RESUMO O objetivo foi verificar o efeito agudo do alongamento estático (AE) dos músculos Ísquiotibiais sobre o desempenho da força e ativação mioelétrica (EMGRMS) da musculatura antagonista. Doze homens (20,28 ± 1,50 anos; 83,35 ± 17,86 Kg; 177,28 ± 9,64 cm) experientes em treinamento de força foram divididos aleatoriamente nos grupos AE e controle (GC). No AE foram realizadas três repetições de 30s de alongamento estático nos Ísquiotibiais e em seguida foi medida a amplitude de movimento (ADM). Logo após, foi medido o desempenho da força e EMGRMS dos músculos vasto lateral (VL) e vasto medial (VM) durante o teste de 10-RM na cadeira extensora. A ANOVA de duas entradas encontrou diferença significativa na ADM no efeito principal tempo (P = 0,019), quanto para interação grupo x tempo (P = 0,023), com aumento significativo na ADM após o alongamento (P = 0,013). O número de repetições do AL aumentou significativamente (P = 0,014; 16%) em relação ao GC. Não houve mudança significativa no EMGRMS de nenhum dos músculos testados. O emprego do alongamento estático pode melhorar o desempenho da força na musculatura antagonista.

ABSTRACT The present study aimed to verify the acute effect of static stretching (SS) of the hamstrings muscles on the mioletric activation (EMGRMS) and strength performance of the antagonist muscle. Twelve men (20.28 ± 1.50 years, 83.35 ± 17.86 kg, 177.28 ± 9.64 cm) experienced in strength training were randomly divided into SS and control groups (GC). For the SS, three repetitions of 30s of static stretching were performed on the hamstrings and then the range of motion (ROM) was assessed. Subsequently, the strength performance and EMGRMS of the vastus lateralis (VL) and vastus medialis (MV) were assessed during the 10-RM test in the extensor chair. The twoway ANOVA found a significant difference in ROM for the main time effect (P = 0.019) and for group x time interaction (P = 0.023), with a significant increase in ROM after stretching (P = 0.013). The number of repetitions ater stretching increased significantly (P = 0.014; 16%) compared to the CG. There was no significant change in EMGRMS os the assessed muscles. The use of static stretching can improve the strength performance of the antagonist musculature.

Resumo Introdução: Bandagens elásticas (BE), como a Kinesio taping, têm sido amplamente utilizadas em atividades esportivas ou da vida cotidiana com o objetivo de prevenir ou reduzir as lesões musculoesqueléticas. Tem sido sugerido que a Kinesio Taping é capaz de alterar a ativação muscular por meio de mecanismos neurofisiológicos, mas as evidências são controversas. Objetivo: verificar o efeito agudo da BE sobre a força isométrica voluntária máxima (FIVM) e ativação muscular do músculo deltoide médio durante a contração muscular. Método: Vinte e quatro participantes saudáveis, do sexo masculino (24 ± 4 anos; 73,2 ± 13,9kg; 1,80 ± 0,1m) foram distribuídos aleatoriamente em grupo com a bandagem elástica ativada a 100% (BEA n = 8) e com bandagem elástica sem tensão (BEN n = 8), ambas posicionadas no ombro; além do grupo controle (GC = 9). Os voluntários foram orientados a realizar 5s de contração isométrica máxima a 90° de abdução da articulação do ombro enquanto os registros de FIVM e EMGrms eram captados. Resultados: A ANOVA de uma entrada não foi capaz de identificar diferença significativa (α = 0,05) na FIVM e na EMGrms do deltoide médio a 90° de abdução da articulação do ombro. Conclusão: A aplicação da bandagem elástica não foi capaz de alterar a produção da força isométrica voluntária máxima e a ativação do músculo deltoide médio de indivíduos saudáveis e, portanto, seu uso não se justifica para esses fins.

Abstract Introduction: Elastic bandages (EB), such as Kinesio taping, have been widely used in sports or daily life activities with the aim of preventing or reducing musculoskeletal injuries. It has been suggested that Kinesio Taping is capable of altering muscle activation through neurophysiological mechanisms, but the evidences about this are controversial. Objective: To verify the acute effect of EB on maximum voluntary isometric force (MVIF) and muscle activation of the middle deltoid muscle during muscle contraction. Method: Twenty-four healthy male (24 ± 4 years, 73.2 ± 13.9kg, 1.80 ± 0.10m) were randomly assigned to a group with elastic bandage activated at 100% (AEB n = 8); with tensionless elastic bandage (NEB n = 8), and the control group (CG n = 9). The volunteers were instructed to perform 5s of maximal isometric contraction at 90° of shoulder abduction while the MIVF and EMGrms records were registered. Results: One-way ANOVA was unable to identify significant difference (α = 0.05) in MIVF and EMGrms of the middle deltoid at 90° of shoulder abduction. Conclusion: The application of elastic bandage was not able to alter the production of maximal isometric voluntary contraction and activation of the middle deltoid muscle of healthy individuals and, therefore, its use is not justified for these purposes.

Resumen Introducción: Vendaje elásticos (VE), como la Kinesio taping, han sido ampliamente utilizadas en actividades deportivas o de la vida cotidiana con el objetivo de prevenir o reducir las lesiones musculoesqueléticas. Se ha sugerido que la Kinesio Taping es capaz de alterar la activación muscular por medio de mecanismos neurofisiológicos, pero las evidencias son controvertidas. Objetivo: verificar el efecto agudo de los VE sobre la fuerza isométrica voluntaria máxima (FIVM) y activación muscular del músculo deltoide medio durante la contracción muscular. Método: Veinticuatro participantes sanos, del sexo masculino (24 ± 4 años, 73,2 ± 13,9kg, 1,80 ± 0,1m) fueron distribuidos aleatoriamente en grupo con el vendage elástico activado al 100% (VEA n = 8); con el vendaje elástico sin tensión (VEN n = 8; y el grupo de control (GC = 9). Los voluntarios fueron orientados a realizar 5s de contracción isométrica máxima a 90° de abducción de la articulación del hombro mientras los registros de FIVM y EMGrms eran captados. Resultados: La ANOVA de una entrada no fue capaz de identificar diferencia significativa (α = 0,05) en la FIVM y en la EMGrms del deltoide medio a 90° de abducción de la articulación del hombro. Conclusión: La aplicación de el vendaje elástico no fue capaz de alterar la producción de fuerza isométrica voluntaria máxima y la activación del músculo deltoide medio de individuos sanos y, por lo tanto, su uso no está justificado para esos propósitos.

RESUMO Introdução: Apesar de existirem evidências sobre o efeito agudo do alongamento estático sobre a força dinâmica, pouco se sabe se o volume total do protocolo é mais importante do que o tempo individual dedicado a cada série. Objetivo: Verificar o efeito de duas rotinas distintas de alongamento estático com mesmo volume total, sobre a amplitude de movimento (ADM) passiva, a ativação muscular (EMGRMS e EMGFM) e o desempenho da força de resistência (10-RM). Métodos: Catorze indivíduos do sexo masculino foram submetidos a três procedimentos diferentes, de forma randomizada: a) condição controle (CC), b) alongamento estático fracionado (AL-30 s) e c) alongamento estático contínuo (AL-2 min.). Para medir a ADM usou-se o método de fotogrametria digital, e o desempenho da força e a ativação mioelétrica foram aferidos pelos testes de 10-RM no exercício leg press unilateral e pelo registro do sinal eletromiográfico do músculo vasto lateral (VL), respectivamente. Resultados: Houve diferença significativa na ADM nas comparações de AL-2 minutos vs. CC (P = 0,006) e AL-30 s vs. CC (P = 0,01). As duas condições de alongamento promoveram aumentos agudos significativos na ADM nas comparações anterior e imediatamente após (P = 0,0001; 144,2 ± 10,2 vs. 152,2 ± 10,5 para AL-30 s e 147,4 ± 11,9 vs. 155,1 ± 9,9 para AL-2 min.), porém, sem diferença entre os procedimentos. Não houve diferença significativa para nenhuma das outras variáveis testadas. Conclusão: Rotinas contínuas e fracionadas de alongamento estático com menor volume podem ser utilizadas para aumentar de forma aguda os níveis de ADM sem provocar prejuízo nos níveis de força ou de ativação muscular. ABSTRACT Introduction: Although there is evidence of the acute effect of static stretching on dynamic force, it is not known whether the total volume of the protocol is more important than the individual time spent in each series. Objective: To evaluate the effect of two different static stretching routines with the same total volume on passive range of motion (ROM), muscle activation (EMGRMS and EMGFM) and the performance resistance force (10-RM). Methods: Fourteen male subjects underwent three different randomized procedures: a) control condition (CC); b) fractionated static stretching (SS-30 s), and c) continuous static stretching (SS-2 min.). To measure the ROM, the digital photogrammetry method was used, and the force performance and myoelectric activation were measured by the 10-RM test in the unilateral leg press exercise and by the electromyographic signal of the vastus lateralis (VL), respectively. Results: There was significant difference in the ROM in the comparison between SS-2 min. vs. CC (P=0.006) and SS-30 s vs. CC (P=0.01). Both stretching conditions promoted significant acute increases in ROM in the comparisons prior to and immediately after (P=0.0001, 144.2±10.2 vs. 152.2±10.5 for SS-30 s and 147.4±11.9 vs. 155.1±9.9 for SS-2 min.), but with no difference between procedures. There was no significant difference for any other variables tested. Conclusion: Continuous and fractionated static stretching routines with less volume can be used to acutely increase the ROM levels without causing damage to muscle strength or activation levels. RESUMEN Introducción: A pesar de que existen evidencias sobre el efecto agudo del estiramiento estático sobre la fuerza dinámica, poco se sabe si el volumen total del protocolo es más importante que el tiempo individual dedicado a cada serie. Objetivo: Verificar el efecto de dos rutinas distintas de estiramiento estático, con el mismo volumen total, sobre la amplitud de movimiento (ADM) pasiva, la activación muscular (EMGRMS y EMGFM) y el desempeño de la fuerza de resistencia (10-RM). Métodos: Catorce sujetos del sexo masculino se sometieron a tres procedimientos diferentes, de forma aleatorizada; a) condición de control (CC); b) estiramiento estático fraccionado (ES-30 s) y c) estiramiento estático continuo (ES-2 min.). Para medir la ADM se utilizó el método de fotogrametría digital, y el desempeño de la fuerza y la activación mioeléctrica fueron evaluados por las pruebas de 10-RM en el ejercicio de prensa de piernas unilateral y por registro de la señal electromiográfica del músculo vasto lateral (VL), respectivamente. Resultados: Se encontró una diferencia significativa en ADM en las comparaciones de ES-2 minutos vs. CC (P = 0,006) y ES-30 s vs. CC (P = 0,01). Las dos condiciones de estiramiento promovieron aumentos agudos significativos en la ADM en las comparaciones antes e inmediatamente después (P = 0,0001, 144,2 ± 10,2 vs. 152,2 ± 10,5 para ES-30 s y 147,4 ± 11,9 vs. 155,1 ± 9,9 para ES-2 min.), sin embargo, sin diferencia entre los procedimientos. No hubo diferencia significativa para ninguna de las otras variables probadas. Conclusión: Las rutinas continuas y fraccionadas de estiramiento estático con menor volumen pueden ser utilizadas para aumentar de forma aguda los niveles de ADM sin provocar daño en los niveles de fuerza o de activación muscular. Resumo O objetivo do estudo foi verificar os efeitos agudos do alongamento estático passivo (AEP) sobre o comprimento (CF) e ângulo do fascículo (AF) do músculo vasto lateral (VL) em duas diferentes posições articulares. Doze homens (26,9 ± 7,5 anos; 178,6 ± 7,0 cm; e 82,5 ± 16,8 kg), fisicamente ativos foram posicionados em decúbito ventral para aquisição de imagens de ultrassonografia (US) do VL, registradas com joelho estendido e totalmente flexionado, até o conato do calcanhar com o glúteo, antes e após uma rotina de AEP composta por três repetições de 30 s com manutenção da posição no limite de desconforto relatado pelo participante. O teste t de Student para amostras pareadas indicou aumento no CF (16,2%; p = 0,012) e redução no AF (15,5%; p = 0,003) nas comparações pré vs. após alongamento na posição com o joelho estendido. Também houve aumento significativo do CF (34%; p = 0,0001) e redução do AF (25%; p = 0,0007) na comparação entre as posições de joelho estendido vs. flexionado. Não foram encontradas diferenças significativas nas variáveis da arquitetura muscular investigadas na posição com o joelho flexionado. Os resultados apontaram para correlação alta e moderada do CF e AF com joelho estendido (r = -0,89 e r = -0,74) e joelho flexionado (r = -0,76 e r = -0,78), pré e após alongamento, respectivamente. Concluiu-se que o alongamento estático afeta de forma aguda a arquitetura muscular do vasto lateral apenas na posição de joelho estendido, mas não na posição com joelho flexionado.

Abstract The aim of the study was to investigate the acute effects of passive static stretching (PSS) on the fascicle length (FL) and fascicle angle (FA) of the vastus lateralis muscle (VL) in two different joint positions. Twelve physically active men (26.9 ± 7.5 years, 178.6 ± 7.0 cm, and 82.5 ± 16.8 kg) were placed in the prone position for the acquisition of ultrasound images (US) of VL, registered with extended and totally flexed knee up to the heel contact with the gluteus, before and after a PSS routine comprised of three 30-s repetitions maintained in the maximal discomfort position as reported by the participant. Results of the paired t-test indicated an increase in FL (16.2%; p = 0.012) and reduction in FA (15.5%; p = 0.003) in pre vs. post stretching comparisons for the extended knee position. There was also a significant increase in FL (34%; p = 0.0001) and reduction in FA (25%; p = 0.0007) when compared the extended knee vs. flexed knee positions. There were no significant differences in muscle architecture variables for the flexed knee position. The results showed high and moderate correlation of FL and FA for the extended (r = -0.89 and r = -0.74) and flexed knee (r = -0.76 and r = -0.78) position, pre and post stretching, respectively. It was concluded that the static stretching acutely affects the vastus lateralis muscle architecture only in the extended knee position, but not in the flexed knee position.

RESUMO Ainda não há consenso sobre a utilização de alongamentos antes de exercícios de força em séries sucessivas. Sendo assim, o objetivo foi verificar o efeito agudo de dois métodos de alongamento sobre o desempenho da força no exercício supino reto. Indivíduos treinados realizaram 3 séries de 8 a 10-RM no supino reto imediatamente após o alongamento estático (AE), Facilitação Neuromuscular Proprioceptiva (FNP) ou condição controle. Foi encontrada queda significativa das repetições na segunda e terceira séries em comparação à primeira em todas as condições. Não houve diferença significativa no número de repetições ou no volume total entre as condições com e sem alongamento. O AE e a FNP não causaram impacto negativo no desempenho da força, podendo, assim, serem utilizados previamente a esse exercício.

ABSTRACT There is still no consensus about the use of stretching before strength exercises in successive series. Thus, the aim was to verify the acute effect of two stretching methods on the strength performance in the bench press exercise. Trained subjects performed 3 sets of 8 to10-RM in the bench press immediately after the static stretching (SS), Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) or control condition. There was a significant decrease in repetitions in the second and third series compared to the first for all conditions. There was no significant difference in the number of repetitions or total volume between the conditions with and without stretching. The SS and PNF induced no negative effect on strength performance and can be used prior to this exercise

O objetivo foi determinar os efeitos agudos do alongamento estático (AL) sobre os níveis de amplitude de movimento (ADM) da cintura escapular e sobre 10 repetições máximas (10-RM) no supino reto em dois ângulos articulares. Onze homens (28.32 ± 5.4 anos; 1.73 ± 0.1 m; 72.14 ± 15.3 kg) foram submetidos aleatoriamente à condição controle (CC) e experimental (2 séries de 30 s de AL passivos para o peitoral e tríceps). A ADM da cintura escapular no movimento de abdução horizontal do ombro foi analisada através da fotogrametria usando ferramenta de dimensão angular do CorelDRAW®. Os testes de 10-RM foram feitos no supino reto com barra livre com randomização para amplitude total e limitada a 90° de flexão do cotovelo. A confiabilidade da ADM da cintura escapular e das 10-RM nas duas amplitudes diferentes foi alta (R> 0.95). A ANOVA de duas entradas com medidas repetidas nos dois fatores com post-hoc de Bonferroni indicou uma interação significativa, com aumento da ADM (p= 0.029) após AL. Não foi encontrada diferença significativa para 10-RM e volume total em nenhuma das angulações e condições testadas. Conclui-se que volumes reduzidos de AL aumentaram significativamente a ADM sem promover prejuízo no desempenho da força dinâmica realizada em diferentes ângulos articulares.

The objective of the study was to determine the acute effects of static stretching (SS) on the range of motion (ROM) levels of the shoulder girdle and on 10 repetition maximum (10-RM) on the bench press exercise in two joint angles. Eleven male subjects (28.32 ± 5.4 years; 1.73 ± 0.1 m; 72.1 ± 15.3 kg) were randomly assigned to a control (CC - no stretching) and experimental (two sets of 30 s of passive static stretching for the chest and the triceps) conditions. The shoulder girdle ROM during horizontal abduction of the shoulder was analyzed measure with photogrammetry and analyzed using an angular dimension tool from CorelDRAW®. The 10-RM was performed in a free bar bench press in two different joint angles (total range of motion or 90° of elbow flexion). The reliability of shoulder girdle ROM and 10-RM at 90° and total range were high (R> 0.95). A two-way ANOVA with repeated measures for both factors with post-hoc Bonferroni test showed a significant interaction with increase in ROM (p 0.029) after SS. No significant differences were found for the others variables. It was concluded that a reduced static stretching routine was able to increase acute ROM levels without impairing dynamic strength performance at different joint angles.

RESUMOO objetivo foi observar o efeito de duas rotinas de alongamento estático com mesmo volume, sobre amplitude de movimento (ADM) de flexão (FJ) e extensão de joelho (EJ) e sobre a altura do salto com contramovimento. Dez voluntários do sexo masculino foram submetidos aleatoriamente às rotinas de alongamento fracionado (AL-10), com 3 séries de 10 s, alongamento contínuo (AL-30), com uma única série de 30 s e à uma condição controle (CC). A altura do salto foi obtida imediatamente após as intervenções através de um tapete de contato. A ADM foi medida através da fotogrametria pré e após intervenção. Uma ANOVA de medidas repetidas seguida pelo teste post hoc de Bonferroni identificou um aumento significativo na ADM na FJ (P=0,004) e EJ (P=0,001) após AL-30 e aumento significativo na altura do salto após AL-10 comparados à CC (P=0,005). Conclui-se que uma rotina contínua de 30 s de alongamento estático aumentam a ADM sem prejuízo no desempenho, enquanto rotinas fracionadas, com 3 séries de 10 s não alteram a ADM, entretanto melhoram a altura do salto.

ABSTRACTThe aim of the study was to observe the effects of two stretching routines, with the same total volume, on countermovement jump height (JH) and range of motion (ROM) of knee flexion (KF) and extension (KE). Ten subjects were randomly assigned to either a fractionated stretching (ST-10) with 3 sets of 10 s, or continuous routine (ST-30), with a single 30 s set, and a non-experimental control condition (CC). The JH was obtained immediately after interventions using a contact matt. ROM was measured by photogrammetry pre and post intervention. A repeated measures ANOVA followed by Bonferroni's post hoc test showed a significant increase in KF (P=0.004) and KE (P=0.001) ROM post ST-30 and a significant JH increase after ST-10 compared to CC (P=0.005). It was concluded that continuous static stretching routines may increase ROM without altering JH, while the fractionated routine with the same volume, may not alter ROM although improving JH.

O objetivo foi verificar o efeito agudo de 2x30s de alongamento estático na musculatura posterior de membros inferiores sobre a amplitude de movimento (ADM) e altura do salto com contra movimento. Doze voluntários foram submetidos aleatoriamente às condições de alongamento e controle em ocasiões diferentes. A altura do salto foi obtida por meio de um tapete de contato, imediatamente após 3, 6 e 9 min depois de cada condição. A ADM foi medida pelo método de fotogrametria realizada antes, imediatamente e 9 min após cada condição. A ANOVA a dois caminhos com medidas repetidas não encontrou diferença significativa na altura do salto em qualquer dos momentos testados. Entretanto, o teste post hoc de Bonferroni mostrou aumento significativo na ADM apenas imediatamente após a realização do alongamento. Concluiu-se que rotinas reduzidas de alongamento estático não interferem no desempenho do salto, além de aumentarem significativamente de forma aguda a ADM.

The purpose of the study was to observe the acute effect of static stretching of lower limbs muscles on the range of motion (ROM) and on the countermovement jump performance. Twelve adult males were randomly subjected to a stretching and a non-stretching condition on separate occasions. Jump height was determined using an electronic contact mat after jumps performed immediately post and 3, 6 and 9 min after either stretching or control conditions. The ROM was determined by digital photogrammetry method at pre, immediately post and 9 min after different conditions. A two-way ANOVA with repeated measures evidenced no significant differences in jump height for all time measurements. Nevertheless, Bonferroni post-hoc test showed a significant increase in ROM only immediately after the stretching routine. It was concluded that a short volume of static stretching does not impair the jump performance, although it has a sufficient magnitude to significantly improve the ROM in an acute form.

Apesar de existirem diversos métodos para a determinação da amplitude de movimento (ADM), a baixa confiabilidade, a pouca sensibilidade, a subjetividade ou a ausência de valores do erro típico da medida (ETM) de alguns desses métodos comprometem a interpretação adequada dos resultados. O objetivo deste estudo foi determinar a confiabilidade intra-avaliador da medida e do método de fotogrametria para a ADM de extensão ativa e flexão passiva do joelho (FPJ), realizada no mesmo dia (consistência interna) e em dias diferentes (estabilidade). Participaram 18 sujeitos do sexo masculino (24,5±3,7 anos, 79,3±10,1 kg e 174,8±4,2 cm). Após a marcação dos pontos anatômicos de referência, a angulação dos movimentos foi registrada em fotografia, por meio da ferramenta de dimensão angular no software CorelDRAW®. A confiabilidade da medida e do instrumento foi estabelecida pelo coeficiente de correlação intraclasse (CCI) e pelo cálculo do ETM. A distribuição dos erros dos dados foi verificada pela representação gráfica de Bland e Altman. O método apresentou confiabilidade perfeita (ETM=0,01 e CCI=1,0) para ambos os movimentos. Para a confiabilidade da medida, foram encontrados os valores 0,97 e 0,93 para consistência interna e 0,96 e 0,83 para estabilidade (ETM=2,9 e 4,0%; p<0,001) na extensão e flexão do joelho, respectivamente. O método mostrou excelente confiabilidade e baixo erro na determinação da ADM de extensão e flexão do joelho, sendo assim, adequado para a aplicação em dimensão clínica e de pesquisa.

Although there are several methods for determining the range of motion (ROM), low reliability, low sensitivity, subjectivity or lack of information related to the typical error of measurement (TEM) may compromise interpretation of testing results. The aim of this study was to test the intra-rater reliability of the ROM measurement and the photogrammetry method for same day (internal consistency) and between days (stability) for knee active extension and passive flexion. Eighteen active male volunteers (24.5±3.7 years, 79.3±10.1 kg and 174.8±4.2 cm) were selected to participate in the study. After identification of anatomical landmarks used for reference, knee passive flexion and active extension were recorded by photography and then analyzed using an angular dimension tool from CorelDRAW®. The reliability of the measurement and the instrument was determined using intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) and TEM. Data distribution was observed using the graphical representation of Bland e Altman. The method showed a perfect reliability (TEM=0.01 and ICC=1.0) for both extension and flexion movements. The measurement showed high reliability 0.97 and 0.93 (internal consistency) and 0.96 and 0.83 (stability) (TEM=2.9 and 4.0%, p<0.001) for knee extension and flexion, respectively. The method showed to be very reliable with a low typical error of the measurement knee extension and flexion ROM, showing to be adequate for application in both, clinical and research settings.

A força e a flexibilidade são componentes presentes em um programa de treinamento, e seus valores máximos são obtidos através de testes específicos. No entanto pouco se sabe sobre seus efeitos deletérios no aparelho músculo tendíneo. Objetivo: verificar as modificações séricas de CK 24 h após uma rotina de alongamentos, flexionamento estático e teste de 1-RM. Métodos: participaram do estudo 14 indivíduos de ambos os sexos (28 ± 6 anos), divididos em grupo controle (GC N = 7) e grupo experimental (GE N = 7), sendo o último submetido a uma rotina de alongamentos (GE-AL), de flexionamento estático (GE-FLEX) e ao teste de 1-RM (GE-1-RM). A antropometria foi aferida através de uma balança digital com estadiômetro. As coletas de sangue foram obtidas utilizando-se seringas descartáveis e depositadas em recipientes de vidro vedados e enviadas ao laboratório para deteminar os níveis de CK. Utilizou-se a técnica de De Lorme e Watkins nos exercícios Supino Horizontal e Leg Press para determinar a carga de 1-RM. Realizou-se 3 séries de 20 s de insistência flexionamento e 3 séries de 6 segundos de insistência para o alongamento. E estatística empregada foi a Prova de Friedman com post hoc de Tukey. Resultados: Os valores de CK basal e pós 24 h no GC e GE (AL; FLEX e 1-RM) foram respectivamente: 195,0 ± 129,5 vs. 202,1 ± 124,2; 213,3 ± 133,2 vs. 174,7 ± 115,8; 213,3 ± 133,2 vs. 226,6 ± 126,7 e 213,3 ± 133,2 vs. 275,9 ± 157,2. Só foi observada diferença significativa (a = 0,02) nos valores do GE-1RM. Conclusão: Conclui-se que apenas os exercícios dinâmicos de força máxima foram capazes de aumentar os níveis de CK pós exercício.

Strength and flexibility are common components of a training program and their maximal values are obtained through specific tests. However, little information about the damage effect of these training procedures in a skeletal muscle is known. Objective: To verify a serum CK changes 24 h after a sub maximal stretching routine and after the static flexibility and maximal strength tests. Methods: the sample was composed by 14 subjects (man and women, 28 ± 6 yr.) physical education students. The volunteers were divided in a control group (CG) and experimental group (EG) that was submitted in a stretching routine (EG-ST), in a maximal flexibility static test (EG-FLEX) and in 1-RM test (EG-1-RM), with one week interval among tests. The anthropometrics characteristics were obtained by digital scale with stadiometer (Filizola, São Paulo, Brasil, 2002). The blood samples were obtained using the IFCC method with reference values 26-155 U/L. The De Lorme and Watkins technique was used to access maximal maximal strength through bench press and leg press. The maximal flexibility test consisted in three 20 seconds sets until the point of maximal discomfort. The stretching was done in normal movement amplitude during 6 secons. Results: The basal and post 24 h CK values in CG and EG (ST; Flex and 1 RM) were respectively 195,0 ± 129,5 vs. 202,1 ± 124,2; 213,3 ± 133,2 vs. 174,7 ± 115,8; 213,3 ± 133,2 vs. 226,6 ± 126,7 e 213,3 ± 133,2 vs. 275,9 ± 157,2. It was only observed a significant difference (a = 0,02) in the pre and post values inGE-1RM. Conclusion: only maximal strength dynamic exercise was capable to cause skeletal muscle damage.
