Resumen El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar la interferencia y determinar el nivel de daño económico (NDE) de escoba dura infestando diferentes cultivares de soja. Los tratamientos fueron cultivares de soja (NS 6909, NA 5909, DM 5958, Brasmax ELITE, Brasmax LANÇA y SYN 13561) y las densidades de escoba dura (0, 2, 3, 4, 9, 15, 16, 23, 22 y 58; 0, 2, 3, 3, 6, 6, 10, 11, 18 y 47; 0, 3, 4, 7, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15 y 24; 0, 1, 4, 6, 12, 18, 19, 31, 44 y 50; 0, 4, 5, 6, 9, 13, 17, 20, 20 y 47; e 0, 2, 3, 5, 9, 11, 15, 18, 29 y 30 plantas m-2), respectivamente, para cada cultivar. Los cultivares NS 6909, NA 5909 y Brasmax Lança son más competitivos que DM 5958, Brasmax Elite y SYN 13561. Los valores de NDE varían de 0,55 a 0,95 plantas m-2 para los cultivares NS 6909, NA 5909 y Brasmax Lança, que mostraron mejor competitividad. Los valores más bajos de NDE varían de 0,26 a 0,61 plantas m-2 para los cultivares DM 5958, Brasmax Elite y SYN 13561, los cuales mostraron menor competitividad con la maleza.

Abstract This study aimed to assess the interference and threshold level (TL) of Sida rhombifolia, the arrowleaf sida, competing with different soybean cultivars. The treatments comprised different soybean cultivars (NS 6909, NA 5909, DM 5958, Brasmax ELITE, Brasmax LANÇA, and SYN 13561) and densities of arrowleaf sida plants per square meter (m-2) (0, 2, 3, 4, 9, 15, 16, 23, 22, and 58; 0, 2, 3, 3, 6, 6, 10, 11, 18, and 47; 0, 3, 4, 7, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, and 24; 0, 1, 4, 6, 12, 18, 19, 31, 44, and 50; 0, 4, 5, 6, 9, 13, 17, 20, 20, and 47; 0, 2, 3, 5, 9, 11, 15, 18, 29, and 30, respectively) for each cultivar. Cultivars NS 6909, NA 5909, and Brasmax Lança were more competitive than DM 5958, Brasmax Elite, and SYN 13561. The TL values varied from 0.55 to 0.95 plants m-2 for cultivars NS 6909, NA 5909, and Brasmax Lança, which exhibited greater competitiveness with arrowleaf sida. The lowest values of TL varied from 0.26 to 0.61 plants m-2 for cultivars DM 5958, Brasmax Elite, and SYN 13561, which had less competitiveness with weed.

RESUMEN Entre las malezas que interfieren en el crecimiento y desarrollo del sorgo dulce se destaca el amor seco, especialmente por presentar alta capacidad competitiva por los recursos disponibles en el medio. El objetivo de este estudio es comparar la capacidad competitiva del sorgo dulce (Sorghum bicolor) frente al papunga (Bidens pilosa), en función de la proporción de cultivo y planta. Los experimentos se realizaron en un invernadero en un diseño completamente al azar, con cuatro repeticiones. Los tratamientos se organizaron en series de reemplazo en las proporciones de 100: 0, 75:25, 50:50, 25:75 y 0: 100% (sorgo: maleza) que correspondieron a 20:0, 15:5, 10:10, 5:15 y 0:20 plantas por maceta con volumen de 8 dm3 de sorgo dulce (cultivares BRS 506, BRS 509 o BRS 511) contra B. pilosa. Cincuenta días después de la emergencia, se evaluaron el área foliar de la planta (LA), la masa seca de los brotes (MS), la fotosíntesis (A) y la transpiración (E). La capacidad competitiva se analizó utilizando el método de análisis gráfico, construyendo diagramas basados en la productividad total y relativa. También se determinaron la competitividad, el coeficiente de agrupamiento y la agresividad. Los cultivares de sorgo, en general, fueron menos competitivos en todas las proporciones de B. pilosa. Hubo pequeñas diferencias en la capacidad competitiva entre los cultivares de sorgo; BRS 509 demostró ser ligeramente más competitivo que BRS 506 y BRS 511 frente al B. pilosa a. Sin embargo, es poco probable que esto proporcione una ventaja competitiva para BRS 509 en los campos de producción, por lo que B. pilosa a debe controlarse de manera eficiente al principio del ciclo de cultivo para evitar pérdidas de productividad, independientemente del cultivar de sorgo.

ABSTRACT Among the weeds that interfere with the growth and development of sweet sorghum, beggar ticks stands out, because it has a high competitive capacity for the available resources. This study aims to compare the competitive ability of sweet sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) against hairy beggarticks (Bidens pilosa L.), as a function of cultivar and plant proportion. Experiments were conducted in a greenhouse in a completely randomized design with four replications and six treatments. Treatments were arranged in replacement series in the proportions of 100:0, 75:25, 50:50, 25:75, and 0:100% (sorghum:weed) equivalent to 20:0, 15:5, 10:10, 5:15 and 0:20 plants per pot with 8 dm3 capacity of sweet sorghum (cultivars ‘BRS 506’, ‘BRS 509’ or ‘BRS 511’) against hairy beggarticks. Fifty days after emergence, plant leaf area (LA), aboveground dry mass (DM), photosynthesis (A), and transpiration rates (E) were measured. Competitive ability was analyzed by using the graphical analysis method and building diagrams based on total and relative productivity. Competitiveness, clustering coefficient, and aggressiveness were also determined. Sorghum cultivars, in general, showed losses independently of the proportion of hairy beggarticks. Statistical analysis showed small differences in competitive ability among sorghum cultivars; ‘BRS 509’ was also demonstrated to be slightly more competitive than ‘BRS 506’ and ‘BRS 511’ against hairy beggarticks. This, however, is unlikely to provide a competitive advantage for ‘BRS 509’ in production fields, and hairy beggarticks should be efficiently controlled early in the crop cycle to avoid productivity losses, independently of the sorghum cultivar.

ABSTRACT Blueberry farming can be considered an excellent alternative to diversify the family income. In addition, the fruits have several health benefits thanks to the presence of phenolic compounds and anthocyanins, however blueberries chemical composition is affected by edaphoclimatic conditions and bud position within the shoot. Therefore, the objective of the study was to evaluate the influence of the bud position on the total phenolic content, anthocyanins, antioxidant capacity, and other quality parameters of blueberry fruits of three cultivars (Climax, Bluegem, and Powderblue) grown in the mesoregion of Pelotas, Brazil. Fruits of these cultivars were harvested from three shoot position. The fruits were evaluated for their total soluble solids content, pH, total titratable acidity, total soluble solids/total titratable acidity ratio, fruit color, phenolic compounds, anthocyanins, and antioxidant potential against the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picryl-hydrazyl radical. The bud position in the shoots influenced the physicochemical parameters of the blueberry fruits of all cultivars. Fruits harvested from apical levels had higher content of soluble solids, pH, phenolic compounds, anthocyanins, and antioxidant potential, demonstrating that studies aiming at evaluating fruits from different shoot levels are important, as they directly impact the quality of the fruits as well as their biological potentials.

RESUMO O milho é um dos principais cereais cultivados no mundo e o leiteiro aparece entre as plantas daninhas que causam prejuízos na produção de grãos. Objetivou-se com o trabalho avaliar a habilidade competitiva relativa de híbridos de milho na presença de um biótipo de leiteiro, por meio de experimentos em série de substituição. Em experimentos preliminares, determinou-se a população de plantas em que a massa seca se torna constante. Tanto para os híbridos de milho Agroeste, Morgan, Nidera e Velox, quanto para o leiteiro, a população foi de 20 indivíduos vaso-1. Posteriormente foram instalados experimentos conduzidos em série de substituição, nas diferentes combinações das espécies, variando-se as proporções relativas (100:0, 75:25, 50:50, 25:75 e 0:100%). A análise da competitividade das espécies foi efetuada por meio de diagramas aplicados a experimentos substitutivos e pelos índices de competitividade relativa. A estatura (EP), índice de clorofila (IC), área foliar (AF) e a massa seca da parte aérea (MS) das plantas foram avaliadas aos 50 dias após a emergência. Ocorre competição entre os híbridos de milho com o leiteiro, sendo ambos afetados negativamente, independentemente da proporção de plantas, provocando reduções nas EP, IC, AF e MS das espécies. A competição entre o milho e leiteiro ocorre basicamente pelos mesmos recursos do meio. A competição interespecífica ocasiona maiores prejuízos ao milho e o leiteiro do que a competição intraespecífica. De modo geral observou-se que apenas os híbridos Nidera e Velox foram mais competitivos do que o leiteiro.

ABSTRACT Maize is one of the main cereals cultivated worldwide and wild poinsettia is among the weeds that cause damage in grain production. The objective of this study was to evaluate the relative competitive ability of maize hybrids in the presence of a wild poinsettia biotype through experiments in replacement series. In preliminary experiments, it was determined the plant population in which the dry mass becomes constant. For the maize hybrids ‘Agroeste’, ‘Morgan’, ‘Nidera’, and ‘Velox’, as well as the wild poinsettia, the population was 20 individuals vase-1. Subsequently, experiments were carried out in replacement series in different combinations of species that varied the relative proportions (100:0, 75:25, 50:50, 25:75, and 0:100%). The analysis of the species' competitiveness was carried out using diagrams applied to the replacement experiments and by the relative competitiveness indexes. The height (PH), chlorophyll index (CI), leaf area (LA), and the shoot dry mass (DM) of the plants were evaluated 50 days after emergence. There was competition between the maize hybrids and the wild poinsettia; both were negatively affected, regardless of the proportion of plants, causing reductions in the species' PH, CI, LA, and DM. The competition between maize and wild poinsettia occurs for the same resources in the environment, and interspecific competition caused greater damage to maize and wild poinsettia than intraspecific competition. In general, it was observed that only the hybrids ‘Nidera’ and ‘Velox’ were more competitive than the wild poinsettia.

RESUMEN Debido al aumento del consumo y las posibilidades de exportación e industrialización, el cultivo de arándanos se ha expandido en Brasil. Dado que Rabbiteye es uno de los grupos de arándanos más cultivados en Brasil, este estudio tuvo como objetivo evaluar la caracterización productiva del cultivar Bluegem de arándano, grupo Rabbiteye. Las evaluaciones se realizaron con plantas en plena producción durante dos temporadas de cosecha. Se recolectaron datos para las siguientes variables: distribución de yemas florales y vegetativas, flores abiertas y frutos formados en ramas de dos longitudes diferentes, y número de primordios florales. Los resultados mostraron mayor cantidad de yemas vegetativas y la intercalación entre yemas florales y vegetativas en una proporción de 78% y 48% en brotes largos y cortos, respectivamente. El número total de yemas y el número de yemas florales y vegetativas estuvieron influenciados por la temporada de cosecha y la longitud de los brotes. El número de primordios florales estuvo influenciado por la posición de la yema en el brote, pero no por la temporada de cosecha. El número de flores y frutos, en general, fue mayor en yemas apicales y en brotes largos.

ABSTRACT Due to the increase in consumption and the possibilities of exportation and industrialization, blueberry cultivation has been expanding in Brazil. Since Rabbiteye is one of the more cultivated groups of blueberries in Brazil, this study aimed to assess the productive characterization of the blueberry cultivar Bluegem, group Rabbiteye. Assessments were conducted with plants in full production during two harvest seasons. We collected data on the following variables: flower and vegetative bud distribution, open flowers and formed fruit in two different shoot lengths, and number of floral primordia. The results showed a greater number of vegetative buds and the intercalation between flower and vegetative buds in a proportion of 78% and 48% in long and short shoots, respectively. The number of total buds and the number of flower and vegetative buds were influenced by the harvest season and the shoot length. The number of floral primordia was influenced by the bud position on the shoot, but not by the harvest season. The number of flowers and fruits, in general, was greater in apical buds and in long shoots.

A vitivinicultura, reconhecida por sua importância econômica e social no Rio Grande do Sul, tem ampliado sua fronteira de produção para a região da Campanha. Objetivou-se com o presente trabalho avaliar o comportamento fenológico, bem como a necessidade térmica em graus-dia e a necessidade em dias, de cultivares de uvas finas destinadas à produção de vinhos, quando cultivadas na região da Campanha, local de recente introdução da espécie com caráter econômico. Os dados utilizados foram coletados em um vinhedo comercial, localizado no município de Dom Pedrito - RS, Brasil, durante as safras de 2007/2008, 2008/2009, 2009/2010, 2010/2011 e 2011/2012. Foram utilizadas as cultivares, 'Cabernet Sauvignon', 'Tannat', 'Tempranillo', 'Merlot', 'Gewurztraminer', 'Sauvignon Blanc' e 'Chardonnay'. Os resultados demonstram que as cultivares respondem de forma diferente quanto à necessidade térmica, em Graus-dia (GD), e à necessidade em dias para completar o ciclo, necessitando, em média, respectivamente, 2084 GD e 174 dias para a 'Cabernet Sauvignon', 1937 GD e 166 dias para 'Tempranillo', 1893 GD e 161dias para a 'Merlot', 1793 GD e 156 dias para 'Tannat', 1759 GD e 147 dias para a 'Sauvignon Blanc', 1689 GD e 152 dias para a 'Chardonnay' e 1606 GD e 145 dias para a 'Gewurztraminer'. The vitiviniculture, recognized for its economic and social importance in Rio Grande do Sul, has increased its production in the frontier of campaign region. The present study aimed to evaluate the phenological behavior, as well as the need for thermal degree-days and the need in days of cultivars of fine grapes intended for production wine, when cultivated in the campaign, local recent in the introduction of this species of economic nature. Data were collected in a commercial vineyard located in Dom Pedrito - RS, Brazil, during the growing seasons of 2007/2008, 2008/2009, 2009/2010, 2010/11 and 2011/12. The species cultivated were, 'Cabernet Sauvignon', 'Tannat', 'Tempranillo', 'Merlot', 'Gewurztraminer', 'Sauvignon Blanc' and 'Chardonnay'. The results demonstrated that cultivars responds differently to the need for thermal days to complete the cycle, requiring on average 2084 and 174 respectively for Cabernet Sauvignon, 1937 and 166 for 'Tempranillo', 161 and 1893 to 'Merlot', and 156 to 1793 for 'Tannat', and 147 to 1759 for 'Sauvignon Blanc', and 152 to 1689 for 'Chardonnay' and 145 to 1606 for 'Gewurztraminer'. Objetivou-se com o trabalho avaliar a habilidade competitiva relativa de cultivares de arroz na presença de um biótipo de angiquinho (Aeschynomene denticulata) em diferentes proporções substitutivas de plantas na associação. Os experimentos foram instalados no delineamento de blocos casualizados, com quatro repetições. Primeiramente, tanto para o arroz quanto para o angiquinho, determinou-se a população de plantas em que a produção final de massa seca se torna constante (24 plantas vaso–1). Posteriormente instalaram-se dois experimentos para avaliar a competitividade das cultivares de arroz BRS Querência e BRS Sinuelo CL com plantas de angiquinho, ambos conduzidos em série de substituição, nas diferentes combinações da cultura e da planta daninha, variando-se as proporções relativas de plantas vaso–1 (24:0, 18:6, 12:12, 6:18 e 0:24). A análise da competitividade das espécies foi efetuada por meio de diagramas aplicados a experimentos substitutivos e também pelos índices de competitividade relativa. Aos 50 dias após a emergência das espécies efetuou-se a aferição do perfilhamento ou do número de folhas, da estatura, da área foliar e da massa seca da parte aérea das plantas. Ocorreu competição entre as cultivares de arroz e o angiquinho, sendo ambos afetados negativamente, independentemente da proporção de plantas, provocando, em todos os casos, redução das variáveis avaliadas. Foi observado diferenciação da habilidade competitiva entre as cultivares de arroz quando na presença do angiquinho. A cultivar BRS Querência foi mais competitiva que a BRS Sinuelo CL na presença do angiquinho em todas as proporções de plantas e variáveis testadas.

This study evaluated the relative competitive ability of rice cultivars in the presence of a joint-vetch (Aeschynomene denticulata) biotype, at different replacement levels of plants in the association. The experiments were conducted in a randomized complete block design with four replications. First, it was determined the population of plants in which the final dry mass remains constant, both for the rice and for the joint-vetch (24 plants per pot). Later, two experiments were carried out to evaluate the competitiveness of the rice cultivars BRS Querência and BRS Sinuelo CL with joint-vetch plants, both conducted in replacement series, in different crop and weed combinations, varying the relative proportions of plants per pot (24:0, 18:6, 12:12, 6:18 and 0:24). Competitiveness of each species was analyzed by diagrams applied to replacement experiments and by the relative competitiveness indices. Fifty days after the emergence, tillering or number of leaves, height, leaf area and shoot dry mass were determined. Competition occurred between the rice cultivars and the joint-vetch, both were adversely affected, irrespective of the plant proportion. This resulted in reductions in all evaluated variables. Different competitive abilities were observed between rice cultivars in the presence of joint-vetch. The 'BRS Querência' was more competitive than the 'BRS Sinuelo CL' for all plant proportions and variables tested.

Objetivou-se com o trabalho avaliar os efeitos de épocas de emergência das plantas daninhas, azevém e nabo, sobre a cultura da cevada. O experimento foi conduzido em delineamento de blocos casualizados, arranjado em esquema fatorial 2x5, com três repetições. No fator A, foram alocadas as plantas competidoras (azevém e nabo) e no B as épocas de emergência (14 e 07 dias antes, no mesmo dia, 07 e 14 dias depois da emergência da cultura). No início da floração da cevada, foram mensuradas as variáveis: estatura das plantas, número de colmos ou caules, área foliar e matéria seca da parte aérea da cultura e das plantas daninhas. Todas as variáveis avaliadas da cevada apresentaram aumento de valor com o atraso da emergência das plantas daninhas. As espécies, cultivada ou daninhas, que emergiram antes, apresentaram maior habilidade competitiva, dominando o ambiente quando emergiram 14 dias antes uma da outra. Quanto mais tarde ocorrer a emergência das plantas daninhas com relação à cultura, menor é a interferência e, desse modo, maior é a habilidade da cevada em competir com a espécie daninha pelos recursos disponíveis no meio.

The objective was to evaluate the effects of times of emergence of the weed ryegrass species and wild radish on barley. The experiment was conducted in a randomized block design, arranged in a 2x5 factorial design, with three replicates. In factor A were allocated the competing species (ryegrass and wild radish) and in factor B the emergence periods (14 and 7 days before, on the same day, 7 and 14 days after crop emergence). At the beginning of barley flowering, the following variables were quantified: plant height, number of stalks or stems, leaf area, and shoot dry mass of crop and weeds. All barley variables had increased in value with the delay in weed emergence. The species, cultivated or weeds, that emerged earlier showed greater competitive ability, dominating the environment when emerging 14 days before each other. The later the emergence of weeds with respect to the crop, the less the interference they cause, and, thereby, the crop presents a greater ability to compete with the weeds for available resources in the environment.

O presente trabalho objetivou avaliar a produção, o retorno da floração e a qualidade físico-química dos frutos de pessegueiro após a utilização de Promalin® (BA + GA4+7) em diferentes doses e épocas de aplicação. O experimento foi realizado no Centro Agropecuário da Palma, na Universidade Federal de Pelotas, no município do Capão do Leão - RS, no ano de 2012. Foram utilizados pessegueiros do cultivar Jubileu, com 13 anos de idade, enxertados sobre o portaenxerto Capdeboscq e com densidade de 1.481 plantas ha-1. Os tratamentos foram: plantas sem aplicação (controle), plantas tratadas com benziladenina (BA) + giberilinas (GA4+7) nas doses de 50 e 100 mg L-1, aplicados 10 dias após a plena floração (DAPF) e 30 DAPF. Foram avaliados a produtividade das plantas e os atributos de qualidade físico-química dos frutos. A aplicação do fitorregulador a 30 DAPF resultou em um incremento de 6,62 kg por planta e proporcionou frutos de maior calibre (> 65 mm); no entanto, não houve diferença estatística entre as doses de 50 e 100 mg L-1. Independentemente das doses utilizadas neste trabalho, a época de aplicação (30 DAPF) foi o fator preponderante para a eficiência dos fitorreguladores no aumento da produção por planta, massa média, diâmetro e firmeza de polpa dos frutos de pessegueiro cv. Jubileu. O número total de gemas floríferas nos ramos é reduzido com a aplicação BA + GA4+7.

This study aimed to evaluate the yield, return of flowering and physico-chemical fruit quality of peaches after using Promalin® (BA + GA4+7) at different doses and time of application. The experiment was conducted at Agricultural Center of Palma on Pelotas Federal University, Capão do Leão - RS, in 2012. Peach trees of cultivar Jubileu, 13 years old, grafted on Capdeboscq rootstock, at a density of 1.481 plants ha-1 were evaluated. The treatments consisted of: plants without application (control), plants treated with benzyladenine (BA) + gibberellin (GA4+7) at the doses 50 and 100 mg L-1, applied at 10 and 30 days after full bloom (DAFB) . We evaluated the tree yield, return of flowering and physico-chemical quality of fruit. Application of plant growth regulator at 30 DAFB resulted in increase of 6.62 kg per tree and fruits of larger caliber (> 65 mm), but no significant difference was found between the doses 50 mg L-1 and 100 mg L-1. Regardless of the doses used in this study, the time of application (30 DAFB) was the main factor for the efficiency of the growth regulators in increasing the production per tree, average mass, diameter and pulp firmness of Jubileu peaches . The total number of flowers was reduced with the application of BA + GA4+7.

As pequenas frutas, como o mirtilo (Vaccinium spp.), apresentam propriedades nutricionais e alto potencial antioxidante. Práticas de manejo como a época de poda podem provocar diferentes respostas nas plantas, devido a alterações nas condições climáticas a que as plantas estarão expostas durante seu período reprodutivo. O objetivo do presente trabalho foi avaliar o efeito da poda seca sobre a produção e atributos de qualidade dos frutos de mirtileiro, cultivares Clímax, Bluegem e Powderblue, nas condições da mesorregião de Pelotas, RS. Foram utilizadas plantas adultas de mirtileiro (Vaccinium spp.) de pomar comercial, localizado no município de Morro Redondo, RS. Plantas em diferentes parcelas foram submetidas a podas em duas datas: poda 1 em 10 de julho de 2012 e a poda 2 em 10 de agosto de 2012. Frutos colhidos no estadio de maturação completa foram avaliados quanto a produção, teor de sólidos solúveis (SS), acidez total titulável (ATT), pH, cor (ºHue), teor de compostos fenólicos totais, teor de antocianinas totais e potencial antioxidante. A época da poda seca influenciou de forma significativa a produção e os atributos de qualidade dos frutos de mirtilo. A poda, quando realizada na época 1, ocasionou maior produção, entretanto foi na época de poda 2 que as cultivares apresentaram maior teor de compostos fenólicos. As cultivares Bluegem e Powderblue apresentaram ainda maior potencial antioxidante e maior teor de antocianinas.

Small fruit such as blueberry (Vaccinium spp.) present nutraceutical properties and elevated antioxidant potential. Cultural practices such as pruning time can promote various responses in the plants due to the changed environmental conditions that the plants are exposed during their reproductive period. The objective of this study was to evaluate pruning time on production and fruit quality attributes of cultivars Clímax, Bluegem and Powderblue, cultivated in the mesorregion of Pelotas, RS. Adult blueberry plants (Vaccinium spp.) of a commercial orchard, located in Morro Redondo, RS were utilized. Plants of different parcels were submitted to one pruning at different time: pruning 1, in July 10th 2012 and pruning 2 in August 10th 2012. Fruit harvested at the full ripe stage were evaluated for production, soluble solids content (SSC), total titratable acidity (TTA), pH, color (ºHue), total phenolic content, total anthocyanin content and antioxidant potential. Pruning time significantly influenced production and quality attributes of blueberry fruit. Pruning 1 lead to higher production, however, plants pruned at time 2 showed higher phenolic content and cultivars Bluegem and Powderblue also had higher antioxidant potential and higher anthocyanin content.

O mirtileiro possui frutos com alto potencial antioxidante e nutracêutico. Este potencial pode ser influenciado pela severidade da poda nas plantas, principalmente em função do impacto na produção e dos efeitos do aumento da radiação solar incidente sobre os frutos. O objetivo do presente trabalho foi avaliar o efeito da intensidade da poda seca sobre a produção e os atributos de qualidade dos frutos de mirtileiro das cultivares Clímax, Bluegem e Powderblue, produzidas na mesorregiäo de Pelotas-RS. Para tal, foi conduzido um experimento no município de Morro Redondo-RS, durante a safra de 2012/2013, sendo utilizadas as cultivares grupo "Rabbiteye", Clímax, Bluegem e Powderblue. A poda foi realizada em três níveis de remoção de ramos: normal, média e leve, no dia 20 de julho de 2012. A intensidade de poda seca exerceu influência sobre a produção e o teor de fitoquímicos dos frutos de mirtileiros. A produção das plantas submetidas a poda leve foi maior que as submetidas a poda média e normal, sendo o mesmo observado em relação ao teor de compostos fenólicos das cvs. Bluegem e Powderblue, enquanto para o teor de antocianinas, a intensidade de poda teve efeito distinto sobre os atributos de qualidade físico-química das diferentes cultivares.

Blueberry plants possess fruit with high antioxidant and nutraceutical potential. This potential can be influenced by pruning severity, especially due to the impact in production and the effects of increased solar radiation on the fruit. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the effect of dry pruning intensity on the production and quality attributes of blueberry fruit from cultivars, Clímax, Bluegem and Powderblue, produced in the mesoregion of Pelotas, RS. For such, an experiment was conducted in Morro Redondo, RS during the growing season 2012/2013, using cultivars of the "Rabbiteye" group, Clímax, Bluegem and Powderblue. Pruning was performed at three intensity, normal, average e light levels on July 20th 2012. Dry pruning intensity influenced production and phytochemical content of blueberry fruit. The production of plants applied the light intensity pruning was higher than the production of plants applied medium and normal intensity, the same was observed in relation to the phenolic content of cv. Bluegem and Powderblue. For anthocyanin content, and other quality attributes pruning intensity had a distinct effect on the quality attributes of the different cultivars.

O presente trabalho teve por objetivo determinar a influência da desfolha e da época da poda seca sobre o albedo e sobre a radiação solar disponível ao nível dos cachos e determinar o efeito da radiação solar sobre o acúmulo de sólidos solúveis da videira. Foram realizadas duas épocas de poda seca e a desfolha em parte do vinhedo da cultivar Bordô conduzida no sistema pérgula. A radiação solar foi medida utilizando-se tubos solarímetros instalados em cada tratamento, sendo o teor de sólidos solúveis determinado no momento da colheita, com um refratômetro de campo. A realização da poda seca exerceu influência sobre o albedo, sendo que o maior albedo da videira Bordô é observado quando a poda seca ocorreu na época normal (meados de setembro) e sem desfolha. Para o período compreendido entre a poda e a desfolha, o albedo variou entre 0,28 e 0,30. Os resultados demonstram que o adiamento da poda seca representa redução na quantidade de radiação solar disponível ao nível dos cachos, ao mesmo tempo em que a realização da desfolha propicia aumento na radiação que incide ao nível dos cachos. O acúmulo de sólidos solúveis está relacionado com a radiação solar disponível ao nível dos cachos.

In this study, we aimed to evaluate the influence of defoliation and dry pruning time on the albedo and solar radiation available at the level of clusters and to determine the effect of the latter on the accumulation of soluble solids in grapevines. Two periods of dry pruning and defoliation in part of a Bordô cultivar vineyard grown in pergola system were carried out. Solar radiation was measured using solar meter tubes installed for each treatment. The soluble solids content was determined at harvest using a field refractometer. The dry pruning exerted influence on the albedo, while the highest albedo of the Bordô vine was observed when the dry pruning occurred in the normal season (mid-September) and without defoliation. The albedo ranged from 0.28 to 0.30 during the defoliation period. The results showed that a delay of the dry pruning represents a reduction in the amount of solar radiation available at the grape clusters, while defoliation provides an increase in the incident radiation at the level of clusters. The accumulation of soluble solids is related to the solar radiation available at the level of clusters - the higher the radiation available, the higher the accumulation of soluble solids.
