This study aimed to synthesize a composite material composed of bio-based, porous carbon matrix and Cu nanoparticles through a simple, low-cost, and environmentally friendly method. Concentrated Kraft black liquor was used as a carbon precursor, and Cu nanoparticles were homogeneously deposited on the carbon matrix using electrochemical deposition. The textural properties determined using N2 isotherms indicated increased surface area of a carbon matrix with a micro-mesoporous structure. Voltammetric tests demonstrated that the composite exhibited catalytic properties for electrochemical CO2 reduction. Compared to the bio-based, porous carbon sample (C matrix), the bio-based carbon electrode electrochemically decorated with Cu nanoparticles (C–Cu composite) exhibited increased current values of approximately 2.4 times, a potential shift of approximately 90 mV, and an onset potential of −1.02 V, under CO2 saturation.

RESUMO: Neste estudo, de abordagem qualitativa, buscamos aduzir elementos relacionados à (in)visibilidade de pessoas com deficiência visual em cursos de Ciências Exatas e Naturais. A invisibilidade nesses cursos, temática pouco explorada até então, constitui uma barreira a ser superada para garantir o ingresso e a permanência desse público. Assim sendo, dialogamos com oito pessoas com deficiência visual em differentes níveis do Ensino Superior, com formações diversas, de variadas regiões do Brasil, para relatar, por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas, suas percepções e perspectivas. Os dados foram analisados de acordo com pressupostos da análise de conteúdo de Bardin. Estabelecemos quatro categorias de análise que se inter-relacionam: "marcas do capacitismo nas Ciências Exatas e Naturais", "escolha do curso", "adaptação e acessibilidade", "o papel do professor e aspectos formativos". Concluímos que a ausência de pessoas com deficiência visual nesses cursos mais tem a ver com as formas como essa condição é tratada do que com alguma inaptidão imputada à perda de visão.

ABSTRACT: In this paper, of a qualitative approach, we sought to adduce aspects of the (in)visibility of visually impaired people in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The invisibility in these courses, a theme poorly addressed so far, constitutes a barrier to be surpassed to assure these people admission and stay Tus, we interviewed eight people with a visual impairment at different levels of Higher Education and courses, from different regions of Brazil, to report their perspectives and perceptions through semi-structured interviews. The data were analyzed according to the assumptions of Bardin's content analysis. We established four inter-related categories "marks of ableism in STEM", "course choice", "adaptation and accessibility", and "teachers' role and formative aspects". We concluded that the absence of visually impaired people in these courses regards how people deal with disabilities more than the ineptitudes related to vision loss.

Resumo A pandemia por COVID-19, em 2020, provocou em Portugal um impacto em vários domínios da vida dos indivíduos. É ainda desconhecido como os indivíduos vivem o estado de emergência, caracterizado pelo confinamento social. Assim, este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar o impacto psicossocial, durante o período de estado de emergência nacional, numa amostra de adultos portugueses. Criou-se um projeto de suporte psicossocial, durante e após o confinamento social por COVID-19 - Psiquarentena. Delineou-se um estudo exploratório, no qual se avaliou o impacto emocional, o tipo de preocupações, e as necessidades face à exigência do confinamento social. No total, 1 698 participantes, preencheram um protocolo online que foi divulgado seis vezes, durante seis semanas consecutivas no período de estado de emergência, constituindo seis avaliações transversais, com amostras independentes (não emparelhadas). Considerando a amostra total, a principal preocupação foi a saúde (57,5%) e a principal necessidade foi o convívio social (54,1%). Comparando as seis semanas de confinamento verificaram-se diferenças significativas para a irritação (X 2df(5) = 15,417; p= 0,017), depressão (X 2 df(5) =16,216; p<0,001), ansiedade (X 2df(5)=40,685; p<0,001), exaustão (X 2df(5) =19,578; p=0,036) e necessidade de apoio psicológico (X 2df(5)=21,932;p<0,001), com maior impacto para as mulheres em comparação com os homens. O impacto psicossocial negativo durante o estado de emergência nacional fundamenta a necessidade de mais estudos na área da saúde mental, no contexto de pandemia, de forma a delinear intervenções psicológicas à medida das necessidades e dificuldades apresentadas e focando os grupos de maior risco psicossocial.

Abstract The COVID-19 Pandemic, in 2020, had in Portugal an impact on several domains of individuals functioning. It still fairly unknown how individuals experience the emergency state, marked by the lockdown. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the psychosocial impact, throughout the national emergency state, among a sample of portuguese adults. A psychosocial support project was developed throughout the lockdown, due to the Covid-19, called Psiquarenten. An exploratory study was design, which assessed the emotional impact, the concerns, and the needs facing the challenges of lockdown. Overall, 1 698 participants, completed an online protocol, presented six times, for the duration of six consecutive weeks, throughout the emergency state, therefore allowing six cross-sectional, independent samples (unpaired). Considering the overall sample, the main concern was health (57,5%), and the main need was social interaction (54,1%). Comparing the overall six weeks of lockdown, significant differences were observed for anger (X 2df(5) = 15,417; p= 0,017), depression (X 2 df(5) =16,216; p<0,001), anxiety (X 2df(5)=40,685; p<0,001), exhaustion (X 2df(5) =19,578; p=0,036) and the need for psychological support (X 2df(5)=21,932;p<0,001), with women showing a stronger impact than men. The psychosocial negative impact found throughout the emergency state supports the need for further studies regarding mental health, on the pandemic context, to inform and develop psychological interventions that suits the needs and challenges presented, focusing on groups at greater risk at psychosocial level.

Resumo: O presente artigo propõe um debate sobre as relações filosóficas - ontológicas e epistemológicas - e político-pedagógicas entre a Educação Ambiental, em sua vertente crítico-marxiana, e a Pedagogia histórico-crítica. Postula-se que, ao se embasar no materialismo histórico-dialético, a Educação Ambiental constitui-se em um aparato teórico e metodológico valoroso, especialmente por potencialmente desenvolver um ato pedagógico emancipador, transformador e crítico, além de apresentar relevante potencial heurístico no desvelamento dos aspectos ideológicos e político-ecológicos da crise socioambiental. A educação ambiental crítica alinhada à Pedagogia histórico-crítica poderia, portanto, desenvolver uma práxis desveladora de conflitos socioambientais, no contexto do ensino e da aprendizagem escolar. Busca-se argumentar sobre a relevância da Pedagogia histórico-crítica na proposição de uma práxis de ensino que utilize a mediação didática como via de ajuste de conhecimentos científicos à realidade da sala de aula e à realidade sociocultural do estudante, em especial no tocante à relação sociedade e ambiente.

Abstract: This article proposes a debate on the philosophical - ontological and epistemological - and political-pedagogical relations between Environmental Education, in its critical-Marxian aspect, and the Historical-Critical Pedagogy. It is postulated that, based on historical-dialectical materialism, Environmental Education constitutes a valuable theoretical and methodological apparatus, especially for potentially developing an emancipatory, transformative and critical pedagogical act, besides presenting relevant heuristic potential in the elucidation of the ideological and political-ecological aspects of the socio-environmental crisis. Critical Environmental Education aligned with Historical-Critical Pedagogy could, therefore, be able to develop a praxis that reveals socio-environmental conflicts, in the context of teaching and school learning. The paper tries to argue for the relevance of the Historical-critical Pedagogy in the proposal of a teaching praxis that uses didactic mediation as a way of adjusting scientific knowledge to the reality of the classroom and to the socio-cultural reality of the student, especially in relation to the interface of society and environment.

O crescente pânico moral acerca do "tráfico de seres humanos" tem criado uma situação na qual os agentes que tratam do tema, ao tentar oferecer informações concretas sobre o fenômeno, muitas vezes, transformam termos de denúncias em categorias analíticas. Esse artigo analisa a produção recente nessa área, buscando recuperar e problematizar as fontes originais acerca do "tráfico", no sentido de evidenciar como dados contraditórios são transformados em "fatos" no processo de produção de saberes, no qual a militância política pode se confundir com a pesquisa científica.
