Em experimento conduzido em Latossolo Vermelho-Amarelo distrófico, em área da EMBRAPA - CPPSE em São Carlos, situada a 22°01'S e 47°53'W, com altitude de 856 m e média de precipitação anual de 1502 mm, procedeu-se a determinação da composição bromatológicade folhas, hastes com diâmetro menor que 6 mm e vagens, de genótipos de leucena. Os genótipos avaliados, foram: L.leucocephala cv. Texas 1074 (TI), L.leucocephala 29 A9 (T2), L.leucocephala 11 x L.dlversifolia 25 (T3), L.leucocephala 11 x L.diversifolia 26 (T4), L.leucocephala 24-19/2-39 x L.diverstfolia 26 (T5) e L.leucocephala c v. Cunningham (testemunha). Verificou-se que: os genótipos avahados não apresentaram diferenças nas determinações bromatológicas, realizadas nas folhas e talos finos; o genótipo T3 registrou o maior teor de proteína bruta (28,06%), de fósforo (0,29%) e a maior relação PB/FDN e o menor teor de FDN para vagens; os genótipos apresentaram os seguintes teores médios, em porcentagem, para a composição bromatológicadas folhas, vagens e talos finos, respectivamente: Proteína bruta (18,57; 21,68; 6,41); Fibra detergente neutro (29,09; 41,58; 71,01); Fósforo (0,12; 0,22; 0,06); Cálcio (1,39; 0,36; 0,49); Magnesio (0,51; 0,28; 0,24); Tanino (1,32; 1,15; 0,28) e Digestibilidade "in vitro" (58,39; 61,22; 33,61); os teores de proteína e fósforo apresentaram a seguinte ordem decrescente nas partes das plantas: vagens > folhas > talos finos; os teores de cálcio: folhas > talos finos > vagens e de magnésio: folhas > vagens > talos finos.

In a trial conducted on a distrofic Red-Yellow Latossol, at EMBRAPA-CPPSE, São Carlos, located at 22°01'S and 47'53'W, altitude of 856 m and with a mean annual rainfall of 1502 mm, the bromatological composition of leaves, stems smaller than 6 mm diameter and pods of leucena genotypes was determined. The genotypes evaluated were: L.leucocephala cv. Texas 1074 (T1), L.leucocephala 29 A9 (T2), L.leucocephala 11 x L.dlversifolia 25 (T3), L.leucocephala 11 x L.diverstfolia 26 (T4), L.leucocephala 24-19/2-39 x L.diversifolia 26 (T5) and L.leucocephala cv. Cunningham (control). It was found that: - The evaluated genotypes did not show differences among themselves for bromatological determinations on leaves and fine stems; - T3 genotype had the greatest content of crude protein (28.06%), phosphorus (0.29%), the greatest PB/FDN relation, and the smaller FDN content of pods; - The genotypes presented the following average percentual contents of the bromatological composition of leaves, pods and stems smaller than 6 mm diameter, respectively: Crude Protein (18.57; 21.68; 6.41); Neutral detergent fiber (29.09; 41.58; 71.01); Phosphorus (0.12; 0.22; 0.06); Calcium (1.39; 0.36; 0.49); Magnesium (0.51; 0.28; 0.24); Tannin (1.32; 1.15; 0.28) and "in vitro" digestibility (58J9; 61.22; 33.61); - Protein and phosphorus contents presented the following decreasing order in plant parts: pods > leaves > stems smaller than 6 mm diameter; calcium contents: leaves > stems smaller than 6 mm diameter > pods; and the magnesium: leaves > pods > stems smaller than 6 mm diameter.

Para avaliar genótipos promissores de Leucaena spp., foi instalado experimento em Latossolo Vermelho-Amarelo distrófico, na área da EMBRAPA-CPPSE em São Carlos, situada a 22°01'S e 47°53'W, com altitude de 856 m e média de precipitação anual de 1502 mm. Foram testados os seguintes genótipos: Leucaena leucocephala cv. Texas 1074 (T1), L.leucocephala 29 A9 (T2), L.leucocephala 11 x L.diversifolia 25 (T3), L.leucocephala 11 x L.leucocephala 26 (T4), L.leucocephala 24-19/2-39 X L.diversifolia 26 (T5) e L.leucocephala cv. Cunningham (testemunha). Através das avaliações efetuadas durante o período de estabelecimento (15 meses), verificou-se que: a) as plantas de L.leucocephala 24-19/2-39 x L.diversifolia 26 se mostraram mais ramificadas e com maior produção de sementes; b) as plantas de L.leucocephala 11 x L.diversifolia 26 apresentaram a maior produção de matéria seca consumível; c) os materiais apresentaram brotação após o corte, semelhante ou inferior à testemunha.

To test promising genotypes of Leucaena spp., selected in a breeding program, an experiment was conducted in a distrofic Red-Yellow Latossol, at the experimental station of EMBRAPA/CPPSE, São Carlos,SP, located at 22°01' and 47°53'W, altitude of 856 m and with a mean annual precipitation of 1502 mm. The following genotypes were tested: L.leucocephala cv. Texas 1074 (T1), L.leucocephala 29 A9 (T2), L.leucocephala 11 x L.diversifolia 25 (T3), L.leucocephala 11 x L.diversifolia 26 (T4), L.leucocephala 24-19/2-39 x L.diversifolia 26 (T5) and L.leucocephala cv. Cunningham (control). Evaluations were performed during the establishment period (fifteen months) and it was concluded that: a) the plants of L.leucocephala 24-19/2-39 x L.diversifolia 26, with early flowering, were the most branched and presented the greatest seed yield; b) the plants of L.leucocephala 11 x L.diversifolia 26, showed the greatest edible dry matter yield; c) the genotypes presented similar or worse growth, than the control, after each harvest.

Foram realizados experimentos em casa de vegetação, na Escola Superior de Agricultura "Luiz de Queiroz", USP, em Piracicaba, SP, com amostras de terra do horizonte A1 ou Ap e B2 de um Oxisol (LR) e um Alfisol (PVp), sem e com adubação mineral e calagem, para verificar qual é a porcentagem de poros com diâmetro maior que 0,05 mm, numa faixa de 3 a 24%, que corresponde a máxima produção de grãos de feijoeiro cultivar Aroana 80. 0 conteúdo de água, dos 2,5 litros de terra por vaso, foi mantido entre 100 e 70% da capacidade de vaso. Pode ser constatada uma faixa preferencial entre 9 e 16% de poros de aeração, sendo deslocada para uma faixa entre 24 e 29% de macroporos, quando ocorrer maior taxa de acúmulo de matéria seca, e provavel menor fornecimento de O2 nos pontos de crescimento radicular em solos com agregados pequenos de grande estabilidade e maior conteúdo de água.

Experiments were carried out in greenhouse, at ESALQ/USP, in Piracicaba, state of São Paulo, Brazil, with soil samples of the A1 or Ap and B2 horizon of an Oxisol (LR) and an Alfisol (PVp) , without and with mineral fertilizer and lime , to verify the optimum aeration porosity, between 3 and 24%, for the maximal yield of common bean, cv. Aroana 80. The water content in the 2,5 1 of the soil sample in the pot was maintained between 100 and 70% of the field capacity. A preferential range (9 - 16%) of macropores or aeration pores (diameter greater than 0,05 mm) could be verified. And deslocated to a range between 24 and 29% of macropores, when a higher dry matter accumalation rate occur, besides a probably lower oxygen supply to the growth points of the roots in soils with small aggregates extremely water stable and with a higher water content.

Foram realizados experimentos em casa de vegetação, na Escola Superior de Agricultura "Luiz de Queiroz" - USP, em Piracicaba, SP, com amostras de terra do horizonte A e B2 de um Oxisol (LR) e um Alfisol (PVp), sem e com calagem e adubação mineral, para verificar a influência da variação da porosidade de aeração (5,1 a 28,7%) sobre o comportamento do feijoeiro Aroana 80. O conteúdo de água dos 2,5 litros de terra por vaso foi mantido entre 100 e 70% da capacidade de campo. Foi constatado que a porosidade de aeração afeta a produção de grãos (1,5 a 20,8/planta), além da matéria seca radicular, da parte aérea, da matéria seca total e a relação parte aérea/raízes (3,1 a 12,7). Não influenciou o peso de mil grãos (135 a 254 g), o índice de colheita (0,18 a 0,50), a eficiência no uso de água (428 a 911 ml/g m.s. e 854 a 419 ml/g grãos) e o ciclo da cultura (86 a 101 dias). O nível de fertilidade afetou praticamente todos os dados considerados.

Experiments were carried out in greenhouse, at ESALQ-USP, in Piracicaba, Brazil, with soil samples of the A and B2 horizon of an Oxisol (LR) and an Alfisol (PVp), without and with lime and mineral fertilizer, to verify the influence of the aeration porosity (5,1 to 28,7%) on the behaviour of the common bean Aroana 80. The water content in the 2,5 liter soil per pot, was mantained between 100 and 70% of the field capacity. It could by verified an influence of the macroporosity (diameter bigger than 50μm) on the grain number and weight, root and above ground part dry matter yield, and the ratio above ground part/root (3,1 to 12,7). It did not affect the thousand grain weight (135 to 254 g), the harcest index (0,18 to 0,50), the water use eficiency (428 to 911 ml/g dry matter, and 854 to 4196 ml/g grain) and the vegetative cycle (86 to 101 days). The soil fertility level affected all the data considered.

Foram realizados experimentos em casa de vegetação, na ESALQ-USP, em Piracicaba, SP, com amostras de terra do horizonte A e B2 de um Oxisol (LR) e um Alfisol(PVp) sem e com adubação mineral e calagem, para verificar a influência da variação na porosidade de aeração (de 24 a 3%) sobre parâmetros nutricionais do feijoeiro Aroana 80, conduzido até o final do ciclo. Procurou-se alcançar a saturação do complexo de troca em 80% com bases, numa relação Ca:Mg:K de 16:4:1, e um nível de P disponível de 15 ppm. 0 conteúdo de água dos 2,5 litros de terra por vaso foi mantido entre 100 e 70% da capacidade de campo. A redução na porosidade de aeração afetou genericamente o teor absoluto e relativo de P e a relação N/P. Alterou a eficiência nutricional do N no horizonte B2 de ambos os solos, de Cu no LR e de Mn no PVp, em ambos os horizontes. Ocorreram especificidades quanto ao tipo de solo e horizonte e interferência do nível de fertilidade.

Experiments were carried out in greenhou se, at ESALQ/USP, in Piracicaba, SP, Brazil, with soil samples of the A and B² horizon of an Oxisol (LR) and an Alfisol (PVp), without and with mineral fertilizer and lime to achieve a CEC saturation of 80% and a Ca:Mg:K relation of 16:4:1, besides a disponible P level of 15 ppm, to verify the influence of the variation of the aeration porosity (from 24 to 3%) on the behavior of the nutrients in common bean, cultivar Aroana 80. The water content in the 2,5 liter soil per pot, was mantained between 100 and 70% of the field capacity. The decrease of aeration porosity affected in general the absolute and relative level of P, and the N/P relation. Changed the nutritional eficiency of N in the B² horizon of both soils, of the Cu in the Oxisol and of the Mn in the Alfisol, in both horizons. The occorence of specific behavior of the soil type and horizon, and the interference of the fertility level was noted.

Foi realizado um experimento em casa de vegetação com terra do horizonte A de um Oxisol (LR) e de um Alfisol (PVp), confinados em vasos com capacidade para 3,8 litros, cultivada com duas variedades de feijoeiro, em parcelas sem e com adubo mineral. As terras foram submetidas à compactação e mantidas à umidade entre 100 e 300 mbares de tensão. A matéria seca, que normalmente reduziu seu acúmulo com o aumento do nível de compactação, teve seu compartamento afetado pelo nível de fertilidade, mas sua intensidade de acúmulo afetada pelo tipo de solo. Considerando os valores absolutos dos elementos acumulados, verificou-se que o nível de fertilidade afeta o comportamento de N, P, Ca, B, Cu e Fe considerando a parte aérea, e o comportamento de K, Mg e Zn na parte radicular. Considerando os valores relativos, o nível de fertilidade afeta somente o comportamento de Ca, Zn e B na parte aérea de feijoeiro, e o comportamento de Ca, Zn , B, Fe e Mn no sistema radicular.

A greenhouse experiment were conduced with soil of the A horizon of an Oxisol (LR) and an Alfisol (PVp), confined in 3,8 liter pots, and cultivated with two bean cultivars, with and without fertilizer. The soil samples were subjected to compaction and mantained with a soil water tension between 100 to 300 mbars. The dry matter,wich normaly reduce the accumulation with the compaction level, had his behavior afected by the fertility level, but the intensity of accumulation afected by the soil type. Considering the absolute values of the elements accumulated, it could be verify that the fertility level afect the behavior of N, P, Ca , B, Cu and Fe, considering the shoots, and K, Mg and Zn considering the roots. The relative values inform that the fertility level only afect the behavior of Ca , Zn and B in the shoots and of Ca, Zn, B, Fe and Mn in the roots.

Foi conduzido um experimento em casa de vegetação usando quatro cultivares de sorgo sacarino: CMSXS603, Br 500, Sart e Br 602, em solução nutritiva de Hoagland e Arnon nº 1 modificada para a soluçao padrão contendo os tratamentos (níveis de Al, P, Ca). Após a colheita foram determinados os pesos da matéria seca da raiz e parte aérea e os teores de P, K, Ca, Mg e Al. Verificou-se que: a) o alumínio reduziu a produção de matéria seca dos cultivares sendo a parte aérea mais afetada que a radicular. Entretanto, a quantidade de matéria seca do sistema radicular refletiu melhor a tolerância relativa dos cultivares. b) o aumento dos níveis de Ca no substrato proporcionou um aumento na tolerância ao Al, desde que o P estivesse em alta concentração, c) quando comparados os tratamentos que acarretaram as maiores e menores produções de matéria seca na presença de Al e tolerância ao mesmo, os teores dos elementos Ca, Mg, K, P e Al na parte aérea dos cultivares foram diferentes. O elemento fósforo foi mais importante para conferir tolerância ao alumínio no tecido radicular e na parte aérea.

Four sweet sorghum cultivars, CMSXS603 Br 500, Sart and Br 602 were grown in nutrient solution with varying levels of Al, P and Ca in a fatorial design. Main conclusions were the following: (1) Aluminum reduced top dry matter more severely than root weight. Root development, however provided a better indication of the relative tolerance to aluminum toxicity. (2) As long as P was sufficiently high in the nutrient solution, raising the Ca level increased tolerance of the various cultivars to high levels of Al in the substrate. (3) The diferent levels of Al in the nutrient solution affected the content of Ca, Mg, K and P in the tops. (4) Phosphorus levels in the nutrient solution were the single most important factor to increase tolerance to Al toxicity.

Dois cultivares de feijoeiro foram cultivados sobre amostras de terra de um Oxisol (LR) e de um Alfisol (PVp), adubadas e nao adubadas, sujeitas a 3 níveis de compactação, e confinadas em vasos com capacidade para 3,8 litros. Os dados obtidos permitiram concluir que com o aumento da compactação do solo existe uma tendência genérica para a parte aérea ao final do ciclo, de aumento na eficiência nutricional do K e de redução do Mg, Ca, P, N, Cu e Fe. O comportamento de Zn, B, Mn é influenciado mais intensamente pelo tipo de solo, nível de fertilidade e cultivar.

Two cultivars of common bean were grown in soil samples of an Oxisol (LR) and an Alfisol (PVp), with and without fertilizer, subjected to three compaction levels , and confined in 3.8 liter pots. The data showed that with the increase on soil compaction, there was a general tendency, in the above ground part at the end stage, to increase the nutritional efficiency of K and to decrease of the N, P, Mg, Ca, Cu and Fe. The behavior of Zn, B and Mn was influenced more intensively by the soil type, the soil fertility and the cultivar.

Foi realizado um experimento em casade-vegetação com terra do horizonte A de um Oxisol (LR) e de um Alfisol(PVp) sem e com adubo mineral, confinada em vasos com capacidade para 3,8 litros, plantada com dois cultivares de feijoeiro. As terras foram submetidas à compactação e mantidas ã umidade entre 100 a 3OO mbares de tensão. Foram feitas colheitas ã florada e ao final do ciclo (67 dias após a emergência). Verificou-se variação diferencial de acúmulo de matéria seca em função do cultivar, estádio da cultuva, nível de fertilidade e de compactação do solo. De uma maneira geral, no final do ciclo vegetativo o acúmulo de matéria seca estava relacionado à macroporosidade existente no solo, parecendo haver uma faixa ideal para o acúmulo máximo, aquém ou além do qual ele tende a decrescer. A influência maior da compactação ocorreu nas parcelas adubadas. Na parte aérea ocorreu tendência genérica de aumento na concentração de Mg (até 26,3%), além de Ca e N, e redução de K. Nas raízes, aumentos de Mg e K, bem como redução de N. No final do ciclo, verificou-se a tendência de acúmulo de Mg e redução de K e N na parte aérea, e de redução de Ca, P e N nas raízes, considerando o Oxisol. No Alfisol constatou-se uma tendência genérica de aumento no acúmulo de Mg e N e de redução de K na parte aérea, bem como de redução na extração de Ca e K pelas raízes.

Pot trials with fertilized and non fertilized soil samples of the A horizon from an Oxisol (LR) and an Alfisol (PVp) , confined in 3,8 liter pots, and cropped with two common bean cultivars, were conducted in greenhouse. The soil samples were subjected to compaction forces, and mantained with a soil water tension between 100 and 300 mbars . The beans were harvested at the flowering stage and at 67 days after emergency (maturity). It could be verified a diferential variation in dry matter production due to the genotype, the cultural stage, fertility and compaction levels of the soils. In general, at the end stage of the culture, the dry matter accumulation is related with the soil macroporosity. It seems to exist an ideal zone for maximal accumulation, below and above of which, there is a tendency to decrease. The major influence of the compaction occured on the fertilized pots. In the above ground part occured the general tendency of increase on the Mg concentration (up to 26.3%), besides on Ca and N, and the decrease on the K level. In the roots the tendency was of increase on the Mg and the K, and reduce on the N concentrations. At the end stage it could be verified a general tendency in increase on accumulation of Mg and the decrease on K an( N in the drave ground part, and the decrease on and the Ca, P and N in the roots, considering the Oxisol. In the Alfisol, it could be verified a general tendency in increase on the accumulation of Mg and N, besides the decrease on K In the shoots, and the decrease on Ca and K in the roots.

Com a finalidade de observar a influência da compactação do solo sobre a concentração e acúmulo de Al e micronutrientes por 2 cultivares de feijoeiro, crescendo sobre amostras de terra de um Oxisol (LR) e um Alfisol (PVp), sem e com adubo mineral, foi realizado um experimento em vasos, com capacidade para 3,8 litros. Pode ser verificado, na parte aérea ao final do cíclo, uma redução no teor e acúmulo de Al nas parcelas adubadas, e de elevação nas parcelas sem adubo.Nas raízes ocorreu uma redução no acúmulo de Al nas parcelas sem e com adubo, em ambos os solos. A exceção do cobre que apresentou a tendência genérica de aumentar seu teor na parte aérea, com a compactação, os outros elementos apresentaram comportamento específico em função do tipo de solo, nível de fertilidade e cultivar. Ao final do ciclo, pôde ser verificada uma tendência genérica de aumento no acúmulo de Fe e B, e redução de Zn no Oxisol, e redução de Mn, Zn e B no Alfisol, quando considerada a parte aérea. Nas raízes ocorreu uma redução na extração de todos os micronutrientes.

With the goal to observe the influence of the soil compaction on the concentration and accumulation of the Al and the micronutrients by 2 bean cultivars growing on soil samples of an Oxisol (LRT and an Alfisol (PVp), with and without fertilizer, a 3,8 liter pot experiment was carried out. It could be verified, at the end of the growing stage, a reduction of the con-contration and accumulation of the Al in the fertilized pots, and the increase in the not fertilized pots. In the roots occured a decrease on the accumulati on of Al in both fertilized and not fertilized soils. With increasing compaction, Cu presented a general tendency to increase in the shoots, and the other micronutrients (Zn, B, Fe, Mn) showed a specific behavior due to the soil type, the fertility level and the cultivar. At the end of the growing cycle, it could be verified a general tendency in increase on accumulation of Fe and B, ana decrease on Zn in the Oxisol, and decrease on the Mn, Zn and B accumulation in the Alfisol, considering the above ground part. In the roots all micronutrients decreased their accumulation.

No experimento foram utilizadas amostras de terra de um Oxísol (LR) e um Alfisol (PVp) , horizontes A e B2, sujeitas à compactação. Foram confinadas em vasos com capacidade para 3,8 litros, incubadas durante 80 dias e cultivadas com feijoeiro durante 67 dias, numa faixa de umidade correpondente à tensão entre 100 e 300 mbares. Através das análises físicas, pode-se verificar a ocorência de aumento da densidade do solo e redução da porosidade total, macroporosidade e condutívidade hidráulica saturada. Os microporos e poros bloqueados sofreram aumento no LR e redução no PVp. A amostra de terra do LR-B2 mostrou ser menos suscetível à compactação, enquanto que a do PVp-B2 mostrou ser a mais suscetível, seguida do LR-Al e PVp-Ap. As análises químicas revelaram tendências de aumento no teor de carbono no horizonte A sem adubo e redução no com adubo, no LR e PVp com o aumento da compactação. Verificou-se também redução do P disponível e aumento do Mg trocável nas parcelas sem e com adubo, no horizonte A de ambos os solos, com aumento da compactação.

Soil samples of an orthic Haplacrox (LR) and an ochrultic Typustalf (PVp) were used In this experiments, including the A and B2 horizon, subject to compaction. They were confined in 3,8 1 pots, and incubated during 80 days (cultivated with beans during 67 days), with a soil water tension between 100 to 300 mbars. The physical determinations showed an increase of the soil bulk density, and a decrease of the total porosity and the saturated hydraulic conductivity. The micropores and bloqued pores increased in LR an decreased in PVp. The soil samples of the LR-B2 were less susceptible to changes due compaction, while of the PVp-B2 were the most susceptible, followed by those of the LR-A1 and the PVp-Ap. The chemical data showed tendencies of increase of the carbon level in the A horizon without fertilizer, and decrease with fertilizer, on LR and PVp with compaction increase. They also showed decrease of the available P and increase of the exchangeable Al with fertilizer, and reduction of the exchangeable Mg without and with fertilizer in the A horizon of both soils, as the compaction was increased.

Dois cultivares de feijoeiro foram cultivados em amostras de terra de um Oxisol (LR) e de um Alfisol (PVp), sem e com adubo, sujeitas a três níveis de compactação, e confinadas em vasos com capacidade para 3.8 litros. A finalidade foi a de observar o comportamento diferencial de um cultivar considerado tolerante e de outro sensível ao Al e baixo teor de P disponível no solo. Os dados levantados permitiram verificar que o cultivar tolerante apresenta maior desenvolvimento radicular e menor de parte aérea, tendência de acúmulo preferencial de P, K, Mg, Zn e Fe nas raízes e de Ca e Mg na parte aérea, independente do tipo de solo, nível de fertilidade e de compactação. Além disso, apresenta maior sensibilidade à compactação em substrato mais fértil quando é considerado o acúmulo de matéria seca da parte aérea.

Two common bean cultivars were grown on soil samples of an Oxisol (LR) and Alfisol (PVp), with and without fertilizer, subjected to 3 levels of compaction, and confined in 3,8 liter pots. The objective was to observe the diferential behavior of a bean cultivar considered tolerant and another sensible to the Al and the low P level in the soil. The harvested data permit to verify that the tolerant cultivar presents a greater root and a smaler shoot development (in weight), with the tendency to a preferential accumulation of P, K, Mg, Zn and Fe by the roots and of Ca and Mg by the top, independent of soil type, fertility and compaction level. Besides this presents a greater sensibility to compaction on substract with a higher fertility level, when considered the accumulation of dry matter of the shoot.

Amostras dos horizontres A e B2 de um Oxisol (LR) e de um Alfisol (PVp) submetidas à compactação, cuja intensidade foi determinada através da medida da resistência à penetração de penotrógrafo de cone de 0-8, 8-17,6 kg/cm²,foram cultivadas com feijoeiro cultivar Rio Pardo 836 durante 67 dias, em vasos com 3,8 litros de terra, em casa de vegetação, com a unidade na faixa correspondente às tensões entre 100 a 300 m bares . Foi verificado que a produção de matéria seca vegetal parece correlacionar-se melhor com a porcentagem de poros de aeração efetiva, daí parecer ser esta propriedade o melhor indicador para a produção de matéria seca para diferentes solos, com diferentes níveis de compactação. Os parâmetros físicos densidade do solo, condutividade hidráulica saturada e resistência mecânica ã penetração de pene trômetro parecem não serem bons indicadores gerais.

Soil samples of the A and B2 horizons of an Oxisol (LR) and.an Alfisol (PVp) were subjected to compaction, to offer resistance to cone penetrograph penetration of 0 - 8,8 - 17,6 kg/cm2. The soil samples were cultivated with common bean, cultivar Rico Pardo 896, during 67 days, In 3,8 liter pots in geenhouse, with the soil water content between the tension levels of 100 to 300 mbars. It could be verified, considering the different soil samples, that the dry matter production seems to correlate better with the efective aeration porosity. So it seems to be the better indicator for the plant dry matter production tendency in different soils, with different compaction degrees. The parameters soil bulk density, saturated hydraulic conductivity an mechanical resistance to penetro-graph did not seem good general indicators.

Os dados analíticos relativos (porcentuais) de extração de macro e micronutrientes, na matéria seca de feijoeiro, cultivado sobre terra de Oxisol e Alfisol confinada em vasos de 3,8 litros, foram avaliados em relação à tendência de comportamento devida aos níveis de compactação dos solos e posteriormente comparados com os valores absolutos disponíveis. Verificou-se tendência genérica de aumento no acúmulo de Mg, Ca c Fe, e redução de K pela parte aérea e aumento de acúmulo de Mg, Ca, K além de redução de N pelas raízes. Pode ser constatado um comportamento diferencial entre os valores relativos e absolutos, principalmente das raízes, ocorrendo inclusive inversão no comportamento genérico de K, Ca e Fe. Com a finalidade de poder comparar o comportamento dos nutrientes entre si , os dados relativos parecem ser os mais apropriados, quando considerados todos os nutrientes essenciais.

The relative analitical absorption data of the macro and micronutrients, in the dry matter of common bean, cropped in soil of an Oxisol and an Alfisol, confined in 3,8 liter pots, were analised in relation to the comportamentaltendency due to the compaction levels of the soils, and further compared to the disponible absolute values. It could be verified a general tendency in increase the accumulation of Mg, Ca and Fe, and decrease of K by the shoots, and increase of the extraction of Mg, Ca and K, and of decrease of N by the roots. It could be observed a differential behavior between the relative and absolute data, principally of the roots, occurring inclusive an inversion of the general tendency of K, Ca and Fe. With the finality to compare the behavior between the different nutrients, the relative data seem to be the more apropriate ones, when all essential nutrients are considered.

Duas variedades de arroz de sequeiro, IAC-164 e IAC-165, foram cultivadas em solução nutritiva até o fim do ciclo. Foi feita a determinação da matéria seca das raízes, colmos+perfilhos, folhas, casca e grãos. Nas diversas partes foi feita a determinação dos teores de macro e micronutrientes. Os macronutrientes foram exigidos na seguinte ordem decrescente: IAC-164 - K, N, Ca, Mg, P e S; IAC-165 - N, K, Ca, P - Mg, As duas variedades exportaram (grãos + casca) os elementos na ordem decrescente seguinte: N, K, P, Mg, Ca, S. As exigências de micronutrientes por sua vez, guardaram a ordem decrescente: IAC-164 - Cl, Fe, Zn, Mn, Cu, B, Mo; IAC-165 - Cl, Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu, B, Mo. A exportação obedeceu a esta ordem para as duas variedades: Cl, Zn, Fe, Mn, Cu, B e Mo. As exigências nutricionais das duas variedades não foram as mesmas.

Two upland rice varieties, IAC-164 and IAC-165 were grown in full strenght nº 2 Hoagland's solution untill their life cycle was completed. Dry matter production and both macro and micronutrient contents were then determined. Accumulation of macronutrients obeyed the following decreasing order: IAC-164 - K, N, Ca, Mg, P, and S; IAC-165 - N, K, Ca, P = Mg, and S. Exportation of macronutrients followed the same order for both varieties namely: N, K, P, Mg, Ca, and S. Percentwise P was the element exported in the grains in higher proportion. The requirement for micronutrients showed the following decreasing order: IAC-164 - Cl, Fe, Zn, Mn, Cu, B, and Mo; IAC-165 - Cl, Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu, B, and Mo. The extremely high Cl content was tentatively explained by luxury consumption. Both varieties presented the same trend in the exportation of micronutrients: Cl, Zn, Fe, Mn, Cu, B and Mo. Variety IAC-165 showed a higher efficiency of utilization of elements for yield formation, only P and Ca being exceptions.
