Resumo Durante o enfrentamento da covid-19, a estratégia de vacinação drive-thru foi uma das medidas para acelerar a imunização da população, e a abertura do Centro de Testagem da Covid-19 (CTC) potencializou a realização de testes rápidos. Este estudo tem o objetivo de analisar o desempenho da vacinação contra a covid-19 no formato drive-thru e o perfil do público que recorreu ao centro de testagem no período de 2021-2022. Trata-se de uma análise quantitativa de delineamento transversal, com dados obtidos do MonitoraCovid-19 e ConecteSUS. Os resultados mostraram a busca acentuada pela vacinação no período de julho a agosto de 2021 e a redução na procura pelas vacinas conforme o avanço da imunização. Já o perfil predominante dos indivíduos diagnosticados com covid-19 foi de: pessoas do sexo feminino (58,20%), idade entre 21 e 30 anos (22,16%), cor de pele branca (47,65%), sintomáticos (86,37%) sem comorbidades (82,35%). Portanto, os protocolos de biossegurança aliados à vacinação e à testagem para diagnóstico da doença foram essenciais para conter a transmissão do vírus SARS-CoV-2. Abstract During the fight against COVID-19, the drive-thru vaccination strategy was one of the measures to accelerate the immunization of the population and the opening of the COVID-19 detection testing center (CTC) enhanced the performance of rapid tests. This study aims to analyze the performance of vaccination against COVID-19 in the drive-thru format and the profile of the public who used the testing center in the period 2021-2022. This is a quantitative cross-sectional analysis with data obtained from MonitoraCovid-19 and ConecteSUS. The results showed the accentuated search for vaccination in the period from July to August 2021 and a reduction in demand for vaccines as immunization progresses. The predominant profile of individuals diagnosed with COVID-19 was: female (58.20%), aged between 21 and 30 years (22.16%), white skin color (47.65%), symptomatic (86.37%) did not have comorbidities (82.35%). Therefore, biosafety protocols combined with vaccination and testing to diagnose the disease were essential to contain the transmission of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The vaccination drive-thru was one of the forms of service that offered ease of access, speed, curbing crowds, convenience, and ensuring patient safety. Resumen Durante la lucha contra la COVID-19, la estrategia de vacunación drive-thru fue una de las medidas para acelerar la inmunización de la población y la apertura del Centro de pruebas de detección de la COVID-19 (CTC) potenció la realización de pruebas rápidas. Este estudio tiene como objetivo analizar el desempeño de la vacunación contra COVID-19 en el formato drive-thru y el perfil del público que utilizó el centro de pruebas en el período 2021-2022. Se trata de un análisis cuantitativo transversal, con datos obtenidos de MonitoraCovid-19 y ConecteSUS. Los resultados mostraron la acentuada búsqueda de vacunación en el período de julio a agosto de 2021 y una reducción de la demanda de vacunas a medida que avanza la inmunización. El perfil predominante de individuos diagnosticados con COVID-19 fue: femenino (58,20%), edad entre 21 y 30 años (22,16%), color de piel blanca (47,65%), sintomáticos (86,37%) sin comorbilidades (82,35%). Por ello, los protocolos de bioseguridad combinados con la vacunación y las pruebas para diagnosticar la enfermedad fueron fundamentales para contener la transmisión del virus SARS-CoV-2. Resumo Microrganismos endofíticos são aqueles que vivem no interior de tecidos e órgãos vegetais sem causar dano à planta, desencadeando uma interação mutualística. Esses endófitos são conhecidos por produzir compostos com diversas aplicações nas áreas de biotecnologia, indústria farmacêutica e agricultura; logo, métodos moleculares são utilizados para investigar a filogenia destes organismos. O Cerrado brasileiro é o segundo maior bioma do Brasil e é considerado um hotspot, com uma alta diversidade de fauna e flora endêmica. O objetivo deste trabalho foi analisar, por meio da análise in silico, a filogenia de fungos endofíticos cultiváveis isolados de plantas encontradas no bioma Cerrado brasileiro. Foi realizada uma busca por artigos que trabalharam com endófitos no período entre 2012 e 2022. O dendrograma foi gerado usando o método Neighbor-joining baseado na região conservada ITS1-5.8S-ITS2 obtida pelos códigos GenBank de endófitos isolados. Os gêneros Xylaria, Diaporthe e Colletotrichum foram isolados em mais de três plantas nos sete artigos encontrados. A maior parte dos artigos encontrados relacionados à biodiversidade de fungos endofíticos do Cerrado brasileiro visam à bioprospecção de compostos bioativos, através de métodos dependentes de cultura; como tal, uma parte da diversidade endofítica pode ser perdida devido à incapacidade de certos endófitos crescerem em meios artificiais. Abstract Endophytic microorganisms are those that inhabit the interior of plant tissues and organs without causing damage to the plant, triggering a mutualistic interaction. These endophytes are known to produce compounds with various applications in the areas of biotechnology, pharmaceutical industry and agriculture; therefore, molecular methods are used to investigate the phylogeny of these organisms. The Brazilian Cerrado is the second largest biome in Brazil and is considered a hotspot, with a high diversity of endemic fauna and flora. The objective of this work was to analyze, through in silico analysis, the phylogeny of cultivable endophytic fungi isolated from plants found in the Brazilian Cerrado biome. A search was carried out for articles that worked with endophytes in the period between 2012 and 2022. The dendrogram was generated using the Neighbor-joining method based on the ITS1-5.8S-ITS2 conserved region obtained by GenBank codes of isolated endophytes. The genera Xylaria, Diaporthe, and Colletotrichum were isolated in more than three plants in the seven articles found. Most of the articles found related to the biodiversity of endophytic fungi from the Brazilian Cerrado aim at the bioprospecting of bioactive compounds, through culture-dependent methods; as such, a part of endophytic diversity may be lost due to the inability of certain endophytes to grow in artificial media. ABSTRACT Leishmaniasis is a disease complex with various clinical symptoms caused by different species of parasites of the genus Leishmania. The visceral form of the disease, characterized by severe symptoms is fatal, if not treated. The high toxicity of current antileishmanial drugs and the need for long-term treatment make the therapy complicated, especially in a large number of infected children. Hence, the search for new therapies must be intensified. Oral administration of the trace element zinc has been considered in alternative treatments against different clinical forms of leishmaniasis. This study revealed that the administration of zinc in children with visceral leishmaniasis, during treatment with amphotericin B or glucantime, accelerates the regression of the spleen enlargement without interfering with the recovery of hematological parameters.

Buscamos visualizá-los quanto à sustentabilidade, via quatro vertentes: ambiental, econômica, social e política. Detectou-se a inexistência de um processo operacional padronizado.

The main challenge to program marketing strategies in a rural community of settlers drove us to the exploration of this study with the purpose of checking the strength of people’s survival in screen, where and in what market niche they better fall into as a distinct empirical existing and latent knowledge. El desafío principal para programar las estrategias del marketing rural en una comunidad de asentados nos motivó a realizar ese estudio con la finalidad de verificar el punto fuerte de supervivencia de esa población, dónde y en qué nicho de mercado se adecuan mejor en cuanto a los distintos conocimientos empíricos, existentes y latentes. A leishmaniose visceral acomete vários órgãos entre eles os rins; o que pode levar a insuficiência renal e a morte. Com o objetivo de verificar este acometimento renal foram avaliados materiais de 100 cães naturalmente infectados e com diagnósticos sorológicos de leishmaniose visceral canina - LVC. As alterações inflamatórias estavam presentes em 25,3% dos túbulos, em 67,0% do interstício e em 52,0% dos glomérulos. Não houve diferença significativa (p > 0,05) entre a presença de glomerulonefrite em cães sintomáticos e oligossintomáticos. As glomerulonefrites membranosa e membrano proliferativa foram as mais freqüentes, ambas com 18,0% de freqüência seguidas da glomeruloesclerose segmentar e focal com 14,0%. Foram observadas alterações como cilindrúria, hipertrofia tubular e fibrose e infiltrados inflamatórios periglomerulares e peritubulares multifocais e difusos. Os achados concordam com os de outros autores indicando que o acometimento renal é comum na LVC e que os padrões de glomerulonefrites membranoploriferativa e membranosa; assim como o acometimento tubulointersticial são freqüentes.

Visceral leishmaniasis affects various organs including the kidneys; which can lead to renal failure and death. In order to verify this renal involvement, material was evaluated from 100 dogs naturally infected and with serological diagnosis of canine visceral leishmaniasis (CVL). Inflammatory changes were present in 25.3% of the tubules, in 67.0% of interstitium and in 52.0% of glomeruli. There was no significant difference (p > 0.05) between the presence of glomerulonephritis in symptomatic and oligosymptomatic dogs. The membranous and membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis were the most frequent, both with 18.0% frequency, followed by focal segmental glomerulosclerosis with 14.0%. Changes such as cylindruria, tubular and fibrosis hypertrophy, periglomerular inflammatory infiltrate, and multifocal and diffuse peritubular inflammatory infiltrate were observed. The findings are consistent with those of other authors indicating that renal involvement is common in CVL and the standards of membranous and membranoploriferative glomerulonephritis, as well as the tubulointerstitial involvement, are frequent.

In Chagas disease, understanding how the immune response controls parasite growth but also leads to heart damage may provide insight into the design of new therapeutic strategies. Tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) is important for resistance to acute Trypanosoma cruzi infection; however, in patients suffering from chronic T. cruzi infection, plasma TNF-α levels correlate with cardiomyopathy. Recent data suggest that CD8-enriched chagasic myocarditis formation involves CCR1/CCR5-mediated cell migration. Herein, the contribution of TNF-α, especially signaling through the receptor TNFR1/p55, to the pathophysiology of T. cruzi infection was evaluated with a focus on the development of myocarditis and heart dysfunction. Colombian strain-infected C57BL/6 mice had increased frequencies of TNFR1/p55+ and TNF-α+ splenocytes. Although TNFR1-/- mice exhibited reduced myocarditis in the absence of parasite burden, they succumbed to acute infection. Similar to C57BL/6 mice, Benznidazole-treated TNFR1-/- mice survived acute infection. In TNFR1-/- mice, reduced CD8-enriched myocarditis was associated with defective activation of CD44+CD62Llow/- and CCR5+ CD8+ lymphocytes. Also, anti-TNF-α treatment reduced the frequency of CD8+CCR5+ circulating cells and myocarditis, though parasite load was unaltered in infected C3H/HeJ mice. TNFR1-/- and anti-TNF-α-treated infected mice showed regular expression of connexin-43 and reduced fibronectin deposition, respectively. Furthermore, anti-TNF-α treatment resulted in lower levels of CK-MB, a cardiomyocyte lesion marker. Our results suggest that TNF/TNFR1 signaling promotes CD8-enriched myocarditis formation and heart tissue damage, implicating the TNF/TNFR1 signaling pathway as a potential therapeutic target for control of T. cruzi-elicited cardiomyopathy.

Amostras de soro obtidas de estudantes do curso de Medicina Veteriná ria da Universidade para o Desenvolvimento do Estado e da Região do Pantanal, Campo Grande, MS, Brasil, foram examinadas para a presença de anticorpos contra Toxoplasma gondii. Dos 145 soros testados, 44 (30,34%) foram positivos na hemaglutinação, com título igual ou superior a 1:16. Não foram observadas associações entre as caracterí sticas epidemiológicas examinadas, tais como hábitos alimentares (ingestão de carne bovina crua ou malpassada, vegetais crus/não lavados, produtos lácteos não pasteurizados) ou contato constante com cães e a presença de anticorpos contra T. gondii, exceto pelo percentual significativamente maior de estudantes soropositivos que relataram ter contato freqüente com gatos (P=0,03).

Serum samples obtained from students of the School of Veterinary Medicine, Universidade para o Desenvolvimento do Estado e da Região do Pantanal, Campo Grande, MS, Brazil, were examined for Toxoplasma gondii gondii antibodies. Serum samples from 44 (30.34%) of the 145 veterinary students examined were positive on the hemagglutination test, yielding a titer of 1:16 or greater. There were no relations between the epidemiological characteristics examined, such as food habits (eating of raw or rare-cooked cattle meat, raw/uncleaned vegetables, unpasteurized dairy products), frequent contact with dogs and the presence of T. gondii antibodies, except for a significantly higher percentual of seropositive students that reported frequent contact with cats (P=0.03).
