RESUMO As migrações impostas têm ocasionado a presença cada vez maior de estudantes deslocados forçados no sistema de ensino brasileiro. O objetivo deste artigo é abordar os desafios enfrentados no acolhimento e no ensino de alunos imigrantes e refugiados, matriculados na Educação Básica, a partir da perspectiva docente, em dois municípios da região da Serra do Rio Grande do Sul. A pesquisa, de caráter quantitativo e qualitativo, discute o ensino de Português como Língua de Acolhimento e a formação de professores em uma perspectiva plurilíngue. A análise dos dados é realizada por meio da Análise de Conteúdo. Os resultados evidenciam a necessidade de formação docente para o ensino de língua portuguesa para imigrantes e refugiados, ainda nos cursos de licenciatura, e a concretização de políticas públicas para o acolhimento desse público. Ao final do artigo, sugerem-se algumas ações, a fim de promover a aprendizagem e a integração desses estudantes à sociedade brasileira, garantindo-lhes o direito à educação e à construção da cidadania.

ABSTRACT Forced migration has occasioned a higher number of displaced students in the Brazilian scholar system. The main purpose of this paper is to approach, through the teacher’s perspective, the challenges faced when welcoming and teaching immigrants and refugees students who are registered in basic education in two towns in Serra Gaúcha, Rio Grande do Sul. This research, based on quantitative and qualitative methodology, discusses the teaching of Portuguese as a Welcoming Language and teacher’s training in a plurilingual outlook. The data analysis is achieved by Content Analysis. The results indicate the necessity of teacher’s training focused on teaching Portuguese to immigrants and refugees while the teachers are still in graduation courses and the accomplishment of public policies to welcome these students. By the end of the paper, some actions are suggested in order to promote the learning and integration of these subjects in Brazilian society, guaranteeing them the right to education and to the establishment of citizenship.

Abstract In 2019, an oil spill of unprecedented dimensions and unknown source reached the Brazilian coast. Such incident, which occurred somewhere in the ocean and was detected only when the first oil patches reached the beaches in the northeastern region, is recognized as one of the most serious oil spills in the country. From the chromatographic analysis of the oily residues using n-alkanes, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), and oil biomarkers, it was possible to characterize their coverage. The results confirmed that an oil of the same specification reached a length of coastline higher than 3,000 kilometers. However, were also found oily residues that did not match with the product involved in that incident, evidencing the occurrence of different discharges. This study documents the extension of the affected coastline during the incident and assesses the possible origin of such different oils from their geochemical characteristics by selecting 21 samples from more than 300 samples previously collected and analyzed during the response actions. The unexpected occurrence of these residues suggest chronic events. The results highlighted that unrelated oily residues were found even in a region far from the coast, indicating that discharges of oil in the open sea occur more regularly than initially expected.

RESUMO: A cebola é uma importante cultura vegetal, cultivada predominantemente sob sistema de preparo convencional. Como alternativa, o sistema de plantio direto de hortaliças utiliza culturas de cobertura para formar uma camada de biomassa, o que melhora os atributos físicos, químicos e biológicos do solo. Com o objetivo de entender a interação de culturas de cobertura micorrízicas e não-micorrízicas, atividade da fosfatase ácida e disponibilidade e absorção de fósforo do solo pelas plantas, foi realizado um experimento em sistema de plantio direto de hortaliças com a cultura da cebola em Ituporanga, sul do Brasil. Os tratamentos foram: aveia preta (Avena strigosa); centeio (Secale cereale); nabo forrageiro (Raphanus sativus); centeio + nabo forrageiro; aveia preta + nabo forrageiro e um controle com vegetação espontânea. Além disso, duas outras parcelas, uma área em sistema de preparo convencional e uma floresta, ambas adjacentes ao experimento, foram avaliadas. Medimos a biomassa da cultura de cobertura, o rendimento de cebola, a atividade de fosfatase ácida e o fósforo extraído por resina no solo, bem como o conteúdo de fósforo da parte aérea e da raiz e a colonização das raízes em plantas de cobertura, plantas espontâneas e cebolas. Os tratamentos com plantas de cobertura apresentaram a maior biomassa de culturas de cobertura e rendimento de cebola. A atividade de fosfatase ácida e fósforo disponível no solo foram maiores nas parcelas de plantio direto do que na área convencional. A presença de nabo forrageiro, uma planta não micorrízica, foi associada a reduções na colonização de raízes de centeio e cebola por fungos micorrízicos arbusculares. As áreas de plantio direto com plantas de cobertura ou plantas espontâneas no inverno acumularam mais fósforo do que as áreas com preparo convencional. O sistema convencional de lavoura mostrou efeitos adversos para a maioria dos atributos do solo, como mostra a Análise de Componentes Principais.

ABSTRACT: Onion is an important vegetable crop, predominantly grown under conventional tillage system management. Alternatively, the vegetable no-tillage system uses cover crops to form a residue layer, which improves soil physical, chemical, and biological attributes. Aiming to understand the interaction of mycorrhizal and non-mycorrhizal cover crops, phosphatase activity, and soil phosphorus availability and uptake by plants, a no-tillage vegetable production system experiment with onion was carried out in Ituporanga, Southern Brazil. The treatments were black oats (Avena strigosa); rye (Secale cereale); oilseed radish (Raphanus sativus); rye + oilseed radish; black oats + oilseed radish, and a control with spontaneous plants. Additionally, two plots, a conventional tillage system area and a forest, both adjacent to the experiment, were evaluated. We measured cover crop biomass, onion yield, acid phosphatase activity, and resin-extracted phosphorus in the soil, shoot and root phosphorus content, and root colonization in cover crops, spontaneous plants, and onions. The treatments with cover crops had the highest plant biomass in winter and onion yield. Available soil phosphorus and acid phosphatase activity were higher in no-tillage plots than in the conventional tillage system area. The presence of non-mycorrhizal oilseed radish was associated with decreased colonization of rye and onion roots by arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi. No-tillage areas with cover crops or spontaneous plants in winter accumulated more phosphorus than conventional tillage system areas. The conventional tillage system showed adverse effects on most soil attributes, as shown by a Principal Component Analysis.

RESUMO: A biomassa microbiana é determinante na dinâmica da matéria orgânica do solo e sua atividade é um indicador de qualidade do solo em agroecossistemas, refletindo mudanças em práticas de manejo e em condições ambientais. Avaliou-se o efeito de culturas de cobertura de inverno, solteiras ou consorciadas, sobre atributos químicos do solo, carbono da biomassa microbiana (CBM), respiração basal (RB), quociente metabólico (qCO2) e atividade das enzimas urease, β-glucosidase e FDA, bem como o rendimento da cebola em um sistema de plantio direto. O solo é um Cambissolo Húmico alumínico, os tratamentos foram testemunha com vegetação espontânea, cevada, centeio, nabo forrageiro (NF), NF + centeio e NF + cevada. Realizaram-se cinco coletas de amostras de solo (0-10 cm) entre junho a dezembro. Não houve diferenças entre os tratamentos para CBM e RB, e os maiores valores para esses atributos ocorreram em junho, quando as plantas de cobertura estavam em seu estágio inicial. Embora o qCO2 não tenha sido afetado por nenhum tratamento, ele variou entre os períodos de amostragem, com valores entre 0,62 e 10 µg de C-CO2 mg-1 MBC h-1, indicando um ambiente de baixo ou nenhum estresse. As culturas de cobertura tiveram pouca influência na atividade enzimática, mas o FDA foi reduzido em áreas com cultivos solteiros de cevada ou centeio. O rendimento médio de cebola nos tratamentos com culturas de cobertura foi de 13,01 (Mg ha-1), mais alto que no tratamento controle.

ABSTRACT: Microbial biomass is a driving force in the dynamics of soil organic matter, and microbial activity is an indicator of soil quality in agroecosystems, reflecting changes in management practices and environmental conditions. We evaluated the effect of monoculture and intercropped winter cover crops on soil chemical attributes, microbial biomass carbon (MBC), basal respiration (BR), metabolic quotient (qCO2), urease, β-glucosidase, and fluorescein diacetate (FDA) hydrolysis activity, as well as onion yield in a no-tillage system. Soil is a Typic Humudept, and treatments were control with spontaneous vegetation, barley, rye, oilseed radish (OR), OR + rye, and OR + barley. The soil was sampled (0-10 cm) five times between June and December. There were no differences among treatments for MBC and BR, and the highest values for those attributes occurred in June, when cover plants were in their initial stage. Although, qCO2 was not affected by any treatment, it varied among sampling periods, ranging from 0.62 to 10 µg C-CO2 mg-1 MBC h-1, indicating a low- or no stress environment. Cover crops had little influence on enzyme activity, but FDA was lowered in areas with single crops of barley and rye. Average onion yield in cover crops treatments was 13.01 (Mg ha-1), 30-40% higher than in the control treatment.

ABSTRACT The use of cover crops and poultry manure (PM) is an alternative to reduce the use of synthetic inputs and can contribute to the nutrient cycling in onions ( Allium cepa L.) grown under a no-tillage system. However, this management practice may contribute to an increase in N2O emissions to the atmosphere. The aims of this study were to evaluate the immediate effect on N2O emissions of adding PM onto cover crop residues and to verify the effect of different no-tillage systems on N2O emissions. Two studies (laboratory and field) were conducted with the addition of oilseed radish (OR), black oat (BO), and weed (WD) residues with and without PM under a no-tillage (NT) system. Emission of N2O (kg ha-1) was influenced by the different residue-management systems and was higher in treatments with OR residues (2.96 ± 0.67 kg ha-1 for OR and 5.28 ± 1.04 kg ha-1 for OR + PM). The other treatments behaved similarly with emissions of approximately 1.91 ± 0.17 kg ha-1 of N-N2O. The highest N2O emissions in the field study were found within the first 15 days and represented 50.3 % of the average emissions. Poultry manure showed high emissions when the cover crop was OR, but not when it was BO and WD.

ABSTRACT Carbon (C) and nitrogen (N) content in granulometric fractions of soil organic matter (SOM) are sensitive indicators of soil quality changes caused by management systems. This study evaluated the C and N content in granulometric fractions of SOM of aggregates, an Inceptisol under onion grown in no-till vegetable farming systems (NTVFS) and conventional tillage systems (CTS), comparing them to a secondary forest. Treatments consisted of soil cover crops, monocropped and intercropped with onions grown under NTVFS: spontaneous vegetation, 100% black oats; 100% rye; 100% oilseed radish; oilseed (14%) + rye (86%) intercrop and oilseed (14%) + oats (86%) intercrop. The same evaluations were also performed in an area with onions grown under CTS for ± 37 years, and in secondary forest (± 30 years). Undeformed soil samples were collected from 0-5, 5-10, and 10-20 cm deep soil layers, and aggregates were subsequently separated (8.00 mm > Ø ≥ 2.0 mm). Organic C (OC) and N of the granulometric fractions contents were quantified in aggregates, which were subdivided into particulate fractions (POC and PN) and mineral-associated fractions (OCam and Nam). NTVFS promoted protection of SOM at the 0-5 cm depth compared to CTS, as a result of higher POC content. Intercropped oats+oilseed and spontaneous vegetation contributed to an increase in PN content compared to all other treatments under NTVFS. Monocropped and intercroppped oilseed radish caused an increase in Nam, which was more effective than OCam to indicate differences among the systems. Conversion of areas from CTS to NTVFS promotes increases in POC and PN content in the upper soil layer. NTVFS improves the quality of aggregates, and it may reduce damage caused by CTS.

RESUMEN El contenido de carbono (C) y nitrógeno (N) en las fracciones granulométricas de la materia orgánica del suelo (MOS) es un indicador sensible de los cambios en la calidad del suelo causados por los sistemas de manejo. Este estudio evaluó el contenido de Cy N en fracciones granulométricas de la MOS de agregados, en un Inceptisol bajo cebolla cultivada en sistema de cultivo de vegetales sin labranza (SCVSL) y sistema de labranza convencional (SLC), comparándolos con un bosque secundario. Los tratamientos consistieron en cultivos de cobertura del suelo, monocultivos y consorciados con cebollas cultivadas bajo SCVSL: vegetación espontánea, 100% de avena negra; 100% de centeno; 100% nabo forrajero; consorcio de nabo (14%) + centeno (86%), consorcio de nabo (14%) + avena (86%). Las mismas evaluaciones se realizaron en un área con cebollas cultivadas bajo SLC durante ± 37 años, y en un bosque secundario (± 30 años). Se recogieron muestras de suelo no deformadas de capas de suelo de 0-5, 5-10 y 10-20 cm de profundidad, y los agregados se separaron posteriormente (8.00 mm> Ø ≥ 2.0 mm). Las cantidades de C orgánico (CO) y N de las fracciones granulométricas se cuantificaron en agregados, que se subdividieron en fracciones particuladas (PCO y PN) y fracciones asociadas con minerales (COam y Nam). SCVSL promovió la protección de MOS a una profundidad de 0-5 cm en comparación con SLC, como resultado de un mayor contenido de POC. La avena consorciada con nabo y la vegetación espontánea contribuyeron a un aumento en el contenido de PN en comparación con todos los otros tratamientos bajo SCVSL. El nabo forrajero en monocultivo y consorciado causó un aumento en Nam, que fue más efectivo que el COam para indicar diferencias entre los sistemas. La conversión de áreas de SLC a SCVSL promueve aumentos en el contenido de PCO y PN en la capa superior del suelo. SCVSL mejora la calidad de los agregados, y puede reducir el daño causado por SLC.

RESUMO Objetivo: relacionar os aspectos cognitivos com os dados sociodemográficos e a fluência verbal de idosos ativos de um município do sul do Brasil. Métodos: trata-se de um estudo epidemiológico realizado com 386 idosos cadastrados em grupos de convivência do referido município. Os dados foram coletados por meio da utilização de um questionário sociodemográfico, do Teste de Fluência Verbal e do Mini Exame do Estado Mental. Resultados: a maioria dos participantes eram mulheres. A amostra foi caracterizada, predominantemente, por baixa escolaridade e renda mensal de até três salários mínimos. Foi possível observar que quanto menor o número de anos de escolaridade, menor renda mensal e maior faixa etária, pior foi o desempenho no Mini Exame do Estado Mental. Os dados do presente estudo apresentam relações significantes entre o Mini Exame do Estado Mental e o Teste de Fluência Verbal. Conclusão: os aspectos cognitivos analisados por meio do Mini Exame do Estado Mental sofreram influência das variáveis sóciodemográficas e do Teste de Fluência Verbal. Tais variáveis podem contribuir para o conhecimento e acompanhamento dos aspectos cognitivos daqueles que participam de grupos de convivência.

ABSTRACT Purpose: to relate the cognitive aspects with sociodemographic data and the verbal fluency of the active elderly in a municipality in the south of Brazil. Methods: an epidemiological study conducted with 386 elderly people participating in community groups of the municipality. Data were collected using a sociodemographic questionnaire, the Verbal Fluency Test (VFT) and the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE). Results: most participants were women. The sample was characterized by people, predominantly with low schooling and income up to three minimum wages. It was possible to observe that the lower the years of schooling, the lower the monthly income, while the higher the age group, the worse the MMSE. Data of the present study showed significant relationships between the MMSE and the VFT. Conclusion: the cognitive aspects analyzed through the MMSE were influenced by sociodemographic variables and the VFT. These aspects may contribute to the knowledge and monitoring of the cognitive aspects of those who participate in community groups.

RESUMEN Se evaluaron los niveles de nitrógeno total (NT) y N de las sustancias húmicas (SH) de la materia orgánica en agregados de suelo cultivado con cebolla bajo siembra directa de hortalizas (SDH) y sistema de preparación convencional (SPC), comparando con un área de bosque. Los tratamientos evaluados fueron: vegetación espontánea; 100% avena; 100% centeno; 100% nabo; cultivos asociados de nabo (14%) + centeno (86%); cultivos asociados de nabo (14%) + avena (86%); área bajo SPC de cebolla (±37 años) y de bosque secundario de ±30 años). Cinco años después de la implantación del SDH fueran recogidas muestras no disturbados del suelo en las capas 0-5, 5-10 y 10-20 cm y obtenidos los agregados (entre 2,0 y 8,00 mm). En estos se determinaron los niveles de NT y el N de las SH, subdivididos en fracción ácidos fúlvicos (N-FAF), ácidos húmicos (N-FAH) y humina (N-HUM). La conversión de áreas de SPC a SDH favorece el aumento de los niveles de NT y N-HUM en la capa de 0-5 cm. Entre las especies de plantas de cobertura utilizadas en el SDH, los cultivos asociados de avena + nabo favorecieron el aumento del N-HUM (0-20 cm) en comparación a los demás tratamientos. La avena solo y el control con vegetación espontánea aumentaron los niveles de N-FAH y N-FAF, respectivamente, en la capa de 10-20 cm, en comparación a los demás tratamientos en SDH y SPC. El SPC con mijo como planta de cobertura aumentó los niveles de N-FAF (0-20 cm) en comparación con el SDH.

ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to evaluate the soil total nitrogen (TN), and N contents in humic substances (HS) of the organic matter in aggregates of soils cultivated with onion under no-till system for horticulture (NTSH) and conventional tillage system (CTS), comparing with an area of forest. The evaluated treatments were natural vegetation (control), 100% black oats, 100% rye, 100% oilseed radish, intercrop of oilseed (14%) + rye (86%), intercrop of oilseed (14%) + black oats (86%), area under CTS of onion for ±37 years, and area with secondary forest for ±30 years. Five years after the NTSH implementation, undisturbed soil samples from the layers 0-5 cm, 5-10 cm, and 10-20 cm were collected; these samples presented aggregate sizes between 2.0 mm and 8.00 mm. The TN, and N contents of the HS were subdivided into fulvic acids (N-FA), humic acids (N-HA), and humin (N-HU) fractions. The change from CTS to NTSH increases the TN and N-HU contents in the 0-5 cm soil layer. The intercrop of oats and oilseed radish, used as soil plant cover species in NTSH, presented a greater increase in N-HU (0-20 cm) than the other treatments. Black oats, and natural vegetation presented a greater increased in N-HA, and N-FA contents, respectively, in the 10-20 cm layer, than the other treatments in NTSH and CTS. CTS with millet as soil plant cover presented a greater increase in N-FA (0-20 cm) contents than the NTSH treatments.

Resumo Introdução: O câncer é uma grave patologia de elevada incidência e complexidade de diagnósticos. Situações pessoais, ambientais, os efeitos deletérios destas e o estilo de vida modulam diferentes desfechos. Objetivo: Investigar a associação entre a qualidade de vida e a capacidade funcional durante o tratamento de câncer hematológico. Métodos: É um estudo transversal de amostragem intencional de pacientes de ambos os sexos com neoplasia hematológica, entrevistados em 2016. A qualidade de vida (QV) foi avaliada pelo European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire. Para a definição da capacidade funcional em atividades básicas e instrumentais da vida diária, foram empregados o Índice de Katz e a escala de Lawton, respectivamente. Os dados foram submetidos à análise de correlação e testes de comparação de médias. Resultados: Os 52 participantes apresentaram o escore médio de QV de 60,6. Nas escalas funcionais, o pior resultado foi o desempenho de papel (46,8), enquanto nos sintomas, foi a fadiga (48,1). Os indicadores de QV com resultados mais expressivos foram as correlações entre o desempenho de papel e a fadiga (r = -0,60) e entre a função social e dificuldades financeiras (r = -0,45). Ainda houve associação entre a escala de desempenho de papel e a incapacidade funcional para atividades da vida diária (p = 0,017). A fadiga esteve associada à incapacidade para atividades básicas (p = 0,018), enquanto a insônia para as atividades instrumentais (p = 0,032). Conclusão: A associação entre menores escores de QV e a incapacidade funcional reflete os prejuízos da neoplasia hematológica para a realização de atividades diárias.

Abstract Introduction: Cancer is a serious pathology with a high incidence and complex diagnoses. Emotional and environmental factors, the deleterious effects of these, and lifestyle affect different outcomes. Objective: Investigate the association between quality of life and functional capacity during treatment for hematologic cancer. Methods: A cross-sectional study with intentional sampling of patients of both sexes with hematologic neoplasms, interviewed in 2016. Quality of life (QF) was measured by the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire. For the definition of functional capacity in basic and instrumental activities of daily life, the Katz Index and the Lawton Scale, respectively, were used. Data were analyzed by correlations and comparisons of means tests. Results: The 52 participants presented an average QF score of approximately 60.6. Among the functional scales, the worst result was in role functioning (46.8), while for symptoms, it was fatigue (48.1). The results of more expressive QF indicators were the strong correlation between role functioning and fatigue (r = -0.60), and a moderate correlation between social functioning and financial difficulties (r = -0.45). There was still an association between role functioning and functional incapacity in daily activities (p = 0.017). Fatigue was associated with incapacity for basic activities (p = 0.018), while insomnia was correlated with instrumental activities (p = 0.032). Conclusion: The association between lower QF scores and functional incapacity reflects the damaging effect of hematologic neoplasms on daily activities.

Resumen Introducción: El cáncer es una grave patología de alta incidencia y complejidad de diagnósticos. Situaciones personales, ambientales, los efectos deletéreos de esta y el estilo de vida modulan diferentes resultados. Objetivo: Investigar la asociación entre calidad de vida y la capacidad funcional durante el tratamiento del cáncer hematológico. Métodos: Un estudio transversal de muestra intencional de pacientes con neoplasia hematológica de ambos sexos, entrevistados en 2016. La calidad de vida (CV) fue evaluada por la European Organization for Research and Treatment del Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire. Para la definición de la capacidad funcional en actividades básicas e instrumentales de la vida diaria, fueron empleados el Índice de Katz y la escala de Lawton. Los datos fueron sometidos al análisis de correlación y pruebas de comparación de promedios. Resultados: Los 52 participantes presentaron la puntuación promedio de CV de 60,6. Entre las escalas funcionales, el peor resultado fue el desempeño de papel (46,8), mientras que, en los síntomas, fue la fatiga (48,1). Los indicadores de CV con resultados más expresivos fueron la correlación entre el desempeño de papel y la fatiga (r = -0,60) y entre función social y las dificultades financieras (r = -0,45). También hubo asociación entre la escala de desempeño de papel y incapacidad funcional para actividades de la vida diaria (p = 0,017). La fatiga ha estado asociada a la incapacidad para actividades básicas (p = 0,018) y el insomnio para las actividades instrumentales (p = 0,032). Conclusión: La asociación entre menores escores de CV y la incapacidad funcional refleja los perjuicios de la neoplasia hematológica.

RESUMO OBJETIVO: avaliar a implantação das ações do Programa de Controle da Hanseníase no município de Camaragibe, Pernambuco, Brasil. MÉTODOS: pesquisa avaliativa de tipo ‘análise de implantação’, baseada em critérios, indicadores e parâmetros orientados pela construção do Modelo Lógico; analisaram-se quatro componentes - gestão, assistência à saúde, vigilância epidemiológica, educação em saúde e comunicação. Utilizou-se observação direta/questionário e dados do Sistema de Informação de Agravos de Notificação. RESULTADOS: o grau de implantação do programa foi incipiente (58,3%); a estimativa para os componentes variou entre ‘não implantado’ (educação em saúde e comunicação, 48,0%), ‘incipiente’ (gestão, 53,3%; assistência à saúde, 57,2%) e ‘parcialmente implantado’ (vigilância epidemiológica, 73,0%); para 2012, observou-se baixa proporção de contatos examinados (28,4%), abandono de tratamento (34,1%), limitada uniformização do fluxo de atendimento aos pacientes e deficiente resolução dos entraves pela gestão. CONCLUSÃO: o grau de implantação encontrado relacionou-se à organização dos serviços, com repercussões negativas sobre os indicadores de resultado.

ABSTRACT OBJECTIVE: to assess the implementation of the actions of the Leprosy Control Program in Camaragibe, Pernambuco State, Brazil. METHODS: evaluative research with ‘implementation analysis’, based on criteria, indicators and parameters guided from the construction of the Logic Model; four components were assessed - management, health care, epidemiological surveillance, health education and communication -; direct observation/questionnaire was used, as well as data from the Information System for Notifiable Diseases. RESULTS: the implementation of the program was incipient (58.3%); the estimate for the components varied from ‘not implemented’ (health education and communication, 48.0%), ‘incipient’ (management, 53.3%; health care, 57.2%) to ‘partially implemented’ (epidemiological surveillance, 73.0%); in 2012, it was observed low proportion of examined contacts (28.4%), treatment dropout (34.1%), limited standardization of patient care flow, and poor resolution of problems by managers. CONCLUSION: the level of implementation found was related to the organization of services, with negative repercussions regarding the result indicators.

RESUMEN OBJETIVO: evaluar la implantación de las acciones del Programa de Control de la Hanseniasis en el municipio de Camaragibe, Pernambuco, Brasil. MÉTODOS: investigación evaluativa tipo análisis de implantación, basada en criterios, indicadores y parámetros orientados por construcción del modelo lógico; se analizaron cuatro componentes: gestión, asistencia a salud, vigilancia epidemiológica, educación en salud y comunicación; se utilizó observación directa/cuestionario/datos del Sistema de Información de Agravios de Notificación. RESULTADOS: el grado de implantación del Programa fue incipiente (58,3%); la estimación para los componentes varió entre ‘no implantado’ (educación en salud y comunicación, 48,0%), ‘incipiente’ (gestión, 53,3%; asistencia a salud, 57,2%) y ‘parcialmente implantado’ (vigilancia epidemiológica, 73,0%); en 2012, se observó baja proporción de contactos examinados (28,4%), abandono de tratamiento (34,1%), limitada uniformidad del flujo de atención a pacientes y deficiente resolución de obstáculos mediante soporte de gestión. CONCLUSIÓN: el grado de implantación se relacionó con la organización de servicios, con repercusiones negativas sobre los resultados.

RESUMO OBJETIVO: avaliar a implantação das ações do Programa de Controle da Hanseníase no município de Camaragibe, Pernambuco, Brasil. MÉTODOS: pesquisa avaliativa de tipo ‘análise de implantação’, baseada em critérios, indicadores e parâmetros orientados pela construção do Modelo Lógico; analisaram-se quatro componentes - gestão, assistência à saúde, vigilância epidemiológica, educação em saúde e comunicação. Utilizou-se observação direta/questionário e dados do Sistema de Informação de Agravos de Notificação. RESULTADOS: o grau de implantação do programa foi incipiente (58,3%); a estimativa para os componentes variou entre ‘não implantado’ (educação em saúde e comunicação, 48,0%), ‘incipiente’ (gestão, 53,3%; assistência à saúde, 57,2%) e ‘parcialmente implantado’ (vigilância epidemiológica, 73,0%); para 2012, observou-se baixa proporção de contatos examinados (28,4%), abandono de tratamento (34,1%), limitada uniformização do fluxo de atendimento aos pacientes e deficiente resolução dos entraves pela gestão. CONCLUSÃO: o grau de implantação encontrado relacionou-se à organização dos serviços, com repercussões negativas sobre os indicadores de resultado.

ABSTRACT OBJECTIVE: to assess the implementation of the actions of the Leprosy Control Program in Camaragibe, Pernambuco State, Brazil. METHODS: evaluative research with ‘implementation analysis’, based on criteria, indicators and parameters guided from the construction of the Logic Model; four components were assessed - management, health care, epidemiological surveillance, health education and communication -; direct observation/questionnaire was used, as well as data from the Information System for Notifiable Diseases. RESULTS: the implementation of the program was incipient (58.3%); the estimate for the components varied from ‘not implemented’ (health education and communication, 48.0%), ‘incipient’ (management, 53.3%; health care, 57.2%) to ‘partially implemented’ (epidemiological surveillance, 73.0%); in 2012, it was observed low proportion of examined contacts (28.4%), treatment dropout (34.1%), limited standardization of patient care flow, and poor resolution of problems by managers. CONCLUSION: the level of implementation found was related to the organization of services, with negative repercussions regarding the result indicators.

Spectroscopy associated with chemometrics is a non-destructive method of the samples for the prediction of phenolic compounds. The objective of the work was to apply the near infrared spectroscopy (NIR) technique for the prediction of phenolic compounds and flavonoids in aerial part samples of cover crops plants Raphanus sativus L., Secale cereale L. and Avena strigosa L. Samples were collected at 60, 80 and 100 days after sowing (DAS) of the plants and, after lodging (DAA), at 15 and 30 days, in an experiment implanted in the field, in the city of Ituporanga, Santa Catarina. The samples were homogenized, identified, transported on dry ice, lyophilized, crushed, sieved and stored at -20 °C for analysis. For the calibration, 84 samples were used and for the validation 10 samples. The combination of NIR spectroscopy and multivariate analysis by partial least squares regression allowed the development of prediction models of phenolics and flavonoids with associated errors averaging 10%. NIR spectroscopy is recommended for the development of calibration models because it allows to non-destructive infer phenolic and total flavonoid contents, with high analytical frequency, without the use of reagents and other inputs required by the reference method, with results very close to those obtained in the laboratory.

ABSTRACT Phosphorus (P) applications at dosages higher than the necessary may cause P buildup in the soil labile fractions and, consequently, pollution of water sources. This study aimed to assess accumulation of P fractions as well as the parameters of adsorption isotherms in soil profiles having a history of application of phosphate fertilizers and cultivated with apple trees. Soil samples were collected from an area with no history of cultivation and 2 apple orchards cultivated for 8 (P8) and 18 (P18) years, in the city of Urubici, Santa Catarina, southern Brazil. Soil samples were air dried, sieved in a 2-mm mesh, and subjected to chemical analyses (P adsorption) besides P chemical fractionation. Applications of phosphate fertilizers to the orchards, particularly P18, increased the inorganic and organic concentrations of P in all fractions. The distribution of P in organic and inorganic forms in the planted soils was similar to the distribution observed for the native vegetation soil. The highest inorganic labile P fraction, the lowest maximum P adsorption capacity, and the highest equilibrium concentration values at P18 are indicators of a higher environmental pollution risk of the orchards soils compared to the native soil.

ABSTRACT Nitrogen derived from cover crop residues may contribute to the nutrition of onion grown under minimum tillage (MT) and cultivated in rotation. The aim of this study was to evaluate the N transferred from different cover crop residues to the onion crop cultivated under MT in southern Brazil. In June 2014, oilseed radish, black oat, and oilseed radish + black oat residues labeled with 15N were deposited on the soil surface before transplanting onions. During the growth season and at harvest, young expanded onion leaves, complete plants, and samples from different soil layers were collected and analyzed for recovery of 15N-labeled residue. Oilseed radish decomposed faster than other residues and 4 % of residue N was recovered in leaves and bulbs at harvest, but in general, N in plant organs was derived from sources other than the cover crop residues. In addition, leaf N was in the proper range for all treatments and was adequately mobilized to the bases for bulbing. The N derived from decomposing residues contributed little to onion development and the use of these plants should be chosen based on their advantages for physical and biological soil quality.

RESUMO Objetivo Verificar a queixa subjetiva de memória relacionada com a fluência verbal em idosos participantes de grupos de convivência. Método Trata-se de um estudo epidemiológico, quantitativo, realizado em grupos de convivência de idosos do município de Florianópolis, Estado de Santa Catarina. Os dados foram coletados por meio de entrevista estruturada utilizando-se o Questionário de Queixas de Memória (MAC-Q) e o Teste de Fluência Verbal (TFV) por categorias semânticas animais/minuto. Para a análise descritiva inferencial, consideraram-se os dados com p < 5%. Resultados Foi encontrada a queixa de memória autodeclarada em 35,7% da amostra. Não houve associação e correlação do TFV com a percepção da memória obtida pelo MAC-Q bem como com o seu escore. A análise do TFV com os indivíduos que referiram percepção negativa de memória apresentou significância estatística. Salienta-se que foi encontrada associação significativa entre a percepção (escore do MAC-Q) e a presença da queixa de memória (referida pelos idosos em questão acrescida ao questionário). Conclusão Não houve relação entre a queixa subjetiva de memória e a fluência verbal de idosos ativos, sendo as queixas mnemônicas correlacionadas à percepção negativa da memória e ao tempo de queixa apresentada. Porém a queixa subjetiva da memória se mostrou um indicativo para aqueles indivíduos com percepção negativa da memória, sendo um aspecto que deve ser considerado na fala dos idosos ao se investigar um possível declínio cognitivo. Tais dados podem auxiliar no direcionamento das ações de políticas públicas de assistência às pessoas idosas no município, salientando-se a importância em se verificar a queixa subjetiva de memória dos idosos.

ABSTRACT Purpose To verify subjective memory complaints and their relation to verbal fluency in older people participating in community groups. Methods An epidemiological quantitative study performed in community groups for older people in Florianópolis, state of Santa Catarina, Brazil. Data were collected by structured interview using the Memory Complaint Questionnaire (MAC-Q) and the Verbal Fluency Test (VFT) by semantic categories “animals/minute”. For an inferential descriptive analysis, data with p < 5% were considered. Results Self-reported memory complaints were found in 35.7% of the sample. No association or correlation of VFT with the perception of memory obtained by MAC-Q, nor with its score was found. The VFT analysis of in individuals who reported negative perception of memory presented statistical significance. We found significant association between the perception (MAC-Q score) and presence of memory lapses (reported by the older people in question and added to the questionnaire). Conclusion We found no relation between subjective memory complaints and verbal fluency of active older people. Mnemonic complaints were correlated to the negative perception of memory and to the duration of the complaint. However, subjective memory complaints were an indicator for those individuals with negative perception of memory, being one aspect that must be considered in older people’s speech when investigating a possible cognitive deterioration. Such data can assist in formulating public health care policies aimed at older people in the city, which emphasizes the importance of verifying subjective memory complaints in this population.
