RESUMO O cultivo do milho convencional em áreas de refúgio é importante para preservação da tecnologia Bt e para atender mercados específicos com maior valor agregado aos grãos. Portanto, as pesquisas voltadas ao controle químico de plantas daninhas também devem continuar direcionadas aos híbridos convencionais de milho. O objetivo foi avaliar a seletividade de herbicidas aplicados em pré e pós-emergência de um híbrido convencional de milho cultivado no bioma Cerrado do Brasil. Foram instalados dois experimentos de campo, um na safra verão e outro segunda safra. Os tratamentos foram onze herbicidas, cujas doses são apresentadas em g ha-1 de ingrediente ativo: S-metolachlor (1.680), mesotrione + atrazine (115,2 + 2.000), mesotrione + atrazine (192 + 2.000), tembotrione + atrazine (75,6 + 2.000), tembotrione + atrazine (100,8 + 2.000), nicosulfuron + atrazine (16 + 2.000), nicosulfuron + atrazine (24 + 2.000), [mesotrione + atrazine] ([120 + 1.,200]), aplicação sequencial de [mesotrione + atrazine] ([60 + 600]), atrazine (2.000), mais testemunha capinada. Independentemente do experimento, todos os herbicidas aplicados pré e pós-emergência do milho proporcionaram baixos percentuais de fitointoxicação. Em ambos os experimentos nenhum dos tratamentos causou redução no estande, confirmando a ausência de mortalidade das plantas pela aplicação de herbicidas. O tombamento/acamamento das plantas foi observado no experimento realizado de verão e não observou efeito entre tratamentos. Massa de 100 grãos e produtividade do milho não alteraram em função da aplicação de herbicidas na pré e pósemergência da cultura. ABSTRACT The cultivation of conventional maize in refuge areas is important for preserving Bt technology and serving specific markets with greater added value to the grains. Therefore, research aimed at chemical weed control must also continue to be directed to conventional maize hybrids. The objective was to evaluate the selectivity of herbicides applied in preand post-emergence of a conventional maize hybrid cultivated in the Cerrado biome of Brazil. Two field experiments were set up, one in summer and the other in second season. RESUMO O objetivo do presente estudo foi avaliar se houve diferença entre a taxa de cobertura vacinal entre dois municípios com diferentes estratégias de vacinação, considerando-se as espécies e as taxas de cobertura durante os períodos do dia. O período de vacinação durante o dia foi categorizado em: M1 (manhã: 09h-11h), M2 (manhã/noite: 11h-13h), M3 (tarde: 13h-15h) e M4 (tarde: 15h-17h). Um modelo de medidas repetidas foi utilizado para comparar a taxa de vacinação entre períodos do dia e cidades. A interação entre período e município foi estatisticamente significativa (P<0,01), indicando que a diferença na taxa de vacinação entre os períodos foi dependente do município analisado. Os resultados da análise de diferença entre proporções revelaram que o município B vacinou 3,3% (2,2%-4,4%, limites de confiança de 95%) menos cães e 20,1% (17,9%-22,4%, limites de confiança de 95%) menos gatos do que o município A. No município A, a taxa de vacinação no período M1 foi maior do que nos períodos M3 (P=0,07) e M4 (P<0,01). Além disso, a taxa de vacinação foi maior no M2 do que no M4 (P<0,01). ABSTRACT This study evaluated whether there were differences in vaccination coverage rates between municipalities with different vaccination strategies regarding the species and the coverage rates during different day periods. The vaccination period was categorized as M1 (morning; 09h00 am - 11h00 am), M2 (morning/afternoon; 11h00 am - 01h00 pm), M3 (afternoon; 01h00 pm - 03h00 pm), and M4 (afternoon; 03h00 pm - 05h00 pm). A repeated measures model compared the vaccination rate between periods and municipalities. The interaction between time and municipality was statistically significant (P < 0.01), indicating that the vaccination rate difference between periods depended on the municipality analyzed. Results of the difference between proportions analysis revealed that municipality B vaccinated 3.3% (2.2%-4.4%, 95% confidence limits) less dogs and 20.1% (17.9%-22.4%, 95% confidence limits) less cats than the municipality A. In municipality A, the vaccination rate in period M1 was higher than in periods M3 (P = 0.07) and M4 (P < 0.01). The vaccination rate was higher in M2 than in M4 (P < 0.01). In municipality B, the vaccination rate in period M1 was higher than in M2 (P = 0.01). The vaccination rate in M2 was lower than that observed in M3 (P = 0.01) and M4 (P = 0.01). RESUMO Leptospirose e toxoplasmose são zoonoses de caráter ocupacional disseminadas mundialmente, principalmente em áreas tropicais e socioeconomicamente vulneráveis. Ambas as doenças têm hospedeiros vertebrados, que espalham o agente infeccioso para o meio ambiente e são potencialmente infecciosos para o homem, as quais podem evoluir para casos fatais. O presente estudo reforça a importância da saúde única para o controle e a profilaxia da leptospirose e da toxoplasmose, mediante a utilização de animais sentinela em áreas de vulnerabilidade socioeconômica, com base em estudo sorológico. Um total de 336 amostras de sangue foi obtido da população canina de um distrito urbano que apresenta altos índices de pobreza e ausência de saneamento básico. Os resultados foram analisados com base em animais sororreagentes e georreferenciados por mapeamento espacial de Kernel. ABSTRACT Leptospirosis and toxoplasmosis are zoonoses of occupational character that are spread worldwide, mainly in tropical and socioeconomically vulnerable areas. Both diseases have vertebrate hosts, which spread the infectious agent to the environment and are potentially infectious to humans and can progress to fatal cases. The present study reinforces the importance of One Health for the control and prophylaxis of leptospirosis and toxoplasmosis using sentinel animals in areas of socioeconomic vulnerability based on a serological study. A total of 336 blood samples were obtained from the canine population of the urban district, which has high rates of poverty and sanitation. The results were analyzed based on seroreactivity animals and georeferencing by kernel spatial mapping. A total of 43.3% (52/120) of the animals were seroreagents for anti-Leptospira spp., with a predominance of Canicola (35/52 = 67.3%) and Pyrogenes (5/52 = 9.6%), while 52.97% (178/336) of the dogs were seroreactive for anti-Toxoplasma gondii. Avaliou-se a ocorrência de fatores de virulência e do sorotipo O157:H7 em 120 linhagens de Escherichia coli, isoladas de 80 casos de mastite clínica bovina e 40 de mastite subclínica. Verificou-se alfa-hemolisina em oito (6,7%) linhagens, isoladas de cinco casos de mastite clínica e três de mastite subclínica e em nenhuma das estirpes detectou-se enteroemolisina. A presença de sideróforos foi encontrada em 11 (9,2%) linhagens, sete de mastite clínica e quatro de subclínica. Em duas (1,7%) estirpes isoladas de mastite subclínica, identificou-se enterotoxina STa. Observou-se efeito citopático em células vero compatível com a produção de verotoxina-VT em cinco (4,2%) linhagens, duas de mastite clínica e três subclínicas. Em uma (0,8%) linhagem isolada de mastite clínica, detectou-se efeito citopático compatível com o fator necrosante citotóxico. Nenhuma estirpe apresentou-se sorbitol-negativa no MacConkey-sorbitol, tampouco aglutinou com o sorotipo O157:H7. Os antimicrobianos mais efetivos foram polimixina B (97,5%) e norfloxacina (95,8%). Observou-se multi-resistência a dois ou mais antimicrobianos em 24 (20%) estirpes, principalmente com o uso de ampicilina e ceftiofur.

The occurrence of different virulence factors and O157:H7 serotype investigation in 120 Escherichia coli strains isolated from clinical (80 cases) and subclinical (40 cases) bovine mastitis was evaluated. Alpha-haemolysin was detected in 8 (6.7%) strains (5 clinical and 3 subclinical cases). None strain showed enterohaemolysin production. E. coli growth under iron restriction conditions (siderophores production) was observed in 11 (9.2%) strains (7 clinical and 4 subclinical cases). STa enterotoxin was detected in 2 (1.7%) strains from subclinical cases. Cytotoxic effect in vero cells compatible with verotoxin-VT production was observed in 5 (4.2%) strains (2 clinical and 3 subclinical cases). One strain (0.8%) isolated from clinical mastitis showed cytophatic effect in vero cells compatible with cytotoxic-necrotic-factor production. None strain showed non-sorbitol fermenting colonies using sorbitol MacConkey agar and agglutination with specific anti-sera for E. coli O157:H7 serotype investigation. Polymixin B (97.5%) and norfloxacin (95.8%) were the most effective drugs. Multiple-drug resistance for 2 or more antimicrobials was observed in 24 (20.0%) strains, mainly with use of ampicillin and ceftiofur.

A concentração inibitória mínima-MIC em 30 estirpes de Pseudomonas aeruginosa isoladas de mastite bovina foi avaliada utilizando o E-test padrão e o método modificado, pela adição de Tris-EDTA e DMSO. Os métodos modificados apresentaram redução significativa da MIC das estirpes utilizando a gentamicina, a ciprofloxacina e a norfloxacina.
