ABSTRACT This article presents the results of an investigation about the processes of exclusion, abjection, and struggle from trans people* as an attempt to enforce their rights to education. The qualitative research was conducted drawing from five interviews and the analyses were organized in three axes: exclusion with the interruption of schooling; going back to school in adult life, and the new perspectives of life upon gaining access to and remaining at school. The results reveal students facing excluding processes who challenge gender rules regarding their right to education or, or even their right to live under situations of abjection. RESUMO Este artigo apresenta resultados de investigação sobre os processos de exclusão, abjeção e luta de pessoas trans* na tentativa de garantir seus direitos à educação. A pesquisa qualitativa foi realizada a partir de cinco entrevistas e as análises foram organizadas em três eixos: a exclusão com a interrupção dos estudos; a retomada na vida adulta e as novas perspectivas de vida com a conquista do acesso e da permanência na escola. Os resultados revelam processos excludentes de estudantes que desafiam as normas de gênero quanto ao direito à educação ou, até mesmo, à vida com situações de abjeção. Resumo O objetivo do artigo é trazer informações acerca da socialização de gênero em quatro gerações da elite paulistana do século XX e XXI. Trata-se da análise de dados recolhidos na pesquisa Pensamento e práticas de cultura da elite paulistana. A intenção é problematizar experiências socializadoras de homens e mulheres — hetero e homossexuais — indagando sobre as possíveis transformações das formas de hierarquia de poder nestes grupos a partir dos habitus de gênero. Os dados foram recolhidos em entrevistas e questionários, com um olhar qualitativo, aplicados em um grupo de 48 pessoas. A hipótese principal apoia-se na teoria dos capitais de Pierre Bourdieu, entre outras, e suas formas subjetivas de construção de disposições de habitus. Destaca-se, por um lado, que as gerações e o sexo das pessoas passaram por mudanças expressivas, indicando rupturas individuais e sociais com alguns padrões estabelecidos para seu sexo ou geração. Por outro lado, indica-se também a permanência de um sentido prático que continua garantindo em todas as gerações as posições de status em função de suas expertises, subjetividades e berço familiar.

Abstract The objective of the article is to bring information about the socialization of gender in four generations of the São Paulo elite in the 20th and 21st centuries. This is the analysis of data collected in the research Thought and cultural practices of the elite paulistana. The intention is to problematize the socializing experiences of men and women - straight and homosexual - inquiring about the possible transformations of the forms of power hierarchy in these groups from the gender habitus. The data were collected in interviews and questionnaires, with a qualitative look, in a group of 48 people. The main hypothesis is based on Pierre Bourdieu’s theory of capital, among others, and its subjective forms of construction of habitus dispositions. It is noteworthy, on the one hand, that people’s generations and gender have undergone significant changes, indicating individual and social ruptures with some established standards for their gender or generation. On the other hand, it is also indicated the permanence of a practical sense that continues to guarantee status positions in all generations due to their expertise, subjectivities and family background.

Resumen ¿Qué pueden hacer las escuelas y los docentes para mitigar los impactos de la violencia armada? Comenzando en esta pregunta, se presentan las experiencias de profesoras negras que trabajan en escuelas afectadas por la violencia armada en las favelas de Rio de Janeiro. Se reconoce el cuidado y el trabajo emocional como elementos fundamentales para enfrentar la violencia e imaginar otros futuros. A partir de la información obtenida de entrevistas en profundidad, observación etnográfica y talleres pedagógicos, se analizan las condiciones de trabajo de las docentes y el impacto que ha tenido la violencia armada y el racismo sobre las escuelas de las favelas. Por último, se propone la noción de pedagogía visceral para comprender los esfuerzos pedagógicos que hacen las profesoras para mantener la vida en un contexto de extrema vulnerabilidad.

Abstract What can schools and teachers do to mitigate the consequences of armed violence? Based on this question, the experiences of black teachers working in schools affected by the armed violence in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro are narrated. Care and emotional work are recognized as fundamental elements to face this situation and imagine other futures. With the information gathered from in-depth interviews, ethnographic observation, and pedagogical workshops, we analyzed the teachers’ working conditions and the impact that armed violence and racism has had on the schools in the favelas. Finally, the notion of visceral pedagogy is proposed to understand the pedagogical efforts that teachers make to maintain life in a context of extreme vulnerability.

RESUMO Este artigo tem por objetivo fazer um recuo histórico sobre o processo de consolidação do debate entre avaliação, qualidade e gênero nas políticas públicas de Educação Infantil para, então, apresentar alguns aspectos dos Indicadores de Qualidade da Educação Infantil Paulistana, um instrumento de autoavaliação institucional participativa (AIP) que insere gênero como parte das dimensões de qualidade. Qualidade é entendida como negociada e um conceito em disputa (BONDIOLI, 2004; MOSS, 2002; DAHLBERG; MOSS; PENCE, 2003). Consideramos imprescindível destacar, entre os achados da pesquisa, a configuração dessa política de avaliação de qualidade elaborada por mulheres-professoras que compartilhavam de concepções teóricas de infâncias e Educação Infantil consensuadas nos documentos nacionais e internacionais da área a partir da perspectiva de gênero (SCOTT, 1988). Em uma dimensão que nasce com a demanda por questões raciais, a dimensão de gênero entra na intersecção. O grupo de mulheres-professoras responsável pela construção desta dimensão específica, nomeadas “guardiãs da questão”, utilizou-se do documento como um instrumento de luta e, como opção política, pautou as diferenças e as desigualdades de gênero e étnico-raciais na Educação Infantil de São Paulo. Nesse sentido, suas reflexões nos colocam alguns importantes desafios para a intersecção necessária entre avaliação, gênero e qualidade na Educação Infantil.

ABSTRACT This article aims to undertake an historical review of the process of the consolidation of the debate between evaluation, quality and gender in public policies on Early Childhood Education, before then presenting some aspects of the São Paulo City Early Childhood Education Quality Indicators, a participative institutional self-evaluation tool that includes gender as part of the dimensions of quality. Quality is understood as being negotiated and a concept in dispute (BONDIOLI, 2004; MOSS, 2002; DAHLBERG; MOSS; PENCE, 2003). We consider it essential to highlight, among the research findings, the configuration of this quality assessment policy devised by women-teachers who shared theoretical concepts of childhoods and Early Childhood Education agreed on in national and international documents in this area from a gender perspective (SCOTT, 1988). In a dimension that emerges with the demand for racial issues, the gender dimension enters the intersection. The group of women-teachers responsible for building this specific dimension, referred to as “guardians of the issue”, used the document as an instrument of struggle and, as a political option, put gender and ethnic-racial differences and inequalities on the agenda in Early Childhood Education in São Paulo. In this sense, their reflections pose some important challenges for the necessary intersection between evaluation, gender and quality in Early Childhood Education.

Resumo Este artigo apresenta resultados de pesquisa sobre o uso do gênero nos 25 planos estaduais e distrital de educação promulgados entre 2014 e 2016. Demonstramos que as disputas em torno das questões de gênero nos planos evidenciam que não existe apenas uma forma de excluir ou incluir o tema, a saber: o veto; a omissão do termo e de outros a ele relacionados; a explicitação do gênero como um direito das mulheres e da população LGBT para a garantia de acesso e de permanência à educação de qualidade e o uso parcial com referências aos direitos humanos, à garantia de alguns direitos das mulheres e à cultura da paz. Mais da metade dos planos inseriu questões relativas à agenda das mulheres, sob uma perspectiva de gênero. Quase um terço dos planos expressam clareza de que a garantia de acesso e permanência com qualidade passa pelo enfrentamento das desigualdades de gênero. O caráter fixo e binário da oposição entre significados masculinos e femininos foi problematizado ao se incluir o combate ao sexismo, ao machismo e à LGBTfobia. Entretanto, vários planos manifestam o avanço de pautas conservadoras com a exclusão do gênero, corte ou limitação da agenda LGBT e inserção de itens que submetem a abordagem destes temas na escola à concordância das famílias. Conclui-se que o avanço conservador antigênero, ao menos no momento examinado, contrapõe-se à manutenção de várias conquistas. Permanecem, portanto, as contradições nas disputas de poder pela contribuição do gênero na função social da educação.

Abstract This article presents the results of a research on the use of gender in education plans of 25 Brazilian states and the Federal District, enacted between 2014 and 2016. We demonstrate that the disputes around the gender issues in the plans bespeak that there is not just one way of excluding or excluding the topic, namely: the veto; leaving out the word and other related terms; the specification of gender as women´s right and the right of the LGBT community in order to ensure access to and permanence in quality education, and the partial use associated with human rights, the guarantee of some women´s rights, and the culture of peace. Over half the plans included issues related to the women´s agenda in a gender perspective. Almost one third of the plans clearly express that ensuring access and permanence with quality involves confronting gender inequalities. The fixed and binary nature of the opposition between male and female meanings was problematized when fighting sexism, machismo, and LGBTphobia was embraced. However, several plans indicated the move of conservative agendas by excluding gender, by cutting or limiting the LGBT agenda, and by including items that demand that dealing with such topics be subject to family approval. Conclusion is that the conservative anti-gender advance, at least in the period under screen, is opposed to maintaining a number of political achievements. Therefore, contradictions remain in the disputes of power through the contribution of gender in the social function of education.

RESUMO: Com base em pesquisa sobre assexualidade, este artigo traz reflexões sobre os limites e as possibilidades do uso de entrevistas por e-mail. Com o objetivo de alcançar pessoas autoidentificadas como assexuais - em diferentes lugares do Brasil - a investigação que deu origem ao artigo utilizou o e-mail como ferramenta metodológica. Este artigo apresenta os desafios da realização de entrevistas por e-mail diante da ausência de pistas sociais como gestos, entonação de voz e linguagem corporal. Também expõe as vantagens ao possibilitar maior alcance geográfico dos sujeitos, ao permitir a participação de pessoas que - por diferentes motivos - não concederiam entrevista presencialmente; e ao viabilizar o contato com uma autoidentificação nascida e difundida nos meios virtuais. Esses aspectos evidenciam o fortalecimento das tecnologias de informação e comunicação como instâncias socializadoras no processo de construção identitária na contemporaneidade e a contribuição do acesso à internet para o enriquecimento da pesquisa sobre assexualidade.

ABSTRACT: Taking a research about asexuality as a source, this article brings reflections on the limits and possibilities of using e-mail interviews as a methodological research tool. In order to reach self-identified asexuals who accepted to be interviewed - located in different regions, states and cities of Brazil - the research that led to this article used e-mail as a tool. This article presents the challenges faced by e-mail interviews considering the absence of social clues - like gestures, voice intonation and body language. Additionally, the article also points out its advantages, such as allowing a greater geographic reach of the research subjects; making possible the participation of people who - for different reasons - would not agree to face-to-face interviews; and enabling the contact with a self-identification born and spread on the internet. These aspects highlight the strengthening of information and communication technologies as socialization agents in the process of identity construction in contemporaneity, as well as the contribution of the internet access to the enrichment of the research about asexuality.

Resumo O objetivo desta entrevista é oferecer subsídios para problematizar a introdução da perspectiva de gênero nas políticas de educação com base na experiência bem-sucedida de Portugal, mais enfaticamente na educação infantil e nos anos iniciais do Ensino Fundamental, o que corresponde ao 1º ciclo da educação básica portuguesa. A entrevista foi concedida pela professora Maria João Cardona às professoras Carolina Faria Alvarenga e Cláudia Vianna, a partir de um debate realizado ora por e-mail, ora presencialmente durante estágio de doutorado2, a fim de conhecer as políticas públicas de gênero para a educação de infância portuguesa. Apesar de números ainda desiguais no que tange à igualdade de gênero, Portugal vem, ao longo dos anos, construindo políticas públicas que colocam a educação como área estratégica no combate às desigualdades de gênero. Maria João Cardona ganha destaque ao integrar todo o processo de introdução das questões de gênero e cidadania na educação infantil e no 1º ciclo da educação básica em Portugal, coordenando a elaboração do Guião de Educação – Gênero e Cidadania – pré-escolar, considerado um marco histórico na inserção da educação de infância nas políticas de igualdade. Maria João Cardona é educadora de infância, psicóloga e formadora de educadoras de infância e professoras/es do 1º ciclo da educação básica em Portugal. Tem mestrado e doutorado em Ciências da Educação, realizados na França, em uma perspectiva da sociologia da educação. A partir da experiência em muitos projetos para a educação de infância, que incluem produção de material e formação docente na articulação das políticas de igualdade e políticas de educação, ela oferece um relato inspirador a respeito de como é possível articular as questões de gênero com as dimensões institucionais, políticas e práticas na proposição de um referencial nacional para a educação de infância em Portugal.

Abstract The purpose of this interview is to offer contribution to problematize the introduction of gender’s perspective in education policies based on the successful experience of Portugal, more specifically the early childhood education and the early years of Elementary Education, which correspond to the 1st cycle of basic education in Portugal. The interview was conceded by Professor Maria João Cardona to professors Carolina Faria Alvarenga and Claudia Vianna, based on discussions via e-mail, and sometimes in person during doctoral training, in order to know gender public policies for the Portuguese childhood education. Despite the still uneven numbers regarding gender equality, over the years Portugal has been building public policies that place education as a strategic area in the struggle against gender inequalities. Professor Maria João Cardona stands out in the entire process of introducing gender and citizenship issues in early childhood and first cycle of basic education in Portugal, by coordinating the elaboration of the Education Guide - Gender and Citizenship - preschool, considered a historical landmark in the insertion of childhood education into equality policies. Professor Maria João Cardona is a childhood educator, a psychologist and a trainer of early childhood and basic education teachers in Portugal. She has master and doctorate degrees in Educational Sciences, held in France, based on sociology of education. Drawing on experience in many projects for early childhood education - which includes material production and teacher training in the articulation of equality policies and education policies - she provides an inspiring account of how gender issues can be articulated with institutional dimensions, policies and practices in proposing a national referential for early childhood education in Portugal.

Este artigo explora a relação entre Estado e movimentos sociais na produção de políticas públicas de educação voltadas para o gênero e para a diversidade sexual. Esta reflexão toma como fontes principais duas investigações mais recentes voltadas para a compreensão da introdução do gênero e da diversidade sexual nas políticas públicas de educação no Brasil, no governo de Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva: uma tese de livre docência (VIANNA, 2011) e outro trabalho que verificou como as políticas voltadas para o currículo foram compreendidas, apropriadas e implementadas por professoras e professores de escolas públicas do estado de São Paulo (VIANNA, 2012). A intenção deste artigo foi olhar a produção dessas políticas a partir das tensões presentes na interlocução do governo Lula com demandas sociais por diminuição da desigualdade e construção de direitos sociais advindas do movimento LGBT (Lésbicas, Gays, Bissexuais, Transexuais e Transgêneros). Ao discutir ganhos, perdas e desafios futuros, o texto destaca as contradições presentes no processo de interlocução entre o governo e o movimento LGBT. Quando o governo introduz demandas de gênero e diversidade sexual na educação, parece querer valorizar o tema sem considerar as relações de poder que determinam os parâmetros tradicionais que sustentam as relações de gênero e as identidades docentes no cotidiano escolar.

This article explores the relation between the State and social movements in the production of public education policies focused on gender and sexual diversity. This reflection takes as its main sources two recent investigations dedicated to understanding the introduction of gender and sexual diversity into public education policies in Brazil during the Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva government: one livre-docência thesis (VIANNA, 2011) and another work that investigated how the curriculum policies were understood, appropriated and implemented by public school teachers in the state of São Paulo (VIANNA, 2012). The purpose of this article is to look at the production of these policies from the viewpoint of the tensions present in the dialogue between the Lula government and the social demands made by the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) movement to reduce inequality and to construct social rights. By discussing gains, losses and future challenges, the text highlights the contradictions found in the processes of interlocution between the government and the LGBT movement. When the government introduces gender and sexual diversity demands in education, it seems to be willing to give value to the theme without considering the power relations that determine the traditional parameters supporting gender relations and teaching identities in daily school life.

Este artigo traz resultados de levantamentos da produção acadêmica sobre a introdução do gênero e da sexualidade nas políticas públicas de educação no Brasil entre 1990 e 2009. O conjunto de obras examinadas concentra 73 títulos. Elas acompanham o desenvolvimento das políticas públicas de educação, as quais vêm enfatizando o currículo, e indicam atualmente a construção de uma agenda de políticas voltadas para a diversidade sexual, com a criação de muitos projetos e programas. A maioria dessa produção, muito recente e centrada no Sul e no Sudeste, é composta por dissertações, artigos de divulgação destas e ensaios, com um número reduzido de teses. Por meio da análise desse material identificaram-se dois movimentos analíticos: o uso do conceito de gênero, sob influência de Joan Scott, e, nas produções mais recentes, a crítica ao que Judith Butler denomina de "matriz heterossexual".

This article brings out the results of data from the academic production about the introduction of gender and sexuality in the public educational policies in Brazil between 1990 and 2009. The study involved 73 titles.Most of them, recent and produced mainly in the south and southeast regions of the country, consist of dissertations, articles related of them and essays, being just a few of them doctoral thesis. They follow the development of the public educational policies that have been focusing on the curriculum and indicate nowadays the construction of an agenda of sexual diversity policies through the creation of many projects and programs. When analyzing the above mentioned material, two analytical movements were identified: the use of the concept of gender, under the influence of Joan Scott and, in the most recent productions, the criticism to what Judith Butler calls the heterosexual matrix.

OBJETIVO: analisar os padrões da deglutição antes e após intervenção fonoaudiológica em um grupo de crianças com Paralisia Cerebral que apresentam quadro de Disfagia. MÉTODO: estudo longitudinal, constituído por vinte crianças portadoras de Paralisia Cerebral, com idades entre um e oito anos, de ambos os sexos. Foi utilizada anamnese com os responsáveis e os pacientes foram submetidos à avaliação funcional da deglutição antes e após intervenção fonoaudiológica num período de três meses. RESULTADOS: percebeu-se discreta melhora no padrão de deglutição o que consequentemente trouxe um melhor padrão de alimentação aos pacientes avaliados e orientados. CONCLUSÃO: o presente estudo mostrou que a intervenção fonoaudiológica aos pacientes portadores de Paralisia Cerebral traz como resultado melhorias em seu padrão de alimentação, apesar do curto período de atendimento (três meses).

PURPOSE: to analyze swallowing patterns before and after speech therapy intervention in a group of children with Cerebral Palsy who have dysphagia. METHOD: cross-sectional study, consisting of twenty children with Cerebral Palsy, aged between one and eight years, both genders. We used a clinical history with the family heads and the patients were subjected to functional swallowing assessment before and after speech intervention in a period of three months. RESULTS: slight improvement was noted in the swallowing pattern which consequently brought a better pattern of meals to the patients. CONCLUSION: this study found that the speech intervention in patients with Cerebral Palsy brings as a result an improvement in their usual diet, despite the short treatment period(three months).
