Abstract Strengths and virtues are defined as positive characteristics that have moral value. The objective of this research was to investigate the conception of the students of Integrated Technical High School on strengths and virtues, if there is a difference between the conception between female and male students, how they understand the role of strengths and virtues in the choice and performance of the future technical profession and if the perception of the concept differs from the literature. Participated 21 students, 10 girls and 11 boys from the first year of different courses from a Brazilian public educational institution. Two focus groups were held on different dates. The results showed that conceptions brought by the students are related to characteristics responsible for promoting personal and academic goals for current and future situations to their professional career. The data obtained can contribute to actions, expanding the possibilities of applying positive psychology in the school context as a resource favorable to learning and the development of strengths and virtues. Prospective research can investigate the impact of strengths and virtues with constructions related to the concept investigated in the present study with the use of instruments that can collaborate with qualitative data presented.

Resumen Las fortalezas y virtudes se definen como características positivas que tienen un valor moral.El objetivo fue indagar la concepción de los estudiantes de la Secundaria Técnica Integrada sobre las fortalezas y virtudes, si existe diferencia entre la concepción entre los estudiantes femeninos y masculinos, cómo entienden el papel de las fortalezas y virtudes en la elección y desempeño de las futura profesión técnica y si la percepción del concepto difiere de la literatura. Participaron 21 alumnos, 10 niñas y 11 niños del primer año de diferentes cursos de una institución educativa pública brasileña. Se realizaron dos grupos focales en fechas diferentes. Los resultados mostraron que las concepciones aportadas por los estudiantes están relacionadas con características responsables de promover metas personales y académicas para situaciones actuales y futuras de su carrera profesional. Los datos obtenidos pueden contribuir a acciones, ampliando las posibilidades de aplicar la psicología positiva en el contexto escolar como recurso favorable al aprendizaje y al desarrollo de fortalezas y virtudes. La investigación prospectiva puede investigar el impacto de las fortalezas y virtudes con construcciones relacionadas al concepto investigado en el presente estudio con el uso de instrumentos que puedan colaborar con los datos cualitativos presentados.

RESUMO A permanencia de material obturador após o retratamento pode abrigar bactérias e tecidos orgánicos que podem influenciar o resultado da terapia. Objetivo O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar, por micro-CT, a quantidade de material obturador remanescente no canal radicular após a desobturagdo com WaveOne Gold e ProDesign RT. Material e Método Quarenta caninos inferiores humanos foram instrumentados com o sistema ProTaper Next até o instrumento X2 (25.06) e obturados com cones de guta-percha e AHPlus. Os dentes foram divididos em dois grupos (n=20): WaveOne Gold 25.07 (WOG) e ProDesign RT 25.08 (PRT) e escaneados em micro-CT para quantificagdo do volume de material obturador remanescente. Os dados foram submetidos á transformando log10, o teste t de Student foi realizado para contabilizar múltiplas observagoes por amostra, a significáncia foi fixada em 5%. Resultados O teste t de Student mostrou que ndo houve diferenga no volume de material obturador remanescente entre os dois sistemas nos tergos: apical (p = 0,392), médio (p = 0,065) ou cervical (p = 0,918). Conclusao O material obturador remanescente estavapresente em todos os grupos e ambos os sistemas foram semelhantes na remogdo do material obturador radicular nos caninos inferiores.

ABSTRACT The remaining filling material after retreatment can harbor bacteria and organic tissues that can influence the outcome of the therapy. Aim The aim of this study was to evalúate, by micro-CT, the amount of filling material remaining in the root canal after its removal using WaveOne Gold or ProDesign RT. Material and Method Forty human mandibular canines were instrumented with the ProTaper Next system up to the X2 instrument (25.06) and filled with gutta-percha cones and AHPlus. Teeth were divided into 2 groups (n=20): WaveOne Gold 25.07 (WOG) and ProDesign RT 25.08 (PRT) for filling removal, after which they were scanned in a micro-CT device to quantify the volume of remaining filling material. The data were subjected to log 10 transformation, Student ’s t-test was performed to account for multiple observationsper sample, significance was set at 5%. Results Student ’s t-test showed that there was no difference between the two systems regarding the volume of remaining filling material in the thirds: apical (p = 0.392), middle (p = 0.065), or cervical (p = 0.918). Conclusión Remaining filling material was present in all groups and both systems were similar in removing root filling material in mandibular canines.

ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: Specific types of violence such as intimate partner sexual violence and intimate partner homicide occur more frequently in rural areas. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to systematically review the literature on the knowledge and attitudes of rural healthcare providers regarding cases of domestic violence against women. DESIGN AND SETTING: Systematic review developed at Universidade Federal de Uberlândia. METHODS: We conducted an electronic search of six databases, which only included observational studies, regardless of the year, language, or country of publication, except for studies that used secondary data and were exclusively qualitative. Two reviewers performed the selection, data extraction, and risk of bias assessment using a specific Joanna Briggs Institute tool. RESULTS: Six studies met the inclusion criteria. All the studies had a low risk of bias. Approximately 38% of these professionals identified injuries caused by violence in patients. When asked about knowing the correct attitude to take in cases of confirmed violence, between 12% and 64% of rural healthcare providers answered positively; most of them would refer to specialized institutions and promote victim empowerment and counseling. The number of professionals with an educational background in the field ranged from 16% to 98%. CONCLUSIONS: The evident disparity across studies shows that some professionals have suboptimal knowledge and require training to adopt the correct attitude when identifying female victims of domestic violence in clinical practice. Abstract Dental referrals to the Endodontics Specialty Clinic (ESC) are routine owing to the complexity of endodontic treatments. To obtain a better prognosis for treatment, students/dentists must perceive their technical limits. This study sought to investigate the referrals of patients to the ESC from different clinics of the Piracicaba Dental School, State University of Campinas - SP, Brazil, and check: a) the demographic profile of patients and the most commonly affected tooth; b) the clinic with the largest number of referrals; c) the reasons for referrals; d) the complexity of the cases; e) and the difficulty in assessing the referred cases based on the classification provided by the American Association of Endodontists (AAE) and Souza-Filho. The study sample consisted of patients’ electronic dental referral records from February 2015 to June 2019. A total of 1,707 patients were referred to the ESC during the study period, and 62.4% were female. Lower molars were the most frequently involved teeth (34.8%), and 60.7% of the cases were referred due to the presence of root curvature. The AAE classification showed prevalence of highly difficult cases (71.3%), whereas Souza-Filho classification demonstrated a high rate of class III cases (85.8%). This study highlights the difficulties encountered by undergraduate students before or during endodontic treatments, reinforcing the need for clear criteria for selecting cases appropriate for each education level, thus improving endodontic treatment prognosis. RESUMO OBJETIVO Analisar o impacto do projeto estadual de pesquisa-ação nos indicadores de imunização (coberturas vacinais – CV, homogeneidade de cobertura vacinal – HCV, taxa de abandono – TA e classificação de risco) antes e após a intervenção em municípios e Gerências Regionais de Saúde/Superintendências Regionais de Saúde (GRS/SRS) prioritários. MÉTODOS O projeto estadual de pesquisa-ação foi um ensaio clínico comunitário, do tipo antes-depois, realizado em 212 municípios pertencentes a oito GRS/SRS do estado de Minas Gerais, Brasil. Compuseram a amostra do estudo as SRS/GRS com tendência decrescente para a cobertura vacinal de rotina em crianças menores de 1 ano, no período de 2015 a 2020. Resumen Se buscó verificar si existen diferencias en las tasas de procrastinación, gestión del tiempo y autoeficacia entre estudiantes universitarios cuando se controlan las puntuaciones por sexo o por periodo de formación, y si las puntuaciones de autoeficacia tienen poder predictivo sobre la gestión del tiempo y la procrastinación. Resumo Buscou-se verificar se há diferenças nos índices de procrastinação, gestão do tempo e autoeficácia em estudantes universitários quando os escores são controlados por sexo ou por período da formação, e se os escores de autoeficácia tem poder preditivo sobre a gestão do tempo e a procrastinação. Abstract This study sought to verify whether there are differences in rates of procrastination, time management and self-efficacy among university students when scores are controlled by sex or by period of education, and whether self-efficacy scores have predictive power on time management and procrastination. 800 university students participated in the study. The instruments used were the Academic Procrastination Motives Scale, Time Management Inventory and Self-efficacy Scale in Higher Education. A MANOVA test with post-hoc t tests and a structural equation model were performed. Self-efficacy was able to successfully predict procrastination and time management behaviors. A higher rate of procrastination behavior was identified among women at the end of the course when compared to beginners, and a lower rate of procrastination among male students than among female ones. Abstract The study aimed to investigate the impact of the explanatory variable Character Strengths on the criterion variable Maturity for Professional Choice and to compare the behavior of the variables by gender and type of institution. RESUMO O estudo teve como objetivo comparar estudantes repetentes e não repetentes em relação às variáveis apoio social, autoeficácia acadêmica e adaptação acadêmica e verificar o quanto as variáveis apoio social e autoeficácia são capazes de predizer a adaptação ao ensino superior de estudantes que apresentam histórico de reprovação. Abstract The study aimed to compare repeating and non-repeating students concerning the academic self-efficacy and academic adaptation variables and to verify how the social support and self-efficacy variables can predict the adaptation to Higher Education of students who have a history of reproval. Participants were 644 students, divided into those with a history of repetition or not. Abstract This study aimed to evaluate the viability of using wooden breast (WB) chicken fillets in the production of hamburgers and bologna. Fillets (pectoralis major) were collected from a commercial slaughterhouse and classified as normal (no visible alteration) or WB (with characteristic visual alterations) by a trained specialist. The quality parameters and physical, chemical, and technological stability of the resulting meat products during the storage period, at 1, 30, 60, and 90 days from production were evaluated. Hamburgers with WB showed a significant increase of 2.38% in moisture content and a reduction of 17% in protein content, whereas bologna showed an increase of 1.15% in moisture content. The inclusion of WB meat did not influence the yield and stability of these products, but resulted in higher pH and softer hamburgers with greater lipid oxidation. The results suggest that the manufacture of meat products with a lower percentage of WB meat in their formulation is a viable alternative to minimize costs and reduce economic losses generated by the incidence of the anomaly. ABSTRACT The study investigated the social skills (SS) present in interactions among characters in children’s books. The sample consisted of 77 works. Se investigaron las dinámicas operativas y las prácticas de gestión utilizadas en las viviendas universitarias públicas brasileñas. Doce gestores de viviendas participaron de la investigación. Se realizaron entrevistas semiestructuradas. El análisis se realizó a través de la Clasificación Jerárquica Descendente (Iramuteq), resultando dos ejes y cuatro clases. Abstract The management of dormitories implies overcoming challenges related to physical, human, and financial resources to guarantee decent housing conditions. This research sought to identify the operating dynamics and map management practices used in Brazilian public university housing. Twelve housing managers from the five Brazilian regions participated in this research. Semi-structured interviews were conducted. The analysis was performed via the Descending Hierarchical Classification (Iramuteq), resulting in two axes and four classes. Resumen: Las habilidades de gestión del tiempo proporcionan una buena herramienta en la superación de la dilación y en la gestión de tareas. Estos, a su vez, son dos problemas que están presentes en la vida de muchos estudiantes de educación superior. La mala gestión del tiempo puede resultar en una relación desequilibrada con las responsabilidades académicas, lo que puede conducir a un aumento del estrés. La falta de planificación de las actividades, la toma de un número de tareas excesivo para sí y la ausencia de estrategias para la eliminación de distracciones pueden minar el bienestar en la vida académica. Estas prácticas pueden remediarse adoptando estrategias de gestión del tiempo. Con el fin de divulgar y fomentar tales estrategias, se elaboraron talleres online. Participaron en los talleres un total de 17 estudiantes, de los cuales 12 presentaron mejoras en su relación con la gestión del tiempo, dos de estos presentaron cambios positivos particularmente notables. Se concluye a partir de estos resultados que tales intervenciones pueden ser de gran valor y que incluso con intervenciones breves es posible obtener resultados que confirmen la mejora en las habilidades de gestión del tiempo de los participantes.

Abstract: Those who make use of time management skills find them to be a useful tool for the purpose of overcoming procrastination tendencies and fostering better task management. These two matters - procrastination and task management - are two issues of considerable relevance in the lives of many university students. Poor time management skills can result in an unbalanced relationship with one’s academic responsibilities, resulting in an increase in stress levels. Uneven distribution of tasks throughout the week, procrastination, task overload and the absence of strategies for eliminating distractions are some of the possible means through which a student can undermine their own well-being as it relates to academic life. These bad practices may be remedied by adopting time management strategies. With the purpose of fostering such strategies, two online workshops were developed. A total of 17 students participated in the intervention, of whom, 12 showed improvements in their time management skills, with two displaying particularly remarkable positive changes. From these results, it was concluded that these interventions can be of great value, and that, despite the interventions being brief, it is possible to obtain results that lead to the improvement of participants’ time management skills.

Resumo: As habilidades de gestão do tempo fornecem àquele que se utiliza delas uma boa ferramenta na superação da procrastinação e na gestão de tarefas. Estes, por sua vez, são dois problemas que estão presentes na vida de muitos estudantes do Ensino Superior. Má gestão do tempo pode resultar em uma relação desequilibrada com as responsabilidades acadêmicas, o que pode levar a um aumento do estresse. A falta de planejamento das atividades, a tomada de um número de tarefas excessivo para si e a ausência de estratégias para eliminação de distratores podem minar o bem-estar na vida acadêmica. Tais práticas podem ser remediadas pela adoção de estratégias de gestão do tempo. Com o fim de divulgar e fomentar tais estratégias, foram elaboradas oficinas em formato online. Participaram das oficinas um total de 17 estudantes, dos quais, 12 apresentaram melhoras na sua relação com a gestão do tempo e, destes, dois apresentaram mudanças positivas particularmente notáveis. Conclui-se a partir destes resultados que tais intervenções podem ser de grande valia, e que mesmo com intervenções breves é possível obter resultados que confirmem a melhora nas habilidades de gestão do tempo dos participantes.
