descriptive study of a series of cases of patients with an imaging diagnosis of bilateral thalamic infarction, in Colombia. 14 hospitals located in seven cities of the country participated. Results: 28 cases were registered, the mean age was 66.8 years with 53.6% men and 96.3% had a favorable previous mRs (0-2). Mean NIHSS at admission was 14 points, the most frequent clinical presentation was altered mental status in 82.1%. The most compromised structure was the bilateral anterior region of the thalamus in 12 patients (42.85%). The most common etiology was undetermined cause (39.3%). 1 patient underwent reperfusion therapy with intravenous thrombolysis (3.6%). Mean hospital stay was 19 days. Conclusions: Bilateral thalamic infarcts are a diagnostic challenge in the emergency department, due to their low reported incidence and the variable clinical presentations, stroke and research centers should be strengthened to contribute to clinical outcomes.

Resumen Objetivo: Describir la atención aguda de pacientes con infartos bilaterales del tálamo en centros de atención primaria y avanzada de ataque cerebrovascular en diferentes regiones de Colombia. Métodos: Estudio descriptivo retrospectivo multicéntrico de serie de casos de pacientes con diagnóstico por imágenes de infarto talámico bilateral, en Colombia. Participaron 14 hospitales ubicados en siete ciudades del país. Resultados: Se registraron 28 casos, la edad promedio fue de 66.8 años con un 53.6% genero masculino; el 96.3% tenía un mRs previo favorable (0-2). La escala NIHSS al ingreso promedio de 14 puntos; la presentación clínica más frecuente fue el estado mental alterado en un 82.1%. La estructura más comprometida fue la región anterior bilateral del tálamo en 12 pacientes (42.85%). La etiología más común fue de causa indeterminada (39.3%). Un paciente recibió terapia de reperfusión con trombólisis intravenosa (3.6%). Estancia hospitalaria promedio de 19 días. Conclusiones: Los infartos talámicos bilaterales representan un desafío diagnóstico en el departamento de emergencias, debido a su baja incidencia reportada y la variabilidad en las presentaciones clínicas. Se debe fortalecer la capacidad de los centros de atención de ataques cerebrovasculares e investigación, para contribuir a los resultados clínicos.

Abstract Objective: To describe a novel dissector device useful in laparoscopy, better definition of anatomic structures to have a better dissection, separation, and cleaning of the structures. Method: The endoscopic dissector DisePad was designed and developed at the experimental surgery department of Centro Médico Nacional 20 de Noviembre, and properly patented at Instituto Mexicano de la Propiedad Industrial (title 3512). Results: The tip of the device is the most important component, by its direct contact with the different tissues, consists of a cotton-polyester black cloth impregnated with a special gel immersed into a hot saline solution. Once soaked the tip maintains the solution temperature on itself. Conclusions: This device has been used in 364 laparoscopic procedures demonstrating, its utility to visualize, separate and clean anatomical structures without thermal lesion, tear, hemorrhage or visceral perforation.

Resumen Objetivo: Describir un nuevo dispositivo disector en laparoscopia, con una mejor definición de las estructuras anatómicas para obtener una mejor disección,separación y limpieza de las estructuras. Método: El disector endoscópico DisePad fue diseñado y desarrollado en el servicio de cirugía experimental del Centro Médico Nacional 20 de Noviembre, y patentado ante el Instituto Mexicano de la Propiedad Industrial (registro n.º 3512). Resultados: El componente más importante del disector es la punta que tiene contacto con los tejidos: es una tela de algodón-poliéster negra impregnada en un gel (patentado) que, al ser sumergido en un termo con solución salina caliente, permite retener la temperatura. Conclusiones: Este dispositivo ha sido utilizado en 364 procedimientos quirúrgicos por vía laparoscópica y ha demostrado ser útil para visualizar, separar y limpiar estructuras anatómicas sin producir daño por lesión térmica, desgarre, hemorragia ni perforación visceral.

RESUMEN Introducción: La enfermedad metastásica a tiroides corresponde a 2% de las malignidades tiroideas en series de autopsias. Hasta el 50% de las metástasis se deben a carcinoma de células renales (Ree). Estas pueden ocurrir varios años después del diagnóstico o la nefrectomía. La presentación aislada en la glándula tiroides es rara. Presentación caso clínico: Presentamos el caso de una mujer de 68 años con historia de Ree manejada con nefrectomía y linfadenectomía retroperitoneal. Tras 7 años libre de síntomas notó la aparición de una masa sobre la región tiroidea. La ultrasonografía reportó nódulos tiroideos bilaterales. Por el antecedente oncológico y la afirmación de síntomas durante la deglución se le realizó tiroidectomía total. El reporte histopatológico fue compatible con metástasis de Ree. Discusión: La literatura muestra que el tiempo medio de metástasis a tiroides en pacientes con Ree es 92 meses. La mayoría de los pacientes son asintomáticos. Se recomienda la tiroidectomía total para prevenir progresión de la enfermedad con impacto favorable en la supervivencia. Conclusión: En los pacientes con nódulos tiroideos y antecedente de Ree se debe sospechar enfermedad metastásica.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Metastatic disease of the thyroid corresponds to 2% of thyroid malignancies in autopsy series. Up to 50% of metastases are due to renal cell carcinoma (Ree). These can occur several years after diagnosis or nephrectomy. An isolated presence in the thyroid gland is rare. Clinical case presentation: We present the case of a 68-year-old woman with a history of Ree managed with nephrectomy and retroperitoneal lymphadenectomy. After 7 years free of symptoms, she noticed a mass over the thyroid region. Ultrasonography reported bilateral thyroid nodules. Due to the oncologic history and the affirmation of symptoms during swallowing, a full thyroidectomy was performed. The histopathological report was compatible with Ree metastasis. Discussion: The literature shows that the median time for thyroid metastasis in patients with Ree is 92 months. Most patients are asymptomatic, and a full thyroidectomy is recommended to prevent disease progression with a favorable impact on Survival. Conclusion: In patients with thyroid nodules and a history of Ree, metastasis should be suspected.

Abstract Objective: The objective of the study was to determine the efficacy and safety of flexible ureteroscopy (F-URS) for the mana gement of intrarenal or proximal ureteral lithiasis in aged patients. Materials and methods: In this retrospective, multicenter observational study, we collected the anonymized clinical data of patients who underwent F-URS at two institutions in Cali, Colombia between June 2015 and May 2018. The patients were divided into two groups based on age: Group A defined as aged patients (> 65 years) and Group B as patients of non-advanced age (< 65 years). Results: A total of 201 patients were included in this study. The average age for Group A was 75 years (± 4.5) and for Group B was 51 years (± 10). The anes thetic risk classification (American Society of Anesthesiology [ASA]) and comorbidities were significantly higher for Group A with an ASA II and III of 74% versus 50% in Group B. No significant differences were shown in the stone-free rates (SFRs) or significant ureteral injury (Grade III and IV). There was no difference in intraoperative or post-operative complications between both groups. Conclusions: Age > 65 years was not associated with a negative impact on the outcomes of F-URS for the management of intrarenal or proximal ureteral lithiasis in this cohort of patients. F-URS appears as a safe and effec tive procedure and should not be withheld from older patients.

Resumen Objetivo: Determinar la efectividad y seguridad de la ureteroscopia flexible (F-URS) para el manejo de la litiasis ureteral intrarrenal o proximal en pacientes ancianos. Materiales y métodos: En este estudio observacional multicéntrico y retrospectivo, se recogieron los datos clínicos de los pacientes sometidos a F-URS en dos instituciones de Cali, Colombia, entre junio de 2015 y mayo de 2018. Los pacientes se dividieron en dos grupos según la edad. El grupo A se definió como pacientes de edad avanzada (> 65 años) y el grupo B como pacientes de edad no avanzada (< 65 años). Resultados: Un total de 201 pacientes fueron incluidos en este estudio. La edad media para el grupo A fue de 75 años (± 4,5) y para el grupo B fue de 51 años (± 10). La clasificación de riesgo anestésico (ASA) y las comorbilidades fueron significativamente mayores para el grupo A con un ASA II y III del 74% frente al 50% en el grupo B. No se observaron diferencias significativas en las tasas libres de cálculos ni en la lesión ureteral significativa (grado III y IV). No hubo diferencias en las complicaciones anestésicas, intraoperatorias o postoperatorias entre ambos grupos. Conclusiones: La edad > 65 años no se asoció con un impacto negativo en los resultados urológicos ni en la tasa de éxito de la F-URS para el manejo de la litiasis ureteral intrarrenal o proximal en esta cohorte de pacientes. La F-URS es un pro cedimiento seguro y eficaz, y no debe contraindicarse en los pacientes de edad avanzada.

Abstract Objective: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic inflammatory demyelinating disease of the central nervous system. Diagnosis is based on the Mc-Donalds criteria, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies, and the expanded disability status scale (EDSS) which assesses disease progression. These criteria do not include the recently described cortical lesions. The aim of the study was to describe the most frequent location and morphology of cortical lesions in patients with MS in Puebla, Mexico. Methods: A descriptive, retrospective, cross-sectional, and analytical study was conducted on patients with MS at a tertiary care hospital. Patients diagnosed with relapsing-remitting, secondary-progressive, and progressive-relapsing MS variants with cranial magnetic resonance imaging were included in the study. Age, sex, MS variant, EDSS score, cognitive impairment, annual relapse rate, morphology, location, and number of cortical lesions were evaluated. Descriptive statistics were used. To compare features between groups, the χ2 test was used, and for correlations, the Spearman's Correlation Coefficient was used. A p ≤ 0.05 was considered significant. Results: Twenty-five patients met the selection criteria. The most frequent location of cortical lesions was the parietal region 84%, and the second was the temporal region 16%. The most common morphology was juxtacortical at 64% and mixed at 36%. The most frequent variant of MS was relapsing-remitting, present in 92%, and 8% had the secondary progressive variant. In the EDSS scale, the scores most frequently observed were 0.0 and 3.5. Conclusions: The most frequent location of cortical lesions was in the parietal region, and the most common morphology was juxtacortical.

Resumen Objetivo: La esclerosis múltiple es una enfermedad desmielinizante inflamatoria crónica del sistema nervioso central. El diagnóstico se basa en los criterios de Mc-Donalds, los estudios de Resonancia Magnética y la Escala Expandida del Estado de Discapacidad (EDSS) que evalúa la progresión de la enfermedad. Estos criterios no incluyen las lesiones corticales descritas recientemente. Describir la localización y morfología más frecuente de lesiones corticales en pacientes con esclerosis múltiple en Puebla, México. Métodos: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo, retrospectivo, transversal y analítico en pacientes con esclerosis múltiple en un hospital de tercer nivel de atención. Se incluyeron pacientes con diagnóstico de Esclerosis Múltiple con variantes Remitente-Recurrente, Secundaria-Progresiva y Progresiva-Recurrente con resonancia magnética de cráneo. Se evaluó edad, sexo, variante de esclerosis múltiple, puntaje de EDSS, deterioro cognitivo, tasa de recaída anual, morfología, ubicación y numero de lesiones corticales. Se utilizó estadística descriptiva. Para comparar características entre grupos se utilizó χ2, para correlaciones se utilizó Coeficiente de Correlación de Spearman. Una p ≤ 0.05 se consideró significativa. Resultados: 25 pacientes cumplieron con criterios de selección. La localización más frecuente de lesiones corticales fue la región parietal 84% y la segunda temporal 16%. La morfología más frecuente fue la yuxtacortical en un 64%, y la mixta en 36%. La variante más frecuente de esclerosis múltiple fue Remitente-Recurrente presente en 92%, y 8% la variante Secundaria Progresiva. En la escala de EDDS la puntuación con mayor frecuencia fue 0.0 y 3.5. Conclusiones: La localización más frecuente de las lesiones corticales fue en región parietal y la morfología más frecuente la yuxtacortical.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Liver cancer is the seventh most common neoplasm worldwide and the second cause of mortality directly associated with cancer. In Mexico it has an incidence of 3.9% in the entire population. Although computed tomography (CT) is the imaging study of choice, the final diagnosis is established with the anatomopathological study of the lesion. Objective: Correlate the tomographic findings with the histopathological result in patients with liver lesions with suspicion of malignancy, who underwent USG-guided biopsy. Methods: Descriptive, correlation, retrolective, homodemographic and single-center study. The study period was from September 2021 to February 2022. Patients older than 18 years with liver lesions suspicious of malignancy were selected and underwent Computed Axial Tomography and ultrasound-guided biopsy. Shapiro Wilk tests (for normality) were used and chi-square was used for an analysis of association of categorical variables. Results: Twenty-four patients were included, who underwent Tomography and lesion biopsy, finding an average size of lesions of 2.39cm. The results of the correlation between the tomographic diagnosis and the definitive histopathological diagnosis did not have statistical significance p=0.069. Conclusions: No significant correlation was found between the histopathological study and tomographic findings in liver lesions suggestive of malignancy.

RESUMEN Introducción: El cáncer hepático es la séptima neoplasia más frecuente a nivel mundial y la segunda causa de mortalidad asociada directamente a cáncer. En México presenta una incidencia del 3.9% en toda la población. A pesar de que la tomografía axial computada es el estudio diagnóstico inicial de elección, el diagnóstico final se establece con el estudio anatomopatológico de la lesión. Objetivo: Correlacionar los hallazgos tomográficos con el resultado histopatológico en pacientes con lesiones hepáticas con sospecha de malignidad, a los que se les tomó biopsia dirigida por USG. Material y métodos: Estudio descriptivo, de correlación, retrolectivo, homodémico y unicéntrico. El tiempo de estudio fue de septiembre 2021 a febrero 2022. Se seleccionó a pacientes mayores de 18 años con lesiones hepáticas sospechosas de malignidad, a los que se les realizó tomografía y biopsia guiada por ultrasonido. Se utilizó pruebas de Shapiro-Wilk (de normalidad) y se utilizó ꭕ2 para un análisis de asociación de variables categóricas. Resultados: Se incluyeron a 24 pacientes, a los cuales se les realizó tomografía y biopsia de lesión, encontrando un tamaño promedio de las lesiones de 2.39cm. Los resultados de la correlación entre el diagnóstico tomográfico y el diagnóstico histopatológico definitivo no tuvieron significancia estadística p=0.069. ABSTRACT Introduction: Autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation is part of the advances in the treatment of patients diagnosed with multiple myeloma in recent years. Objective: To evaluate the results of autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in patients with multiple myeloma. Methods: A descriptive, retrospective and cohort study was carried out, forming a sample of 15 patients treated in the Hematology Service at Hermanos Ameijeiras Clinical Surgical Hospital from November 2009 to November 2019. Results: The average age was 54.67 years; 53.3% were male and all debuted in Durie-Salmon stage III. As conditioning for the transplant, 67.7% received high doses of melphalan at doses of 200 mg/m2. Cytopenias and gastrointestinal toxicity were the most common complications (93.3%). The recovery of neutrophil and platelet numbers occurred on average after 11 days, only two patients died (13.3%) and 13 (86.7%) are in complete remission with a probability of overall survival at 5 years, 77.8%. Conclusions: Transplantation of autologous hematopoietic stem cells with the use of high doses of melphalan as conditioning in patients with multiple myeloma is a feasible procedure with a relatively low mortality and demonstrates that its inclusion in the treatment of patients considerably improves their survival expectations.

RESUMEN Introducción: El trasplante de progenitores hematopoyéticos autólogo forma parte de los avances en la terapéutica de pacientes con diagnóstico del mieloma múltiple durante los últimos años. Objetivo: Evaluar los resultados del trasplante de progenitores hematopoyéticos autólogo en pacientes con mieloma múltiple. Métodos: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo, retrospectivo y de cohorte, conformándose una muestra de 15 pacientes atendidos en el Servicio de Hematología del Hospital Clínico Quirúrgico Hermanos Ameijeiras durante el período comprendido de noviembre de 2009 a noviembre de 2019. Resultados: En el estudio realizado la edad promedio fue de 54,67 años; el 53,3 % fue del sexo masculino y todos debutaron en estadio III de Durie-Salmon. Como acondicionamiento para el trasplante el 67,7 % recibió altas dosis de melfalán en dosis de 200 mg/m2. Las citopenias y la toxicidad gastrointestinal fueron las complicaciones más frecuentes (93,3 %). La recuperación de las cifras de neutrófilos y plaquetas ocurrió como promedio a los 11 días. Solo dos pacientes fallecieron (13,3 %) y 13 (86,7 %) se encuentran en remisión completa con una probabilidad de sobrevida global a los 5 años, el 77,8 %. Conclusiones: El trasplante de progenitores hematopoyéticos autólogo con el empleo de altas dosis de melfalán como acondicionamiento en pacientes con mieloma múltiple es un proceder realizable con una mortalidad relativamente baja y demuestra que su inclusión en el tratamiento de los pacientes mejora considerablemente sus expectativas de sobrevida.

RESUMEN Se indagó determinar los tratamientos y sustratos más efectivos para la germinación de semillas de Juglans neotropica. Se realizaron dos experimentos: en el primero se utilizaron cinco tratamientos físicos, mientras que en el segundo se combinaron tres tratamientos físicos y tres sustratos, en un diseño completamente al azar. Se monitoreó la germinación de forma diaria, a partir de los 30 días después de la siembra, y se evaluó la capacidad de germinación y la distribución de la germinación en el tiempo, considerando variables como: el porcentaje y vigor de germinación, tiempo promedio de germinación, coeficiente e índice de velocidad de germinación y coeficiente de uniformidad de germinación. Se encontró que los tratamientos de pregerminación con temperaturas de 40 y 50°C en horno con ventilación forzada durante dos horas, así como el testigo, presentaron diferencias significativas en todas las variables evaluadas, excepto en el coeficiente de uniformidad, en comparación con los tratamientos de escarificación con lijado. El mayor porcentaje de germinación acumulada (76%) se obtuvo con los tratamientos pregerminativos a una temperatura de 40°C en estufa con ventilación forzada durante dos horas. La interacción entre los sustratos y los tratamientos pregerminativos no mostró diferencias significativas, en las variables germinativas analizadas. ABSTRACT The objective was to determine the treatments and substrates that show the best behavior in relation to the germination of Juglans neotropica seeds. Five physical treatments were used in experiment one and in experiment two three physical treatments and three substrates were combined with completely randomized designs. Germination was monitored daily from 30 days after sowing. The evaluation was related to the germination capacity and the distribution of germination over time, such as: germination percentage, germination vigor, average germination time, speed coefficient, germination speed index and germination uniformity coefficient. The pre-germination treatments with a temperature of 40 and 50 oC in a stove with forced ventilation for two hours and the control, showed significant differences for all the variables, except the coefficient of uniformity, with respect to the scarification treatments with sanding. The highest accumulated germination percentage, 76%, was reached with pre-germination treatments at a temperature of 40 oC in an oven with forced ventilation for two hours. The interaction of substrates with pre-germination treatments do not show significant differences in the germination variables analyzed. Resumen El objetivo de esta investigación fue analizar #TikTokChallenges con contenido físico-motor realizando una aproximación desde la perspectiva de género. Se utilizó una metodología observacional y cualitativa sobre una muestra, intencional y previamente seleccionada, de 87 vídeos con contenido físico-motor. Las categorías del análisis observacional se fundamentaron en la literatura previa y la codificación fue realizada por dos analistas. Los datos de dicha codificación fueron tratados en SPSS. Los pies de vídeo fueron analizados cualitativamente con Atlas.ti procediendo con un conteo de palabras y un análisis inductivo. Los resultados mostraron que la mayoría de los vídeos analizados manifestaron capacidades perceptivo-motrices, siendo la expresión corporal y el baile los contenidos más frecuentes. Seis vídeos presentaron contenido con ideología de género. Se discute sobre la necesidad de ahondar en el conocimiento de esta red social que puede actuar en la promoción de actividad física y la construcción de género en la población joven. Resumo O objetivo desta investigação foi analisar o #TikTokChallenges com conteúdo físico-motor numa perspetiva de género. Abstract The aim of this research was to analyse #TikTokChallenges with physical-motor content from a gender perspective. Abstract Natural spawning of the leopard grouper (Mycteroperca rosacea) was studied in captivity from 2004 to 2008 under natural photoperiod conditions. Fish spawned naturally in 2006, but only 90,000 unfertilized eggs were collected. A total of 43 and 27 spawning days were observed in 2007 and 2008, respectively. Spawning season began in March and lasted until May-June and was related to an increase in water temperature from 21.1 to 23.8 °C. The mean (SE) number of eggs released each day was 101,705 (13,876) in 2007 and 40,510 (7,874) in 2008, and the total number of eggs collected in 2007 and 2008 was 4.37 × 106and 1.07 × 106, respectively. The number of eggs collected per month was not significantly different within each year (P> 0.05), although a significant difference was observed between 2007 and 2008 (P< 0.05). The annual relative number of eggs released was 288,750 eggs·kg-1in 2007 and 72,919 eggs·kg-1in 2008, and viable egg production was 184,800 eggs kg-1in 2007 and 25,375 eggs kg-1in 2008. The fertilization rate (%) of the eggs collected daily differed significantly throughout the spawning season of 2007 (P< 0.05). The fertilization rate also differed (P< 0.05) between 2007 (61.10%) and 2008 (32.30%). Statistical analysis of the 2 consecutive spawning seasons indicated no correlation between the fertilization rate and fecundity. The effect of the moon phase on spawning was also considered. The fish spawned at dusk before total darkness. Mean (SD) egg diameter was 864.0 ± 22.0 µm.

Resumen Se estudió el desove natural de la cabrilla sardinera,Mycteroperca rosacea, en cautiverio, de 2004 a 2008 en condiciones naturales de luz y temperatura. Los peces desovaron naturalmente en 2006, pero solo se recolectaron 90,000 huevos no fertilizados. Se observó un total de 43 días de desove en 2007 y 27 días en 2008. La temporada de desove comenzó en marzo y se prolongó hasta mayo-junio, lo cual se relacionó con un aumento en la temperatura del agua de 21.1 a 23.8 °C. La media (error estándar) del número de huevos liberados diariamente fue de 101,705 (13,876) en 2007 y 40,510 (7,874) en 2008, y el número total de huevos recolectados fue de 4.37 × 106y 1.07 × 106, respectivamente. El número de huevos recolectados por mes no fue significativamente diferente dentro de cada año (P> 0.05), pero sí al comparar 2007 y 2008 (P< 0.05). La puesta relativa anual fue de 288,750 huevos·kg-1en 2007 y 72,919 huevos·kg-1en 2008, y la producción de huevos viables fue de 184,800 huevos·kg-1en 2007 y 25,375 huevos·kg-1en 2008. La tasa de fertilización (%) de los huevos recolectados diariamente fue significativamente diferente a lo largo de la temporada de desove de 2007 (P< 0.05). La tasa de fertilización también difirió significativamente (P< 0.05) entre 2007 (61.10%) y 2008 (32.30%). El análisis estadístico indicó que no hubo correlación entre la tasa de fertilización y el número de huevos liberados en ambas temporadas de desove. Abstract Ovine pulmonary adenocarcinoma is a transmissible pulmonary malignancy of sheep caused by a beta-retrovirus currently named Jaagsiekte sheep retrovirus (JSRV). Club cells (formerly Clara cells) in the bronchiole and type II pneumonocytes in the alveoli are the target oncogenic cells for this virus. Characterized clinically by intermittent cough, abundant nasal discharge, and progressive weight loss, the tumors randomly involve all lung lobes or have a cranioventral distribution mimicking bronchopneumonia. The definitive diagnosis of ovine pulmonary adenocarcinoma requires identifying Jaagsiekte sheep retrovirus or associated specific proteins in neoplastic cells such as JSRV-Env oncogenic protein. A two-year-old Male Pelibuey sheep with a history of chronic cough and progressive weight loss was treated unsuccessfully with antibiotics and died a few days later. Postmortem examination revealed lung edema and several nodular to locally extensive masses in the lungs. Microscopically the tumoral tissues were composed of clusters of neoplastic epithelial cells exhibiting a lepidic growth pattern typical of pulmonary carcinoma. Tumoral cells were immunopositive for Jaagsiekte sheep retrovirus-Env oncogenic protein. Based on these findings, the final diagnosis of ovine pulmonary adenocarcinoma was made.

Resumen El adenocarcinoma pulmonar ovino es una neoplasia pulmonar transmisible del ganado ovino causada por un beta retrovirus actualmente denominado retrovirus Jaagsiekte de las ovejas (JSRV). Las células Club (anteriormente llamadas células de Clara) de los bronquiolos y los neumocitos de tipo II de los alvéolos son las células oncogénicas que constituyen el objetivo de este virus. Se caracteriza clínicamente por tos intermitente, secreción nasal abundante y pérdida de peso progresiva, los tumores afectan aleatoriamente a todos los lóbulos pulmonares o tienen una distribución cráneo-ventral que simula una bronconeumonía. El diagnóstico definitivo del adenocarcinoma pulmonar ovino requiere que se identifique el retrovirus Jaagsiekte de las ovejas RVJO-Env, o bien, la presencia de proteínas específicas asociadas en las células neoplásicas, tales como la proteína oncogénica JSRV-Env. Un ovino Pelibuey macho de dos años con un historial de tos crónica y pérdida de peso progresiva fue tratado sin éxito con antibióticos y murió unos días más tarde. El examen post mortem reveló edema pulmonar y varias masas nodulares localmente extensas en los pulmones. A nivel microscópico, los tejidos tumorales estaban compuestos por grupos de células epiteliales neoplásicas que mostraban un patrón de crecimiento lepídico típico del carcinoma pulmonar. Las células tumorales fueron inmunopositivas para la proteína oncogénica Env del retrovirus Jaagsiekte de la oveja. Con base en estos hallazgos, se hizo el diagnóstico final de adenocarcinoma pulmonar ovino.

Abstract Introduction: In Mexico, cardiac rehabilitation (CR) as an interdisciplinary intervention with therapeutic impact in patients with heart disease is growing. There is the need to know actual conditions of CR in our country. Objectives: The objective of this National Registry is to follow-up those existing and new CR units in Mexico through the comparison between the two previous registries, RENAPREC-2009 and RENAPREC II-2015 studies. This is a descriptive study focused on diverse CR activities such as assistance training, and certification of health professionals, barriers, reference, population attended, interdisciplinarity, permanence over time, growth prospects, regulations, post-pandemic condition, integrative characteristics, and scientific research. Results: Data were collected from 45 CR centers in the 32 states, 75.5% are private practice units, 67% are new, 33% were part of RENAPREC II-2015, and 17 have continued since 2009. With a better distribution of CR units along the territory, the median reference of candidates for CR programs is 9% with a significant reduction into tiempo of enrollment to Phase II admission (19 ± 11 days). Regarding to previous registries, the coverance of Phases I, II, and III is 71%, 100%, and 93%, respectively; and a coverance increases in evaluation, risk stratification, and prescription, more comprehensive attendance and prevention strategies. Conclusions: CR in Mexico has grown in the past 7 years. Even there is still low reference and heterogeneity in specific processes, there are strengths such as interdisciplinarity, scientific professionalization of specialists, national diversification, and an official society that are consolidated over time.

Resumen Introducción: El Trastorno por Déficit de Atención e Hiperactividad es el desorden pediátrico del neurodesarrollo más frecuente. Los estudios en México que evalúan Calidad de vida y características cognitivas son escasos. Objetivo: Describir la relación entre las características cognitivas y la calidad de vida en niños con trastorno por déficit de atención e hiperactividad en Puebla, México. Método: Se realizó un estudio transversal, analítico en un Hospital de 2º nivel de atención en Puebla, México. Se incluyeron pacientes con Trastorno por Déficit de Atención e Hiperactividad de 6 a 12 años. Se excluyeron aquellos con discapacidad visual/auditiva y retraso severo del lenguaje. Se eliminaron quienes no completaron la información. Se les aplicó WISC-IV, Neuropsi y BMSLSS (como indicador de Calidad de Vida). Se utilizó Coeficiente de Spearman; p ≤ 0.05 se consideró significativa. Resultados: 104 niños reclutados, 71 hombres (68.26%), edad media 8.94 años (DE 1.83, mín. 6, máx. 12). Los dominios más afectados fueron Memoria de trabajo, Velocidad de procesamiento (WISC-IV), y Atención y memoria (Neuropsi). La Calidad de Vida fue mayoritariamente baja (60%). Coeficiente intelectual (WISC-IV) (r = 0.3962, p = 0.000) y Atención y memoria (Neuropsi) (r = 0.451, p = 0.018) reportaron correlación moderada significativa con Calidad de vida. Conclusión: Atención, Memoria y Velocidad de procesamiento son las características cognitivas más afectadas en niños con Trastorno por Déficit de Atención e Hiperactividad. La Calidad de vida es baja. Coeficiente intelectual y Atención y memoria reportaron correlación moderada significativa con Calidad de Vida.

Abstract Background: Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is the most frequent pediatric neurodevelopmental disorder. Studies in Mexico about health-related quality of life (QOL) and cognitive characteristics in these patients are scarce. Objectives: The objective of this study is to describe the relationship between cognitive characteristics and health-related QOL in children with ADHD in Puebla, Mexico. Method: A cross-sectional, analytical study was carried out in a second-level care hospital in Puebla, Mexico. Both genders, from 6 to 12 years old patients with ADHD were included. Those with visual/hearing disabilities and/or severe language delays were excluded. Patients who did not complete the information were eliminated. The Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children IV (WISC-IV), The Neuropsi and Brief Multidimensional Life Satisfaction Scale for Students (as health-related QOL indicator) scales were applied. Spearman test was used; p ≤ 0.05 was considered significant. Results: 104 children were recruited, 71 male (68.26%), medium age was 8.94 years old (SD = 1.83, min = 6, max = 12). Work memory and processing speed (WISC-IV), and memory and attention (Neuropsi) were the most affected domains. Health-related QOL was low at 60%. WISC-IVs intellectual quotient (r = 0.3962, p = 0.000), and Neuropsi's memory and attention (r = 0.451, p = 0.018) reported a significant moderated correlation with health-related QOL. Conclusion: Attention, memory, and processing speed were the most affected cognitive characteristics in children with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder. Health-related QOL resulted low. Intellectual coefficient, as well as memory and attention, reported a significant moderated correlation with health-related QOL.

Resumen Objetivo: Determinar la prevalencia de los principales factores de riesgo asociados a contractura capsular posterior a mamoplastia de aumento en un centro de referencia. Método: Estudio retrospectivo de 210 pacientes en el que se registraron variables sociodemográficas, escala clínica de Baker y resultados histopatológicos. Resultados: Se realizó el análisis estadístico de 210 pacientes; el 98.1% fueron mujeres. La edad promedio fue de 47 años (± 11), el índice de masa corporal 25 kg/m2 (± 10) y el inicio de los síntomas 13 años (± 8.5). Factores sociodemográficos: labores domésticas 63.3%. Alcoholismo 70% y tabaquismo 65.7%. El principal motivo de consulta fue dolor más deformidad, en el 81.6%. Los factores de riesgo con significancia estadística fueron el antecedente de traumatismo, con un 83.3% (p = 0.004), y el plano subglandular, con un 73.8% (p = 0.0115). Histopatología: cápsula fibrosa 81.4%. Conclusiones: La prevalencia de los factores de riesgo descritos es similar a lo reportado en la literatura. Solo para el antecedente de traumatismo y el plano subglandular hubo significancia estadística.

Abstract Objective: To determinate the prevalence of the main risk factors associated with development of capsular contracture after placement of breast implants in a referral center. Method: Retrospect study on 210 patients where sociodemographic variables, Baker's clinical scale and histopathological results were recorded. Results: Statistical analysis of 210 patients was performed; 98.1% were women. The average age was 47 years (± 11), body mass index 25 (± 10) and onset of symptoms 13 years (± 8.5). Sociodemographic factors: domestic work 63.3%. Alcoholism 70% and smoking 65.7%. The main reason for consultation was pain plus deformity in 81.6%. The risk factors with statistical significance were the history of trauma, with 83.3% (p = 0.004), and the subglandular plane, with 73.8% (p = 0.0115). Histopathology: fibrous capsule 81.4%. Conclusions: The prevalence of the risk factors described are similar to those reported in the literature. Only for the history of trauma and the subglandular plane there was statistical significance.
