Resumo O uso de painéis sanduíche na construção civil é uma alternativa viável na busca por materiais com baixo peso próprio, menor condutividade térmica e resistentes à compressão. Para aumentar a sustentabilidade dessa solução, é preciso substituir o reforço de aço das faces e o núcleo em EPS por materiais que apresentem menor custo energético e redução da emissão de gases do efeito estufa durante a produção. Nesse contexto, o presente trabalho tem como objetivo, desenvolver um painel sanduíche com núcleo de concreto leve feito com endocarpo do dendê em substituição do agregado graúdo convencional e faces com argamassa reforçada com fibras curtas de sisal. O bioconcreto foi produzido com dois teores de endocarpo do dendê (100% e 150% da massa de aglomerante) e duas relações água/aglomerante, de 0,35 e 0,45. O aumento do teor de endocarpo resulta em aumento da absorção de água e redução da resistência mecânica, mas os painéis apresentaram massa específica menor que 1480 kg/m³ e resistência a compressão maior que 7 MPa o que os qualifica para uso como alvenaria de vedação. Abstract The use of sandwich panels in construction is a viable alternative in the search for materials with low self-weight, lower thermal conductivity, and resistance to compression. To increase the sustainability of this solution, it is necessary to replace the steel reinforcement of the faces and the EPS core with materials that have lower energy costs and reduce greenhouse gas emissions during production. In this context, this study aims to develop a sandwich panel with a lightweight concrete core made from oil palm endocarp as a substitute for conventional coarse aggregate and faces with mortar reinforced with short sisal fibers. The bioconcrete was produced with two levels of oil palm endocarp (100% and 150% of the binder mass) and two water/binder ratios, 0.35 and 0.45. The increase in the content of endocarp results in increased water absorption and reduced mechanical strength, but the panels had a specific mass lower than 1480 kg/m³ and compressive strength greater than 7 MPa, qualifying them for use as infill masonry. Scientific press releases are reaching the public directly through press reproduction or institutional dissemination. Science News Agencies (SNAs) mediate this process, distributing texts to thousands of journalists while also "leaking" them on their websites and social media. This comparative case study examines four SNAs — BORI, SMC UK, AlphaGalileo, and EurekAlert! — regarding their role in circulating public scientific information. Through literature review and principles such as openness and inclusion in science, we converted scholars' concerns into a preliminary index potentially capable of assessing SNAs' public suitability. The SNAPI (Science News Agencies Public Index) suggests a shift from purely public relations content towards serving the public interest, highlighting areas needing attention in SNAs' social function, to be refined in future research. Clear guidelines, links to open scientific articles, and explicit notices on press releases’ purposes are simple yet effective ways to address issues concerning science public relations' pervasiveness in the public sphere.

Resumo As síndromes poliglandulares autoimunes (PAS) são um grupo complexo e heterogéneo de doenças caracterizado pela combinação de duas ou mais disfunções endócrinas autoimunes. É apresentado o caso de uma adolescente de 16 anos de idade com história de astenia, prostração e perda de peso, que foi diagnosticada com hipotiroidismo e anemia ferropénica. Duas semanas após ter iniciado tratamento com levotiroxina e ferro, desenvolveu insuficiência suprarrenal com náuseas e vómitos. Os níveis de cortisol baixo e hormona adrenocorticotrópica elevada e presença de anticorpos anti-suprarrenal e antiperoxidase tiroideia positivos confirmaram o diagnóstico de síndrome poliglandular autoimune tipo 2 (PAS-2). O tratamento com hidrocortisona, fludrocortisona e levotiroxina levou à remissão dos sintomas A PAS-2 é uma condição rara, sendo necessária uma elevada suspeita clínica para a mesma, dado que a maioria dos sintomas são inespecíficos. O diagnóstico precoce pode prevenir complicações potencialmente fatais.

Abstract Autoimmune polyglandular syndromes (PAS) are a complex and heterogeneous group of diseases characterized by the combination of two or more endocrine or non-endocrine organ dysfunctions. Herein is presented the case of a 16-year-old female with a history of asthenia, prostration, and weight loss who was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and iron deficiency anemia. Two weeks after starting therapy with levothyroxine and iron, she developed an adrenal crisis with nausea and vomiting. Low cortisol, elevated adrenocorticotropic hormone, and positive antiadrenal and antithyroid peroxidase antibodies confirmed the diagnosis of autoimmune polyglandular syndrome type 2 (PAS-2). Symptoms resolved with hydrocortisone, fludrocortisone, and levothyroxine. PAS-2 is a rare but potentially serious disorder. A high clinical suspicion is required, as most symptoms are nonspecific. Early diagnosis may prevent life-threatening complications.

Abstract Introduction: Primary Health Care plays a crucial role in the support of women experiencing domestic violence, serving as the entry point for users. Objective: To understand the perceptions of healthcare professionals regarding the care provided to women experiencing domestic violence. Methodology: A descriptive-exploratory qualitative study conducted in August 2023 with 20 healthcare professionals in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul. Results: The professionals revealed a lack of knowledge about how to handle and the existing flow in the municipality, difficulties in attending to women who are victims of domestic violence, and strategies for managing care for these women. The underreporting of domestic violence is attributed to professionals' inexperience and lack of training, as well as obstacles such as inadequate physical infrastructure and work overload. Final Considerations: It is suggested to reflect on creating a flowchart in Primary Health Care, developing guiding protocols, and the continuous development of tools and training. Further research is essential.

Resumo Introdução: A Atenção Primária em Saúde desempenha um papel crucial no atendimento de mulheres em situação de violência doméstica, sendo a porta de entrada para as usuárias. Objetivo: compreender a percepção de profissionais da saúde sobre o atendimento às mulheres em situação de violência doméstica. Metodologia: Estudo qualitativo descritivo-exploratório, realizado em agosto de 2023 com 20 profissionais de saúde em Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul. Resultados: Os profissionais revelaram desconhecimento sobre como lidar e de fluxo existente no município, dificuldades no atendimento das mulheres vítimas de violência doméstica e estratégias para conduzir o atendimento às mulheres vítimas de violência doméstica. A subnotificação da violência doméstica é atribuída à inexperiência e falta de capacitação dos profissionais, além de obstáculos como estrutura física inadequada e sobrecarga de trabalho. Considerações finais: Sugere-se a reflexão sobre a criação de um fluxograma na Atenção Primária em Saúde, protocolos orientadores, o desenvolvimento contínuo de ferramentas e capacitações e mais pesquisas são essenciais.

Resumo: Investigações recentes têm revelado ligações teóricas e empíricas entre o respeito e aspetos socio-emocionais, tais como as emoções morais, a pró-socialidade, bem como, associações negativas com a agressão. A capacidade de simpatizar, de sentir preocupação e de estar consciente das circunstâncias e dos estados do outro, também tem sido considerada um potencial influenciador na forma como as crianças conceptualizam o respeito e avaliam os comportamentos enquanto dignos de respeito. O desenvolvimento do respeito deriva da capacidade de reconhecer o outro como indivíduo com necessidades, sentimentos e desejos únicos. Do mesmo modo, tal como o respeito, a simpatia também tem sido associada a interações mais altruístas e mais amáveis. O presente estudo tem como objetivo explorar a ligação entre estes dois construtos socio-emocionais - respeito e simpatia - tendo em conta possíveis nuances culturais. Cinquenta e três crianças responderam à Entrevista sobre o Respeito, que se debruçava sobre as suas conceptualizações, avaliações e raciocínios subjacentes ao respeito (o conceito, as expressões e os exemplos de sentimentos de respeito por parte dos outros), e à Escala de Simpatia. Os pais também reportaram sobre a simpatia e os dados sociodemográficos dos seus filhos. O efeito positivo entre a simpatia e o respeito só foi parcialmente confirmado. A simpatia revelou um efeito positivo nas conceptualizações pró-sociais do respeito (χ2=3.85, p<.05; b=.90). Em contrapartida, as crianças que utilizaram temas de autoridade para definir expressões de respeito foram menos simpáticas [t(51)=-1.86, p<.05]. As diferenças sociodemográficas foram consideradas e discutidas aquando da análise de ambas as variáveis. Os nossos resultados estão de acordo com a literatura anterior e contribuem para o conhecimento neste domínio ao replicar o estudo numa cultura e numa faixa etária diferentes.

Abstract: Recent research has revealed theorical and empirical links between respect and socioemotional outcomes such as moral emotions and prosociality, as well as negative associations with aggression. The ability to sympathize, feel concern, and be aware of other’s states has also been hypothesized to influence how children conceptualize respect and evaluate behaviors as worthy of respect. The development of respect derives from the ability to recognize others as individuals with unique needs, feelings, and desires. Similarly, like respect, sympathy has also been associated with more altruistic and kinder interactions. The present study aims to explore the link between these two socioemotional constructs - respect and sympathy - while considering possible cultural nuances. Fifty-three children answered the Respect Interview which delved into their conceptualizations, evaluations, and reasonings behind respect (the concept, expressions, and examples of feeling respect from others), and the Sympathy Scale. Parents also reported on their children’s sympathy and sociodemographic data. A positive effect between sympathy and respect was only partially confirmed. Sympathy revealed a positive effect on prosocial conceptualizations of respect (χ2=3.85, p<.05; b=.90). In contrast, children who used authority themes to define expressions of respect, were less sympathetic [t(51)=-1.86, p<.05]. Sociodemographic differences were considered and discussed when analysing both variables. Our results are in line with previous literature and contribute to knowledge in this field by replicating the study in a different culture and age range.

Resumo Introdução: A promoção da literacia em saúde é crucial para que os utentes possam tomar decisões adequadas em matéria de saúde, promovendo uma utilização mais eficiente dos recursos e contribuindo para a sua sustentabilidade. Objetivos: Promover a literacia em saúde entre os utentes de seis Unidades de Saúde Familiar (USF) no Norte de Portugal acerca da organização e estrutura dos cuidados de saúde primários (CSP) e a especialidade médica de medicina geral e familiar (MGF). Métodos: Estudo observacional, prospetivo, do tipo coorte. Foram aplicados questionários em formato Google® Docs a utentes com 18 ou mais anos, que preenchiam os critérios de inclusão, antes e após um mês da intervenção. A intervenção consistiu na visualização de um vídeo formativo preparado pelos autores acerca da organização e os recursos dos CSP e a especialidade de MGF. Resultados: O questionário pré-intervenção foi preenchido por 274 utentes, 165 visualizaram o vídeo educativo e 113 preencheram o questionário pós-intervenção. Apenas 88 utilizadores participaram em todas as fases do projeto e foram considerados elegíveis para a interpretação dos resultados. Após a intervenção verificou-se uma melhoria estatisticamente significativa na classificação geral obtida no questionário, com um aumento na percentagem de respostas corretas de 66,7% para 72,7% (p=0,004; IC 95%). Verificou-se também um aumento na taxa de respostas corretas em quase todas as questões aplicadas. Discussão e Conclusão: A literacia em saúde ajuda os cidadãos a tomar melhores decisões em relação à sua saúde, com um consequente impacto económico e social. Este projeto culminou na criação de uma ferramenta multimédia capaz de melhorar os conhecimentos dos utentes portugueses acerca dos CSP, passível de ser replicada noutros locais do País.

Abstract Introduction: Promoting health literacy is essential for patients to make informed healthcare decisions, ensuring more efficient resource utilization and contributing to long-term sustainability. Objectives: Enhance health literacy among patients in six health units in Northern Portugal, focusing on the organization and structure of primary healthcare services (PHC) and the medical specialty of general practice/family medicine (GPFM). Methods: An observational, prospective cohort study was conducted. Questionnaires in Google® Docs format were administered to patients aged 18 and older who met the inclusion criteria, both before and one month after the intervention. The intervention involved watching an educational video created by the authors about PHC's organization, resources, and GPFM specialty. Results: The pre-intervention questionnaire received responses from 274 patients, with 165 of them viewing the educational video and 113 completing the post-intervention questionnaire. Eighty-eight participants engaged in all phases of the project and were considered eligible for result analysis. After the intervention, there was a statistically significant improvement in the overall questionnaire score, with the percentage of correct answers increasing from 66.7% to 72.7% (p=0.004; CI 95%). Correct answer rates also improved across most of the questions. Discussion and Conclusion: Health literacy empowers individuals to make informed health choices, resulting in economic and social benefits. This project led to the creation of a multimedia tool that can enhance the understanding of Portuguese patients regarding PHC, with potential for replication in other regions of the country.

RESUMO Em decorrência de complicações, da biocompatibilidade e da escassez de tecido doador para transplantes de córnea natural, foram elaboradas córneas artificiais que são potenciais para reabilitar funções ópticas. Nessa perspectiva, objetivou-se a análise da eficácia da reabilitação visual entre os implantes: Boston tipo I, Boston tipo II, Aurolab, osteo-odonto-ceratoprótese e ceratoprótese de Osso Tibial. De modo geral, a princípio observou-se uma tendência de melhoria da Best-corrected visual acuity em todos os tipos de lentes, mas considerável queda durante acompanhamento a longo prazo. ABSTRACT Due to the development of complications and the biocompatibility and scarcity of transplant donor tissues, artificial corneas, which can be used for the rehabilitation of optical functions, have been developed. The current study aimed to analyze the visual rehabilitation effects of the Boston type I keratoprosthesis, Boston type II keratoprosthesis, Aurolab keratoprosthesis, osteo-odonto-keratoprosthesis, and tibial bone keratoprosthesis. Results showed that the Boston type I keratoprosthesis was the most effective for visual rehabilitation in patients with moist ocular surfaces. Abstract Transgender people are exposed to different situations of vulnerability that intersect, having negative impacts on the health-illness-care process. To better understand this issue, we sought to know the experiences of seven transgender undergraduates at a public university in Minas Gerais, from semi-structured interviews. The narratives were analyzed on the perspective of content analysis, and the final categories juxtaposed with studies of social sciences and public health. In general, the narratives are different from those which account for most of the research on the theme in Brazil, especially regarding maintaining family bonds and the access to public universities. Hence, we formulated the hypothesis that the interaction between these elements and other markers of differences can positively contribute to establishing alliances and strategies to deal with the regime of gender identity intelligibility and the constraints of access to education, work, and health. Resumo As pessoas trans estão expostas a diferentes situações de vulnerabilidade que se entrecruzam, causando impactos negativos no processo saúde-doença-cuidado. Para melhor compreender essa questão, buscamos conhecer as experiências de sete estudantes trans de uma universidade pública de Minas Gerais, a partir de entrevistas norteadas por roteiro semiestruturado. As falas foram analisadas pela perspectiva da análise de conteúdo, e as categorias finais foram tensionadas com estudos das ciências sociais e da saúde coletiva. De forma geral, as narrativas se diferenciaram daquelas que compõem a maioria das pesquisas sobre o tema no Brasil, sobretudo em relação à manutenção de vínculos familiares e ao acesso à universidade pública. Nesse sentido, formulamos a hipótese de que a interação desses elementos com outros marcadores de diferenças pode contribuir positivamente para o estabelecimento de alianças e estratégias, a fim de lidar com o regime de inteligibilidade das identidades de gênero e com as dificuldades de acesso à educação, ao trabalho e à saúde. Resumo Um macho de Pteronura brasiliensis (Carnivora: Mustelidae) foi encontrado morto às margens do Rio Negro, no Pantanal do estado de Mato Grosso do Sul, município de Aquidauana. Dois carrapatos encontrados aderidos à sua pele foram identificados, morfologicamente, como uma ninfa de segundo ínstar de Ornithodoros rostratus (Argasidae) e um macho de Amblyomma sculptum (Ixodidae). Para complementar a identificação morfológica, esses espécimes de carrapatos foram submetidos à extração de DNA e testados por meio de ensaios de PCR, para confirmar a identidade molecular dos espécimes. Além disso, os extraídos dos carrapatos foram testados e revelaram-se negativos nos ensaios de PCR para todos os patógenos testados. Também foram examinados 30 lotes, compostos por 174 indivíduos de O. rostratus, depositados na Coleção Acari do Instituto Butantan, e encontramos material de quatro estados brasileiros, incluindo-se um lote contendo 2 machos e 2 fêmeas de Aquidauana, estado de Mato Grosso do Sul (MS), coletado do solo. Este foi, portanto, o primeiro registro de O. rostratus parasitando P. brasiliensis e o primeiro registro de localidade (Aquidauana). Abstract A male of Pteronura brasiliensis (Carnivora: Mustelidae) was found dead on the banks of the Rio Negro, in the Pantanal wetlands of Mato Grosso do Sul state, Aquidauana municipality. Two ticks found attached to its skin were morphologically identified as a second-instar nymph of Ornithodoros rostratus (Argasidae) and a male of Amblyomma sculptum (Ixodidae). In order to complement the morphological identification, these tick specimens were subjected to DNA extraction, and tested using PCR assays to confirm the molecular identity the specimens. Also, the tick DNA samples were tested and were negative in the PCR assays for all the pathogens tested. We also examined 30 batches, consisting of 174 individuals of O. rostratus deposited in the Acari Collection of the Butantan Institute, and we found material from four Brazilian states, including one batch containing 2 males and 2 females from Aquidauana, of Mato Grosso do Sul state, collected from the soil. This was therefore the first record of O. rostratus parasitizing P. brasiliensis and the first locality record (Aquidauana). Resumo Antecedentes A meningoencefalite infecciosa é uma condição clínica potencialmente fatal que causa inflamação do sistema nervoso central secundária à instalação de diversos microrganismos. O painel de meningite/encefalite FilmArray permite a detecção simultânea de 14 patógenos, com resultados em cerca de uma hora. Objetivo Este estudo baseia-se em avaliar retrospectivamente a implementação do painel de meningite/encefalite FilmArray em ambiente hospitalar, destacando os resultados gerais e, principalmente, analisando a consistência dos resultados do teste frente às condições clínicas e laboratoriais dos pacientes. Métodos Os dados foram coletados por meio dos resultados relatados pelo software do sistema BioFire FilmArray do painel de meningite/encefalite. Os exames laboratoriais correlacionados utilizados em nossa análise, quando disponíveis, incluíram exames bioquímicos, citológicos, microbiológicos diretos e indiretos. Resultados No período analisado, foram 496 amostras com resultados divulgados. Do total de 496 amostras analisadas, 88 (17,75%) foram consideradas positivas e 90 patógenos foram detectados, sendo que em duas destas (2,27%) houve codetecção de patógenos. Os vírus foram os agentes mais frequentemente encontrados dentro do total de patógenos detectados. Das 496 amostras analisadas, 20 (4,03%) foram repetidas, sendo 5 repetidas por resultado inválido, 6 pela detecção de múltiplos patógenos e 9 por discordância dos resultados do painel com os demais exames laboratoriais e/ou divergência do quadro clínico-epidemiológico. Destas 20 amostras repetidas, apenas 4 delas (20%) mantiveram o resultado original após a repetição do teste, sendo 16 (80%) não reprodutíveis. O principal fator relacionado à discordância destas 16 amostras na retestagem foi a detecção de agentes bacterianos sem qualquer relação com os demais exames laboratoriais ou com o quadro clínico dos pacientes. Abstract Background Infectious meningoencephalitis is a potentially fatal clinical condition that causes inflammation of the central nervous system secondary to the installation of different microorganisms. The FilmArray meningitis/encephalitis panel allows the simultaneous detection of 14 pathogens with results in about one hour. Objective This study is based on retrospectively evaluating the implementation of the FilmArray meningitis/encephalitis panel in a hospital environment, highlighting the general results and, especially, analyzing the consistency of the test results against the clinical and laboratory conditions of the patients. Methods Data were collected through the results reported by the BioFire FilmArray system software from the meningitis/encephalitis panel. The correlated laboratory tests used in our analysis, when available, included biochemical, cytological, direct and indirect microbiological tests. Results In the analyzed period, there were 496 samples with released results. Of the total of 496 samples analyzed, 88 (17.75%) were considered positive, and 90 pathogens were detected, and in 2 of these (2.27%) there was co-detection of pathogens. Viruses were the agents most frequently found within the total number of pathogens detected. Of the 496 proven samples, 20 (4.03%) were repeated, 5 of which were repeated due to invalid results, 6 due to the detection of multiple pathogens and 9 due to disagreement between the panel results and the other laboratory tests and/or divergence of the clinical-epidemiological picture. Of these 20 repeated samples, only 4 of them (20%) maintained the original result after repeating the test, with 16 (80%) being non-reproducible. The main factor related to the disagreement of these 16 samples during retesting was the detection of bacterial agents without any relationship with other laboratory tests or with the patients' clinical condition. Resumo Antecedentes A chikungunya é uma doença transmitida por mosquitos causada pelo vírus chikungunya (CHIKV) e pode levar a complicações neurológicas em casos graves. Objetivo Este estudo examinou padrões de neuroimagem em casos de chikungunya durante dois surtos no Brasil para identificar padrões específicos para o diagnóstico e tratamento de neurochikungunya. Métodos Oito pacientes com chikungunya confirmada e envolvimento neurológico foram incluídos. Exames clínicos e ressonâncias magnéticas (RM) foram realizados, e os achados foram analisados por neurorradiologistas. Dados sobre idade, sexo, sintomas neurológicos, testes diagnósticos, achados de RM e desfechos clínicos foram registrados. Resultados Os pacientes apresentaram diferentes padrões de neuroimagem. Seis pacientes apresentaram um "padrão de mostrador de relógio" com lesões pontilhadas hiperintensas na periferia da medula espinhal. Um paciente apresentou espessamento e realce das raízes nervosas anteriores. A RM do cérebro revelou múltiplas lesões hiperintensas na substância branca, especialmente no bulbo em seis pacientes. Conclusão O "padrão de mostrador de relógio" observado na RM da medula espinhal pode ser indicativo de lesões do sistema nervoso relacionadas à chikungunya. Abstract Background Chikungunya is a mosquito-borne disease caused by the chikungunya virus (CHIKV) and can lead to neurological complications in severe cases. Objective This study examined neuroimaging patterns in chikungunya cases during two outbreaks in Brazil to identify specific patterns for diagnosis and treatment of neuro-chikungunya. Methods Eight patients with confirmed chikungunya and neurological involvement were included. Clinical examinations and MRI scans were performed, and findings were analyzed by neuroradiologists. Data on age, sex, neurological symptoms, diagnostic tests, MRI findings, and clinical outcomes were recorded. Results Patients showed different neuroimaging patterns. Six patients exhibited a "clock dial pattern" with hyperintense dotted lesions in the spinal cord periphery. One patient had thickening and enhancement of anterior nerve roots. Brain MRI revealed multiple hyperintense lesions in the white matter, particularly in the medulla oblongata, in six patients. One patient had a normal brain MRI. Conclusion The "clock dial pattern" observed in spinal cord MRI may be indicative of chikungunya-related nervous system lesions. Isolated involvement of spinal cord white matter in chikungunya can help differentiate it from other viral infections. Additionally, distinct brainstem involvement in chikungunya-associated encephalitis, particularly in the rostral region, sets it apart from other arboviral infections. RESUMO Este relato de caso aborda o curso clínico de um envenenamento botrópico ocorrido no município de Jarinu, SP, no ano de 2021. O paciente necessitou de fasciotomia em membro superior após síndrome compartimental aguda com enxertia dermoepidérmica em um segundo momento cirúrgico. ABSTRACT This case study examines the clinical course of a Bothrops snakebite poisoning that occurred in Jarinu, São Paulo, Brazil, in 2021. The patient required a fasciotomy in the upper limb due to acute compartment syndrome, followed by a second surgical procedure involving dermo-epidermal grafting. In the late postoperative period, the patient experienced retraction, leading to a subsequent surgical intervention to correct the retraction in the left upper limb. The severity of the snakebite accident, the effects of venom on tissues, complications, acute compartment syndrome, as well as the indications and techniques for decompressive fasciotomy, are discussed based on the available literature. RESUMO Foi realizado o levantamento das espécies de fungos trametoides do Parque Estadual das Fontes do Ipiranga (PEFI), localizado no município de São Paulo, São Paulo, Brasil (23o38’00”S-23o40’18”S, 46o36’48”W-46o38’08”W). Quinze espécies pertencentes a seis gêneros foram identificadas a partir da análise da macro e micromorfologia, em que foram avaliadas as dimensões dos basidiomas, textura, cor, assim como o tamanho das hifas, basídios, basidiósporos e cistídios. ABSTRACT A survey of trametoid fungi species from Parque Estadual das Fontes do Ipiranga (PEFI), located in the city of São Paulo, SP, Brazil (23o38’00”S-23o40’18”S, 46o36’48”W-46o38’08”W), was carried out. Fifteen species belonging to six genera were identified from the analysis of macro and micro morphology in which the dimensions of the basidiomata, texture, color, as well as, the size of hyphae, basidia, basidiospores and cystidia, were evaluated. Resumo As pessoas trans estão expostas a diferentes situações de vulnerabilidade que se entrecruzam, causando impactos negativos no processo saúde-doença-cuidado. Para melhor compreender essa questão, buscamos conhecer as experiências de sete estudantes trans de uma universidade pública de Minas Gerais, a partir de entrevistas norteadas por roteiro semiestruturado. As falas foram analisadas pela perspectiva da análise de conteúdo, e as categorias finais foram tensionadas com estudos das ciências sociais e da saúde coletiva. De forma geral, as narrativas se diferenciaram daquelas que compõem a maioria das pesquisas sobre o tema no Brasil, sobretudo em relação à manutenção de vínculos familiares e ao acesso à universidade pública. Nesse sentido, formulamos a hipótese de que a interação desses elementos com outros marcadores de diferenças pode contribuir positivamente para o estabelecimento de alianças e estratégias, a fim de lidar com o regime de inteligibilidade das identidades de gênero e com as dificuldades de acesso à educação, ao trabalho e à saúde. Abstract Transgender people are exposed to different situations of vulnerability that intersect, having negative impacts on the health-illness-care process. To better understand this issue, we sought to know the experiences of seven transgender undergraduates at a public university in Minas Gerais, from semi-structured interviews. The narratives were analyzed on the perspective of content analysis, and the final categories juxtaposed with studies of social sciences and public health. In general, the narratives are different from those which account for most of the research on the theme in Brazil, especially regarding maintaining family bonds and the access to public universities. Hence, we formulated the hypothesis that the interaction between these elements and other markers of differences can positively contribute to establishing alliances and strategies to deal with the regime of gender identity intelligibility and the constraints of access to education, work, and health. Abstract Objective: To summarize data of clinical trials that used silver diamine fluoride (SDF) to prevent and treat caries lesions and dentinal hypersensitivity. Material and Methods: Six electronic databases were searched in May 2022. The concentration of SDF, type of usage (alone/combined), dentition, anterior/posterior teeth, tooth region, dental tissue, number of the treated surfaces, the intervention environment, participants' age, frequency and duration of SDF application, purpose, and outcome were the extracted variables. The type of study, year of publication, authors, journals, and country were also investigated. Results: From 8860 articles, S3 were selected. Most were randomized (n=38), that applied 38% SDF (n=43), alone (n=44), on multiple surfaces (n=44), only in dentin (n=36), of the crown (n=46) of anterior and posterior (n=36) primary teeth (n=39). The studies were preferably carried out outside the clinic (n=3l), only in children (n=33), with reapplication of SDF (n=30), but did not inform the duration of application (n= 19). SDF was most used to treat (n=46) only caries lesions (n=50). They were published between 2001 and 2022, mainly in the Journal of Dentistry (n=10). China (n=19) and Lo E.GM (n=19) were the countries and authors that published the most, respectively. Conclusion: The silver diamine fluoride 38% alone was most used to treat caries lesions in the dentin of the crown of all primary teeth, preferably applied on multiple surfaces, requiring re application, and outside the clinic.
