Abstract Zinc (Zn) deficiency affects one-third of the world’s population, and agronomic biofortification is a good way to fight against this problem. Biofortification of leafy vegetables has been driven by their consumption, and, in this scenario, the waterleaf (Talinum triangulare) demonstrates good potential. Thus, this work aimed to verify the efficiency of agronomic biofortification of waterleaf with Zn applied via root. For the experiment, seedlings obtained with vegetative propagation by cuttings were used and cultivated in a mixture of sand and commercial substrate, initially in the laboratory. After acclimatization, the seedlings were transferred to a plant nursery, where NPK and Zn were applied, in six treatments (source Zinc Sulphate Heptahydrate, ZnSO4.7H2O), T1: control; T2: 12.5 mg kg-1; T3: 25 mg kg-1; T4: 50 mg kg-1; T5: 100 mg kg-1; T6: 400 mg kg-1. The length, number of leaves, shoots, inflorescences, and diameter of the collection were measured. The leaf dry mass (LDM), stem (SDM), root (RDM), root-shoot ratio (R S-1), leaf weight ratio (LWR), Dickson’s Quality Index (DQI), leaf and soil Zn levels, total proteins and soluble sugars (TSS) were analyzed. The dose of 400 mg kg-1 provided toxicity to plants, and the dose of 100 mg kg-1 demonstrated better results in plant growth and development and contents of proteins and zinc, with an increase of 4081% of Zn, indicating which is the most effective dose to be used in the biofortification of this species. Resumo A deficiência de Zinco (Zn) atinge um terço da população mundial, e a biofortificação agronômica é uma forma de combatê-la. A biofortificação de hortaliças folhosas tem sido impulsionada pelo seu consumo e, neste cenário, o cariru (Talinum triangulare) demonstra potencial para esses estudos. Assim, este trabalho teve como objetivo verificar a eficiência da biofortificação agronômica de cariru com Zn aplicado via radicular. Para o experimento, foram utilizadas mudas obtidas com a propagação vegetativa por estaquia, cultivadas em uma mistura de areia e substrato comercial inicialmente em laboratório. Após aclimatação, as mudas foram transferidas para um viveiro, onde foram aplicados NPK e Zn, em seis tratamentos (fonte Sulfato de Zinco Heptahidratado, ZnSO4.7H2O), T1: testemunha; T2: 12.5 mg kg-1; T3: 25 mg kg-1; T4: 50 mg kg-1; T5: 100 mg kg-1; T6: 400 mg kg-1. Foram medidos o comprimento, número de folhas, brotações, inflorescências e diâmetro da coleção. RESUMO Três espécies de Ascomycetes, gênero Camillea, foram registradas em um fragmento de floresta Amazônica na região de Santarém, Pará, Brasil. A ocorrência de C. leprieurii, C. cyclops e C. bilabiata expande a área de distribuição dessas espécies no estado. Camillea leprieurii foi registrada previamente nas regiões de Marabá, Oriximiná, Itaituba e Novo Progresso, enquanto C. cyclops havia sido registrada apenas no oeste do estado. Este é o primeiro registro de C. bilabiata no Pará. Fornecemos uma descrição morfológica dos espécimes e uma chave de identificação para as espécies de Camillea encontradas no Pará.

ABSTRACT Three species of the Ascomycetes genus Camillea were recorded in a fragment of Amazon rainforest in the region of Santarém, Pará state, Brazil. The occurrence of C. leprieurii, C. cyclops and C. bilabiata expand the range of distribution of these species in the state. Camillea leprieurii has previous records in the regions of Marabá, Oriximiná, Itaituba and Novo Progresso, while C. cyclops had been recorded in the west of the state. This is the first record of C. bilabiata for Pará. We provide a morphological description of the specimens and an identification key for Camillea species found in Pará.

RESUMO A alta diversidade do gênero Geastrum e a dificuldade de obtenção de culturas miceliais prejudicam o estudo ecofisiológico e a exploração do potencial biotecnológico do táxon. Nesse estudo, foram testados diferentes meios de cultivo, visando a obtenção de culturas miceliais para G. lloydianum e G. subiculosum coletadas na Amazônia brasileira. A germinação dos esporos, o isolamento das culturas monocarióticas e o cruzamento sexual in vitro são apresentados, além de uma breve descrição morfológica das culturas obtidas. O meio de cultura Batata Dextrose Ágar (BDA) foi o mais promissor dentre os meios de cultura testados no cultivo das duas espécies. Reportamos o maior crescimento em cultura de ágar já registrado para esse gênero (4,9 mm por semana para G. lloydianum e 7,5 mm por semana para G. subiculosum). Nesse meio de cultivo, os esporos germinaram após 35-40 dias de incubação e o isolamento de culturas monocarióticas das duas espécies, assim com os cruzamentos sexuais in vitro, foram realizados com sucesso.

ABSTRACT The high diversity of the genus Geastrum and the difficulty of obtaining mycelial cultures impairs the study of the ecophysiology and the exploration of the biotechnological potential of the taxon. In this study, different culture media were tested to obtain mycelial cultures for G. lloydianum and G. subiculosum collected in the Brazilian Amazon. Data on spore germination, and isolation of monokaryotic cultures and in vitro sexual reproduction are presented, as well as a brief morphological description of the cultures obtained. For both species, Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) was the most promising of the tested culture media. The highest growth in agar culture ever recorded for this genus is reported (4.9 mm per week for G. lloydianum and 7.5 mm for G. subiculosum). In the PDA culture medium, spores germinated after 35-40 days of incubation and the isolation of monokaryotic cultures of the two species, as well as in vitro sexual crosses, were successfully performed.

Abstract: Background and Aims: Studies about Phallus (Phallaceae, Basidiomycota) in the Amazon are scarce, considering the knowledge gaps of the taxon. In the Reserva Extrativista Tapajós-Arapiuns, state of Pará, Brazil, the occurrence of P. indusiatus, and their local names were not known. Hence, the first record of this species in the area is presented, including two local names used by riparians of that locality, and a popular taxonomic system to recognize the macroscopic fungi. Methods: During May 2016, expeditions were carried out in Vila Franca and Maripá, traditional communities of the Reserva Extrativista (RESEX) Tapajós-Arapiuns, in the west of the state of Pará, as well as open interviews with the riparians of these communities. Key results: In both communities, the prefix Urupê was used to designate macroscopic fungi. For the recognition of P. indusiatus among other fungi, the riparians of each community attributed a second term derived to the prefix, being identified as Urupê-tajá-de-cobra in Vila Franca and Urupê-véu-de-noiva in Maripá. Conclusions: The popular taxonomic system of the riparians is useful in the study of the diversity of fungi and its conservation is necessary mainly in areas witch are little or not yet studied. The ethnoknowledge about Phallus constitutes important information in light of the existing knowledge gaps on the taxon and broadens the horizons to further ethnomycological studies in Amazon.

Resumen: Antecedentes y Objetivos: Los estudios acerca de Phallus (Phallaceae, Basidiomycota) en la Amazonia son escasos teniendo en cuenta las lagunas existentes en el conocimiento del taxon. En la Reserva Extrativista Tapajós-Arapiuns, estado de Pará, Brasil, se desconocía la ocurrencia de P. indusiatus, y sus nombres locales. Por lo tanto, se presenta el primer registro de esta especie en la zona, incluyendo dos nombres locales usados por los ribereños de esta localidad; y un sistema taxonómico popular para reconocer los hongos macroscópicos. Métodos: Durante mayo de 2016, se realizaron expediciones en Vila Franca y Maripá, comunidades tradicionales de la Reserva Extrativista (RESEX) Tapajós-Arapiuns, ubicada al oeste del estado de Pará, así como entrevistas abiertas con los ribereños de estas comunidades. Resultados clave: En las dos comunidades, el prefijo Urupê fue utilizado para designar hongos macroscópicos. Para el reconocimiento de P. indusiatus entre los demás hongos, los ribereños de cada comunidad atribuyeron un segundo término derivado al prefijo, siendo identificado como Urupê-tajá-de-cobra en Vila Franca y Urupê-véu-de-noiva en Maripá. Conclusiones: El sistema taxonómico popular de los ribereños es útil en el estudio de la diversidad de hongos, y su conservación es necesaria principalmente en áreas poco o aún no estudiadas. El etnoconocimiento sobre Phallus constituye información importante a la luz de las lagunas de conocimiento existentes para el taxon, y amplía los horizontes a nuevos estudios etnomicológicos en la Amazonia.
