ABSTRACT In these difficult times of the Anthropocene, when hard and heavy threats compromise the destiny of humanity and other species, we are summoned to think new paths of commitment to the care of the Earth. We need to expand the field of care, involving humans and non-humans in a web of permanent collaboration to safeguard creation. Our attention and gaze must also turn to the invisible world under our feet, the world of fungi and mushrooms, which provide us, every day, with clues of revitalizing resurgence. RESUMO Nestes tempos difíceis do Antropoceno, quando ameaças duras e pesadas comprometem o destino da humanidade e de outras espécies, somos convocados a pensar novos caminhos de empenho em favor do cuidado com a Terra. Há que ampliar o campo do cuidado, envolvendo humanos e não humanos numa teia de colaboração permanente, visando a salvaguarda da criação. A atenção e o olhar devem voltar-se também para o mundo invisível sob os nossos pés, o mundo dos fungos e cogumelos, que nos fornecem, a cada dia, pistas de ressurgência revitalizadora. A acolhida da diversidade das culturas foi sempre um grande problema para o ser humano, em razão da presença restritiva do etnocentrismo. Essa diversidade, porém, não constitui uma realidade negativa, mas um "fenômeno natural" e positivo. Assim como a diversidade das culturas, temos também diante de nós a diversidade das religiões e o rico pluralismo religioso. Torna-se hoje imprescindível acolher positivamente esse desafio, reconhecendo a dignidade da diferença e somando forças com as distintas tradições religiosas para construir um mundo melhor e mais digno, acalentado na paz e no respeito.

The acceptance of cultural differences has always been a great problem for human beings, due to the restrictive presence of ethnocentrism. This diversity, however, is not a negative reality, but a "natural" and positive phenomenon. Besides the diversity of cultures, there is also a diversity of religions and a rich religious pluralism before us. It is imperative, today, to positively embrace this challenge, recognizing the dignity of differences and joining forces with different religious traditions in order to build a better and more worthy world, enriched by peace and respect.
