Resumo A erosão hídrica é uma das principais formas de degradação do solo, causando danos econômicos, ambientais e sociais. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar o efeito de diferentes estágios de formação de voçorocas (inicial - IG; juvenil - JG; maduro - MG; e senil - SG) nos atributos químicos, matéria orgânica e microbiológicos do solo, utilizando uma floresta secundária (SF) e duas áreas de pastagem como referência no ambiente “Mar de Morros” do bioma Mata Atlântica brasileira. Amostras de solo (profundidade 0-0,05 m) foram coletadas no final das estações chuvosa e seca. As voçorocas em diferentes estágios de formação promoveram diminuição da fertilidade do solo e modificação dos atributos microbiológicos, principalmente quando comparados com a área de floresta secundária. Reduções de mais de 60% no carbono orgânico total (TOC), carbono orgânico oxidável (POXC), atividade da FDA, β-glicosidase, fosfatase ácida, C (MBC) e N (MBN) da biomassa microbiana, respiração basal do solo (BSR) e proteína do solo relacionada à glomalina (GRSP) foram observados em voçorocas nos estágios inicial (IG) e intermediário (JG e MG) quando comparados ao SF. Verificou-se que o efeito da erosão sobre os atributos químicos e microbiológicos do solo é mais intenso em voçorocas nos estágios inicial e intermediário em comparação com ao senil (SG). Usando a multivariada PCA, os atributos microbiológicos e químicos do solo discriminaram as voçorocas com distintos estágios de formação. Os atributos químicos, TOC, POXC, atividade FDA, β-glicosidase, fosfatase ácida, MBC and MBN, SBR e GRSP são bons indicadores para avaliar o processo de estabilização da erosão em voçorocas.

Abstract Water erosion is one of the main forms of soil degradation, causing economic, environmental, and social damage. This study evaluated the effects of different formation stages of gullies (initial - IG; juvenile- JG; mature - MG; and senile - SG) on the chemical, organic carbon and microbiological attributes of soil, using a secondary forest (SF) and two areas of pasture as references in the “Mar de Morros” environment of the Brazilian Atlantic Forest biome. Soil samples (depth 0-0.05 m) were collected at the end of the rainy and dry seasons. Gullies in different stages of formation promote a decrease in soil fertility and modification of microbiological attributes, particularly when compared with secondary forest areas. Reductions of over 60% in total organic carbon (TOC), oxidizable organic carbon (POXC), FDA activity, β-glycosidase, acid phosphatase, C and N from microbial biomass, basal soil respiration (BSR) and glomalin-related soil protein (GRSP) were observed in gullies in early (IG) and intermediate (JG and MG) stages when compared to SF. It was found that the effect of erosion on soil chemical and microbiological attributes is more intense in gullies in the initial and intermediate stages compared with those in the senile stage (SG). Using multivariate PCA, the microbiological and chemical attributes of the soil are discriminated between gullies with distinct formation stages. Chemical attributes, TOC, POXC, FDA activity, β-glycosidase, acid phosphatase, MBC and MBN, BSR, and GRSP are good indicators for evaluating the process of erosion stabilization in gullies.

Abstract This study aimed to evaluate enzyme activity, glomalin-related soil proteins (GRSP), soil chemical attributes, and total organic carbon (TOC) in two Agroforestry systems (AFS) (AFS-1 and AFS-2), in a traditional agriculture area (TA), and secondary forest (SF) area in Paraty (RJ). Soil samples (from 0 to 5 cm depth) were collected during the rainy and dry seasons. AFS improves and/or maintains soil chemical indicators based on pH increase, reduces aluminum saturation and maintains soil nutrient content (Ca, Mg and K), when compared with SF. The contribution of organic material and the biodiversity of the AFS provide the maintenance of the total organic carbon content of the soil. AFS maintain the activity of the enzymes protease, β-glucosidase, acid phosphatase, and total enzyme activity (FDA), and the production of glomalin-related soil protein at levels similar to those observed in SF, especially during the rainy season.

Resumo: O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o efeito do uso de escória de siderurgia como corretivo da acidez do solo e de fungos micorrízicos associados à adubação fosfatada em plantas de milho. O trabalho foi conduzido em casa de vegetação, tendo-se utilizado vasos com 3 kg de Latossolo Vermelho distrófico, em arranjo fatorial 4x5x2, com quatro tratamentos corretivos da acidez (C1, correção com calcário dolomítico na dosagem de 4 Mg ha-1; C2, correção com escória de siderurgia de aciaria na dosagem de 4 Mg ha-1; C3, correção com a mistura 1:1 de 2 Mg ha-1 de calcário dolomítico e 2 Mg ha-1 de escória; e C4, controle, sem correção de pH), cinco doses de fósforo (0, 42, 95, 213 e 480 mg dm-3), e presença ou ausência de dois fungos micorrízicos arbusculares (Rhizophagus clarus e Gigaspora margarita), com cinco repetições. A escória foi eficiente em corrigir o pH do solo e fornecer Ca e Mg para as plantas; portanto, pode substituir o calcário. A inoculação com R. clarus e G. margarita, associada às doses de 42, 95 e 213 mg dm-3 de P, promoveu melhoras no desenvolvimento de plantas de milho após 45 dias, tendo resultado em maiores altura, diâmetro do colo, área foliar e matéria seca das raízes e da parte aérea das plantas.

Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of the use of steel slag as a soil acidity corrective and of mycorrhizal fungi associated with phosphate fertilization on corn plants. The study was performed in a greenhouse, using 3-kg pots with a Typic Haplorthox, in a 4x5x2 factorial arrangement, with four acidity correction treatments (C1, correction with dolomitic limestone at a dose of 4 Mg ha-1; C2, correction with steel slag at a dose of 4 Mg ha-1; C3, correction with a 1:1 mixture of 2 Mg ha-1 dolomitic limestone and 2 Mg ha-1 steel slag; and C4, control, without pH correction), five phosphorus doses (0, 42, 95, 213, and 480 mg dm-3), and the presence or absence of two arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (Rhizophagus clarus and Gigaspora margarita), with five replicates. Steel slag was efficient in correcting soil pH and providing Ca and Mg for the plants; therefore, it could replace limestone. The inoculation with R. clarus and G. margarita, associated with P doses of 42, 95, and 213 mg dm-3, improved the development of corn plants after 45 days, resulting in greater plant height, stem diameter, leaf area, and shoot and root dry matter.

RESUMO Esse estudo avaliou a influência dos sistemas agroflorestais e da agricultura tradicional sobre os atributos físicos e biológicos do solo, utilizando como referência uma área de floresta nativa em Paraty, RJ. Foram analisados os teores do carbono orgânico total do solo e suas frações oxidáveis, a estabilidade dos agregados, além da atividade e os teores de carbono e nitrogênio da biomassa microbiana do solo, na camada de 0-5 cm, em duas épocas (seca e chuvosa) distintas. Os sistemas agroflorestais e a agricultura tradicional mantêm níveis elevados de carbono orgânico total e seu armazenamento em frações mais estáveis. Quando comparados à área de Floresta, esses sistemas proporcionam as mesmas condições para a agregação do solo. A biomassa microbiana foi mais responsiva as variações de manejo e sazonalidade. A implantação de sistemas agroflorestais contribui para a formação de uma matriz agrícola mais diversificada, promovendo melhorias na qualidade do solo e conexão com os remanescentes florestais próximos.

ABSTRACT In the present study, we evaluated the influence of agroforestry systems and traditional agriculture on the physical attributes and biologicals of soil, using as reference a native forest area in Paraty, RJ. Levels of total soil organic carbon, as well as oxidizable fractions and aggregate stability, were analyzed, in addition to the activity and carbon and nitrogen content in the soil microbial biomass, in the 0-5 cm layer, in two distinct seasons (dry and rainy seasons). The agroforestry systems and traditional agriculture maintain high levels of total organic carbon and its storage in more stable fractions. These systems provide the same conditions as those of the forest area for the aggregation of the soil. The microbial biomass was more responsive to variations in management and seasonality. The deployment of agroforestry systems contributes to the formation of a more diversified agricultural matrix, promoting improvements in the soil quality and connection with the remaining adjacent forest.

RESUMO O sensoriamento remoto permite a identificação das regularidades e irregularidades do uso e cobertura do solo em relação à legislação ambiental e pode ser decisivo em tomadas de decisões para intervenção. O objetivo do trabalho foi delimitar cenários em áreas de preservação permanentes com e sem usos consolidados na bacia hidrográfica do Rio Capivari, Estado do Rio de Janeiro-Brasil, no bioma da Mata Atlântica. Foram realizados no mapeamento e a análise do uso e ocupação das áreas de preservação permanente, através dos seguintes dados: cenas do satélite RapidEye-REIS de 2012, classificador Bhattacharya Distance e hidrografia da bacia e modelo digital de elevação (1:25.000), e os softwares Spring 5.2.7 e ARCGis 10.3.1. Os cenários adotados foram: I) Lei Federal n.º 4.771/1965 e Resolução do Conselho Nacional de Meio Ambiente (CONAMA) n.° 303/2002; II) Lei Federal n.º 12.651/20120; e III) Leis Federais n.º 12.651/2012 e n.º 12.727/2012. A classificação apresentou excelente acurácia de 91,15% para exatidão global e o índice Kappa de 0,86 em relação as amostras de treinamento das seis classes de usos múltiplos, tendo os usos antrópicos de Agropecuária, Queimadas, Solo Exposto e Urbanização, os quais estiveram presentes com usos conflitivos para Cenários I, II e III. A nova legislação florestal para as APPs do Cenário III impactou na redução em 68% em relação ao Cenário I, onde corrobora a preocupação na conservação dos recursos hídricos e edáficos, e o cumprimento da legislação.

ABSTRACT Remote sensing allows for identification of regularities and irregularities in land use and land coverage (LULC) change in relation to environmental legislation. The aim of this study was to delimit scenarios in the permanent preservation areas (PPAs) according to the Brazilian forestry law, with or without consolidated uses in the basin of Capivari River and the State of Rio de Janeiro in the Atlantic Forest biome. Mapping and analysis were performed on LULC in areas of permanent preservation using the following data: RapidEye-REIS satellite scenes acquired in 2012 and Bhattacharyya distance classifier and hydrography of the basin and digital elevation model (1:25.000) using Spring and ArcGIS software. The legal scenarios adopted were as follows: I) Federal Law N°. 4,771/1965 and the National Council for the Environment (CONAMA) N°. 303/2002; II) Federal Law N°. 12,651/2012; and III) Federal Law N°. 12,651/2012 and N°. 12,727/2012. The classification presented an excellent overall accuracy of 91.15% and a Kappa Index of 0.86 in relation to the samples of the six multipurpose classes having the anthropic uses of agriculture, burned pasture, exposed soil and urbanization, which were present with conflicting uses for Scenarios I, II and III. The new forest legislation for the PPAs of Scenario III impacted the reduction of 68% compared to Scenario I, which corroborates with the concerns on the conservation of water and soil resources.

RESUMO O trabalho foi desenvolvido em uma área de pasto abandonada revegetada com leguminosas arbóreas. Localizada no município de Valença, RJ, nela foram utilizadas diferentes proporções de leguminosas arbóreas fixadoras de nitrogênio: 0% (0L), 25% (25L), 50% (50L) e 75% (75L). Para avaliação da macrofauna do solo, as amostragens foram feitas nas épocas seca e úmida, utilizando-se o método TSBF. Outras amostragens foram realizadas, ainda, em uma floresta secundária (FS) e em duas áreas de pasto (PA e PB). O processo de revegetação aumentou a diversidade da fauna do solo de uma forma geral. Formicidae foi o grupo da macrofauna de maior abundância em todas as áreas, para as duas épocas de avaliação. Na época chuvosa, houve aumento considerável na quantidade de invertebrados na camada serapilheira nos tratamentos 0L, 25L, 50L, 75L e Floresta Secundária, o que no período seco aconteceu na camada 0-10 cm.

ABSTRACT The study was conducted in an area of abandoned pasture located in the city of Valença (RJ) revegetated with tree legumes. Different proportions of nitrogen-fixing leguminous trees were used: 0% (0L), 25% (25L), 50% (50L) and 75% (75L). For evaluation of soil biota, samplings were made in the end of the dry season and in the rainy season. Samples were collected in the abandoned pasture, in a secondary forest, and in two grassland areas (PA and PB). The process of reforestation has increased the overall diversity of soil fauna. Formicidae was the group that stood out, being abundant in all treatments and in the two periods of collection. During the rainy season, a considerable increase in the amount of invertebrates in the litter layer was observed in the treatments 0L, 25L, 50L, 75L and in the secondary forest, while during the dry season, such increase occurred in the 0-10 cm layer.

ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of natural pasture and spontaneous regeneration on soil chemical properties and epigeal fauna community using a secondary Atlantic Forest as reference. The study areas were located in Passa Vinte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. In each study area, pitfall traps were used to sample epigeal fauna in the dry and rainy seasons. Earth samples were collected at a depth of 0-5 cm in the dry and rainy seasons for analysis of chemical attributes. The pasture and regeneration areas showed an overall activity of epigeal fauna and functional groups similar to the forest area. However, the diversity evaluated by the Shannon and Pielou evenness indices and the total richness were lower than the observed in the forest. The best fertility attributes were observed in the forest and pasture areas.

RESUMO A Mata Atlântica é considerada um ambiente de ampla biodiversidade, no entanto, por estar constantemente sendo submetida a uma intensa pressão antrópica, encontra-se bastante fragmentada e desconectada, circundada por extensas matrizes formadas de pastos, capoeiras, monoculturas e áreas urbanas. A fragmentação, bem como determinados sistemas de uso e manejo do solo, pode ocasionar alterações na composição e atividade de microrganismos do solo, como os fungos micorrízicos arbusculares (FMAs). Dessa forma, o trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar a composição da população dos FMAs em diferentes áreas de Mata Atlântica, determinar a influência do tipo de cobertura vegetal na abundância de esporos de FMAs, no comprimento de micélio extrarradicular (CMET) e nos teores de proteína do solo relacionada à glomalina no solo (PSRG). Os sistemas avaliados foram: agricultura anual (AgAn); agricultura perene (AgP), pasto, floresta secundária estádio inicial (FSEI); floresta secundária estádio médio (FSEM); floresta secundária estádio avançado (FSEA). Coletaram-se amostras de terra na profundidade de 0-5 cm, em duas épocas distintas (verão e inverno). Um total de 27 morfotipos de esporos de FMAs foi coletado, sendo que a espécie Glomus macrocarpum Tulasne & Tulasne foi presente em todas as áreas estudadas, em ambas as épocas de coleta e na maioria das vezes com uma elevada frequência de ocorrência. A abundância de esporos de FMAs foi influenciada pelo tipo de cobertura vegetal. Uma baixa esporulação dos FMAs foi observada na área de AgAn em ambas as coletas. As áreas agrícolas modificaram a composição das espécies de FMAs em relação aos sistemas florestais. Os teores de PSRG - facilmente extraível (PSRG-FE) reduziram-se quando da passagem de FSEM para agricultura.

ABSTRACT The Atlantic Forest is considered an environment of great biodiversity. However, by constantly being subjected to intense human pressure, is very fragmented and disconnected, surrounded by extensive matrices formed by pastures, capoeiras, monocultures and urban areas. Fragmentation, as well as certain uses and soil management can cause changes in the composition and activity of soil microorganisms, such as mycorrhizal fungi (AMF). Fragmentation, as well as certain uses and soil management may entail a reduction of edaphic microflora. Thus, the study aimed to evaluate the composition of the population of mycorrhizal fungi (MF) in different areas, to determine the influence of vegetation on the abundance of AMF spores in the length of extraradical mycelium (LEM) and levels of Glomalin-related soil protein (GRSP) the ground. The systems were evaluated: annual crops (Anag); perennial agriculture (PAG), pasture, secondary forest early stage (SFES), secondary forest medium stage (SFME); advanced stage secondary forest (ASSF). Soil samples were collected at a depth of 0-5 cm, in two different seasons (summer and winter), and analyzed the abundance of spores and species composition of AMF, the LEM, and the presence of GRSP. It was recovered a total of 27 morphotypes of spores of AMF, and AMF species was that which was present in all areas studied in both seasons and in most cases with a high frequency of occurrence. The abundance of AMF spores was influenced by the type of vegetation. A low AMF sporulation was observed in the area of Anag both stations. The agricultural areas have changed the species composition of AMF in relation to forest systems. The concentration of GRSP - easily extractable (GRSP-EE) fell in the SFME for agriculture.

RESUMO Este estudo foi conduzido no município de Paraty, RJ, em áreas com diferentes manejos e plantas de cobertura, sendo: dois diferentes sistemas agroflorestais (AFS-1 e AFS-2), uma área de floresta secundária e uma área com monocultivo de mandioca. O objetivo foi avaliar os efeitos de diferentes usos da terra na fauna do solo e sua relação com os atributos químicos (pH, Al, Ca, Mg, P, K, carbono e matéria orgânica) e microbiológicos (carbono da biomassa microbiana – C-BMS; respiração do solo – RS; quociente metabólico – qCO2; quociente microbiano – Cmic) do solo. No inverno, o AFS-2 apresentou maior abundância de indivíduos micrófagos, saprófagos e totais, em relação a outras áreas. Do inverno para o verão, o AFS-1 e a área de floresta mostraram um aumento na abundância de formicidae e grupos fitófagos. A avaliação da fauna edáfica e a estrutura da comunidade mostraram que os AFSs estão sob processo de regeneração, aumentando a semelhança com florestas nativas, nas quais os processos ecológicos são considerados eficientes.

ABSTRACT We conducted the present study in Paraty, southeastern Brazil, in areas under different management regimes and plant cover. The study comprised two different agroforestry systems (AFS-1 and AFS-2), a secondary forest, and a cassava monoculture. We aimed at assessing the effects of land use on the soil fauna and its relationship with soil chemical (pH, Al, Ca, Mg, P, K, carbon, and organic matter) and microbiological attributes (soil microbial biomass carbon - SMB-C, soil respiration – SR, metabolic quotient - qCO2, microbial biomass carbon - C-mic). During winter, AFS-2 showed higher abundance of microphagous, saprophagous, and total individuals than the other areas. AFS-1 and the forest showed an increased abundance of Formicidae and phytophagous groups from winter to summer. The soil fauna and community structure showed that the studied agroforests are under regeneration, becoming more similar to the native forest, where ecological processes are considered efficient.

RESUMO Para avaliar o efeito da micorriza e do fósforo (P) sobre o amendoim forrageiro (Arachis pintoi Krap. & Greg.), foram estabelecidos dois experimentos em casa de vegetação para comprovar a hipótese de haver benefício da micorrização no crescimento de mudas desta espécie, tanto com propagação por sementes como de forma vegetativa. No experimento I, as mudas foram cultivadas em bandejas com 72 células, preenchidas com solo, em delineamento inteiramente casualizado (DIC) com parcelas subdivididas. Os tratamentos foram constituídos pela inoculação de seis espécies de fungos micorrízicos arbusculares (FMA) nas parcelas e duas formas de propagação nas subparcelas. No experimento II, estolões foram cultivados em vasos contendo solo de baixa fertilidade tratado com cinco doses de P e inoculados com quatro espécies de FMA mais um controle, arranjados em fatorial 5 x 5, em DIC. Em ambos os experimentos, os substratos foram previamente esterilizados. As mudas cultivadas em bandejas de isopor e originadas de sementes produziram mais matéria seca do que aquelas obtidas de forma vegetativa e os FMA foram eficientes em promover o crescimento das mudas. Para as mudas originadas do enraizamento de estolões, o benefício micorrízico foi detectado apenas sobre a massa de raízes. Nas mudas cultivadas em vasos e fertilizadas com P, a magnitude das respostas foi maior mediante inoculação com FMA. A espécie G. clarum foi mais eficiente em condições de baixa disponibilidade de P, enquanto A. morrowiae se destacou nos níveis mais elevados de P. Há indícios de elevada dependência micorrízica do amendoim forrageiro.

ABSTRACT To evaluate the effect of mycorrhiza and phosphorus (P) on the forage peanut (Arachis pintoi Krap. & Greg.), two experiments were set up in a greenhouse to prove the hypothesis that mycorrhiza is beneficial to the growth of seedlings of the species, for both seed and vegetative propagation. In the first experiment, the seedlings were grown in trays of 72 cells filled with soil, in a completely randomised design (CRD), with split lots. The treatments consisted of the inoculation of six species of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) for the lots, and two methods of propagation for the sub-lots. In the second experiment, stolons were grown in pots, in soil of low fertility treated with five doses of P and inoculated with four species of AMF, and one control, arranged in a 5 x 5 factorial in CRD. In both experiments, the substrates had earlier been sterilised. Seedlings originating from seeds, and grown in Styrofoam trays, produced more dry matter than those obtained vegetatively, with the AMF being effective in promoting seedling growth. For those seedlings originating from stolon rooting, the benefit from the mycorrhiza was detected only for root mass. In the seedlings grown in pots and fertilised with P, the extent of the response was higher for those inoculated with AMF. The species G. clarum was more efficient under conditions of low P availability, while A. morrowiae excelled at higher levels of P. There are indications of high mycorrhizal dependency in the forage peanut.

RESUMO O presente estudo objetivou avaliar a ocorrência de fungos micorrízicos arbusculares (FMA) em dois fragmentos florestais (FF 1 e FF 2) de Restinga periodicamente inundável, dispostos em um gradiente de saturação hídrica do solo em Marambaia, RJ. Em cada área foram coletadas amostras da camada superficial (0-5 cm), para avaliação da comunidade de FMA e dos atributos do solo. Entre as seis espécies de FMA encontradas, cinco foram comuns a ambas as áreas e Acaulospora scrobiculata se restringiu a FF 1. Acaulospora e Glomus foram os gêneros mais adaptados às condições ambientais dos ecossistemas. Não houve diferença significativa entre os fragmentos quanto à riqueza de espécies de FMA. Contudo, a abundância de esporos foi maior no FF 1. Parte destes resultados pode ser um reflexo dos menores valores de P disponível, teor de água e temperatura do solo no FF 1, quando comparado ao FF 2.

ABSTRACT The present study aimed to evaluate the arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) ocurrence in two forest fragments (FF 1 and FF 2) of periodically floodable Restinga, arranged in a gradient of soil water saturation at Marambaia, RJ. Soil samples were collected at a depth of 0-5 cm to evaluate the AMF community and soil atributes. Six AMF species were found, five of them occurred in both areas and Acaulospora scrobiculata were restricted to FF 1. Acaulospora and Glomus were the best-adapted genus to the ecosystem conditions. There was no significant difference between the forest fragments in relation to the species richness. However, spores abundancy was higher in FF 1. Some of these results were influenced by lower values of availability of P, moisture content and temperature in soil at FF 1, in relation to FF 2.

ABSTRACT The removal of original vegetation for crops and pasture production and then followed by natural regeneration is a standard practice in the Atlantic Forest, which has produced patches with different degrees of degradation and regeneration across the landscape. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of replacement of native forest by pasture and natural regeneration of vegetation on soil and on soil organic matter (SOM) dynamics in the dry and rainy season in an Atlantic Forest fragment in Passa Vinte, Minas Gerais (MG), Brazil. Soil samples were collected in the rainy and dry season, at a depth of 0.00-0.05 m. The variables determined were total organic carbon (TOC) and particle-size fractions of SOM [particulate organic carbon (POC) and mineral-associated organic carbon (MOC)]; microbial activity by basal respiration (BR) and microbial biomass carbon (MBC); species richness (SR) and spore abundance (SA) of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF); and total and easily extractable glomalin-related soil protein (T-GRSP and EE-GRSP, respectively). The conversion of native forest into pasture reduced TOC, POC, MOC, AMF-SA, T-GRSP, and EE-GRSP. However, it did not reduce MBC and BR. The fallow period in the area under natural regeneration was not long enough to restore soil TOC, POC, MOC, BR, MBC, T-GRSP, and EE-GRSP to levels approaching those observed in the forest area. Nevertheless, natural regeneration of vegetation stimulated the production of seedlings (spores) of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, which are important for the establishment of plant species and advance of ecological succession. Seasonality affected some of the biological soil properties and SOM dynamics.

RESUMO A revegetação de áreas de extração de argila com eucalipto e leguminosas pode favorecer a melhoria dos atributos químicos do solo. O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar a influência de plantios puros e consorciados de leguminosas e eucalipto na fertilidade do solo e nos teores de carbono orgânico total e das substâncias húmicas, em uma cava de extração de argila no Norte Fluminense. O solo original da área da cava em estudo é um Cambissolo Háplico Sódico gleico, no qual a camada superficial (espessura de 20 cm, aproximadamente), com maiores teores de matéria orgânica, foi retirada e devolvida ao fundo da cava após a extração da argila. A cava foi nivelada mecanicamente e mantida sob pousio durante dois anos. A revegetação foi realizada com as espécies Eucalyptus camaldulensis (Euc), Acacia mangium (Ac) eSesbania virgata (Sesb), em plantios puros e consorciados. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o de blocos casualizados com sete tratamentos (plantios puros de Euc, Ac e Sesb; plantios consorciados de Euc + Ac, Euc + Sesb, Ac + Sesb; e área degradada com vegetação espontânea (ADVE)) e três repetições. Aos 48 meses após implantação dos sistemas foram coletadas amostras de solo na camada de 0,00 a 0,05 m, em que se avaliaram algumas variáveis da fertilidade do solo (pH em água, P, K+; Ca+2, Mg+2, Na+, Al+3, H+Al), carbono orgânico total (COT), nitrogênio (N) e quantificado o carbono das substâncias húmicas em carbono da humina (C-HUM), carbono da fração ácido húmico (C-FAH) e ácido fúlvico (C-FAF). Observou-se que todos os plantios promoveram aumentos nos teores Ca, Mg, P, K, N, COT, C-HUM, C-FAH e C-FAF em relação à ADVE. A revegetação de áreas de cava de extração de argila no Norte Fluminense com plantios puros ou consorciados de eucalipto e leguminosas, acarreta em melhorias da fertilidade do solo e dos teores de carbono e nitrogênio totais do solo e do carbono das substâncias húmicas. Aos quatro anos após a revegetação, os sistemas mais indicados, de uma forma geral, para acarretar em aumentos dos teores de COT, N total, Mg, soma de bases e capacidade de troca catiônica, destaca-se o plantio de acácia, dentre os plantios puros, e o plantio de eucalipto + sesbânia, dentre os plantios consorciados. Além disso, o consórcio eucalipto + sesbânia, apresentou um dos maiores teores C da fração humina.

ABSTRACT The revegetation of areas of clay extraction with eucalypt and legumes can promote the improvement of soil chemical atributtes. The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of pure plantations and intercropping of legumes and eucalypt on soil fertility and the content of total organic carbon and humic substances, in a mining digging clay in North Fluminense. The original soil dig area under study is a Inceptsol where the surface layer (thickness of 20 cm approximately), with higher concentrations of organic matter was removed and returned to the bottom of the dig after the extraction of clay. The dig was leveled mechanically and kept under fallow for two years. Revegetation was performed with the species Eucalyptus camaldulensis (Euc),Acacia mangium (Ac) and Sesbania virgata(Sesb), in pure and intercropped. The experimental design was a randomized block design with seven treatments (pure stands of Euc, Ac and Sesb; Intercropping of Euc + Ac + Euc Sesb, Ac + Sesb, and degraded area with natural vegetation (DANV)) and three replications. At 48 months after implantation of the systems were sampled soil layer from 0.00 to 0.05 m, which evaluated some variables of soil fertility (pH, P, K+, Ca+2, Mg+2, Na+, Al+3, H + Al), total organic carbon (TOC), nitrogen (N) and quantified the carbon of humic substances in the humin carbon (C-HUM), humic acid carbon (C-FAH ) and fulvic acid (C-FAF). It was observed that all stands promoted increases in the concentration Ca, Mg, P, K, N, TOC, HUM C-C-C-FAF and HAF relative to DANV. The revegetation of areas of mining digging clay in North Fluminense pure stands or mixed with eucalypt and legumes, leads to improvements in soil fertility and carbon and total soil nitrogen and carbon of humic substances. At four years after revegetation systems are indicated, in general, to result in increases in TOC, total N, Mg, sum of bases and cation exchange capacity, there is the planting of acacia plantations among pure, and the planting of eucalypt + sesbania, among Intercropping. In addition, the consortium eucalypt + sesbania, presented one of the highest levels of C humin fraction.

A composição de comunidades e diversidade de fungos micorrízicos arbusculares (FMAs) pode ser influenciada por diversos fatores como o clima, a biota do solo e as plantas hospedeiras. Este estudo objetivou avaliar a influência da revegetação de uma cava de extração de argila com Sesbania virgata (SV) em plantios puro e consorciado com Eucalyptus camaldulensis (EC) e Acacia mangium (AM), na composição e diversidade de fungos micorrízicos arbusculares (FMAs), bem como na quantidade da proteína do solo relacionada à glomalina (PSRG). O delineamento experimental utilizado foi em blocos casualizados com quatro tratamentos (plantio puro de SV - 100SV; consórcio de SV + EC - 50SV:50EC; consórcio de SV + AM - 50SV:50AM; e área degradada com vegetação espontânea - ADVE), com três repetições. A revegetação da cava de extração de argila com SV, em plantios puro ou consorciado, reduziu a abundância de esporos e a dominância de espécies (Índice de Simpson - IDS) e aumentou a riqueza de espécies de FMAs e o índice de diversidade de Shannon e Wiener. Além disso, aumentou a quantidade de proteína do solo relacionada à glomalina, quando comparada a área degradada com vegetação espontânea.

The community composition and diversity of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) can be affected by several factors, including the climate, soil biota and host plants. This study aimed to evaluate the influence of Sesbania virgata (SV) revegetation in pure and intercropped with plantation Eucalyptus camaldulensis (EC) and Acacia mangium (AM), in the composition and diversity of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF), and the amount glomalin-related soil protein (GRSP) in an area damaged by clay extraction. The experimental design was a randomized block with four treatments (planting pure SV - 100SV); consortium of SV + EC - 50SV: 50EC; consortium AM SV + - 50SV: 50AM) and degraded area with natural vegetation - ADVE) and three replications. Revegetation of mining digging clay with SV in pure or intercropped planting reduced the abundance of spores and increased species diversity of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi. Furthermore, increased the amount of glomalin-related soil protein compared with the degraded area and spontaneous vegetation.

O plantio consorciado de eucalipto com leguminosas pode promover a melhoria da qualidade biológica do solo em áreas degradadas e também ser vantajoso para as espécies do consórcio. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a influência de sistemas de plantios (puros e consorciados) de Acacia mangium (AM), Sesbania virgata (SV) e Eucalyptus camaldulensis (EC), sobre o desenvolvimento das plantas em estudo (variáveis dendrométricas) e especificamente sobre a fauna da serapilheira e dos primeiros 5 cm do solo. Realizou-se um experimento, cujo delineamento utilizado foi o de blocos casualizados com seis tratamentos e três repetições. Os tratamentos utilizados para avaliação dos atributos dendrométricos foram: 100EC (100 % EC) e 100AM (100 % AM); 50EC:50AM (50 % EC + 50 % AM); 50EC:50SV (50 % EC + 50 % SV); e 50AM:50SV (50 % AM + 50 % SV). Para avaliação da fauna do solo foram: 100EC, 100AM, 100SV (100 % SV), 50EC:50SV e 50 AM:50SV. Aos 48 meses após o plantio, foram feitas medições de altura (H) e diâmetro à altura do peito (DAP) das espécies E. camaldulensis e A. mangium e estimativas da área basal (AB) e volume de madeira com casca por indivíduo (VCI). Na serapilheira e no solo (0-5 cm), foram avaliadas a abundância e diversidade da fauna edáfica. O E. camaldulensis quando cultivado em consórcio com as leguminosas apresentou maior DAP, AB e VCI. Em contrapartida, a A. mangium não teve essas variáveis influenciadas quando em consórcio com o E. camaldulensis e com a S. virgata. Plantios de E. camaldulensis e S. virgata em consórcio promoveram maior abundância total de organismos e maiores valores dos índices de diversidade de Shannon e Pielou, principalmente no que se refere ao compartimento serapilheira.

The intercropping of Eucalyptus with legumes can promote an improvement of soil biological quality in degraded areas and also be advantageous for the species of the consortium. The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of planting systems (monoculture and consortium) of Acacia mangium (AM), Sesbania virgata (SV) and Eucalyptus camaldulensis (EC) on the biological characteristics of the plants (dendrometric attributes) and specifically on the fauna in the litter and the surface soil layer (0-0.05 m). An experiment in a randomized block was conducted with six treatments and three replications. The treatments used to evaluate the dendrometric attributes were: 100 % EC and 100 % AM; 50 % EC + 50 % AM; 50 % EC + 50 % SV; 50 % AM + 50 % SV). To evaluate the soil fauna, biological characteristics were assessed in treatments with: 100 % EC; 100 % AM; 100 % SV; 50 % EC:50 % SV; and 50 % AM:50 % SV. Forty-eight months after planting, the height (H) and diameter at breast height (DBH) of the species EC and AM were measured, and estimates of basal area (BA) and wood volume with bark per tree (WBT). The abundance and diversity of the soil fauna were evaluated in leaf litter and soil (0.0-0.05 m). When intercropped with legumes, the DBH, BA and WBT of EC were higher. In contrast, for AM these variables were unaltered when intercropped with EC and SV. Plantations of EC-SV consortium promoted higher total abundance of organisms and highest values of Shannon diversity and evenness indices, especially with regard to the litter compartment.
