Resumo A Covid longa é uma condição subsequente da infecção aguda pela Covid-19 com persistência dos sintomas por longo tempo ou agravamento ou surgimento de outras complicações. Apesar da recorrência desse fenômeno há uma invisibilidade diagnóstica. Este ensaio objetiva analisar, sob o ponto de vista da epistemologia médica, as incertezas que circundam esse fenômeno desde a sua atribuição como doença e os sintomas inespecíficos, sobretudo a fadiga, que terminam por influenciar a sua invisibilidade diagnóstica. Esse tipo de análise é uma proposta sintonizada com a abordagem socioantropológica da saúde e doença e da antropologia da biomedicina. Por tratar-se de um problema de saúde global e que se traduz em uma condição incapacitante temporária ou permanente, compreender as razões de sua invisibilidade diagnóstica do ponto de vista da biomedicina ocidental pode auxiliar na sua melhor compreensão e na gestão do seu cuidado. Abstract Long COVID is a condition following the acute Covid-19 infection, with persistence of symptoms for a long time or the worsening or emergence of other complications. Despite the recurrence of this phenomenon, there is a diagnostic invisibility. This essay aims to analyze, from the point of view of the medical epistemology, the uncertainties surrounding this phenomenon from its recognition as a disease, as well as its nonspecific symptoms, especially fatigue, which ultimately influence its diagnostic invisibility. This type of analysis is a proposal in tune with the Socio-anthropological approach to health and disease and the Anthropology of Biomedicine. As it is a global health issue that translates into a temporary or permanent disabling condition, understanding the reasons for its diagnostic invisibility from the point of view of the Western biomedicine can help to better understand it and manage its care. ABSTRACT Objective To estimate vaccination coverage and analyze sociodemographic factors associated with non-vaccination in children born in 2017 and 2018 in the state capitals of Northeast Brazil. Methods A household survey using cluster sampling was conducted from 2020-2022 to estimate vaccination coverage and hesitancy. Factors associated with non-vaccination were analyzed using logistic regression to calculate Odds Ratios (OR) and their Confidence Intervals (95%CI). Results Natal was the capital with the lowest vaccination coverage, below 75.0% for most immunizers. Teresina had rates equal to or greater than 90.0% for all vaccines. Among those interviewed, 99.1% (95%CI 98.9;99.3) believe that vaccines are important for health; 95.4% (95%CI 95.0;95.8) trust immunobiologicals and 79.6% (95%CI% 78.8;80.3) are not afraid of reactions. Belonging to the highest socioeconomic stratum (adjusted OR: 1.34 – 95%CI 1.20;1.50) was as a factor associated with non-vaccination. Conclusion Low coverage highlights the need for a better understanding of regional specificities and social inequalities.

RESUMO Objetivo Estimar a cobertura vacinal e analisar fatores sociodemográficos associados à não vacinação em crianças nascidas vivas em 2017 e 2018 nas capitais do Nordeste brasileiro. Métodos Realizou-se inquérito domiciliar com amostragem por conglomerados, entre 2020 e 2022, para estimar cobertura e hesitação vacinal. Fatores associados à não vacinação foram analisados usando-se regressão logística para calcular odds ratio (OR) e seus intervalos de confiança (IC95%). Resultados A capital com menores coberturas vacinais foi Natal, com < 75,0% para a maioria dos imunizantes; Teresina apresentou coberturas ≥ 90,0% em todos os imunizantes. Dos entrevistados, 99,1% (IC95% 98,9;99,3) acreditavam que vacinas são importantes para a saúde; 95,4% (IC95% 95,0;95,8) confiavam nos imunobiológicos distribuídos pelo governo; e 79,6% (IC95% 78,8;80,3) não tinham medo de reações adversas. Residir em estrato socioeconômico mais alto (OR ajustado: 1,34 – IC95% 1,20;1,50) foi fator associado à não vacinação. Conclusão As baixas coberturas destacam a necessidade de entender melhor as especificidades regionais e as desigualdades sociais.

ABSTRACT Objective To estimate vaccination coverage, identify barriers and hesitancy to vaccinating children up to 24 months, born between 2017-2018, living in the urban area of Rio Branco, Acre, Brazil. Methods Population survey carried out from 2020 to 2021, which assessed sociodemographic characteristics and vaccination status among children. Results Among 451 included children, vaccination coverage was below 80%. Meningococcal C vaccine had the lowest coverage for administered doses (76.3%; 95%CI 70.5;81.3) and doses on time (27.4%; 95%CI 23.1;32.1). The statements “vaccines cause serious adverse reactions” (26.4%; 95%CI 18.1;36.8) and “you don’t need vaccination for diseases that no longer exist” (22%; 95%CI 15.7;29.8) were the most frequent regarding vaccination hesitancy. Lack of vaccines was the main barrier to care (86.6%; 95%CI 71.8;94.3). Conclusion Vaccination coverage in children born in 2017-2018 was below the target recommended for the full schedule of administered doses, both valid and timely administered.

RESUMO Objetivo Estimar a cobertura vacinal, identificar barreiras e hesitação à vacinação em crianças com até 24 meses, nascidas em 2017 e 2018, residentes na área urbana de Rio Branco-AC. Métodos Inquérito populacional realizado de 2020 a 2021, que avaliou as características sociodemográficas e a situação vacinal em crianças nascidas entre 2017 e 2018. Resultados Entre as 451 crianças estudadas, as coberturas vacinais foram inferiores a 80%. A menor cobertura para doses aplicadas (76,3%; IC95% 70,5;81,3) e oportunas (27,4%; IC95% 23,1;32,1) foi para o reforço da meningocócica C. As afirmações “vacinas causam reações adversas graves” (26,4%; IC95% 18,1;36,8) e “não precisa da vacina para doenças que não existem mais” (22%; IC95% 15,7;29,8) foram as mais frequentes quanto à hesitação vacinal. A falta da vacina foi a principal barreira assistencial (86,6%; IC95% 71,8;94,3). Conclusão As coberturas vacinais em crianças nascidas em 2017 e 2018 ficaram abaixo da meta preconizada nos esquemas completos de doses aplicadas, válidas e oportunas.

ABSTRACT Background: The riverine communities of the Amazon comprise different social groups that inhabit the rural areas on the banks of rivers and lakes. Residents usually travel by river to rural and urban areas and are then exposed to urbanized diseases such as those caused by arbovirus infection. In Brazil, emerging diseases such as dengue, Zika, chikungunya, and those caused by infection with Oropouche and Mayaro viruses necessitate epidemiological surveillance. This study was aimed at determining the frequency of positivity for immunoglobulin (Ig)G and IgM antibodies against Zika, chikungunya, and dengue viruses and performing molecular analyses to detect viral RNA for the Zika, chikungunya, dengue virus, Oropouche, and Mayaro viruses, in the same serum samples obtained from riverside populations. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in a riverside population in the Humaitá municipality of the Brazilian Amazon. More than 80% of the local population participated in this study. Entomological samples were collected to identify local mosquito vectors. Results: Analysis of 205 human serological samples revealed IgG antibodies against the dengue virus in 85 individuals. No molecular positivity was observed in human samples. Entomological analyses revealed 3,187 Diptera species, with Mansonia being the most frequent genus. Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus were not detected in the two collections. Conclusions: IgG antibodies against the dengue virus were highly prevalent, suggesting previous exposure. The absence of the arbovirus vectors Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus in the samples supports the hypothesis that the infections recorded likely occurred outside the riverside communities investigated. RESUMO Objetivo: Compreender as representações sociais de pessoas com tuberculose sobre a doença e implicações no tratamento. Método: Estudo descritivo, de abordagem qualitativa, com base na Teoria das Representações Sociais. Realizado em uma unidade municipal de saúde no município de Belém. Os participantes foram pessoas com diagnóstico de tuberculose e em tratamento diretamente observado, cujo quantitativo foi definido pela técnica da saturação de dados. A coleta de dados foi realizada por meio de entrevista semiestruturada. Para análise dos dados utilizou-se a análise temática de conteúdo. Resultados: Os registros convergiram em três categorias: Representações da tuberculose e seus impactos frente ao diagnóstico; as faces do tratamento: desafios frente ao seguimento e esperança; e Construções do conviver com a doença em família e sociedade. Considerações finais: O conviver com a doença transforma o cotidiano e as relações. A discriminação e preconceito denotam a necessidade de reconfigurar tais representações, para o doente ser acolhido. ABSTRACT Objective: To understand the social representations of people with tuberculosis about the disease and its implications for following treatment. ABSTRACT Objective: To evaluate symptoms, lung function, and quality of life of a cohort of patients hospitalized for severe COVID-19 12 months after hospital admission. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study. We included severe COVID-19 survivors hospitalized in one of three tertiary referral hospitals for COVID-19 in the city of Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Participants were submitted to lung function and six-minute walk tests and completed the EQ-5D-3L questionnaire. Results: The whole sample comprised 189 COVID-19 survivors (mean age = 59.6 ± 13.4 years) who had been admitted to a ward only (n = 96; 50.8%) or to an ICU (n = 93; 49.2%). At 12 months of follow-up, 43% of patients presented with dyspnea, 27% of whom had a restrictive ventilatory disorder and 18% of whom presented with impaired DLCO. There were no significant differences in FVC, FEV1, and TLC between the survivors with or without dyspnea. However, those who still had dyspnea had significantly more impaired DLCO (14.9% vs. 22.4%; p < 0.020) and poorer quality of life. Conclusions: After one year, survivors of severe COVID-19 in a middle-income country still present with high symptom burden, restrictive ventilatory changes, and loss of quality of life. Ongoing follow-up is needed to characterize long COVID-19 and identify strategies to mitigate its consequences. This article analyzes how Nature-based Solutions are integrated into the urban agenda in Brazilian cities. We sought to understand the co-benefits of those strategies, the main facilitators, their potentials and limitations. This article fills in the gaps of the research on Nature-based Solutions through a political science approach, providing more elements to analyze climate governance in the urban context and is based on the experiences in the Brazilian context. We analyzed two cases in depth, namely the cities of Campinas and Santos. We analyzed official government documents and attended events and meetings that took place between local governments and partner institutions. The results showed that Nature-based Solutions are being integrated into urban planning and development through existing sectoral policies and the regulation of specific policies. Specific institutional arrangements directed towards the challenges of environmental change were important facilitators of the strategies in both cities, driven mainly by the participation of local governments in projects led by cooperation networks of municipalities and international cooperation agencies. We verified a potential for social innovation based on the inclusion of gender issues, the involvement of vulnerable social groups in the planning of actions and a greater understanding of ecosystem services and the co-benefits of NbS, mainly by public managers. The strategies have the potential to be replicated, which generates social learning. There are knowledge gaps regarding the co-benefits of the analyzed strategies, as well as the generated impacts. BACKGROUND The Golden Syrian hamster (Mesocricetus auratus), Ferrets (Mustela putorius furo), and macaques have been described as useful laboratory animals naturally susceptible to severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection. OBJECTIVES To study the mechanism of lung injury, we describe the histopathological features of SARS-CoV-2 infection in Golden Syrian hamsters inoculated intranasally with the A.2 Brazilian strain. METHODS Hamsters were intranasally inoculated with the A.2 variant and euthanised at 3-, 5-, 10- and 15-days post-inoculation. The physical examination and body weight were recorded daily. Neutralising antibodies and viral RNA load of the respiratory tract were assessed during necropsies. FINDINGS The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) model presented body weight loss, high levels of respiratory viral RNA load, severe segmentary pneumonitis, and bronchial fistula besides lymphatic trapping and infiltration, like the human SARS-COV-2 pathogenesis. The presence of subepithelial lymphoeosinophilic infiltrate was highlighted in our results; it contributed to the detachment of SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid-positive epithelial cells resulting in the infectious cell plugs. MAIN CONCLUSIONS The SARS-CoV-2 caused segmentary pneumonia and vascular damage. In our comprehension, the infectious cell plugs, as being aspirated from the upper respiratory tract into the terminal bronchial lumen, work as a “Trojan horse”, thus contributing to the dissemination of the SARS-CoV-2 infection into specific regions of the deep lung parenchyma. RESUMO Objetivo Analisar a cobertura vacinal contra sarampo, caxumba e rubéola em crianças até 24 meses de idade e os fatores associados à não vacinação em coorte de nascidos-vivos em 2017-2018, em capitais e municípios de grande porte populacional do interior do Nordeste brasileiro. Métodos Inquérito domiciliar populacional com análise de cobertura vacinal e fatores sociodemográficos por regressão logística. Resultados Em 12.137 crianças, cobertura vacinal de 79,3% (IC95% 76,5;81,8) e taxa de abandono de 10,6%. ABSTRACT Objective To analyze measles, mumps, and rubella vaccination coverage among children up to 24 months old and factors associated with non-vaccination in a 2017−2018 live birth cohort, in state capitals and large interior region cities in Northeast Brazil. Methods Population-based survey analyzing vaccination coverage and sociodemographic factors through logistic regression. Abstract Hypertensive individuals present alterations in their calcium metabolism that consequently decrease the concentration of this mineral in the bone tissue. Objectives to evaluate the morphological and functional characteristics of the peri-implant bone tissue that was formed during the healing process by the placement implants using two different surface treatments: hydrophilic Acqua™ (ACQ) and rough NeoPoros™ (NEO), in spontaneously hypertensive (SHR) and normotensive rats (Wistar) whether or not treated with losartan. Methodology In total, 96 male rats (48 Wistar and 48 SHR) were divided into eight subgroups: absolute control rough (COA NEO), absolute control hydrophilic (COA ACQ), losartan control rough (COL NEO), losartan control hydrophilic (COL ACQ), SHR absolute rough (SHR NEO), SHR absolute hydrophilic (SHR ACQ), SHR losartan rough (SHRL NEO), and SHR losartan hydrophilic (SHRL ACQ). The rats medicated with losartan received daily doses of the medication. NeoPoros™ and Acqua™ implants were installed in the tibiae of the rats. After 14 and 42 days of the surgery, the fluorochromes calcein and alizarin were injected in the rats. The animals were euthanized 67 days after treatment. The collected samples were analyzed by immunohistochemistry, biomechanics, microcomputerized tomography, and laser confocal scanning microscopy analysis. Results The osteocalcin (OC) and vascular endothelium growth factor (VEGF) proteins had moderate expression in the SHRL ACQ subgroup. The same subgroup also had the highest implant removal torque. Regarding microarchitectural characteristics, a greater number of trabeculae was noted in the control animals that were treated with losartan. In the bone mineralization activity, it was observed that the Acqua™ surface triggered higher values of MAR (mineral apposition rate) in the COA, COL, and SHRL groups (p<0.05). ABSTRACT The mangaba Hancornia speciosa Gomes (Apocynaceae) is more commercially viable than other native Cerrado fruit trees due to its nutritional properties and high production of fruit used in food products. Although thrips have been reported injuring mangaba, the identification of possible species of economic importance is not yet available. Thus, identifying species that may threaten mangaba plant health is a vital step in implementing management strategies. The aim of this present study was to survey thrips species during the reproductive stage of H. speciosa, determine the variety most susceptible to damage caused by these insects and to check whether the damage is economically important to this fruit tree. Thrips were collected from the ex-situ germplasm of the Agronomy School of the Federal University of Goiás, in Goiás state, Brazil. Twelve plants of three H. speciosa varieties (gardneri, cuyabensis and pubescens) were selected, from which 20 flowers and 20 fruits were assessed for the presence of thrips in September 2018 and 2019. A total of 1,306 thrips representing 13 species were collected from flowers. Of these, Frankliniella gemina was the most abundant. On the fruits, circular lesions were observed, initially as white spots that subsequently turned silver, possibly caused by Heliothrips longisensibilis. These injuries are superficial, rarely compromising large portions of the fruit, and do not cause economic damage. Therefore, thrips are not a primary threat to fruit production for fresh consumption or processing. Método: Revisão sistemática, realizada de junho a outubro de 2022, nas bases de dados: MEDLINE/PubMed, Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde, Excerpta Medica database, Cumulative Index to Nursingand Allied Health Literature, Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde, PsycINFO, Web of Science, Scopus, Science Direct e Google Scholar. A seleção, a extração dos dados e a avaliação da qualidade metodológica, por meio da ferramenta Methodological Index for Non-randomized Studies, foram realizadas. Considerando que a maioria dos estudos avaliados apresentaram diferenças metodológicas significativas, optou-se por realizar síntese qualitativa dos dados. Resultados: Foram encontrados 2112 artigos, dos quais foram selecionados oito artigos que analisaram o impacto da pandemia da COVID-19 no comportamento suicida de pessoas adultas. ABSTRACT Objective: To analyze the scientific evidence on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on suicidal behavior in adults. Method: Systematic review, conducted from June to October 2022, in the following databases: MEDLINE/PubMed, Virtual Health Library, Excerpta Medica database, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature, PsycINFO, Web of Science, Scopus, Science Direct and Google Scholar. RESUMEN Objetivo: Analizar la evidencia científica sobre el impacto de la pandemia de COVID-19 en la conducta suicida en adultos. Método: Revisión sistemática, realizada de junio a octubre de 2022, en las siguientes bases de datos: MEDLINE/PubMed, Virtual Health Library, Excerpta Medica database, CumulativeIndex to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature, PsycINFO, Web of Science, Scopus, Science Direct y Google Scholar. Los datos fueron seleccionados, extraídos y la calidad metodológica evaluada utilizando la herramienta Methodological Index for Non-randomised Studies. Teniendo en cuenta que la mayoría de los estudios evaluados presentaban diferencias metodológicas significativas, se decidió realizar una síntesis cualitativa de los datos. Resultados: Se encontraron 2112 artículos, de los cuales se seleccionaron 8 artículos que analizaban el impacto de la pandemia COVID-19 sobre el comportamiento suicida en adultos. Conclusión: La pandemia del COVID-19 ha influido en el comportamiento suicida de adultos de todo el mundo, especialmente cuando se relaciona con la raza, el sexo, la edad, la religión, los problemas socioeconómicos, familiares y legales y los trastornos mentales preexistentes, lo que ha provocado una mayor propensión al suicidio. ABSTRACT Dengue is a disease with a high-impact on public health worldwide. Many researches have focused on the cell receptors involved in its pathogenesis. The role of soluble isoforms of DC-SIGN (Dendritic Cell-Specific ICAM-3 Grabbing Non-integrin) receptor in the process of Dengue Virus (DENV) infection is not well understood. This work proposes to evaluate changes in the infection process of Immature Dendritic Cells (iDCs) by DENV in the presence of DC-SIGN recombinant soluble isoforms 8, 10, and 12. The recombinant isoforms were built by heterologous expression, the DENV-2 was multiplied in the Aedes albopictus C6/36 cells and quantified in BHK-21 cells, and the iDCs were produced from the THP-1 strain. Infection assays were performed in the presence of iDCs, DENV-2, and isoforms 8, 10, and 12 separately at 25, 50 and 100 ng/mL. The final viral load was estimated by qPCR and statistical analysis was performed by Kruskal-Wallis and ANOVA tests. The iDC profile was confirmed by increasing expression of CD11c, CD86, and CD209 surface markers and maintaining CD14 expression. Infection assays demonstrated a 23-fold increase in DENV viral load in the presence of isoforms 8 and 10 at 100 ng/mL compared to the viral control (p < 0.05), while isoform 12 did not alter the viral load. Resumo Objetivo Analisar os fatores associados aos óbitos por coinfecção tuberculose/HIV em pessoas privadas de liberdade. Métodos Estudo de coorte retrospectiva, realizado no estado de São Paulo no período de 2008 a 2017. A população de estudo foi composta pelas pessoas com coinfecção tuberculose/HIV em privação de liberdade. Os dados foram coletados do Sistema de Controle de Pacientes com Tuberculose TB-WEB em linkage com o Sistema de Informação Sobre Mortalidade. O risco de ocorrência do óbito segundo as variáveis sociodemográficas, clínicas e de tratamento foi estabelecido pelo risco relativo e respectivos intervalos de confiança 95%. Resultados Foram identificados 100 óbitos por tuberculose e/ou HIV no período, os quais estiveram associados a: indivíduos pertencentes à Coordenadoria Regional do Vale do Paraíba/Litoral (risco relativo 2,59; intervalo de confiança 95% 1,35-4,94); faixas etárias de 30 a 39 anos (risco relativo 2,49; intervalo de confiança 95% 1,04-5,96), 40 a 49 anos (risco relativo 7,09; intervalo de confiança 95% 3,06-19,06) e 50 a 59 anos (risco relativo 14,11; intervalo de confiança 95% 5,91-33,69); tratamento autoadministrado (risco relativo 1,94; intervalo de confiança 95% 1,16-3,27); ocorrência de internação (risco relativo 2,62; intervalo de confiança 95% 1,69-4,07). Abstract Objective to analyze the factors associated with deaths due to tuberculosis/HIV co-infection in people deprived of their freedom. Methods Retrospective cohort study, carried out in the state of São Paulo from 2008 to 2017. The study population was made up of people with tuberculosis/HIV co-infection in deprivation of their freedom. Data were collected from the TB-WEB Tuberculosis Patient Control System in linkage with the Mortality Information System. The risk of death according to sociodemographic, clinical and treatment variables was established by relative risk and respective 95% confidence intervals. Results 100 deaths from tuberculosis and/or HIV were identified in the period, which were associated with: individuals belonging to the Regional Coordination of Vale do Paraíba/in the coast (relative risk 2.59; 95% confidence interval 1.35-4, 94); age groups 30 to 39 years old (relative risk 2.49; 95% confidence interval 1.04-5.96), 40 to 49 years old (relative risk 7.09; 95% confidence interval 3.06-19, 06) and 50 to 59 years old (relative risk 14.11; 95% confidence interval 5.91-33.69); self-administered treatment (relative risk 1.94; 95% confidence interval 1.16-3.27); and occurrence of hospitalization (relative risk 2.62; 95% confidence interval 1.69-4.07). Resumen Objetivo Analizar los factores asociados a los fallecimientos por coinfección tuberculosis/VIH en personas privadas de la libertad. Métodos Estudio de cohorte retrospectiva, realizado en el estado de São Paulo durante el período de 2008 a 2017. La población del estudio estuvo compuesta por personas con coinfección tuberculosis/VIH privadas de la libertad. Los datos fueron recopilados del Sistema de Control de Pacientes con Tuberculosis TB-WEB, conectado con el Sistema de Información sobre Mortalidad. El riesgo de casos de fallecimiento según variables sociodemográficas, clínicas y de tratamiento se estableció por el riesgo relativo y respectivos intervalos de confianza 95 %. Resultados Se identificaron 100 muertes por tuberculosis o VIH en el período, las cuales se asociaron a los siguientes factores: individuos pertenecientes a la Coordinación Regional de Vale do Paraíba/Litoral (riesgo relativo 2,59; intervalo de confianza 95 % 1,35-4,94); grupo de edad de 30 a 39 años (riesgo relativo 2,49; intervalo de confianza 95 % 1,04-5,96), de 40 a 49 años (riesgo relativo 7,09; intervalo de confianza 95 % 3,06-19,06) y de 50 a 59 años (riesgo relativo 14,11; intervalo de confianza 95 % 5,91-33,69); tratamiento autoadministrado (riesgo relativo 1,94; intervalo de confianza 95 % 1,16-3,27), y casos de internación (riesgo relativo 2,62; intervalo de confianza 95 % 1,69-4,07). ABSTRACT Currently, COVID-19 and tuberculosis (TB) are the deadliest infectious diseases worldwide. Their synergy, form of presentation, morbidity, and mortality are data that have been scarcely explored. Thus, this study aimed to characterize the clinical, epidemiological, and laboratory factors of this co-infection and to analyze the factors associated with the active TB among COVID-19 cases. A case-control study was conducted with a retrospective survey of 21 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19/TB co-infected patients (case group) and 21 COVID-19 patients (control group). The study included participants from eight hospitals in Campo Grande city, capital of Mato Grosso do Sul State, Brazil, from March 2020 to March 2022. Association analysis and binomial logistic regression were employed with statistical significance set at p≤0.05. From the 21 identified cases of COVID-19/TB co-infection, we found a more frequent association with HIV infection than the control-group, without worsening the outcome. COVID-19/TB patients had less dyspnea and less need for mechanical ventilation compared to the cases with COVID-19 only. On the other hand, COVID-19/TB patients had higher levels of C-reactive protein and lower hemoglobin levels, the latter variable was independently associated with COVID-19/TB. Among the clinical differences presented among COVID-19/TB co-infected patients, despite the association with HIV and lower clinical repercussions, only lower hemoglobin levels were associated with COVID-19/TB.
