Resumo O objetivo deste estudo é caracterizar os resíduos sólidos industriais gerados por uma indústria goiana de pré-moldados de compósitos geopoliméricos e utilizá-los na produção de argamassa, em substituição parcial ao cimento nos teores de 5%, 10%, 15% e 25%, devido ao seu provável efeito pozolânico. Para a pesquisa o resíduo passou por trituração em moinho martelo e peneiramento em malha #40 realizados na própria indústria. Em seguida, foram realizadas análises físico-químicas para verificar se o resíduo atende aos parâmetros estabelecidos pela NBR 12653 (ABNT, 2014b) Materiais Pozolânicos - Requisitos. O resíduo apresentou potencial para ser utilizado como pozolana, pois na análise granulométrica apenas 19% ficaram retidos na peneira #325 e o teor de umidade também atendeu aos parâmetros da referida norma. Abstract The objective of this study is to characterize the industrial solid waste generated by a geopolymeric composites precast industry in Goiás and use them in the production of mortar, in partial replacement of cement in the contents of 5%, 10%, 15% and 25%, due to its probable pozzolanic effect. For the research the residue underwent crushing in a hammer mill and sieving in a #40 mesh conducted in the industry itself. Then, physical-chemical analyzes were conducted to verify if the residue meets the parameters established by NBR 12653 (ABNT, 2014) Pozzolanic Materials - Requirements. Estudos são realizados para identificar as consequências, em especial os benefícios da aglomeração econômica. Este estudo tem como objetivo analisar as aglomerações geográficas com base no desempenho econômico dos municípios do estado de Santa Catarina no período de 2012 a 2020, por meio da autocorrelação espacial. Studies are conducted to identify the consequences, especially the benefits of economic agglomeration. RESUMO: A leptospirose causa perdas econômicas na pecuária e é um problema de saúde pública, sendo possível que existam peculiaridades na epidemiologia dessa doença em aldeias indígenas, principalmente naquelas de áreas de clima semiárido, como o bioma Caatinga no Nordeste do Brasil, onde o ambiente é frequentemente adverso à sobrevivência de leptospiras. Assim, o objetivo deste estudo foi realizar o diagnóstico sorológico em rebanhos de aldeias indígenas no bioma Caatinga. A pesquisa foi realizada nas aldeias indígenas Mãe Maria e Santa Helena, tribo Xukuru de Cimbres, município de Pesqueira, estado de Pernambuco, Brasil, dentro do bioma Caatinga. Amostras de sangue foram colhidas de bovinos (n = 42), caprinos (n = 41) e ovinos (n = 19). No geral, das 102 amostras testadas 73 (71,6%; IC 95% = 62,8% - 80,3%) foram sororreativas (ponto de corte ≥ 100). Para bovinos, caprinos e ovinos as taxas de soropositividade foram de 54,8%, 80,5% e 89,5%, respectivamente. Houve diferença estatística na proporção de animais soropositivos entre bovinos e caprinos e bovinos e ovinos (P < 0,05). ABSTRACT: Leptospirosis, a disease of significant economic impact on livestock and public health concern, may exhibit unique epidemiological characteristics in indigenous villages, particularly those located within semiarid climates such as the Caatinga biome in Brazil. This environment often presents conditions unfavorable for leptospire survival. This study conducted serological diagnoses of livestock in indigenous villages within the Caatinga biome, Northeastern Brazil. The survey was carried out in the Mãe Maria and Santa Helena indigenous villages, home to the Xukuru de Cimbres tribe, in the county of Pesqueira, Pernambuco State, Brazil, within the Caatinga biome. Blood samples were collected from cattle (n = 42), goats (n = 41), and sheep (n = 19). Out of the 102 samples tested, 73 (71.6%; 95% CI = 62.8% - 80.3%) were seroreactive (cut-off ≥ 100). The seropositivity rates for cattle, goats, and sheep were 54.8%, 80.5%, and 89.5%, respectively. A statistically significant difference was observed in the proportion of seropositive animals between cattle and goats and cattle and sheep (P < 0.05). RESUMO: O objetivo do presente estudo foi avaliar o efeito de níveis crescentes de resíduo úmido de cervejaria (RUC) como fonte de volume sobre o consumo de nutrientes, desempenho e comportamento ingestivo de cordeiros terminados em confinamento. Foram utilizados 32 cordeiros machos não castrados, desmamados aos 50 dias de idade. Os tratamentos consistiram em níveis crescentes de RUC como volumoso na dieta: 31, 44, 57 e 70%, na matéria seca. O concentrado consistia em milho desintegrado, farelo de soja, calcário calcítico e sal mineral. Houve efeito quadrático (P ≤ 0,05) dos níveis crescentes de RUC sobre o consumo de MS, MO, PB e CHT. O consumo de EE, FDN e FDA aumentou linearmente (P < .0001), enquanto o consumo de NDT apresentou redução linear (P < .0001) para aumentos no nível de WBR. Houve um efeito quadrático (P ≤ 0,010) no ganho de peso médio diário (GMD) da adição de RUC à dieta. O tempo gasto com alimentação e ruminação (P ≤ 0,05) e para mastigação total (P ≤ 0,003), expresso em minutos, apresentou aumento linear. ABSTRACT: The present study evaluated the effect of increasing levels of wet brewery residue (WBR) as a source of roughage on nutrient intake, performance and ingestive behaviour in lambs finished in confinement. Thirty-two uncastrated male lambs were used, weaned at 50 days of age. The treatments comprised increasing levels of WBR as roughage in the diet: 31, 44, 57 and 70%, on a dry-matter. The concentrate consisted of disintegrated corn, soybean meal, calcitic limestone and mineral salt. There was a quadratic effect (P ≤ 0.05) from the increasing levels of WBR on the intake of DM, OM, CP and TCH. The intake of EE, NDF and ADF increased linearly (P ≤ 0.01), while TDN intake showed a linear reduction (P < .0001) for increases in the level of WBR. There was a quadratic effect (P ≤ 0.010) on the average daily weight gain (ADG) from the addition of WBR to the diet. The time spent on feeding and rumination (P ≤ 0.05), expressed in minutes, showed a linear increase. Feeding rate for DM showed decreasing linear behaviour (P ≤ 0.006), while NDF rumination rate showed increasing linear behaviour (P ≤ 0.013) due to the increased levels of WBR in the diet. There was a linear increase in the time spent on each feeding activity (P ≤ 0.007) with the increase in WBR in the diet. RESUMO: A enxertia cutânea é uma técnica cirúrgica simples e bastante útil para o reparo de feridas, principalmente, quando há dificuldade em realizar a síntese direta ou outras técnicas reconstrutivas. O laser de baixa intensidade (LBI) já foi utilizado com sucesso em casos em que o enxerto foi aplicado em feridas logo após a sua criação. No entanto, a LBI ainda carece de padronizações, mediante estudos conflitantes sobre seus resultados. Desta forma, este trabalho objetivou comparar a eficácia da LBI de onda contínua com onda pulsada na estimulação da cicatrização de enxertos cutâneos, aplicados em feridas recém-criadas em coelhos. Para tanto, foram utilizados 31 coelhos distribuídos em: grupo controle (GC, n = 10), grupo laser onda contínua (GLC; n = 10) e grupo laser onda pulsada (GLP; n = 11). O manejo pós operatório foi semelhante entre todos os grupos, com exceção da aplicação do laser, conforme o grupo indicado. Os grupos GLC e GLP apresentaram evolução semelhante, com processo cicatricial satisfatório do enxerto, ao contrário do grupo GC. Tais resultados se mantiveram na avaliação microscópica, pois os grupos tratados com laser apresentaram menor inflamação, melhor integração à área receptora, maior reepitelização e colagenização. Não houve diferença na densidade vascular entre os grupos de tratamento na análise imuno-histoquímica. A ferida recém-criada não é capaz de fornecer nutrição para o enxerto cutâneo nos coelhos, mas a LBI é uma terapia adjuvante eficiente em estimular a cicatrização entre a área receptora e o enxerto, promovendo integração total. ABSTRACT: Skin grafting is a simple and very useful surgical technique for wound repair, especially where there is difficulty in performing direct synthesis or other reconstructive techniques. low-intensity laser (LIL) has already been used successfully in cases where the graft was applied to wounds shortly after its creation. However, LIL still lacks standardization due to conflicting studies on its results. Thus, this study compared the effectiveness of continuous wave LIL with pulsed wave LIL in stimulating the healing of skin grafts, applied to newly created wounds in rabbits. For this purpose, 31 rabbits were distributed into: control group (CG, n = 10), continuous wave laser group (GLC; n = 10) and pulsed wave laser group (GLP; n = 11). Postoperative management was similar between all groups, with the exception of laser application, as indicated by the group. The GLC and GLP groups showed similar evolution, with a satisfactory healing process of the graft, unlike the GC group. These results were maintained in the microscopic evaluation, as the groups treated with laser showed less inflammation, better integration with the receptor area, greater re-epithelialization and collagenization. There was no difference in vascular density between the treatment groups on immunohistochemical analysis. The newly created wound was not able to provide nutrition for the skin graft in rabbits, but LIL is an efficient adjuvant therapy in stimulating healing between the recipient area and the graft, promoting full integration. RESUMO: Protocolos que induzem à lactação artificial em vacas e novilhas são eficazes e estão comercialmente disponíveis no Brasil. No entanto, esses protocolos demandam longos tratamentos hormonais, o que é discutível visto que poucas pesquisas foram feitas sobre o assunto. Para entender melhor os protocolos de indução artificial à lactação (IAL), realizamos dois experimentos. Foi testada a hipótese de que um protocolo curto (oito dias) de IAL é tão eficiente quanto o protocolo padrão de 15 dias. No experimento 1 objetivou-se caracterizar o perfil esteroidal durante um protocolo de IAL e avaliou-se os perfis séricos de estradiol (E2) e progesterona (P4) de vacas Jersey (n=6) submetidas a um protocolo convencional. ABSTRACT: Protocols to artificially induce cows and heifers into lactation are effective and commercially available in Brazil. However, these protocols demand long hormonal treatments, which is debatable since little research has been done in the subject. To further understand artificial induction to lactation (AIL) protocols, we conducted two experiments. In experiment 1, our objective was to better characterize steroidal profile during an AIL protocol and assess the estradiol (E2) and progesterone (P4) serum profiles of Jersey cows (n=6) subjected to a conventional protocol. In experiment 2, we aimed to compare milk production and serum E2 concentrations of Holstein heifers induced into lactation by the standard AIL protocol (15 injections of E2 and 8 P4 injections) and by a short protocol in which the number of E2 injections and, consequently, the overall dosage of E2, were reduced (8 injections of E2 and 8 P4 injections). RESUMEN Introducción: El VIH/SIDA es considerado uno de los grandes casos de salud pública, sin embargo, está comprobado que pacientes que hacen uso de la terapia antirretroviral (TARV) y practican entrenamiento de fuerza provoca una promoción de su salud. Objetivos: Evaluar el impacto del entrenamiento de fuerza en la resistencia a las citoquinas y en la composición corporal de las personas que viven con VIH/SIDA. Métodos: Ensayo clínico aleatorizado, la muestra estuvo compuesta por 12 pacientes, siete del Grupo de Fuerza (TFG) y cinco del Grupo de Resistencia Muscular (GRM). Se compararon los niveles de las citocinas IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-10 y TNF-α y la composición corporal en la primera y la última sesión. Los pacientes completaron 36 sesiones de entrenamiento de fuerza y resistencia durante 12 semanas. Resultados: Tras 36 sesiones de entrenamiento de resistencia GRM, se produjo un aumento significativo de 4.734 pg/mL a 5.050 pg/mL de IL-10 (p=0,002). En cuanto a la TFG, no se encontraron resultados significativos. En cuanto a la composición corporal, hubo diferencias significativas en la TFG debido al aumento de la masa magra en brazos de 6.441g a 7.014g (p=0,04), piernas de 16.379g a 17.281g (p=0,02) y cuerpo entero de 45.640g a 47.343g (p=0,01). En el GRM hubo una disminución significativa del porcentaje de grasa en los brazos de 23.160% a 20.750% (p = 0,04). ABSTRACT Introduction: HIV/AIDS is considered one of the great cases of public health, but it is seen that patients who use antiretroviral therapy (ART) and practice strength training promote a promotion of their health. Objectives: Assess the impact of strength and resistance training on cytokines and body composition in people living with HIV/AIDS. Methods: Randomized clinical trial, the sample consisted of 12 patients, 7 from the Strength Group (GF) and 5 from Group 2, Muscular Resistance (MGR). We compared the levels of IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-10 and TNF-α cytokines and body composition in the first and last sessions. The patients completed 36 strength and resistance training sessions over 12 weeks. Results: After 36 sessions of GRM resistance training, there was a significant increase from 4,734 pg/mL to 5,050 pg/mL of IL-10 (p=0.002). Regarding the GFR, no significant results were found. For body composition, there were significant differences in GFR due to the increase in lean mass of the arms from 6,441g to 7,014g (p=0.04), legs from 16,379g to 17,281g (p=0.02) and whole body of 45,640g to 47,343g (p=0.01). In G2 there was a significant decrease in the percentage of fat in the arms from 23,160% to 20,750% (p = 0.04). To assess quality of life, the WHOQOL-HIV-Bref questionnaire was used, where significant improvement was found in all domains, except for the level of independence domain. Conclusion: We conclude that muscular resistance training is effective in increasing IL-10 and decreasing the percentage of fat in the arms, whereas strength training increases lean mass in arms, legs, and the whole body. RESUMO Introdução: O HIV/AIDS é considerado um dos grandes casos de saúde pública, porém verifica-se que pacientes que fazem uso de terapia antirretroviral (TARV) e praticam treinamento de força provocam uma promoção de sua saúde. Objetivos: Avaliar o impacto do treinamento de força sobre a resistência nas citocinas e a composição corporal de pessoas vivendo com HIV/AIDS. Métodos: Ensaio clínico randomizado, a amostra foi composta por 12 pacientes, sendo sete do Grupo Força (TFG) e cinco do Grupo Resistência Muscular (GRM). Comparou-se os níveis das citocinas IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-10 e TNF-α e a composição corporal na primeira e na última sessão. Os pacientes completaram 36 sessões de treinamento de força e resistência ao longo de 12 semanas. Resultados: Após 36 sessões de treinamento resistido GRM, houve um aumento significativo de 4.734 pg/mL para 5.050 pg/mL de IL-10 (p=0,002). Em relação à TFG, não foram encontrados resultados significativos. Para composição corporal, houve diferenças significativas na TFG devido ao aumento da massa magra dos braços de 6.441g para 7.014g (p=0,04), pernas de 16.379g para 17.281g (p=0,02) e corpo inteiro de 45.640g para 47.343g (p=0,01). No GRM houve diminuição significativa do percentual de gordura nos braços de 23.160% para 20.750% (p = 0,04). Para avaliação da qualidade de vida foi utilizado o questionário WHOQOL-HIV-Bref, onde foi encontrada uma melhora significativa em todos os domínios, exceto no domínio nível de independência. Conclusão: Conclui-se que o treinamento de resistência muscular é eficaz em aumentar a IL-10 e diminuir o percentual de gordura nos braços, enquanto o treinamento de força aumenta a massa magra geral. RESUMO: O presente artigo visa examinar de que modo os esforços empreendidos no sentido de substituir a pessoalidade da ação docente pela tecnicidade impessoal de sua atividade afetam o professor e o ofício docente. O discurso de tecnicização da educação, discurso estruturado em torno de uma pretendida completude, centralidade e autonomia da dimensão técnica e metodológica do educar, concebe a educação como uma atividade que prescinde da presença de um alguém, de um sujeito a quem se faz possível o usufruto de um lugar de ação e enunciação. O que resta ao ofício docente diante dos esforços que visam reduzi-lo a uma atividade guiada pela lógica da produção fabril, marcada pela repetição automatizada de processos que independem da unicidade e pessoalidade daquele que a realiza? ABSTRACT: This article aims to examine how efforts that seek to replace the personality of the teaching action by the impersonal technicality of its activity affect the teacher and the teaching profession. The discourse of technicization of education, a discourse structured around the intended completeness, centrality, and autonomy of the technical and methodological dimension of education, conceives education as an activity that does not require the presence of someone, the presence of a subject to whom it is possible to enjoy a place of action and enunciation. What does the teacher do in the face of efforts to reduce teaching to an activity guided by the logic of factory production, marked by the automated repetition of processes that are independent of the uniqueness and personality of the one who performs it? Would this condition be related to the complaints, illnesses, feelings of devaluation, and impotence frequently mentioned by teachers? ABSTRACT Background: The riverine communities of the Amazon comprise different social groups that inhabit the rural areas on the banks of rivers and lakes. Residents usually travel by river to rural and urban areas and are then exposed to urbanized diseases such as those caused by arbovirus infection. In Brazil, emerging diseases such as dengue, Zika, chikungunya, and those caused by infection with Oropouche and Mayaro viruses necessitate epidemiological surveillance. This study was aimed at determining the frequency of positivity for immunoglobulin (Ig)G and IgM antibodies against Zika, chikungunya, and dengue viruses and performing molecular analyses to detect viral RNA for the Zika, chikungunya, dengue virus, Oropouche, and Mayaro viruses, in the same serum samples obtained from riverside populations. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in a riverside population in the Humaitá municipality of the Brazilian Amazon. More than 80% of the local population participated in this study. Entomological samples were collected to identify local mosquito vectors. Results: Analysis of 205 human serological samples revealed IgG antibodies against the dengue virus in 85 individuals. No molecular positivity was observed in human samples. Entomological analyses revealed 3,187 Diptera species, with Mansonia being the most frequent genus. Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus were not detected in the two collections. Conclusions: IgG antibodies against the dengue virus were highly prevalent, suggesting previous exposure. The absence of the arbovirus vectors Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus in the samples supports the hypothesis that the infections recorded likely occurred outside the riverside communities investigated. ABSTRACT The use of corn hybrids adapted to the soil and climate conditions of the cultivation region under adequate optimum plant density is a determining factor for the maximization of grain yield. In this sense, the objective was to evaluate the productivity of corn hybrids under two sowing densities during the 2020/21 crop season in the medium-high Uruguay region of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The corn hybrids AS1555 PRO3, B2401 PWU, B2418 VYHR, B2612 PWU, BG7061 YHR, DKB235 PRO3, NS45 VIP3, NS73 VIP3, NS80 VIP3, P2501, P3016 VYHR, P3565 PWU and 30F53 VYHR were submitted to densities of 66,667 and 88,889 plants ha-1, in a randomized block design with ten replications. Corn hybrids showed superior grain yield when subjected to the density of 88,889 plants ha-1 in the medium-high Uruguay region of Rio Grande do Sul, surpassing in most cases the state and national average yield of harvest 2020/21. Most of the corn hybrids used present potential for cultivation at higher sowing density than their respective recommendations. SUMMARY Lipodystrophies are characterized by complete or selective loss of adipose tissue and can be acquired or inherited. Familial partial lipodystrophy (FPLD) is a hereditary lipodystrophy commonly caused by mutations in the LMNA gene. Herein, we report two cases of FPLD associated with podocytopathies. Patient 1 was diagnosed with FPLD associated with the heterozygous p.Arg482Trp variant in LMNA and had normal glucose tolerance and hyperinsulinemia. During follow-up, she developed nephrotic-range proteinuria. Renal biopsy was consistent with minimal change disease. Patient 2 was diagnosed with FPLD associated with a de novo heterozygous p.Arg349Trp variant in LMNA. Microalbuminuria progressed to macroalbuminuria within 6 years and to nephrotic range proteinuria in the last year. He remained without diabetes and with hyperinsulinemia. Renal biopsy revealed focal segmental glomerulosclerosis not otherwise specified. ABSTRACT The continuous demand for water in the agricultural sector has encouraged researchers worldwide to find alternatives to optimize this resource. The use of wastewater in irrigation is promising in this scenario, especially to produce tree seedlings. The growth, quality, and water productivity of Dalbergia nigra seedlings cultivated with sewage sludge were determined when irrigated with urban supply water (W1) and cattle wastewater (CWW) treated for 1 h (W2) and 2 h (W3) of ozonation, considering four irrigation depths and shading levels (0 % (C1), 37.6 % (C2), 49.4 % (C3), 75.8 % (C4)). The height, stem diameter, biomass, and the Dickson Quality Index (DQI) were evaluated. The largest volumes of water applied in each experiment were 2.342 L per plant in W2C1, 2.114 L per plant in W1C3 and 1.556 L per plant in W3C1. The CWW provided satisfactory seedling growth, especially W2, highlighting a DQI of 0.47 obtained in C1 and better water productivity (3.8 g L–1) in W2C1, with full depth.
