RESUMO A fruticultura, especialmente na agricultura familiar, possui grande potencial de renda em pequenas áreas, mas as mudanças climáticas são um grande desafio. Objetivou-se quantificar a demanda de irrigação para citros, mamão, manga e maracujá, na região do Vão do Paranã, Goiás. Os dados climáticos compreenderam os períodos observados de 1961 a 2020 e cenários futuros de 2021 a 2100. A demanda por irrigação foi obtida com base no balanço hídrico diário, enquanto a evapotranspiração de referência (ETo) foi estimada pelo método de Penman-Monteith e então comparada com uma ferramenta de inteligência artificial. Os cenários futuros indicaram aumento da temperatura do ar, em maior intensidade, e de chuvas, em menor intensidade. A ETo passou de 1.528 mm ano−1, em 1991-2020, para 1.614-1.656 mm ano−1, em 2021-2050. O desempenho da inteligência artificial na estimativa da ETo foi limitado, com erro médio absoluto de 0,71 mm dia−1 e r de 0,59, quando considerada a temperatura do ar como dado de entrada. Para o período de 2021-2050, em relação a 1991-2020, houve aumento na demanda por irrigação, em que, no cenário extremo, os citros atingiram 690 mm ano−1 (+11 %%); mamão (+10 %%) e maracujá (+5 °%) ultrapassaram 800 mm ano−1; e a manga chegou a 491 mm ano−1 (+14 %). ABSTRACT Fruit growing, especially in family farming, has a significant income potential in small areas, but climate change is a major challenge. This study aimed to quantify the irrigation requirements for citrus, papaya, mango and passion fruit, in the Vão do Paranã region, Goiás state, Brazil. The climate data encompassed the observed periods from 1961 to 2020 and future scenarios from 2021 to 2100. The irrigation demand was obtained from the daily water balance, while the reference evapotranspiration (ETo) was estimated using the Penman-Monteith method and then compared with an artificial intelligence tool. The future scenarios indicated a higher increase for air temperature and a lower increase for rainfall. The ETo levels raised from 1,528 mm year1, in 1991-2020, to 1,614-1,656 mm year1, in 2021-2050. The artificial intelligence performance was limited in the ETo estimation, with a mean absolute error of 0.71 mm day−1 and an “r” value of 0.59, when considering the air temperature as the input variable. For the 2021-2050 period, when compared with 1991-2020, there was an increase in irrigation demand, in which, under the extreme scenario, the citrus demand reached 690 mm year−1 (+11 %); papaya (+10 %) and passion fruit (+5 %) surpassed 800 mm year−1; and mango reached 491 mm year−1 (+14 %). Resumo O Brasil é indiscutivelmente um dos maiores players do agronegócio da atualidade, possui uma agropecuária competitiva, uma agroindústria pujante e instituições sólidas. As exportações em 2018 desse segmento da economia brasileira ultrapassaram US$ 85 bi, sendo o complexo carnes responsável por US$ 14,7 bi. No entanto, o Brasil sofre pressões internas e externas, o que afeta as expectativas dos agentes e gera grandes ruídos para os produtores, especialmente aos exportadores. Diante disso, o objetivo desse artigo é o de analisar se as séries de exportações de carne bovina, em moeda (US$) e em volume comercializado (Kg), para os principais destinos apresentam persistência aos choques. Especificamente, busca testar a presença de memória longa nas séries, verificar a existência de quebra estrutural nos dados e identificar se há heterogeneidade no comportamento das séries. A metodologia está baseada na econometria de Séries Temporais, especificamente no teste de long memory de Robinson (1995a) para a identificação do grau de persistência aos choques. Os resultados apontaram que as séries possuem memória longa, evidenciando assim que o mercado exportador brasileiro de carne bovina é consolidado internacionalmente e que os choques exógenos não afetam de forma persistente e permanente as exportações.

Abstract Brazil is undoubtedly one of the biggest players in agribusiness today, and has a competitive agricultural sector, a strong agroindustry and solid institutions. Exports in 2018 of this segment of the Brazilian economy exceeded US$ 85 billion, and the meat complex accounted for US$ 14.7 billion. However, Brazil suffers internal and external pressures, which affect the expectations of agents and generates great noises for the producers, especially the exporters. In this regard, the objective of this article is to analyze whether the series of exports of beef, in currency (US$) and in commercialized (pound), to the main destinations present persistence to shocks. Specifically, we seek to test for the presence of long memory in the series, to verify the existence of a structural break in the data and to identify if there is heterogeneity in the behavior of the series. The methodology is based on the Econometrics of Time Series, specifically on the long memory test of Robinson (1995a) to identify the degree of persistence to shocks. The results showed that the series have long memory, thus showing that the Brazilian beef export market is consolidated internationally and that exogenous shocks do not persistently and permanently affect exports.

Tendo como pano de fundo o grande crescimento da pecuária de corte no Brasil e o substancial avanço observado nas exportações de carne bovina, este estudo teve como objetivo principal identificar os fatores responsáveis pelo excelente desempenho que vem tendo esse segmento do agronegócio. Para a condução deste trabalho, fez-se necessária a construção de um modelo teórico capaz de dar suporte à especificação do modelo econométrico ajustado utilizando a metodologia de Autorregressão Vetorial com identificação pelo processo de Bernanke. Os resultados obtidos mostram que o principal determinante do crescimento do produto pecuário e das exportações de carne bovina brasileira é o aumento do estoque de animais. Também a produtividade afeta positivamente a produção e as exportações de carne bovina, porém de forma mais modesta. Os resultados indicam que o aumento do rebanho bovino reduz tanto os preços ao produtor como os do varejo de carne bovina.

With the considerable growth of beef production in Brazil and the growth in beef exports as a backdrop, the main objective of this study is to identify the factors responsible for the excellent performance of this agribusiness sector. Conducting this study required the construction of a theoretical model that was capable of supporting the specification of the adjusted econometric model using vector autoregression with identification by the Bernanke process. The findings show that the main determinant of beef cattle growth and Brazilian beef exports is increased animal stock. Furthermore, productivity has a positive, albeit more modest, effect on beef production and exports. The results show that the increase of the number of cattle reduces costs to the farmer and retail beef prices.
