Resumo Introdução: A promoção da literacia em saúde é crucial para que os utentes possam tomar decisões adequadas em matéria de saúde, promovendo uma utilização mais eficiente dos recursos e contribuindo para a sua sustentabilidade. Objetivos: Promover a literacia em saúde entre os utentes de seis Unidades de Saúde Familiar (USF) no Norte de Portugal acerca da organização e estrutura dos cuidados de saúde primários (CSP) e a especialidade médica de medicina geral e familiar (MGF). Métodos: Estudo observacional, prospetivo, do tipo coorte. Foram aplicados questionários em formato Google® Docs a utentes com 18 ou mais anos, que preenchiam os critérios de inclusão, antes e após um mês da intervenção. A intervenção consistiu na visualização de um vídeo formativo preparado pelos autores acerca da organização e os recursos dos CSP e a especialidade de MGF. Resultados: O questionário pré-intervenção foi preenchido por 274 utentes, 165 visualizaram o vídeo educativo e 113 preencheram o questionário pós-intervenção. Apenas 88 utilizadores participaram em todas as fases do projeto e foram considerados elegíveis para a interpretação dos resultados. Após a intervenção verificou-se uma melhoria estatisticamente significativa na classificação geral obtida no questionário, com um aumento na percentagem de respostas corretas de 66,7% para 72,7% (p=0,004; IC 95%). Verificou-se também um aumento na taxa de respostas corretas em quase todas as questões aplicadas. Discussão e Conclusão: A literacia em saúde ajuda os cidadãos a tomar melhores decisões em relação à sua saúde, com um consequente impacto económico e social. Este projeto culminou na criação de uma ferramenta multimédia capaz de melhorar os conhecimentos dos utentes portugueses acerca dos CSP, passível de ser replicada noutros locais do País.

Abstract Introduction: Promoting health literacy is essential for patients to make informed healthcare decisions, ensuring more efficient resource utilization and contributing to long-term sustainability. Objectives: Enhance health literacy among patients in six health units in Northern Portugal, focusing on the organization and structure of primary healthcare services (PHC) and the medical specialty of general practice/family medicine (GPFM). Methods: An observational, prospective cohort study was conducted. Questionnaires in Google® Docs format were administered to patients aged 18 and older who met the inclusion criteria, both before and one month after the intervention. The intervention involved watching an educational video created by the authors about PHC's organization, resources, and GPFM specialty. Results: The pre-intervention questionnaire received responses from 274 patients, with 165 of them viewing the educational video and 113 completing the post-intervention questionnaire. Eighty-eight participants engaged in all phases of the project and were considered eligible for result analysis. After the intervention, there was a statistically significant improvement in the overall questionnaire score, with the percentage of correct answers increasing from 66.7% to 72.7% (p=0.004; CI 95%). Correct answer rates also improved across most of the questions. Discussion and Conclusion: Health literacy empowers individuals to make informed health choices, resulting in economic and social benefits. This project led to the creation of a multimedia tool that can enhance the understanding of Portuguese patients regarding PHC, with potential for replication in other regions of the country.

RESUMO Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo calibrar e testar o modelo de cultura SARRA-H (Système d’Analyse Régionale des Risques Agroclimatologiques) para o caupi, bem como realizar o zoneamento de risco climático para esta cultura em uma região localizada na Amazônia Oriental, a fim de permitir a identificação de locais e datas de semeadura que favoreçam a produção considerando tanto o déficit hídrico como a probabilidade de ocorrência de chuvas severas durante o período da colheita. O modelo foi calibrado e validado com dados de experimentos realizados entre 2013 e 2016 no município de Castanhal, PA. As áreas de baixo risco climático foram definidas como aquelas que apresentaram índice de satisfação da necessidade hídrica (WRSI) maior ou igual a 0,5 na fase reprodutiva combinado com a ocorrência de chuvas abaixo de 20 mm na colheita por, pelo menos, 80% dos anos onde foi simulado o plantio. O modelo foi capaz de simular o balanço hídrico, crescimento e desenvolvimento do feijão-caupi nas condições climáticas e de solo da região estudada com boa precisão e exatidão. ABSTRACT This study aimed to calibrate and test the SARRA-H (Système d’Analyse Régionale des Risques Agroclimatologiques) crop model for cowpea, as well as conducting a climate risk zoning for this crop in a region located in Eastern Amazon, allowing the identification of locations and sowing dates that favor the production considering both the water deficit and the probability of occurrence of severe rains during the harvest period. The model was calibrated and validated with data from experiments conducted between 2013 and 2016 in the municipality of Castanhal, PA, Brazil. Low climate risk areas were defined as those that had a water requirement satisfaction index (WRSI) greater than or equal to 0.5 in the reproductive phase combined with the occurrence of rainfall below 20 mm at the harvest for, at least, 80% of the years for which planting was simulated. The model was able to simulate the water balance, growth and development of cowpea under the climate and soil conditions of the studied location with high precision and accuracy. The optimal period for sowing cowpea comprises the interval between June 5th and 25th for regions located above 2° S and between March 25th and April 15th for regions below 2º S. En ese contexto, la lucha por los derechos humanos y el reconocimiento de los derechos de la naturaleza, particularmente en América Latina, ganan protagonismo en los ámbitos político, socioambiental y académico. El objetivo general de este texto es analizar el proceso socio-histórico de constitución y aplicación de los derechos humanos y de los derechos de la naturaleza en América Latina. Los objetivos específicos son: poner de relieve los aspectos de ese proceso sociohistórico y profundizar en los retos a los que se enfrentan el Estado y la sociedad civil para hacer realidad esos derechos. Abstract There are several contradictions that are evident with the environmental and civilizational crisis. In this context, the struggle for human rights and the recognition of the rights of nature, particularly in Latin America, are gaining prominence in the political, socio-environmental, and academic fields. This article aims to analyze the sociohistorical process of constitution and implementation of human rights and rights of nature in Latin America. The specific objectives are to highlight aspects of this sociohistorical process and to delve into the challenges faced by the state and civil society in achieving these rights. Two hypotheses guided this work: a) the reality of environmental contradictions, obstacles to the effectiveness of human rights, and difficulties in recognizing that the rights of nature are related to anthropocentric views; b) resistance to anthropocentrism marks new perspectives and fields of struggle for human rights and rights of nature in Latin America. RESUMO Compreender o desenvolvimento do coqueiro-anão-verde é essencial para melhorar seu manejo. Objetivou-se caracterizar e entender a sazonalidade do desenvolvimento e a produção de frutos do coqueiro-anão-verde sob condições de sequeiro e irrigação na região nordeste do Pará, Brasil. ABSTRACT Understanding the green dwarf coconut palm development is essential to improve its management. This study aimed to characterize and understand the seasonality of the green dwarf coconut palm development and yield under rainfed and irrigated conditions in the northeastern region of the Pará state, Brazil. ABSTRACT Inadequate management of the irrigation system has compromised yield and favoured the degradation and waste of water resources. To ensure efficient irrigation management, providing yield increases, sustainability in the use of water resources and reduction of production costs, studies about the water demand of coconut palms are needed. The objective of this study was to determine the energy partition, crop evapotranspiration (ETc), and the simple crop coefficients (Kc) of the green dwarf coconut palms in Santa Izabel do Pará, Pará, Brazil. The experiment was carried out in a coconut plantation at Reunidas Sococo Farm, with an area of approximately 7 ha in a triangular spacing of 7.5 × 7.5 m, during 2020 and 2021. The ETc was determined by the Bowen ratio method, with measurements of temperature and relative humidity at two levels above the crop canopy and reference evapotranspiration (ETo) by the FAO Penman-Monteith method, using data from the National Institute of Meteorology. The Kc was determined by the ratio between ETc and ETo. ABSTRACT: The growing demand for coconut water has led to the expansion of irrigated green dwarf coconut cultivation; however, the inefficient use of water has contributed to the degradation and waste of water resources, making fundamental studies aiming to optimize the use of water. Abstract Objective: Assess epidemiological data and clinical predictors of mediastinitis in deep neck infections (DNI) submitted to surgery. Study Design: Retrospective observational Methods: Data analysis of every DNI patient submitted to surgery from January 2015 to December 2021 in the Otorhinolaryngology department of a tertiary hospital center. Results: A total of 165 patients with a mean age of presentation of 48,5 years were included. The most frequent etiology was odontogenic infection (51,5%) and the most involved cervical space was the submandibular space (60,6%). Furthermore, the most isolated bacteria in patients with and without mediastinitis was Streptococcus spp. Progression to mediastinitis occurred in 20 (12,1%) patients. In a multivariate analysis, a bilateral DNI location (p=0,015) and a higher neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) (0,037) were associated with progression to mediastinitis. Conclusion: The presence of a bilateral DNI and NLR seem to be the most important clinical predictors of mediastinitis.

Resumo Objetivo: Avaliar dados epidemiológicos e fatores preditivos de mediastinite em abcessos cervicais profundos (ACP) submetidos a cirurgia. Desenho de Estudo: Observacional retrospetivo. Material e Métodos: Avaliação de adultos com ACP submetidos a cirurgia de janeiro de 2015 a dezembro de 2021 no serviço de Otorrinolaringologia de um hospital terciário português. Resultados: Foram incluídos 165 doentes com uma idade média de 48,5 anos. O espaço cervical envolvido mais frequentemente foi o espaço submandibular (60,6%) e a etiologia mais comum foi a infeção odontogénica (51,5%). Os microrganismos isolados mais frequentemente em pacientes com e sem mediastinite foram da espécie Streptococcus spp. Ocorreu evolução para mediastinite em 20 (12,1%) doentes. Numa análise multivariada, a presença de abcesso bilateral (p=0,015) e o aumento do rácio de neutrófilos para linfócitos (NLR) (0,037) associaram-se à evolução para mediastinite. Conclusão: A presença de abcesso bilateral e o aumento do NLR são os fatores preditivos mais importantes na evolução para mediastinite.

RESUMO O feijão-caupi apresenta grande importância socioeconômica nas regiões Norte e Nordeste do Brasil, sendo que a busca por alternativas que ofereçam aumento de produtividade com retorno financeiro tem se tornado um importante desafio. Assim, o objetivo deste trabalho foi estimar e avaliar os indicadores econômicos da produção de feijão-caupi nos anos de 2015 e 2016 quando da aplicação de irrigação por gotejamento em diferentes lâminas. Os tratamentos de irrigação foram baseados na evapotranspiração da cultura (ETc). O experimento foi instalado em blocos ao acaso com quatro tratamentos (0, 25, 50 e 100% da ETc) e seis repetições. Para análise econômica, os resultados foram extrapolados para uma área de um hectare. A produtividade em 2015 foi inferior à de 2016; porém, em todos os tratamentos, a produtividade foi sempre maior quando as plantas foram cultivadas sob irrigação adequada. Em ambos os anos, os custos operacionais totais foram maiores sob irrigação do que sob condições de sequeiro. O tratamento 100% ETc resultou em maior número de sacas de feijão-caupi (60 kg) produzidas e receita bruta superior ao tratamento de sequeiro em 17 sacas ha-1, equivalente a 1.020 kg ha-1 (receita bruta US$ 711,48) e 16 sacas ha-1, equivalente a 960 kg ha-1 (receita bruta US$ 867,12), em 2015 e 2016, respectivamente. ABSTRACT Cowpeas are of high socioeconomic importance in the North and Northeast regions of Brazil, whereby the search for alternatives that offer increased productivity with financial returns has become an important challenge. Thus, the objective of this study was to estimate and evaluate the economic indicators of cowpea production in 2015 and 2016 when applying drip irrigation to different depths. Irrigation treatments were based on crop evapotranspiration (ETc). The experiment was laid in a randomized complete blocks design with four treatments (0, 25, 50, and 100% ETc) and six replications. For economic analysis, the results were extrapolated to an area of one hectare. Productivity in 2015 was lower than that in 2016; however, in all treatments, it was always higher when plants were grown under adequate water supply. In both years, the total operating costs were higher under irrigation than under rainfed conditions. The 100% ETc treatment resulted in a greater number of cowpea bags (60 kg) produced and a higher gross revenue than the rainfed treatment by 17 bags ha-1, equivalent to 1,020 kg ha-1 (gross revenue US$ 711.48) and 16 bags ha-1, equivalent to 960 kg ha-1 (gross revenue US$ 867.12), in 2015 and 2016, respectively. RESUMO A lima ácida Tahiti é uma espécie de grande importância econômica em todo o mundo. Em território brasileiro, a produção concentra-se nos estados de São Paulo e Pará, onde geralmente é enxertada em limão-cravo. Este estudo tem como objetivo analisar o efeito de diferentes lâminas de irrigação na produção de frutos, fenologia e trocas gasosas de lima ácida Tahiti enxertada em citrumelo Swingle. A irrigação foi realizada durante o primeiro ano, com quatro lâminas de irrigação diferentes em um delineamento de blocos ao acaso com 5 blocos e 4 tratamentos, para manter o potencial matricial do solo nas seguintes faixas: T1: abaixo de -50 kPa, T2: de -30 a -50 kPa , T3: de -10 a -30 kPa e T4: acima de -10 kPa. ABSTRACT Tahiti lime is a species of great economic importance worldwide. In Brazil, production is concentrated in the states of São Paulo and Pará, where it is usually grafted onto the Rangpur lime. This study aimed to analyze the effects of different irrigation depths on the fruit yield, phenology, and gas exchange of Tahiti lime trees grafted onto Swingle citrumelo. Irrigation was performed during the first year at four different irrigation depths in a random block design with five blocks and four treatments to maintain the soil matric potential in the following ranges: T1: below -50 kPa, T2: from -30 to -50 kPa, T3: from -10 to -30 kPa, and T4: above -10 kPa. The flowering, carbon assimilation rate (A), stomatal conductance (gs), transpiration (E), and fruit yield were measured. Fruits were harvested earlier in the most irrigated treatment, T4, and the yield increased from 2.22 to 6.89 kg per plant from T1 to T4. Abstract The exception is still a mystery to the law. In this study, the exception problem is presented contrary to Cartesian rationality and problematized in a pragmatic-systemic metodology. Therefore, as a condition of operational decidability in the legal system. In this way, the improbability of communication is addressed by communicating the exception. Considerándolos como proyectos de sociedad, intentamos rescatar sus elementos caracterizadores, sus tensiones y su potencial emancipador frente a las contradicciones sociales, culturales y socioambientales resultantes del modelo hegemónico de desarrollo. Abstract This work seeks to highlight two theoretical-political and cultural constructions, human rights and nature’s rights, in the face of the challenges and contradictions of modernity based on anthropocentrism and an instrumental economic rationality. Considering them as projects of society, we sought to rescue their characterizing elements, their tensions and their emancipatory potential in the face of social, cultural and socio-environmental contradictions arising from the hegemonic model of development. Abstract Introduction Clinical and pathological staging plays an important role on the prognosis of head and neck cancer (HNC) patients. Objective The present study aims to compare clinical and pathological T, N and overall staging in patients with HNC, to identify factors associated with these discrepancies, and to analyze and compare survival or disease-free survival in staging disagreements. Methods Retrospective cohort including every patient submitted to neck dissection from January 2010 to December 2020 in the department of Otorhinolaryngology of a tertiary hospital center. Results A total of 79 patients were analyzed; their mean age was 58.52 ± 13.15 years old and 88.9% were male. Assessing overall staging, discrepancies were noted in 53% (36.4% upstaging and 16.6% downstaging) and were significantly associated with clinical overall staging (p = 0.006). Regarding T staging, differences were noted in 45.5% (30.3% upstaging and 15.2% downstaging) and were significantly associated with imaging modality (p = 0.016), clinical T staging (p = 0.049), and histology (p = 0.017). Discrepancies in N staging were noted in 38% (25.3% upstaging and 12.7% downstaging) and were significantly associated with age (p = 0.013), clinical N staging (p < 0.001), and presence of extranodal invasion (p < 0.001). Abstract We investigate the balance of radiation and energy over a lime orchard in Eastern Amazon and how it relates to environmental conditions. We found that lime trees aged between 6 and 7 years old reflect 11.0% to 14.5% of incoming shortwave radiation, and the latent heat flux corresponds to 57.6% and 66.6% of the daily net radiation in the dry season (August - November) of 2020, and 2021, respectively. The soil heat flux represents 1% to 2% of the daily net radiation. Evapotranspiration was much lower than the reference evapotranspiration from August to November in 2019 and 2020. Evapotranspiration increased proportionally to the reference evapotranspiration from August to November 2021. This increase may be explained by weather conditions, such as the frequent rainfall during the dry season of 2021, in the same period when the energy for evapotranspiration is higher. Also, the high relative humidity between August and November 2021 may have favored the opening of stomata, increasing the orchard's evapotranspiration. Resumo Investiga-se o balanço de radiação e energia sobre um pomar de limão na Amazônia Oriental e como ele se relaciona com as condições ambientais. Foi descoberto que a lima ácida Tahiti com idades entre 6 e 7 anos refletem de 11,0% a 14,5% da radiação de ondas curtas recebidas, e o fluxo de calor latente corresponde a 57,6% e 66,6% do saldo de radiação diária nos períodos secos (agosto a novembro) de 2020 e 2021, respectivamente. O fluxo de calor do solo representa de 1% a 2% do saldo de radiação diário. A evapotranspiração foi muito menor que a evapotranspiração de referência de agosto a novembro em 2019 e 2020. A evapotranspiração aumentou proporcionalmente à evapotranspiração de referência de agosto a novembro de 2021. Esse aumento pode ser explicado pelas condições climáticas, como as chuvas frequentes durante o período seco de 2021, no mesmo período em que a energia para evapotranspiração é maior. Abstract This text presents "Emotions to Scenes" as a digital media-art artefact for application in a school context. The goal is to reflect on the conflict of interpretations based on the images received and associated with emotions, testing the user’s emotional positioning vis-à-vis those who share the same experience. Thus, it allows verification on whether each user’s interpretation converges or diverges from that of other users. In an age as mediatic as the present, with moving images constantly received, and messages that incite the emotional sensitivity of the receptors, the artefact offers an experience on such visual stimuli. To this purpose, and after presenting the theoretical framework, we describe the design of the artefact, its creative design in digital media-art, the artistic installation process, the context of exhibition, including the contact with the public. Finally, we propose its application to the practices promoted within the scope of the Portuguese National Film Plan (PNC). We therefore consider that "Emotions to Scenes", although having its genesis in the digital media-art environment, can also be an educational artefact, namely as a didactic resource contributing to promote reflections in the context of media literacies in the light of current online practices and lifestyles.

Resumo Este texto apresenta o artefacto "Emotions to Scenes" como proposta em média-arte digital para aplicação em contexto escolar. O objetivo é refletir sobre o problema ou conflito das interpretações feitas sobre imagens recebidas e associadas às emoções, testando o posicionamento emocional dos utilizadores em relação a outros que usufruíram da mesma experiência. Permite, pois, verificar se a interpretação de cada um converge ou diverge da dos outros. Numa época tão mediática como a atual, na qual constantemente se recebem imagens em movimento com mensagens provocadoras da sensibilidade emocional dos recetores, o artefacto oferece uma experiência em torno de tais estímulos visuais. Para tal, e depois de apresentar o enquadramento teórico, descrevemos o design do Artefacto, a sua conceção criativa em média-arte digital, o processo de instalação artística e o contexto de exposição e contacto com o público. Por último, enunciamos a proposta de aplicação às práticas promovidas no âmbito do Plano Nacional de Cinema (PNC). Consideramos, por isso, que o "Emotions to Scenes", tendo a génese no ambiente da média-arte digital, também pode ser um artefacto educacional, enquanto recurso didático promotor de reflexões no quadro das literacias para os media, no contexto das atuais práticas e estilos de vida online.
