In this work, the innovation process to take chemical technologies born in universities to the market is described. The discussion is structured on the stages: research/science, patenting, opportunity evaluation, scale-up and proof of concept that lead to two possible outputs: technology transfer or startup creation. The work also describes the activities of Escalab, a UFMG technology lab, in the innovation process: technological mapping/R&D for the industry, technology scale up, technology acceleration, open innovation programs with industry and the program “go-to-market” for the insertion of chemical startups in market. This paper presents the stages of an acceleration program focused on chemical technologies. We demonstrate how this initiative contributes to the creation of new businesses, startups, and technology licensing from research developed at Brazilian universities. The case of the program Escale-se is discussed. There were 66 technologies submitted, and 14 were selected for the pre-acceleration phase. In this phase, various contents were worked on, such as creating a business model and aspects of scaling hard-science technologies. Teams were evaluated by panels with market specialists, and 6 were selected for the second phase: pre-scaling/proof of concept. Here, proponents were encouraged to validate the business model by connecting with potential clients and partners, as well as planning the development and testing of the product in a relevant environment. Finally, one team was classified for the last stage: scaling/go-to-market - where they received R$ 100,000.00 to scale up their technology and create strategies for raising investments. Four of the fourteen technologies selected for the program opened National Register of Legal Entities (CNPJ) and raised approximately R$ 4.5 M in investments from different sources. ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: Detraining can partially or completely reduce training-induced metabolic adaptations. However, the duration for which the rehabilitation effects persist after detraining, especially in patients with heart disease, remains unclear. OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the principle of reversibility/detraining in patients with heart disease via the 6-minute walk test (6MWT) after a period of rest. DESIGN AND SETTING: A retrospective cohort study developed at the Rehabilitation Center of the Universidade Federal do Triângulo Mineiro in Uberaba/MG, Brazil. METHODS: This clinical, retrospective longitudinal study involved 20 patients with heart disease who underwent 5 months of supervised cardiac rehabilitation (CR). The mean age of participants was 64.05 ± 9.25 years. The initial rehabilitation was followed by an interruption period and rehabilitation for another 5 months. Functional capacity was assessed using the 6MWT. RESULTS: In the specific analysis of the distance covered, values of P = 0.03 and P = 0.01 were obtained on comparing post-training (669.64 ± 58.80 meters) with post-detraining (640.82 ± 101.23 meters) and post-detraining with post-retraining (650.82 ± 96.28 meters), respectively. No significant difference was observed for the comparison between training and retraining (P = 0.83). CONCLUSION: Cardiovascular rehabilitation positively stimulates functional capacity, whereas detraining significantly reduces it. The 6MWT is effective in measuring changes in physical capacity. Resumo Diante dos impactos ambientais associados à produção do cimento Portland convencional, o estudo de cimentos especiais de reduzido impacto ambiental tem sido uma tendência. Neste contexto, os cimentos contendo ye’elimita (YCC) se destacam devido à baixa emissão de CO2. Apesar das vantagens ambientais, a alta demanda por alumínio limita economicamente a produção destes cimentos. Uma alternativa para viabilizar a sua produção é o uso de matérias-primas residuais como fonte de Al2O3, a exemplo do SFCC (catalizador gasto do craqueamento catalítico de leito fluidizado). Diante disso, este trabalho tem como objetivo avaliar a hidratação na idade inicial de cimentos YCC produzidos a partir do coprocessamento do SFCC. Para isso, foram produzidos seis clínqueres com diferentes teores de ye’elimita, com e sem SFCC. Estes foram caracterizados por DRX/Rietveld. Abstract Given the environmental impacts associated with the production of conventional Portland cement, the study of special cements with reduced environmental impact has been a trend. In this context, cements containing ye'elimite (YCC) stand out due to their low CO 2 emissions. Despite the environmental advantages, the high demand for aluminum economically limits the production of these cements.An alternative to making its production feasible is using residual raw materials as a source of Al 2 O 3 , such as SFCC (spent fluidized catalytic cracking).In view of this, this work aims to evaluate hydration at the initial age of cements. For this, six clinkers were produced with different ye'elimite contents, with and without SFCC. These were characterized by XRD/Rietveld. The pastes were evaluated by TG/DTG and XRD/Rietveld to understand the hydration mechanism on the third day of these cements. It was possible to synthesize the main phases of YCC, in clinkers with and without SFCC. RESUMEN El apoyo social es una dimensión esencial para romper las dificultades de participación social de los estudiantes con discapacidad. El objetivo del presente estudio fue conocer la perspectiva de estudiantes con incapacidad auditiva, visual, física o motora y dificultades específicas de aprendizaje sobre lo que consideran suporte social. Con este fin, se desenrolló un estudio cualitativo con 15 estudiantes de 3.º a 12.º grado (8 a 18 años de edad). Las entrevistas semiestructuradas fueron analizadas a partir de categorías previamente definidas; de los datos surgieron subcategorías. Los estudiantes valoraron la disponibilidad de sus compañeros y maestros para apoyarlos e involucrarlos en las actividades de clase y la expresión de empatía y cuidado. También se refirieron a situaciones de rechazo y exclusión. El artículo discute condiciones que favorecen el conocimiento del otro y una cultura de suporte social recíproco, esencial para facilitar la participación social.

ABSTRACT Social support is essential for overcoming the difficulties that students with special educational needs face in interacting with peers. The goal of the study was to explore the perspective of students presenting with hearing, visual and physical or motor deficiencies and specific learning difficulties about what they consider to be social support. To this end, we developed a qualitative study. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 15 students (3rd to the 12th grade; 8 to 18 years old). Answers were analyzed from previously defined categories, subcategories emerged from the data. Students valued the availability of their classmates and teachers to support and involve them in class activities, as well as expressions of empathy, care and attention. Students mentioned situations of rejection and exclusion. The paper discusses conditions that favor mutual knowledge and a culture of reciprocal social support, both of which are essential to facilitate students’ social participation.

RESUMO O suporte social permite quebrar dificuldades de participação social de alunos com necessidades educativas específicas. O objetivo do estudo foi conhecer a perspetiva de alunos com deficiência auditiva, visual, físico-motora e dificuldades específicas de aprendizagem sobre o que consideram ser suporte social. Para tal, foi desenvolvido um estudo de natureza qualitativa. Foram realizadas entrevistas semiestruturadas a 15 alunos com estas condições (do 3.º ao 12.º, com idades entre os 8 e 18 anos). As respostas foram analisadas a partir de categorias previamente definidas, tendo emergido um conjunto de subcategorias a partir dos dados. Os alunos valorizaram a disponibilidade dos seus colegas e professores para os apoiar e os envolver nas atividades da turma e a expressão de empatia e cuidado. Referiram também situações de rejeição e exclusão. No artigo são discutidas condições que favorecem o conhecimento do outro e uma cultura de suporte social recíproco, essenciais para a participação social.

Abstract The development of vaccinations has been game-changing in the ongoing effort to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. Until now, adverse effects are being reported at low frequency, including thrombocytopenia and myocarditis. Careful monitoring for any suspicious symptoms and signs following vaccination is necessary. We report a case of hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) after mRNA COVID-19 vaccine in a 23-year-old female with ulcerative colitis. Diagnosis was made according to HLH-2004 criteria and the patient was treated with dexamethasone with response. Our report aimed to draw attention to the potential relation between COVID-19 vaccines and HLH and the necessity of continued surveillance, especially in at-risk populations such as those with underlying immune dysregulation.

Resumo O desenvolvimento de vacinas foi um ponto de viragem no combate contra a pandemia da COVID-19. Até ao momento, os efeitos adversos como a trombocitopenia e miocardite têm sido reportados com baixa frequência. A monitorização cuidadosa de qualquer sinal ou sintoma suspeitos é essencial. Reportamos um caso de linfohistiocitose hemofagocítica após vacinação contra a COVID-19 com uma vacina de mRNA, numa jovem de 23 anos com colite ulcerosa. O diagnóstico obedeceu os critérios HLH-2004 e a paciente foi tratada com dexametasona, com resposta. Pretendemos chamar à atenção para a potencial relação entre a vacinação para a COVID-19 e a HLH e a necessária contínua vigilância, especialmente em populações de maior risco, como as portadoras de doenças imuno-mediadas.

Abstract Objective: to carry out a scoping review with the purpose of mapping the scientific evidence on the use of the neutropenic diet in neutropenic pediatric cancer patients. Source of data: The scoping review protocol was prepared in accordance with the PRISMA-ScR and the checklist before the literature search was performed. Articles on nutritional management in adults or on the treatment of other diseases, and articles that were not in Portuguese or English and published before the year 2000, were excluded. Data were extracted based on the Cochrane Consumer and Communication Review Group form. Summary of the findings: Three hundred and forty scientific articles were identified, with the final sample of this review consisting of nine studies. Although the neutropenic diet has been part of the nutritional management of pediatric cancer patients for more than 20 years, there is still great variation in the criteria for indicating use and starting and discontinuing it, as well as in the nutritional composition of the diet. Furthermore, there is no consensus on the impact of using a neutropenic diet on different clinical and nutritional outcomes. Conclusion: In the absence of guidelines that standardize the use of a neutropenic diet in pediatric patients with neutropenia, there are heterogeneous approaches reported in the literature, even within the same institution. The available literature presents an absence of evidence on the use, viability, and effectiveness of the neutropenic diet in oncological children with neutropenia. More studies are needed to identify the real impact of the neutropenic diet on clinical and nutritional outcomes. ABSTRACT Palliative care (PC) is a differentiated healthcare area focused on promoting comfort, and preventing and alleviating suffering. End-of-life (EOL) care is integrated into this branch of medicine and will have great relevance in the near future as a result of increased life expectancy and highly disabling chronic diseases. It is imperative that healthcare professionals have the capacity and preparation to guarantee this care. The objective of this work is to propose a model that relates spirituality, emotional intelligence, PC knowledge, self-efficacy, and the ability of doctors and nurses to provide EOL care. A questionnaire was applied to collect data. The relationships between these latent variables were evaluated using structural equation models. The results indicate that self-efficacy, spirituality and knowledge positively influence the ability to provide EOL care. Emotional intelligence and spirituality directly and positively affect self-efficacy. Emotional intelligence has an indirect effect, mediated by self-efficacy, on the ability to provide EOL care.

RESUMO Os cuidados paliativos (CP) são uma área diferenciada do cuidar em saúde, centrada na promoção do conforto, na prevenção e no alívio do sofrimento. Os cuidados em fim de vida (CFV) estão integrados neste ramo da medicina e terão num futuro próximo uma grande relevância, fruto do aumento da expectativa de vida e de doenças crónicas altamente incapacitantes. Torna-se imperativo que os profissionais de saúde tenham capacidade e preparação para assegurarem estes cuidados. O objetivo deste trabalho é propor um modelo que relacione a espiritualidade, a inteligência emocional, o conhecimento em CP, autoeficácia e capacidade para prestar CFV por médicos e enfermeiros. Para a recolha de dados foi utilizado um questionário. As relações entre estas variáveis latentes foram avaliadas utilizando modelos de equações estruturais. Os resultados indicam que a autoeficácia, a espiritualidade e o conhecimento influenciam positivamente a capacidade de prestação de CFV. A inteligência emocional e a espiritualidade afetam de forma direta e positiva a autoeficácia. A inteligência emocional tem um efeito indireto, mediado pela autoeficácia sobre a capacidade de prestação de CFV.

RESUMO: A enxertia cutânea é uma técnica cirúrgica simples e bastante útil para o reparo de feridas, principalmente, quando há dificuldade em realizar a síntese direta ou outras técnicas reconstrutivas. O laser de baixa intensidade (LBI) já foi utilizado com sucesso em casos em que o enxerto foi aplicado em feridas logo após a sua criação. No entanto, a LBI ainda carece de padronizações, mediante estudos conflitantes sobre seus resultados. Desta forma, este trabalho objetivou comparar a eficácia da LBI de onda contínua com onda pulsada na estimulação da cicatrização de enxertos cutâneos, aplicados em feridas recém-criadas em coelhos. Para tanto, foram utilizados 31 coelhos distribuídos em: grupo controle (GC, n = 10), grupo laser onda contínua (GLC; n = 10) e grupo laser onda pulsada (GLP; n = 11). O manejo pós operatório foi semelhante entre todos os grupos, com exceção da aplicação do laser, conforme o grupo indicado. Os grupos GLC e GLP apresentaram evolução semelhante, com processo cicatricial satisfatório do enxerto, ao contrário do grupo GC. Tais resultados se mantiveram na avaliação microscópica, pois os grupos tratados com laser apresentaram menor inflamação, melhor integração à área receptora, maior reepitelização e colagenização. Não houve diferença na densidade vascular entre os grupos de tratamento na análise imuno-histoquímica. A ferida recém-criada não é capaz de fornecer nutrição para o enxerto cutâneo nos coelhos, mas a LBI é uma terapia adjuvante eficiente em estimular a cicatrização entre a área receptora e o enxerto, promovendo integração total. Entretanto, embora não houve diferença estatística na forma de emissão de luz, pulsada ou contínua, os pacientes que receberam LBI em onda contínua apresentam evolução microscópica superior. ABSTRACT: Skin grafting is a simple and very useful surgical technique for wound repair, especially where there is difficulty in performing direct synthesis or other reconstructive techniques. low-intensity laser (LIL) has already been used successfully in cases where the graft was applied to wounds shortly after its creation. However, LIL still lacks standardization due to conflicting studies on its results. Thus, this study compared the effectiveness of continuous wave LIL with pulsed wave LIL in stimulating the healing of skin grafts, applied to newly created wounds in rabbits. For this purpose, 31 rabbits were distributed into: control group (CG, n = 10), continuous wave laser group (GLC; n = 10) and pulsed wave laser group (GLP; n = 11). Postoperative management was similar between all groups, with the exception of laser application, as indicated by the group. The GLC and GLP groups showed similar evolution, with a satisfactory healing process of the graft, unlike the GC group. These results were maintained in the microscopic evaluation, as the groups treated with laser showed less inflammation, better integration with the receptor area, greater re-epithelialization and collagenization. There was no difference in vascular density between the treatment groups on immunohistochemical analysis. The newly created wound was not able to provide nutrition for the skin graft in rabbits, but LIL is an efficient adjuvant therapy in stimulating healing between the recipient area and the graft, promoting full integration. Resumen: Aunque Brasil ha presentado avances en la atención obstétrica en hospitales públicos y privados, todavía hay puntos débiles que necesitan atención. El Ministerio de Salud, consciente de esta necesidad, financió la segunda versión de la encuesta Nacer en Brasil. Los objetivos generales son: evaluar la atención prenatal, el parto y el nacimiento, el puerperio y el aborto, comparando con los resultados del Nacer en Brasil I, y analizar los principales determinantes de la morbimortalidad perinatal; evaluar la estructura y los procesos de atención de los servicios de obstetricia y neonatología en las maternidades; analizar los conocimientos, prácticas y actitudes de los profesionales de la salud que brindan atención para el parto y el aborto; e identificar las principales barreras y facilitadores para esta atención en el país. Tiene un alcance nacional y muestra probabilística en dos etapas (1-hospitales y 2-mujeres), la cual se dividió en 59 estratos; y se seleccionaron 465 hospitales con un total planificado de aproximadamente 24.255 mujeres, de las cuales 2.205 tuvieron procedimientos por aborto y 22.050 por parto. Para la recolección de datos se aplicó seis instrumentos electrónicos, que se realizó durante la hospitalización por parto o aborto, con dos rondas de seguimiento, a los dos y cuatro meses. Os objetivos gerais são: avaliar a assistência pré-natal, ao parto e nascimento, ao puerpério e ao aborto, comparando com os resultados do Nascer no Brasil I, e analisar os principais determinantes da morbimortalidade perinatal; avaliar a estrutura e processos assistenciais dos serviços de obstetrícia e neonatologia das maternidades; analisar os conhecimentos, atitudes e práticas de profissionais de saúde que prestam assistência ao parto e ao aborto; e identificar as principais barreiras e facilitadores para essa assistência no país. Com escopo nacional e amostra probabilística em dois estágios (1-hospitais e 2-mulheres), dividida em 59 estratos, foram selecionados 465 hospitais com total planejado de, aproximadamente, 24.255 mulheres, 2.205 por motivo de aborto e 22.050 por motivo de parto. Abstract: Brazil has made advances in obstetric care in public and private hospitals; however, weaknesses in this system still require attention. The Brazilian Ministry of Health, aware of this need, funded the second version of the Birth in Brazil survey. This study aimed to evaluate: prenatal, labor and birth, postpartum, and abortion care, comparing the results with those of Birth in Brazil I; and analyze the main determinants of perinatal morbidity and mortality; evaluate the care structure and processes of obstetrics and neonatology services in maternity hospitals; analyze the knowledge, practices, and attitudes of health professionals who provide birth and abortion care; and identify the main barriers and facilitators related to care of this nature in Brazil. With a national scope and a 2-stage probability sample: 1-hospitals and 2-women, stratified into 59 strata, 465 hospitals were selected with a total planned sample of around 24,255 women - 2,205 for abortion reasons and 22,050 for labor reasons. Data collection was conducted using six electronic instruments during hospital admission for labor or abortion, with two follow-up waves, at two and four months. In order to expand the number of cases of severe maternal morbidity, maternal and perinatal mortality, three case control studies were incorporated into Birth in Brazil II. The fieldwork began in November 2021 and is scheduled to end in 2023. It will allow a comparison between current labor and birth care results and those obtained in the first study and will evaluate the advances achieved in 10 years.

Los casos de morbilidad materna severa, maternal near miss y muertes perinatales son importantes indicadores de salud y comparten los mismos determinantes sociales, y tienen una estrecha relación con las condiciones de vida y la calidad de la asistencia perinatal. Este artículo pretende presentar el protocolo de estudio que tiene como objetivo estimar la tasa de mortalidad perinatal y la incidencia de morbilidad materna severa y maternal near miss en el país, así como identificar sus determinantes. Se trata de un estudio transversal integrado a la investigación Nacer en Brasil II, realizada entre el 2021 y el 2023. Este estudio incluirá 155 maternidades públicas, mixtas y privadas, con más de 2.750 partos al año, que participan en el Nacer en Brasil II. En estas maternidades, se realizará una recopilación retrospectiva de datos de las historias clínicas maternas y neonatales de todas las hospitalizaciones ocurridas en un período de 30 días, con la aplicación de un formulario de triaje para identificar casos de morbilidad materna y de muerte perinatal. Los datos de las historias clínicas de todos los casos identificados se recopilarán tras el alta hospitalaria, mediante un instrumento estandarizado. Los casos de morbilidad materna severa y maternal near miss se clasificarán por medio de la definición adoptada por la Organización Mundial de la Salud. Se estimará la tasa de mortalidad perinatal y la incidencia de morbilidad materna severa y maternal near miss. Los casos se compararán con los controles obtenidos en el estudio Nacer en Brasil II, emparejados por hospital y duración del embarazo, para identificar factores asociados con desenlaces negativos. Se espera que los resultados de este artículo contribuyan al conocimiento sobre la morbilidad materna y la mortalidad perinatal en el país, así como a la elaboración de estrategias para mejorar el cuidado.

Este artigo pretende apresentar o protocolo de estudo que visa estimar a taxa de mortalidade perinatal e a incidência de morbidade materna grave e near miss materno no país, assim como identificar seus determinantes. Trata-se de estudo transversal integrado à pesquisa Nascer no Brasil II, realizada entre 2021 e 2023. Serão incluídas neste estudo 155 maternidades públicas, mistas e privadas, com mais de 2.750 partos por ano, participantes do Nascer no Brasil II. Nessas maternidades, será realizada coleta retrospectiva de dados de prontuário materno e neonatal de todas as internações ocorridas num período de 30 dias, com aplicação de uma ficha de triagem para identificação de casos de morbidade materna e de óbito perinatal. Dados de prontuário de todos os casos identificados serão coletados após a alta hospitalar, utilizando instrumento padronizado. Casos de morbidade materna grave e near miss materno serão classificados por meio da definição adotada pela Organização Mundial da Saúde. Será estimada a taxa de mortalidade perinatal e a incidência de morbidade materna grave e near miss materno. Os casos serão comparados a controles obtidos na pesquisa Nascer no Brasil II, pareados por hospital e duração da gestação, visando a identificação de fatores associados aos desfechos negativos. Espera-se que os resultados deste artigo contribuam para o conhecimento sobre a morbidade materna e a mortalidade perinatal no país, bem como para a elaboração de estratégias de melhoria do cuidado.

Abstract: Brazil presents high maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. Cases of severe maternal morbidity, maternal near miss, and perinatal deaths are important health indicators and share the same determinants, being closely related to living conditions and quality of perinatal care. This article aims to present the study protocol to estimate the perinatal mortality rate and the incidence of severe maternal morbidity and maternal near miss in the country, identifying its determinants. Cross-sectional study integrated into the research Birth in Brazil II, conducted from 2021 to 2023. This study will include 155 public, mixed and private maternities, accounting for more than 2,750 births per year, participating in the Birth in Brazil II survey. We will collect retrospective data from maternal and neonatal records of all hospitalizations within a 30-day period in these maternities, applying a screening form to identify cases of maternal morbidity and perinatal deaths. Medical record data of all identified cases will be collected after hospital discharge, using a standardized instrument. Cases of severe maternal morbidity and maternal near miss will be classified based on the definition adopted by the World Health Organization. The perinatal deaths rate and the incidence of severe maternal morbidity and maternal near miss will be estimated. Cases will be compared to controls obtained in the Birth in Brazil II survey, matched by hospital and duration of pregnancy, in order to identify factors associated with negative outcomes. Results are expected to contribute to the knowledge on maternal morbidity and perinatal deaths in Brazil, as well as the development of strategies to improve care.

Abstract Neglect is one of the most frequently reported forms of violence against children and adolescents, although it has rarely been explored in national studies. In this light, the present study aimed to analyze the personal social network of families involved in negligence against children and adolescents. This work takes a qualitative approach, anchored in the Paradigm of Complexity, conducted with twenty families involved in negligence against children and adolescents in a municipality in the countryside of the state of São Paulo, Brazil. Data collection took place through minimal maps of the personal social network and semi-structured interviews in January 2021. The networks were limited, with little to no interaction among the different services and sectors, and were predominantly homogeneous. Because they have many weakened ties, they are relatively unsupportive, pointing out difficulties in access to work, education, and health. Due to the characteristics of the network, the complexity of the phenomenon of neglect was identified, in which elements condition and perpetuate experiences of absence and fragility. Interprofessional and intersectoral views and actions are requested and recommended.

Resumo A negligência constitui uma das violências contra crianças e adolescentes mais notificadas, entretanto ainda pouco explorada em estudos nacionais. O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar a rede pessoal social de famílias envolvidas na negligência contra crianças e adolescentes. Estudo qualitativo, ancorado no paradigma da complexidade, realizado junto a 20 familiares envolvidos na negligência contra crianças e adolescentes em município do interior de São Paulo, Brasil. A coleta de dados se deu por mapas mínimos da rede pessoal social e entrevistas semiestruturadas em janeiro de 2021. As redes se apresentaram reduzidas, com pouca ou nenhuma articulação entre os diferentes serviços e setores e predominantemente homogêneas. Por terem muitos vínculos fragilizados, mostrou-se pouco sustentadora, apontando dificuldades no acesso a trabalho, educação e saúde. Pelas características da rede, identificou-se a complexidade do fenômeno da negligência, em que elementos condicionam e perpetuam vivências de ausências e fragilidades. Olhares e ações interprofissionais e intersetoriais são pleiteadas e recomendadas.

Resumo: Este trabalho apresenta os resultados do estudo Eu Quero é Mais! A Vida de Profissionais do Sexo Durante a Pandemia da COVID-19, integrante do programa de investigação comunitária EPIC. O estudo analisou os efeitos da pandemia nas vidas de trabalhadoras sexuais cis, trans e travestis em nove Unidades da Federação e 11 cidades brasileiras ao longo de 2020 e 2021. O artigo tem como foco o componente qualitativo do estudo baseado em entrevistas semiestruturadas realizadas de forma presencial e remota com 43 trabalhadoras sexuais, e seu cotejamento com o componente quantitativo. Os efeitos são analisados em relação com o marco pandêmico brasileiro, considerando as dimensões sociais, econômicas e políticas do vírus da COVID-19. Entre as temáticas chaves da análise, se destacam: casos de adoecimento, práticas localizadas de isolamento social, práticas de prevenção e gerenciamento de cuidado, vacinação individual e estratégias coletivas de vacinação. Compartilhamos também as respostas cotidianas e ativistas traçadas por trabalhadoras sexuais numa agenda política que se contrapõe à lógica individualista, familiarista, doméstica e neoliberal de isolamento, por meio de perspectivas comunitárias de cuidado, o que se desenhou como a única linha de ação em saúde para a categoria durante a pandemia. As ações coletivas reposicionam o trabalho sexual na interface entre a saúde pública e os direitos humanos e tomam como princípio os conhecimentos das ruas, desde os ativismos, e o poder de decisão delas próprias sobre seus corpos.

La Vida de las Profesionales del Sexo Durante la Pandemia de la COVID-19, parte del programa de investigación comunitaria EPIC. El estudio analizó los efectos de la pandemia en la vida de trabajadoras sexuales cis, trans y travestis en 9 estados y 11 ciudades brasileñas a lo largo del 2020 y del 2021. El artículo se centra en el componente cualitativo del estudio basado en entrevistas semiestructuradas realizadas de forma presencial y remota a 43 trabajadoras sexuales y su comparación con el componente cuantitativo. Los efectos se analizan con relación al marco pandémico brasileño, considerando las dimensiones sociales, económicas y políticas del virus de la COVID-19. Entre las temáticas clave del análisis, destacan: casos de enfermedad, prácticas localizadas de aislamiento social, prácticas de prevención y gestión del cuidado, vacunación individual y estrategias colectivas de vacunación. Compartimos también las respuestas cotidianas y activistas esbozadas por las trabajadoras sexuales en una agenda política que se opone a la lógica individualista, familiarista, doméstica y neoliberal del aislamiento, por medio de perspectivas comunitarias de cuidado, lo que se diseñó como la única línea de acción en salud para la categoría durante la pandemia. Las acciones colectivas reposicionan el trabajo sexual en la interfaz entre la salud pública y los derechos humanos y toman como principio el conocimiento de la calle, desde el activismo, y su poder de decisión sobre sus cuerpos.

Abstract: This paper describes the results of the study I Want More! The Lives of Sex Workers During the COVID-19 Pandemic, which is part of the EPIC community research program. The study analyzed the effects of the pandemic on the lives of cis, trans and travesti sex workers in nine Brazilian states and 11 cities throughout 2020 and 2021. This article focuses on the qualitative component of the study, which was based on semi-structured, remote and face-to-face interviews carried out with 43 sex workers, and its comparison with the quantitative component. The effects are analyzed in relation to the Brazilian pandemic framework, considering the social, economic and political dimensions of the COVID-19 virus. Some of the key themes of the analysis are cases of illness, specific social isolation practices, prevention and care management practices, individual vaccination and collective vaccination strategies. We also share the daily and activist responses drawn up by sex workers in a political agenda that opposes the individualistic, familialist, domestic, and neoliberal logic of isolation by adopting community care perspectives, which was the only line of health action for this work category during the pandemic. Collective actions reposition sex work at the interface between public health and human rights and take as their principle the “street knowledge”, from activism, and the workers’ power of decision over their own bodies.

ABSTRACT Lippia dulcis is a medicinal species used by communities in the Amazon region for the control of diabetes and as a tranquilizer. The objective of this study was to evaluate the plant biomass production, antioxidant defense, and chemical profiles of the phenolic compounds and essential oil of plants grown under different doses of cattle, quail, and chicken manure. Chicken and quail manure at a dose of 6 kg m-2 reached the highest values of dry weight and essential oil yield of the leaves and positively influenced bisabolol production. Cattle manure affected the content and yield of the essential oil of the inflorescences, the antioxidant defense performance, and the chemical composition of phenolic compounds and essential oil. Plants grown with cattle manure showed a linear increase in the amounts of these substances with increasing dose. Chicken and quail manure led to the highest values of these components at doses between 0 and 3 kg m-2. The evaluation of phenolic compounds and antioxidant defense showed the highest values at doses of 0, 1.5, and 3 kg m-2, regardless of the manure used. The essential oil concentration was higher in the inflorescences, and its total yield was higher in the leaves. RESUMO Objetivo: Caracterizar os fatores ambientais de crianças e adolescentes com paralisia cerebral (PC) no estado de Minas Gerais (MG), Brasil. Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo transversal envolvendo 164 cuidadores de crianças/adolescentes com PC, na faixa etária de um a 14 anos. O Sistema de Classificação da Função Motora Grossa (GMFCS) e o Sistema de Classificação da Habilidade Manual (MACS) foram utilizados para classificar a funcionalidade dos participantes e os fatores ambientais foram avaliados por um questionário on-line que abordou produtos e tecnologias, ambiente físico, serviços e sistemas. Análises descritivas foram realizadas por meio de porcentagem e frequência. Resultados: A maioria dos participantes tinha PC bilateral (66,9%) e 45% deles eram espásticos. Os níveis II e V do GMFCS e MACS foram os mais frequentes. Cerca de metade (49,4%) fazia uso de anticonvulsivantes, 27,4% realizaram aplicação de toxina botulínica e 29% cirurgia ortopédica em membros inferiores. Utilizavam órteses em membros inferiores 71,3% e eram usuários do sistema público de saúde 51,8%. A maioria tinha acesso à fisioterapia (91,5%), mas dificuldade de acesso a intervenções com outros profissionais, como psicólogos (28%) e nutricionistas (37,8%). A escola foi o ambiente mais frequentado (78%) e também mais adaptado estruturalmente (42,7%). Conclusões: Os resultados deste estudo sugerem que barreiras de acesso aos serviços de saúde e barreiras no ambiente físico podem impactar a participação e inclusão social. ABSTRACT Objective: To characterize the environmental factors of children and adolescents with Cerebral Palsy (CP) in the state of Minas Gerais (MG), Brazil. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study involving 164 caregivers of children/adolescents with CP, aged 1-14 years. The Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS) and the Manual Ability Classification System (MACS) were used to classify the participants’ functioning, and environmental factors were evaluated by an on-line questionnaire that examined products and technologies, physical environment, services, and systems. A descriptive analysis was performed using percentage and frequency. Results: Most participants had bilateral CP (66.9%) and 45% of them were spastic. Levels II and V of the GMFCS and MACS were the most frequent. About half (49.4%) used anticonvulsants, 27.4% underwent botulinum toxin application, and 29% went through orthopedic surgery in the lower limbs. Among the participants, 71.3% used orthoses in the lower limbs, and 51.8% used the public health care system. Most had access to physiotherapy (91.5%), but found difficulties to access interventions with other professionals, such as psychologists (28%) and nutritionists (37.8%). The school was the most frequently adapted environment (78%), and had the highest level of structural adaptation (42.7%). Conclusions: The results of this study suggest that the barriers to access health services and barriers to the physical environment may impact participation and social inclusion.
