Silver film is commonly used to examine the structure and composition of molecules due to its surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) effect. A simple method for preparing SERS silver films is proposed in this paper by electrodeposition in an amide-based liquid mixture (urea-acetamide-LiBr). The electrochemical behavior of silver in urea-acetamide-LiBr mixture was studied by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and chronoamperometry. It was found that the nucleation mechanism of silver shifts to instantaneous nucleation under diffusion control with increasing overpotential and temperature. The energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) investigations confirmed that the obtained deposits are pure silver. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis showed that the morphology of the silver deposits depends on the deposition potential and temperature. ABSTRACT Objective: The purpose of the present study was to examine the association of oxidative stress markers with sarcopenia in the general United States population under the age of 60. Methods: We used the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey data from 2011‒2014 and performed Restricted Cubic Spline (RCS) plots, weighted multivariable logistic regression analysis to calculate ratio ratios and 95% Confidence Intervals, and subgroup analysis based on age, sex, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and body mass index stratification to determine the association of markers of oxidative stress with the prevalence of sarcopenia. Results: The present analysis included a total of 8,782 participants. Firstly, the RCS plots showed a roughly L-shaped curve association of total bilirubin and serum iron with a prevalence of sarcopenia. Secondly, albumin was negatively and linearly associated with the risk of sarcopenia. Finally, with the increase in gamma-glutamyl transferase, the prevalence of sarcopenia showed a trend of first rising and then declining as a result of the iron increase. Conclusions: We demonstrated a nonlinear association between markers of oxidative stress and sarcopenia. The need to focus more on levels of oxidative stress in the body could provide better prevention strategies for sarcopenia. Abstract Background As a common disabling disease, irreversible neuronal death due to spinal cord injury (SCI) is the root cause of functional impairment; however, the capacity for neuronal regeneration in the developing spinal cord tissue is limited. Therefore, there is an urgent need to investigate how defective neurons can be replenished and functionally integrated by neural regeneration; the reprogramming of intrinsic cells into functional neurons may represent an ideal solution. Methods A mouse model of transection SCI was prepared by forceps clamping, and an adeno-associated virus (AAV) carrying the transcription factors NeuroD1 and Neurogenin-2(Ngn2) was injected in situ into the spinal cord to specifically overexpress these transcription factors in astrocytes close to the injury site. 5-bromo-2´-deoxyuridine (BrdU) was subsequently injected intraperitoneally to continuously track cell regeneration, neuroblasts and immature neurons marker expression, neuronal regeneration, and glial scar regeneration. In addition, immunoprotein blotting was used to measure the levels of transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) pathway-related protein expression. We also evaluated motor function, sensory function, and the integrity of the blood-spinal cord barrier(BSCB). Results The in situ overexpression of NeuroD1 and Ngn2 in the spinal cord was achieved by specific AAV vectors. This intervention led to a significant increase in cell regeneration and the proportion of cells with neuroblasts and immature neurons cell properties at the injury site(p < 0.0001). Immunofluorescence staining identified astrocytes with neuroblasts and immature neurons cell properties at the site of injury while neuronal marker-specific staining revealed an increased number of mature astrocytes at the injury site. Behavioral assessments showed that the intervention did not improve The BMS (Basso mouse scale) score (p = 0.0726) and gait (p > 0.05), although the treated mice had more sensory sensitivity and greater voluntary motor ability in open field than the non-intervention mice. We observed significant repair of the BSCB at the center of the injury site (p < 0.0001) and a significant improvement in glial scar proliferation. Electrophysiological assessments revealed a significant improvement in spinal nerve conduction (p < 0.0001) while immunostaining revealed that the levels of TGF-β protein at the site of injury in the intervention group were lower than control group (p = 0.0034); in addition, P70 s6 and PP2A related to the TGF-β pathway showed ascending trend (p = 0.0036, p = 0.0152 respectively). Conclusions The in situ overexpression of NeuroD1 and Ngn2 in the spinal cord after spinal cord injury can reprogram astrocytes into neurons and significantly enhance cell regeneration at the injury site. The reprogramming of astrocytes can lead to tissue repair, thus improving the reduced threshold and increasing voluntary movements. This strategy can also improve the integrity of the blood-spinal cord barrier and enhance nerve conduction function. However, the simple reprogramming of astrocytes cannot lead to significant improvements in the striding function of the lower limbs.

ABSTRACT Knowing the proliferative capacity of herbicide-resistant weeds is the basis for the integrated management. We collected seeds of two Echinochloa glabrescens Munro ex Hook. f. populations (TS and WH) from rice (Oryza sativa L.) fields in eastern China (F0 populations), and those from individuals surviving the initial metamifop treatment (F1 lines) were tested for their responses to metamifop, and common garden experiments were conducted to compare their productivities. We found that TS was highly resistant to metamifop, and WH was susceptible. After treated with metamifop at the label dose (120 g ai ha-1), averagely 56% and 16% of TS and WH F1 lines contained surviving seedlings, and averagely 24% and 1% F1 seedlings survived among total seedlings of the same population, respectively. After treated with metamifop at a dose of 0, 60, 120 or 240 g ai ha-1, surviving F0 plants escaped from higher doses reproduced higher proportions of metamifop-resistant F1 progenies in both populations. At 120 d after sowing (DAS), TS individuals surviving 2 × label dose of metamifop showed nonsignificant difference in plant heights, biomass and seed production, compared with relative control treatment; while WH plants surviving the label dose of metamifop decreased seed production by 25%-39%. One WH and TS plant individual surviving metamifop treatment at the label dose may generate 10-21 and 490-701 progenies resistant to the label dose of metamifop, respectively.

Resumen Objetivo. Investigar la seguridad y la eficacia de la discectomía endoscópica percutánea (DEP) y de la discectomía fenestrada (DF) en el tratamiento de la hernia de disco lumbar. Método. Se analizaron retrospectivamente los datos clínicos completos de 87 pacientes con hernia de disco lumbar. De acuerdo con el tratamiento prescrito, los pacientes fueron divididos en grupo control (DF, n = 39) y grupo de estudio (DEP, n = 48). Se compararon las condiciones básicas de funcionamiento de los dos grupos y se evaluaron los resultados de la cirugía, la incidencia de complicaciones y la calidad de vida al año de la operación. Resultados. Ambos grupos completaron la operación. En el grupo de estudio, las puntuaciones en la escala visual análoga y ODI disminuyeron significativamente, mientras que las puntuaciones JOA aumentaron significativamente. La tasa de éxito de la operación en el grupo de estudio fue significativamente mayor que en el grupo control, y la incidencia de complicaciones fue significativamente menor que en el grupo control. No hubo diferencia significativa en la calidad de vida entre los dos grupos (p > 0.05). Conclusiones. La tasa de éxito del tratamiento con DEP fue mayor, y el tiempo de recuperación fue más rápido y más seguro que con la DF.

Abstract Background. The aim of the study was to explore the safety and efficacy of percutaneous transforaminal endoscopic discectomy (PTED) and fenestration discectomy (FD) in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation (LDH). Material and methods. The complete clinical data from 87 patients with LDH from our hospital were retrospectively analyzed. Patients were divided into a control group (n = 39, treated with FD) and a research group (n = 48, treated with PTED) according to the prescribed treatments. The basic operation conditions were compared across the two groups. Surgical outcomes were assessed. The incidences of complications and the life quality of patients were evaluated 1 year after surgery. Results. The patients in both groups completed the operation. The visual analog scale and Oswestry Disability Index score of patients in the research group was significantly lower while the Orthopaedic Association Score was significantly higher after surgery. The success rate of the operation in the research group which was significantly higher and the rate of complications was significantly lower. No statistical differences in the quality of life were observed between the patients (p > 0.05). Conclusions. PTED and FD are effective in the treatment of LDH. However, our study showed that PTED has a higher rate of treatment success, faster recovery times and is safer than FD.

Abstract To explore a new method for the detection of soluble solids content (SSC) in apples, the reflectance spectra of apples with different SSC were obtained based on hyperspectral imaging technology in this paper, and fractal measurement of the reflection spectrum curve was carried out based on fractal theory, for using fractal dimension to quantitatively reflect its SSC. The results show that the samples with different SSC have little difference in fractal dimension, and are not sensitive to the change of apple SSC, which cannot show an obvious linear relationship. It can be considered to conduct a study on discrimination with obvious differences between spectral curves, such as variety discrimination and damage discrimination.

Abstract This study proposes a novel method for jujube maturity and water content determination incorporating fractal theory. Firstly, the tissue section images of winter jujube at different maturity and tissue section image images of winter jujube with different moisture content were preprocessed by grayscale, median filter, histogram equalization and binarization. Secondly, the fractal dimension of jujube tissue section images of jujube at different maturity, and the fractal dimension of tissue slice images of jujube with different moisture content were calculated based on the box dimension algorithm. Finally, the relationships of the fractal dimension-maturity and fractal dimension-moisture content were explored. ABSTRACT Introduction: The objectives of this study were to investigate the main treatment strategies and long-term follow-up results of aortic dissection surgery after open-heart surgery (ADSOHS) and to analyze the risk factors that cause ADSOHS. Methods: One hundred thirty-seven patients with ADSOHS hospitalized in our hospital from January 2009 to December 2018 were selected as the research object. Long-term follow-up results, complications, mortality, and changes of cardiac function before and after operation were used to explore the value of Sun’s operation. Results: The length of stay in intensive care unit of these 137 patients ranged from 9.5 to 623.75 hours (average of 76.41±97.29 hours), auxiliary ventilation time ranged from 6.0 to 259.83 hours (average of 46.16±55.59 hours), and hospital stay ranged from six to 85 days (average of 25.06±13.04 days). There were seven cases of postoperative low cardiac output, 18 cases of coma and stroke, and six cases of transient neurological dysfunction. A total of 33 patients died; 19 patients died during the perioperative period, 18 died during Sun’s operation and one died during other operation; and 14 patients died during follow-up (January 2021), 12 cases of Sun’s operation and two cases of other operations. Conclusion: ADSOHS treatment strategy is of high application value, and the risk of neurological complications and mortality is low. The main risk factors are postoperative low cardiac output, coma, stroke, and transient neurological dysfunction. The extracorporeal circulation time is relatively long. Short- and long-term follow-up effects are good, and it is worthy of clinical promotion. La aptitud física es un factor crucial para la mejora de la capacidad competitiva en los jugadores de fútbol. Objetivo: Explorar la mejora de la velocidad de carrera y la fuerza explosiva en jugadores de fútbol. Métodos: Se seleccionaron 30 jugadores de fútbol por muestreo aleatorio. Los individuos se dividieron aleatoriamente en grupos experimentales y de control. Los miembros de ambos grupos participaron en actividades físicas diarias y al grupo experimental se le añadió el entrenamiento de velocidad y fuerza mediante un protocolo con ejercicios regulares. Los atletas se entrenaron durante diez semanas. La velocidad y la explosividad de los atletas se midieron antes y después de la prueba. Se realizó un análisis matemático y estadístico de los datos recogidos. Resultados: Hubo diferencias significativas en la velocidad de carrera y la fuerza explosiva en los atletas del grupo experimental en comparación con el grupo de control en las pruebas de 30 metros lisos, salto de longitud y carrera de Illinois. ABSTRACT Introduction: Besides good physical condition, soccer players should also possess good technical and psychological abilities. Physical fitness is a crucial factor in the competitive ability improvement of soccer players. Objective: Explore the improvement of running speed and explosive strength in soccer players. Methods: We selected 30 soccer players by random sampling. Individuals were randomly divided into experimental and control groups. Members of both groups participated in daily physical activities, and speed and strength training was added to the experimental group through a protocol with regular exercises. The athletes trained for ten weeks. The speed and explosiveness of the athletes were measured before and after the test. A mathematical and statistical analysis was made of the data collected. Results: There were significant differences in running speed and explosiveness strength in the athletes of the experimental group compared to the control group in the 30-meter dash, long jump, and Illinois run. Conclusion: Speed and strength exercises can significantly improve the running speed of athletes, and increase the muscular explosive force and physical agility of soccer players. The speed and strength exercises developed in this paper are consistent with the technical characteristics of soccer. ABSTRACT This study investigated oxidative damage and exocrine dysfunction of fetal pancreas caused by maternal nutritional restriction. Eighteen ewes carrying singleton fetus were randomly divided into control group (CG, ad libitum, 0.67 MJ ME/BW0.75/d, n = 6), restricted group 1 (RG1, 0.33 MJ ME/BW0.75/d, n = 6), and restricted group 2 (RG2, 0.18 MJ ME/BW0.75/d, n = 6) at d 90 of pregnancy. Maternal undernutrition was imposed from d 90 to 140 of pregnancy. At 140 d of gestation, fetal blood and pancreas tissue were collected to determine fetal pancreatic extracellular matrix, antioxidant capacity, and indicators of exocrine dysfunction. With the decrease of maternal nutrition, the fetal body weight, pancreatic weight, and DNA content were reduced in RG2 compared with CG, and increased and thickened collagen fibers were observed in RG2. Abstract Dried radish is a kind of pickled vegetable product with a unique taste made from radish via traditional solid-state spontaneous fermentation. In this study, the effects of variety on physicochemical indexes, texture properties, and taste substances of spontaneous fermented dried radish were investigated. As a result, processing and fermentation had similar trends for all radish varieties. The pH value decreased slightly, soluble solid increased with the decrease of moisture content, the hardness and chewiness decreased, while the content of organic acids and free amino acids increased. Furthermore, the variety of raw material is the key to affecting product quality and taste. The dried radish processed by the variety P21-25 presents the best texture, the highest content of sweet amino acids, the most abundant component of organic acids, while having the lowest salinity. These results indicated that radish varieties could significantly influence the quality and taste of dried radishes under the same processing and fermentation conditions. RESUMO Introdução: Atividades físicas são uma parte importante do tratamento de osteoporose. Uma quantidade moderada de exercícios pode melhorar a biomecânica, o metabolismo, e a densidade ósseos. Objetivo: Estudar os efeitos de diferentes esportes na densidade mineral óssea de adultos. Métodos: Selecionou-se voluntários para realizarem diferentes atividades físicas e utilizou-se ultrassom quantitativo e bioimpedância elétrica como métodos para testar os voluntários. Resultados: A atividade física pode aumentar o conteúdo de massa magra na composição corporal e reduzir a porcentagem de gordura no corpo. A densidade mineral do calcâneo de estudantes de educação física mostrou uma relação positiva com peso baixo. Conclusão: A atividade física melhorou a densidade mineral óssea de jovens. ABSTRACT Introduction: Exercise is an important part of osteoporosis treatment. A moderate amount of exercise can improve bone metabolism, improve bone biomechanics and increase bone density. Objective: To study the effects of different sports on adult bone mineral density. Methods: We selected volunteers to perform different exercises and used quantitative ultrasound and bioelectrical impedance methods to test the volunteers. Results: Exercise can increase the content of lean body mass in body composition and reduce body fat percentage. The calcaneal bone mineral density of physical education students is positively correlated with low body weight. Conclusion: Exercise can promote the bone mineral density of young adults. Abstract This paper explores the influence of the selection method of the region of interest (ROI) on the results in the total sugar of apple detection based on hyperspectral imaging technology. Taking Fuji apple as the detection object, the hyperspectral images of the samples were collected based on the 900~1750 nm hyperspectral imaging system, and the total sugar content of the samples was obtained based on the anthrone colorimetric method. The square ROI and circular ROI of different sizes were extracted. The average spectrum of the region was used to establish a quantitative analysis model of apple's total sugar content by partial least squares (PLS). The results show that apple's total sugar detection model established by extracting a circular ROI with a diameter of 25 pixels has the highest accuracy and strongest prediction ability(Rc = 0.8977, RMSEC = 0.6459, RP = 0.8836, RMSEP = 0.6627). The research shows that selecting ROI with a suitable shape and size for the research object is of great significance for improving the accuracy of the prediction model of apple's total sugar content and giving play to the advantages of hyperspectral images.

Abstract To understand the research status and current dynamics of fruit quality detection and objectively reflect the influence of different countries, research institutions and authors in this field, the software CiteSpace was used to bibliometrically and visually analyze the relevant literature on fruit quality detection in Web of Science (WoS) database from 1982 to 2021. The results showed that the number of publications on fruit quality detection showed a trend of slow in the early stage, rapid in the middle stage and intensified in the late stage. China has the largest number of international publications, accounting for 21.80% of the WoS database, but its intermediary centrality is inferior to that of the United States, Germany, Italy and Spain; the United States is at the core of international cooperation, establishing cooperative relations with most countries; through keywords co-occurrence network and keyword clustering, it is concluded that the research mainly focuses on fruit quality detection based on spectral technology or electronic nose technology, fruit composition detection based on high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), fruit edible safety detection, and genetic analysis of fruit quality-related traits. Bibliometrics and visual analysis of this fruit quality detection research can provide a certain reference for relevant researchers.
