Abstract Decision making and environmental policies are mainly based on propensity level to impact in the area. The propensity level can be determined through artificial intelligence techniques included in geotechnological universe. Thus, this study aimed to determine the areas of greatest vulnerability to human activities, in Amazon biome, through MODIS images of Land use and land cover (LULC) from the 2001 and 2013. Remote sensing, Euclidean distance, Fuzzy logic, AHP method and analysis of net variations were applied to specialize the classes of vulnerability in the states belonging to the Amazon Biome. From the results, it can be seen that the class that most evolved in a positive net gain during the evaluated period was “very high” and the one that most reduced was “high”, showing that there was a transition from “high” to “very high” risk areas. The states with the largest areas under “very high” risk class were Mato Grosso (101,100.10 km2) and Pará (81,010.30 km2). It is concluded that the application of remote sensing techniques allows the determination and assessment of the environmental vulnerability evolution. Mitigation measures urgently need to be implemented in the Amazon biome. Abstract Fire risk mapping is a basic planning and protection element. This study presents the application of fuzzy logic in a geographic information system (GIS) as an alternative multi-criteria analysis for determining the areas of highest risk of forest fire in natural forest remnants in the Brazil. In the decision-making process, a set of factors that are relevant to fire safety were identified in the study area. For each input variable chosen for the model, a pertinence function was defined that best described its influence on fire risk. Subsequently, the variables were combined for the presentation of the final fire risk map. Concluded in the study that an increased risk of fire occurs at the wildland - urban interface. A strong relationship was observed between the fire ignition points and proximity to roads and urban areas. The proposed model was efficient to integrate the variables and determine areas of greatest risk.

RESUMO O objetivo deste estudo foi realizar uma análise operacional das máquinas utilizadas na colheita mecanizada de eucalipto, em quatro diferentes regionais nos estados do Espírito Santo e Bahia. Os serviços eram realizados por meio de mão de obra própria e terceirizada, em que estas utilizavam-se de condições climáticas, relevo e maquinários semelhantes, sendo estudado o trator florestal harvester. Avaliou-se durante os 12 meses, a disponibilidade mecânica, a disponibilidade técnica, a eficiência operacional e a produção das máquinas, por meio de coletas de dados em campo e em banco de dados dos rendimentos operacionais de 60 máquinas próprias e 60 terceirizadas em cada uma das quatro regionais (120 máquinas). De acordo com os resultados, observou-se que tanto no módulo próprio quanto no terceirizado as variáveis disponibilidade mecânica, eficiência operacional e disponibilidade técnica não se diferenciaram entre o período do estudo, ocorrendo somente entre as regionais. Os serviços executados com maquinários próprios tiveram produção superiores aos terceirizados, com exceção apenas da variável disponibilidade mecânica nas regionais A e C. O volume total produzido por ano pelas florestas cortadas com maquinário próprio superou em 1.234.310 m3 ao volume total cortado por maquinário terceirizado, denotando maior eficiência operacional quando a colheita foi feita com módulo próprio.

ABSTRACT This study aimed to perform a machine operational analyses used on the eucalyptus mechanized harvest, in four different regions of the Espirito Santo and Bahia states. The activities were performed by own and outsourced labor, the regions had a similar climate condition, relieve and similar machine, the harvest forest tractor. The mechanical disponibility, operational efficiency, machine production was analyzed during a 12 months period in the field and by the operational output from the database from 60 own machines and 60 outsourced machines in each one from de four regions (120 machines). Based on the results, it was observed that in the own module and the outsourced, variables were the mechanical disponibility operational efficiency and technical disponibility did not have different during the study period, among the regions. The executed work with own machines had a higher production when compared to the outsourced, with exception of the regions A and C. The total volume produced per year by the cut forest with the own machines were higher than 1.234.310 m3 to the total volume cut with outsourced machines, showing a higher operational efficiency when the harvest was made with an own model.

RESUMO Esta pesquisa foi desenvolvida com objetivo de analisar aspectos sobre o uso do fogo nas circunvizinhanças urbanas da Estação Ecológica de Águas Emendadas (ESECAE), no Distrito Federal, avaliar as principais ocorrências de incêndios, disponibilidade de máquinas, equipamentos e ferramentas para a brigada de combate e fornecer subsídios para diminuição da incidência de incêndios florestais. A população residente nas áreas urbanas do entorno (num raio de três quilômetros) e os brigadistas da unidade de conservação e da guarnição do Corpo de Bombeiros foram entrevistados. Os resultados mostraram que existem áreas mais propensas à ocorrência de incêndios florestais (margens de rodovias e estradas vicinais - 33,4%) em conseqüência da sua localização e a interação com o meio urbano, onde o fogo era usado na limpeza de terrenos por 34% da população. Existe disponibilidade de máquinas, equipamentos e ferramentas para a execução das atividades de prevenção e combate, porém, não existem equipamentos de proteção individual (EPI’s) para todos os brigadistas. Para a população urbana, as campanhas educativas devem enfatizar as consequências negativas do uso do fogo e os riscos dos incêndios florestais.

ABSTRACT This study aimed to analyze aspects of fire use on urban areas around Águas Emendadas Ecological Station (ESECAE), in Distrito Federal, and to evaluate the foremost fire occurrences, equipment availability and tools for combatants and beyond decreasing forest fire incidences. The local population in town region around it (considering three kilometers as ray from the station), fire crew members units of conservation and the garrison body of firemen were interviewed in a representative form. Results had shown that most inclined areas to forest fire occurrence (33.4% highways edges and secondary roads) had their localization related to urban environment, in which 34% of residents used fire as land cleanness. Machines availability, tools and equipment for execution of the activities on prevention and combat exist; however, there is not any equipment for individual protection for all fire crew members. As a solution, educative campaigns to emphasize the negative consequences of using fire (as a tool land) and also to alert people for the risks caused by it should be done.

Esta pesquisa foi realizada em marcenarias localizadas no Distrito Federal cujo objetivo foi analisar a exposição dos trabalhadores de marcenarias aos fatores ambientais como conforto térmico e iluminância, e fornecer subsídios para uma organização ou reorganização ergonômica do trabalho, visando à melhoria da saúde, segurança, bem-estar, conforto, satisfação, qualidade e produtividade do trabalho. As máquinas escolhidas para a análise foram serra circular esquadrejadeira, tupia, desempenadeira, furadeira horizontal e lixadeira de cinta. Os dados foram coletados ao longo da jornada de trabalho pelas medições do Índice de Bulbo Úmido e Termômetro de Globo (Índice de Bulbo Úmido e Termômetro de Globo) e de iluminância do ambiente de trabalho. Realizaram-se análises de variâncias para verificar se houve diferenças significativas entre os valores coletados. Os resultados indicaram que o IBUTG médio encontrado nas empresas foi de 21,4 °C, o que permite um trabalho contínuo durante as 8 h da jornada, segundo a NR 15. Alguns postos de trabalho apresentaram deficiências com relação à iluminância, segundo a NBR 5413/92, tupia (467 LUX) e furadeira horizontal (390 LUX) na empresa 2, serra circular esquadrejadeira (179 LUX) e lixadeira de cinta (172 LUX) na empresa 3 e tupia (339 LUX) na empresa 4.

This research was carried out in four joineries located in the Federal District of Brazil, with the objective to analyze the exposition of the workers of joineries to the ambient factors - thermal comfort and illumination and to supply subsidies for an organization or ergonomic reorganization of the work, aiming the improvement of the health, security, well-being, comfort, satisfaction, quality and productivity of the work. The machines chosen for the analysis had been the buzz saw of stand, tupia, float, horizontal wimble and sander of brace. The data were collected along the working period, through climatic measurements of the illumination and work environment. Analyses of variance of the climatic conditions and illumination were performed in order to verify if there were significant differences between the values collected. The results indicated that the joined average Índice of wet bulb and globe temperature in the companies was 21.4 °C, which allows a continuous work during the 8 h of the day, according to NR 15. Some places of work presented deficiencies with relation to the illumination, according to NBR 5413/92, tupia (467 LUX) and horizontal wimble (390 LUX) in company 2, buzz saw of stand (179 LUX) and sander of brace (172 LUX) in company 3 and tupia (339 LUX) in company 4.

Esta pesquisa foi realizada em marcenarias no Distrito Federal, com o objetivo de se avaliar e comparar, estatisticamente, o nível de ruído emitido pelas máquinas utilizadas na fabricação de móveis em 4 empresas. A avaliação foi feita com auxílio de um decibelímetro posicionado próximo ao ouvido do trabalhador enquanto ele operava determinada máquina, conforme preceitua a NR15. Foram avaliadas 6 máquinas, serra circular, tupia, desempenadeira, desengrossadeira, furadeira horizontal e lixadeira de cinta. A análise estatística foi realizada com o uso de um modelo fatorial e teste de médias. Os resultados indicaram diferença significativa a 5% de probabilidade entre todas as máquinas, nessas empresas. O ruído médio encontrado foi de 92,16 dB(A) e o maior valor foi encontrado na serra circular na empresa 4 (101 dB(A)). A furadeira horizontal foi a única máquina, em todas as empresas, que se enquadrou dentro do limite permitido na NR15, que é de 85 dB(A) para uma jornada de trabalho de 8 horas diárias. As demais máqui-nas apresentaram problemas quanto à emissão de ruído.

This research was carried out in a carpentry in the Federal District, Brazil, with the objective to evaluate and to compare the noise level emitted by the machines used in the manufacture of furniture in four establishments. The evaluation was made with the one noise level measured and it was located as to ear of the worker while operating the machine as per NR15 norm. Six machines were evaluated. The statistical analysis was done using factorial design and mean test. The results indicated significant differences at 5% probability level among machines in the four companies. The mean noise level was of 92,16 dB(A). The highest value was found in the buzz saw in company 4 (101 dB(A)). The horizontal wimble was the only machine in all the companies that fitted with in the limits allowed in the NR15 norm (85 dB(A)) for a daily working of 8 hours. The other machines presented problems related to the noise emission.

RESUMO A pesquisa foi desenvolvida com base em dados coletados com funcionários de marcenarias no Distrito Federal com o objetivo de fazer uma avaliação biomecânica do trabalhador nas mais diversas máquinas. A avaliação foi feita com a filmagem dos trabalhadores em perfil, avaliação das forças envolvidas e posterior congelamento das imagens e medição dos ângulos das articulações para análise no software “Winowas” de análise de posturas e no modelo biomecânico tridimensional de predição de posturas e forças estáticas desenvolvido pela Universidade de Michigan. Os resultados mostraram que, pelo método OWAS, as piores posturas foram obtidas durante o levantamento e deposição das peças no piso em todas as máquinas e postos de trabalho avaliados e durante a alimentação na desengrossadeira, necessitando de reorganização ergonômica em breve. Pela análise com o modelo desenvolvido pela Universidade de Michigan, as fases do ciclo de trabalho mais problemáticas foram a deposição das peças no piso na desengrossadeira quando houve o comprometimento de todas as articulações com exceção dos quadris. Durante a alimentação na desempenadeira, houve grande comprometimento das articulações com exceção dos cotovelos e do disco L5S1 da coluna. Na fase de alimentação na desengrossadeira, desempenadeira, serra circular e serra de fita, as articulações mais prejudicadas foram os tornozelos. Para melhoria das posturas adotadas, deve-se buscar eliminar o constante trabalho em pé, utilizar mecanização auxiliar para manuseio das peças, diminuir o peso manuseado durante a alimentação das máquinas (menor número e tamanho de peças) e realizar treinamentos específicos constantes para adoção de melhores posturas.

ABSTRACT The aim of this study was the biomechanical assessment of carpentry woodworkers, located in Brasília, DF. It was filmed the profile of each worker during the performance of his activities in the carpentry and the forces involved in the work were assessed. The image of each woodworker was congealed to accomplish the measurement of articulation angles. The data were submitted to the software of posture analysis “Winowas” (OWAS Method) and to the biomechanic model of posture prognosis and static forces, developed by Michigan University. The OWAS method showed that, for all machines and carpentries assessed, the worst posture occurred when the worker lifted and placed the pieces of wood on the floor and during the feeding in the smoother. The tridimensional biomechanic model registered the worst posture in different phases of the work cycle. In the first one, there were problems in all articulations, except the hips, when placing the pieces on the floor from the smoother. In the second one, there were problems in all articulations, except the elbows and the L5-S1 column disc, by feeding the surface planer. The third one, the ankles were the most injured when feeding the smoother, the surface planer, the circular saw and the band saw. According to the results, the woodworkers should try to eliminate the constant work standing upright, use auxiliary machinery to handle pieces of wood, reduce the load during feeding the machines and improve postures.

Nesta pesquisa, desenvolvida a partir de dados coletados em viveiro florestal no Vale do Rio Doce, MG, objetivou-se estudar os fatores ergonômicos relacionados às atividades exercidas nesses ambientes, visando à melhoria da saúde, do bem-estar, da segurança, do conforto e da produtividade dos trabalhadores. O objetivo específico foi a caracterização do ambiente de trabalho em relação ao conforto térmico, luminosidade e ruído. Os dados foram coletados através de medições do clima do local de trabalho, da luminosidade e do ruído. Os resultados indicaram que o ambiente de trabalho apresentou valores do Índice de Bulbo Úmido Termômetro de Globo, nas casas-de-vegetação, acima dos limites. A luminosidade encontrada foi considerada insuficiente nos postos de trabalho das atividades de estaqueamento e corte de macroestacas. Os níveis de ruído encontrados foram elevados nas atividades de lavagem e desinfecção de tubetes.

The study reported here was conducted with data collected in a forest nursery in Vale do Rio Doce, Minas Gerais State-Brazil, with the objective of evaluating the ergonomic factors related to the activities carried out at this place, considering the various aspects like health, welfare, safety, comfort and productivity of the workers. The specific objective was the characterization of the working ambient in relation to the thermal comfort, light and noise. Data were collected about temperature, light and noise at the work posts. The results indicated that the ambient presented index values of the Moist Bulb Globe Thermometer above the limits in the green houses. The light was considered insufficient at the work post for the activities such as staking and macro cuttings. The noise levels were high in the areas where the activities of washing and disinfecting of tubes were being carried out.

Através deste trabalho, objetivou-se estudar, antropometricamente, os operadores de motosserra no corte florestal de Eucalyptus spp. Os objetivos específicos foram: conhecer os padrões antropométricos dos operadores de motosserra, determinar os limites mínimos e máximos das variáveis estudadas e selecionar variáveis correspondentes à dimensão da motosserra para o operador. A coleta de dados foi realizada na empresa de papel e celulose, localizada no Estado de São Paulo. Foram selecionadas 35 variáveis antropométricas para aplicação no estudo e avaliados 85 operadores de motosserra. Verificou-se que a massa média do operador foi de 67,9 kg. O percentil 50% apresenta o valor de 1,705 m para a variável altura do topo da cabeça. O espaço mínimo para introdução da mão no cabo da motosserra, não deve ser inferior a 0,115 m e a profundidade mínima para introdução da mão no cabo da motosserra também não deve ser inferior a 0,088 m.

The general objective of this work was to anthropometrically study the chainsaw operators during the forest harvest of Eucalipytus spp. The specific objectives were to find out the anthropometrics patterns of chainsaw operators; to determine the minimum and maximum limits of the variables studied; and to select variables, which correspond to the dimensions of the chainsaw for the operator. Data collection was done at a pulp and paper enterprise located in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. Thirty-five anthropometrics variables were selected for the study. Eighty-five chainsaw operators (totaling 100% of the operators of the enterprise) were evaluated. The mean weight of the operator was of 67.9 kg. The 50% presented a value of 1.705 m for the variable height of the top of the head. The minimum space for the introduction of the hand in the handler of the chainsaw should not be less than 0.115 m. The minimum depth for the introduction of the hand in the chainsaw handler should not be less than 0.088 m.
