O cultivo da seringueira em monocultivo ou consorciada com cafeeiro surge como alternativa promissora e uma opção para os cafeeicultores frente às constantes oscilações da produção e do mercado. Porém, a produtividade de ambas as culturas é fortemente afetada pelas variações climáticas e pelo sistema de cultivo adotado. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar os efeitos da variação dos fatores do clima e dos sistemas de cultivo sobre as trocas gasosas, eficiência fotoquímica do fotossistema II (FV/FM) e anatomia foliar do cafeeiro. Foram estudados quatro sistemas de cultivo: café em monocultivo (C), três fileiras de cafeeiros a cada fileira dupla de seringueira (SSCCCSS), uma fileira de cafeeiros a cada fileira de seringueira (SCS) e três plantas de café a cada planta de seringueira na mesma fileira (SCSCS). As plantas dos sistemas (SSCCCSS), (SCS) e (SCSCS) apresentaram os menores valores de taxas fotossintéticas (A), condutância estomática (gs), transpiração (E) e maiores valores para a razão Fv/Fm. As plantas de café em (C) apresentaram médias superiores de espessura dos parênquimas paliçádico e lacunoso, do limbo foliar, além de maior índice estomático em relação aos demais sistemas de cultivo, apresentando, dessa forma, plasticidade anatômica para a espécie, quando comparada às plantas de sol e sombreadas pela seringueira.

One alternative to reduce the effects of the production instability and of the insecurity of world budget over coffee growers is the cultivation of rubber tree intercropped with coffee. However, the productivity of both cultures is affected strongly by the climatic variations and for the crop system. The objective of this research was to perform evaluations of gas exchanges, chlorophyll fluorescence (Fv/Fm ratio) and leaf anatomy of coffee trees in cropped in different systems with rubber tree and environment. Four intercropping systems were studied as described: full sun coffee (C), three coffee cultivation lines between double strip of rubber tree (SSCCCSS), one coffee cultivation line between rubber tree strips (SCS) and three coffee plants for one rubber tree in the same cultivation line (SCSCS). The coffee plants of the (SSCCCSS), (SCS) and (SCSCS) systems showed smaller values of net photosynthesis rate (A), stomatal conductance (gs) and transpiration (E) and highest values of Fv/Fm ratio than that observed for the (C) system. The coffee plants cropped in the (C) system presented the highest average leaf thickness and also the largest thickness of palisade and lacunar parenchymas and stomatal index. These results indicate that coffee leaves have a great anatomic plasticity when cropped at full sun light or under shaded caused by rubber trees.

Protium widgrenii Engler (Burseraceae) conhecida como almecega-vermelha, é uma espécie nativa, ocorrendo desde Minas Gerais até o Rio Grande do Sul, em quase todas as formações florestais e considerada de grande utilidade para plantios mistos destinados à recomposição de áreas degradadas de preservação permanente. Objetivou-se com este trabalho estudar o efeito da dessecação e de diferentes regimes térmicos sob a germinação de suas sementes. Foram utilizadas sementes com umidade inicial de 51% e sementes dessecadas a 13% de umidade, as quais foram submetidas a um pré-tratamento a frio (5ºC/24 horas) e, posteriormente distribuídas em três rolos de papel germtest, em câmaras de germinação do tipo BOD e em diferentes temperaturas (15; 25; 35ºC constantes e escuro e, 30-20ºC, D/N.). Sementes com 51% de umidade apresentaram maior germinação a 25ºC e menor a 35ºC, com menor IVG a 15ºC e o maior a 25ºC. Com a dessecação a 13% de umidade, as sementes a 15ºC apresentaram menores IVG e germinação. A porcentagem final de germinação a 15ºC foi maior em sementes com 51% de umidade e IVG menor a 25ºC em sementes dessecadas.

Protium widgrenii Engler (Burceraceae) known as "almecega-vermelha", is a native species that occurs in many forest formations Minas Gerais to Rio Grande do Sul and is considered usefull in mixed plantings used for restoration of depleted areas of permanent preservation. The objective of this work was to study the effect of dessecation and the different termic regimes on seed germination. Were used seed with initial humidity of 51% and seeds dessecated until 13% humidity, were submitted to a cold pre-treatment (5ºC/24 hours) and distributed in three rolls of germtest paper and maintained in a germination chamber, type BOD under different temperatures (15, 25, 35ºC constant, dark and 30-20ºC, Day/Night. Seeds with 51% humidity presented higher and lower germination at 25ºC and 35ºC and higher and lower IVG at 25ºC and 15ºC, respectively. Using dessecation at 13% humidity, the seeds at 15ºC showed the lowest IVG and germination. Final germination percentage at 15ºC was higher in seeds with 51% humidity and lower IVG at 25ºC in desseccted seeds.

Mikania glomerata Sprengel é uma importante espécie medicinal popularmente conhecida como guaco, coração-de-jesus, guaco-liso, guaco-cheiroso, cipó-caatinga e erva-de-cobra. Foram estudados os fotoperíodos de 8, 12, 16 e 20 horas. Após 90 dias de tratamento, determinaram-se o peso de matéria seca total, particionada (entre folhas, ramos e raízes), área foliar, razão de área foliar, razão de peso foliar e área foliar específica. O crescimento das plantas variou em função do fotoperíodo, havendo um acréscimo na matéria seca total e particionada até 16 horas de fotoperíodo, seguido de uma queda, quando o fotoperíodo foi aumentado de 16 para 20 horas. A área foliar e o número de folhas foram crescendo até o fotoperíodo de 20 horas. Houve redução da área foliar específica e na razão de área foliar com o aumento do fotoperíodo. Quanto à razão de peso foliar, houve também um decréscimo nesse caráter quando o fotoperíodo aumentou de 8 para 16 horas; em contrapartida, quando o fotoperíodo aumentou de 16 para 20 horas, houve uma tendência de aumento. Foi verificado efeito dos tratamentos no espessamento dos tecidos foliares. O fotoperíodo influenciou positivamente as características associadas ao crescimento, anatomia foliar e fotossintética, como produção de biomassa total, área foliar, número de folhas, particionamento de biomassa para os diversos órgãos da planta.

Mikania glomerata Sprengel, an important medicinal species, popularly known as "guaco", "coração de Jesus", "guaco liso", "guaco cheiroso", "cipó caatinga" and "erva de cobra" was investigated. The photoperiods of 8, 12, 16 and 20 hours were studied. After 90 days' treatment; total dry matter weight, partitioned (among leaves, branches and roots), leaf area, leaf area ratio, leaf weight ratio and specific leaf area were determined. The plants growth changed with photoperiod there was an increase in the total and partitioned dry matter up to 16 hours followed by a fall when photoperiod was increased from 16 to 20 hours. Leaf area and number of leaves have been growing till the 20-hours photoperiod. There was a reduction of the specific leaf area and leaf area ratio with the increase of photoperiod. Concerning leaf weight ratio, there was also a decrease when photoperiod was from 8 to 16 hours, however, when photoperiod was from 16 to 20 hours, there was a trend toward increase. The treatments effect on the thickening of leaf tissue was observed. The photoperiod had positive result in the characteristics associated with growth, foliar anatomy and photosynthetic as: total biomass production, leaf area, leaf number, partitioned biomass to several plant organs.
