Resumo Introdução: O câncer cervical está associado com a infecção persistente pelo HPV (human papiloma virus) de alto risco e causa cerca de 265 mil mortes todos os anos no mundo, tornando-se um importante problema de saúde pública. Objetivo: Descrever o perfil epidemiológico, história clínica e achados citológicos de 55 mulheres infectadas com HPV vivendo em áreas remotas no Amazonas, Brasil. Método: Obtiveram-se as amostras por autocoleta, utilizando-se a escova Rovers® Evalyn® para detecção do HPV por meio da técnica de PCR (polymerase chain reaction). Realizou-se o exame citológico por citologia em meio líquido. Resultados: A média de idade das participantes foi de 35 anos de idade (DP=14). A maioria das mulheres apresentou baixa ou nenhuma escolaridade (52,7%), vivia em uma relação estável com um parceiro (74,5) e tinha de três a cinco filhos (32,5%). Observou-se o uso inconsistente de preservativo pela maioria das participantes (“nunca 34,5% e “às vezes” 41,8%). O exame citopatológico mostrou que 14 mulheres (25,4%) tinham alterações citológicas: 7 Ascus (50,0%), 5 L-SIL (35,7%) e 2 H-SIL (14,3%). Conclusões: Uma vez que as lesões cervicais são causadas pela infecção persistente pelo HPV, é importante que programas de prevenção do CC usem alternativas eficazes para acompanhar mulheres HPV positivas vivendo em áreas remotas. Abstract Background: Cervical cancer (CC) is associated with persistent high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and it causes about 265,000 deaths per year worldwide, thus becoming an important public health problem. Objective: This study aimed to describe the epidemiological profile, clinical history, and cytological findings of 55 women infected with HPV living in remote areas in Amazonas, Brazil. Method: The samples were obtained by self-collection using the Rovers® Evalyn® Brush for HPV detection through PCR. The cytological examination was performed by liquid-based cytology. Results: The mean age of participants was 35 years (SD=14). Most of the women presented low or no schooling (52.7%), lived in stable relationship with a partner (74.5%), and had three to five children (32.7%). Inconsistent use of condoms by most of the participants (“never” — 34.5% and “sometimes” — 41.8%) was observed. Cytopathological examinations showed that 14 (25.4%) women had cytological alterations: 7 atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance (50.0%), 5 low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (35.7%), and 2 high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (14.3%). Conclusion: As cervical lesions have been caused by persistent HPV infection over the years, CC Prevention Programs use effective strategies to follow up on HPV-positive women living in remote areas. Resumo Em2018, houve Consulta Pública da Instrução Normativa INMETRO para Classe de Eficiência Energética de Edificações Comerciais, de Serviços e Públicas (INI-C), para substituição do Regulamento Técnico da Qualidade para o Nível de Eficiência Energética de Edificações (RTQ-C). O objetivo deste artigo foicomparar os resultados obtidos pela aplicação dos métodos simplificado e de simulação da INI-C, em um Pavilhão do Exército Brasileiro. Foram avaliados dois programas de simulação (DesignBuildere EnergyPlus), três tipos de modelagem de cobertura (conforme projeto, modelada como material equivalente de mesmas propriedades térmicas de projeto, e adiabática), dois tipos de arquivos climáticos (“SWERA” e “INMET 2016”), e dois tipos de objetos para modelagem do sistema de condicionamento de ar da edificação (“PTAC” e “IdealLoads”), perfazendo 52 cenários, que foram comparados entre si. Em todos os cenários, obteve-se ENCE Geral de Projeto classe “A”, porém com diferenças de consumos energéticos. Concluiu-se que os resultados obtidos por ambos osmétodos da INI-C são compatíveis, ainda mais quando se utiliza arquivo climático “SWERA”.

Abstract In 2018, a public consultation was held on the INMETRO Normative Instruction for Energy Efficiency Class for Commercial, Service and Public Buildings (INI-C), aimed at updating and replacing the Technical Quality Regulation for the Energy Efficiency Level of Buildings (RTQ-C). The aim of this paper is to compare the results obtained by applying the INI-C’s simplified and simulation methods in a Brazilian Army pavilion. The authors evaluated two simulation softwares (DesignBuilder and EnergyPlus), three types of roof modelling (according to the design, modelled as equivalent material with the same thermal properties as the design, and adiabatic), two types of weather files (“SWERA” and “INMET 2016”), and two types of objects for modelling the building's air conditioning system (“PTAC” and “IdealLoads”). On the whole, 52 scenarios were compared to each other. In all scenarios, the ENCE obtained was class “A”, but with differences in energy consumption. It was concluded that the results obtained by both INI-C methods are compatible, especially when using the weather file “SWERA”.

As simulações computacionais têm assumido um papel cada vez mais importante no cenário de ciência e tecnologia e também têm se tornado uma grande ferramenta no ensino de física. De forma a contribuir com o ensino de técnicas de simulação aplicadas à matéria condensada, este trabalho visa demonstrar o desenvolvimento teórico do cálculo do fator de compressibilidade e seu respectivo resultado numérico através de simulações de dinâmica molecular clássica para um sistema formado por discos rígidos.

Computer simulations play an important role in science and technology and have become a great teaching tool. In order to contribute to the field of computer simulation teaching applied to condensed matter, this work aims to demonstrate the theoretical development of compressibility factor calculation and its respective numerical result by classical molecular dynamics simulations of a system formed by hard disks.

Objective to identify errors in the preparation and administration of intravenous drugs. Method observational and descriptive study. 694 doses of intravenous medications performed by nursing professionals in adult patients were observed in the Emergency, Inpatient and Intensive Care Units of a small hospital in the recôncavo of Bahia, Brazil. Data were collected in March and April 2019, through non-participant observation, using two observation scripts as instruments. Descriptive variables were analyzed using the absolute and relative frequency distribution. Results the occurrence of 60% of errors in the preparation technique and 75% of errors in the technique of administering intravenous drugs was highlighted. Conclusion both in the preparation and administration of intravenous medications, errors in technique and time were identified, pointing out the need to implement strategies aimed at patient safety.

Objetivo identificar errores en la preparación y administración de medicaciones intravenosas. Método estudio observacional y descriptivo, realizado con 694 dosis de medicaciones intravenosas realizadas por profesionales de enfermería en pacientes adultos en las Unidades de Emergencia, Internación y Cuidados Intensivos de un pequeño hospital en el recóncavo de Bahía, Brasil. Los datos fueron recolectados en los meses de marzo y abril de 2019, mediante observación no participante, utilizando dos guiones de observación como instrumento. Las variables descriptivas se analizaron mediante la distribución de frecuencia absoluta y relativa. Resultados se observaron errores técnicos, con ocurrencia del 60% de errores de técnica de preparación y 75% de errores de técnica de administración de fármacos intravenosos. Conclusión tanto en la preparación como en la administración de medicamentos por vía intravenosa se identificaron errores en la técnica y en el tiempo, señalando la necesidad de implementar estrategias orientadas a la seguridad del paciente.

Método estudo observacional e descritivo realizado de 694 doses de medicamentos intravenosos realizadas pelos profissionais de enfermagem em pacientes adultos nas unidades de Emergência, Internamento e Unidade de Terapia Intensiva de um hospital de pequeno porte do recôncavo da Bahia, Brasil. Os dados foram coletados em março e abril de 2019, por meio da observação não participante, tendo como instrumento dois roteiros de observação. As variáveis descritivas foram analisadas por meio da distribuição de frequência absoluta e relativa. Resultados destacou-se os erros de técnica com observação da ocorrência de 60% de erros de técnica do preparo e 75% de erros de técnica de administração dos medicamentos intravenosos. Conclusão Tanto no preparo quanto na administração dos medicamentos intravenosos, foram identificados erros de técnica e de horário, apontando a necessidade de implementação de estratégias voltadas para a segurança do paciente.

ABSTRACT Bottom-dwelling elasmobranchs, such as guitarfishes, skates and stingrays are highly susceptible species to bycatch due to the overlap between their distribution and area of fishing operations. Catch data for this group is also often merged in generic categories preventing species-specific assessments. Along the east coast of Australia, the Eastern Fiddler Ray, Trygonorrhina fasciata (Muller & Henle, 1841), and the Sydney Skate, Dentiraja australis (Macleay, 1884), are common components of bycatch yet there is little information about their age, growth and reproductive timing, making impact assessment difficult. In this study the age and growth (from vertebral bands) as well as reproductive parameters of these two species are estimated and reported based on 171 specimens of Eastern Fiddler Rays (100 females and 71 males) and 81 Sydney Skates (47 females and 34 males). Based on von Bertalanffy growth curve fits, Eastern Fiddler Rays grew to larger sizes than Sydney Skate but did so more slowly (ray: L∞ = 109.61, t0 = 0.26 and K = 0.20; skate: L∞ = 51.95, t0 = -0.99 and K = 0.34 [both sexes combined]). Both species had higher liver weight ratios (HSI) during austral summer. Gonadal weight ratios (GSI) were higher in the austral winter for Eastern Fiddler and in the austral spring for Sydney Skates.

Abstract A field experiment was performed to determine the effects of tembotrione and atrazine residues in soil on sugar beet eight months after herbicide application. The treatments included sugar beet cultivation with tembotrione-contaminated soil (50.4 g a.i. ha-1), tembotrione (100.8 g a.i. ha-1), tembotrione and atrazine (50.4 g a.i. ha-1 + 2 L a.i. ha-1), tembotrione and atrazine (100.8 g a.i. ha-1 + 2 L a.i. ha-1), atrazine (2 L a.i. ha-1) and soil without herbicide application. In general, in comparison to the control, when sugar beets were grown following any of the herbicide treatments, the crop dry biomass was reduced. However, only treatments sprayed with a high rate of tembotrione significantly reduced sugar beet yield.

Resumen Se realizó un experimento de campo con remolacha azucarera para determinar los efectos de los residuos de tembotriona y atrazina en el suelo, ocho meses después de la aplicación del herbicida. Los tratamientos incluyeron cultivo de remolacha azucarera con suelo contaminado con tembotriona (50.4 g ai ha-1), tembotrione (100.8 g ai ha-1), tembotriona y atrazina (50.4 g ai ha-1 + 2 L ai ha-1), tembotrione y atrazina (100.8 g ai ha-1 + 2 L ai ha-1), atrazina (2 L ai ha-1) y suelo sin aplicación de herbicida. En general, cuando se cultivó remolacha azucarera siguiendo cualquier tratamiento con herbicida, se redujo la biomasa seca del cultivo en comparación con el control. Sin embargo, solo los tratamientos rociados con alta tasa de tembotriona + atrazina disminuyeron significativamente el rendimiento de la remolacha azucarera. Por lo tanto, los residuos de atrazina + tembotriona en el suelo afectan negativamente el crecimiento y el rendimiento de la remolacha. Este estudio fue el primer informe que demostró que estos herbicidas pueden causar daños en la remolacha azucarera.

RESUMO A eficiência da adubação fosfatada pode ser reduzida pela incorporação do fertilizante ao solo com enxada rotativa, método que é comumente adotado no cultivo de hortaliças. Objetivou-se avaliar a produtividade de repolho e a eficiência de adubação fosfatada, em função de doses e modos de aplicação de P ao solo. Foram conduzidos quatro experimentos [dois com aplicação a lanço (0 kg ha-1, 200 kg ha-1, 400 kg ha-1, 800 kg ha-1 e 1.600 kg ha-1 de P2O5) e dois com aplicação localizada (0 kg ha-1, 80 kg ha-1, 160 kg ha-1, 320 kg ha-1 e 640 kg ha-1 de P2O5, combinados com a presença ou ausência de fosfatagem - aplicação a lanço de 200 kg ha-1 de P2O5)], em dois locais de cultivo [solo de menor (A) e maior (B) disponibilidade de P, ambos de textura muito argilosa]. As doses de 252 kg ha-1 e 284 kg ha-1 de P2O5 foram estimadas para a obtenção da máxima produtividade econômica com a aplicação a lanço nos locais A e B, respectivamente. As melhores doses foram 183 kg ha-1 e 146 kg ha-1 de P2O5 com a aplicação localizada de P sem fosfatagem nos locais A e B, respectivamente. A eficiência de recuperação para a obtenção de 95 % da máxima produtividade foi de 48,9 % e 30,0 % nos locais A e B, respectivamente. Para o P aplicado localizado na ausência de fosfatagem, estes índices foram de 44,6 % e 60,4 % nos locais A e B, respectivamente. Com a fosfatagem, a eficiência de recuperação diminui de forma significativa. A aplicação localizada de P é mais eficiente que a aplicação a lanço no fornecimento de nutrientes e para a produtividade de repolho.

ABSTRACT The efficiency of phosphate fertilization may be reduced by incorporating the fertilizer to the soil using a rotary tiller, which is a method commonly adopted to grow vegetables. This study aimed to evaluate the yield of cabbage crop and the efficiency of phosphate fertilization based on rates and application methods of P to the soil. Four experiments were carried out [two using broadcasting application (0 kg ha-1, 200 kg ha-1, 400 kg ha-1, 800 kg ha-1 and 1,600 kg ha-1 of P2O5) and two using localized application (0 kg ha-1, 80 kg ha-1, 160 kg ha-1, 320 kg ha-1 and 640 kg ha-1 of P2O5, combined with the presence or absence of phosphating - application of 200 kg ha-1 of P2O5 by broadcasting)] in two growing sites [one with low (A) and another with high (B) content of P, both showing a very clayey texture]. The rates of 252 kg ha-1 and 284 kg ha-1 of P2O5 were estimated to obtain the maximum economic productivity in the broadcasting application at the sites A and B, respectively. The best rates were 183 kg ha-1 and 146 kg ha-1 of P2O5 with the localized application of P without phosphating at the sites A and B, respectively. To obain 95 % of maximum yield, the recovery efficiency was 48.9 % and 30.0 % at the sites A and B, respectively. For the localized application of P in the absence of phosphating, these values were 44.6 % and 60.4 % at the sites A and B, respectively. With phosphating, the recovery efficiency decreased significantly. The localized application of P is more efficient than the broadcasting application to supply nutrients and increase the cabbage yield.

RESUMO A deriva de herbicidas de efeito hormonal é um grande problema para a agricultura, pois, mesmo em pequena quantidade, pode causar grandes prejuízos em lavouras com plantas sensíveis ao seu mecanismo de ação. Objetivou-se avaliar a eficiência de pontas hidráulicas de pulverização com indução de ar, bem como o uso do adjuvante LI-700, na redução de deriva do herbicida 2,4-D, na cultura do tomate. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o de parcelas subdivididas, inteiramente casualizado, com oito repetições. Nas parcelas, foram alocadas duas soluções do herbicida (com ou sem o uso de adjuvante) [2,4-D (670 g ha-1) e 2,4-D (670 g ha-1) + LI-700 (712,88 g ha-1)] e, nas subparcelas, cinco modelos de pontas [leque simples (JSF11003), leque simples com indução de ar (AD-IA11003), leque duplo com indução (AD-IA/D11003), leque simples martelinho com indução (TTI11003-VP) e cone vazio com indução (CV-IA10003)]. Os tratamentos foram aplicados em túnel de vento, à pressão de 300 kPa. Em analisador a laser, aplicando-se somente água, foram determinados, para todos os modelos de pontas, o diâmetro da mediana volumétrica, a amplitude relativa e a porcentagem de gotas com diâmetro inferior a 150 µm. As pontas hidráulicas CV-IA10003 e TTI11003-VP destacam-se por reduzir a deriva do herbicida 2,4-D e diminuir os danos a plantas de tomate. A adição do adjuvante LI-700 à calda de 2,4-D, independentemente do modelo de ponta, reduz a deriva desse herbicida e seus efeitos sobre a raiz de tomateiro. Entretanto, mesmo adotando-se essas tecnologias, a aplicação do herbicida 2,4-D próxima à cultura do tomate deve ser evitada.

ABSTRACT The drift of hormonal effect herbicides is a major problem for agriculture, because, even in small amounts, it may cause high losses in crops with plants that are sensitive to their action mechanism. This study aimed to evaluate the efficiency of hydraulic spray nozzles with air induction, as well as the use of the LI-700 adjuvant, in the reduction of the 2,4-D herbicide drift, in tomato crop. A complete randomized split-plot experimental design, with eight replications, was used. Two herbicide solutions were assigned in the plots (with or without the use of adjuvant) [2,4-D (670 g ha-1) and 2,4-D (670 g ha-1) + LI-700 (712.88 g ha-1)], and, in the subplots, five nozzle models [simple fan (JSF11003), simple fan with air induction (AD-IA11003), dual fan with air induction (AD-IA/D11003), simple hammer fan with air induction (TTI11003-VP) and empty cone with air induction (CV-IA10003). The treatments were applied in a wind tunnel, under a pressure of 300 kPa. In a laser analyzer, applying only water, the volumetric median diameter, the relative amplitude and the percentage of drops with diameter lower than 150 µm were measured for all nozzle models. The CV-IA10003 and TTI11003-VP hydraulic nozzles outstand by reducing the 2,4-D herbicide drift and decreasing the damage to tomato plants. The addition of the LI-700 adjuvant to the 2,4-D syrup, independently of the nozzle model, reduces the drift of this herbicide and its effects on the tomato plant root. However, even when adopting these technologies, the application of the 2,4-D herbicide near the tomato crop should be avoided.

RESUMEN El objetivo fue evaluar el potencial del fertilizante foliar FertiG como atenuador de la toxicidad de Metribuzin en el cultivo de zanahoria. Se realizaron experimentos en las cosechas 2014 y 2015. Los tratamientos fueron arreglados en un esquema factorial 4 x 3, realizando cuatro aplicaciones del fertilizante foliar en diferentes épocas y tres dosis de Metribuzin (0, 288 y 576 g ha-1). En la cosecha 1, el fertilizante foliar con el herbicida (288 g ha-1) aumentó la productividad comercial cinco d antes de la aplicación del Metribuzin. El uso de FertiG asociado al Metribuzin redujo la producción de zanahorias bifurcadas cinco d antes de la aplicación y sin el fertilizante foliar. La mezcla en tanque disminuyó el descarte total, así como la productividad total (576 g ha-1). En la cosecha 2, la productividad comercial aumentó cinco d antes (576 g ha-1) y cinco d después (288 g ha-1) de la aplicación del Metribuzin cuando se asoció el fertilizante foliar al herbicida. Las zanahorias bifurcadas disminuyeron cinco d después de la aplicación del Metribuzin (288 g ha-1), así como el descarte total. Así, FertiG tiene potencial para atenuar la intoxicación en zanahoria bifurcada (288 g ha-1) cuando se asocia al Metribuzin.

ABSTRACT The objective of this research was to evaluate the potential of the foliar fertilizer FertiG as an attenuator of Metribuzin toxicity in the carrot crop. Experiments were carried out in the 2014 and 2015 crops cycles. The treatments were arranged in a 4 x 3 factorial scheme, four times of foliar fertilizer application and three doses of Metribuzin (0, 288 and 576 g ha-1). In crop 1, the foliar fertilizer with the herbicide (288 g ha-1) increased the commercial yield 5 d before the Metribuzin application. The use of FertiG associated to Metribuzin reduced the production of forked carrots 5 d before application and without the foliar fertilizer. The tank mixture decreased the total discard as well as the total yield (576 g ha-1). In crop 2, the commercial yield increased 5 d before (576 g ha-1) and 5 d after (288 g ha-1) the application of Metribuzin when the leaf fertilizer was associated with the herbicide. The yield of the forked carrots decreased 5 d after the application of Metribuzin (288 g ha-1), as well as the total discard. Thus, when associated with Metribuzin (288 g ha-1), FertiG has the potential to attenuate the herbicide toxicity in carrots.

RESUMO O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar índices de crescimento do híbrido de Eucalyptus urograndis sob aplicação dos herbicidas triclopyr e fluroxipyr+triclopyr. Utilizou-se delineamento em blocos casualizados com quatro repetições em esquema fatorial (3x2x5), correspondendo aos herbicidas (triclopyr e fluroxipyr+triclopyr), ambos em duas doses (0,75 e 1,5% da concentração de 480 g.e.a L-1 para triclopyr e 80+240 g.e.a L-1 para fluroxipyr+triclopyr) mais uma testemunha (plantas que não receberam aplicação dos herbicidas) e cinco datas de avaliação aos 15, 30, 45, 60 e 75 dias após aplicação (DAA). Aos 45 dias após o transplante das mudas, foram realizadas aplicações com pulverizador costal pressurizado a gás carbônico, equipado com pontas bico (XR 110.02) com volume de calda de 200 L ha-1 e pressão constante de 35 kgf/cm2. Foram avaliados: área foliar (AF), área foliar específica (AFE), razão de área foliar (RAF), razão de peso de folha (RPF), taxa de crescimento absoluto (TCA), taxa de crescimento relativo (TCR) e taxa assimilatória líquida (TAL). A deriva dos herbicidas triclopyr e fluroxipyr+triclopyr no híbrido E. urograndis prejudica o desenvolvimento das plantas no início do estabelecimento. Aos 75 dias após a simulação da deriva dos herbicidas as plantas apresentam características de recuperação dos sintomas de intoxicação. É necessário a realização de estudos superiores a 75 DAA para comprovar a recuperação total dos sintomas de intoxicação de plantas do híbrido de E. urograndis resultante da deriva dos herbicidas em estudo.

ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to evaluate growth rates of E. urograndis under application of triclopyr and fluroxipyr+triclopyr herbicides. Was used a randomized block design with four replications in a factorial design (3x2x5), corresponding to herbicides (triclopyr and fluroxipyr+triclopyr), both with two doses (0.75 and 1.5% concentrations of 480 g and L-1 for triclopyr and 80+240 g and L-1 for fluroxipyr+triclopyr), plus one control (plants that did not receive herbicide application) and five evaluation dates at 15, 30, 45, 60 and 75 days after application (DAA). At 45 days after seedlings transplant, applications were performed with pressurized carbon dioxide backpack sprayer, equipped with beak tip (XR 110.02) with spray volume of 200 L ha-1 and constant pressure of 35 kgf/cm2. Were evaluated: leaf area (LA), specific leaf area (SLA), leaf area ratio (LAR), leaf weight ratio (LWR), absolute growth ratio (AGR), relative growth ratio (RGR) and net assimilatory ratio (NAR). The drift of triclopyr and fluroxipyr + triclopyr herbicide in the hybrid E. urograndis affect plant development in the beginning of the establishment. At 75 days after simulation drift of herbicides the plants showed characteristics of the symptoms of intoxication. It’s necessary to perform studies after 75 DAA to verify the complete recovery of the intoxication symptoms of E. urograndis hybrid plants resulting from the herbicide drift in the present study.

RESUMO. A cultura da batata (Solanum tuberosum L.) é favorecida pela rotação de culturas e, em alguns casos, desfavorecida pelos efeitos adversos dos herbicidas utilizados anteriormente nas culturas em rotação. Esses efeitos são redução de produtividade e desordens fisiológicas como, por exemplo, rachaduras de tubérculos, que reduzem a qualidade e valor comercial da batata para consumo in natura ou processamento industrial. Em dois experimentos de campo foram realizadas aplicações de tembotrione e atrazine, isolados ou em mistura. Na área de Rio Paranaíba (Estado de Minas Gerais) em solo de textura argilosa, os herbicidas foram aplicados na cultura do milho (Zea mays L.) em pós-emergência e na área de Serra do Salitre (Estado de Minas Gerais) em solo de textura média, foram aplicados e incorporados um dia antes do plantio da batata. Não foram observadas injúrias na parte aérea das plantas. A produtividade de batata foi reduzida somente no solo de textura média (Serra do Salitre). O atrazine não influenciou a qualidade dos tubérculos de batata. Nas duas áreas o tembotrione causou rachaduras em tubérculos de batata “Atlantic”.

ABSTRACT. Crop rotation improves potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) crops; however, in some cases, it can have some negative effects due to the herbicides previously used in crops under rotation. These effects are the decline in the yield and the appearance of physiological disorders, including cracked tubers, which impair the quality and economic value of the potato. Two field experiments were performed with applications of tembotrione and atrazine, alone or in combination. In the Rio Paranaiba (Minas Gerais State) area, in clay soil, the herbicides were applied at post-emergence in corn (Zea mays L.). After corn harvest and soil preparation, the potatoes were planted. In the Serra do Salitre (Minas Gerais State) area, in the medium texture soil, the herbicides were applied and incorporated into the soil, and the potatoes were planted the day after. No injuries were found in the shoots. Decline in the potato yield was found only in the medium texture soil (Serra do Salitre). Atrazine did not affect the quality of potato tubers. In the two areas, tembotrione promoted cracks in “Atlantic” potato tubers.

RESUMO A cenoura é uma cultura com potencial de alto rendimento, o qual requer manejo nutricional adequado e ajustável, com base nas necessidades e demandas de cada safra. A diagnose foliar é ferramenta para ajuste e constante aprimoramento de programas de adubação das culturas. Objetivou-se determinar índices diagnósticos foliares e valores de referência pelo método de diagnose da composição nutricional (CND), para três fases fenológicas da cultura da cenoura [40 e 70 dias após a semeadura (DAS) e na colheita]. Para o cálculo do método CND, foi criado um banco de dados com teores foliares dos nutrientes N, P, K, Ca, Mg, S, B, Cu, Mn e Zn e da produtividade de raízes, em cultivos comerciais de cenoura. A ordem de limitação nutricional foi gerada em função do potencial de resposta à adubação. Aos 70 DAS e na colheita, o Mg e o Mn foram os nutrientes mais limitantes por deficiência, enquanto o Zn foi o mais limitante por excesso aos 70 DAS, e P e Ca os mais limitantes por excesso na colheita. Os resultados indicam que a diagnose foliar pelo método CND apenas mostra-se efetiva na correção de distúrbios nutricionais nas safras posteriores.

ABSTRACT Carrot has a high yield potential, which requires an adequate and adaptable nutritional management, according to the needs and demands of each crop. Foliar diagnosis is a tool for adjustment and constant improvement of crop fertilization programs. This study aimed to determine leaf indices and reference values using the compositional nutrient diagnosis (CND) method, at three phenological stages of carrot crops [40 and 70 days after sowing (DAS) and at harvest]. In order to calculate the CND method, a database was created with leaf contents of the nutrients N, P, K, Ca, Mg, S, B, Cu, Mn and Zn and root yields, in commercial carrot crops. The nutrient limitation order was generated according to the fertilization response potential. At 70 DAS and at harvest, Mg and Mn were the most limiting nutrients by deficiency, while Zn was the most limiting by excess at 70 DAS, and P and Ca were the most limiting by excess at harvest. The results indicate that the foliar diagnosis performed with the CND method is only effective for the correction of nutritional disturbances in subsequent crops.

RESUMEN El objetivo del estudio evaluó el uso de diferentes fertilizantes foliares asociados, y no asociados con metribuzina, sobre la productividad de zanahoria. Los experimentos se realizaron en dos ciclos de cultivo con un arreglo factorial 2×4 de los tratamientos. El primer factor fue la ausencia y presencia de la metribuzina (0 y 288 g ha-1 i.a.) y el segundo factor fueron los fertilizantes foliares: FertiG, FertiB, sacarosa y sin aplicación. En el primer ciclo de producción, el rendimiento comercial aumentó en la asociación de FertiG y metribuzina, la relación bifurcación/descarte total disminuyó cuando se aplica los fertilizantes foliares junto con la metribuzina. La metribuzina sola disminuyó la productividad total y la relación producción comercial/rendimiento total en el primer ciclo, sin embargo el estrés se mitigó cuando se aplicó FertiG. En el segundo ciclo, la metribuzina sola o asociada a FertiG aumentó la productividad comercial. El FertiB disminuyó la relación bifurcación/descarte total. La metribuzina sola o asociada con FertiG y FertiB obtuvieron resultados similares en la relación producción comercial/rendimiento total en el ciclo 2. FertiG atenúa satisfactoriamente el estrés causado por la metribuzina a las plantas de zanahoria con un impacto positivo en la productividad comercial del cultivo de zanahoria.

ABSTRACT This study aimed to evaluate the use of different foliar fertilizers, associated or not associated with metribuzin, in terms of carrot yield. The experiments were carried out over two crop years with treatments in a 2×4 factorial scheme. The first factor was the absence or presence of metribuzin (0 and 288 g ha-1 a.i.) and the second factor was the foliar fertilizers: FertiG, FertiB, sucrose and no application. In crop year 1, the commercial yield increased with FertiG with metribuzin, and the forked/total discard ratio decreased when the foliar fertilizers were applied together with metribuzin. The isolated metribuzin decreased the total yield and the commercial/total yield ratio in crop year 1; however, the stress was attenuated when FertiG was applied. In crop year 2, the metribuzin, isolated or associated with FertiG, increased the commercial yield. The FertiB decreased the forked/total discard ratio. The metribuzin, isolated or associated with FertiG, and FertiB obtained similar results for the commercial/total yield ratio in crop year 2. FertiG satisfactorily attenuated the stress caused by metribuzin in the carrot plants, with a positive effect on the commercial yield of the carrot crop.

RESUMO: Introdução: O peso de nascimento é considerado como um indicador importante de várias condições que se manifestam mais cedo (como mortalidade fetal e neonatal e morbidade, inibição do crescimento e desenvolvimento cognitivo) e mais tarde na vida, tais como as doenças crônicas. A poluição atmosférica tem sido associada a efeitos adversos da gestação. Objetivo: Estudo de coorte histórica que associa o baixo peso ao nascer (BPN) e a exposição materna aos poluentes do ar em Volta Redonda, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, entre 2003 e 2006. Metodologia: Dados sobre nascidos vivos foram obtidos no sistema de informação Brasileiro, e os de exposição (O3, PM10, temperatura e umidade) na rede pública de monitoramento do ar. Foram utilizados modelos lineares e logísticos, ajustados por sexo, tipo de gravidez, assistência pré-natal, local de nascimento, idade materna, paridade, educação, anomalias congênitas e variáveis meteorológicas. Resultados: A prevalência de BPN foi de 9,1% sobre 13.660 nascimentos. Para o aumento de um interquartil no nível de PM10 (OR2 ºtrimestre = 1,06; IC95% 1,02 - 1,10; OR3 ºtrimestre = 1,06; IC95% 1,02 - 1,10) e no nível de O3 (OR2 ºtrimestre = 1,03; IC95% 1,01 - 1,04; OR3 ºtrimestre = 1,03; IC95% 1,02 - 1,04). Observou-se uma relação dose-resposta e uma redução do peso ao nascer de 31,11 g (95%IC -56,64 - -5,58) no terceiro trimestre da gravidez devido ao aumento de um interquartil de O3. Conclusão: Este estudo sugere que exposições ao PM10 e O3, mesmo abaixo de padrões de qualidade do ar, contribuem para os riscos de BPN.

ABSTRACT: Introduction: Birth weight is an important indicator of several conditions that manifest earlier (as fetal and neonatal mortality and morbidity, inhibited growth and cognitive development) and later in life such as chronic diseases. Air pollution has been associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes. Objective: Retrospective cohort study investigated the association between low birth weight (LBW) and maternal exposure to air pollutants in Volta Redonda city, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 2003 to 2006. Methods: Birth data was obtained from Brazilian Information System. Exposure information (O3, PM10, temperature and humidity) was provided by Governmental Air Quality Monitoring System. Linear and Logistic models, adjusted for sex, type of pregnancy, prenatal care, place of birth, maternal age, parity, education, congenital anomalies and weather variables were employed. Results: Low birth weight (LBW) represented 9.1% of all newborns (13,660). For an interquartile range increase in PM10 it was found OR2 ndTrimester = 1.06 (95%CI 1.02 - 1.10), OR3 rdTrimester = 1.06 (95%CI 1.02 - 1.10) and, in O3 it was found OR2 ndTrimester = 1.03 (95%CI 1.01 - 1.04), OR3 rdTrimester = 1.03 (95%CI 1.02 - 1.04). The dose-response relationship and a reduction in birth weight of 31.11 g (95%CI -56.64 - -5.58) was observed in the third trimester of pregnancy due to an interquartile increase of O3. Conclusion: This study suggests that exposures to PM10 and O3, even being below the Brazilian air quality standards, contribute to risks of low birth weight.
