RESUMO Objetivo Realizar a adaptação transcultural do Instrumento de Rastreio para a Disfonia (IRD-Br) para o Português Europeu (PE). Métodos Foi realizada a adaptação transcultural do IRD-Br para o PE de acordo com as seguintes etapas: tradução, retrotradução, análise de um comitê de especialistas e pré-teste. Na etapa de pré-teste, participaram 30 indivíduos disfônicos com idades entre os 18 e 87 anos, sendo 24 do sexo feminino e 6 do sexo masculino. Resultados Foi necessária a inserção de um enunciado na versão em PE do instrumento. Houve divergência na retrotradução do título, sendo resolvida na análise do comitê de especialistas. Um item apresentou divergência na tradução e na retrotradução, sendo definida a versão final na análise do comitê de especialistas. Um item e a chave de resposta apresentaram consenso em todas as etapas. No pré-teste, todos os itens receberam 100% de respostas sim ou não, e nenhum recebeu resposta não aplicável. ABSTRACT Purpose To perform a cross-cultural adaptation of the Brazilian Dysphonia Screening Tool (DST-Br) for European Portuguese (EP). Methods The cross-cultural adaptation of the DST-Br for EP was carried out in four stages: translation, back-translation, expert committee review, and pre-testing. The pre-testing involved 30 dysphonic individuals (24 women and 6 men) aged between 18 and 87 years old. Results An additional statement was required in the EP version of the instrument. RESUMO Objetivo Investigar se existem diferenças nas medidas acústicas cepstrais e espectrais entre mulheres com disfonia comportamental com e sem lesão laríngea, bem como verificar se existe correlação entre tais medidas e o julgamento perceptivo-auditivo da qualidade vocal. Método Participaram 78 mulheres com disfonia comportamental sem lesão laríngea (DCSL) e 68 com disfonia comportamental com lesão laríngea (nódulos vocais) (DCCL). ABSTRACT. Purslanes are frequently used in Brazil as potted plants and for landscaping because of their beautiful colored flowers. Despite their commercial importance, the genetic diversity within ornamental purslane remains largely unknown. Thus, a complete characterization of ornamental purslane resources is essential for its utilization since genetic variability is indispensable for the efficient development of new cultivars. This study aimed to evaluate genetic variability and recommend accessions to start a genetic breeding program for purslane (Portulaca umbraticola). Twenty purslane accessions were collected in public places in Areia City and Santa Rita City, Paraiba State, Brazil. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse. An entirely randomized experimental design with 20 accessions and 5 replicates was utilized. Plants were evaluated for quantitative and qualitative traits. Data were submitted to analysis of variance and grouped by Scott-Knott’s criteria (p ≤ 0.05). The accessions were grouped using Tocher’s method based on the generalized Mahalanobis distance. Principal component analysis was also used to analyze the genetic divergence. There were significant differences (p ≤ 0.05) for all evaluated traits except for internode distance, plant height, and leaf length. The Scott-Knott criteria clustered the accessions into two groups for all traits except days to flowering (five groups). Tocher’s grouping based on Mahalanobis distance allowed the accessions to be separated into eight clusters. The genetic diversity observed in this study was supported by the consonance between the Tocher cluster method and the PC analyses. The traits that most contributed to genetic divergence among accessions were days to flowering (70.37%), flower length (6.10%), leaf width (3.89%), branch number (3.57%), and stem length (3.36%). Considering the criteria for use in outdoor spaces, wider plants with several large colored flowers, thicker stems, greener leaves, and earliness were interesting. Accessions 5, 7, 13, 14, 16, 18, and 20 should be selected as parents for further breeding programs. However, if the objective is to produce potted plants, dwarf plants with bigger leaves are desired, and accession 1 should be selected. This will create greater variability in segregating populations, which will increase the overall quality of ornamental use of this species. Abstract Introduction The time elapsed from diagnosis to hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is influenced by numerous factors. In Brazil, patients using the public health system are also dependent on the availability of HSCT-specific beds in the hematology ward. Objective and Methods We conducted a cohort study of listed patients who underwent allogeneic HSCT at a Brazilian public hospital to investigate the impact of the waitlist time on post-HSCT survival. Results The median time from diagnosis to HSCT was 19 months (IQR, 10 - 43), of which 6 months (IQR, 3 - 9) were spent on the waitlist. The time on the waitlist for HSCT appeared to influence mainly the survival of adult patients (≥ 18 years), with an increasing risk according to this time (RR, 3.53 and 95%CI, 1.81 - 6.88 for > 3 and ≤ 6 months; RR 5.86 and 95%CI, 3.26 - 10.53 for > 6 and ≤ 12 months, and; RR 4.24 and 95%CI, 2.32 - 7.75 for > 12 months). O objetivo deste trabalho foi investigar a tolerância de plantas de Alcantarea imperialis a diferentes temperaturas. Esta espécie é nativa de inselbergs onde as temperaturas diárias variam de 5 a 40 °C. Plantas com três meses de idade foram mantidas a 15 °C, 25 °C, 37 °C e 37 °C/15 °C (dia/noite) durante 15 dias. Foram medidas as atividades da glutamina sintetase (GS), glutamato desidrogenase (GDH), teor de amônio, crescimento e parâmetros fotossintéticos (pigmentos e relação Fv/Fm). Apenas 40% das plantas sob temperatura constante de 37 °C sobreviveram, mostrando um aumento na concentração de amônio e na atividade de GDH, enquanto o conteúdo de pigmento fotossintético, a relação Fv/Fm e a atividade de GS diminuíram. ABSTRACT (Daily temperature amplitude plays a key role in the metabolic adaptation to high-temperature stress in the rupicolous bromeliad Alcantarea imperialis (Carrière) Harms). Climatic variations predicted for a future scenario may influence nitrogen metabolism, affecting the survival of plants in the face of climate change. The objective of this work was to investigate the tolerance of plants of Alcantarea imperialis to different temperatures. This species is native from inselbergs where daily temperatures vary from 5 to 40 °C. Three-month-old plants were kept at 15 °C, 25 °C, 37 °C and 37 °C/15 °C (day/night) for 15 days. The activities of glutamine synthetase (GS), glutamate dehydrogenase (GDH), ammonium content, growth and photosynthetic parameters (pigments and Fv/Fm ratio) were measured. Only 40% of plants under constant 37 °C survived, showing an increase in the ammonium concentration and GDH activity while photosynthetic pigment content, Fv/Fm ratio and GS activity decreased. All plants under other temperatures survived without damage. This result showed that cool nights are necessary for the plant to recover from the stress of the high diurnal temperature. Abstract The aim of the study was to evaluate the use of Acustic Radiation Force Impulse (ARFI) elastography in mammary parenchyma and supramammary lymph nodes, for detection of active mastitis in sheep with naturally infected chronic fibrous lesions. 27 female sheep were included and B-mode ultrasound and ARFI elastography images were obtained, acquiring qualitative (echogenicity and echotexture) and quantitative (shear rate, depth and short/long axis ratio) variables of 48 mammary glands. The glands were divided into three experimental groups: control group (CG) - healthy animals; LSCC- animals that presented fibrous lesions and SCC (somatic cell count) less than 500 x 103 cls/mL; HSCC: animals that presented fibrous lesions and SCC (somatic cell count) more than 500 x 103 cls/mL; The qualitative variables using B-mode ultrasonography, including echotexture and echogenicity, showed no significant differences between the evaluated groups and tissues (p = 0.9336 and p = 0.233, respectively) .In healthy areas of the gland, it was an increasing in shear wave velocity (SWV) in LSCC than in HSCC (p=0.04). ARFI elastography indicates potential cutoff points for differentiating subclinical mastitis from healed mastitis, highlighting its importance as a tool for distinguishing normal areas from fibrous parenchymal areas. Abstract Sampling deep-sea biota is a significant challenge because of the logistics required, in terms of vessels and equipment, to obtain minimally preserved specimens. Traditional methods (trawls, nets, and dredges) cause physical damage, stress, and even contamination during the process of removal from the seabed and their displacement through the water column to the surface. Preserving conditions similar to those found in situ is particularly important when the sampling strives to maintain living organisms and for analyses where contamination or degradation by stress or damage may interfere with the results. RESUMO Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar as relações simbólicas entre os professores formadores do curso de Licenciatura em Química dos Institutos Federais de Santa Catarina a partir das disposições incorporadas ao longo da trajetória pessoal, acadêmica e profissional (habitus e capitais). Para alcançar esse objetivo proposto, definiu-se como instrumentos para construção dos dados de pesquisa a entrevista semiestruturada e a análise documental. Foram realizadas entrevistas com 7 professores formadores que atuam nos cursos de Licenciatura em Química dos Institutos Federais de Santa Catarina. Por sua vez, a análise documental obteve dados a partir do currículo lattes desses docentes entrevistados e de informações sobre a distribuição da carga horária desses professores formadores, disponíveis nos sites dos Institutos Federias em que eles atuam. ABSTRACT This article aims to analyze the symbolic relationships between the teacher educators of the Degree in Chemistry at the Federal Institutes of Santa Catarina - Brazil based on provisions incorporated throughout their personal, academic, and professional trajectory (habitus and capitals). To achieve this proposed objective, semi-structured interviews and document analysis were defined as instruments for the construction of research data. Interviews were conducted with 7 teacher educators who work in the Degree of Chemistry at the Federal Institutes of Santa Catarina - Brazil. Abstract The aim of this study was to evaluate and correlate modifications of vaginal mucous impedance, vulvar temperature and ultrasonographic measurements (echobiometric parameters) to parturition in pregnant Saanen does. 30 does were selected for the study and submitted to an estrus synchronization protocol and natural mating. The females were evaluated daily from Day 143 of pregnancy to parturition. For the sonographic evaluations, the following structures were measured: biparietal diameter, thoracic diameter, abdominal diameter, ocular orbit, kidney length, kidney height, cardiac area, placentome length, cervical measurement and fetal heart rate; by means of two different approaches: transrectal and transabdominal, using a 7.5 MHz linear transducer. The vaginal mucous impedance was assessed using an electric estrous detector and vulvar temperature was measured using a non-contact infrared thermometer. Resumo: O conhecimento da variabilidade genética e das variáveis para avaliação de linhagens de feijoeiro para a característica de qualidade fisiológica de sementes, é importante para a seleção de genótipos de feijão promissores, para esta característica, em programas de melhoramento. Por meio da análise multivariada, objetivou-se neste estudo, avaliar a eficiência de testes físicos e fisiológicos para estudos de variabilidade genética em sementes de linhagens de feijão comum. Foram avaliadas vinte linhagens de feijão comum quanto à massa de mil sementes, primeira contagem, germinação, tetrazólio, condutividade elétrica, envelhecimento acelerado, emergência em campo e desempenho de plântulas. Os dados experimentais foram submetidos à análise de variância, parâmetros genéticos e a análise multivariada de componentes principais. Verificou-se a existência de variabilidade genética entre as linhagens de feijão e a identificação de dois grupos de linhagens com desempenho fisiológico superior de acordo com os testes de germinação e de vigor de sementes. Abstract: Knowledge of the genetic variability and of the variables for evaluating common bean lines for the physiological seed quality trait is important for the selection of promising common bean genotypes for this trait in breeding programs. Through multivariate analysis, the objective of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of physical and physiological tests for studies of genetic variability in seeds of common bean lines. Twenty lines of common bean were evaluated for thousand-seed weight, first count, germination, tetrazolium, electrical conductivity, accelerated aging, field emergence and seedling performance. The experimental data were subjected to analysis of variance, analysis of genetic parameters and multivariate analysis of principal components. Estratégia de pesquisa trata-se de uma revisão de escopo baseada na questão de pesquisa: “Quais as medidas de avaliação vocal utilizadas para verificar o efeito da intervenção em indivíduos vocalmente saudáveis?” A busca foi realizada de forma eletrônica nas bases de dados MEDLINE (PubMed), LILACS (BVS), Scopus (Elsevier), Web of Science (Clarivate), Embase e Cochrane. Critérios de seleção a seleção dos estudos foi baseada na leitura dos títulos, resumos, palavras-chave e textos completos, aplicando-se os critérios de elegibilidade. ABSTRACT Purpose to map the vocal assessment measures used to verify the effect of the intervention in vocally healthy individuals. Research strategy This is a scope review based on the research question: What vocal assessment measures are used to verify the effect of the intervention in vocally healthy individuals? The search was carried out electronically in MEDLINE (PubMed), LILACS (BVS), Scopus (Elsevier), Web of Science (Clarivate), Embase and Cochrane databases. Selection criteria The selection of studies was based on reading the titles, abstracts, keywords and full texts, applying the eligibility criteria. Data related to the publication’s bibliographic information, sample and intervention characteristics, the effects of the intervention on self-assessment, auditory-perceptual, acoustic, aerodynamic, electroglottographic measures, laryngeal examination results, among others, were extracted. The data were summarized and presented in a quantitative and descriptive way. Results 97 articles were selected, among the 979 studies mapped in this review. Resumen Este artículo propone una reflexión sobre Brasil y sus trabajos análogos a la esclavitud que han sido ampliamente llevados a cabo dentro de las prácticas empresariales del capital global y es un tema poco explorado en la investigación en Administración. En este sentido, el objetivo principal del artículo es analizar el desenvolvimiento de trabajos análogos a la esclavitud en el siglo XXI. Abstract This article proposes a reflection on Brazil and its works analogous to slavery that has been widely used within the business practices of global capital and is a topic little explored in administration research. The article analyzes the unfolding of works analogous to slavery in the 21st century. This qualitative study consists of a bibliographic and documentary research based on the perspective of dialectical and historical materialism. It analyzes secondary data from infraction notices from the Ministry of Labor and Welfare, the ministry’s list of companies engaged in slave labor, and data from Radar SIT (statistics and information dashboard of labor inspection in Brazil) between 1995 and 2022. In addition, this study collected information from journalistic articles that portrayed inspections of modern slave labor, thus enabling examples of this practice in contemporary times. Abstract The aim of this study was to investigate uterine involution using ultrasonography techniques during postpartum. Postpartum ultrasonography evaluation (B-mode, color Doppler and Acoustic Radiation Force Impulse elastography) of the uterus was performed by transabdominal approach at immediate after birth and sequentially every 48 hours, during 30 days. The uterine echotexture did not present significant variations (P >0.05) being homogeneous in most evaluations; echogenicity of the uterus increased along the evaluation period (P =0.0452). Progressive and remarkable decrease of the total uterine diameter (UD) were observed (P <0.0001), especially during the first days postpartum. The thickness of uterine wall gradually decreased, as well the endometrial, myometrium and lumen diameters (P <0.0001). Uterine blood flow was assessed by Doppler and decreased during postpartum period, being significantly lower (P=0.0225) on the 30th day of postpartum. Uterine parenchyma presented as homogeneous dark areas (not deformable) on qualitative ultrasound elastography and the means shear velocity values of the uterine wall on quantitative elastography did not differ. RESUMO Objetivo: Descrever, na ótica dos direitos humanos à água e ao esgotamento sanitário (DHAES), o acesso à água e a incidência de doenças de veiculação hídrica na região atingida pelo rompimento da barragem da Mina B1 em Brumadinho (MG). Métodos: Utilizou-se a metodologia quantitativa e qualitativa, tendo como variáveis, em ambos os métodos, informações sobre o acesso à água e as doenças de veiculação hídrica. Os dados primários foram extraídos do Projeto de Saúde Brumadinho, sendo aqui utilizado um estrato amostral com 981 pessoas entrevistadas, totalizando 92,5% da população elegível das comunidades atingidas de Córrego do Feijão e Parque da Cachoeira. Os dados secundários de Brumadinho foram coletados pelo Projeto Condições de Saneamento e Saúde da População da Bacia do Rio Paraopeba, a Jusante da Barragem B1 da Mineradora Vale, entre 2017 e 2020, em banco de dados públicos entre 2017 e 2020, e os dados qualitativos foram coletados em 2022 por meio de entrevistas individuais com profissionais de saúde residentes nas comunidades atingidas. Resultados: No tocante ao acesso à água, a análise combinada dos dados apontou que os DHAES estão sendo negligenciados na região, de maneira especial no que se refere à disponibilidade, acessibilidade física, aceitabilidade e qualidade da água. Observou-se também que houve aumento significativo na incidência das doenças de veiculação hídrica na região após o desastre. ABSTRACT Objective: To describe, within the Human Rights to Water and Sanitation (HRWS) framework, the access to water supply services and the incidence of waterborne diseases in the communities affected by the dam disaster in Brumadinho (MG), Brazil. Methods: A quantitative and qualitative methodology was used, having as variables information on access to water supply services and waterborne diseases. The primary data were extracted from the “Brumadinho Health Project”, using a sample stratum with 981 people interviewed, totaling 92.5% of the eligible population in the affected communities of Córrego do Feijão and Parque da Cachoeira. The secondary data from Brumadinho was extracted from the project “Sanitation conditions and the River Basin of the B1 River Basin of Mineradora Vale between 2017 and 2020”, available in public databases between 2017 and 2020, and qualitative data was collected in 2022 through individual interviews with health professional also live in the communities. Results: With regard to access to water supply services, the results of this combined data analysis indicate that the HRWS is being neglected, especially with regard to availability, accessibility, acceptability and quality of water.
