Abstract Spondias mombin L. (Anacardiaceae) is an arboreal and allogamous fruit tree native from southern Mexico to southeastern Brazil, with great potential for economic exploitation. This study aimed to evaluate the structure and genomic diversity of yellow mombin accessions collected in nine locations in Brazil using Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNP) markers. Significant genetic structure was observed in the discriminant analysis of principal components (DAPC) and dendrogram construction, in accordance with our hypotheses. The Mantel test identified a highly positive and significant correlation between geographic and genetic distances. The locations from the Amazon biome presented higher genetic diversity values when compared to those from the Atlantic Forest and Cerrado, which is expected considering the higher vulnerability of these biomes. However, although presenting greater genetic diversity, the Amazon biome showed positive inbreeding coefficients (F IS ) in three of the four locations, ranging from 0.0855 to 0.2421, indicating a potential risk of genetic erosion, possibly related to the increased degradation of this biome in recent decades. The results obtained contribute to the understanding of the distribution of genetic variation and conservation status of yellow mombin in Brazil. They could also be used as a subsidy for developing conservation strategies and the genetic improvement of this species. Resumo Objetivos: determinar a prevalência da interrupção do aleitamento materno e os fatores associados em menores de dois anos residentes em Pernambuco. Métodos: estudo transversal utilizando dados da IV Pesquisa Estadual de Saúde e Nutrição, inquérito de base domiciliar, realizada em 2015/2016. As informações foram obtidas através de formulários padronizados aplicados com as mães e/ou responsáveis pelas crianças. Em uma subamostra de 358 menores de dois anos. Resultados: a prevalência da interrupção do aleitamento materno exclusivo (AME) foi 76,2% e do aleitamento materno 61,7%. Na análise de regressão multivariada permaneceram associados a interrupção do AME: faixa etária de três a seis meses (RP = 1,10; IC95% = 1,01-1,21) e o uso atual ou pregresso de chupeta (RP = 1,18; IC95% = 1,07-1,30). Abstract Objectives: to determine the prevalence of breastfeeding interruption and associated factors in children under two years old living in Pernambuco. Methods: cross-sectional study using data from the IV Pesquisa Estadual de Saúde e Nutrição (IV State Health and Nutrition Survey), a household-based survey, carried out in 2015/2016. The information was obtained through standardized forms applied to the children’s mothers and/or guardians. In a subsample of 358 children under two years old. Results: the prevalence of exclusive breastfeeding (EBF) interruption was 76.2% and of breastfeeding 61.7%. In the multivariate regression analysis, the following remained associated with EBF interruption: age range from three to six months (RP= 1.10; CI95%=1.01-1.21) and current or previous use of a pacifier (RP = 1.18; CI95%= 1.07-1.30). Trata-se de um estudo transversal realizado em 1.008 domicílios particulares. Para a investigação, utilizou-se a Escala Brasileira de Insegurança Alimentar (EBIA) e foram analisadas associações com variáveis socioeconômicas, demográficas e práticas relacionadas à alimentação. Calculou-se razão de prevalência e ajuste por meio da regressão de Poisson, sendo estatisticamente significantes aquelas associações cujo p≤0,05. Encontrou-se prevalência de 68,4% de insegurança alimentar. Prevalence ratio and adjustment were calculated using Poisson regression, and associations where p ≤ 0.05 were statistically significant. Food insecurity prevalence was 68.4%. Variables associated with insecurity were: education of the head of the family; per capita income; participation in the Bolsa Família Program; number of residents; occupation of the household; social class; practices and opinions about family eating habits. The greatest insecurity risk was found in those with the worst economic conditions, in beneficiaries of the Bolsa Família Program and in those who considered the lack of ultra-processed products to improve the family’s diet. Food insecurity was linked to conditions of social vulnerability and to those who did not perceive that they had a good diet. Most of the subjects reported using resources of the Bolsa Família program to purchase food, which reinforces the importance of this strategy in promoting access to food.

Resumo Introdução A síndrome metabólica (SM) é o agrupamento de fatores de risco associados à adiposidade central e à resistência à insulina. Objetivo O objetivo desta pesquisa foi analisar a prevalência da SM e os fatores associados em idosos de uma comunidade do município de Recife, Pernambuco. Método Estudo transversal com 166 idosos de ambos os sexos com idade igual ou superior a 60 anos, residentes na Comunidade dos Coelhos, no município de Recife. Para o diagnóstico da SM, foi utilizado o critério do NCEP-ATPIII. A análise dos dados foi efetuada com a utilização do programa estatístico SPSS para Windows, versão 13.1. Na comparação entre proporções, foram utilizados o teste de qui-quadrado de Pearson e o teste exato de Fischer. A razão de prevalência foi utilizada como medida de efeito considerando a SM como variável dependente. Resultados A prevalência de SM encontrada foi de 38,3%. Os fatores associados à SM após ajustes foram: a idade, na faixa etária 60-69 anos (44,4%, p = 0,047), o sexo feminino (43,1%, p = 0,056) e o excesso de peso (57,3%, p < 0,001). Conclusão A SM apresentou uma alta prevalência na população idosa avaliada, sendo associada às características demográficas e ao estado nutricional.

Method A cross-sectional study was carried out with 166 older adults of both sexes aged ≥60 years residing in the Coelhos Community in Recife. MS was diagnosed through the NCEP/ATP III criteria. Data analysis was performed using the SPSS 13.1 statistical software. The Pearson's chi-squared test and the Fisher's exact test were used to compare the proportions. Prevalence ratio was used as an effect measure considering MS as dependent variable. Results Prevalence of MS was 38.3%. The factors associated with MS after adjustments were being 60-69 years old (44.4%, p=0.047), female (43.1%, p=0.056), and overweight (57.3%, p<0.001). Conclusion High prevalence of MS was observed in the older population evaluated, being associated with demographic characteristics and nutritional status. The group of older adults assessed should be provided with nutritional education and motivation to the practice of physical activities.

RESUMO Objetivo Conhecer a produção científica sobre estratégias adotadas para a manutenção hemodinâmica de pacientes com morte encefálica. Métodos Revisão integrativa com artigos publicados entre 2007 e 2019, nas bases Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS), PubMed®e ScienceDirect . Utilizaram-se os termos “Hemodinâmica AND Morte Encefálica” e “Hemodynamics AND Brain Death .” Os critérios de exclusão foram pesquisas não realizadas com seres humanos e literatura cinzenta. Resultados Listaram-se 21 artigos. Como estratégias, destacaram-se uso de medicamentos – noradrenalina (n=8), vasopressina (n=7), dobutamina (n=6), hidrocortisona (n=4) e metilprednisolona (n=4); monitorização cardíaca invasiva (n=10) e não invasiva (n=13); controle dos parâmetros ventilatórios (n=12); e correção de distúrbios hidroeletrolíticos (n=17). Conclusão As principais estratégias encontradas nesta revisão integrativa foram regulação da pressão arterial e temperatura, uso de catecolaminas e corticosteroides, além da necessidade de um diagnóstico precoce de morte encefálica. Entretanto, é notória a escassez de protocolos mais esclarecidos sobre a temática, dificultando o manejo com o potencial doador.

ABSTRACT Objective To learn about the scientific production on strategies adopted for hemodynamic maintenance of brain-dead patients. Methods Integrative review with articles published between 2007 and 2019, in Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature (LILACS), PubMed® and ScienceDirect. The descriptors “ Hemodinâmica AND Morte Encefálica ” and “Hemodynamics AND Brain Death” were used. Exclusion criteria were non-human research and gray literature. Results A total of 21 articles were listed. As strategies, the use of drugs – noradrenaline (n=8), vasopressin (n=7), dobutamine (n=6), hydrocortisone (n=4) and methylprednisolone (n=4); invasive (n=10) and noninvasive (n=13) cardiac monitoring; control of ventilatory parameters (n=12); and correction of fluid and electrolyte disturbances (n=17) were highlighted. Conclusion The main strategies found in this integrative review were regulation of blood pressure and temperature, use of catecholamines and corticosteroids, in addition to the need for an early diagnosis of brain death. However, the lack of clearer protocols on the subject is notorious, making management with the potential donor difficult.
