RESUMO Foi estimada a recarga potencial do aquífero (Rpot) promovida por um poço de infiltração que recebe, armazena temporariamente e infiltra o escoamento superficial direto de uma área de contribuição (180.5 m2) constituída de telhado e piso cimentado. Para servirem de comparação, a Rpot, também, é considerada nios casos em que o escoamento superficial direto é direcionado para um sistema convencional de drenagem água pluvial e acontece em uma área de contribuição semelhante, mas com cobertura gramada,. A metodologia envolveu o uso da equação de balanço hídrico, monitoramento da precipitação e do conteúdo de água no solo até 1.92 m de profundidade, estimativa do transbordamento do poços de infiltração usando o modelo Puls modificado e determinação da evapotranspiração real usando o coeficiente de estresse hídrico nos anos de 2017 e 2018. A Rpot considerando o poço de infiltração foi de 83.3% do volume precipitado, 2.22 vezes maior que o da área coberta por grama (37.6%), justificado pelo aumento da área para evapotranspiração neste ultimo caso. Por sua vez, o sistema tradicional de drenagem urbana não demonstrou potencial de recarga de água subterrânea. Portanto, o poço de infiltração contribui significativamente para a recarga do aquífero, além de servir como controle local de inundações.

ABSTRACT We estimated the potential groundwater recharge (Rpot) of a drywell that receives, temporarily stores, and infiltrates direct surface runoff from a contribution area (180.5 m2) comprising a roof and a cemented floor. The Rpot for traditional rainwater management and for similar contribution area but covered with grass was also estimated for comparison. Our methodology involved the use of water budget equation, monitoring of rainfall and soil water content up to 1.92 m depth, estimation of drywell overflow using the modified Puls model, and determination of actual evapotranspiration using water stress coefficient in 2017 and 2018. Results revealed that the Rpot for drywell was 83.3% of the precipitated volume, 2.22 times higher than that of the grass-covered area (37.6%) given the increased area for evapotranspiration in the latter. In turn, the traditional urban drainage system did not demonstrate potential of groundwater recharge. Therefore, the drywell contributes significantly to groundwater recharge apart from serving as local flood control.

RESUMO O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar uma nova concepção de poço de infiltração como técnica de controle de drenagem pluvial na fonte. Esse poço, denominado P-GHidro, possui furos na parede dos anéis de concreto, camada de brita externa aos anéis para melhorar a distribuição de água, pré-filtro de geotêxtil na tampa e filtros adicionais no fundo e na lateral, entre a brita e o solo. Usou-se como referência o poço de infiltração comumente empregado em São Carlos, São Paulo (P-SC), cuja construção foi realizada com anéis de concreto justapostos ao solo sem furos laterais e sem pré-filtro. Foram realizados seis ensaios de chuvas simuladas para cada poço de infiltração. Os dados experimentais de vazão de água infiltrada foram modelados pelo método de Puls. A condutividade hidráulica, constante ou variada, foi empregada como parâmetro de calibração do modelo aos dados experimentais; o ajuste foi avaliado por meio dos coeficientes de determinação (R2) e de Nash-Sutcliffe (NS). O P-GHidro apresentou melhor desempenho na infiltração de água pluvial, com volume armazenado 25% menor e tempos de esvaziamento 4% menores que os do P-SC. A modelagem apresentou boa representatividade dos dados experimentais para condutividade hidráulica constante (média de R2 de 0,92 e de NS de 0,56) e melhor ainda para condutividade hidráulica variada (média de R2 de 0,97 e de NS de 0,97).

ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to evaluate a new concept of infiltration well as in loco stormwater drainage source control. This infiltration well, namely P-GHidro, has holes in the wall of the concrete rings, layer of gravel external to the rings in order to improve the water distribution, a geotextile prefilter on the cover, and additional filters on the bottom and on the sides between the gravel and the soil. An infiltration well common in San Carlos (P-SC), São Paulo, Brazil, was used as reference, and its construction uses concrete rings juxtaposed to the soil without side holes or prefilter. Six tests of simulated rain were performed for each design infiltration well. The experimental data of infiltrated water flow were modeled by Puls method. The hydraulic conductivity, constant or variable, was used as a model adjustment parameter to the experimental data, and the adjustment was assessed using the coefficients of determination (R2) and Nash-Sutcliffe (NS). P-GHidro had a better performance in the stormwater infiltration, with stored volume and emptying times smaller than the P-SC. The modeling showed good adjustments to the experimental data for constant hydraulic conductivity (average R2 = 0.92 and NS = 0.56) and even better adjustments for variable hydraulic conductivity (average R2 = 0.97 and NS = 0.97).

RESUMO Neste trabalho, buscou-se avaliar o desempenho de canal gramado na remoção de material suspenso presente em escoamento superficial em unidade construída em escala real. Para tal, foram investigadas diferentes concentrações iniciais de material particulado, o qual foi descarregado por meio de chuvas simuladas em canal de 100 m de extensão e declividade de 2%. As medidas de material particulado foram feitas mediante a análise de sólidos suspensos totais (SST) em diferentes posições ao longo do canal. Os hidrogramas de descarregamento e as lâminas de água no canal foram monitorados durante a passagem da onda de cheia. Avaliaram-se as frações removidas para cada evento isolado e também em conjunto, por intermédio da interpolação por krigagem. Remoções da ordem de 50% foram obtidas para a posição de 50 m do canal gramado e de 70% para a posição de 80 m. Os resultados mostraram que a remoção de material particulado é fortemente dependente da extensão do canal e que os aspectos dinâmicos decorrentes da passagem da onda de cheia influenciam no processo.

ABSTRACT In this study, the performance of a natural channel in removing particulate matter from runoff was evaluate. For this purpose, different initial concentrations of particles, which were discharged by means of simulated 100 m in length and slope of 2% channel rains, were investigated. The measurements of particulate matter were made by means of total suspended solids (TSS) at different positions along the channel. Hydrograph and water levels in the canal during the passage of the flood wave were monitored. The removed fractions for each one of the isolated essays and also in a combined way were evaluated, by applying kriging interpolation. Removals around 50% were obtained for the channel position of 50 m and 70% for channel position of 80 m. The results indicated that the removal of particulate material is strongly dependent on the extension of the channel and the dynamic aspects arising from the passage of the flood wave influence in the process.

RESUMO Neste trabalho buscou-se avaliar o efeito do hidrograma e da concentração afluentes na remoção de material particulado em canal gramado construído em escala real. Para tal, foram investigados três hidrogramas de entrada e concentrações iniciais (Co) de material particulado: 65; 130; 195; 263, 327 e 400 mg/L, os quais foram descarregados em canal gramado de 100 m de extensão e declividade de 2%. O pico dos hidrogramas investigados foi da ordem de 11±2 L/s; e o tempo de base (tB), determinado no ponto de descarregamento no canal, variou entre 15, 25 e 35 minutos. O tempo de trânsito no canal (tT) foi da ordem de 10,5±2,5 minutos, o que corresponde à velocidade de 0,14±0,02 m/s. Para tB de 15 minutos, a média das máximas eficiências foi da ordem de 64±3%, para posição de 31±26 m. Para tB de 25 minutos, a média das máximas foi da ordem de 73±3%, para posições de 59±24 m. Finalmente, para tB de 35 minutos, a média das máximas eficiências obtidas foi da ordem de 65±3%, nas posições de 73±15 m. Verificou-se que 70% dos valores da constante de decaimento (k d) estão entre 0,005 e 0,015 s-1, e, ao desconsiderar o hidrograma representado por tB de 15 minutos, 90% dos dados estão no intervalo 0,005 ≤ k d ≤ 0,015 s-1. Além disso, foi identificada relação direta e proporcional entre a concentração final (C*) e as concentrações iniciais (Co).

ABSTRACT The present work investigated the effect of hydrograph and inlet concentration on the removal of particle matter on a constructed real scale grassy channel. For this, three input hydrographs and initial concentration (Co) of particulate matter were investigated, as following: 65; 130; 195; 263, 327 and 400 mg/L, which were discharged in a grassy channel with 100 m length and a 2% slope. The peak of the hydrographs investigated was around 11±2 L/s; and the time base (tB), determined in the unloading point on the channel, ranged between 15, 25 and 35 minutes. The transit time in the channel (tT) was about 10.5±2.5 minutes, corresponding to a speed of 0.14±0.02 m/s. For 15 minutes tB, the average of maximum efficiencies was around 64±3% for the position 31±26 m. For 25 minutes tB, it was around 73±3% for 59±24 m. Finally, for 35 minutes tB the average of maximum efficiencies was about 65±3% for 73±15 m. It was verified that 70% of the values of the decay constant (k d) are between 0.005 and 0.015 s-1; and, when the tB of 15 minutes is not considered, 90% of the data is in the range of 0.005≤ k d ≤0.015 s-1. Also, a direct and proportional behavior of the final concentration (C*) and the initial concentration (Co) was identified.

RESUMO Neste trabalho buscou-se avaliar e modelar matematicamente, por meio de modelo fenomenológico, a remoção de material particulado em canal gramado construído em escala real. Para tal, foram investigadas diferentes concentrações iniciais (Co) de material particulado: 65; 131; 196; 262 e 327 mg/L, os quais foram descarregados por meio de hidrogramas simulados em canal de 100 m de extensão e declividade de 2%. As medidas de material particulado foram feitas por meio da turbidez e da análise de sólidos suspensos totais (SST), em 26 posições ao longo do comprimento do canal. Os dados experimentais foram ajustados ao modelo por meio de regressão não linear dos parâmetros (kd) e (C*), os quais correspondem a constante cinética de decaimento e ao valor mínimo assintótico a curva de remoção, respectivamente. As frações removidas e o ajuste matemático foram avaliados e realizadas para cada evento isolado e também para o conjunto de resultados. Em termos médios, o módulo do erro relativo variou entre 0,83% e 5,11%, sendo o maior valor médio obtido para a menor concentração de material particulado investigado (65 mg.L-1). Em relação aos valores obtidos para as constantes de decaimento (kd), as quais representam a frequência de remoção de material particulado, verifica-se que a mesma tende a um valor mínimo para as maiores concentrações iniciais de material particulado (Co). Tal fato indica que, quanto maior a concentração inicial de material particulado (Co), maior a extensão de percurso requerida para sua remoção, com limite máximo observado em torno de 80 m, para concentrações acima de 196 mg.L-1.

ABSTRACT A mathematical model was applied to describe the removal of particulate matter in a real-scale lawn-lined channel. For this purpose different initial concentrations (Co) of particulate matter were investigated, as follows: 65; 131; 196 ; 262 and 327 mg/L. The hydrographs investigated, containing suspended solids, were discharged into a 100 m long channel with a 2% slope. The particulate matter was measured by analyzing turbidity and total suspended solids (TSS) at 26 sites throughout the length of the channel. The experimental data were fitted to the model using nonlinear regression parameters (kd) and (C *), which correspond to the decay kinetics constant and minimum limiting values of the removal curve, respectively. Fractions removed and mathematical fitting were assessed and performed for each isolated event and also for the set of results. On average, the magnitude of the relative error ranged from 0.83% to 5.11%, with the highest average value obtained for the lowest concentration of particulate matter (65 mg L -1). Regarding the values obtained for the decay constants (kd), which represent the frequency of removal of particulate matter, it is noted that it tends to a minimum value for the higher initial concentrations of particles (Co) . This fact indicates that the higher the initial concentration of particulate matter (Co), the greater the extent of travel required for its removal, with a maximum observed at around 80 m, for concentrations above 196 mg.L -1 .

Este trabalho avaliou aspectos da construção e operação de técnicas compensatórias em drenagem urbana e seu efeito na taxa de infiltração das unidades em escala real. Para tal, foram estudados dois sistemas, a saber: i) filtro-vala-trincheira de infiltração (FVT) e ii) poço de infiltração (PI). A infiltração do solo foi avaliada por meio de ensaios de campo (ensaios de duplo anel e poço invertido) e por medidas das unidades experimentais. Além disso, foram investigados o teor de material pulverulento e a permeabilidade de amostras do geotêxtil utilizado no FVT e PI, nas condições pré e pós-instalação. A despeito das proteções instaladas, houve transporte de finos para o interior das unidades e que esses influenciaram na permeabilidade da manta geotêxtil (redução de 30 a 90% para o FVT e de 40 a 70% para o PI) e nas taxas de infiltração nas unidades em escala real (de 4,7 x 10-6 a 10-5 m.s-1).

This work aimed to evaluate some aspects of construction and operation of full-scale best management practices and their effects on infiltration loading rate. Two systems were studied: i) filter-swale-trench (FST) and ii) infiltration well (IW). In these units, field essays and full-scale measurements were made in order to assess the soil permeability. Further, the fine particles transportation and the geotextile blanket permeability were determined before and after operation. The results pointed out that there were soil transportation to inside the FST and IW systems, despite of the installed protections, and that these material were responsible for diminishing the geotextile (reduction from 30 to 90% for FST and 40 to 70% for IW) and the full-scale infiltration loading rates (varying from 4,7 x 10-6 to 10-5 m.s-1).

Neste estudo foram investigados os seguintes aspectos relativos à avaliação de um poço de infiltração construído em escala real: i) tampa/filtro de entrada; ii) permeabilidade do geotêxtil interno ao poço; e iii) tempos de esvaziamento. O poço de infiltração com volume de 3,6 m³ drena área de 241,8 m². A tampa/filtro foi composta de camadas de areia, brita e geotêxtil dispostos sobre a estrutura metálica. Os anéis de concreto que compõem a estrutura lateral do poço foram revestidos com manta geotêxtil intercalada com blocos cerâmicos. O poço permaneceu em constante operação, entretanto foram simulados eventos específicos para o tempo de esvaziamento. Realizaram-se ensaios da permeabilidade de amostras de geotêxtil, do teor de materiais pulverulentos dos agregados ao poço, ou seja, a brita e a areia que compõem a tampa/filtro. O geotêxtil apresentou redução média da permeabilidade de 50,7%, 7,7% e 21,2% nas amostras do fundo, paredes e tampa do poço respectivamente. A areia do filtro da tampa reteve 34,8% de finos, enquanto a brita reteve 0,13% de finos no mesmo período. A capacidade hidráulica média do poço foi 34,7 mm/h. O coeficiente de determinação para os tempos de esvaziamento calculados e medidos foi de 0,97.

This study investigated the following aspects regarding a soakaway, i.e. an infiltration well: i) entrance filter device; ii) permeability of the geotextile; and iii) emptying time. The 3.6 m³ infiltration well drains a roof area of 241.8 m². The entrance device is made up of layers of sand, gravel and geotextile set on a metal structure. The concrete rings that form the lateral walls were covered with geotextile, and bricks were laid between the soil and concrete rings. The infiltration well remained in operation during the entire testing period, and specific events were simulated to measure the emptying time. Permeability and fine particle tests were carried out after eight months of operation. Samples of geotextile taken from the bottom, the walls and the entrance device presented average permeability reductions of approximately 50.7%, 7.7% and 21.2%, respectively. The sand in the entrance device retained around 34.8% of fine particles and the gravel retained 0.13% in the same period. The infiltration rate was approximately 34.7 mm/h. The R2 coefficient for measured and calculated times was 0.97.

Neste estudo realizou-se a caracterização do uso e ocupação do solo na cidade de Ribeirão Preto (SP), além da análise detalhada da impermeabilização urbana e conectividade hidráulica dos lotes. Também foi avaliado o coeficiente de escoamento superficial (C) para seis sub-bacias, utilizando-se três métodos com diferentes níveis de precisão. Utilizando-se o Método Racional com os valores estimados de C, calcularam-se os picos de vazão para as sub-bacias. Identificou-se que a impermeabilização cresce com a redução da área do lote. As estimativas de C resultam em diferenças importantes em seus valores, refletindo na previsão da vazão. A utilização de tabelas com C detalhado e no seu limite superior se aproxima dos valores estimados por C AIDC. Recomenda-se estimar C AIDC a partir da área do lote ou pesquisa de campo.

This paper presents a study of characterization of land occupation and its use in the city of Ribeirão Preto (São Paulo), as well as a detailed analysis of the urban imperviousness and hydraulic connectivity of the plots. The runoff coefficient (C) for siz sub-basins was evaluated on the basis of three different definitions. The peaks of outflow for the sub-basins were calculated using the Rational Method with the estimated values of C. It was identified that the imperviousness increases as the area of the plot decreases. The estimative of the C show important differences in its values, influencing the outflow. The use of tables with detailed and maximal C values beyond its superior limitation is equivalent to the values estimated with C DCIA. It is recommended that the C DCIA relative to the area be estimated based on the plot or field researches.

Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo principal avaliar o uso e a ocupação dos lotes de uma área urbana e analisar as possibilidades de uso das medidas de controle local de inundação: microrreservatórios de detenção e pavimentos permeáveis. A área de estudo foi a Sub-bacia Hidrográfica Urbana da Ponte Seca (SBHUPS), em Jaboticabal - SP. O total de lotes da SBHUPS é 1.777. Avaliaram-se 164 lotes, por amostragem aleatória estratificada proporcional de acordo com a área. Utilizou-se de levantamento de campo, informações cadastrais e entrevistas com moradores para a coleta dos dados. Caracterizaram-se a área livre, área impermeabilizada, área construída, taxa de ocupação (TO), taxa de ocupação e impermeabilização (TOI), tipo de solo, nível do lençol freático e topografia de cada lote amostrado. Argüiram-se os moradores sobre a aceitação do uso das medidas. Estes parâmetros foram usados para avaliar as possibilidades de suas implantações e, então, avaliaram-se os custos. Os valores médios por estrato indicam que a TO e a TOI decrescem com o aumento da área do lote. Obtiveram-se relações entre TO e área do lote, TOI e área do lote e TO e TOI representadas por equações, cujos coeficientes de determinação ficaram acima de 0,96. O uso dos microrreservatórios de detenção, como medida de controle, foi limitado pela aceitação dos moradores, a 82,8% dos lotes. O uso do pavimento permeável foi restringido pelos parâmetros área livre e aceitação dos moradores.

This report had the main objective to evaluate the use and the occupation of the plot from an urban hydrographic basin and to analyze the possibilities at the use of measures of local control of floods, such as micro reservoir of detention and porous pavements. The area studied was the urban hydrographic basin from "Ponte Seca" (SBHUPS), on Jaboticabal City, São Paulo. The total of plots on BHUPS is 1.777. During the research it was analyzed 164 plots, using proportional random sampling. The sample was divided in: plots smaller than 160 m², between 160 m² and 300 m², between 300 m² and 600 m², between 600 m² and 900 m², between 900 m² and 1500 m² and bigger than 1500 m². The data was collected on survey "in loco", registered information and also interview with the residents. For lots characterization, free area, impermeability area, built area, occupation rate, occupation and impermeability rate, soil type, water table level, topografic were used. The residents were questioned about the acceptation of the use of these measures. This parameters were utilized to evaluated the possibilities to introduce it, and then, the costs were evaluate. The results showed that TO goes down with the increasing of the plots' area. The TOI showed the same behavior. Were obtained relation between TO and area of plot, TOI and area of plot and TO and TOI represented by equations, whose the coefficient of determination got higher than 0,96. The use of micro reservoir of detention, as a control measure, was limited by the acceptation from the residents to 82,8% of the plots. The use of permeable floor was limited by the free area parameter and the acceptation from the residents.
