Este trabajo planteó y analizó los estudios relacionados con el tema, a través de una revisión de alcance basada en los lineamientos PRISMA. Con base en los criterios de elegibilidad y estrategias de búsqueda, se analizaron 3.904 resultados, seleccionándose 39 artículos científicos empíricos. Los análisis de datos de publicación y sus resultados demostraron una amplia variedad de conceptos investigados y algunas tendencias metodológicas, generalmente con un enfoque cualitativo. Abstract Retirement is a central phenomenon in our society, and it is essential to know its current meanings. This article mapped and analyzed the studies about the meanings of retirement through a scoping review based on the PRISMA guidelines. Considering the eligibility criteria and search strategies, 3,904 results were analyzed, with 39 empirical scientific articles being selected. Analyses of publication data and their results demonstrated a wide variety of investigated concepts and some methodological trends, generally with a qualitative approach. Although most studies address the construct in two dimensions (positive and negative), more complex approaches are discussed. Abstract Introduction: IgA nephropathy (IgAN) is the most common glomerular disease globally, and its susceptibility and the risk for the development of end-stage kidney disease are related to genetic and environmental factors. IgAN recurrence after kidney transplantation is relatively common, impacting graft function and survival. This study evaluated the risk factors and the clinical, laboratory, and histological characteristics of post-transplant IgAN recurrence based on the Oxford classification. Material and methods: Retrospective single-center cohort study including kidney transplant recipients with biopsy-proven pre-transplantation IgAN, with analysis of risk factors and clinical, laboratory, and histological characteristics of the IgAN recurrence cases. Results: 53 patients fulfilled the inclusion criteria and were included in the study. The majority was male, white, eutrophic, with a mean age of 27 ± 9 years at IgAN diagnosis. Systemic arterial hypertension and proteinuria were frequent in the pretransplant period. Four recipients (7.5%) presented IgAN recurrence in a period of 6 to 122 months post-transplant. ABSTRACT This study evaluated different crosses for sustainable beef production in the Meio-Norte, Brazil. Thirty-four cattle [seven Curraleiro Pé-duro (CPD), six Nellore (NEL), seven F 1 ( ½ NEL + ½ CPD ), seven F 2 A ( ¼ CPD + ¼ NEL + ½ Angus ), and seven F 2 S ( ¼ CPD + ¼ NEL + ½ Senepol )] were evaluated on natural pastures in the states of Piauí and Maranhão. The animals were weighed at birth (BW); weaning (WW); 12 (W12), 18 (W18), and 24 months (W24); and slaughter (SW). The morphometric measurements of rump height (RH), withers height (WH), body length (BW), and heart girth (HG) were assessed. Hot carcass weight (HCW), cold carcass weight (CCW), loin-eye area (LEA), backfat thickness (BFT), carcass dressing percentage (DP), water-holding capacity (WHC), cooking loss (CL), shear force (SF), pH, meat color (L*M, a*M, and b*M), and fat color (L*F, a*F, and b*F) were also analyzed. The three-cross animals (F2A and F2S) showed heavier weights from weaning to slaughter as well as higher HCW and CCW. The three-cross cattle produced less methane per kg of meat. The lack of differences between the NEL, F1, F2A, and F2S animals indicates that crossbreeding did not increase their size, which could be detrimental to reproductive efficiency. Loin-eye area, BFT, and DP differed between the genetic groups, with the highest LEA obtained by F2A. Backfat thickness and DP were low in all animals, suggesting a need for increased carcass fatness. Water-holding capacity, CL, SF, pH, a*F, b*F, L*M, and a*M did not differ; therefore, crossbreeding did not affect qualitative or visual aspects of meat and fat. The use of crosses in meat production systems in the Meio-Norte region of Brazil is a viable option to improve sustainability. In this respect, three-cross animals have the best performance.

A arquitetura de microsserviços é um estilo arquitetural para construção de sistemas distribuídos através de um conjunto de pequenos serviços autónomos. Este trabalho investiga os fatores relevantes acerca da arquitetura de microsserviços na perspetiva da Gestão da Arquitetura Empresarial (GAE) e propõe uma arquitetura padrão representada em ArchiMate, que suporta a função de planear e manter a arquitetura atualizada. Esta arquitetura padrão define, (i) princípios e contexto de governação, (ii) uma estrutura genérica para constituição das equipas, e (iii) uma arquitetura de referência contendo padrões tecnológicos. A proposta visa atender ao papel da gestão da arquitetura empresarial através da governação descentralizada e suportar as equipas de microsserviços de modo menos intrusivo e restritivo possível. A proposta arquitetural é avaliada por intermédio da realização de entrevistas e de um inquérito aplicado a profissionais de diferentes áreas de negócio.

Microservice architecture is an architectural style to building distributed systems through a set of small standalone services. This paper investigates the relevant factors about the microservices architecture from the perspective of Enterprise Architecture Management (EAM) and proposes a reference architecture represented in ArchiMate, which supports the function of planning and keeping the architecture up to date. This reference architecture defines, (i) governance principles and context, (ii) a generic team building structure, and (iii) an architecture model containing technology standards. The proposal aims to address the role of enterprise architecture management through decentralized governance and to support microservice teams in the least intrusive and restrictive way possible. The architectural proposal is evaluated through interviews and a survey applied to professionals from different business areas.

Abstract: We describe the first occurrence of biogenic traces made by mammals within an iron formation cave located in the Serra da Ferrugem Ridge, in Southeastern Brazil. These bioerosions are tooth traces produced in boulders, walls and floor within the cave. The traces occur as sets of two or more grooves, which are highly variable in size. The grooves were compared to tooth traces artificially produced by imprinting the incisors of different mammal species collected in the cave region on soft clay. Among those, the following taxa are potential tracemakers: Akodon sp., Oligoryzomys sp., Necromys lasiurus, Rhipidomys mastacalis, Oecomys gr. concolor, Trinomys moojeni, and Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris. The age of the traces is unknown; therefore, any discussion on its fossil nature is circumstantial. Regardless of its relevance to paleontology, the presence of ichnological features should be considered as an additional cave value, according to the current Brazilian legislation regarding cave protection.

Resumo A eficiência reprodutiva deve ser avaliada em propriedades leiteiras para identificação de indivíduos com problemas reprodutivos ligados tanto à fêmea quanto ao macho, visando minimizar perdas na produção. A reprodução está entre os fatores que afetam a produtividade dos rebanhos e chama atenção, em alguns momentos, pelos baixos índices na pecuária tradicional. Objetivou-se estudar a ferramenta de avaliação espermática denominada índice CAP e sua correlação com as análises biométricas e morfológicas do sêmen de touros da raça Gir. Foram utilizados 34 touros da raça Gir (Bos taurus indicus) aptidão leiteira, hígidos, com 17 a 31 meses de idade e 450 kg de massa corporal média. Os touros foram submetidos a exame andrológico (avaliação física incluindo biometria testicular e morfológica do sêmen), seguido pela classificação andrológica por pontos (índice CAP). Foram realizadas três coletas independentes para avaliar a qualidade espermática por touro durante o período do experimento. De acordo com a avaliação do índice CAP, os animais foram classificados como excelentes (17 %) e muito bons (83 %). O índice CAP correlacionou-se positivamente com o perímetro escrotal e as características físicas do sêmen.

Abstract Reproductive efficiency should be evaluated in dairy farms, when they are related to reproductive problems in both female and male. Breeding is among factors that affect herd productivity and draws attention by low rates of traditional livestock breeding. The aim was to study sperm evaluation tool known as the CAP index and its correlation with the biometric and morphological analyzes of Gir bulls semen. Thirty four healthy Gir bulls (Bos taurus indicus), dairy fitness, with 17 to 31 months of age with 450 kg of body mass were used. The bulls were submitted to andrological examination (physical evaluation including testicular biometry and semen morphological analysis) follow by andrological classification by points (CAP index). Three independent collections were carried out to evaluate sperm quality per bull during the experiment period According to the CAP index, animals were classified as excellent (17%) and as very good (83%). The CAP Index correlated positively with scrotal perimeter and semen physical characteristics.

Tendo como objetivo a obtenção de hidrolisados proteicos de farinha de trigo com baixo teor de fenilalanina (Phe), foram preparados, inicialmente, extratos proteicos da farinha de trigo, empregando-se método enzimático pela ação de protease de Bacillus licheniformis. Em seguida, esses extratos foram hidrolisados sob a ação do extrato enzimático bruto (EEB), obtido de casca de abacaxi, e de pancreatina comercial; e alguns parâmetros hidrolíticos foram avaliados, tais como temperatura (30; 35; 40; 50; e 70 °C), tempo (1 hora e 30 minutos; 2 horas e 30 minutos; 3 horas e 30 minutos), e pH de reação (6,0; 7,0; 8,0 e 9,0). Para a remoção de Phe, empregou-se o carvão ativado (CA) e a eficiência deste processo foi avaliada determinando-se o teor de Phe por espectrofotometria derivada segunda, na farinha de trigo, assim como nos hidrolisados após tratamento com CA. Para os três parâmetros estudados, observaram-se efeitos variados sobre a remoção de Phe, sendo que os melhores resultados foram encontrados ao se empregar a associação sucessiva de EEB (E:S 10:100, 1 hora e 30 minutos), com a pancreatina (E:S 4:100, 3 horas e 30 minutos), em pH 7,0 a 50 °C, tendo atingido 66,28% de remoção de Phe, o que corresponde a um teor final de Phe de 522,44 mg.100 g-1 de hidrolisado.

With the aim of obtaining wheat flour hydrolysates with low-phenylalanine (Phe) content, protein extracts were prepared using an enzymatic method through the action of a protease from Bacillus licheniformis. Next, these protein extracts were hydrolyzed by a crude enzymatic extract (CEE) obtained from pineapple peel followed by a commercial enzyme (pancreatin). Some parameters, such as temperature (30, 35, 40, 50 and 70 °C), time (1 hour and 30 minutes, 2 hours and 30 minutes, 3 hours and 30 minutes), and pH of the reaction (6.0, 7.0, 8.0 and 9.0) were evaluated. Activated carbon (AC) was used for removing Phe and the efficiency of this process was evaluated by second derivative spectrophotometry, measuring Phe content in wheat flour as well as in its hydrolysates after AC treatment. Varied effects were observed for the three parameters studied, and the best results were found using successive association of CEE (E: S 10:100, 1 hour and 30 minutes) with pancreatin (E:S 4:100, 3 hour and 30 minutes) pH 7.0, at 50°C having reached a final Phe content of 522.44 mg.100 g-1 of hydrolysate.

O microcalorímetro de condução pode ser usado para avaliar as taxas metabólicas do espermatozóide eqüino. Dois ejaculados de quatro garanhões foram avaliados quanto à motilidade progressiva pela microscopia, viabilidade espermática (eosina 3%), integridade funcional da membrana (teste hiposmótico) e produção de calor (microcalorimetria). Concentrações ótimas de glicose e de células espermáticas foram determinadas, para mensurar o calor liberado resultante do metabolismo espermático em relação à capacidade de detecção do calor pelo microcalorímetro. Não foi observada diferença da motilidade, viabilidade e integridade funcional de membrana espermática quando adicionada glicose nas três concentrações estudadas. No entanto a avaliação por microcalorimetria ressaltou um maior fluxo de calor a uma concentração de 6 mM de glicose e uma concentração espermática de 10(8) espermatozóides/mL. Portanto, a técnica de microcalorimetria oferece informações adicionais sobre o metabolismo tornando-se uma ferramenta importante no estudo do processo de preservação do sêmen eqüino.

The heat conduction microcalorimeter can be used to evaluate the metabolic rates of the sperm cell. Two ejaculates of four stallions were cooled to +5ºC and checked for sperm motility (bright field microscopy), viability (eosin 3%), functional membrane integrity (hyposmotic swelling test), and heat production (microcalorimetry). Glucose and sperm cell concentrations were determined in order to measure the heat outputs resulting from sperm metabolism. Sperm viability, membrane integrity and sperm motility did not differ among the different glucose concentrations tested. Nevertheless, the highest heat output detected by the microcalorimeter was obtained with 6 mM glucose and 10(8) spermatozoa/mL. Since conduction microcalorimetry offered additional information on equine sperm metabolism, it could be used as a method to study equine semen preservation.

Este trabalho objetivou avaliar duas modificações no fixador externo para osteossíntese umeral em pombos. Após realização de fratura umeral diafisária, esta foi reduzida com um pino intramedular e outro perpendicular, inserido no segmento distal (Grupo A - GA); no grupo B (GB), utilizou-se um pino adicional no fragmento proximal. Todas as aves foram avaliadas clínica e radiograficamente por 60 dias, exceto quatro de cada grupo, que, aos 15, 22, 29 e 36 dias, foram submetidas a eutanásia, para exame macro e microscópico. Quanto ao vôo, todos os animais avaliados obtiveram êxito, sendo o tempo médio e o desvio padrão de 32.25 ± 6,5 dias no GA e de 39.8 ± 3,83 no GB. Observou-se presença de calo ósseo ao exame radiográfico somente nos animais do GA; o tempo médio e o desvio padrão para a consolidação da fratura foram de 36 ± 0 dias no GA e de 34 ± 3,4 no GB. Os estudos microscópicos revelaram que a consolidação óssea no GB foi mais precoce que no GA. Conclui-se que os fixadores são eficazes, sendo que o com dois pinos promove maior estabilização do sítio da fratura, embora necessite tempo cirúrgico superior para confecção.

This paper was aimed at evaluating two changes in the external fixators for osteosynthesis of the humeral fracture that induce the correction of the humeral fracture in pigeons. The reduction of diaphyseal fracture was made with an intramedulary pin associated to another perpendicular one inserted into the distal segment (Group A - GA); in the Group B (GB) an additional pin was used in the proximal fragment. All the pigeons were evaluated clinically and radiographically up to 60 days, except for four of each group which were submitted to euthanasia at 15, 22, 29 and 36 days for the macro and microscope exams. The flight test was successful in all pigeons. The bone calus was radiografically visible only in the GA; the mean time and the standard deviation for flight was 32.25 ± 6.5 days for the GA and 39.8 ± 3.83 for the GB. The mean time and standard deviation for fracture healing was 36 ± 0 days in the GA and 34 ± 3.4 in the GB. The two types of external fixator evaluated were efficient to stabilized the fracture site allowing complete consolidation and return to function. The use of the external fixator with two perpendicular pins provides more stability at the fracture site although it is necessary more time for the surgery procedure.

OBJETIVOS: Avaliar a eficácia e a confiabilidade do método citológico nas lesões da conjuntiva, comparando-o com o exame histopatológico. MÉTODOS: Realizou-se estudo prospectivo em 31 lesões conjuntivais. O material para estudo foi coletado raspando-se as lesões com a ajuda da espátula de Kimura. Posteriormente, procedeu-se à exérese das mesmas que foram encaminhadas para o exame histopatológico. As lâminas do exame citológico foram coradas pela técnica de Papanicolaou. RESULTADOS: O método citológico mostrou alta especificidade (100%) e sensibilidade (92,9%). O valor preditivo positivo foi de 100% e o valor preditivo negativo foi de 94,4%. CONCLUSÕES: O simples método citológico é efetivo e seguro no diagnóstico de lesões tumorais da conjuntiva.

METHODS: A prospective study on 31 conjunctival lesions was performed. Samples were obtained with a Kimura spatula. The lesions were, then, surgically removed and sent for histologic examination. The Papanicolaou technique was used for the cytologic examination. RESULTS: The cytologic method showed high specificity (100%) and sensitivity (92.9%). The positive predictive value was 100% and the negative was 94.4%. CONCLUSIONS: The simple cytologic method is effective and reliable for the diagnosis of tumoral lesions of the conjunctiva.

A otimização de parâmetros operacionais de um processo de eletrodeposição de camada metálica amorfa de liga níquel-molibdênio contendo boro sobre um catodo utilizando um banho de sulfato de níquel, molibdato de sódio, fosfato de boro, citrato de sódio, 1-docecilsulfato de sódio e hidróxido de amônio para pH 9,5 foi estudada. Estudos detalhados sobre o efeito da temperatura do banho, agitação mecânica, densidade de corrente catódica e formato de ânodo conduziu às condições ótimas para obtenção de depósitos de ligas satisfatórias. A mais alta eficiência catódica, cerca de 69% para ânodo cilíndrico e 64% para ânodo retengular de platina, foi obtida a 80ºC, 15 rpm e 100 mA cm-2. Um método voltamétrico para controle e monitoramento automático do processo foi proposto.

Optimization of operational parameters of an electrodeposition process for deposition of boron-containing amorphous metallic layer of nickel-molybdenum alloy onto a cathode from an electrolytic bath having nickel sulfate, sodium molybdate, boron phosphate, sodium citrate, sodium-1-dodecylsulfate and ammonia for pH adjustments to 9.5 has been studied. Detailed studies of the efects on bath temperature, mechanical agitation, cathode current density and anode format have led to optimum operational conditions for obtaining satisfactory alloy deposits. The highest cathode current efficiency for deposition of the alloy was about 69% for cylindrical and 64% for rectangular platinum anode while working at bath temperature 80ºC, cathode rotation 15 rpm and cathode current density 100 mA cm-2. A voltammetric method for automatic monitoring and control of the process was proposed.
